“ 𝐻𝓊𝓏𝓏𝒶𝒽! ” There’s officially 400 of you following my dear fish princess! When I started this blog, I never thought I would’ve gotten this far, but this community has been so welcoming and supportive. It’s truly been a joy to write with everyone, and I never would’ve gotten here if it weren’t for all of you encouraging me and my writing. Writing an underappreciated character, and especially with the amount of my canon divergence, brought me to always assume that I’d have a much smaller audience for it - and I’m glad to say that I’ve been proven wrong!

But really, I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere near where I am today without the sheer amount of creativity and talent already present in the rpc. Every day I am blown away by the sheer amount of work that is being put into blogs and muses both, and every day I am awestruck at the replies that I read! And you’ve been there through thick and thin, so I think it’s about time I give a little back and show my appreciation.

👑 The Low Royals

For those of you who have been with me the longest, who have seen the growth and fine-tuning, and even potentially helped me shape this blog into what it is now - I raise a glass to you! You’re all my good friends, and I can thank none of you enough. I truly do appreciate and care for all of you, though I might be bad at saying it. You’ve all made me laugh, and cry, and feel ten thousand other emotions, and I can only hope to support all of you the same as you’ve supported me.

Tam / @necrodanger / @ruiincd / @rebeljest : You have been here from the beginning, and for that, you are the first upon this list. Where would I be without your help? When my Miranda first started interacting with your Val, much like the princess not knowing how deeply she’d fall in love with the pauper, I did not know how such a wonderful friendship would grow between us. You have been through Hell together with me, and though I may stumble, I trust you. Your companionship has been crucial to so much here, and I can only hope that I have helped you grow as much as you have helped me. You are irreplaceable in your talent and creativity, and you know I look forward to everything you write, all that you draw, and every day that I get to chat with you over Discord. I can never thank you enough, and I am truly in your debt!

Jeremy / @grave-risen / @lioncovrte / @covenwtch / @amalgaemate : Jerm!!! Gosh, what praises can’t I sing of you and your excellent muses? Your characterization is spot on - there’s just such a warmth that you breathe into all of the characters you handle. They truly take on a life of their own in such a special way, with all the unique pitfalls and challenges that come with them! You have such fine little details that I love to see in each individual personality and your devotion to detail is to be admired. Likewise, you’re someone who I know I can trust, as that warmth truly spreads over into you yourself, and you’re just such a welcoming and genuine friend that I know I can just vibe with without any pressure. I really do love the plots we’ve done so far, and really look forward to seeing how Brian and Miranda handle becoming friends again. I may tease about him being a snack, but you know I’m here for all of the emotional curveballs you can throw at me!

Shorp / @pasttorn : I might be bad at chatting you up recently - but as always, you know I adore your Damien and all of the drama that he can cause! He’s a shit-stirrer of a muse, and you know I love the way you write, which together is just a perfect combination for a great time! You’ve also been around a bit longer in the rpc so you’ve seen some shit, and you’ve seen me reboot this blog and remake my lore. And for that, for sticking through as I went completely off the rails, I think that’s a pretty good summary of you! Chill, supportive, and sweet, a good pal all around to just vibe with and have some fun creative blends with!

Lola / @monstersmashed : AH... Oh, how Miranda loves her Marcus, and how I adore all the OCs you make! What kind of talent is it to be able to make so many unique OCs and have them all be so individual in such a way that really shows the quirks that makes each and every one special, and where can I get some of that? I remember Junie when she was much, much newer in the rpc, and I swear my adoration for what you can do with an interesting concept has only grown!! I sincerely love plotting with you and working out how your darlings can interact with my three disasters, and just absolutely a good friend all around.

Oli / @mindsmelded : OLI! I know you’re inactive right now (and honestly, I don’t blame you) but I GOTTA give you my love too! Every single reply from you just gets me EXCITED to read, with how you handle your muses! There’s just a passion and a flow to your prose that I love, and I truly admire how you can detail out exactly how each muse thinks in such a unique style that, even if you didn’t give a name or pronouns, you know EXACTLY which muse is responding! I admire you for that, and really that’s such a valuable skill that I want to master in my own writing too! You’re overall just such a supportive sweetheart who I can trust to talk to, and expect plenty of wholesome memes in return as a pick-me-up!

👑 The Middle Royals

Here is to all who I roleplay regularly with, but maybe don’t chat up as often as I’d like on Discord or through messages, or maybe just haven’t known as long as others. You have such excellent characters that I love to see interact with my fish princess, and I can’t wait to talk to you more! Some have budding relationships with your muse and Miranda that I can’t wait to see blossom into something complex and special all on their own, but all have just wonderful muses who I highly recommend you give a follow if you haven’t already! There’s a truly special amount of care being put into their writing, and I cannot recommend them enough.

Raz / @superbeaucoupdevisages : Honestly I didn’t expect to start to ship Oz and Miranda, but, WHELP, it happened!!! And I’m glad it did, honestly, because these two? Cute. Very cute!! With a whole lot of potential for angst and lore-exploring too! And really, I’m looking forward to it, because the way you write is simple and concise, which leaves it wonderfully IMPACTFUL. It’s short, sweet, and hits right where it hurts!! Which could honestly be said the same as you, as you know how to make your ideas known in as few words as possible. You know how to be there without the need for pretense, and sometimes you really do need someone to be there to get to the heart of issues, and for that, I thank you!

Hannah / @ciiclops / @bingemuscs : Probably the odd one out here as we have known about each other for quite a while, predating my reboot, but we’ve only recently really gotten around to chatting, which is a SHAME. I love just being able to infodump with you about my lovely, lovely arachnids, and Iris has always been such a charm to interact with!! I can’t wait to see how she might interact more with Miranda and how they might get along, as I’m really just a sucker for nerd and prep friendships (or maybe even something more) !!!

