Tumblr media
like most people, you felt rather intimidated when you met jeon wonwoo for the first time.
stoic, quiet, intelligent. the strong and silent type. that was the clear image you had of him. and to top it all off, he had the criminally good looks too. a relatively rare kind of man to come across, in your opinion.
though you began to see him in a different light after bonding with him over your shared love for video games. since then, you’ve discovered he can actually be quite talkative, cracking silly puns or laughing at the corniest dad jokes. he’s well-spoken and is actually very open about his feelings, which you found refreshing.
and while developing a friendship with him, you realized how much of a big softie he actually is, which paints quite the contrast compared to his cold and quiet persona he unintentionally seems to put up towards those outside his circle of close friends and family.
it reminds you of the day he asked you out — that sweet, shy smile on his face with rosy cheeks, all flustered and stuttering that you really don’t have to say yes if you don’t feel like it and he’ll push it all to the side like nothing happened if that’s what you’d prefer—
you very easily interrupted him by agreeing to go on a date with him. you’d never seen him smile wider.
wonwoo is cute when he smiles.
and despite his nervousness in the beginning, he still made efforts to be as talkative as he could and show you his interest in you, which you found very sweet. you had a great time with him, and you noticed rather quickly how comfortable you felt around him.
a couple dates later, he asked you if you wanted to be his girlfriend, and you certainly didn’t refuse him.
he’s also turned out to be a gentleman in his own way — subtly saying he could do certain things for you to make your life easier in that monotone voice of his, eyes following you around whenever he’s with you.
the first time he slept over at your place was rather recently after you two made it official. it wasn’t planned, since he was supposed to go back to his place after your date, but due to issues with public transport, you offered him to stay with you instead.
with his face and chest bare, he got into bed next to you. of course you’d imagined what he looked like underneath his big hoodies, but actually having him by your side like this was different.
and wonwoo was putting every bit of effort into playing it cool, even though he was freaking out to be sleeping next to his first girlfriend, forcing himself to look away from your tank top that left very little to the imagination.
yet ironically, it was all he could fantasize about before drifting to sleep.
normally, you’d only let a guy into your bed to do things other than sleeping once you’ve been dating for quite a while. it’s never been something you like to initiate quickly — but wonwoo’s been making you question it. severely.
because he looks so hot when he’s out on the field with his football team, when he’s working out, when he’s gaming on his pc, even when he just fucking smiles at you. the worst thing of it all might be that he doesn’t even seem the slightest bit aware of how attractive he is, nor what effect it has on you.
maybe you should really just tell him you want to jump him like a tree.
but you don’t want to rush him. for all you know, he doesn’t feel like doing that at all with you yet, and for some reason you just didn’t know when or how to ask him about it. later, you thought to yourself.
though you will say you’ve been pushing his buttons a little over the course of time. ever since that night, you’ve subtly been putting yourself on display for him. low-cut shirts and dresses so he can take a peek at your cleavage, accidentally exposing a bit of the fabric of your lingerie, sitting in his lap and rubbing up on him — unintentionally, of course.
it took every ounce of self-control in your body not to smirk when you felt him stiffen up underneath you.
the progress of your relationship has been nothing but positive, really. but you’re aching for him to just touch you at this point.
the day you hit your breaking point isn’t much later. you were trying on some newly bought dresses in front of him, one more revealing than the other — sundresses always work magic on men for whatever reason — and you turned around to find him pathetically trying to hide his hard-on while seated on your bed.
and you just couldn’t find it in you to wait any longer.
so that’s how you ended up sitting in his lap, hands on the back of his neck as you’re grinding against him. his glasses are sitting lop-sided on his nose, black locks messy from your fingers threading through them, lips swollen from your kisses.
the moment he feels your fingers tugging at his hoodie, he feels the need to clear up what he’s been meaning to tell you for a while now.
“i need to tell you something. i’ve—” he cuts himself off when he accidentally lets out a whimper, “i’ve never had sex with anyone.”
he’s still heavily breathing, looking at you in anticipation, and you just can’t escape the buzzing feeling you get from the idea of taking his virginity.
“do you want to?” you ask him, and how could he say no when you’re holding his face like this, looking at him like you’re willing to give him the ride of his life?
“yeah, yeah, i just—i usually don’t last very long,” he sheepishly admits, then internally asking himself why the fuck he would say that, “sorry, i’m nervous.”
but you think it’s endearing. “i don’t mind. we can always go for a second round, right?”
all he can do is nod his head in agreement. “i, i um—i’m not sure what to do next. i’m sorry, this is embarrassing.”
“it’s not, really. it’s not some big performance you need to put up, it’s something fun and exciting and intimate. you can go ahead and relax, and tell me if you like or don’t like what i’m doing.” you reassure him so patiently, which puts him at ease.
jesus — if anything, he’s already a whimpering, stuttering mess and you’re hardly even touching him.
so you move your hand down into his boxers, fingers wrapping around him to test the waters. he gasps in surprise once he feels you touching him, heat rushing to his cheeks.
“just let me take care of you, ‘kay? we can stop anytime.” you tell him, and he trusts you enough to let you go on.
you press another kiss to his lips before moving backwards, fingers taking a hold of the waistband of both his sweatpants and boxers.
the cold on his skin makes him shiver, but he’s hardly given the time to feel exposed in front of you when you’ve already got your hands on him, pleasantly surprised by his size.
“you’re so big, wonu.” you tell him in a sweet voice, feeling like you’re about to drool at the sight of him.
“didn’t think i was big.” he mumbles more to himself than to you, staring at the ceiling as he tries to steady his breathing.
you chuckle a little as you watch him. “you are. gonna have to work for it to make you fit into me.” the words make his eyes widen, images of you getting fucked by him flashing through his mind.
“fuck, really?”
“mhm. but you’ll do that for me, won’t you?”
wonwoo is absolutely crumbling underneath you here. the effect that your mere words have on him should be studied, because shit, he’s never felt this hot before. why is it so hot in here? is he sweating already? “yeah, i’ll—i’ll do anything you want me to.”
he’s such a sweetheart that it makes you want to ruin him.
for the sake of both his and your own pleasure, you decide not to tease any longer and touch his cock with your lips. he lets out a moan of surprise, the feeling being unfamiliar to him, but holy shit — this has got to be what heaven feels like.
his chest heaves as he tries to control his breathing once more, focusing on keeping his breathing by his stomach. your tongue darts out to lick his cock, and he whimpers, which makes you triumphantly smile a little.
you’re genuinely curious to see how long he can last, so you catch him by surprise by taking him into your mouth as far as possible, and his hand subconscously flies to the back of your head, and he doesn’t know whether he wants to push your head down or pull it back. he releases a choked moan, spurring you on to keep him lodged in your throat despite his efforts to pull you off him.
“fuck—please don’t make me cum already, baby, please—” he begs, loving the feeling of your mouth on him like that — he just doesn’t want to hit his peak that fast.
unfortunately for him, you do.
with your mouth currently no longer on him, you gently jerk him off instead, his hips automatically bucking into your grip. "what if i want you to?"
“you’ve barely—barely touched me. ‘s embarrassing.” he chokes out. the heat is still rushing to his cheeks. his hands are shaking.
of course he’s nervous. you’re his first time, his first girlfriend, it’s all new to him. he’s clearly afraid you might be turned off by him being all flustered like this.
so you make it your mission to show him it’s very much the opposite.
discarding your dress, you’re left in your tank top and underwear, nipples poking through the thin, white fabric. you move to tilt his face up with your glossy, acrylic nail, gently holding his chin, your face mere inches away from his.
“do you have any idea how wet i am? just from seeing you like this?” you ask, pulling his one hand down so he can feel the dampness of your panties. “bet you could slip right in.”
a broken whimper slips out of his mouth when he feels it. he didn’t know you were this turned on.
you push his head and upper body back against the pillows, making him lie down fully, and you’re just so eager to suck the life out of him.
the feeling of your warm mouth and tongue around him makes him experience a sensation he didn’t think was possible. christ, this must be what heaven feels like.
“oh my god—you’re so fucking good.” he’s arching his back with his eyes tightly shut from the pleasure you’re giving him. it’s only when you take him as far in your throat as possible that the first guttural groan is ripped from the depths of his chest. it’s a low, sexy sound that makes you clench around nothing.
he’s burning hot under you, causing his glasses to fog up a little. he carelessly throws the pair onto his nightstand, the grip on the back of your head becoming harsher and less gentle than before, because he’s that fucking close now.
it’s cute seeing wonwoo not knowing what to do with himself. keeping your mouth on his cock, gripping the sheets, throwing his head back before he casts his eyes back down to watch you suck him off — it’s like he’s being overstimulated in the best way possible.
it’s enough for you to sense he’s close, which makes you take your mouth off him to jerk him off instead, all so you can watch him chase his release. “that’s it, wonu, give it to me.”
there’s a sudden shiver that runs from his back and core all the way down to his toes. he tenses up, unintentionally grabbing your wrist to stop your movements as he trembles and his body gives in to his orgasm.
once he’s coming down from his high, he looks at you like you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to him.
“that was… holy shit.” he laughs a little to himself, eliciting a chuckle from you.
“i’m that good, huh?”
“yeah.”
“wanna keep going?”
“mhm.”
“okay. take off your shirt.”
wonwoo blinks for a moment. he practically forgot he was still wearing one, so he sits up and gets rid of the black shirt, throwing it beside your bed, now completely bare before you.
if he’s being honest, you did ease his nerves by letting him have his first orgasm already. the strange sense of shame he previously felt has disappeared into the air, with only nervous excitement left.
he feels good.
especially when he watches you move to sit on your knees on the bed, removing the tank top and slipping out of your underwear.
his eyes are glued to your naked body, hardly able to look away — that is, until you sit down in his lap, your dripping heat touching his hardening dick, making him twitch under you.
“where do you keep your condoms?”
the question forces him out of his constant staring at your body. “uh—nightstand.” he mutters, taking the initiative to reach and get it himself.
thankfully, he manages to get it on himself quickly. you urge him to lie back down again while you position yourself above him, shamelessly staring at his strong chest and broad shoulders.
his mouth is agape when you sink down on him, and fuck, he’s in so deep.
the stretch burns, especially because you didn’t get yourself ready, but you’re so dripping wet to the point you don’t care — you need him in you.
wonwoo notices you struggle despite your arousal. “you don’t have to take me all the way if it hurts.”
you hum, a half-smirk creeping onto your face. “but it hurts so good. so i will.”
once he’s sheathed fully inside you, he’s subconsciously holding his breath. the anticipation for you to move is killing him. the sensitivity of his dick makes him whimper, his lashes fluttering as his teeth sink into his lower lip in a failed attempt to hold it together.
you decide to tease him a little by clenching down on him. his hands fly to your hips, gripping the skin harder than intended from the sudden feeling, his breathing becoming erratic again. “hah—don’t do that, please, i don’t wanna cum yet baby—please.”
“why? you close?” you ask him with an innocent face, knowing damn well what you’re doing to him.
“yeah. need you so bad.” he answers truthfully, his ego and pride nowhere to be found anymore. whether he sounds pathetic or not, he doesn’t give a shit. all he knows is that you’re sitting on top of him and he needs you to make him feel what he’s been desperate to feel for so damn long.
so you tilt your head. “‘s okay, wonu. i’ll give it to you.”
he can hardly even make out a response before you lift your hips and proceed to sink back down on him, your hands on his chest. a filthy moan rolls past his lips — you think it’s the best sound you’ve ever heard in your damn life.
then you begin to roll your hips, and he sucks through his teeth from the feeling, a mix of overstimulation and pleasure rushing through him. once you let out your first dragged-out moan, his fingers twitch for a moment, digging deeper into your skin.
“have you thought about this? fucking me?”
despite the position he’s in right now, he still feels his face heat up when you ask him dirty things like that, even more so when he answers them.
“yeah, i did.”
“when? tell me. i wanna hear it.” you tell him, and when you’re so gorgeously riding him like this, how could he not oblige?
wonwoo swallows, stuttering as he focuses on recalling the memories while admiring you and the feeling you’re letting him experience. “when i saw you wearing that short skirt on our second date, and—and that time you came to watch me at the football game. couple of my teammates were drooling over you. so was i.”
his words turn you on, because you doubted whether you were sensing actual jealousy from him that night, and this confirms it.
“were you?” you ask, running your nails down his stomach. “what’d you do about it?”
he bites his lip. “i’ll sound like a pervert if i answer that.”
teasing him again, you push yourself down on him almost harshly, relishing in the way he gasps under you. wonwoo is wonderfully responsive in bed, and you’re having a fucking field trip with it.
“yeah? try me.”
“i touched myself after getting home, and i... thought about you. in that skirt.”
“i’ll wear it for you next time.” you smile, watching him close his eyes in pleasure when you leave your marks on his chest, putting a few hickeys on his neck and collarbone on purpose. “i touched myself thinking of you, too.”
that makes him twitch inside you, which is exactly what you wanted.
his hands dip to the curve of your ass, following your movement. “really?”
“mhm. i thought you looked so sexy in your football attire. you were wearing that tight compression shirt that you always wear when you go to the gym too — drove me nuts, wonu.” you confess, which seems to work as a brief shot of adrenaline for him.
he moves to sit up, bringing your bodies closer together by looping his arms around your waist, the slight change in position making you moan.
the drag of his cock inside you is slowly making you go insane. your face is hot and you’re dripping wet for him, sucking him in to the point you feel like you need to claw at the walls.
“god, feels so good.” he mutters, his mouth finding your breasts before he begins to suck on the skin like a man starved.
once he notices you’re both getting closer, but you’re getting tired from your position on top, he takes a breath and flips you over, now hovering above you.
burying his face in the crook of your neck, he holds onto your body and fucks you. his thrusts are harder than he intends them to, the control over his body lost in his relentless drive to make you both feel good.
he’s panting hard, doing everything in his power to make you cum first this time while indulging in his own pleasure as well. “am i doing good for my first time? does it feel good?”
god, you can only half-catch the words with the way he’s fucking you. it’s almost funny — such a sweetheart he is, asking you if he’s doing well while simultaneously fucking you into oblivion.
“you’re so good, wonu. so good—‘m so close.” you cry out, manicured nails digging into his back, making him groan.
“wanna feel you cum around me so bad.” the words almost sound like a plea, like he’s begging you for it.
then he kisses your neck, and he hits the perfect spot inside you over and over, and it’s enough to make you clench so hard around him that he can’t hold it any longer. your orgasm makes your legs shake, and he fucks you right through it, making you wonder why the hell it took the universe so long to let him into your life.
he moans and whines and shakes when he hits his climax, twitching inside you, filling up the condom. with heavy breaths, he lets his body rest on top of you, his head by your collarbone, a comfortable silence emerging as your heartbeats slow and breathing steadies.
surprisingly, it’s him who speaks up first.
“i’m gonna need a while for my legs to start working again.” he chuckles breathily, covering his face a little when he notices you poking fun at him.
“aw, baby, did i drain you that much?”
“i genuinely can’t even feel my limbs.”
you laugh at him, pressing a kiss to his cheek, and he smiles so sweetly — as if he didn’t just fuck the living daylights out of you. “wanna go again?”
he blushes a bit, tilting his head as if he has to think about it, before sheepishly giving you his answer.
“... yeah.”

" i already have the world "
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing : jeon wonwoo x gn!reader
"13 ways to say "i love you" with seventeen"
warnings : none
word count : 0.5 k
a/n : unsure if i'm happy with this , but the writers block was BAD and so i ended up falling victim to the gamer!wonwoo trope
Tumblr media
You truly wonder how Wonwoo still finds it in himself to wake up as early as he does to make his various schedules. Especially when it's already two in the morning yet he's still locked in on his computer screen, furiously clicking away. Meanwhile, you're walking a very thin line of consciousness.
If it weren't for the giant glowing monitor and the voices shouting through Wonwoo's headset, you probably would've lost your battle against sleep by now. And judging from the increasingly irritated shouts of Seungcheol and Jihoon for Mingyu to "go left," it sounds like Wonwoo's team is losing theirs.
"Your other left, idiot," You just barely make out Jihoon's exhausted words. "Wonwoo, please help him, you're closest."
"Yeah, I'm already on it. Someone cover me–" There's a pause, then a sad tune plays and you force your eyelids back open just wide enough to catch the giant "LOSE" written across the display. "Never mind, good game."
"It was most definitely not," Seungcheol complains.
"One more round?" Mingyu asks, even though this is their fifth "one more round."
"Yeah, just give me a minute and we can start," Wonwoo says before promptly muting his mic. He nudges you with his shoulder, earning a very unamused groan back in response.
"You can go to bed if you want," he chuckles.
"Alone?" You whine, which only makes him laugh more.
"You're right, what a ridiculous idea," he teases. "This is the last one for real this time, promise."
You're head falls to Wonwoo's shoulder with a sigh. He readjusts, allowing you to rest more comfortably. With your newfound pillow, sleep easily consumes you.
Your breathing slows down to a steady pace almost instantly and Wonwoo glances down with a soft chuckle. "I'm sorry I kept you up," he whispers, placing a feathery kiss on the top of your head.
He unmutes his mic. "Hey, sorry guys, I'm gonna log off for the night."
"What? Dude, we're just about to start. Please don't leave me with Seungcheol and Jihoon!" Mingyu urges. Wonwoo contemplates it, a match would only be around twenty minutes. But one more look at your sleeping form and that thought is gone as soon as it comes.
"Sorry, it's late, good luck though."
"Wait!" Mingyu tries again. "What if I buy you lunch tomorrow?"
"Goodnight, Mingyu."
"A coffee? Your favorite pastry from that bakery half an hour away? The world? What's it gonna take?"
"Mingyu, stop being dramatic and let the man go to bed." Seungcheol chastises.
Wonwoo secures his arm around your waist and pulls you against him when he notices your head slipping from his shoulder. An action that makes you snuggle further into his side in your unconscious state. Perhaps his heart has gone a little soft, but no offer could possibly amount to the moments like these he gets to spend with you.
So while lunch and a coffee is a tempting offer, it simply doesn't compare. "Besides," he says in a last goodbye into the mic. "I already have the world."

“Gosto quando você me trata assim.”

Cherry // Wonwoo one shot
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
DESCRIPTION: His past was constantly haunting his thoughts, and he knew he deserved it. But he also didn't think that his past was much closer than he thought. PAIRING: Wonwoo x Reader GENRE: Angst
by popular demand, this is second part to champagne problems
Tumblr media
"Hey did you get my Slack?"
His coworker looked up from his computer, meeting his eyes as he stood at the doorway of his office.
Lunch had finally rolled around and him and the friends he made in his department had made it a habit to spend their break together every Friday. It was his team leader, Jeonghan's turn to pick the restaurant and Wonwoo had taken the initiative to ask him where today's meal was going to be at.
Jeonghan was typically quick with his replies, but as his message remained unseen by his coworker, Wonwoo decided to head over to his office and ask him in person.
It was Friday, anyways. The emails and tasks can wait for Monday... or at least later after he had some sort of food in his stomach.
"Shit." Jeonghan slapped his hand on his forehead. "Completely forgot to let you guys know. My girlfriend is bringing lunch today."
Ah yes, the mystery girl his team lead claimed to be dating.
It had been a year since Wonwoo joined the team, and like the other two on their team, he had yet to meet the girl that had always been Jeonghan's topic of conversation. He had always talked about her but kept most of the details about her in secret – earning teasings from Joshua that the girl probably didn't exist.
Jeonghan was very private with his personal life, rarely allowing his work friends in on who he was outside of the company building.
Like a true Libra.
"Are we finally meeting her?" Wonwoo cracked a smile. He and the rest of their small team had always been quite curios of Jeonghan's significant other. Especially with how highly he spoke of her – as if he worshipped the ground she walked on.
They had always joked that he resembled the heart-eyes emoji anytime he spoke about the woman that had brought the light into his life.
And of course, Jeonghan didn't care for these light hearted comments; agreeing with them. He was clearly in love and no amount of teasing could embarrass him.
Jeonghan chuckled. "Maybe. Are you guys leaving soon?"
Wonwoo shrugged. "Haven't decided where to go."
"I'll be sure to introduce you guys to her." He smiled.
・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.
He knew that voice from anywhere.
Though, the last time he's heard it, it didn't sound like this. It sounded broken, riddled with pain and tears.
At least, the last time he's heard it in person.
He could still hear it when he was alone with his thoughts, when there was stillness in his life, in his dreams. That voice was cheerful and bright in his head, replaying all the times she had called him "baby" and peppered his face with kisses.
Wonwoo felt his body grow cold – his ear zeroing in on where the source was coming from.
He was hoping that his guess was wrong.
It can't be.
Falling behind Joshua and Seungcheol's steps, Wonwoo slowly put one front in front of the other as they made their way to Jeonghan's office.
They had left for lunch shortly after his conversation with Jeonghan nearly an hour ago, unable to catch a glimpse of the so called girl of Jeonghan's dreams. Being equally as nosey as him, Joshua had somehow convinced Seungcheol to rush through their meal so that they could at least say hi to her.
Wonwoo felt the rice bowl he ate make it's way back up, leaving an acidic taste in his mouth as her voice grew louder with each step he took. He wanted to make a run for it. He wanted to make up an excuse.
But somehow, he couldn't.
It was almost as if her voice had hypnotized him, his brain unable to fight his legs from moving forward.
"Oh, they're here." Jeonghan smiled, standing from his seat to greet his department members standing at his doorway.
The girl's back was still turned when Wonwoo caught sight of her, sitting on the chair opposite of Jeonghan's desk.
She didn't need to turn around for him to know who it was. Her hair may be much longer this time, but he knew that figure.
He knows the way she sat, her posture, her style.... That scent.
Chloe eau de parfum. Her signature scent.
She still used it.
It was as if he was transported back in time – his knees buckling under him.
Reaching for the napkin by her plate, she wiped her lips before turning around to greet the three men her boyfriend had told her about.
"Y/n." She smiled, bringing her hand out to shake theirs – starting from Seungcheol's end.
Wonwoo sucked in a deep breath once she got to him, pulling his best smile as he felt her touch again. It was brief but it was more than enough for him – feeling her hand fit into his.
Just like old times.
He thought the pain he felt that god forsaken night was the worst he could ever experience in his life – but this was far worse. It felt as though he could feel and hear everything all around him as he watched her make small talk with the two men by his side, all while Jeonghan's arm casually slung around her hips.
Wonwoo wasn't listening to a single thing they were saying. He was far too busy battling his mind's attempts to put him in fight or flight mode.
All those times Jeonghan spoke about the girl he hopes to marry, claiming he knew she was the one the second he dropped her off after the first date, the girl he had recently moved in with, the girl he had bought a puppy for as Christmas present – it was her.
It was the girl he had broken all those years ago.
Wonwoo absentmindedly reached up to the black fabric around his neck, pulling it loose away from him as he felt his airway grow tighter – his chest heaving as the air around him became thin.
"You okay?" She eyed him.
He blinked back his thoughts, sending her a smile and nod. "Yeah." He coughed.
"You look like you saw a ghost." Joshua added with a chuckle.
He did.
Ghost of his past.
The one that haunted him every day for the past three years.
Any time he ordered coffee, he thought about how she was the one that had recommended him that soy milk was a far better option than whole milk. Whenever he would go out for groceries himself, he would remember all the times she would walk alongside the cart as he pushed it – allowing her to talk him into steering away from the list they had put together.
There wasn't a single day when he didn't think of her. Everything he did, it always came back to her.
Wonwoo couldn't help but think if she had done the same with Jeonghan.
Did he also prefer iced soy lattes despite the nearly freezing temperature because she had shown him that it was better than burning his tongue?
Did he also laugh at all her sneaky attempts to put snacks into their grocery carts?
Did she also wake him with her cold toes in the middle of the night, seeking warmth from his legs because no matter how much he cranked the heater up – it wasn't enough to raise her body's internal temperature?
Did she also take him around to her parent's home to show off the paintings they have collected over time? Especially the one he had bought for them for their 15 year anniversary?
Did Jeonghan know about him?
"Alright, I gotta go." She clapped, glancing at the clock on the wall. "It was great seeing you all."
Y/n's eyes lingered on his, a warm smile on her lips.
All the pain, the anger, the suffering behind her eyes were gone – she had forgiven him.
It was great seeing you. It was for him.
Wonwoo didn't know if this was much worse than her being angry at him. In his head, he chose to believe that she still saw him as a villain – the man that ripped her heart out and stomped on it.
Because in his head, he was the villain. He still and will always beat himself up for what he had done to her.
To them.
He was the monster that took their perfect relationship and destroyed it.
Wonwoo didn't know how, but she found a way to move on. While he had yet to forgive himself for his mistakes, stuck in the past and clinging on to the only thing he knows – she had not once turned back.
Just like that night.
Y/n kept moving forward and left him all alone to wallow in what they once were.... and what they could have been.
"I'll call you after work, baby." Y/n bid Jeonghan goodbye as placed a kiss on her temple.
Baby. A simple pet name that carried so much weight.
She once called him that.
That title was once his.
That sweet voice, the one that was music to his ears, calling someone else the words he wished he heard every day.
The heart buried deep in his stomach had fallen out, shattering into millions of pieces. He couldn't suppress his emotions any longer, he felt as though his chest was going to burst.
Wonwoo hurriedly excused himself to his office, leaning against the now shut door – finally letting out the sob that threatened to escape his throat just a few seconds ago.
This must have been what she felt when she had found out that he had sinned against her.
He deserved it. All of it.
This was the bed he made himself and he had no choice but to lie in it

