Dad Aaron davis. Ft.the morales twins AU
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⚠️warning, this dies contain cussing, and us of n.word.⚠️
But other then that, enjoy.
.........................................
*when you were first born, your mom hated you, refused to touch you, and to even look at you. She hated you so much that she nearly dropped you on purpose. But somehow Aaron managed to convince her to stay, and lord was that a bad idea. She neglected you real bad, then it was when she finally snapped and just left.
*Aaron didn’t even know you excited till your mom was 5 months into the pregnancy
*Aaron had no intention of having a child, he was fine with being an uncle of two but not a father.
*Aaron had no idea what the hell he was doing, so much so that Rio and Jeff had to come over, and a lot of times Aaron had to come over cuz he had no idea what the hell he was doing
*like he was so clueless bro. Like he didn't know how to strap you in a car seat, he couldn't change a diaper, he couldn't even hold you properly.
*when i say he couldn't hold you properly to save his life, he couldn't. So much so Aaron could wasn't even able to touch you because Rio was scared he might drop you.
*so much so, that Rio made him practice on a life like doll...I'm being serious
*once he was finally able to hold you,he was still a little rocky so Jeff and Rio some time had to us one of the twins as an example.
*Since he’s bald he doesn't know how to do hair. Last time he did that he nearly gave you a buzz cut.
A: what's this used for again
R: NEVER, us those fine teeth combs it will pull out hair more, you only use the tip, to part her hair, use the big teeth comb
A: …and, why is there a toothbrush in here
R: You can use that brush for edges.
A: What is This????
*Since he knew father, (fresh out of the box)like I said he had no idea what to do. Mans couldn’t change a diaper, couldn’t put clothes on you, couldn't hold you right, couldn’t strap you in the car seat, he didn’t even know how to feed you either, was so confused.
*I mean he did know, cuz Jeff kinda sorta Taught him, you know when the twins were born. But when you were born, all the things he previously knew, went down the trash, he had no idea what to do anymore.
A: are they supposed to sleep this much*checks if you're breathing.*
*but when Aaron let the fact the he was a father finally sink in. He was set. He was a master at taking care of you.
*There was a good moment where you fooled everyone to make them think you were Autistic. But in reality you were just like that fr.
*you started crawling at 5 months and  walking at 7 months. Rio noticed you were showing VERY clear signs of autism, but when you got tested, it came back negative. And you flabbergasted everyone. The only delay was your speech really.
*but since you had a speech delay, you stuttered… a lot.
*You also had nicknames for everyone, like at some point at time you saw somebody and remembered them as that. Like for Jeff, you call him Uncle blue, because you almost always say him in his police uniform. You also call Rio, Tia Rio, or Aunty Rio, but sometimes you call her kitty. Because on halloween she dressed up as a cat, so you call her kitty at times.
*And when you were learning how to say you cousins' names, you always addressed them as, ‘MiMi’, and ‘MyMy’ or’ lolo’. and since you were a mean little thing, you called Miles, ‘Millimeters’, or ‘ kilometers’, or just ‘meters’
* the amount of times you bit him, and puked on him was outrageous.
*when Aaron has finally let the reality set in of having a child, he went ham. That bank account was being spended. You had a better wardrobe than him.
*you, Miles, and Milo, were completely spoiled. When everyone found out you and the twins were excited, they bought nearly the whole damn store.
*Aaron had noticed you had a weird obsession with Stitch. You also had an obsession with transformers, (which was Miles' fault,) and you LOVED monster high.   You made Aaron watch and rewatch all movies you could find with you. And then you would quiz him at the end.
You: now who’s the wolf again?
Aaron: uhh… Lagoona
You: no you buffoon, it’s Clawdeen
*you were a little menace to society when you were toddler all the way up to 7. You and Milo were the bullies. But sometimes you’d choose to be nice, but sometimes you’d choose to wake up with violence.
Aaron: n/n, Milo, why did me and Rio get a call from the school that you two pushed a kid off the swings.
You:good question. Not even I know that information
Aaron: Milo
Milo: see what happened was-
*but you would say the most out of pocket, disrespectful shit EVER. you had no filter whatsoever.
You:....
Random adult: what?
You: …I don’t like your hair
Aaron: Y/N!!
You: but daddy it's ugly. It looks like there's grapes in her hair
*you never really talked to no one, you were really quiet. You didn't speak unless spoken to in public, but when you're at home, you're a completely different person, also a smart mouth.
*at times you can have a short temper. And my oh MY can you hold a grudge.
* you, Miles, and Milo were ride or died fr. you three were inseparable, you guys were like siblings fr. when you guys were together, all hell would break loose.