Zac / @collectathon : Can I just say that I’m super excited for your Zoe muse already? There’s so much to get into still, and she’s pretty new in terms of Miranda’s interactions, but I can’t WAIT to see what happens! Especially with all the ties Miranda has to the eldritch... Plus, I know to go to you for a good time, and I don’t think I’ll get over Miranda trying to frame Scooby Doo for arson anytime soon! You’re a wonderful friend with such a passion that I look forward to talking to more!

June / @preparetodie / @fullofschmidt : Is it bad to say I genuinely didn’t think much of Aaravi until I found your blog? Because I kinda did! But you have taught me to appreciate and love this fiesty AND VERY SAD slayer in a way I never have before, with such introspections on her character that I haven’t even thought about before recently! Similarly, your Vicky? STUNNING. She’s special in her own way, and honestly I can’t wait to discover more about her. Likewise, I’m looking forward to both of them learning more of Miranda’s specific secrets, and all of the fun turmoil that comes with that! (Plus, your art? So lovely!!! I might just have to commission you sometime!)

He’s honestly really funny, and sometimes even I can forget how lighthearted the actual tone of Monster Prom can be - so I think having something a little lighter is really good! Certainly, Miranda appreciates it, pfft! Your passion for writing really comes through, and I gotta say I really admire you going the extra mile to really get people similarly excited for something too! You’re someone who I really would like to chat and write with more often, if only my energy could pan out, because you’re honestly just that interesting! Good vibes, great times all around!

Josie / @galaxietm : We haven’t gotten the chance to write much together yet, but the amount of excitement I get from being able to write with you in the future is telling as to the quality that I’ve observed so far! I don’t show near as much love to your muse as I wish I did, because gosh you really do care about him and it shows! You’re someone who I could chat with all night though, and you bring up so many things I haven’t quite thought of yet! I really do appreciate having someone there who I can bounce ideas off of regularly, and you’re just excellent for that. You say you’re a dog in a human’s body, and tbh? I absolutely believe that with just how friendly you are!

Mori / @roskaarotta : Molly is one of those OCs who I can just immediately pick out as one of my favorites, with the amount of care you’ve gone into in making her! Your writing with her is a lot like how I see your art with her - absolutely soaked in a killer atmosphere that you can’t get anywhere else. I love how you took demons/angels and put a bit of yourself into them, and the character drama you write is to die for! I love hearing all of Molly’s backstory and really get a grasp of her personality, and you KNOW Miranda loves her Raccoon Wife!!

Rilli / @empatheticxangel / @marquisxofxlove : Speaking of which - YOU ARE ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF SOME OF MY FAVORITE OCs! Liam is such a darling, and you’re another big inspiration in me furthering my own lore! The amount of detail you work with for Liam is awe-inspiring, and I truly love hearing about how his world works and the history it has, alongside his own unique biology! The way you handle his powers is legitimately something I haven’t seen done before, and I think that really just goes to show exactly how much consideration and love is really going into developing him. Not to mention - you DRAW all your icons!! Like, DAMN.

Dani / @candyredmuses / @pxppinmolly / @bluemoonmuses : DANI. NERD. DORK. FELLOW MUN OF A PINK PRINCESS. I cannot say how much I appreciate you! And though we might not chat it up as regularly as some others (basically until I find a meme or song that reminds me of you) - you are on my mind!! Your work on character development CANNOT BE OVERSTATED. I think about Molly and your work on her so often, and she truly inspires me to further work on Miranda and put all the more thought into detailing her out! I might be a cryptid, but you can sight me anyday! (And bonus points for ALSO BEING A FELLOW HORROR-LOVER.)

And here’s to all who I don’t know as well! Who I see on my dash or maybe have a thread or interaction or two with, but don’t chat OOC with that often or that Miranda isn’t totally established with yet! so i saw your post about artists still drawing willc, and i understand the viewpoint (i am also disappointed by lack of willr content) but i felt i should maybe provide an artist's perspective! personally, while drawing characters i like, i fall into a groove with it. they obviously became fans (perhaps far) before willr was jerm and they cultivated willc in their style already. i've gotten to a point where i don't even reference characters anymore, how i draw them Is That Character for me

i don’t follow you and just peeped your blog realizing you make art and shit that sounds condescending now cause i didn’t know you were an artist! and also although i have my Main Base characters i draw, i like to branch out to explore newer actors in the roles, so it’s still kind of disappointing there’s almost a rift between jeremys. (also ps your art is very good and cute i hope you have a nice day)

i really accept no Good Faith arguments about why there’s a noticeable lack of Specifically Roland Jeremy depictions. like, this isn’t even about individual artists; i don’t need every single person who draws a conn-style jeremy to justify it or Prove that it’s not about rejecting roland jeremy. the issue is the emergent discrepancy between them + the fact that we Do see people make adjustments for visual changes and new castings seen in 2.0/3.0, even allowing for jeremy’s new costume (or voice…..) while still retaining Will Connolly’s Appearance. which in itself is not necessarily the work of the devil but we Do see that it is A Choice that people make