“We shouldn’t be doing this,” murmured Jeon Wonwoo as he greatly contrasted his uttered words when he sinks teeth into the flesh of your shoulder, adding another splotch of red to the array he’s left all over your chest.
You mirrored his sentiment, but did not speak it aloud. Instead, you let your body betray you as well, bucking your lower frame against his with your fingers threading through his dark curls, pulling him impossibly closer than he already was.
Wonwoo groaned, his warm breath caressing your skin, and his hands gripped your waist to pin you back down onto the mattress for his hips to dig deeply into yours. You feel him growing heavily against your clothed, throbbing core, and you let out a whimper both at the relieving pressure of it and at how it’s immediately not enough.
“Shit, you’re driving me crazy,” he grunted, tearing his mouth away from your neck to stare you down, lust a glimmering onyx in his eyes. “This is the last time I’ll ask you. Are you sure you want this?”
No, you wanted to say. No, because I’ll miss you again when it’s over. The pain that came after it all was excruciating. It blooms in your chest, slowly searing through your veins until you’re consumed whole and forced to feel nothing else. You’ll be haunted again once he walks out your door, seeing wisps of his smile when you shut your eyes and hearing the echoes of his laughter when the room goes still. No, you did not want it, but this was the closest you’ll get to having what you both once had. You wanted that again. You wanted more than this.
But again, you did not speak it aloud. You reached for his face and pulled him in for a kiss and let it all fade—the worry, the fear, and the pain. You focused on the feeling of his mouth, how you once believed it was a perfect fit on yours and how it still was. There was a moment of hesitation from Wonwoo before he’s easing up on you, having your lips meld in tandem with each other in a steady rhythm.
Then you’re removing clothing off of each other’s heated bodies, leaving them strewn all over your bedroom floor without so much of a care. You’re still kissing him when he aligns himself at your weeping slit, then you’re parting your lips with a broken moan when he slips inside. He moves quickly to press kisses against your face, thumb swiping at a stray tear trickling down your cheek, as sweet praises fall from him.
“That’s it, angel,” he whispered over your ear before placing his lips against your forehead. “Relax for me a bit more, okay? You’re doing so well.”
You’re sobbing into his shoulder, sounding like an absolute mess of babbles, but you could not help it when you finally felt so complete. The hollow ache carved deep inside you was repleted to the brim, healing everything marred by the pain of your yearning. You let yourself savor it all, trying to commit every feeling to memory, because at the end of it all, you knew it was all temporary. No matter how many times you fall into bed with Jeon Wonwoo, the pleasure was fragile and fleeting, and you’d always be left alone more wounded than you were at the beginning.
“Are you okay?” Wonwoo asked softly, cradling your cheek with his palm, concern scrawled over his face.
You nod, trying for a smile with quivering lips as you lean into the warmth of his hand. “I am,” you said, voice cracking. “I’m okay. You can move now.”
He gave you an apprehensive look, unbelieving. But you quickly flatten your soles out on the bed as leverage as you begin to slowly fuck yourself up on him, to distract him from seeing past your crumbling self.
“Fuck,” Wonwoo exhaled out shakily, sparing a moment just to watch yourself use him so desperately, completely at awe and completely turned on by it all. After a few very messy strokes you make, he takes the reins, grabbing your thighs to spread them widely apart before pounding hard into you. His ruthless pace trembles your bones and you could do nothing but let him abuse your cunt as you whine high in pitch and volume.
“Still so tight,” Wonwoo groaned, face pressed against your throat as he began to mouth at it, sucking and licking at your pulse points. “You haven’t let anyone else fuck your cunt, haven’t you?”
Your confirmation came out as an airy mewl, your arms thrown over his torso and nails digging into the muscled expanse of his back, drawing red angry lines all over.
The next thing he says catches you off guard, completely throwing you in a loop of great disarray and bliss. “This pussy is still mine, yeah?” Wonwoo had growled, emphasizing with a hand brought to press down hard on your clit. “All mine?”
You’re gasping, arcing into him with pleasure singing throughout your body. “Yes!” you sob out again. “It’s yours. All yours, Wonwoo. I’m all yours.”
When that last sentence left your lips, you’re immediately alarmed with a sharp intake of breath, your gaze frantic as you search Wonwoo’s face. But Wonwoo wore a smile, eyes glinting. Before you could really take in what that had meant, his fingers worked deft circles on your clit and his hips angle just right to brush against the golden nerves settled deep in you.
It was messy. Moisture daubed the dips and curves of your bodies as you continued to seek after your own highs. Wonwoo’s movements had become increasingly heedless by the second, almost animalistic. The repeated, pointed thrusts against the nerves inside you had you sobbing into Wonwoo’s neck once again. The clenching, warm walls around Wonwoo had him heaving, his chest staggering.
Then, your eyes meet. Reflecting flames of want flared.
Wonwoo pressed against you hard, fitting snugly inside as he painted your inner walls with thick, hot cum. The moan that left Wonwoo was both lecherous and heavenly at the same time, his large frame completely maddened by violent tremors of his orgasm.
You were just as gone, your eyes rolled up all the way to your skull. When you feel his warm release, your lust and greed are quick to possess you. Your hips lift again and ride out the waves of Wonwoo’s orgasm, milking out every single drop of cum out of his system. Wonwoo, though completely overtaken by his bliss, meets your pace albeit very sloppily but determined. It only takes a couple of more strokes until a vicious shudder ricochets throughout your body. Your mouth goes slack with one last cry of Wonwoo’s name, your cunt pulsing violently around the still-spurting length as your own arousal gushes out, making a mess between your heaving bodies.
It’s silent for a while, only the sound of your breathing and his breaking through the air. Your bodies, slicked of sweat and mixed arousals, were heavy with exhaustion, barely moving as you both splay out on the mattress beside each other. You looked at each other and an air of uncertainty floated around you, just like it had many times before.
You were about to break the gaze away first, to head first into your bathroom to clean yourself up and save yourself from the sight of Wonwoo leaving. But for the second time that night, Wonwoo catches you off guard and reaches a hand out to hold onto your wrist.
“Stay,” he said. A word you wish you had said since the day you both decided to end your relationship. An action you wished he had done.
“Wonwoo,” you start off shakily.
“Just for while,” he insisted, eyes pleading. “Please?”
You chew on your bottom lip, hesitating. But your heart gave out in the end, and you lay right back down, inside the comforting cage of Wonwoo’s arms.
“I’m sorry,” Wonwoo breathed, pressing his lips against your temple. “I’m so sorry.”
“I’m sorry too,” you whispered back and nestled closer into his warmth, concealing your teary gaze away.
There, you lay together enveloped in silence, matching the rise and falls of each other’s chest, and settle in the flickering embers of the love you had for one another.
note: woof. i know this was random, but i feel like i had to get the angst out of me to move on to other writings. this is completely self-indulgent and written in one go. so once again, this is not proofread. i hope you enjoyed reading nonetheless :)

It was silent. Nothing but the low hum of his radiator whirring somewhere in the background, serving as the sole ambience to fill the dreadful, awful silence that plagued the dingey, rundown apartment. He sat on his couch, the rough material scratching along the back of his neck as he looked up at the ceiling with this dazed, thousand mile stare. The haze of delirium had haunted him for days now, at first merely muddling his thoughts into this droning ambiguity that left him empty and monotonous. Though soon it seeped into the outer edges of his character, skin paling like death, lips settled into a permanent scowl, eyes clouded with no emotion—or perhaps that look was him drowning and wrought with every emotion his feeble mind could conjure up.
There were specks of happiness dabbled in the disordered web of thoughts in his mind. They derived from the lot of memories in the archives of his head, playing on repeat and reminding him of better days.
Tumblr media
When he first met (y/n), bemused by the sight of this girl dressed to the nines yet soaked to the bone. A flimsy jacket, just as drenched as she, lay helplessly above her head as a makeshift and utterly unsuccessful umbrella of sorts from the storm raging outside. He watched her carefully, glancing every so often as he wiped away at the counter. She at first stood there, taking in her surroundings with what seemed to be a mixture of confusion and awe. Though soon, she seemed to catch her bearings as she navigated over to his bar, carefully sliding onto a booth as if it were an entirely new contraption to her.
"What's your poison?" He asked her as he made his way to her side. The sound of his voice had startled her greatly, as she near jumped out of her seat, head whirling to face the sudden addition to her solitude.
"I'm sorry?" She replied. Her own voice was far too soft for a bar setting, though he was thankfully able to catch on to her and the utterly hopeless stare she gave him. With a soft chuckle, he leant over the bar, drawing as close as he could to her without invading her space.
"What drink can I get you?"
She was quiet at first with this stunned expression, blinking at him in a stupor. Quickly shaking her head, she averted her gaze to the countertop.
"I'll just have water please."
A simple request, though he couldn't really argue, merely filling a glass with water and sliding it over.
"Can I at least get you a lemon to top off your beverage?"
"Sure," She replied, a small smile spreading across her face at his inquiry, and he felt just the slightest bit accomplished in his duties as a bartender.
Again, he watched her carefully as he continued with work and as she nursed the drink before her. She had finally shed the useless article of clothing from her head, placing it in her lap with a defeated sigh. She really was quite overdressed for a bar setting, wearing a designer dress suited more for a business meeting than for day drinking. It only served to further pique his curiosity, and as the time passed by and the rain outside refused to let, he saw his moment to answer his questions.
"So what brings you to this fine establishment? Aside from the obviously satisfying atmosphere." He smiled to himself as she chuckled at his mannerisms.
"As much as I love this fine establishment so far," she began, widening his smile at her own jests, "it was the first place I could run into when the rains started." He hummed, still looking at her with unwavering eyes, and she attempted to meet his strong gaze, though faltered at the end. With a sigh, she continued, falling under the silent peer pressure of his eyes urging her to continue. "I attended a meeting for my dad. It didn't really agree with me, so I left. Before I could catch a ride home, it started raining, so I ran here."
"Sounds like a pretty rough day." She agreed with a nod, fingers absentmindedly tracing over the condensation clinging to her glass. He could see she was trying to shrink away from his presence, though he was never one to back down. "How about I give you a ride home?"
"Pardon?"
"My shift's just about to end now. I'd hate to leave you here knowing you're trapped 'cause of the rain." She looked at him again with that same stunned appearance as she had when he first made his presence known to her. Sparkling eyes with this dazed nature to them, as if not fully there at the moment—entrenched in her thoughts with nowhere else to direct her attention. The realization brought another grin to his face, and he waited expectantly for her answer to arrive.
"I don't even know your name, though." Her words were laced with hesitancy, as if not even she was fully committed to the concluding limitations she had made of his offer. Because he knew it was a good deal for her, and for him, as a part of him truly didn't feel right leaving her all alone without knowing for a fact that she was safe at home.
"Wonwoo." He replied easily, sliding his hand over to her. Her eyes had watched the movement, lingering on him for a moment more, before she slid her own hand into his in a subtle, noncommittal handshake. "I can't take a stranger in my car though. What's your name?"
Another chuckle out of her, and another boost to Wonwoo's ego for the day.
"(y/n)."
Tumblr media
It was out of character for him, as he usually pays no mind to drifters of any sort, though he can't find it in himself to ever regret having stepped out of his comfort zone to bring a smile to her face that day. And what had started as a mere happenstance crossing of paths had soon morphed into frequent visits with (y/n) wandering into the bar and waiting for Wonwoo to serve her a drink before taking her home.
It was near inevitable for the two to grow feelings for one another, and soon blossom a relationship.
Wonwoo felt the corners of his lips twitch up just the slightest bit, remembering how nervous (y/n) had been to ask him out one of the days he dropped her off home. The memory of how she avoided his gaze, fiddled with her hoodie, stumbled over her words, and all he did was sit there and wait patiently, heart bursting at the seams at the sight of her trying to profess her love in some meaningful way on a random Tuesday evening.
It had all been so heavenly at the start. His apartment was small and old, yet she brought this vitality to it that made him feel more alive everyday. The kitchen which once was strictly for sustaining his nutrients now became a haven where the two cooked anything and everything together. The living room which was once merely a middle ground for him to pass the time by with nothing better to do was now where they spent their days watching movies and talking to each other endlessly. The bedroom where he once fell asleep and woke up as is became his sanctuary, where he could fall asleep and wake up to the sight of her right beside him.
Though now as he recounted these memories, that happiness in him soon twinged into a bittersweet sadness, wincing at the reminder of when it had all started going wrong.
Tumblr media
Wonwoo had become well aware of (y/n)'s background in living a comfortable life with her family's old money. How could he not with how flippant she seemed to be with her finances. He had been initially concerned with the steady stream of money she tossed away at things he'd deem inconvenient or unnecessary, though it all started to make sense in due time. The way (y/n) went about life with such little worries, at times even seeming naive in Wonwoo's eyes. Though it never bothered him. He was always glad to be there for her. To help her in things she didn't understand, be the helping hand as she experienced many firsts in the world, and he could tell she was just as happy to have him by her side helping. A mutualistic relationship, in which both parties thrived in each other's differences.
At that point was when Wonwoo knew he was in love, and he hadn't hesitated in telling (y/n) that on a random night where they debated what to watch and wound up deciding on perhaps the worst B-movie they've ever seen. Through their fits of laughter, tears in their eyes and stomachs sore, Wonwoo took a moment to admire (y/n) as she was. Freshly showered and smelling of his body wash, adorned in his old raggedy clothes, bright eyed and smiley, absolutely jubilant in his arms. It was an undeniable fact. Something he couldn't refute, nor anyone else for that matter.
“I love you.”
(y/n) had glanced up at him, laughter slowly dying down, though her smile remained in place, only growing by the second as she processed his words.
“Really?” He nodded, lips tugging up at her infectious giggles bubbling up as she nestled closer to him. “I love you, too.”
It had only taken a few weeks after their confession for her to deem it acceptable to introduce him to her family, which is how Wonwoo found himself at the doorstep of an imposingly large manor, adorned with his old button up that had been tossed in the back of his closet, and a bouquet of flowers in hand.
The mother was the first to greet them as they entered the house, appreciatively accepting Wonwoo's floral offering. Next had been her grandmother, who had been absolutely floored by Wonwoo’s looks, praising the Lord above for her granddaughter having found such a good looking man.
Then he met her father. A man who seemed to be the epitome of stoicism. A permanent scowl was etched into the aged lines on his face, and every advance on Wonwoo’s part was greeted by a cold glare and an indifferent grunt. None of the others were in any way taken aback by his mannerisms, however, and so Wonwoo could only assume this was just how his character was.
Some days had passed since the initial meet and greet, and Wonwoo found himself being unexpectedly invited once more to the manor by none other than the man of the house. How he had obtained his number was beyond him, but upon the request of a one on one session between the two, Wonwoo couldn't really care less about the ordeal of his privacy, merely relieved at the possibility that he hadn't completely ruined his reputation with his significant other's father.
Or so he was led to believe.
“I'm sorry?” Wonwoo spoke, voice low and barely above a whisper, yet strained as he attempted to piece together the sudden turn of events without outright creating a potentially unnecessary fiasco in this man’s office.
“I want you to break up with my daughter.”
Okay, so he hadn't heard wrong. He truly was just given the demand to break up with his girlfriend for seemingly no reason. Shocked couldn't even begin to explain the emotions swirling in his head, mouth agape as he attempted to make any semblance of the situation at hand.
The man remained seated across from him, briefly returning to his documents as if Wonwoo’s presence alone was nothing more than a hindrance to his schedule. Merely a minor detour in his work flow that didn't deserve even his full attention.
Gritting his teeth, Wonwoo summoned every ounce of strength within him in order to maintain his calm facade, pressing on with as steady a time as he could muster.
“May I ask for what reason you've sprung this upon me?” The older man paused to look at Wonwoo, giving him an unimpressed once over before returning to his work.
“Mr. Jeon, you seem to be a very good man. Strong, capable, good looking. You're practically everything a father wants for his daughter. Just not my daughter.”
To say he was taken aback would be the understatement of the year, because Wonwoo found himself practically reeling whilst trying to gather his thoughts and make sense of the situation. He felt his eye twitch momentarily, fists clenching by his side as he allowed the man to proceed with whatever motives he had in summoning Wonwoo in the first place.
“My daughter is scatterbrained as is. The last thing she needs is financial struggles to add to her carefree thought process.”
“I'm not rich enough for you?” Wonwoo spat out, venom laced in his tone. His head quirked to the side, a sharp glare directed at the man, challenging him to press on with his offense. Yet the man seemed unaffected by Wonwoo’s clear disdain, merely huffing an amused sigh as he continued.
“Don't take it to heart, kid. You'll understand when you have your own daughter in the future.” Wonwoo watched as he stood from his seat, rounding his desk to be face to face with him. “You know (y/n) as well as I do. She's not built for the harsh world out there.”
“You want to keep her sheltered in your little fantasy world? Coddle her until you're on your deathbed?”
“The world's less harsh for our kind.”
Wonwoo felt his blood boil, though remained as is. Jaw clenched, eyes narrowed, staring daggers into the man and his blatant ignorance.
“She's a grown woman,” Wonwoo began, voice low because he feared any alternative would involve shouting. “A grown woman capable of making her own decisions. Falling in love with whoever she wants to. Dealing with her own struggles without her father hovering over her.”
“She'll get just that if she stays with the likes of you.”
At this, Wonwoo found his composure faltering, brows furrowed in concentration, attempting to piece together what the man could possibly be insinuating. Judging from the prior turns of their conversation thus far, Wonwoo could only imagine the lengths this man would go to rid his life of Wonwoo’s presence.
A sly smile crossed the face of the man. Perhaps the first expression outside that of his permanent scowl. Wonwoo felt immediate discomfort from the sight, at the apathy emanating from beyond the man’s eyes. This cold, resolute stare that seemed near sociopathic almost.
“What are you insinuating?”
“If my daughter is to remain with the likes of you, a certified liability upon her, then I'd have no choice but to cut her off entirely.” Wonwoo felt his heart drop at the monotonous words coming out of this man's mouth, uncaring as if it were nothing more than a business transaction. “Cut off her finances, her access to my estate. Even her relations with myself and my family.” Wonwoo attempted to meet the hard and calculative stare trained on him, but his resolve was beginning to crumble with every new thing spoken. “You wouldn't want to be the cause of (y/n) being disowned, now would you?”
No, he wouldn't. It was a shitty ultimatum. Break up with my daughter or she'll be completely removed from her family. It was downright psychotic behavior. Something which shook Wonwoo to his core. He had only ever seen this type of character in fiction. Someone this unmoving, completely devoid of empathy. His thoughts and concerns only revolved around himself, only ever using the facade of concern for his daughter. Though in actuality, it had become perfectly clear to Wonwoo that the man only cared about his own personal image which would be impacted by his daughter's unworthy match.
He wanted to leave immediately. He wanted to actively punch the man before leaving this accursed manor. He wanted to whisk (y/n) away from the pitiful excuse of a father trying adamantly to control her every waking moment. He wanted to run away with her, live their own life without the crushing weight of societal expectations dampening the tranquility of their relationship. He wanted to return home where (y/n) would be waiting for him, safe from the outside world in the sanctity of their four walls. He wanted to make her laugh until her head was tipped back and her sides ached. He wanted to comfort her when times got too tough for her to manage on her own. He wanted to be the one to embrace all of the love she had to offer. He wanted to be her first and her last in everything.
Though he couldn't bear the guilt of having forced this ultimatum upon her. He didn't want to tarnish the image of her family because of the tyrant claiming to be her father. He didn't want to have her choose between her family or her significant other. The mere image of (y/n)’s agony wreaked havoc upon his poor battered heart. Images of when he first met (y/n), walking into the bar like a confused, wet puppy flitted through his memories, and he couldn't handle bearing witness to it once more.
That day, he left the manor without another word and without another glance behind him. He couldn't recall much of what happened following his departure, though sooner rather than later, he found himself walking into his apartment once more. His mind felt frenzied with thoughts and concerns, calculating his options and reevaluating his morals. Yet in a conflicting sense, he felt absolutely empty. Numb to the outside world, barely conscious enough to even discern how much time had passed since he had returned home.
By the time he had come to, he hadn't come to a decision. Or perhaps he just hadn't come to a decision he liked. There was a logical answer, one that took into consideration everyone's circumstances, one that accounted the world and the way it functions outside his own life. And then there was his selfish answer. The one that accounted for all of these factors, yet ignored them nevertheless in lieu of his own desires. The one that resulted in his own happiness, though at the cost of everybody else's.
It felt like an internal strife was dismantling the very foundation of his life, eating away at him until he was nothing left. A vessel devoid of its soul, wading listlessly in the universe, awaiting for, dreading the moment he'll have to make his choice. Or more correctly, make the only feasible choice in the matter. Because no matter how desperate he wants (y/n) in his life, and no matter how heinous of a being her father is, the guilt of the matter which derived from the conditions forced upon him overrode that of anything else. He couldn't possibly revoke (y/n)’s entire life, everything she's ever been accustomed to, merely for his own selfishness. He knew this was exactly what her father hoped for. Exploiting the way Wonwoo cared for (y/n) with every fiber of his being. And as much as Wonwoo wanted to deny it, his plan worked.
The sound of his door unlocking was what managed to jostle Wonwoo from his stupor, albeit only a microscopic amount, though enough for him to blink away his delirium and look up just as (y/n) came walking into the room, bright smile on display the moment her eyes landed upon the man seated on the couch.
“Wonwoo!” The jubilance in her voice managed to soothe the turmoil wrought in his heart, a wry smile curling at the corners of his lips. From where he sat, he watched as she mosied about the apartment as naturally as one breathes. Toeing off her shoes, tossing her things onto the counter, raiding the fridge for whatever beverage she can find to cool off. All the while, she rambled endlessly of her day, from the very beginning when she woke up to the traffic on her way to work, the new place her and her friends visited for lunch, anything to fill the void that usually enshrouds Wonwoo's apartment. And his smile grew more and more fond, impossible to even deny for a moment how happy he was in her presence. It was how they always worked. What he was, she was the opposite. In the silence Wonwoo had grown accustomed to, resided for most of his life, she offered that peaceful white noise to settle his nerves and quell his rampant thoughts. “You're awfully quiet today. Is everything alright?”
(y/n) had made her way to the living room, collapsing on the couch beside him, naturally nestling against his side. All the while, her soft eyes remained on him, never pushing him to talk, though assuring him he was always free to. The clarity of her emotions and the way she expressed them to him was always something he admired, and meeting those loving eyes for perhaps the last time finally broke his resolve.
“It's nothing, really.” He quickly turned away, not wanting her to see the way his eyes glossed over with unshed tears.
“Well, obviously it's something if it's got you like this.” Her voice was low, just above a whisper, preserving the still of the atmosphere set around them. The hum of the radiator filled the room, providing that subtle medium for Wonwoo to concentrate on and avoid the spiraling thoughts swirling in his head. Beside him, he could feel (y/n)’s gentle touch on his hand, thumb lightly brushing against his knuckles. He loved the way she treated him so tenderly, taking her time and speaking lightly, touches sweet and demure no matter how imposing he may seem to others. The thought of tarnishing this tranquility, destroying the relationship they both worked so hard to build up, killed Wonwoo inside.
His heart ached as he sat there, seconds ticking by, battling himself every step of the way. (y/n)’s persistent patience didn't help his cause in any way. Her presence which usually served as an anchor weighing him down to earth now felt like a damning weight upon his shoulders. The arrangement forced upon him by her father revolved around his thoughts, an ever recurring reminder that he can't preserve this. He can't keep this happiness anymore. He can't have (y/n) any longer.
“I…” His voice trembled, cracking through the gravely undertone from his silence that day. He hesitantly turned his head to face her, though couldn't find it in himself to look up at her.
He was a coward, he knew this. Everything in this situation only further proved this revelation of his. He was a coward, and even if he did choose the selfish route in this predicament, in what world did he even deserve (y/n) in the first place?
He gulped, breath shaky as he finally dared a glance her way. As always, the (y/n) before him was as lovely as ever. Eyes remaining on him, an edge of concern in her furrowed brows. Her hand in his continued to soothingly stroke his skin, comforting him for as long as he needed. Averting his eyes once more, he felt his body tremble with wrought emotion, knowing what was to come, yet attempting to delay it.
He truly didn't deserve (y/n).
“I think we should break up,” he finally spoke, voice weak, forced out in a broken whisper.
Silence settled over them, the radiator persisting with its low hum, yet this time, it couldn't mask the heavy tension slowly accumulating in the room. Wonwoo’s body seemed to vibrate with the effort exerted in detaining himself, preventing him from retracting his words, reaching out to (y/n) and apologizing for ever even amusing such an outlandish idea. But he remained as is, nervously scratching at the rough material of his jean clad legs, torturously waiting for a response from (y/n).
The silence he met was perhaps the most harrowing response he could've received, not having the slightest clue of what could be going through her head, especially since his eyes refused to stray her way. Though he could feel her gaze upon him, and it killed him inside. Completely and utterly at a loss for himself with only the fleeting strength he'd managed to scrape up to preserve the facade of monotony across his countenance.
“Break up?” She asked, the only words she could muster with his sudden proposition. Her voice was once more soft, though instead of the comforting lull it usually carried, it seemed weak almost. Barely able to slip past her lips, barely loud enough for Wonwoo himself to hear. His heart clenched upon itself at the sound of those words coming from her, as if a taboo phrase never meant to be uttered by either of them. And the realization that the two have both broken that unspoken promise made the situation all the more real. “Why?”
Why?
It was a simple question. Inevitable, even. But somehow it threw Wonwoo for a loop. He couldn't just outright expose her family for what they were, more specifically that of her father. It wasn't his place. And he wouldn't dare place that burden upon her. It was why he was deciding to break up with her now. He just couldn't say that to her directly…
“I…” He paused to clear his throat, averting his gaze to his lap now, perhaps his one safe haven in a room which reminded him of (y/n) far too much.
Every memory they ever made together. Where they first said I love you, where they shared countless meals together, where she'd fall asleep unknowingly in his arms and heal his soul with her presence alone. Every hug and every kiss, every loving word and tender touch. Their milestones, their fights, their heart to hearts. Every aspect of their relationship is imprinted upon the aspects of his apartment, like a time capsule commemorating the moments they shared together.
“I don't think… we're a good match…”
“Why?” This why came much faster than the previous one, and Wonwoo found himself momentarily floundering upon the realization that this would result in a back and forth with which he'd have to give her a proper reason for giving up on their relationship.
“I don't want to hold you back.”
“Hold me back?” She questioned. “Where would you have gotten that assumption from? In what ways are you holding me back?”
At the sound of her frustrated tone, Wonwoo gave in and finally met her gaze. Though her voice wavered with restrained disappointment, her eyes betrayed her motive, watering as she finally met Wonwoo's own conflicted stare.
“I mean… You're you… and I'm me. You have your life and I have mine. And I don't…” He paused once more, swallowing down the lump in his throat to continue. “You have your friends, your family, and—”
“My family?” She asked, drowning in confusion at his utterance. “What about my family? Did something happen?”
Wonwoo sat there for a moment, panic broiling within him. An opportunity presenting itself. His final chance to back out.
Either he confesses to everything. Tells her how her father pulled him aside on purpose so he would be the one to decide, in order to save face with his own daughter. Tells her how she would be forced to start anew in life if she were to stay with him. Cut off from everything she'd ever known in life. Money, family, businesses, properties. All of it no longer at her disposal. Merely as a consequence for choosing him at the end of the day.
Or he continues with his initial goal in mind. Revoking her right to decide merely because it was too tasking of a decision to make for him, let alone for her. Force her to live in blissful ignorance alongside her family, abandon Wonwoo and the life they built together, allow her to continue with the way of life she'd grown so accustomed to.
Could she handle the pressures of starting adulthood from scratch? With her only resources being Wonwoo and whatever he was capable of giving to her? Could she handle the debilitating trauma of being disowned and banished by the people who raised her? Merely to stay with him? Was he even worth such a grand decision?
Perhaps deep down, Wonwoo actually feared what her answer would be. Because there was always a high probability she'd choose her family and her comfortable life over him and their relationship. Perhaps that's why he felt the need to make the decision on his own. Perhaps that's why he chose to punish himself rather than to let her do it for him. Perhaps that's why he suddenly found himself spewing whatever nonsense his jumbled mind could conjure to complete this objective.
“This has nothing to do with your family.” (y/n) quieted down at the sudden resolve in Wonwoo’s tone, and Wonwoo himself was shocked to find how steady his voice had become in a mere few seconds passed. “It has everything to do with the fact that we are just not compatible.”
“Not compatible…” (y/n) repeated in awe, words mumbled as she attempted to process what he said to her.
“You come from an affluent background, so it was already a given we'd find differences in the way we perceived the world and engage in it. Your terms of spending and saving differ vastly to my own. Though you may seem indifferent to the way I live my life, I am not in regards to your own.” His words sounded almost rehearsed with the way he spoke in such a steady and monotonous manner. One brief glance towards (y/n) only served to validate his own observations of himself, and he quickly averted his gaze once more lest the unbridled emotion enshrouding her eyes tempt him into retreat. “With the obvious aside, I find myself struggling to find meaning in this relationship that we've somehow stumbled our way into.” He paused to gather his bearings, taking as discrete an inhale as he could to try and quell the nerves firing within him. “I find you clingy in that you've occupied my apartment for weeks at a time and have essentially weaseled your way into my living space. I think you're immature in the way you spend your money, but also shameless as you also attempt to monitor my own finances. You're sheltered and you don't understand the real world, including my own and all those around us. You—”
A swift slap across his face halted Wonwoo from proceeding. It hadn't hurt him in any physical way, merely resulting in the combination of silencing him, turning his head in another direction, and perhaps a slight sting at most. Though what truly struck at Wonwoo's heartstrings was the sharp gasp that followed the initial impact, and in his peripheral vision he could see (y/n) grasping the hand that had slapped him, as if offended by her own action.
He took the suddenness of the situation to gather himself once more, regaining his composure to the best of his abilities before slowly turning to meet (y/n).
His breath had become shaky upon the sight of her. Tears streaming down her face, hands clamped over her mouth in a feeble attempt to silence the sobs bubbling out of her. Her body trembled with the whirlwind of emotions broiling within her, and Wonwoo could see it all as clear as ever. Shock that she'd ever strike Wonwoo in such a way, never in her wildest dreams had she envisioned inflicting any harm to him. Confusion, seemingly in reference to both the slap that catapulted them into this moment of silence though also to the events which had led up to it. Desperation, as if wanting it all to end, not wanting to experience another moment of this ordeal, hoping it would all end soon, or even better if it would have never even happened in the first place. Though the most overwhelming emotion riddled all through her tear ridden gaze was that of despair. Because no matter how much she reflected upon herself and Wonwoo, no matter how much she prayed that this was all a sick figment of her imagination, there was no denying that what had transpired was in fact very real, and unchanging. Wonwoo said what he said, and as the silence grew longer and longer, it was clear there was no chance of him denying his words.
He inhaled shakily, at this point fully rendering the permanence of this situation, and thus allowing himself to momentarily falter in his stoicism.
“Must I continue?”
The next few seconds felt like a blur. One moment he was staring at (y/n), eyes darting to every feature he could, memorizing the curves and lines of her face, imprinting the image into his mind. Allowing himself to admire her one last time in person, even if the image before him would forever haunt his dreams. Every time he'll think back to her, he'll be met with the cruel reality that he allowed her to leave his side for the final time as a broken, defeated woman. Though perhaps it was what he deserved. To be forever reminded of his transgressions, and to forever reflect on what he's done to the one he loves.
Though this hadn't lasted long, for in the next moment, she was quickly rising from the couch and away from him. He sat still, unmoving as he listened to the raucous behind him. Her grabbing her things from the counter, sliding her shoes back on, and then the opening and closing of the door.
What he hadn't heard was the lock behind her, a telltale sign that the one thing she made sure to leave behind was the extra set of keys he had given to her. And at that point, alone in his apartment with the lone hum of the radiator to accompany him, he allowed himself to finally let go, releasing the broken sobs that he'd tried so desperately to restrain whilst in her presence. His cries wracked through his body, loud and pained with reckless abandon. His body gave up, caving in on himself and collapsing onto the floor, barely even strong enough to catch himself before he had curled into the cold, unforgiving hardwood floor.
Once more, time felt more a construct than ever before, for he hadn't any idea the duration of time he spent there, grieving for what he had lost. The pit in his stomach grew cavernous, churning with the absolute nothingness now occupying his insides. Despair consumed his being, imbibed in every fiber of his person, ensuring there wasn't a single remnant of the joy (y/n) had once instilled into him. Regret coincided with his downfall, memories of what once was now being met with memories of what had just occurred. Images of (y/n) smiling at him collided violently with images of her final mortified expression, alongside the onslaught of tears staining her face that he had been the cause of. Though the one all encompassing emotion that overrode everything else was that of pain. Pain riddled his entire body, clawing away at him, scarring him forever. This overwhelming emotion that burrowed into his soul and demanded his attention. He felt it in his gut, his chest, his head, though it soon bled to every square inch of his body, reminding him that it wouldn't be leaving any time soon.