Aaron: Why is there a naked  melted barbie doll in my microwave? And who put an optimus prime figure in the dishwasher? You:oh noo, we have a ghost on the loose
Miles: someone call ghostbusters
*Since your mom was never in the picture, somehow, your two Aunt’s and one uncle came all the way down from Jamaica, Just to meet you. They visit occasionally, like twice or three times a year. And sometimes 5 times a year.
* They and Aaron have a good relationship. Rio likes them. But your mom. Literally disappeared without a trace, she got up outta there. But then magically she appeared when you were 8, then her and Aaron started fighting for custody.
*You HATED, your mom. You were really salty when she came back acting like she was there the whole time.
*And you hated even more when she disrespected your dad, and your cousins. That was the day you nearly catched a case.
*when you were 13 you had a major growth spurt, you were even taller than miles. ( HA Stupid bi- ) but only just by 1 inch. 5'6 to be exact 😌. And you were taller then all em bitches 😏😌…
*.... But it didn’t last long… when the twins hit 14 them nigga were all of a sudden taller than you.
Miles: HA SHORTY
Milo: Sup short
You: hop off nigga’s😒
*(extra: Aaron: So you're telling me, every baby smells this good when they come out.
Rio: yup
Aaron: ???
Aaron grabbed Milo and sniffed him. Then he grabbed miles and took a quick sniff.
Jeff: Aaron put my children down.)
.................
honestly... had this bitch in my drafts for a whole. So I just decided to finish it.

RODEO
genre: fluff, first meeting
format: bullet points/flash fiction(?)
pairing: miles (1610) x reader
summary: you encounter miles for the first time after a rodeo.
Tumblr media
Sweat collects around your hairline underneath your wide-brimmed hat as you watch horses and bulls alike kick up dust around them.
Your voice risks going hoarse on account of all the cheering you and a friend do for your cousin once it's their turn to give chase.
After the rodeo, you spot your aunt having a lively chat with a tall, sturdy man that you later learn is Jefferson Davis Morales: a police officer from Brooklyn visiting family for the summer.
You groan the moment the woman makes eye contact with you, knowing she's about to wave you over.
The conversation is cordial; you shake hands and tell Mr. Morales a few white lies about how your academic life is going, and he goes on about how he has a son your age that they "had to practically drag down here" to attend.
"Miles–where'd that boy scurry off to? Miles!"
"I'm right here, dad."
A lanky boy with a deep russet-brown complexion materializes beside his father. He looks about as enthusiastic to be a part of this conversation as you are, shifting uncomfortably in leather boots that look new.
"Since we're in the area for a couple weeks, you might as well make a new friend, don't you think?"
Miles' eyes settle on you, wide and shiny like a deer in headlights. Each time your eyes meet, his gaze flickers down to his boots or some other part of your face. You would later find out that his hundred-yard stare just came with the territory and that he wasn't actually terrified of you.
"Oh, Y/N, Jeff was just tellin' me about how Miles is the artsy type like you are. Why don't y'all run along and get to know each other?"
Miles give you a tight, apologetic smile, and you give him a shrug.
"Wanna grab a bite to eat?" He asks. "Sure, if you want."
The two of you enter an awkward conversation over hot dogs, slowly realizing that your DIY projects and paintings were definitely not the same 'artsy' as his quick sketches and graffiti.
"So, like, what are you planning on majoring in?"
"Physics, probably. You?"
"Nursing. What's drawing you to physics? I don't hear that one a lot."
Miles' face lights up as he explains the ins and outs of Princeton's "cutting-edge" science program, and something about electrons that you won't even attempt to understand. He stops himself when he notices the smile playing on your face.
"...Sorry. You probably don't wanna hear all of that," he laughs nervously, tugging at the collar of his tassled shirt. You chuckle.
"I won't lie, none of that was really comprehensible to me, but you looked cute explainin' it."
Miles looks a little like his father when he smiles. Part of you wants to poke the dimples that appear in his cheeks.
The day ends with you exchanging phone numbers. Apprehension settles on Miles' features as he returns your phone to you.
"We'll only be here for like, two weeks, though."
"You'd better make sure to call me, then," you say with a wink.

10:36 A.M. Aaron Davis's Funeral - Miles' POV __________________________________________________
"Thank you for coming." Miles watched as his mom quietly whispered her thanks to the numerous family members approaching them with their kind words and back pats. He forced a smile as a woman he didn't even know cupped his face in her hands, her condolences barely audible over the loud murmurs of the rest of the funeral crowd. The cold Brooklyn breeze sent shivers down his spine, his thin suit coat doing little to prevent the goosebumps from rapidly spreading across his skin.