there’s never any reason someone is Actually Incapable of learning how to draw anything differently. god knows we all wish that we really Could settle into a routine with the way that we draw and feel comfortable at home base but even if you do draw the exact same characters all of the time, your style evolves and your abilities improve and you really Can’t not adjust the way you draw. and inevitably we have something new we have to learn how to draw and yes it’s frustrating not feeling like you “know” how to draw it but like. if you try to learn you can. and artists will keep pulling out the “well i don’t have as much experience drawing _____ so i’m never going to draw that way” to justify some kind of nonsense about why they can’t possibly depict a fat person and it’s so totally reasonable to just imply they can’t even Make An Effort……like, not drawing some Unusual Perspective or not putting realistic folds in clothing b/c you don’t have much practice / don’t really feel like it isn’t the same as “i shouldn’t have to learn how to draw people with characteristics i’m not already used to drawing” b/c obviously a Lot of issues crop up with this that aren’t relevant with stuff like “i’m not used to drawing shoes so i’ll draw them the exact same way always”

in this case there is the way too pervasive issue that people have honest contempt for will roland because he does not look or sound a way they consider adequately Cute / attractive and that is the entire nuance of it. we’ve got people out here imagining justifications and making up objectively false arguments about why actually It’s Bad And They Dislike Him /(As Jeremy) Because ___ but then you really do have people flat-out owning it that they don’t like him b/c of how he looks. this is the Entire Issue. if this wasn’t a factor then we’d see a more balanced ratio in terms of The Way People Are Willing To Imagine This Character. there’s only two guys to have played this role (and only very recently several appearances by alternates) and while the fanbase exploded on the connolly look and sound, there’s been like. a whole Year of will roland jeremy and if the only issue was “it’s difficult to learn how to draw a new person” then, well, there’s been time to practice.

again i accept no arguments that so many people are refusing to draw will roland jeremy In Good Faith. this isn’t about individual artists; the Trend or Pattern inherently requires looking at a whole group to be discernible

like, i don’t really search out bmc fanart, so what i come across is a pretty random selection of recent-er works, and i’ve very very rarely seen Only 1.0 Cast fanart, yet i’ve also very rarely seen Clearly Roland Jeremy fanart. people are willing to learn to draw characters in a new / multiple ways, but there is this unwillingness to imagine jeremy the way he looks as played by will roland because yknow. god forbid you compromise the mental image of a willowy conventionally prettier jeremy

honestly and it also feels like a rare occasion when i see a jared that looks all that much like will roland in particular. obviously there’s a lot more options re: people who’ve played the role and so like, okay. but at the same time it’s wild that like, the Collectively Imagined Usual Depiction Of Jared does not share that much in common with will roland besides being a white short-haired brunette in glasses. it’s like, wonder of wonders when someone’s fanart of jared is clearly based on Either of the two principle broadway actors for the role. stuck between a rock (non conventionally attractive white guy) and a hard place (he’s totally skinny! but he’s black, too!) on that one i guess

also i have one resounding complaint to make about people drawing Ostensibly-Will-Roland

the roles he’s played which receive the most fanart are obv jared kleinman and jeremy heere………….these are both canonically jewish characters……..would it absolutely kill people to ever ever ever draw a nose like how will roland’s nose actually looks Especially in these cases. sometimes we Do get examples of people drawing not-will-connolly jeremy but The Nose Looks Nothing Like Will Roland’s and it’s like oh. well that’s fantastic. we’re just defaulting to generic white brunette with “acceptably Cute small narrow upturned nose” some more then, okay, i cannot condone this

gods sake when i see a would-be 2.0 / 3.0 jeremy like

that honestly hurt me to make btw…..look noses are a challenge to draw and basically all of us simplify them but if your Shorthand Nose For Absolutely Everyone looks like the above please think about this. noses that are deemed Too Wide / Flat / Big / Hooked / Downturned are also deemed bad / ugly and like, get over that and don’t subscribe to it or propagate it. there’s no such real thing as ugliness or Objective Attractiveness and the concepts are Not at all apolitical liiiike

please everyone be conscious and analytical towards how you draw people and whether you think you have to “censor” certain physical traits and don’t use the justification of “it’s hard to learn how to depict ____” like yeah it’s hard drawing is always hard we’re all trapped in hell together, learning how to be better drawing something that we didn’t use to have any practice drawing is how anyone ever draws anything at all ever so like. it’s not an argument about why someone Can’t draw something. you only Won’t draw something and you can have good / neutral reasons behind this or terrible reasons and plenty of people won’t draw will roland looking like will roland because they think don’t think he looks cute and that’s it.

I've reached chapter 13 of the church route.

Seteth plays the lord and is so happy to see Billy again because Rhea said she should take her place and Billy's actually a vessel for the divine ancestor...

Seteth is perfectly ok with this, so is the rest of the church because Billy is the avatar, but damn if even Catherine/Hanneman etc aren't wondering why Seteth shouldn't be the one leading... They weren't here when Rhea appointed Billy.

Avatar worship at its finest here, meh.

I didn't notice how so many people commented on Billy's new hair dye and how many characters noted that it looked like Rhea's... But no one made a comment about Flayn or if Rhea and Seteth are somehow related (lindhart has green hair but his eyes aren't fluo-green).

The attack on the monastery... Well, was very different from what I first played, Edel brought her pets with her but in her route, somehow, Caspar and Co are strong enough to take their role...

Given how Edel brought her beasties to the catacombs I think it's more in the general lines of "we don't see those problematic things in Edel's route else we might wonder wtf Billy's doing here" but w/c

I missed Rhea's general enthusiasm for the ceremony during my first run, she totally doesn't give two figs about Billy but only wants Sothis to descend into this finally compatible host, even Seteth, when he finally catches on, feels sorry for Billy...

I didn't miss Rhea's desperate tone when Metodey (? Edel's minion who seems as sane as Jerme from the black Fang) and his goons start to pillage the tombs, taking even, in the script, bones... Eww.