Days had gone by since the break up, and Wonwoo found himself once more sitting at his couch, staring at his ceiling, listening to the radiator hum away. It was sickening to him how time continued to march by, not sparing him even a moment to recover from the plight he'd gotten himself into. Time continued, and so did life. The mundane routine he had made for himself returned like clockwork. Bartending throughout the week before returning home. Though even if he had lived through life like this for longer than he could recall, the now apparent emptiness of it all lingered tauntingly before him.
The lack of shoes to greet him when he'd return home to toe off his own. The silent kitchen as he cooked for one. The TV had remained off ever since, and instead he spent most of his spare time in front of his monitor playing games in hopes of it distracting him from the loneliness now consuming his life.
This was the first day he actually decided to sit on the couch since. The first day he sat in front of the TV, albeit with the screen still completely black. The first day he allowed himself to try and confront what had happened.
His head lolled to the side where (y/n) last sat, and in his self deluded mind, he could practically see the manifested image of her beside him. The clear image of what she looked like that day still fresh in his mind. Though the longer he recalled, the more he could remember of (y/n).
He could still feel the touch of her lips upon his own, her breath hitting the shell of his ear as she whispered sweet nothings to him, the warmth she'd radiate as she cradled him against her. The memories of her felt not only alive with the surroundings of his apartment where they lived together, but also forever imprinted on his person alone.
Weakly, he pulled himself forward, leant against his knees as he attempted to ground himself back to reality. As sweet and oftentimes bitter the memories were to him, they served no purpose other than tormenting him. He needed to move on first before he could think back fondly at what they once had. Though it was always easier said than done.
His hand swiped down his face, rubbing away the exhaustion from his eyes as he reached for the mail he had haphazardly tossed onto his coffee table.
Flipping through the stack, he was met with his usual itinerary of garbage and junk mail. Though one crisp envelope captured his attention. Unmarked, though from the quality alone, Wonwoo could tell it held some significance to it.
Mindlessly, he tore open the letter and extracted the singular sheet of paper within. An unmarked check, signed by none other than (y/n)’s father with only one remark written on it.
“Thank you for your cooperation.”

there he was, in all his glory, black hair neatly styled with a simple outfit that consisted of grey sweats and a black t-shirt.
“here’s your chance! go talk to him,” mingyu pushes you in the direction of your crush. you awkwardly stumble over your feet, nearly falling. your crush, jeon wonwoo, whips his head towards you.
your heartbeat grows louder, your ears growing hot as you quickly turn around to avoid eye contact.
“what are you doing? go over there,” mingyu eggs you on even more, making your stomach do uncomfortable flips.
yes — you had a crush. as dumb as it sounds, you’ve been absolutely infatuated with jeon wonwoo ever since the day you met him. your best friend, kim mingyu, has been trying to set the two of you up for ages.
unfortunately for you, you could never muster up the courage to even look in wonwoo’s direction. even if he tried to strike up a conversation as you waited for mingyu outside the practice room, you always found a way to avoid him or keep the talk short. you would say it’s one of the worst traits about you.
of course you want to talk to wonwoo, ask how he is or be able to grow closer to him, but you couldn’t. your anxiety would overpower you, resulting in awkward stuttering or statements that didn’t even make sense. or in the worst case scenario, you would find a way to basically run away to do something else if you saw him coming your way.
“i can’t,” you fix your outfit self-consciously, straightening out your pencil skirt. mingyu ruffles your hair playfully, sending you in full panic mode to adjust it.
“he’s coming over here,” mingyu states, drinking out of his water bottle. your eyes grow wide, shambling to stand side by side with mingyu. he smiles, trying to hold back a laugh.
mingyu was right, wonwoo was walking towards you two. you can’t move, your feet feel planted in place as a hundred thoughts race through your mind. wonwoo’s face lights up as he gets closer.
“y/n, nice to see you,” he greets you, earning a nervous smile from you. mingyu elbows your side subtly, reminding you to say something.
“hi,” you say quietly, making you internally face palm at yourself. he looks so pretty even after dancing for hours, his forehead glistening with sweat and his skin glowing. he adjusts his black rimmed glasses, pushing them up. you can’t help but admire him, his brown orbs fixate on you as you continue to stare.
mingyu clears his throat, wonwoo’s eyes flicking towards his direction instead. “y/n and i were just about to go get food.”
“yum yum,” you say out of nervousness. you cringe at yourself.
you shift your attention to mingyu, who is already looking at you with a smug grin.
“y/n is really hungry but sadly i’m really tired and i just want to sleep,” mingyu tells wonwoo, with a fake frown on his face as he keeps his eyes on you. you furrow your brows, glaring at him with an ‘i’m going to kill you’ look. leave it up to kim mingyu to try and play matchmaker with every opportunity he gets his grip on.
“oh,” wonwoo says, “i don’t mind going with you, y/n.”
you step on mingyu’s foot, making him wince in pain. thankfully, wonwoo didn’t notice.
you clasp your hands together, “actually i–”
“great! hope you guys have fun,” mingyu pushes you again, and you almost land straight on the floor. thankfully, wonwoo’s fast reflexes catch both of your shoulders as mingyu runs away to talk to minghao like a little kid.
wonwoo’s touch has your entire face heating up as he looks at you with concerned eyes. “are you okay?”
your breath hitches, straightening your posture quickly while avoiding eye contact. the amount of anxiety coursing throughout your body was unbearable, you could barely even talk to wonwoo. how were you going to sit and have a meal with him alone?
“yeah, i’m fine,” you spew out a white lie. you two begin walking to the back exit of the building to avoid being seen by fans, wonwoo’s keys jingling inside his pocket. you’re nervously obsessing over what to say, or if you should speak at all.
the lights of the building hum quietly, but it’s barely audible as conversations from many different people tune it out. wonwoo adjusts his hair and puts on a face mask, giving you a chance to steal a glance at him. his presence alone has your heart skipping beats, as you imagine all the possible outcomes of your small little outing together.
you reach the exit, wonwoo politely holding the door out for you. your lingering embarrassment still has a hold on you, making you stare at the ground and mutter a “thank you” in a small voice.
“is there a restaurant you have in mind?” wonwoo’s voice breaks the silence, making a small part of you jump. he sticks his hands inside of his pockets, still walking alongside you, but head fully turned towards your way.
“no, you can choose,” you try to reply in the sweetest voice you could find within your vocal chords.
his face lights up, “hm, let’s go to homulang then. it has ramen, katsu, a lot of japanese cuisine. is that okay with you?”
you respond with the nod of your head, butterflies erupting within you because you were merely walking with him. no one else, just the two of you. you were still slightly irritated with mingyu because you knew that the only things coming out of your mouth would be short sentences every once in a while, or nothing at all.
you truly couldn’t help it, after all, wonwoo has millions of fans all over the world and probably a lot of other idols who find him cute. insecurity would eat you up constantly with the thought of dating wonwoo, or even just trying to explain how you feel to him. he’s also way too busy, you didn’t want to trouble him with anything else.
it’s still quite early in the evening, 6:14 pm to be exact. the sun shines down onto the pavement, clouds scattered in the blue sky. you walk by civilians on the street, no one paying attention to you two as your feet pat against the gray concrete. the cars driving past you result in a slight breeze, but it’s satisfying in the hot weather.
you feel the urge to run away building up inside of you. there’s only one thing going through your mind; holy shit, i’m hanging out with wonwoo! you feel self conscious just standing next to him, wanting to cover your face or wrap your arms around yourself.
once the restaurant is in your field of vision, you grow more tense. you straighten out your posture, adjusting your hair. he reaches out to open the door for you once again, letting you inside first. the waiting area is crowded, which means you have to stay close to wonwoo. you feel his hand rest against your back, causing you to swallow harshly.
the hostess greets the two of you with a smile, her eyes lingering on wonwoo as he removes his mask.
“table for two, please,” wonwoo tells her politely. her face lights up, grabbing a hold of two menus.
“great! right this way please.”
gosh, it feels like everything is finally beginning to sit within you. you’re going to be sitting here, with wonwoo. talking. for at least an hour. you feel sick just admitting it.
he pulls your chair out for you, and you can’t say you’re surprised. you didn’t fall for him solely for his good looks, in fact, you very well loved how much of a polite person he was.
the hostess walks away, bright smiles directed to wonwoo only. you awkwardly bite the inside of your cheek, taking note of how gorgeous she looked. wonwoo didn’t seem to pay much attention to her longing gaze though, just casually opening the menu.
“oh my god! y/n?”
a voice startles you. it doesn’t make it any better since your senses are heightened due to the amount of anxiety pitting inside of you. your head snaps towards the voice, and you’re staring up at a woman with long black hair and a grin.
“seoyeon,” you breathe out, standing up to give her a hug. wonwoo watches your interaction in silence, grazing his fingertips along the plastic menu.
“it’s so great to see you! you look so different, in a good way! you’re so pretty,” she gushes. you can’t help but shyly look down, bowing your head slightly to thank her.
“you look great, too. by the way, this is wonwoo,” you introduce him, making his eyes shoot up to hers.
“nice to meet you,” he says.
seoyeon was an old friend of yours from high school — she was well adored by everyone and not to mention extremely desired. you wouldn’t say you were the best of friends with her, but you were quite close.
“oh sorry, am i interrupting something?” she inquires innocently. you open your mouth for a moment, awkwardly looking between the two of them and waving your hands.
“n-no,” you’re able to stutter out. “but other than that, what brings you here?”
she points to her name tag sitting upon the shirt of her uniform. “y’know, duty calls! but i’ll leave the two of you alone now. let me know when you’re leaving though! i want to talk to you again.”
she waves goodbye, walking to another customer’s table. that leaves you with no one other than wonwoo. you look at him for a moment, his eyes already on you. you force yourself to look back down, but you can see the small smile he has on his face from the corner of your eye.
he exhales softly, “what are you getting?”
you don’t say anything for a second. oh no, is this a test? is he asking me to see if we have things of similar interest? what if i answer wrong? i should say i’m getting the prawns— wait no, he hates seafood!
“i think i’m going to get the pork cutlet,” you answer firmly. wonwoo lets out a small chuckle, which sounds like absolute music to your ears.
“it’s just me, don’t worry. you can be yourself.”
that was the problem, it’s just him. the guy you’ve been crushing on for years. you can’t just be normal, because every time you try to even say something to him, you feel like wrapping yourself in a dozen blankets and hiding forever.
you’re so caught up in your own thoughts you accidentally knock over your cup of water, not even registering it at first. it’s not until wonwoo’s gripping at the napkins, scrambling to clean up the mess, is when you finally notice it.
your eyes widen, standing up in your chair as you try to help him. you could just cry right now, not only were you terrible at conversation starters, but you utterly embarrassed yourself in front of wonwoo.
“i’m so sorry,” your voice shakes, wiping aggressively at the dripping water.
“it’s okay,” wonwoo tries to reassure you while standing to assist in cleaning. in your mind, it’s just the gentleman in wonwoo trying to not make you feel bad. there’s just too much happening around you, it makes you want to burst into tears.
“i’m sorry,” you repeat yourself, hands shaking.
“y/n,” he says softly, all while placing his hand on yours. “i promise it’s okay.”
his kindness makes you calm down a bit. after about three more “i’m sorry's”, and wiping the remaining water, you sit back down.
wonwoo adjusts his glasses once more when he takes his seat again, trying to see if you were still shaken up. you know that he doesn’t understand why you’re so on edge, but you can tell that he’s trying to make you feel better. in reality, you’re just overthinking absolutely every movement you make.
you are aware that this dinner would feel like hell for you, even if you were spending time with the one guy you hold admiration for. it didn’t matter, because you were already here. you were sure that if you came up with a lame excuse to leave, wonwoo would see straight through your lie.
so whether you like it or not, you were going to have to power through this.
surprisingly, tonight was not that bad. in fact, you and wonwoo ended up staying at the restaurant for longer than one hour. you learned a lot about him, some things you already knew, but others you didn’t.
he talked about how initially, he was a vocalist. it wasn’t until people commented on how good his rapping was, did he start to look more into it. he told you all of his book recommendations when he heard you loved to read, and although you couldn’t completely get over your nerves, you still had a good time.
“thank you for uh, coming to get food with me,” you tell wonwoo awkwardly, waiting for the bill to arrive.
“it was fun. i hope you talk to me more in the future though, because i thought you disliked me,” he admits. your eyes widen, shaking your head.
“no, no! it’s not that.. i’m just.. bad at talking,” you half lie, mumbling quietly. wonwoo lets out a sigh of relief, “that makes me feel a bit better.”
the reason it was a half lie was because you were bad at talking, just only to wonwoo. with the other members you were fine, but every time he came up to you, it felt like all your speaking abilities would run out the door.
your waitress finally comes back with the bill, bringing a card machine with her. you open up your bag, taking your debit card out.
“i’ll pay,” wonwoo offers, also holding one of his cards out.
“please don’t, i’ll feel really bad if you do,” you immediately decline his offer. you reach to tap your card on the machine, but wonwoo is faster. he beats you to it, thanking the waitress.
“hey! i said don’t!”
wonwoo shrugs his shoulders, “you’ll pay next time then.”
his words affect you in two different ways. on one side, you’re squealing internally because wonwoo is actually interested in hanging out with you again. on the other side, you’re overthinking everything, wondering if you’re going to embarrass yourself like today.
the both of you gather your things to leave, walking to the door. you tell wonwoo you have to say goodbye to your friend first though, walking towards seoyeon who is organizing receipts at one of the registers.
“hi, i’m about to go,” you pipe up, making her look towards you.
“oh! before you leave, i wanted to ask about your friend, wonwoo,” she informs you. your heart beats a little faster, dreading what she is about to ask.
“is there anything going on between the two of you? because you know.. he’s really good looking..”
of course seoyeon was interested in wonwoo. after all, that was just your luck. and you couldn’t really lie to her, that would be unfair to both her and him. because no matter how you look at it, there really wasn’t anything going on between the two of you. you were just friends. or at least, wonwoo thought so.
all you had was a crush on wonwoo, a crush that you were never able to build up confidence to pursue. this was quite literally the only time you and him had gotten to spend time together alone. plus, you believe seoyeon and wonwoo would be great together. you’re too awkward and can barely speak to him, and she’s so confident.
so as much as it pains you to answer, you shake your head no.
“oh thank goodness, i didn’t want you to think of me as a homewrecker or anything,” she laughs. she quickly writes her number on a napkin, handing it to you. you reluctantly take it, cursing yourself for not having enough courage to confess to him.
you quickly say your goodbyes, leaving the restaurant to find wonwoo. he’s standing outside, waiting for you as you walk out.
“you’re choosing the place next time, by the way,” he states. you nod your head, holding the napkin in your hand.
“what’s that?” he asks you. you stare down at it, getting more upset with yourself by the second.
“my friend wanted me to give me your number,” you breathe out, “she asked me if there was something going on between us.. i said no and she asked me to give you this.”
“oh, i see,” wonwoo replies, almost sounding disappointed. you begin to panic again.
“i’m sorry! i should’ve said that you don’t have time for dating or that you um.. you weren’t interested, but i didn’t give her any of your information so don’t worry.”
“it’s not that,” he tells you, taking the napkin from your hand and folding it neatly. “i just thought that there was something going on. with us.”
“oh,” is the first thing that pops up in your head. you don’t even notice what he said at first, only being thankful that he wasn’t mad at you for trying to set him up with a friend of yours.
but then it hits you.
“...oh.”
you’re honestly at a loss for words. he had to be joking, god, you really hoped this was some really cruel joke. if it wasn’t, that means wonwoo was somewhat interested in you, and actually perceived you as a person (something you did not want).
“um.. ah.. wow.. you’re cool! wait— not just cool, i really like you, wait no, not really like you. like normal person like you. no that’s not right either, i like you more than just normal person liking!”
he can’t help but stifle a laugh, placing an arm over your shoulder. you stand frozen, eyes wide while he looks down to you. when the hell did his face get that close?
“i know you do,” he smiles.
“but i thought you thought i disliked you?”
“well,” he starts as you two start walking in the direction of the dorms, “i decided all those times you were avoiding me or having trouble speaking were either because you hated me, or you liked me.. you told me otherwise, hence why i know you have a little crush on me.”
you go silent, the nerves taking over you once again. wonwoo knew? and not only that, wonwoo didn’t find it weird. in fact, he actually reciprocated your feelings. you’re too busy trying to wrap your head around everything that you don’t realize how he presses a quick peck to your forehead.
when you do come to terms with it, your face and ears begin to heat up. your heart is racing, your entire head on cloud nine. wonwoo smiles to himself, proud that he made you flustered.
“oh my god,” you whisper to yourself.
“i’ll kiss you for real, next time.”
“oh okay— wait, what?”