It was a gloomy day, dark clouds on the horizon blocking the sun, the inevitable chance of pouring rainfall growing closer and closer as the wind pushed the overcast towards the funeral service. It had been exactly one week and two days since his Uncle Aaron's sudden death. The cops, well Miles' dad Jeff, had done a good job covering up his uncle's involvement in the collider sequence that generated the tens of tiny earthquakes, shaking New York to its core and leading to thousands worth of property damage. It was as if the Prowler had never existed. They said that his uncle died during one of the earthquakes, trapped under the rubble while trying to help evacuate a neighborhood but Miles knew better.
He knew the truth. He knew that his uncle wasn't a good guy. He knew that he'd been working with Kingpin. He knew about the Sinister Six. But worse than all the rest, he knew that it was his fault his uncle was dead. Because if he hadn't been bit by that damn spider, Aaron Davis would still be alive.
"Dear friends and family, we gather here today in grief and love to remember the life of Aaron Davis and to support one another during this difficult time. As we come together, let us take a moment to offer a prayer of comfort, healing, and strength..."
It was starting. Miles quickly took a seat next to his mom who was silently dabbing the corner of her eye with a small, white napkin. She put her hand on top of Miles' squeezing gently and shooting him a slight smile before they both turned their heads to look back over at his father, who was approaching the podium to give his farewell speech. Miles watched as his father pulled out what looked like a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket, looked at it for a moment, and then shoved it back in with a sigh. He placed his hands on both sides of the microphone, eliciting a small, high-pitched screech, evoking subtle winces among the crowd.
His dad cleared his throat, and began to speak, his voice wavering slightly with every change in tone. It was hard for him, probably harder than it was for Miles. Miles couldn't help but feel a little proud of his dad for being able to stand up there and talk about the man that they'd lost, because he knew that if he himself tried to go up there, he'd break down and never be able to build himself back up again.
"Aaron was my baby brother. But more than that, he was my best friend." His dad chuckled slightly, memories flooding his mind as he continued, "I remember when we were young, how the two of us would go out causing trouble like we were invincible. Like nothing could break us..."
As Miles's focus slowly wavered, he felt his father's voice becoming more and more muffled. Miles' mind was overwhelmed by unwelcome thoughts, flooding his senses and making his swallowing sharper and his eyes heavier. If I hadn't been bit...would he still be here today? He closed his eyes quickly, to prevent himself from breaking down right there, swallowing back his tears before opening them again and looking back at his father. If I hadn't been followed...would he have survived?
If I'd shook him off my path that day, he would've never realized that I was going to Aunt May's house. And he wouldn't have caught me. And I wouldn't have taken my mask off. And he wouldn't have been shot.
Miles heard clapping and opened his eyes again, forcing a smile onto his face and clapping along with everyone else while his dad sat down in the seat next to him. Another person went up to the stand, someone Miles didn't know. As the person began to talk, Miles felt his mind wandering again, back to those horrible, horrible thoughts. But there was a hint of truth behind them, wasn't there? If I hadn't-
He felt a tingling sensation in his body, the hairs on his arms standing up and a weird, almost nauseating feeling entering the front of his forehead. His spider-sense. It was detecting something.
He subtly turned his head to the side, where the sense was telling him to look. His eyes scanned over his surroundings, taking in the faces of all the people there, most of whom he'd never met before. Many of them were relatives on his dad's side, people who he didn't meet often because of his dad's messy relationship with his parents. He'd never told Miles why exactly he never got to meet his grandparents, but Miles knew not to ask. Family issues were difficult.
His eyes landed on a pair of people, one larger than the other. They were both covered from head to toe in funeral attire, the larger one wearing a black suit and the smaller one, probably a young girl, wearing a simple black dress. They looked just like everyone else, except for the fact that they were wearing face-masks to cover their faces, something you didn't often see at a funeral. It was as if they were trying to hide something.
Miles continued to stare at the pair, gears turning in his brain as he tried to see if he could recognize them. Despite not being able to see their expressions, they looked solemn. His spider-sense began to die down and he decided it must've been a fluke, but even then he couldn't help but continue to gaze at them. Especially at the girl. He was mesmerized. He couldn't even see her face, but he felt some kind of weird connection. Like he knew her from somewhere. Or she knew him.
Suddenly, her eyes darted towards him. He immediately looked away, feeling his face turn hot as he pursed his lips together, looking down and fidgeting with his fingers. His spider-sense went off like crazy and he could feel her hard stare boring into his skull, those entrancing eyes glaring right at him. He stayed like that for a few minutes, barely even breathing as he waited for her to look away. When she did, he looked back more subtly this time, and then looked back at the stand with a newfound sense of focus.