My bro asked a very serious question here : given how Rhea is able to fight, even in human form, why wasn't she helping us here? Did she had some breakdown seeing randoms harvesting her brethren's corpses for a second time?

A Random Npc wondered about Edel's motives after Monica's reveal given how the two were so close, but said random is the only one with a brain here so.... I don't fault Catherine for being suspicious about the remaining BE after Edel's treachery but, damn, if she had been that cautious since the beginning (after Jeralt's death) a lot of things would have been prevented...

Oh, also, randoms noted how there seemed to be more people than usual at the monastery /in the city before the event with Flamey, which clicks when to know what is going to happen next.

I love those randoms.

Edel wasn't that much of a problem to deal with, a green swordmaster Npc crit'd her and I was like "wtf". I think it's scripted though, because Edel survived with 1 hp. Catherine punched her in the face and it ended.

Cookie point, comparing with Edel's route:

in the crimson flower path Edel brags about moral righteousness when Rhea burns Firhiad because, apparently, she let the civilians from the monastery escape.

Here, the death knight is implied, during his battle quote, to have chopped said civilians before joining the fight in garreg Mach...

Anyways, it isn't enough, Edel calls her reinforcements and to her nuncle, Rhea tells us to go and to protect the children, saying she won't let another Zanado happens before transforming. Claude even stops to fight his random enemy to look at the dragon, Dimitri doesn't give a fig (I think he is already gone) but nuncle's pets come to Edel's help, manage to push Billy in a hole while other beasts gang on Rhea.

And when we wake up, we're forced to an indigest cutscene with Edel where Billy can't asks wtf is going on with her or just try to punch her, nope, it's played as that reunion she expected and how it'd really have been nice if we sided with her... Complete with some "she must have her reasons" and "she's fighting for her cause" choice options when other characters question her wtf decision to start a war against the church and the rest of the continent.

This is a black eagle route - church route damn it, I care way more for Bernie's family (dad doesn't support Edel and is under house arrest but her mom supports the emperor) and how Ferdie was everything but in name exiled because he opposed her decisions than I care about "was Edel injured"

I'd have thought Billy would be the one wanting to find Rhea asap since her identity isn't a secret anymore but w/c

On a side note, I recruited lysithea, Annette (it happened just like that), Ignatz (same), Leonie, Mercedes, Sylvain and Lorenz. I want to use the church units though, so they were recruited for their paralogues, but as of now I only had one with Ignatz and the Lorenz Sylvain ones...

warnings: probably out of character jerm bc this isnt even my best writing but u kno what!!! i tried and thats what matters! :0 also some hormonal teenage shit but whatever

After a year of knowing Jeremy, and about three months of dating him, you could say you knew him well enough to know his nervous tics. The way he’d sorta start shoving his hands into his pockets, only to immediately pull them back out and straighten his spine; the way he’d drum his fingers restlessly on a table or on his ever-bouncing leg; or how he’d focus on you and stare you down unintentionally, his focus just ending up on you even if his thoughts weren’t. When you could get out, you’d slip your hand into his own and ask if he wanted to stay - and usually, he was happy to leave, immediately relaxing into normal-nerdy-boyfriend while telling you about the latest episode of this podcast he and Michael had been listening to, or about this video game he’d found, or really anything that interested him. He liked locking his fingers with your own, your shoulder bumping against him when he slightly pulled you into his side, trapped in his own world about whatever came to mind. You liked seeing Jeremy get caught up in his own world for a bit - there was just something cute about seeing fascination etch it’s way into his features, the stars in his eyes bright as ever.

So there you were, sitting across from Jeremy in some coffee-shop Michael had practically begged for you two to come to, watching Jeremy idly drum his fingers against the table as he listened to Michael talk on and on about the trip he took with his moms to visit family for the past few weeks. You smiled as you watched Michael pull up photo after photo, telling story after story about the shit he got up to while he was away. Normally, you and Jeremy would trade stories with Michael - but both of you had the feeling that whatever you two had to say, Michael wouldn’t exactly be up to hearing. Not that you thought Jeremy could get past one detail without going completely red - which the mere thought of made you smile. So you kept your coffee between your hands, listening to Michael’s winter break and watching Jeremy’s endless drumming.

The moment that you and Jeremy parted ways with Michael, he opened up again, slipping his fingers in between your own and softly grasping your hand. You could see your breath in the winter air, and Jeremy’s hand was warm against your own. You listened to Jeremy talk about how he wished his winter break had involved travelling - not that he had anything against you, because trust him, he loved spending all that time with you - but maybe during summer if both of you get a job, you can save up and maybe go somewhere together.

He stopped mid-sentence, looking over to you. “I-I mean,” he started, “if you wanna travel with me.”

You looked over to him, tugging your scarf closer to your neck with your free hand. You finally spoke, a warm tuft of air emerging as you opened your mouth to speak, “of course I wanna travel with you, Jer. Why wouldn’t I?”

“I mean- It’s not like I’m special or anything,” he sorta laughed it off, “and I don’t really know cool shit like Michael does about random places- or even where we’d go or-”

“Where do you wanna go?” You squeezed his hand as you walked down the street.

“I dunno. New York? It’s not far, but it’s expensive-” He paused, “what about you?”

“New York honestly sounds great.” You fished around in your pocket for your keys, clicking for your car to unlock as the two of you approached it.

The moment the two of you got into your car, you went to crank it up and blast the heating. Before you even considered moving, you waited, fingers intertwined with Jeremy’s as the two of you waited for that first gust of warm air to finally break through the car. He finally broke his hand away from yours as he unwrapped his scarf slowly, shedding his jacket without a second thought - and if you hadn’t had been paying attention, you would have missed the obvious mark on his neck.