A Day At The Library
Tumblr media
MASTERLIST
Thanks for the request friend! This is a very cute idea!

The call of the guards announcing that Prince Wonwoo is approaching has nearly become a daily occurence in your life. He will stop in your library at any moment, he always does. It used to puzzle you, how often he came. But then you remembered he lived in a castle. The library he had there was sure to never be overwhelmed by any number of books he purchased from your shop.
It also explained why he came so often. That wing of the castle had only just been built. He had plenty of shelves to fill with books. You had found yourself admiring the fact that he came to handpick his own books himself. You knew there were many scholars and tutors within the castle who the prince could have sent out to fill the library instead.
Although, the first time he had come to your little shop, he had come on his own after sneaking out of the castle. You had heard the little bell above your door ding, signaling someone had entered. "Welcome!" you called, "I'll be right with you!" You had quickened your pace in stocking the shelves with a new shipment of the books, wanting to be available for your customer.
You had bent over to grab another stack and stood up only to meet eyes with someone through the shelves. His eyes had widened for a second before his they crinkled in the tell-tale sign of a smile. You let the stack of books collect in your arms as you smiled back, "Hello, there. I'll be right here if you need me!" You assured.
"I'm just looking, but thank you," the man said. You nodded and continued your work. Once the shipment of books had been completely sorted into the correct places, you took your place behind the counter. The man looked carefully at each of the books that made their home in your little shop. Although he gave attention to all of them, you could see his gaze consistently drawn back to a red, leather bound book with gold lettering. It was an astronomy book, one of the most beautiful in the shop. Also one of the most expensive, which was what kept most people from buying it.
But eventually the man picked it up and ran his fingers over it carefully. He gazed so lovingly over the pages that you couldn't help but stare at him with a smile on your face.
"This one, please," he asked, setting the book gently on your counter.
"I'll be sad to part with this one, but I'm happy it has finally found a home," you state, taking the man's coin from his hand.
"You talk about the book as though it's your friend," he chuckled.
"All these books are my friends," you gestured around your shop. "If I didn't think they could be, I'd get rather lonely around here."
The man smiled while taking the small coins he received in change from your hand, "Well feel free to come visit your friend anytime." He held the astronomy book up. "But for now, we must both take our leave." He looked out the shop window at two palace guards passing by then quickly walked in the opposite direction of them.
"Librarian! Librarian!" three children ran into your shop.
"What is it?" you had asked, alarmed by their volume and suddenness.
"What business did Prince Wonwoo have in your shop?"
You had been shocked to learn that it had been the Crowned Prince himself in your shop, mortified that you hadn't realized it was him, and worried after finding out he had snuck out of the castle that day. But then he had started visiting town more often on adventures that had actually been permitted by his parents.
His purchases from the bookshop had given you a journey through the interests of the prince. First it was all astronomy. Then he had gone through a phase of clearing out your poetry section nearly every week. He had dabbled a bit in cartography books. In his current phase, he had been buying up your botany catalogues.
You wouldn't admit it, but you had been stocking up based on what had been sparking his interests.
And Prince Wonwoo would never admit it, but the reason he came to a small bookshop in the town instead of getting someone in the castle to fill his library, was because of you.
Prince Wonwoo felt light and airy as he stepped into your shop to be greeted by your smile, "Welcome, Your Majesty."
"Good afternoon [Y/N]," he gave a smile back, only hoping his could be as radiant as yours. "How is my favorite librarian?"
You laughed softly at the comment, a sound that always made Wonwoo's smile grow even larger. "I'm doing better than ever. The future of my bookshop is promised since it has become the main vendor for a certain prince."
Wonwoo hoped he wasn't blushing. "Well that's a relief. I would be quite disappointed if this place were to shut down." He was already amongst the shelves of books. He noticed that you had already restocked the botony shelf, the fact made the tips of his fingers tingle. He reached immediately for one with light green binding.
"I figured you would like that one," your sweet voice sang through the shelves of the shop. "It includes plants out of our region. I thought you might have enough books documenting our native selection."
Wonwoo flipped through the pages, his eyes taking in the sights of flowers he couldn't have imagined in his wildest dreams. "I do like it," he confirmed. He paused before deciding to take a bit of a risk. "I also like having a librarian that seems to cater so carefully to her clients." There was silence for a moment, Wonwoo felt his heartbeat all the way down to the tip of his toes.
"I do my best," you responded, a laugh accompanying your words. You always laughed around him, that was good, right?
"You wouldn't happen to have a zoology section?" Wonwoo asks, the light green book now held firmly in his grip. It would certainly be going home with him.
"Zoology now, huh?" you call, stretching your arms to stock books on the highest shelves.
"My professor was telling me of incredible creatures from other lands. It sparked an interest, I suppose," Wonwoo offers shyly. You appear from around a bookcase, ever-present smile on your face.
"Exotic zoology. My, what incredible studies our prince takes part in," you say. Wonwoo notices that your tone is not one of mocking, but of genuine praise and awe. He uses an imaginary scratch on the back of his head as excuse to duck down. Hopefully it will keep you from noticing the way his face flushes. "I figured this was coming, so..."
Wonwoo watches as you walk a few bookshelves over and then place yourself in front of a specific section. He tries not to read too much into how you seem to already have books in mind for him as you pluck them from the shelves. There's three books in your arms making a sizable stack of themselves as you make your way back too them.
There's a thick one with deep black leather bound to it, "This one covers just about everything. Although, it is a more difficult read. I haven't forgotten that you like a challenge."
Next there's a red one. Slightly muted in pigmentation compared to the astrology book he first bought, but still beautiful, "This is exotic animals."
The last is a light yellow one. Wonwoo thinks every time you pick a book for him, the cover becomes his favorite color. He's commissioned several paintings based on the hues you've made him see. "This one is local fauna, since I know you'll want it eventually." He had been careful taking the other two books from you. But after you explained the third, he let his finger slide over yours as he accepted it.
You don't react, just smile at him the way you always do.
Wonwoo doesn't know what this means, but he hopes to find out.
The seasons pass and Wonwoo finds subject after subject to study. In reality, his professors have told him many times that he is a well-rounded student who is knowledgable on many subjects. But he insists that he needs to learn more. There's always more and there are still empty library shelves.
After some time, Wonwoo's parents send his professors off to take a break. Wonwoo is devastated. His parents think he may really just love learning that much. But truthfully, Wonwoo now has no excuse to go to the librabry without subjects to learn. He stares at the number of empty shelves in his own library. He can find one, he's sure.
The shop door dings as someone enters. "What is it today?" you say as you see the prince's ruffled black hair. "Are we off of local history and onto history of foreign lands? Or have we moved off of history entirely?"
"I actually came for fiction today," he grins.
You pause dramatically in your movements, "I'm sorry? Our prince of many interests is looking for simple fiction?"
Wonwoo laughs before he nods, "I'll need much to entertain myself while my professors take an extended break."
"Then let me introduce you to all of my favorites," you say excitedly. Wonwoo has the largest stack of books that he's ever had in your store by the end.
"You have a lot of favorites," Wonwoo admires each and every title, excited to follow behind you on the adventures you've taken before.
"Well I wouldn't keep a shop full of books if I didn't like them," you shrug. You take a moment to study Wonwoo and the pile. "Would you like help taking those back?" His head snaps up. "I don't mean to intrude," you back off immediately, "it's just a lot for one person to carry."
"Oh I didn't feel any intrustion. I was just surprised," his expression softens as he realizes he looks like he took offense. "Technically visitors are only allowed in the palace on invitation from the King and Queen."
"Ah, I understand," you stew with him in silence for too long. "Well you could also store some here for the time being and take them back overtime. I don't mind holding them for you. You could even read them here if you like."
"That's a nice offer."
"Well, we should enjoy it while it lasts, right?"
"What do you mean 'while it lasts?'" Wonwoo looks concerned up at you.
"Once your library is filled, you won't be coming around here anymore," you share a look with him. "I hope I'm not out of line if I say that I will miss your company when that day comes."
Wonwoo feels content. He has his answer. You gave it to him willingly. Without saying words. Without him having to ask.
"Well you don't have to worry about that," he says nonchalantly.
"Oh?" you inquire.
"No, I mean, once my librabry is complete, I'll need someone to help me tend to it," Wonwoo hesitates before he lays his hand over yours where it rests on the books. The ones you handpicked just for him.
"If I didn't know any better," you say, "I'd say you wanted to keep me around for awhile longer."
"Yes [Y/N], I'd like to keep you around for as long as possible."

There were plenty of things to adore about Jeon Wonwoo. He was a good friend, a kind soul through and through. He was loyal, both in your relationship, to his family, and to those closest to him. He was smart, witty, charming, and not to mention handsome. All in all, he was a picture perfect boyfriend and you were grateful that you'd managed to build a life with him.
Your favorite thing about Wonwoo, however, was the fact that he always smelled amazing. He had a way with cologne, and he always picked the most perfect bath products, but it was more than that. He just had a scent that you couldn't find bottled anywhere, something so himself that it could ease your stress. Every time that you came home to him after a hard day, you'd sink into his arms, hide in his neck and let him hold you and tell you how proud he was of how hard you'd worked. The scent of his skin, warm and almost sweet, brought out by his spicy, earthy cologne and the musk of his body wash never failed to wash away your tension.
You would curl up in his bed when he was away, house sitting if he had schedules that would keep him away from home for longer than usual. When you missed him, and when he was on the other side of the world, when just a facetime call wouldn't cut the ache in your chest, you'd wrap up in whatever hoodie you'd taken from his rotation, hiding your face in the sleeves and breathing him in.
It was one of those nights again, one where nothing can seem to cut the heavy fog of missing your boyfriend. He'd only been home a few days from promotions for the group's newest Japanese comeback before he was swept out of the country again for some high end event that you would never even think of being invited to. So you'd headed straight to his place after work, the long week making you drag your feet as you trudged through the door.
You didn't bother turning the lights on, just toeing your shoes off and replacing them with your slippers, and heading straight for the bedroom. You knew his closet like the back of your hand, finding one of his hoodies and changing into it as fast as you could with the sleepiness weighing down your limbs. Once you were dressed in his clothes, you shuffled back to the kitchen, finding yourself something to eat before curling back up in his room.
It felt almost ridiculous, swimming in reminders of your boyfriend and being comforted just by his scent, by the little flicker in your imagination of having him by your side. But you closed your eyes, nuzzling into his pillow anyway and trying to relax. He'd be home soon, you told yourself, and you could stay with him when he came home, make up for lost time, bask in the delight of being together again.
That's how you fell asleep, cocooned in Wonwoo even with him an entire timezone away. When you woke, it was still dark, and your eyes weren't keen on adjusting, but after a few blinks and a disgruntled moment of rubbing at your face, you managed to make out the clock on the stand.
5:13am
You had never wanted to be awake less, you'd swear it, but your body seemed to have other plans. As you came back to consciousness, you stretched, feeling the tension in your legs, the warmth pooling low in your stomach. You were horny. You huffed, flopping back against the sheets and stared at the ceiling for a moment. It wasn't necessarily unusual for you to wake up horny, though not typically in the middle of the night, but you supposed it had been a while since you and Wonwoo had shared any intimate time together.
You squirmed, kicking off the blankets and shivering when the cool air of the room brushed against your skin. You wiggled around, pushing your pillow between your thighs and rutting slowly against it. The drag was hardly anything, barely enough stimuli to register in your mind, but it eased the tension a little. You carried on like that, slowly dragging your most sensitive parts against the pillow and sighing out with relief.
It was slow, almost sensual as you chased the sweet relief. You weren't even trying to get off just yet, instead relishing in the tiny ripples of pleasure that you found. You flipped over carefully, hiking yourself up on your knees and lowering your weight onto your arms, folding them and nuzzling your face sleepily into your forearms.
The new position had the fabric of the pillow case dragging just a little harsher, eliciting a small gasp from your lips as you tried out the new feeling, finding your pleasure thrumming harder, louder, more desperately as you moved. You closed your eyes, imagining it was Wonwoo you were grinding against, dragging your hips against his, riding his thigh like he always enjoys watching you do. You mewled, inhaling the deep, earthy scent of him from his clothes and letting yourself grind harder.
You felt pathetic, sweat beading along your spine under his hoodie and arousal beginning to stain the pair of boxers you'd borrowed, but you couldn't even begin to find it in you to stop. Instead you chased it harder, his name tumbling off your lips in high, sleepy whines. If he were home he'd take care of you, you thought. He'd wake up out of a dead sleep to make sure his pretty baby felt good.
You replayed the sound of his voice in your head, the sweet praise and teasing insults that he'd usually throw your way when you got too desperate to sleep. Look so pretty using my thigh. Always such a good pet for me. Filthy little thing can't even keep it together enough for us to get a good night's sleep.
"Miss me so bad you have to ride my pillow to go to sleep?"
The deep, smirk laced sound of Wonwoo's voice pulled you out of your head, your orgasm sneaking up on you as your hips stuttered and you let out a tiny whimper, burying your face even deeper in his sleeves as you soiled the pillow underneath you.
"Wonu," You mumbled, pushing yourself up to turn over your shoulder and look at him. He looked tired where he leaned against the doorway, his bags discarded behind him as he watched you. But even through the jet lag, and the exhaustion of schedules being back to back, something else was darkening his gaze. "Thought you weren't coming home for a couple days."
"Wasn't." He said, long legs carrying him towards the bed where he sat down on the edge, grabbing your chin gently and pressing a tender kiss to your lips. "But an event got cancelled. The others wanted to stay and hang out, but I missed my kitty. Looks like they missed me too, hm? Couldn't sleep?"
You looked at him with wide, needy eyes, nuzzling into his neck and shaking your head a little.
"Was sleeping, but I needed you." You said. He smiled, reaching up to stroke your cheek.
"Feel better now?" He asked. You sat back, shaking your head again. "That's okay, pet. I'm home now. Gonna take such good care of you. Wanna see how bad your body missed me."
He smirked, and you felt your own adoring smile grow on his face as you breathed him in, the warmth of his presence, the comfort of his scent, the care in his touch. Your boyfriend was home, and nothing could compare to home sweet home.

Tumblr media
The day Kim Seung-Woo, the CEO of a popular tech company and also your direct boss announced his retirement the tech world was shocked. Seung-Woo was barely in his late 30’s but the net worth he’d created had allowed him enough freedom to retire as soon as his wife was about to give birth to their first child. You had been his receptionist/assistant in the first few years of the company but as the company grew your responsibilities became more focused on being a personal assistant to Kim Seung-Woo. This had given you a close bond with him and his wife Hwang Sun Hee, you’d started working there at 17 and here you were nearly a decade later at 25.
This meant that you were treated a lot more personally than every other employee but that also meant you were pulled into Kim Seung-Woo’s ‘antics’ a lot. Considering he had built the company from a garage to a multi-billion won company it was also commented on how ‘normal’ he remained. Kim Sun Hee was the same woman he started dating as a teenager, being through broke times together they always kept each other in the mind set to not take anything they had for granted. This made Seung-Woo dead set on not letting someone run his company who would only respect the top players and not everyone in the company.
“I don’t understand what me dressing up as a janitor is going to do to help, surely how they treat me as your assistant will be enough?” You spoke candidly to Seung-Woo and Sun Hee as they sat across from you at the coffee table. Sun Hee laughed as she knew Seung-Woo had thought of a new ‘test’ for the candidates to replace him.
“See dumb people would disrespect you not thinking you had any influence, but smart and crafty people will be fake kind and then mistreat you once I leave. Only a special and deserving kind of person will be nice to even the lowest person in the building aka. the cleaner.” Seung-Woo spoke so informally and calmly that you almost wanted to burst into laughter at how confident he was in himself and his idea. Sun Hee just patted his hand in an ‘of-course’ dear kind of way that made you look at them both with such adoration, they genuinely have become extended family to you over these years.
So the next day you were here waiting for Seokmin to arrive as he was covering for you for the few hours of interviews. Why Seung-Woo picked the most un-serious person for an entire day of essentially tricking people was beyond you, Seokmin could barely hold in his laughter at the idea.
“All of the calls are just being sent to the phone in the other office for the time period for me to answer all you have to do is do your normal job from my desk, then call me 10 minutes for a candidate is due for me to come out then call Seung-Woo when candidates are here. I know need to go change…” You gave Seokmin a pat on his back as you slowly walked away, you could already hear his laugh as you walked to the staff room on your.
“It’s fine, it’s only 5 hours and they promised BBQ…” You whispered to yourself. You weren’t completely against wearing comfy clothes for 5 hours of your shift but the whole premise did seem rather strange. However, it proved to work perfectly.
Your entire role was to do your job from the empty COO office, then when a candidate was due you were supposed to ‘clean’ around the waiting room and ask the candidate to move politely so you could clean where they are to gauge their reaction. You had to admit 3 hours in it was working amazingly. Every single candidate that had walked in had been amazingly polite to Seokmin, then more than 50% were rude to you just for even being in the room while they were “trying to focus”. Every single time it happened Seokmin would write a red circle next to their name.
You couldn’t lie after 3 1/2 hours of this you were tired and you were also tired of being randomly shouted at by men in suits that you couldn’t help but laugh at internally. If only they knew that the hiring decisions were based almost entirely on their interaction with you. You’d almost zoned out when the phone rang again and it was Seokmin.
“You got 10 minutes until the next one if you wanna head down.” He had the same tone in his voice that he was smiling as he spoke and it made you feel a little better that at least someone you got along with was in the same space. You began to plug your headphones back in and made your way out of the office pushing the cleaning cart. As you were about to turn the corner you felt a small tap on your shoulder. As you unplugged your headphones you saw a man almost the same age as you staring back at you with an awkward lopsided smile. He immediately introduced himself and bowed which shocked you, that didn’t even happen when you were dressed normally by a lot of people.
“I'm sorry to interrupt you are probably very busy but do you know the way to Kim Seung-Woo’s office? I’m here for an interview.” His voice was deep and smooth and for a second you forgot yourself how to get there. His tall and wide frame made him look imposing especially the full black suit and slicked-back hair but his politeness made the energy around him feel calm.
“I’m actually heading that way now if you’d like to follow me!” You were just finally glad you weren’t dealing with snide or sometimes pure rude comments. You walked around the few corners in comfortable silence and when you reached the doors that had “Kim Seung-Woo’s Office” etched into the plate the candidate actually jogged ahead to grab the door for the cart. He stood to the side as you pushed the cart through and you gave a curt bow of the head as you walked past. You decided to just go to the opposite side of the room and let him speak to Seokmin then sit down.
“Jeon Wonwoo here for an interview at 4 pm.” He spoke in the same soft and calm voice to Seokmin who just beamed back positivity and offered him a drink before telling him to take a seat. This was your cue, Seokmin would leave the room and you would ask them to move. Just in case anyone held their tongue around Seokmin, you didn’t expect anything from this candidate so you weren’t as nervous.
Seokmin waited 2 minutes for him to sit down before he left to make whatever drink he’d asked for. This was your cue, you tried to nonchalantly walk up to him but as he noticed you approach he stood up already and moved to the side. This shocked you as most people weren’t aware you were even there until you spoke to them.
“Ah, I’m sorry I’ll be very quick and you can take a seat.” You smiled politely and very quickly swept underneath the chair as he stood there holding both hands behind his back, just waiting. As you stood up again to move back you gave another bow for a brief apology.
“Nonsense you have a job to do I understand.” He spoke as he gave you the same bow in return and took the same seat again. Now you understood Seung-woo's point, you couldn’t tell him that though it would give him far too much ego as Sun Hee would say.
Finally, Seokmin returned, gave Mr. Jeon his drink, and went into the interview room for the second part of his interview. He was the only candidate that day to leave with a green tick against his name, which was good enough for Seung-Woo but you didn’t hear anything else about the process after that day. You just feared having to do that for a whole day again.
A whole month later you were finally at that BBQ that was offered for your fun day of dress-up. It was at the same BBQ place you had joined the Kims for dinner once a month every month since you joined the company. It was a small family-owned restaurant in the same area where Seung-Woo and Sun Hee used to have their first house, you guys had never moved to a different restaurant this place was too loved. You always dressed and spoke casually here that was just how the 3 of you worked. However, this time the table was for 4.
You were waiting at the front of the restaurant for the couple to arrive when someone tapped you on the shoulder again. As you turned you saw Mr. Jeon again, he was giving the same smile but this time his hair wasn’t slicked back and he was in a much more casual outfit, he was also wearing glasses this time. He must have worn contacts for the interview, you didn’t know why though the glasses looked great.
“Excuse me, have we met before?” He asked almost unsure of himself. It had been a month since so his voice was almost certain but he also didn’t know your name to be certain. Just as you were about to speak you heard Kim Seung-Woo’s voice to your right.
“Ah yes this is Y/N L/N, she’s my assistant. You however met her in her lovely janitor outfit, which will be explained I promise but let’s sit down first.” He said pulling you into a side hug and then Sun Hee embraced you as well. Wonwoo was confused, he couldn’t deny that, it was rare for a CEO to treat people with this much kindness. It was a nice change for him.
As you all took your seats are your regular table the entire situation was explained to Wonwoo who you could tell was holding in laughter at certain points of the story, especially every time you interrupted Seung-Woo with a small anecdote about something someone said to you. It was nice to see the relationship you had built over the years. Wonwoo was still unsure why he was invited considering he hadn’t been offered the job or even contacted about it.
“Before we get to the enjoyed part of this evening, I wanted to talk about the topic at hand.” Seung-Woo all of a sudden became very serious, it was almost like the music in the restaurant lowered itself so he could be heard. “Mr Jeon, May I call you Wonwoo?”
“Of course, sir.” He replied quickly, it was honestly a massive honor.
“Wonwoo, I would like to offer you this jo-my job. However, this job offer is conditional,” You had no idea what the conditions were, it was never something discussed but then again you didn’t discuss everything, “The obvious one is the shares of the company I keep which we already discussed in the interview if you’re comfortable with them and we already spoke that they could be discussed should you have children of your own.”
Wonwoo nodded along as he spoke, the conditions were more than generous considering the job Wonwoo would be taking, it was almost too good to be true.
“Now this is the most un-conditional one and it will actually be drafted into the contract. Y/N L/N’s job is secure. She will always serve the CEO as the assistant and her salary will never drop from where it is, it will only ever be increased should her job increase,” Now this took you by surprise. You knew the Kim’s treated you like family over this past decade but this really put the icing on the cake of it all, the emotions almost overwhelmed you and then you felt Sun Hee reach for your hand, “She’s worked for us since the beginning and frankly she was the person that made us realize we wanted to raise a child, and I want to protect her as I leave.”
This entire gesture made Wonwoo smile in a way he couldn’t describe, the spot he was taking was big shoes to fill and he knew that but the idea that the person in charge cared about people so heavily warmed his heart. Wonwoo had absolutely no protests to keeping Y/N around but why would he, if Seung-Woo had nothing but good things to say about her then she would be a brilliant help to Wonwoo as he got settled.
“Okay now before I cry can we finally..” Y/N said as she held up her glass of soju and looked down at the grilling meat. Seung-Woo laughed at this as it was very typical and he grabbed his own glass, and then everyone followed suit. It immediately all became a celebration for Wonwoo and his new position and the drinks flowed in accordance. Maybe since it was Monday the next day you think everyone would have drank significantly less…
However here you were at 8:50 in the elevator going up to your floor, today the diary was all clear just to get Wonwoo used to the floor and his space then Seung-Woo would be here for the next month the do a full cross-train of every floor and section they have before he finally retires 3 months before Kim JR. is born. The walk to the office was easy and surprisingly the door to Wonwoo’s office was already open so he must have found his way this time.
“Good morning, Mr. Jeon. I just got you a regular coffee for this morning but if you let me know what you prefer then I can grab it for you tomorrow.” You say giving a curt bow. He returned the action immediately.
“Please Ms. L/N call me Wonwoo. I know you called Mr. Kim by his name I’d like to keep it casual and comfortable like before.” He said smiling at you, he also wore his glasses today instead of contacts. Maybe it was because of the off-handed, maybe tipsy comment you made about the glasses suiting his face whatever you meant by that.
“Well then, Wonwoo. Feel free to call me Y/N. You have a really easy time this morning before the parade of media in the afternoon. All your log-ins are in the diary you just need to get logged onto everything this morning and just settle in. If you want you can check your calendar to see what’s set and just give me a call when you need me.” You smiled back, you knew the vibe would be different from Seung-Woo but you’re hopeful for the future.
“Thank you, Y/N. I look forward to working with you.” His face almost transformed when he smiled, he was usually so stern looking but the moment he smiled it was like everything softened. Seung-Woo had made the perfect choice to continue his legacy with smarts and kindness at even levels.
“I look forward to working with you too Wonwoo.” You said as you closed the door and took a seat at your desk again. Wonwoo looked down at the cup you placed on his desk that had “Happy 1st day!!” scribbled onto the cardboard cup and he couldn’t help but smile again as he took a photo of it to save in his phone.

Wonwoo froze and looked puzzled when he heard his door opening— His eyes flicked to the wall clock, registering the lateness of the hour.
This isn't an ideal first response to a situation where he isn't expecting someone to visit at his place late at this hour.
Although it's not the first time, that some of his closest friends just popped in at random times of the day wherein he just got used to it, usually it only happens when there's a serious problem they're dealing with, other than that they give him heads up. Especially they know Wonwoo likes his privacy very much.
He closed his book and was about to rise from his comfortable spot.
As the familiar sound of heels echoed through his home, Wonwoo's confusion mingled with a sense of relief. He recognized the cadence of those footsteps, the unique rhythm that belonged to his girlfriend, Seora.
Now carrying her heels in her right hand, carved a smile on her lips yet tired eyes are prominent on the lady.
Wonwoo's heart swelled with affection at the sight of her, arms outstretched in silent invitation while walking towards her.
“As much as I want to hug you, I'm still wearing outside clothes.” With her lips pouting, Seora's gesture halted him mid-step. Her outstretched arm a gentle barrier.
Just by looking at his clothes, he's already wearing his pyjamas, with a soft baby blue headband adorning his tousled hair — a gift from Seora herself.
“I could just change clothes again.” He reassured her. Clasping his hand to hers, he helped her bend it gently so he could give her a bear hug. “And besides, I usually sleep when my shirt is off.” He teases her, reminding her what he usually does.
Her cheeks blush, imagining him in that state. It's not like she hasn't seen him shirtless, she was just caught off guard by him and yes she's naturally shy.
“Whatever you say.” She rolls her eyes playfully, Maintaining her steady voice.
To be fair, when she sleeps over at his place, He typically wears complete clothing except for those nights when they become intimate to each other.
As they settled in, Seora's tired shoulders sagged with the weight of her burdens, her fatigue visible in the dimly lit room, prompting Wonwoo to notice her state and wanting nothing more than to comfort her.
Her signature smell penetrated his nostrils, Wonwoo's gentle touch traced soothing patterns along her spine, offering silent solace in the face of her unspoken worries.
The feeling of warmth swiftly took over her body, and she leaned her head more against his chest.
This moment may not seem fancy nonetheless, this encapsulates the comfort they both need to end their long days.
Seora led the way for them to get relaxed on the couch. Bathed in the warm glow of lamplight with softly played music, the stresses of the day began to melt away.
“Looks like your night out ended early?” He chirped, not at all expecting her to be at his place.
Yes, he thinks it's late at night, but not in the way he expects when it comes to a night out.
He even knew she was supposed to sleep in her room at her mother's house. “Did something happen?” He tilted his head, curious about how her night went.
“Well, I've been in over my head too much and it's such a no-brainer going out with my coworkers Is a simple escape for that.” Her hands move as she explains. “But I wasn't feeling it. So I just bounced out— didn't you get my message?”
He bit his lip then his body moved to the right at the edge of the sofa, quickly grabbing his phone on top of the cabinet to recheck his notifications.
“Nope.” His brows knitted, and it was his turn to pout.
Seora couldn't help but be amused at his instinctive reaction and looked at her phone. “Well that makes sense, my message didn't get through— my bad.”
She now sees his book and cup of half hot chocolate drink on the mini table before them, indicating he was about to sleep. She bit her lower lip, abruptly feeling sorry about the sudden visit.
“Never be sorry.” He beamed at her and took her hand to intertwine it with him, kissing her knuckles. “And I have to be honest, I feel happy that you thought of visiting me here instead.”
Wonwoo feels safer when she comes and stays with him more than anything. If anything he feels like she's already living here with him— but maybe someday, hopefully soon it will happen.
She pointed at his lap “Can I lay down?” she asked. He grinned ear to ear at her question. He took a couch pillow and put it on his lap, then patted it.
Wanting her to be comfortable, knowing Seora very well this won't be a quick laydown.
Seora smiled and quickly laid her head down as she tried to move her body to find the right position so she could hug his torso.
His hand landed on her crown, caressing her hair gingerly. “You're being adorable, do you know that?” His nose scrunched up, looking like a cat whisker.
Meanwhile, if she was a cat, she would pur right now on how good it feels when he does it to her. “Well, that's just being me.” She mischievously responded.
These little things they do together make her heart swell but all for the great oxytocin.
“So…” Wonwoo trails, “What's making your mind occupied?” He circled back to her worries. She might end up sucking up her thoughts and continuously feel like a burden.
She sighs heavily as she gathers Her thoughts. “It's about work.” She casually avoided his eye contact. “I feel like I'm such a disappointment, and everyone hates me— I keep having errors, and it's taking a toll on me.” Seora’s beginning to feel her tears about to burst out, she then closed her eyes, trying her best not to break down. She instinctively hugged him tightly, shoving her face closer to him.
Wonwoo's eyes saddened, looking at his girl feeling this way. “Are you only feeling this, or did someone talk to you about this?”
“My coworkers and my team leader give me decent advice to help me— but It's just me overthinking, about everyone hating me.”
Her voice became solemn, and thoughts were flowing out of her mind.
“Work became a bit stricter than usual, making me feel like I'm walking on eggshells— I just feel I'm not enough.”
She strongly feels she needs this job, as she carries quite a lot of responsibility in her family. She's now only with her mom and little brother who's still studying. Consequently, she needs to support them, particularly her mom, who is getting old.
A breadwinner you can label.
That's one of the things they have in common, as people know Wonwoo is the eldest of their household and also has a younger brother. Although their differences are, Seora is just starting her life again with this new job in a new city, unlike Wonwoo. His Dad, despite his old age, is much more settled with his business. Meanwhile, his brother is already supporting himself.
Clearly, even though he supports his family, it isn't entirely a bigger responsibility compared to her.
If she could be cutthroat, honest, besides her closest friends since way back. Wonwoo is one of the people she is deeply grateful to be with.
“It's normal to make mistakes, that's where you learn.” He starts to comfort her. “And it's not just a snap of a finger, that you get it already just from one mistake, it's a process of trial and error— and it may seem such constant setbacks but, I'm pretty sure you're growing.” He sees Seora nodding her head, humming in agreement as her voice shakes.
“I know very well it's not easy to not overthink. However, you did tell me your work isn't that simple. It's not repetitive work, which in every task you get is identical.”
He gently put her hair behind her ear, preventing it from hiding her face more.
“So it's highly understandable, also don't forget your progress— I'm confident you're doing your best.” Wonwoo wanders back on his memory lane. When he sees her smiling when she works, of course, he too naturally gets excited and curious about it.
“When you're working here sometimes, I've seen complimenting notes from people who checked your work.” He huffs proudly, and just after Wonwoo's sentiments, he hears her sobbing lightly— her nose sniffle.
Despite the strong independent women facade she has on the external world, to him, she can admit she's too soft for all of it.
As Seora's emotions overflowed, Wonwoo remained a steady presence, comforting her with gentle words and gestures— helping her ease her bottled-up feelings that were now bursting.
Her sobbing stopped when both of them heard a grumble. It was Seora's stomach that was grumbling. It disrupted their solace moment.
“I-I don't want to eat.” Her frail voice stuttered, not even feeling herself.
“I have a sandwich in the fridge, I could heat it for you.” Wonwoo took initiative as he rubbed her arms.
“Seora, even just a little.” Wonwoo tilted his head as he pleaded.
He convinced Seora to eat, mindful of her health needs and her tendency to neglect herself when overwhelmed.
Wonwoo lifted her upper body to make her sit next to him.
Her eyes and nose give the hues of red, stained cheeks that came from her tears.
He swiftly fixed up her hair, then wiped her stained tears away while he looked straight into her orbs. “It'll be quick. Be a good girl.”
While sniffing her nose, she nodded softly at his request.
Seora seems to act like a kid right now. It's one of her antics when she's feeling overwhelmed.
When he brought the heated food and put it on top of the table, Seora noticed the sandwich bag that came with it “Oh! Isn't this a cooking class?” She knows this because one of their coworkers she was with earlier mentioned this name since her soon-to-be daughter-in-law was enrolled on this workshop.
“I didn't know they had a restaurant.” she bit on the hearty sandwich and immediately produced a sound of satisfaction. “Hmm!”
Little did she know Wonwoo was feeling nervous for her reaction, and seeing good feedback made his eyes carve like a half moon, with his signature grin appeared.
“I made that earlier.”
Seora's eyes went wide, left in awe. She would have reacted with her voice, but she was busy chewing her food and now just waiting for him to give more context about what he just mentioned out of the blue.
He rubs his nape, feeling a bit shy. “It's just been 2 days since I started, I just figured it would be a fresh hobby.” It was supposed to be a surprise for her, but since her reaction gave him the boost of confidence, it seems right to mention it to her right at this moment.
Feeling a bit sceptical with her boyfriend's reasoning, “Really?” There's a gut in her telling there's more to it.
“You're becoming a husband material too quickly.” She bluntly jokes and does not even give a thought to what she said until blurting it out loud.
Freezing herself as the blood rushes towards her face.
Entertained by the lady's reaction, still, his ears bloomed into a red shade. “I can't help it… ” Wonwoo mimics the amusement of a Cheshire cat, “You just have to live with it.”
Despite his busy schedule, He's determined to be good at this. He will use his free time to work around this workshop. Truly inspired by her— wanting to take care of the person he's with.
Tumblr media
Once she calmed down and was well-fed, she looked at him directly. “I guess... I've been too emotional since my period hasn't visited me yet.” She continued their conversation.
“I was supposed to get it last Sunday— it's already been 6 days since it was delayed.” Her frustration slowly crept in again.
This isn't news to Wonwoo at all. He has always been updated on her cycle. They've taken precautions before more spiralling thoughts would eat them.
Every time they take the test until yesterday it comes back negative—might seem too much but it gives them the assurance they need and it is safe to say in that specific department that wasn't hindering her monthly cycle.
“Based on research I read before, stress is one of the biggest impacts of a delayed cycle or even skipping a cycle.” Wonwoo voiced out what he read this week, upon diving deep into studies and watching helpful videos from doctors online. “But let's go to the doctor tomorrow, just to be sure.”
The amount of care he could give to her is endless. She pulled her body up and sat on his lap, facing him. Putting her arms around him, she managed to steady her eye contact with him.
“You're right, I've suspected stress as well.” She hasn't been sleeping so well due to her schedule with work. Three days a week, she needs to be at her office, needing to wake up early and still going home a bit later due to heavy traffic.
City life may seem full of glitz and glamour, but it can be a bummer.
She even noticed prominent pimples come and go on her face, proving her point about hormonal imbalance.
It was not a good week for her, indeed.
On the other hand, Wonwoo cups her face gently and admires the beauty in front of him.
He let his forehead lean on her. “We will handle this, okay?”
Nevertheless, there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. In fact, Wonwoo has always been there with her, the clouded mind she has just failed to haze away.
She nodded sweetly at him.
But not anymore.
As the night deepened, they found solace in the simple joys — a meal shared, soft words exchanged in hushed tones, and the comforting presence of one another. In the embrace of their love, they drew strength, knowing they could face whatever challenges came their way, hand in hand. With each heartbeat, they found courage, knowing that together, they could navigate any storm that life sent their way.

When your professors told you at the beginning of your university studies that it was more than likely that each and every one of their students would end up working at anything instead of what they had been studying for all those years, you thought it was just a joke. Something to break the ice the first time you met.

You remember how you even let out a loud laugh.

But, two years and seven months later, you found yourself cleaning glasses again to be filled with whiskey for the third time that night.

Working in a bar had never been part of your plan A; for God's sake, it wasn't even part of plan D, but there were bills to pay and a stomach to feed, so every night you prepared to stand for about ten hours.

The bar already had your usual customers, even though it was relatively new (compared to how long the others had been in that part of town), and it was already known that at eight o'clock you would have the three known alcoholics in town waiting at the door.

With so many hours of work at night, your sleep cycle had completely turned around, so you would get home around seven in the morning and spend the rest of the morning and early afternoon resting the hours you had not been able to sleep previously.

Your schedule often clashed with other people's schedules, so you were grateful that you had begun to form a friendship with your co-worker. It could feel quite isolating when your life was mostly nocturnal and you were surrounded by friends with jobs that went from nine in the morning to five in the afternoon.

Your eyes wandered around the tables that were being occupied; everyone seemed to have some glass in their hand, and none of the others that were empty seemed to need to be cleaned so they could be occupied again.

"Only an hour left." Your coworker, Evelyn, cheered you on, gathering several shots on the same tray to carry everything to the table occupied by a group of ten rather noisy college students. A few shouts of happiness could be heard as Evelyn approached them.

They were not your favorites; usually their tips were pretty low, and they made too many nasty comments trying to impress their friends.

So, with Evelyn, you took turns serving them, although you'd be lying if you said that on more than one occasion you hadn't made her think it was her turn when it was really your turn, but you'd make it up to her by giving her some of your own tips.
"Just one more hour," you repeated to yourself.
That night, luckily, wasn't too busy, so you allowed yourself two seconds to sit down.

Your legs, although they were used to not resting for long periods of time, were already starting.

You cursed the moment you agreed to go for a run that evening with one of your friends.
"No time to rest," your boss scolded you when he saw you sitting down. The gentleman was already in his late fifties, bordering on sixty.

His face was plump and his cheeks were a constant pinkish, almost reddish hue, which you doubted if it was from the constant alcohol in his system or if it was from the clear difficulty the gentleman had in breathing and speaking at the same time.
"Go and clean the toilets; someone vomited all over the floor."

The gentleman ignored your clearly disgusted expression, taking one of the cigars that were on your side of the bar, which were supposedly for those wealthier customers.
Evelyn sent you a look of almost pity for what was about to be in store for you.

But it quickly vanished when the annoying group of college students whistled for her attention.
The bathroom was probably small for a place that was expected to sustain long nights full of people drinking alcohol-like water. It was so small that you were even surprised that it had been approved in the first place.

And just as you expected, the place was filthy.

The mere smell of vomit was triggering your own nausea; you felt the gagging in the back of your throat.

Holding your breath, you tried to clean up as quickly as possible, feeling your eyes start to water from the disgust you were feeling.

You had to remind yourself again that you had no choice but to work and put up with such things.

It seemed that no matter how hard you tried, no place would return your calls after you left them your curriculum.

It didn't matter how desperate they claimed to be in the recruitment ads.
You emerged from the small space with such a huge gag that, for a few moments, you feared the worst.

Luckily, as you walked away from the bathroom, the feeling of nausea was leaving your body.

You still felt disgusted; you feared that the ghost of vomit smell was permeating your hair and clothes, but Evelyn made no mention of it as you walked past her and stood on your side behind the bar, so you quickly told yourself to stop thinking about such things.
"God, I hate him." Evelyn muttered, looking for a few seconds too long in the direction of her boss, who was sitting with some gentlemen who clearly had money.

He loved kissing the asses of those who smelled like money from miles away.

The cigarette he had pulled out in front of you was still in his mouth, unlit.

It was forbidden due to the poorly ventilated system.
You laughed, although there was not much humor behind such a laugh. Your liking for the man was the same as your coworker's.

But neither had any choice but to bow their heads and accept the orders they were given without much to say.

The few times they had made their opinions clear and refused to do certain things, their paycheck had been greatly reduced.

So they often ended up working unpaid hours or doing the work of five people each.
"I wish he'd fall down and choke on that damn cigar." Evelyn sighed in annoyance.

"And be out of a job?" you replied with a smile.

"I'd buy this place." She replied with a look that screamed confidence. Her eyebrows were bushy, making her eyes stand out. She was a very pretty young woman. "I suppose I could hire you." She shrugged. "Your toilet cleaning skills are out of this world; It's truly a natural talent." She joked.
Evelyn's eyes shot straight to the front door as something caught her attention, the corners of her lips automatically lifting in a smile that hid a certain mischievousness.

"Oh my, oh my! Hottie one and Hottie two just walked in. Oh," she sighed melodramatically, "what I wouldn't give to attend them instead of..." Her voice gradually dropped as her eyes moved to the group that still hadn't moved from the table they had been occupying for quite some time. One of them had passed out on one of the tables, his face completely slumped on the red plastic.

None of his friends seemed very concerned, each more drunk than the other.
Your eyes followed the movements of the two men who had just entered; it was almost impossible to take your attention away from them even if you tried.

They were tall and quite muscular; they stood out even if they weren't trying.