“Good job with hiding that, Jer,” you said with a click of your tongue, and he barely registered what you were talking about. Then it clicked, and the blush traveled up his neck and to his cheeks and the tips of his ears - although maybe the fact that he was cold helped with that.

“I didn’t want Michael to see it- fuck, I’d never hear the end of it if he saw it, because then he’d say something to Rich and Rich would go screaming about it in the group chat and I-” He paused, “I don’t want them to know about any of that.”

“Babe,” you dropped the name quietly, “I understand.” You couldn’t fight back a smirk, “although it’ll be kiiinda hard when it gets warmer.” You pulled his hand to your lips as you pressed a soft kiss against the back of it. “We’re heading to your place, right?”

He nodded slowly, cheeks growing redder at the mischievous glint in your eyes. He knew you. He knew what you were planning - especially because his dad was definitely out right now, and that meant the two of you would be alone for a bit. Excitement bubbled within him though, because he’d definitely be lying if he said that look didn’t stir something within him. His breath had slightly hitched, and he fought back against anymore redness as he averted his gaze and focused on the scenery outside. You turned up the radio, a familiar enough song playing and he listened as you softly sang along in that little way that people do when they know the song but they don’t know the song. The soft murmurs under your breath that went along with the tune, but weren’t specific enough to make out each word. He smiled at that. He’d be lying if he didn’t actually think about road trips with you during summer, of turning up the radio so that the two of you could jam out shamelessly to a playlist you’d build together.

You pulled into the driveway, shutting the car off after you watched Jeremy re-dress himself with winter attire (and you watched him smile when you made eye contact as he draped his scarf around his neck again to hide the hickey you’d given him the day before, and you couldn’t help but smile in return). Within the next few minutes, you were inside of his house and en route to his room, stripping off your thick jacket along the way.

“Shit, babe, I know that I said I was going to clean after you left yesterday, but I kinda got preoccupied and I forgot about it,” Jeremy called out, “so my room is still a fucking mess- and, uh, I think I left my computer on the bed and hopefully I closed it but, fuck, I don’t remember-” And then he was following you, steps behind as you opened his bedroom door, his clothes strewn on the floor from changing that morning and his backpack open, binders carelessly shoved inside. “Sorry-” He said as he followed your gaze to his bag, “I had something stuck in my bag and I, uh, didn’t get a chance to organize- shit, I think I left a can of soda somewhere-”

“Oh my god, Jeremy, shut up,” you laughed as you pulled him to you, lips smashing against his own, fingers gripping his shirt tightly within your fists.

He clumsily kissed back, one hand at your cheek and the other grazing your arm as he stumbled force due to the sheer force of your pull. When he broke away, he pressed his forehead against your own, breathing softly as he sheepishly smiled.

“I was rambling.” He said, not even questioning it, because he knew.

“Uh-huh.”

“Sorry.”

“Don’t be.” You reached up, caressing his cheek, “it’s cute.” You pressed a quick peck against his lips, “you’re cute.” You couldn’t help but smile. “You’re really, really fucking cute, Jeremy - I hope you know that. Like,” you drew away from him slightly, giving the smallest amount of distance between the two of you, “I like watching you talk about stuff you’re passionate about, even if I don’t understand half of it sometimes.” He watched you, not interrupting for a second. “Like - I know literally nothing about that Dungeons and Dragons podcast you listen to, but you get so fucking happy when you talk about it, it’s so cute. Or when you talk about some shit that happened when you were playing Overwatch, you get so fucking starstruck, it’s cute-”

And then he kissed you, making you stumble back, pulling him with you as you fell. Pain sprawled throughout your back, Jeremy awkwardly pressed against you, and he pressed a soft kiss against your forehead as he kept asking if you were okay, to which you managed a nod.

“Are you sure? I think we have-”

“Shut up and kiss me, Jeremy.”

Life of the Movie Party

Prompt: Writing prompts #13: “Um, it’s not exactly a party … but you can come anyway, if you want.”

Fandom: Be More Chill

Pairing: Jeremy Heere X Reader

Summary: You hear your friends Michael and Jeremy making plans with lots of snacks and you can’t help but be curious. Good thing Jeremy just happens to have a giant crush on you and Michael is an awesome wingman.

Word Count: 3,035

Warnings: Some language? Mr. Heere in his bathrobe? Nothing really.

A/N: This takes place like pre-squip? I mentioned a few different movies, I tried to stick to the classics that most people have seen or heard of, but I don’t go into detail about them, so it’s fine if you haven’t seen them (definitely recommend them though). I don’t really know how this turned out, it’s my first time writing for Jeremy, so feedback would be appreciated! Thanks!

The day had actually got off to a pretty good start. You had enough time to eat breakfast that morning, and finished all of your homework last night, so you got to relax during your free period. It was probably the best day at school you’ve had for a while, and the fact that you had Friday off because of some teacher work day thing made the week even better. Especially since it was Thursday.

As you got your lunch and made your way to the table your two friends, Michael and Jeremy, were sitting at, you saw them talking excitedly about something. Setting down your tray and taking a seat across from the pair you tune into the conversation and hear a list of food.

“Chips, salsa, onion dip, and guac. Can’t forget guac. Um... “ Michael lists, counting on his fingers. “I can bring Takis, and some ice cream. Maybe some M&Ms. And definitely some slushies.”

“Damn, sounds like you guys are in for a night. Is Jeremy Heere hosting a party?” you tease, taking a bite of your lunch. Jeremy’s cheeks darken slightly and he starts to say something before closing his mouth and clearing his throat and starting again.