Evelyn had been fantasizing and talking about them from the moment it was your turn to attend to them.
They didn't come to the bar often enough to be known to Evelyn or yourself, but she hadn't stopped talking about them since the moment the two of you had started to become so close that it seemed as if celebrities were visiting the place rather than just customers.

They both made their way to one of the tables farthest away from the rest, the one they usually use.

You still didn't know how, but Evelyn had managed to discover one of their names, Mingyu.

Evelyn had sworn to you that she had searched every social network there was, with no success whatsoever.

And when the frustration took the best of her, she resigned herself to asking her boss, under the excuse that she wanted to know more about a possible client with a lot of money to spend at the bar.

The answer she got was to stay away from him and any of the friends he brought to the bar. To just do what she was being paid to do—serve drinks—because anything to do with them meant trouble.
This clearly only made Evelyn's desire to find out more about them grow even more; it was as if all the words that had come out of her boss's mouth had gone in one ear and out the other.

So much had this been the case that your boss had ended up forbidding her to attend to them, leaving you alone to carry out such a task.

For your part, unlike Evelyn, the words of your boss had had their effect, so you limited yourself to saying just what was necessary before disappearing behind the bar to bring them their drinks.

Mingyu was always the one doing the talking; his companion, whose name you had no idea, always remained silent, his eyes studying the surroundings of the bar.
Your feet automatically went to where the two of them were sitting, discussing something heatedly.

Mingyu's arm was leaning on the table, his torso completely turned in the direction of his friend, his ear close to the other man's face, trying to hear what he was saying to him over the background music and the shouts of the college students.

The other man's cold eyes connected with yours, and his lips stopped moving, following your movements with an expressionless face.

You couldn't stand the eye contact for more than two seconds, forcing you to avert your gaze to the floor until you had no choice but to raise it to address them when you were already in front of their table.
Mingyu gave you a cheeky smile. His eyes were big and round. And if it weren't for your boss's warning, you would have taken them as warm and inviting.

They were in stark contrast to the other man's monolids.
"Gentlemen, will you be alone tonight or will you be accompanied by someone else?"
"Just us tonight." Mingyu replied, "I hope you won't be disappointed."

"What can I do for you tonight, then?" You asked directly to Mingyu, since he was always the one who spoke to you. None of his friends seemed interested in you, not even the one who was sitting next to him and the second most familiar face in the whole bar after Mingyu.

"The usual." Mingyu shrugged, his smile intact on his face. "Or anything, I don't much care." His eyes moved to his friend's. "And neither does he."

You wanted to praise your mind for memorizing their orders to perfection, down to the most insignificant detail, since it helped you avoid having to spend more time writing them down in front of them.
Mingyu's honey-like skin seemed to be glowing under the lights far away from the bar; the corner was so far away from them that their skin was only barely kissed by such harsh light.

You allowed yourself to look at them once you were safely behind the bar.

Mingyu's slightly long hair was tugged behind his right ear, some of it starting to move to his face, hiding it from your view as he had returned to his position towards his friend.
You had been surprised to see only them that night, as the last few times they had attended in large groups of more than five people.

They always sat as far away from the rest of the people as possible, and as the discussions began, you would find them looking over their shoulders to make sure no one was nearby.

You were sure you had once seen one of them leave a gun on the table.

That was the time your stomach sank and you practically ran to the back of the bar, so shaky and pale that Evelyn forced you to go home early to rest, fearing you would pass out right there.

You contemplated whether to tell your boss or not, since there was no other sort of security working there, but before you could even attempt to walk near him, they all left the bar with a huge tip for you on the table.

It had been more than what you had made that whole week.

So, while it was scary, in some way, you continued to attend them without complaining to your boss.

You needed the money, and they never failed to give it to you.

You were terrified of someday making a stupid mistake and pissing them off, but, other than that, you thought you were... Okay.
"I don't understand why they're coming to a bar if they're going to drive next." Evelyn muttered, her chin resting on her palm as she stared at them unabashedly, sighing with each passing second, neither of them making any attempt to look in her direction.

"And you're going to tell them they can't drink because they're going to drive?" You asked sarcastically, your knees bumping against the cold floor as you desperately searched for a bottle of gin.

"Obviously not." Evelyn replied, rolling her eyes. She had slurred the last word so much that it had been lost in the background noise. "But they shouldn't be doing it."

"I agree, but who knows, maybe later they'll be picked up by one of their friends, or they'll call a cab." You shrugged; you didn't want to think the worst of them, but the thought of letting them drive off drunk left a bitter taste in your mouth.
"I'd hurry up if I were you; the boss is already sending us looks that are anything but discreet."

You stood up so quickly that, for a few moments, you lost your balance, having to hold on tightly to the wood of the bar.

"Wow, are you okay?" Evelyn asked, rushing to grab you by the arm to help you stand.

"Yeah, yeah. Everything's fine." You assured her, and still somewhat wobbly, you very carefully approached the place where Mingyu and his friend were.

They both stopped their conversation again when they saw your approach; this time Mingyu had been the first to notice your presence, sending a big flirtatious smile in your direction.

"Need help with that?" he offered, both of his hands stretched out in your direction, taking part of the tray you had rested the drinks on with his large palms.

His fingers brushed against yours, and you'd swear his skin was a few degrees above normal. "I think you have a fever."

As soon as the words left your mouth, your eyes widened as you realized you had broken your number one rule: never interact with them more than strictly necessary.
Mingyu's friend frowned, quickly moving forward and taking Mingyu's hands away from yours, taking a few seconds to compare Mingyu's temperature with his own.

"It's not going to help; your hands are always freezing." Mingyu spoke, answering some sort of mental question his friend had apparently asked him. The eyes of the man whose name you didn't know yet moved to Mingyu's, looking at him seriously. "It's normal."

Mingyu shrugged, breaking free of his friend's grip to grab his drink. His eyes rested on your figure, and one of his eyebrows was raised as if telling you, See, I'm fine.

The glass was completely empty within seconds, and he let out a sigh once his lungs were filled with air again.

"I'll need one more of this, if you don't mind." He said, his voice sounding more like a tease than serious.

"Sure thing." You replied.

The other man's eyes connected with yours for a brief second, and it was enough to send some shivers down your spine.
"Should I— uh?" You stumbled with your own words, not quite knowing how to continue under the other man's intense gaze.

Mingyu gently bumped his shoulder into his, causing him to finally look away from you to focus on Mingyu.

"What?" The man asked. His voice was low and mesmerizing. His face still remained quite emotionless, but there was something in his voice that made you realize he wasn't truly upset with Mingyu.

"You're driving tonight?"

The man nodded. "Brick cannot make it tonight."
It was as if your ears pricked up every time the silent man opened his mouth, your whole body trying to catch every little sound it could.

He slowly slid the glass until the crystal clinked against Mingyu's wrist, who, smiling at his friend, carefully lifted it to his mouth, his eyes moving to Mingyu's Adam's apple.
"Water."

You jumped to the voice speaking directly at you. The man's eyes were on you, almost as if he was expecting that to be enough for you to understand what he wanted.

"I'm sorry?"

"Water. I want water."

"Of course." You excused yourself, flying out of their sight in embarrassment.

God, that was going to be such a long hour.

Pairing: wonwoo X fem!reader
Genre: smut
Word count: 1.4k
Tags: smut with some plot, ex!seventeen member, pining, exhibitionism, cunnilingus, implicit consent, unprotected sex, phone calls
Summary: Heartbreak recovery requires patience, incentive, and Jeon Wonwoo.
author note: hello welcome back to horny hell. we have lemonade and abandon kittens to adopt, kittens being pussies, and pussies being my {redacted}. I have no real serious notes beside the fact that I feel like grown so many good relations being on here and I hope we continue to connect and reconnect for a long time.
It was initially a means of getting over your ex. He would call all the time, get back together with you, only to break up all over again. At some point, it had to stop.
Wonwoo was sick of every little pity party you’d throw at his place and he was running low on his stock of monthly supply of snacks in a mere week. Of course, there was the matter of your emotions, which were unstable and unpredictable, the worst kind to manage. You would throw tantrums, cry excessively, and experience the ups and downs comparable to an amusement park ride.
That was when he proposed an idea. He’d check on you, and hold you accountable for every time you get too close to your ex. Originally, a flick on the forehead seemed enough, you then began to get insufferable, fighting back. Other times you’d scratch at him like a cat, trying to retrieve your phone that he’s stolen from your grasp. It was until finally, he found a strong enough method to hold you back.
Pinning your hands on either wall, unable to even twist your wrist to face your phone screen. His hands were stronger than you had anticipated, hardly moving an inch, while struggled, and then you stopped completely. Wonwoo’s eyes pierced into yours like a knife, salvia shooting down his throat, but having complete control over the situation.
“Wonwoo—”
“Can’t you just ignore him when you’re with me? What good is it keeping him around?”
“I’m not—”
“You haven’t looked up from your phone all afternoon, stay with me here!” He points out, shouting.
Your lips quiver. Unable to tear your eyes away from him. “I-it’s, it’s not easy!”
“Can’t you see I’m doing the best I can to help you forget about him?”
You feel tears brim your eyes, helpless and irrational, pounding the back of your fists at the plaster of the wall you’re still restricted to. “Can’t you see I’m trying? I can’t help but…miss him. Just…let me take the call, hmm? Hmm?”
He shut his eyes painfully, fingers tightening around your wrists in frustration, hearing you wince in pain. “…God, you’re so stupid.”
He pulls himself forward, his head drawing closer, and soon his lips on your face. The way they moved against you was sweet and slow as if to let you know that everything is ok, and eventually, everything will be. He loosens the grip on your wrist, causing you to drop your phone to the ground, cracking its screen. Your eyes flutter in anticipation, melting in his open arms. His arms tighten around your torso and you grasp his neck. Your bodies gravitate to the bedroom and Wonwoo never leaves your side.
This single event would lead to several endless night of involved with your dearest friend. Many of those nights including hands in each other hair, lips on each other’s body, hours lost in space, and more than enough orgasms to tattoo Wonwoos name on your tongue, and he loves how you would say his name. How he’d worship your body in return like religion, never ceasing to give every inch of you his undivided attention.
And this went on for as long as you needed. Wonwoo gave you all the distraction you needed, to the point that this entanglement started to work and you wouldn’t even think about calling up your ex.
“Mmh, Wonwoo.”
Your fingers interlocked with his hair, capturing his dark locks before tugging, his soft grunts escaping before his lips tug at your folds and close around your entrance. The way his arms would encapsulate around your thighs and push your sopping cunt closer to his face was exhilarating. The gears in your stomach churn like they were shifted to overdrive, mesmerized by the owner of those same eyes that a week ago scooped you from your disgraceful state and ravished you until the following morning. You were eternally grateful.
It is then you hear a buzz in the background of your pleasure, to which Wonwoo urges you to check who it was. You palm over the sheets and barely clutch in your hand and your eyes perk up at the sight of the dreaded name. “It’s S-Soonyoung.”
Wonwoo scoffs, “Good. Pick it up.”
“B-but—”
“I know, but I think you’re ready. Go ahead.”
You hesitantly accept the call, holding up to your ear. “Hello?”
Wonwoo mouths the word, ‘speaker,’ and you follow suit. You both hear your ex-boyfriend's voice bright and clear on the other end, talking to you as if nothing has changed.
“Y/n! You’re finally accepting my call.”
You grumble imagining his face and the expression you’re so used to seeing. Nonetheless, there was a pang in your stubborn heart, a part of you that missed him at that moment. “What do you want?”
His voice was soft and tender. “Just like I’ve always wanted. To talk.”
“I have nothing to say to—You!”
Wonwoo reattaches his lips to your core, adamant about finishing the job. You feel his tongue run laps around your entrance, quenching his thirst for your arousal. You clench on his tongue, your legs entangling around his neck, softly pant. Your cheeks grow the familiar red and tried holding back your violent moans from escaping.
“Y/n? Hello?”
You shake your head. “J-just stop. Soonyoung—oh god!”
Wonwoo manages to fit his fat tongue inside, thrusting into you as his fingers make an appearance. You loosen the grip on your phone and drop it to your side, rubbing yourself into his face until you see stars. He chuckles inside your heat, losing his breath, but never feeling more alive.
“Y/n. Please. Are you busy? What am I hearing in the background?” Soonyoung persists.
“Mmh, Wonwoo, like that. Please…”
You could hear the initial confusion in your ex’s voice even through Wonwoo's efforts, “Wonwoo? Are you fucking someone while talking to me on the phone?!”
“Just hang–Fuck!”
Wonwoo sucks his fingers in a hygienic manner before lifting your legs over his shoulders, gathering his strength to take your lower body up from the surface. His exploration angry and filled with pride, ready to prove to the man on the other end it was over between you and them. Your legs cross behind his head. Your mumbling spoke louder than any other words he could think of, your moans concise and pure of ecstasy.
“Y/n. You can’t do this to me. Think of all the time we’ve spent together—”
Wonwoo grunts, rapidly moving his tongue at the speed of light and you interrupt Soonyoung with a loud gasp, “Wonwoo. You’re so good with your mouth…”
“STOP FUCKING ALREADY.”
Both lovers could hear the panic ins the man’s tone, paying it almost no mind. In a hasty attempt, you take the initiative and end the call. Wonwoo chuckles, awarding you with a kiss on your clit. “Told you you were ready. That was so sexy of you calling my name knowing he’d hear.”
“I was hoping you’d like that.” You say exasperated.
“You know me so well.”
Smiling, he pulls himself up from his plank position and kisses you, licking the bottom of your lips for entry, and your taste still on his tongue. You hold him by the nape of his neck, reeling him towards you as either of his legs barricades your sides.
He lowers down on your body until you are completely beneath him, struggling to peel off his pants and his full length in your readied entrance. You ache for it inside you, disregarding any and all other distractions, and were soon gratified by the fullness of his rubber-covered cock plunging in you.
He rocks back into you, his hips rolling back into you at the perfect pace, kissing down your jaw in desperation. He guides your hips to follow him, your sweet voice slowly draining his sanity and patience.
“You’re so good to me. You feel so fucking amazing,” he confesses dreamily.
His body holds you greedily, showing no signs of letting go, and grasps your face to level with his. His half-open eyes can hardly look at you straight. He drowns in your praises, memorizing how your lips move saying his name, pleased with how you contract around him until you're close to your climax.
“I’m gonn—ugh—cum…please…”
“You’re so pretty when you beg,” he sighs, “Cum for me. I want to see how your face looks when you cum."
Your face contorts to an unreadable mess, stretching your cheeks and rapidly blinking until you let out a loud and long moan, twitching underneath him. Wonwoo's hands grasp your quaking frame, cumming soon after, filling your insides to the brim with his desire. Your cheeks always got rosy when you meet your climax and he's always quick to leave soft repeated kisses. He looks at you like you're his. An undeniable love in his eyes that seems never-ending, but you failed to notice, soon to already drift off into dreamland.
You lay restlessly by each other's side when Wonwoo finds you unresponsive. Your head lays comfortably on top of his exposed chest, snuggling up to his torso. His arms hug your figure, training his fingers against your flushed skin. He glances down at you dozing away, pushing stray hands away from your face, and kissing the top of your head. Your soft sighs leave your kiss swollen lips, urging a smile on the man's face.
“As long as you need. I’ll be there.”

CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS // Wonwoo one shot
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
DESCRIPTION: She had known her answer months before, and the answer had stayed the same as she watched the man that promised her the whole world down on one knee. PAIRING: Wonwoo x Reader GENRE: short angst (what more do you guys expect from me)
Tumblr media
"Will you marry me?"
She looked down at him, her heart heavy,
She knew this was coming; accidentally stumbling upon the little velvet box just months before in search for a top she could have sworn was in one of their shared cabinets. It was tucked in between one of his work shirts – he never was good at hiding anything.
She should have ended things the day she saw the emerald cut gem sitting perfectly in the holder.
She should have left.
But instead, she chose to dismiss it – pretending she didn't see a that damn ring and went about her day thinking her answer would have changed when the time came.
He had spent months making sure this day went right – planting seeds just weeks before to ensure her nails were painted in that perfect shade of nude, asking her best friend for assistance so that she could show up to their private rooftop dinner wearing a white dress.
But she knew.
She caught on to every single one of his subtle planning. Just as she had caught on to his mistakes just months before.
They had been together for five years after all.
She thought that by now, her anger and her fears would have subsided.
She thought her answer would be yes.
"No." She whispered.
The grin on his face fell, his hands dropping down to his sides – the sound of the ring falling on the floor with a soft clink echoing in their ears.
Standing up from his position, Wonwoo licked his lips. "What do you mean?"
He knew what she meant. He just chose not to believe it.
Not just yet.
She felt her heart bury itself deep in her stomach, taking a step away from him. "No." Her voice firm, despite the tears that began to well in her eyes. "I'm- I can't."
"Honey–" He pleaded, a tear escaping his eyes.
He knew why she chose to decline his offer. He knew and yet, he had still proceeded with his plans – thinking she had forgiven him for his mistake.
Time had passed and they went back to how they once were when that god forsaken night had taken place.
He could have sworn everything was fine.
"No." She shook her head. "Please don't make me repeat it."
"I– Honey, don't do this."
Tears were now streaming down her cheeks, recalling back to the night his best friend ratted him out through a text message – proving her gut right.
He had cheated on her.
With his ex-girlfriend.
She didn't want to believe it. She didn't think he would do the unthinkable; even when he seemed do be coming home later than usual, his usual scent blending with a hint of roses and vanilla, and text messages that were accidentally sent to her.
They were so in love, they had planned a future together. They were perfect.
Or so she thought.
"I thought I had gotten over it, I thought my answer would be yes." Her voice shook as the lump in her throat grew to a size of a golfball. "But when I look at you– whenever I see you, I see her. I hear her."
"Y/n." Wonwoo whispered through his tears.
"You said you were content. You said you were happy. Why did you seek out for someone else when I was right there?"
"It was a mistake."
"No, a mistake is forgetting to turn off the stove. A mistake is you accidentally spilling wine on our couch. But God– Wonwoo you were cheating on me for four months! Four fucking months."
Every relationship goes through a rough patch, that was given.
It was during a time when almost every day ended with a fight, not a single minor inconvenience going unseen.
But that was what it should have just been. A rough patch.
He shouldn't have strayed.
"I love you." He emphasized the last word, as if he was reassuring himself.
If he had really loved her, then why did he slip away?
Why did he think marrying her would fix their problems?
"I don't." She wiped the last of her tears. "I'm- I can't do this. I'm sorry."
Wonwoo watched as she turned her back away from him, grabbing her purse from the back of her chair – heading straight to the door.
He stood in the darkness of the rooftop – the only light illuminating his surroundings were the distant city lights and the hundred of candles surrounding their table.
His fears had come to life.
She was gone.

love or letter series
Tumblr media
“Welcome to Love or Letter, a segment of BSS Radio Show dedicated to answering and advising our very own university students with their current (and maybe even future) romantic ailments! Depending on your story, we’ll either deem it a success by claiming it as a love or will call it a letter if our experts believe the sender should reconsider.”
Collective clapping could be heard in the background, courtesy of the grainy mics provided by the university. “Our first sender seems to have a pretty big problem—the paper is almost three pages long!”
Chuckles could be heard. “Wow, I’ve never had someone even send me a paragraph through text message.”
“That’s because you don’t have anyone to let them do that to you, DK.”
A chorus of shouting soon followed after, though a sharp hush ended the argument before it could continue, prompting the previous host to start speaking. “Dear Love or Letter team, my name is Sender A (F22) and I’m undoubtedly in love with my childhood friend (M22). He has always been a part of my life—from the minute he helped me to the bench when I scraped my knee at the local park to even now, where we both attend the university.”
“That’s so disgustingly cute.”
“But…”
“...But I think my childhood friend sees me more as a sister than he does a girl friend.”
“Girlfriend?”
“No. Girl space friend. Do you think Sender A would be writing to us if she was already his girlfriend, Seungkwan?” The host reading clears throat, ready to continue the note. “Whenever we go out, people always assume we’re related in some way since we’re roommates and apparently the only explanation for opposite sexes to become roommates is if one or both are gay or if they’re related.”
A hiss of annoyance followed soon after. “So outdated.”
“I know.”
“While I tend to correct people that we’re actually childhood friends, he, on the other hand, doesn't bother to correct anyone. In fact, he even seems to like that idea by mentioning that ‘it’s practically the same thing’ when I asked him why he never bothered correcting it to anyone.”
“Oof.”
“On top of this, he has a tendency to lean on me when it comes to relationship advice. He’s only dated a few girls casually here and there throughout our years of knowing each other all these years, however it's become more frequent ever since we started attending the university. While it’s not by much, I’ve heard enough of his stories about his previous girlfriends more than I’d like to admit and it doesn’t help with my situation.”
“Talk about a punch to the gut.”
“Right? Sender A continues by mentioning that she’s been wanting to say something to him but all these signals are pointing to a completely opposite direction and believes she might need to move out if something doesn’t get done. Sender A ends it with ‘I usually don’t ask three random strangers on a radio show to help make decisions like this, however none of my friends know about my situation. Please help me out, BSS Radio hosts. Sincerely, a hopeless romantic’. Man…”
“That’s tough. Thank you for choosing us to help you out though!”
“Dokyeom, you punk! They clearly said we were her last resort so speak carefully.” Seungkwan’s voice chimes in, followed by an irritated sigh. “From the sounds of things Sender A, you sound like you’re at odds with this situation at the moment. You want to tell someone you’ve known your whole life something serious while also keeping whatever dynamic it is you have the same, which will no doubt change if you do end up following through with your plans. In my opinion, I’d consider this a Letter, since you aren’t entirely sure how he feels yet.”
A hum followed, clearly agreeing with Seungkwan’s response. “I think this feels like this might be a Letter, too—but that doesn’t mean you should give up! Afterall, just because you don’t know how he feels doesn’t mean anything, right Hoshi?”
The host who had read let out a strained cough. “Y-Yeah… Definitely not the end of it just because we deemed it a Letter. Like Seungkwan said, you just seem unsure of your decisions and this Letter can turn into Love with the right course of action. This has been the Love or Letter segment of BSS Radio Show, onto other campus news—”
The quick shut down of the radio show invited the bustling noise coming from the cafe that [Name] had forgotten she was even in. Frustration bubbled up in her stomach as she thought back on the declaration of her current predicament. For a moment, she had the childish belief that the BooSeokSoon Radio hosts had the answer she actually wanted; that all came crumbling down as she listened to her submission being read out loud.
Embarrassment flooded through her as the story relayed in her head. Had it sounded that obvious he wasn’t into her? If it was, then why did she even bother sending that kind of message for a huge crowd to hear? [Name] could only ponder this question as she took a sip of her coffee, mouth pursing as the bitterness washed the piece of cake she had eaten just a few minutes ago.
Her eyes glanced over at the cafe’s door, body shaking in anticipation. She felt as if she had been at the cafe for hours on end, though she was sure it was only less than an hour. The radio show had taken up the majority of her time, her term paper long forgotten the minute she noticed an email saying BooSeokSoon would present her message for this week’s segment.
“A waste of time that is…” [Name] hissed under her breath, blowing at a fallen stray of hair.
“What’s a waste of time?” A voice asked. [Name] nearly froze in her spot, eyes flicking back to the door before going back to the owner of the voice, who stood so close, her face nearly ran into his stomach. [Name] gave him a slight shove, ignoring his humored chuckle and the fact he clenched his abdomen when her hand made contact with him.
“Being here and waiting for your class to end.” [Name] responded, motioning for him to sit across from her, a cup of coffee similar to her’s waiting for him. “I don’t know how you can enjoy that coffee so much. It tastes like sadness and dead poets.”
Wonwoo laughed. God it’s a cute laugh. “That’s… Actually a good way of putting it. How’d you figure out I was a tortured artist?”
[Name] watched him sit down, his larger frame towering over the small chair as he shifted. She almost laughed at how he hunched himself over, something he always had done since they were children to appear smaller than he originally would. However, it looked as if something was poking at his lower back and he was avoiding it.
No matter how many times [Name] pointed out to Wonwoo how strange he looked, he never failed to put himself into that position. She wasn’t sure if it was to be considerate of others or just to make her laugh at this point.
“Maybe because we’ve known each other for 15 years of our lives? Or you’re a literature major. And you dress like someone’s grandpa. You even sit like one—”
“I get it, I get it.” Wonwoo replied, raising his arms in surrender. He shuffled through his bag, pulling out his laptop and notebook, casting a glance at [Name]’s unopened laptop and earbuds. “Did you get any far with your paper?”
“Huh? Yeah, yeah…” [Name] said dismissively, looking away as she snatched her phone. Wonwoo narrowed his eyes at the action. As if on instinct, he offered his hand. “Won—”
“Phone. Now.” He commanded, face stern for a second before a pacifying smile made its way to his face. “Please. We made a deal, remember? No phone until you get a page done.”
“Yeah, yeah.” [Name] grumbled, handing her phone over to him, breath hitching for a second when she felt the tips of his fingers grazed her wrist lightly. Wonwoo let out a gentle thank you before shoving the phone into his pocket, a smile still settled on his face. He pulled out an earbud, handing one half over to [Name] as he played one of her favorite songs for the both of them.
Work followed soon after, [Name] typing furiously at her term paper while Wonwoo flicked through pages of a book written by some writer older than their own grandmothers. Every now and then, [Name] glanced across, taking in her friend’s appearance.
His hair was windswept from the autumn breeze, clearly slicked back just a few moments ago before entering the cafe. He had just recently changed his glasses prescription, finally listening to [Name] when she suggested a pair of circular glasses instead of his usual blocky choice. It framed his face nicely, highlighting his cheekbones whenever he smiled, though it always drew [Name] to look at his lips right afterward.
How can someone be so… Wonwoo? A strange way of putting it, yes, but what else was [Name] supposed to compare him to? She could imagine all the beautiful and fascinating things possible and all of that pales in comparison to him. For some reason she couldn’t make up her mind if he was one or the other at this point.
“Were you listening to the BSS Radio Show again?” He asked all of a sudden, making [Name] jump back to look at her paper again just in case he looked away from his book.
“It’s scary how well you know me so well.” [Name] commented with a shiver.
“What’s so interesting about their radio show anyways? I’ve never seen you pay attention to that until now.”
[Name] knocked her fingers against his, a smirk etched on her face. “Maybe I think one of the hosts is cute. Y’know one of them, Seokmin, is in my Speech 101 class?”
Wonwoo frowned at the notion, gently flicking his fingers at the tips of her’s as a response. “You can’t even talk to someone if you find them remotely attractive.
That’s what you think. [Name] stuck her tongue out at him. “They’ve got… Insightful moments.”
Wonwoo raised an eyebrow. “They only say insightful things when they’re doing Love or Letter, which I know you definitely don’t listen to.”
[Name] almost threw up at the mention of that dreaded segment. She straightened her back at the comment, however. “What’s that supposed to mean? That I’m not romantically available?”
Wonwoo gave her a shocked look. “No—like, I mean like you’re not the type to be into listening to that kind of show.”
“What type of person do you see me as then?” [Name] challenged, eyes glinting for a moment as she gave Wonwoo a pointed look as he opened and closed his mouth for a second. For a second she wondered if he understood her double meaning, her thoughts completely flying out the window when he let out a sigh of defeat.
“I offended you, didn’t I?” Wonwoo asked. “Sorry, I just meant to say that you usually don’t pay attention to people’s plights for entertainment, especially if it’s personal like romantic issues.”
This idiot. Maybe [Name] shouldn’t stick to dropping hints. If she continues on with this kind of confession style, Wonwoo would most likely be in a grave by the time she has the courage to confess her feelings. [Name]’s stomach dropped at the idea. She wasn’t sure she wanted to wait that long; she’s waited long enough.
“Wonwoo—”
“Oh my God, Wonwoo is that you?” A new voice chimed in, making [Name] stop her words, glancing over at a girl—a pretty girl—waving her hand at the lines their way. [Name]’s stomach nearly dropped as she watched Wonwoo’s face light up and wave an arm in return, pushing himself off his seat.
“I’ll be right back.” Wonwoo said quietly, making sure to be quick with his strides as went up to talk to the girl. A frown settled on [Name]’s face as she recalled him never being so hasty with his actions with her like he had with the girl. She did her best to go back to the paper instead of putting all her attention on the two people in front of her, who looked painfully good together.
His mouth was quirked up, being attentive to whatever the pretty girl was telling him by providing a nod or simple response to her as they spoke. They didn’t speak for long, Wonwoo pointing at their shared table. [Name] cast her eyes back at the screen, pretending to be focused on her essay instead of them. Her eyes didn’t let up from the screen until she noticed Wonwoo come back, a content look etched on his face.
“Friend of yours?” [Name] teased, half hoping he’d give her information and the other half to dispel the drop in her gut as she thought of the best and worst things possible.
Wonwoo only let out a hum, smiling down at his work. That certainly wasn’t an answer [Name] expected. Or wanted, for that matter. She wasn’t sure what to respond with so she made sure to look back at her own work, typing nonsense instead of actual meaningful words that might help affect the course of her grade.
The silence lasted for only a moment, however, as Wonwoo’s gaze lifted towards her, eyes alight as he asked, “What did you wanna ask me again?”
“Huh?”
“Before I went up to Chaewon. You had something to say to me, right?”
[Name]’s mouth fell open for a moment, unsure of her circumstances anymore. If it had been just a moment ago, she was sure to have told Wonwoo about her affection. After witnessing his reaction to that girl—Chaewon—though…
“I… Can’t remember.” [Name] said, feigning an apologetic smile. Wonwoo only let a hesitant nod, eyes not leaving her face. Unwavering, [Name] motioned to his book. “You better keep reading unless you expect the book to write your analysis, do you?”
Tumblr media
An exhausted sigh escaped [Name]’s lips once she found herself shutting the door of her apartment. If she hadn’t been at school or studying for exams, she found herself working on campus, a task that is almost as exhausting as studying and attending classes.
If it hadn’t been for the millions of accidents coupled with the slow coworkers, maybe her work day wouldn’t have been as stressful as it had been that day. [Name] could already feel her eyes drop heavily as soon as she stepped foot into the comforts of her home. She had almost missed Wonwoo lounging in the living room had she been any more tired.
“Welcome back.” Wonwoo greeted, a smile erupting when [Name] groaned in reply. She wasted no time tossing herself over the couch he was sitting on, staring at the ceiling as she felt Wonwoo’s leg shake beneath her head from the laugh he let out. For a second, [Name] shut her eyes, relishing in the laugh. “That tired, huh?”
“You don’t even know. How can someone be in their twenties and not know how to be an effective worker? Am I in some alternate universe where I’m in a constant state of being Punk’d?” [Name] complained, not stopping to take a breath as she let her bottled up irritation finally burst. A hum could only be heard from her friend, urging her to continue.
“Not to mention how irritating customers can be—ugh, don’t even get me started on them, Woo. One of them got mad when I asked if she already purchased an item that was set aside and started grilling me on some bullshit about ‘not believing her’. I was just making sure she bought the item! The nerve of some people…”
“That sounds frustrating.” Wonwoo agreed, reaching out to grasp at the hair tie on [Name]’s head and gently pulling it off. A hand ran through her hair, putting a pause on [Name]’s rambles. She wasn’t sure how long they stayed that way—Wonwoo basically giving her a massage to help destress. She kept her eyes closed either way. She was unsure if she wanted to risk getting a good look at her best friend, who was most definitely staring at her right now.
She wasn’t sure why it was such a habit of his—the incessant staring. It was a bad habit Wonwoo had; [Name] lost count of how many times she had to drag him out from places when his staring habit put him into unnecessary trouble.
[Name] hadn’t minded his staring—he was usually lost in his own thoughts and not bothering her since he was so quiet. Not to mention he had killer massaging skills.
She opted to let the silence continue. Wonwoo seemed to not mind, equally enjoying her presence as much as she had with him. His fingers, deft and soft, worked out the tangles in her hair. He was careful to be gentle when facing harsh knots, massaging at the tender spots if he tugged too hard, earning a small hum in appreciation of his efforts.
“You’re spoiled, you know that right?” Wonwoo suddenly commented. [Name] responded with a sharp slap to his knee. “Ow! I’m just saying! Who gets treated like this by their roommate?”
“Oh so we’re just roommates now, huh?” [Name] teased, opening her eyes. “Let’s just throw away a decade worth of friendship. I see how it is, you heartless jerk.”
“Ahh, you gaslighter.” Wonwoo groaned, poking her side in retaliation. A laugh escaped from [Name], fighting off his hands as she tried to get herself off of her friend. He seemed to have known what she was doing, though, from the way he dropped his other arm to wrap around her shoulders and bring her to his side to keep poking at her sides with his other one.
“Woo, I swear to God—AH!” [Name] shrieked, smacking at his arms to get him away from her after his fingers coincidentally found its way to a certain spot that made her laugh a little harder than she liked. “I swear if you tickle me anymore I will be putting honey in your hair while you’re sleeping.”
“Oh really?” Wonwoo asked, turning her over and holding her arms in place.
“Yes really—”
Her voice caught in her throat as Wonwoo looked down to stare at her. Usually, she had been pretty good at hiding her feelings toward him—a quick change in facial expressions when she caught herself smiling for too long when he was failing at cooking eggs in the mornings, keeping her glances fleeting when they studied together, opting to tease him instead of complimenting his appearance to keep up with appearances.
[Name] wasn’t exactly sure how she could evade this moment. Or if she even wanted to move at the sight in front of her. Wonwoo had clearly been home hours before [Name] came home. Besides the soft pajamas underneath her head, his hair had not been touched and was angled every which way. His glasses looked like they were on the verge of falling as he kept his gaze down toward her. It didn’t help that his chest—Jesus, did his chest always feel that muscular?—was taking deep breaths, clearly just as winded as she was of their wrestling match.
The sight was endearing. She was more than sure Wonwoo could do anything and make it look beautiful in her eyes, though, so she might have a bit of a bias. [Name] chewed at her lip as an all too familiar thought passed through her head. Now’s your chance. Her mouth opened for a split second, trying to form the words she’s been so desperate to let out for the past few months.
“I’d consider this a Letter, since you aren’t entirely sure how he feels yet.”
A Letter. A chance of rejection is probably high. Should she really risk a friendship over a love confession? Maybe. It’s highly tempting, especially with how he looks right now—so effortlessly handsome, it was irritating, honestly.
Wonwoo’s eyes softened for a brief moment. Carefully, he brushed the tips of his fingers against her cheek to grab her attention. “You good?”
[Name] felt her throat dry up, immediately getting up from her spot. “Y-Yeah. Just remembered I need to take a shower. I’ll make dinner tonight!”
Wonwoo looked as if he were ready to reach out a hand to stop her, but [Name] made sure to keep a distance from him. “Are you sure? You seemed pretty worn out today, though. I can make—”
“No, it's fine! I’ll get my energy back after I wash the stink out of me. I’ll be back soon!” [Name] interrupted, making her steps quick as she turned around to run to the bathroom.
Once she found herself in their shared bathroom, [Name] slid down the door in a huff. Her heart was nearly ready to jump out of her chest as the moment replayed in her head. She could feel her face heat up as she remembered her original task of confessing, which was a complete failure again.
“I’m so screwed…” She whispered to herself.
Tumblr media
Three weeks. It had been three weeks since [Name]’s embarrassing attempt of admitting her feelings to Wonwoo. The moment replayed in her head more times than she’d like to admit, constantly beating herself up at missing the opportunity of confessing again.
“Hey, if you’re going to have that lovesick look on your face all day, you might as well take the rest of the day off. You’re gonna scare the customers.” Chan chastised, words harsh, but the smile on his face indicated he wasn’t at all irritated in the slightest.
[Name] huffed. “I do not look lovesick.”
Chan snorted in response. “You must think I’m stupid then.” A crumpled up coffee filter found its way bouncing off his dark hair and a blank stare from the girl as a response. Chan let out a sigh. “You don’t have to talk about it if you’re not comfortable. You just seem… Sad lately.”
“Sad?” [Name] inquired, Chan nodding. It had only been a week and half since [Name]’s second failed attempt at her confession and if she were to be honest, [Name] was a little upset with herself after she managed to overcome her embarrassment. The moments continued to relay in her head, letting her self pity overtake at times.
But was she that obvious? [Name] worried if Wonwoo ever caught on; he always had a tendency to read the room, especially when it came to her. He always seemed to understand when she was overdoing or uncomfortable before she was even able to comprehend her emotions. What’s the possibilities if he picked up on her recent habits? A high chance, only making her question why hadn’t he mentioned anything to her?
This only sparked her worrisome behavior even more, eyebrows furrowing further, though she wasn’t able to spiral any further when the sensation of a sharp poke to her forehead brought her back down to reality. “Ow?” [Name] prompted, hand covering her forehead as she looked at Chan.
“You’re doing it again.” He admonished, frowning too. “Are you sure you’re okay?”
“Honestly? No, not really.” [Name] admitted, leaning back to watch the entrance of the café to see if anyone had walked in yet. “It’s kinda complicated.”
“Complicated how?”
“A guy kind of complicated.”
“Ah…” Chan hummed. “I have no idea what that means.”
[Name] only groaned quietly, fighting off the urge to waste any more work products to throw at her younger coworker’s head. “Nevermind. It’s hard to explain.”
“We’ve got five hours until our shift ends. I think I can grasp difficult concepts.” Chan reassures, chest puffing up proudly
“Fine, fine. I don’t even know where to start. There’s this guy…”
[Name] wasted no time explaining her hopeless conundrum—her seemingly unrequited love to the Love or Letter segment and even the embarrassing, half-hearted attempts of her confessions.
Surprisingly, Chan managed to keep up with her, despite her lack of tracking with the timeline and needing to run back and forth between explanations. She’d pause for a second, watching to see if he was even hearing her despite his nods, receiving encouraging hums whenever they made eye contact.
For some reason, this brought her to relax more as she began to speak freely. At one point, she even brought up the Chaewon girl from their study session (or study “date” from Chan’s point of view—again, he was served a hit to the leg with [Name]’s towel). Chan had been kind enough to provide a third party viewpoint, mentioning that she could more likely have been a project partner with Wonwoo and nothing more.
By the time she finished, [Name] could almost feel the tears prick at the corners of her eyes. She hadn’t exactly expected herself to pour her thoughts and feelings into one night, albeit someone she hadn’t really expected—the sarcastic first year Lee Chan who always seemed to keep himself guarded with his own feelings despite having the most expressive display of emotions.
“Wow…” Chan said. “That sounds like a lot of unnecessary stress.”
“Lee Chan…”
“But I can see why you’re so caught up on your feelings about him.” Chan said, making [Name] raise her eyebrows at him. “Trust me, I’m having similar issues. I’m honestly making more mistakes than you.”
[Name] only nodded as a response, knowing when to not ask questions.  “Idiots in love.” She sighed out in despair, Chan holding out a fist for her to bump in solidarity.
“Idiots in love.” The younger man chanted back. “I think you should tell him, though. Despite getting a Letter.”
“...Why though?” [Name] asked, a look of horror crossing her face.
“Because you’re undeniably in love with this guy and from the sounds of things he’s acting like you’re the center of his universe.”
Chan was quick to dodge the towel thrown at his head. [Name] could only watch as the towel dropped on the ground, not ready to move just yet as she fought off the embarrassment rising from her neck.
“You—I—What part of me saying anything to you made you think that?" [Name] asked.
Chan only patted her shoulder. "You're literally hopeless. How are you about to graduate in less than a year?"
"I'm being practical."
"You're being in denial." Dino corrected, head turning when the sound of a door squeaking came to life. "If you're not going to accept it, let's just go back to work."
[Name] didn't respond, only watching as Chan walked up to the register to greet customers. Her? The center of Wonwoo's universe? In what way did she make it sound like that? [Name] could only scoff at the comment, turning away to continue with work, doing her best to find herself engrained in her tasks instead of Chan's words.