“Um, it’s not exactly a party … but you can come anyway, if you want.” He nervously rubs the back of his neck and Michael fails to hide a smirk.

“Alright, when should I bring brownies and cookies?” you ask, leaning forward onto your arms.

Jeremy starts to say something, but Michael cuts him off with a knowing look. “Be at his house,” he says gesturing towards Jerm, “sometime Friday before 1.”

“And what are we doing?”

“Movie Marathon. Make sure to bring a couple of your favorites, but they have to be sci-fi. We have to stick to the theme.” Michael said, taking a sip of his milk. You nod and Jeremy bites his lip, staring attentively at his lunch.

Michael talks about some of the movies he’s bringing and that seems to bring Jeremy back to the present. He interjects into the conversation and you brainstorm some of the movies you could bring. Listing off a few of your favorites, they all seem to be acceptable to the pair and so you move back to the food you can bring.

“Well I was going to drop Jerm off to go grocery shopping after school so he can pick up supplies. He’s the host after all.”

“Do you think I could go with you? To the grocery store? I need to pick up some supplies if I’m going to be baking tonight.”

“Yeah, it’s no problem,” Michael says, when Jeremy’s eyes widen. Kicking him under the table, “I’m sure he would be glad to have the company. I know how much you hate shopping alone, right Jer?” he asks with a pointed look.

“Y-yeah, I-I mean… I’m sure it’ll go by faster with company,” Jeremy splutters out before taking a big bite of his food. You nod and plan to meet the boys at the PT Cruiser after school. Then lunch is over and you’re off to your next class, mind full of thoughts of which recipe to get ingredients for.

The end of the day finally comes and you race to the Cruiser, list of needed ingredients in hand. You greet the boys before hopping in the backseat. The ride is mostly silent except for the Oasis playing through Michael’s speakers. You bob around to the beat and sing along with the two when “Wonderwall” starts playing.

Dropping you and Jerm off in front of the grocery store, he says he can come pick you back up in an hour to take you home. When you ask if he just wants to come in and help, he’s adamant that he would be of no help and pulls away before you can respond. After a quick wave, you turn to Jeremy and gesture to the front door.

“Shall we?” you ask. He gives a stiff nod and you grab a grocery cart, pushing it into the store. Walking past the produce you first head to the baking aisle. He trails behind you as you grab some of the things you need before turning to him. “What do you need? Everything else I want to grab is cold and should be left for last. So, you’re turn?” you say, stepping back from the cart allowing him to push.

He just nods again and starts pushing the cart, heading towards the cracker and chip aisle. Picking up some Ritz crackers and some Teddy Grahams. You also head down the candy aisle to grab some sweets. There isn’t much conversation as you make your way down the aisles, but it feels like Jeremy starts to relax more the longer you spend together. Soda is also grabbed before you finally head towards the cold section, where you split up and head to opposite sides.

You grab some milk while Jerm looks at cheese, and you put it in the cart before getting some eggs and cream cheese. You’re contemplating grabbing some whipped cream when Jeremy pushes the cart up behind you. Glancing at him, you can’t help but notice how sweet he looks just pushing a grocery cart, buying groceries. So domestic. Shaking those thoughts out of your head, you decide to get the whipped cream, and toss it in.

“That’s everything I need. Are you good?” he asks, looking between you and the cart. You nod and you make your way to the checkout. Deciding on self-checkout so you can split up the things you bought, you have a little bit of a hard time with the automated process, but Jerm helps you and you feel your cheeks heat up when his hand brushes yours a few times.

It didn’t help that one little old lady who decided to use the self checkout next to you complimented you two. “Aw, you make such a sweet couple!” she crooned, unpacking her groceries onto the shelf. You and Jeremy’s faces heated up and you just grabbed your bags and left with mumbled thanks.

You walk out of the store, groceries in hand just as Michael pulls up. He has a smug smile on his face and you give him a skeptical look as you put your groceries in the trunk and in the backseat. Climbing in, Weezer is now coming through the speakers as he drives you home.

Dropping you off with a wave and a reminder to be at Jeremy’s at one, you head inside your house and get to work baking. You make the brownies first, and then move on to cookies. You decide to make a few different kinds, just for some variety. Soon sugar and chocolate chip cookies lined your counter and you knew you would have enough for three teenagers.

You let them cool off while you made the frosting. Then you decorated the sugar cookies with the sweet topping and some sprinkles just for show. Carefully packing them up in a few containers you went to bed, excited for your date tomorrow. It’s not a date, stop thinking about it like that right now before you embarrass yourself. Technically it was a date on the calendar though, so you just told your brain to shut up.

Sleeping in the next morning, you get up when the birds just won’t shut up outside your window. Taking a shower to wake yourself up, you feel refreshed and ready for a lazy day of nothing but badass space and cool foreign creatures. You decide to grab Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, along with a few other ones that weren’t as popular but just as good.

Ensuring you have everything you need, movies, food, blankets and a pillow, you make the trek to Jeremy’s house. Arriving a few minutes before one, you knock on the door and are soon met with Mr. Heere in his signature bathrobe.

“Oh! (Y/N)! I didn’t know you were coming to movie day,” he adjusted his robe, “The boys are in the basement, so feel free to head down.” But then he noticed the baked goods in your arms. “I can stick some of those in the kitchen if you want, I’m sure you guys will want to save some of them for later.” He grabs one of the containers from you and ushers you in, pointing towards the basement stairs before hurrying off to do whatever it is he does.

Shaking your head, you heave out a sigh before heading down. As you descend the stairs you hear Michael and Jeremy talking. “Hello?” you call out, announcing yourself. The conversation ceases, and then Jeremy enters your line of sight, a smile lighting up his face.