From [Name] 😒:
at the location. where are you? Sent 07:50 PM
From Wonwoo:
close by. why did i have to grab the blanket? hao was already at the apartment looking for something you asked him to get 😭 Sent 07:50 PM
From [Name] 😒:
wasnt answering my text. where now? Sent 07:52 PM
Wonwoo let out a sigh at the last text. Impatient as always. Especially when she was excited about something, It’s almost as bad as her memory when she’s in a hurry, which also seems to be something she does when she’s excited.
He wasn’t exactly sure how many times he had to head back to their apartment to retrieve whatever it was [Name] forgot on her way to the campus grass but he hadn’t bothered to count after she frowned at him when a refusal almost slipped off the tip of his tongue.
“You’re lucky we’re friends.” Wonwoo grumbled as he handed off his backpack to [Name], who was gracious enough to offer to hold it so he didn’t need to drag it back to their home. He watched as [Name] hiked the large bag onto her shoulders, a smile forming when he noticed how much the bag stuck out from her, reminding him of a snail.
He was careful to tug off a strand of hair that was trapped under a strap as [Name] smiled up at him. “Don’t act like you don’t treat everyone with the same fake courtesies.” She teased, knocking her fist onto his arm.
Wonwoo rolled his eyes in response. “With you, I don’t think I can treat you the same way as everyone else.”
He had left shortly after that, not wanting to see [Name]’s face when he said the last part, which almost sounded as awkward as when he thought of it. Wonwoo could have died right then and there if he didn’t turn to run back to their apartment. His brain hadn’t allowed him to stop thinking about it until he got a call from Minghao, who they both deemed trustworthy enough to have a key for their apartment, mentioning he was inside to retrieve another item [Name] left behind and needed to have.
They had spent less than five minutes looking for the items before trudging back, Wonwoo with a bag full of chips and blanket and Minghao with [Name]’s portable charger in their hands. Wonwoo struggled to text [Name] back, mentioning they were nearing the clearing on campus where they agreed to meet everyone else.
“You know she can wait on that text, right?” Minghao reminded him. “Your chips are about to fall.”
Wonwoo was quick to hit send before readjusting his hold on the chips. “Yeah I know. I guess I’m just used to responding so quickly to [Name] I don’t want her to think I’m ignoring her or anything.”
Minghao hummed. “[Name] always takes forever to respond with my messages.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. It took her a day to respond to a message from me asking what she wanted from the nearby bakery.”
The last time [Name] had taken so long to respond to him was only an hour because she was out on a lecture. “Huh…”
Minghao only opted to shoot an expressionless smile at Wonwoo’s curious hum, speeding up when he took notice of Jun’s towering figure next to [Name]. Minghao muttered something to Jun quickly in Mandarin, prompting the older man to land a slight nudge to his shoulder as a wordless response.
[Name] let out a laugh at the banter, making Jun offer an embarrassed smile in response. Wonwoo couldn’t help but frown at the small interaction, a feeling in his gut dropping. It disappeared once [Name] recognized him moving closer to them, the grin on her face never leaving as she ran up to him.
She tugged the blanket off his hand. “I promise I don’t need anything anymore.”
Wonwoo only shot her a doubtful look as they spread the blanket out together. Once all four were settled down, [Name] was quick to make the center of the blanket her spot, laying down as she stared up at the empty sky.
“How much longer?” She grumbled at Wonwoo, who settled himself to her right.
“So impatient.” Wonwoo jokes, prodding her side. [Name] squeaked, though she didn’t bother moving away from him, only keeping a hand on his wrist to keep him from doing anything else. “Vernon said they’ll start at 8:30. It’s still 8:20.”
[Name] groaned in response, rubbing her eyes. “I might be asleep by then…”
“Stay awake.” Wonwoo reprimanded, tugging her eyelid up.
“Gahhh.” [Name] grumbled, earning a “Gahh” back from Wonwoo. Regardless, she kept her eyes closed for a moment, breathing in the air. "When was the last time I laid down like this?"
"Summer before we started high school. Your brother threw a mud pie at your face and you went to my house for some reason to cry about it." Wonwoo responded. From beside them, he spotted Jun and Minghao engrossed in their own conversation, both their eyes shifting to a pair of girls on their phones a few blankets away.
"That's because I knew you'd  let me play your games out of pity." [Name] responded, laughing at the memory. "I can't believe you even remember that."
"I remember a lot of things."
"Hopefully I'm in most of them." [Name] respondes cheekily, scooting closer to Wonwoo to nudge his shoulder.
Actually you're all of them. Wonwoo wanted to say, but he wasn't stupid enough to say that, despite it being the truth. No matter how far back he can fish for memory, [Name] was always a constant in every single one of them.
In every good or bad moment Wonwoo experienced, he always managed to remember that [Name] was with him and would do something so spectacularly outrageous or kind that he couldn't help but etch her into his mind.
His stomach turned again, all those memories rushing back in, hyperfocused on [Name]'s presence than whatever life lesson he was supposed to learn from them. He kept his gaze up at the sky, hearing a loud whizzing noise shoot up before colors burst out of seemingly thin air.
Everyone gasped. Jun's mouth dropped open wider and wider at the fireworks, grinning excitedly at Wonwoo when their eyes met for a brief period. Minghao was nowhere to be seen—Wonwoo guessed it might have to do with one of the girls he and Jun were eyeing.
Wonwoo let himself get lost at the bright skyline, marveling at the colors illuminating the campus fields. Whistles from other groups were heard, making Wonwoo laugh at their amusement.
“Ahhh, there’s always fireworks for any event the university hosts and everyone acts like it’s the first time anyone’s seen them.” Wonwoo jokes.
He had half expected [Name] to just hum or say a joke in passing, too occupied with the fireworks to hear what he’s saying. No such actions were made. Wonwoo turned his head down, curious to her silence, but was quick to learn why.
“Of course you fall asleep before the fireworks.” Wonwoo whispers to her, brushing off the curtain of hair that fell over her face. Everything was completely still for him, the sounds of cheering and fireworks falling deaf to Wonwoo’s ears as he watched a newer, more fascinating sight.
[Name]’s breathing was heavy and deep; a clear sign she hadn’t been sleeping too well. Wonwoo should be concerned at the thought, but he couldn’t help but appreciate the chance to see her this way—so relaxed, so unguarded around him.
Recently, [Name] seemed so… Distant. Wonwoo wasn’t sure if it was something he had done and she was just waiting for him to acknowledge any mistake he made or if she was just preoccupied with school and he was reading too much into her actions. Regardless, he felt as if he hadn’t seen his best friend in forever and he was just seeing her now—beautifully flawless despite her antics.
A breeze passed by, making [Name] shiver. She stirred only slightly, though, turning her body to the closest heat source: him. Wonwoo didn’t fight against her as she curled herself into his side, letting out a sigh of relief once her head pushed itself to his shoulder.
Wonwoo froze only for a second—majority of that second consisting of him internally screaming like some lovesick school girl—before he maneuvered his arm carefully around her back, pulling her closer to him as he wrapped his arms around her.
[Name] was quick to move her head onto his chest instead of his shoulder at the new position, her arms wrapping around his middle and her legs tangling with his by the time Wonwoo finished adjusting himself. Again, Wonwoo let himself stop moving for a moment to internally wonder what life he saved in his past life to put himself into this position.
“Oh?” A voice beside him says. Wonwoo peaks over the mass of hair in front of him to see Jun grinning their way, not paying attention to the fireworks anymore.
“Shut up.” Wonwoo warned, eyes narrowing behind his glasses.
“I didn’t say anything.” Jun defended.
“Just shut up anyways.”
Jun rolled his eyes, turning his attention back to the fireworks with a smirk. “Whatever. Text me once you tell her how you feel by the way. I made a bet with Hao and I wanna pool in my prize money.”
Wonwoo felt his jaw drop. “You made a bet on my love life?”
“Yeah,” Jun admitted with a shrug. “Don’t worry, though. Once you’re done with your little pining we can make a bet against Hao and that one girl he’s working with. Something tells me he’s worse than you about admitting his feelings to someone.”
“You—”A groan could be heard beside Wonwoo as he started talking. [Name] was stirring in her sleep, clearly feeling his voice reverberating against his chest as he spoke. Wonwoo was quick to stop himself, squeezing [Name] gently to keep her from waking up. “You’re lucky she’s asleep.”
Jun chuckled. “You’re lucky she’s asleep.”
Damn Jun. Was the only thought that went through Wonwoo’s head. He gave up on his argument with Jun, half afraid of waking [Name] and half afraid of admitting the truth that, yes, he’s the biggest idiot alive for not realizing until now just how undeniably in love he is with his childhood friend and all those years of him watching her back wasn’t just out of friendly courtesy.
By the time the fireworks died out, Wonwoo was still pondering on his next move. Minghao came back, a small smile edging on his usually stoic face. He made no argument against Jun as they helped pack Wonwoo and [Name]’s stuff while the taller of the three men woke [Name] up.
“Hey, come on.” Wonwoo urged, grinning when [Name] opened her eyes. “We have to go back home.”
“Did I miss the fireworks?” [Name] grumbled, staring at the nearly empty field. Wonwoo nodded. “Damn…” She knocked her head against his chest. “At least you’re a really comfortable pillow.”
God take him now. “Thanks.”
[Name] groaned as she picked herself up, offering a hand to Wonwoo to help him up. She only offered small conversation with Jun and Minghao, too focused on trying to find her footing after napping for so long. Wonwoo was quick to put an arm on her shoulder, leading as best as possible.
He shot Jun and Minghao a warning look when he heard one of them snicker to one another, conversing in Mandarin through hushed whispers (though, he was more than sure he heard [Name] and the word money be passed around a bit).
“You okay?” [Name] asked suddenly, making Wonwoo jump at her sudden concern. [Name] gave him a funny look. “You look constipated.”
“I’m fine.” Wonwoo said, voice a little too stiff for his liking. [Name] didn’t seem to buy into it either, though she didn’t bother to push further, most likely for privacy’s sake.
“Whatever you say…”
Wonwoo let a comfortable silence they were familiar with wave through them, the scraping of their sneakers against the pavement being the only sounds to come from them. Every now and then, he shot glances their way, watching as [Name]’s eyes blinked a little too hard at street lights.
Heh. Cute.
“What?”
“Huh?” Wonwoo asked, heart hammering out of his chest as he realized he just verbalized a very, very private thought. “I said, ‘Huh. Cool.’ at that star over there.”
[Name] glanced up at the sky, a frown on her face as she attempted to find whatever star it was Wonwoo was pointing at. “I don’t see a star—”
“You’re just blind then.”
“You—!”
Tumblr media
She was about to cry. He didn’t even need to look at her to tell that she was crying; he could hear her sniveling all the way from the kitchen. Peaking over the window counter, Wonwoo glanced over at [Name] narrowing her eyes at her computer screen.
Yeah, she's definitely going to cry. And she definitely hadn’t eaten yet. No matter how many times Wonwoo warns her about her health, [Name] had a tendency to avoid eating until she was finished with whatever assignment it was she was working on. And crying was just a natural response out of her for papers at this point—meaning she was dehydrating and starving herself at this point.
Wonwoo glanced at his plate, which consisted of a sloppy looking burger at what Mingyu had attempted to teach him earlier.
“How can someone so independent be so useless at something like cooking?” He remembered Mingyu complaining after another failed attempt at making a burger with him the other night. Wonwoo had essentially trapped his poor underclassman, under the guise of offering to edit his literature papers for the rest of the next semester if he helped him achieve the impossible: cooking a decent meal.
“What even made you want to do this in the first place? You never found it interesting until now.”
“Something came over me.”
“Well let’s hope it passes over soon because you’re an impossible student at this point.”
Wonwoo was surprised he hadn’t managed to burn down a portion of their kitchen when he made the meal. Still, it didn’t stop the fact it looked like it was going to come to life at some point.
He sighed. “Even I wouldn’t eat something like this…” He mumbled, looking over at [Name], who is still engrossed in her paper. Her hair was down, a sight he was the only one he was able to see often since she kept it tied up and away when they weren’t at home. Her eyes were watering, from the computer screen or tears of frustration, Wonwoo wasn't sure anymore.
[Name]’s lips were chapped too, obviously neglecting any water despite the water gathering behind her eyes. She licked at them in an attempt to ignore the growing sahara in her throat. Wonwoo swallowed down his nervousness, the burger thrown into the trash and a cold glass of water in his hand as he made his way to [Name].
Gently, he placed the water against the back of her neck, causing her to jump up with a scream. [Name] gripped at her laptop screen as she spun around, eyes wide awake now. Wonwoo could only offer a dismantling smile, offering the water to her wordlessly. [Name], still quite offended at his sudden presence, took it gratefully, chugging the water without question and setting it down on the table.
“Let’s get some food.” Wonwoo suggested, nudging her arm with his hand gently.
Surprisingly, those words alone were enough (or it could have been the part when Wonwoo offered to pay for her meal). Wonwoo could only watch in amazement as [Name] seemed to have some sort of skip to her step as they made their way to their favorite restaurant, a hole in the wall noodle shop known to be open in the late hours.
The server, an older woman who seemed to practically live there, offered a smile and wave to the both of them as she set a bowl down to a table where a lone man sat. “It’s been a while.”
“It’s the time for finals.” [Name] admitted, flinching when Wonwoo placed his large hand on her head.
“I’m just dragging her out to eat.”
The older woman smiled. “How sweet of you. I’ll get your usuals out and you can take a seat anywhere.”
Both nodded, situating themselves against a wall as they sat and waited for their food. [Name] mindlessly tapped at the table, humming an English song—Taylor Swift?—to herself as she examined the people in the restaurant. Her eyes stopped a little longer at the table the woman stopped at earlier, eyes narrowing slightly as she examined the man.
Wonwoo recognized him, but wasn’t entirely sure where exactly he was from. Regardless, it’s hard to even notice him with the copious amounts of black he’s covered himself in, making him blend into the dark wall. A red watch was around his wrist, which seemed to constantly light up with messages he didn’t bother to look at as he sipped mindlessly at his noodles.
A frown settled on his face as [Name] continued to stare, though he bit back whatever jealousy was bubbling up in him. “You think he’s cute?” Wonwoo teased, hoping the smile on his face didn’t match the bitterness he bit back.
[Name]’s widened, face morphing to embarrassment. Clearly, she wasn’t expecting him to be watching her long enough to notice. “No! Nothing like that; I just know him. He’s one of the producers for BooSeokSoon Radio. I can’t remember his name. Lee Jimin?”
“Jihoon.” Wonwoo corrected, finally remembering him. “Isn’t he the one that got popular around campus because Hoshi posted a selfie with him when he wasn’t looking?”
“Yeah and everyone thought he was hot?” [Name] whispered quietly. They both looked back this time, examining the man’s side profile. “I mean, they aren’t wrong.”
She laughed when she felt Wonwoo tug at a strand of her hair. “Superficial.”
“I’m just saying something we’re all thinking, Woo.” [Name] answered with a cheeky grin. Wonwoo rolled his eyes, though the bitterness was well pushed aside in favor of the easy going conversation.
Time flew by as they continued to speak, most of it being meaningless conversations, though Wonwoo hadn’t minded. He wasn’t much of a talker, meaning [Name] was the one who continued with the rambles and he was more than willing to not talk if it meant just watching and listening to her.
It seemed like forever when the food arrived. Wonwoo wasn’t exactly concerned with however long it took, if he were to be honest, but something in his stomach flipped when he watched [Name]’s eyes widen in excitement when favorite noodles were placed in front of them. [Name] made sure to smile up at the old woman and provided a grateful thank you before turning to her food.
Wonwoo watched her push her loose hair out of the way as she slurped at the noodles, not caring how messy it looked. She had been hungry and clearly hadn’t realized until now. A laugh almost escaped him at how her cheeks looked filled with noodles. Kind of like a chipmunk. A very cute chipmunk.
[Name] turned her eyes up, nearly making Wonwoo’s eyes widen when he realized two things: 1) He had yet to put his head down to eat his own noodles and 2) he was definitely smiling like an idiot right now.
“You okay?” [Name] asked curiously.
Wonwoo only nodded, wordlessly dipping down to eat his meal, so he wouldn’t be able to say no, he most definitely wasn’t okay. Especially when someone like her was always around him and he couldn’t seem to find any sort of courage to do anything about it.

“Wonwoo’s acting weird.” [Name] muttered. She was currently frowning at her paper, eyes practically glued to her computer. Chan nodded, clicking at his keyboard loudly as he listened to her.
After [Name]’s cry session with him, their friendship had graduated past the usual ones co-workers fall into—polite conversations turned into confession nights about their respective tumultuous love lives. Chan liked to call it a newly found kinship, while [Name] liked to call this an emotional support coworker situation.
There were even a few times both met outside of work settings to study together when no one else was able to come with them, like right now. They were sitting in a library, [Name] mulling over her research paper while Chan studied for his physiology final.
“What do you mean by that?” Chan inquired.
“He’s just been… Weird.” [Name] frowned at the word, not liking the sound of it to describe the taller man, though she hadn’t been wrong.
It was no secret that Wonwoo was quiet. But not as quiet as he’s been as of recent. [Name] could be sitting in their living room or eating whatever was left in their fridge in the kitchen and she wouldn’t notice him suddenly standing behind her, which frightened her a little too much.
Naturally, she would chastise him for making her jump, but he’d only reply with a quiet apology with a follow of silence afterwards once he made himself comfortable.
His eyes were always seemingly focused elsewhere, too. Wandering or gliding somewhere else whenever she found herself staring at him. Usually [Name] would come to some kind of conclusion as to why he was acting so differently, but even after a week of trying to figure him out, she couldn’t figure him out.
“Maybe he’s mad at you.” Chan suggested, eyes still trained on his notes.
“Mad at me for what?” [Name] muttered, mainly to herself. A buzz from her phone brought her back, looking down and sighing as she read her text. “Speak of the devil.”
Chan lifted his head, eyes trained on [Name] as she typed a response to Wonwoo. A grin spread on her face as her phone buzzed again from whatever message it was Wonwoo sent back to her. “Jesus, just date the man already. You’re grinning like an idiot. Also, you said no phones until 7:00PM.”
[Name] rolled her eyes. “It’s 6:54.”
“Yeah. Still not 7:00PM.” Dino responded, holding his hand out, to which [Name] maneuvered herself away from him. “Hey, you can’t break the rules!”
“It was a roommate situation.”
“A roommate situation or a Wonwoo is the one texting situation?”
[Name] offered a glare his way. “Roommate. Apparently something happened with the air conditioning in our apartment and we need to talk to our landlord, like, right now.”
Chan narrowed his eyes, clearly trying to see if she was fibbing. He let out a sigh, waving his hand away. “Yeah, yeah. Go deal with it then. You better be finished with your paper by the time I see you again.”
“Yeah, yeah…” [Name] said dismissively, packing her bag quickly.
She nearly lost her grip on the bag, however, when Chan added. “And you better turn that Wonwoo texting situation into a Wonwoo kissing situation.”
“Chan—”
“Bye.”
Chan turned his head down, popping an earbud into his ear, visibly turning the volume up on his laptop so he couldn’t hear her anymore. [Name] muttered a quiet groan, face heating up as she stomped out to make her way to her shared apartment with Wonwoo.

“Yeah, your A/C is broken.” The landlord commented. [Name] only blinked at him while Wonwoo could only respond with a stiff nod.
“Well… Duh.” [Name] said, motioning to her and Wonwoo, who were both covered head to toe in the fuzziest blankets known to man. By the time [Name] made her way home, Wonwoo had been near the door to drape a blanket over her and offer a warning that it was too cold to not have one on at the moment. “How long do you think it’ll take for the system to be fixed?”
The landlord hummed, not taking his eyes off his phone. An annoyed irk stung through [Name], only fighting off the urge to argue with him when Wonwoo placed a comforting hand on her lower back. Their eyes met briefly, [Name] clearly a bit confused but Wonwoo spoke up, albeit calmer in comparison to [Name].
“We just need to know so we can take precautions.” Wonwoo explained. “It’s starting to become colder outside and we’re at a higher part of the apartment complex…”
“I’d say maybe a week then.” The landlord said.
“A week…” [Name] mumbled to herself, wondering how they could possibly deal with something that long.
“I’d suggest maybe finding a friend to stay with for the time being or maybe even just rent a hotel room for now.” The landlord, making both only stare at him as a response. Clearly, he forgot they were college students living on a budget.
“We’ll manage.” Wonwoo said, proceeding to speak with the landlord while [Name] sat off to the side, doing her best to will the cold away with her blanket. She waited to say something until their front door closed and Wonwoo’s soft footsteps found themselves making their way toward [Name].
[Name] didn’t fight back when Wonwoo sat as close as possible to her, enjoying the heat that radiated off of him. “So… What now?”
Wonwoo only sighed, rubbing at the spot where his glasses sat as he tried to think. “I mean, if you’re really cold I’d say maybe follow the landlord’s suggestions? I can stay here and wait for when the electrician comes next week—”
“I’ll stay.” [Name] responded. “I’d feel bad if I left you alone here in the cold.”
Wonwoo nodded and they both slipped into an awkward silence. [Name] shifted slightly, not sure what to do next. Some part of her wanted to confront him, ready to ask him what was up with him for the past few weeks. Another part of her wanted to do something she’s been holding back on for so long: to confess.
From the corner of her eye, she can feel Wonwoo staring at her, as if anticipating something as well. [Name] bit at her tongue, deciding on neither as she picked herself up. “I’m going to get ready for bed. I’ll make sure to get you more blankets after I’m done.”
She walked off before she could hear Wonwoo talk. As much as she enjoyed his presence, the unaddressed pressure felt like it would have suffocated her if she stayed any longer. Maybe a warm shower might help calm her down? Maybe. [Name] wasn’t sure if something physical like that would help her in any way but it definitely was better than sitting and waiting for one of them to talk.
[Name] wasn’t sure how long she was in shower, but by the time she had been out, Wonwoo was already in his pajamas, pouring hot chocolate into two cups when she trudged into the kitchen. “Here. Drink it before you sleep.” Wonwoo offered, handing the warm cup into her hands.
Wonwoo was mesmerized. Well, for the past few weeks he’s been like that, a little mystified for his liking, but he couldn’t help it. No matter how small of a task she did, [Name] somehow managed to do it in her own kind of quirky way and Wonwoo picked up on every single habit.
Even when she was drinking the hot chocolate, he couldn’t help but notice the way [Name]’s fingers tapping at the ceramic cup every time she tilted the cup to tske a sip. He was sure his mouth dropped a little at the sight, but he was quick to close it when [Name] looked up at him. He averted his eyes to something else as well, not sure how he would react if she found him gaping at her like some lost puppy.
[Name] motioned a quick thank you, breathing in the sweet scent coming from the chocolate as she eyed the stovetop. “Did you try cooking again?”
Wonwoo was quick to hide the pan of eggs he accidentally burned earlier. “...No.”
“Jeon Wonwoo, what is with you and cooking these days?” [Name] chastised, walking around him, eyes widening in shock at the destruction behind his tall frame. She looked up at him, eyes filled with concern. “Are you sick of my cooking or something?”
“Wha—No!” Wonwoo countered. “I was just trying to learn so I could—”
He stopped mid sentence, biting back his next words. So I could impress you.
[Name] raised an eyebrow. “So you could…?”
“...cook for myself while you’re gone?” He said, hoping it sounded convincing enough.
[Name] examined him for a moment, eyebrows knit together as she processed his words.
“Are you sure?”
At this moment in time, Wonwoo wished he could just turn back time and not make up a lie like that again. “Mhm.”
“Okay then…” [Name] said, turning away, cup still in her hands. “Well, I’m going to sleep now. Goodnight.”
“‘Night.” Wonwoo said, keeping a stiff smile one his face until he couldn’t see her anymore. He dropped his head into his hands as he muttered to himself. “Jeon Wonwoo, you big idiot.”
[Name] wasn’t sure what else to do besides sleep. The energy meant for her paper flew out the window once she made it to her home. Most of it went into trying to think of their plan and the rest went into figuring out the mystery that is Jeon Wonwoo. If it hadn’t been so cold in her room, [Name] would have gotten a headache by now.
“Is he mad at me? Maybe he’s upset that I scolded him for the eggs?” She whispered to herself, thinking of Chan’s words. She shook her head. No, definitely not. But then why lie about his reasoning to start cooking?
Again, maybe it was a good thing the A/C wasn’t working for them. She’d rather focus on trying to get as warm as possible instead of what was beyond her door at this moment. She closed her eyes, thinking warm thoughts and warm places until she felt herself succumb to sleep.
At least, she tried to at least for the next two hours. She wasn’t sure how, but the cold managed to find its way under her large pile of blankets. [Name] could feel her own bones shaking at this point. She stayed under there for what felt like hours, feeling as if her body was going to freeze any time soon if she didn’t do anything about it.
A thought crossed her mind; a thought so seeded in desperation and exhaustion that [Name] thought she might be going crazy. She shook her head the minute an image flooded her mind.
If the circumstances weren’t so strange, [Name] wouldn’t even think twice in her decisions. Right now, [Name] was more than happy to stay curled up in a ball instead of whatever idea she just thought of.
[Name] was resolute with her ideas for several minutes, trying to convince herself it was warmer to stay where she was instead of ruining the little cocoon she made for herself. She had only given up when she felt a final cold breeze making its way through her back, causing goosebumps to erupt in her arms. She was quick to kick off her sheets and wrap them around her as she picked herself up and walked out her room and into Wonwoo’s.
He hadn’t been sleeping when she barged in, his glasses still attached to his face and whatever book he was reading was currently hanging off his fingertips as he looked up at [Name].
“What are you—” Wonwoo started, but was greeted with [Name] essentially flinging herself onto him.
“I’m cold and you’re the only other heater left in this place. Now, stay quiet and let me sleep because my bones won’t be as iced over when I wake up tomorrow.” [Name] responded in a rush, body pushed close enough to his body to the point that her cheek was resting against her shoulder.
Wonwoo could only look, not sure what to do next as she pulled her own blankets over his, trying to trap in as much warmth between them as possible. He set his book aside, hands hovering over her body as he tried to figure out what they should be doing next.
He decided to keep them at his sides, body barely moving as a million thoughts rounded off in his head. Why is she suddenly here? Was she that cold? God, what if he needs to use the bathroom? Her hair smells nice—
A slap to Wonwoo’s chest brought him back to reality. [Name] glared up at him. “Stop tapping your arm so much.” She grumbled, grabbing the arm against her’s. He hadn’t known it was moving so much. “Aren’t you uncomfortable laying like that? I know you sleep like you’re strapped to some target.”
“I’m fine like this,” Wonwoo answered. “I don’t want to make you uncomfortable.”
[Name] offered him an amused look. “I’m never uncomfortable if it’s you, Woo.” She responded honestly. A warm feeling erupted from his chest at that confession. “Even if you’ve been acting weird lately.”
Wonwoo laughed. “Who said I was being weird?”
He yelped when a painful sting came to his forehead. [Name] sat up onto her elbows, glaring at the tall man as if he said something offensive. “Don’t play dumb. I don’t get why, but you’ve been staring off into space lately and won’t look me in the eye sometimes. It’s a miracle we’re talking right now.”
His playful gaze softened immediately when they met her sharp ones. “Sorry, I didn’t know I was doing that so much lately. It’s just… I’m a coward.”
“A coward?” [Name] asked, raising an eyebrow.
Wonwoo nodded. “A big, fat coward.” He echoed back. “Call me an idiot, but why did it take me twenty-two years to realize I was in love with someone I’ve known my whole life?” [Name]’s eyes widened, but not a sound came from her. Wonwoo took it as his chance to keep going. “We grew up together, now we’ve lived together for almost four years so how come now is it that I realized that I’ve been hopelessly in love with you?”
“I—”
“Even before I realized, I was so annoyed when guys came up to you and I never once felt like I had to put something up whenever you’re around. And it took me this long to realize it wasn’t just because you were my best friend.” Wonwoo continued, not sure when he’ll have another opportunity to say something like this. He was scared, especially since this was so spontaneous—a trait he wasn’t exactly known for.
“Woo—”
“Look, you can reject me tomorrow but can we just stay like this—”
He wasn’t able to finish his sentence. How could he? A pair of lips slotted against his stopped him before he could utter his last words. Wonwoo stared up in shock. Half because he just confessed and half because oh my God, [Name] is kissing him. His mind blanked when she let up, a grin evident on her face.
“We can stay like this however long you want.” She offered, smiling. “Just, at least let me say that I do wonder, too, why it took you so long to figure that out when I’ve been waiting for a while now.”
Wonwoo’s jaw dropped. “You—Like romantically?”
“Would I have kissed you if it wasn’t?” [Name] countered, the pretty smile never leaving her face as she spoke.  “If it makes you feel better, I didn’t really pick up on your actions either; but that’s just because you’re a big oaf with no sense of emotional direction sometimes.”
“How long have you been waiting?” Wonwoo interrogated, turning his body fully towards her,
“Last year of high school. You earned high awards for all of high school and your parents threw you a party for high achievements. You didn’t even hesitate to take out that permanent marker and write my name down next to yours on that congratulations banner.” [Name] revealed, pushing some strands of hair out of his space as she spoke.
Wonwoo groaned. “That long?” He asked, embarrassment running through him. He laid his forehead against her shoulder, which shook from her laugh.
“Better late than never.” [Name] offered, though she wasn’t sure if she should be saying much either. She was more than ready to let her feelings for him die with her if he wasn’t going to say anything. Not to mention, she hadn’t exactly listened to anyone when they were pointing things out about him either (she had a feeling Chan was going to say something snarky when they meet again).
Wonwoo pulled her down to him, pressing himself as close to her as possible as he hugged her tightly. “Well, I guess I’ll have to make up for the four years of leaving you hanging like that.”
“That’s fine with me.” [Name] agreed, humming when she felt his lips press at the top of her head.
“That is, after you finish your essay, I mean.”
“Why do you like ruining nice moments…”