“Hey,” he calls, grabbing some of the containers from you, setting them off with the other snacks. Michael comes over and inspects the movies you brought and nods at your selections. Jeremy comes and looks and his smile grows. “Nice choices, now we just have to vote for which one we want first.”

He shows you the pile that he and Michael had created and you each pick your favorite out of the pile, then drew straws for whose pick would be watched first. Michael’s pick was first, and you all settled in to watch Jurassic Park. Snacking on cheese and crackers and some of the cookies you brought, you watched as the T. Rex proved it was the king of beasts.

You all made comments throughout the movie, pointing out certain stupid tropes, complementing the special effects, and mimicking characters. Who would have thought that the best way to start a discussion about Jurassic Park would be to call it ‘next level zookeeping’ leading to the google search of the definition of ‘zookeeper’ and devolving from there into speculation of what science was really capable of. To put it mildly, you discussed this long after the credits.

After the first movie, and the following discussion, you took a bathroom and stretch break. You also tried to get your watching positions perfect by moving all of the cushions into one pile. Jeremy’s pick was next and he chose Lost in Space which was an ultimate classic. It was during that movie that you dug into the Takis Michael brought, and the guacamole for the chips.

The discussion after that movie was a little more frightening due to the fact that space travel was becoming an ever more present possibility. Especially with the 2020 mission to Mars being planned and Elon Musk’s ever growing repertoire of space vehicles and other technology. Then it devolved into the argument of alien life, which got a little hairy.

By the time the debate ended it was early evening. Letting out a yawn, you stretched and took another short break. Then it was time for your pick. Grabbing your choice, you stick it in the DVD player and settle in. About halfway through the movie, Mr. Heere comes down to check on you and see what you guys want for dinner. Pizza is the consensus and he leaves to go place the order, but not before complimenting you on your baking skills.

The movie starts again, and the pizza arrives right before the big climactic scene near the end of the film. Munching away as the movie reaches its peak action, you realize that this is probably the best marathon you’ve had, and it was definitely due to the company and the riveting, albeit silly, analysis.

When the movie was finally over, Michael had to head home. Saying goodbye, he left the basement. Turning to Jeremy you ask, “What movie do you want to watch now?” He splutters a little bit while sifting through the pile, unsure of what to choose. Finally he settles on Serenity, the movie that supposedly tied up the Firefly series. Nodding in agreement, he puts it in and you settle in once more.

As the movie plays, you feel your eyes start to get heavier and heavier, your full stomach and comfortableness acting against you. As you doze off, you feel a source of heat wrap around you and you can’t help but try to get closer to it, snuggling into the cozy being.

When you hear a loud noise, you’re startled awake. Blinking in confusion at your surroundings, you remember that you were at Jeremy’s house. You feel something tug on your waist and you realize that Jeremy’s arm is wrapped around you. Feeling your cheeks heat up, you try to get out of his grip, but find that he only pulls you closer with each failed attempt.

Letting out a sigh you know that you’ll have to wake him up if you want to move, but Jeremy just looks too peaceful to disturb. So you just return to your previous position and try to rest again. It’s easier than you thought it would be, and soon enough find yourself asleep again.

The next time you wake up, you can’t help the groan in protest that escapes you. You have no idea what time it is, but you assume it’s early with how groggy you feel. But you are soon wide awake when you feel the arm still around your waist. Turning to Jeremy it only causes him to pull you closer, nose burying into your neck.

You can’t help the squeak that escapes you, freezing at the contact. Jerm doesn’t seem to stir at the sound that released from you, and you breathe a sigh of relief. You try to relax back into his arms, but find it almost impossible with the nerves that slowly start to take over. You feel yourself stiffen even further, but Jeremy seems to subconsciously notice this and rubs at your waist in a soothing motion.

This calms you some and your eyes soon feel heavy again. Finding yourself snuggling back into Jeremy you fall asleep in his arms for the second time. That rest doesn’t last for long however, when you hear him groan in your ear what seems to be only a few minutes later. He wipes at his bleary eyes and is snapped back to reality when he realizes what position he’s in. Starting to shift nervously, you’re jostled awake with a small whine. Jerm freezes as you start to get up, but after you move away slightly, he rushes up saying something about breakfast, then he’s gone up the basement steps.

You let out a yawn and stretch your muscles before checking your phone. You have a text from your parents saying that Mr. Heere called and said you had passed out during the marathon and that you were welcome to stay the night. ‘Just a little check-in text in the morning when you get up please’ was all it meant, and you complied with a simple ‘Good morning’.

Yawning once more, you make your way up the stairs and head to Jeremy’s kitchen where he seems to be making pancakes, toast, and bacon. Giving him a tired smile, you take a seat at his kitchen table, resting your head in your hands as you wait. The smell of the food is driving you crazy, and your stomach seems to voice your thoughts to your dismay. Jeremy gives a small chuckle and you feel your cheeks heat up.

“It’s almost done. Do you want some juice or milk or anything?” You nod and he grabs you a glass as you poke around his fridge for some beverage. You gesture if he wants anything and grabs the juice you hand him, pouring some for himself. He hands you a plate before grabbing his own and sitting next to you at the table.

You eat in relative silence, and you actually get up for seconds which makes Jeremy smile. When you’re both done, you sit and finish your drinks and start to talk about some of the movies you watched and expanded on some of the theories and debates you had last night. Soon you’re laughing and joking and it’s just really peaceful. That is, until Mr. Heere enters the kitchen in only his robe again.

Jeremy’s cheeks burn as he tries to motion his dad out of the room, but as you glance at the time you realize that you should probably head home. When you bring this up to Jerm he seems somewhat happy, but also disappointed. He goes with you to the basement and helps you pack up the stuff you brought before walking you to the door. “Thanks for inviting me to movie day,” you say with a smile as you step outside, “I’ll text you later!” But as you’re about to walk down his front steps he calls out to you.

“Hey, uh, (Y/N)? Would you maybe, I don’t know, want to catch another movie with me on Sunday? Like, at the theater?” He starts rubbing at his neck nervously. After a brief pause he starts, “Y’know, forg--”

But you cut him off with an excited, “I’d love to! Um, swing by my house at 7? We can see that new one you’ve been excited about.” He seems shocked but still nods his head. Nodding in return you continue on your way down the path with a call over your shoulder of, “See you then Jeremy!” And then you were gone.

Jeremy shakes his head to himself. I can’t believe I actually did it. I asked (Y/N) on a date. Hell yeah! I can’t wait to tell Michael! Then he’s rushing to the phone to talk to his friend. Michael likes to say that he was the reason you two got together, and he’s partially right, but in the end it was really the movies that were the catalyst since you shared your first kiss in the movie theater that weekend.

Movie dates became a staple of your relationship after that, Jerm holding you in his arms as you watched. Snuggling and cuddling was also a fundamental part of that, so it just seemed right to curl up on the couch and just exist together for awhile. And you wouldn’t have it any other way.

You’re very welcome, it’s a great novel so! I’m glad more people are reading it after having run into this blog, I must spread the pureness that is Aech to all of humanity //shakes fists And yes! Mr. Reyes is Morrow, I can imagine him sort of contributing to the hunt with lots of theater related things, which Christine specializes in! Book!Squip is Halliday, and there’s actually a little more about that and his relationship with Jeremy that I want to get into later.

Oh nice!! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Ahhh hmm well if you like supernatural teen stories, there’s a series called Darkest Powers by Kelley Armstrong about this girl named Chloe who finds out she’s a necromancer after being sent to a “troubled teens” home, and she meets these boys named Simon and Derek who also have special abilities and then all sorts of crazy things happen! I first read it back in high school and I still love it a lot, so yeah it’s a trilogy and all of the characters are really great so! (I looooove Simon like. So much.) Check it out if you have the time, it’s a good read!

Yeah, I mentioned that up above! But Book!Squip takes over the role of Halliday, and musical Squip is Sorrento, of course~ Honestly I’d say like, probably the early 2000s, since that was when I was growing up and I can actually make references back to that time lol? I mean I love the 80s as well, just as it is in the book, but I feel as if I don’t know enough about that time period to actually. Make proper references and constantly. (I mean I could ask my parents who lived during that time too but;; haha.) Most of the stuff on here are me self-projecting, like with video games, books, and anime, that’s all me lol

YES!! OH MY GOD I’d probably die of sheer happiness if you guys cosplayed these dorks! If you want I could draw a character ref sheet so you actually get a proper look at their outfits! But yes I’d highly enjoy that;; like the cosplay doesn’t even have to be accurate I’d still love it anyway, and doing things like acting out some of the asks here (I’ve seen it be done before and it’s so cute!) would be totally okay too! But yeah as always TAG ME or submit it here so I can see it aaaa I’d love love LOVE that! ^^

(PLAUSIBLE) BMC AU’s

Y’know I gots me a hankering for some bmc au’s so why not make a post of plausible au’s that’ve been sitting on this thinking noggin for a bit now at 2 AM, shall we?

Siren au, or like, encantados/selkies oh shit oh man ima just put selkies in a section all by itself, lemme calm down here - something like sirens and humans or pirates and mermaids and sirens or sirens are guardians of a lake/body of water, that type of thing

Selkie/Encantado au - where one character is a selkie/encantado/shape shifter who is tied to a skin of their animal i can already imagine an adorable dolphin Michael

angels or literally anything with wings au - i love me some birb boys

arts or video game creators au - now jeremy and michael make the industry, following their passion of wha they love most; video games! and each other

ooh something like sao au - stuck in a video game (because that isnt overdone HA) everyone could be a different rpg class while still having lives outside of the game

reverse au (probably for those only dedicated to one of the gals) - christine wants to become more popular so that Jake will notice her, her best friend; Jenna heavily encourages her. Christine gets a SQUIP from Chloe, your typical high school bully and dates Michael to get to Jake. Jake however is falling in love with brooke. sadly Jeremy’s jealousy gets in the way, trying to win back brooke, the most popular girl in school or get his best friend’s attention back, who knows in the end Jake and Brooke break up and Christine almost squips the entire school, thankfully Jenna saves the day. (honestly this could be easily switched up but i liked the idea of Michael and Jerm as Brooke and Chloe)

now, kinda reverse auish not really - michael takes the squip with jeremy, both are then squipped WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?? idfk that’s for me to ponder aand you to maybe make

flowers - just, flowers

time traveler/ magical stranger au - one day a magical stranger whisks a character or two into the world of magic and time manipulation

kinda sorta more off of the last one only Michael takes the squip, maybe trying to convince Jerm that he shouldn’t have it (research beforehand? paranoia?) idk, what would happen next? would michael ditch jeremy for popularity (like a certain someone we know) or would he fight the squip? or would the squip be there to help his desires, lordy knows what those are tho

sweets au - this can either be two things

each bmc character is an anthropomorphic sweet, ex: Jeremy is a twinkie, Michael is a cinnamon roll, Christine is an angel’s food cake

OR it’s where they’re all in culinary school/own/compete in the confectionery industry (maybe have one of them like tea, i really like tea)