"Aaron Davis was a good man who died a hero's death. May his soul Rest In Peace for all eternity..."
Another person who must've been close to Miles' uncle was talking, preaching about how perfect he was. Miles couldn't help but wonder...if only they knew. His uncle was a hero, but not for the reasons everyone else believed. He'd saved Miles. But Miles couldn't save him.
Eventually, after all the speeches finished, Miles stood up and walked with the crowd toward where his uncle's coffin would be buried. Everyone watched intently as the coffin was lowered into the ground and everyone stayed silent while they threw in their white roses and other flowers. Some were crying, some were sniffling, but Miles stayed quiet. He couldn't break down yet. Not here. Not in front of everyone.
Once everyone else was finished, Miles approached the coffin silently, a single sunflower in his hand. He raised his hand out toward the coffin, and let the sunflower fall down, catching on the wind and slowly drifting onto the top of the coffin. "Goodbye, Unc." He whispered, just loud enough for nobody else but him to hear. He felt red hot tears filling up his eyes as he stepped back from the grave. "I'll miss you."

8 days earlier, 17 hours after Aaron Davis's death Your house - your POV __________________________________________________
"Hey kiddo."
You looked up as your father walked into your room, sitting down on the bed and watching you as you continued working on your newest project. Hover-shoes. They looked like normal shoes, but the soles were replaced with a strong magnet which would push you off the floor and help you hover for a little more than a few minutes. They would be useful if you ever needed to sneak around without making noise, because they'd prevent you from touching the ground.
You placed the shoe sole you'd been manipulating down and looked over at your father, eyebrow raised. He rarely delivered good news like this, so something must've happened.
"Hey? What's up?" You asked, slightly nervous as you watched him put his hand on the back of his neck before looking away from you. The guilty look on his face told you something was definitely wrong. You quieted your voice to a whisper before leaning toward him slightly. "Don't tell me...we've been compromised?" You asked, eyes wide with fear as your mind immediately went to the worst.
You and your father weren't the average duo. Actually, you were a lot more than average. Murder, espionage and robbery weren't father-daughter dates that were revered in modern society. But it was how you survived. It was really all you knew. You were just a little kid when you discovered what your father really did for a job, murdering and stealing for unknown bosses, a mercenary of some sorts. But unlike a normal child, you were excited. You weren't scared of your father's job, in fact, you wanted to be a part of it.
Your genius intellect might have had a hand in that reaction, considering you were never normal to begin with. Always the top of your class, always having to wait for the others to catch up, life was phenomenally boring for someone like you, so a bit of excitement never hurt. Your father's job also helped you build connections, connections with people most would be scared of. Except these connections did more for you than any fancy private school ever could. Learning from the best, although the public would consider them the worst. Being taught how to accomplish impossible feats. A life fit for a little Einstein.
"No, nothing like that" your father said quickly, waving off your fear that you'd been caught. The constant meetings between criminals in the apartment you stayed in would probably raise suspicion eventually, but for now the two of you were in the clear.
You leaned back in your chair, arms folded over your chest as you tilted your head at him. "Then what?" your breathing slowed down as your fright subsided, heart-beat back to a regular pace. Being a genius didn't prevent the occasional panic attack, although occasional could be considered an understatement. They happened often and randomly. You were never 100% safe when the chance of losing your ability to move and breathe was always on the corner. It was one of the reasons your father was so against you being out in the field. But you wanted to be there anyways, because after all, where's the fun in staying to the side?
"It's about...Aaron."
Your eyes widened as you leaned forward again, hands clasping in your lap. "What happened?" You asked quietly, dreading the response you'd receive. Aaron Davis was the Prowler. A revered member of the Sinister Six cartel. The mercenary of all mercenaries. Your role model. Your dad's best friend. Nothing could happen to your idol, the man who ate dinner at your table just three days ago. Nothing.
"He's dead."
You swallowed that sharp pain in your stomach back, blinking away the arrival of a tear in your eye. "What happened?" You repeated, voice a little bit harsher, tone a little bit colder.
"We're not sure. He was killed during his hunt for that kid. The new Spider-man." Your expression hardened. "Spider-man?"
Your father nodded solemnly. "We're trying to figure out who this kid is. The rest of the cartel wants him too. Aaron...we think he killed Aaron. Our cameras show him fleeing the crime scene."
You nodded back, folding your arms over you chest as you leaned back in your chair for a second time. You tilted your head so the back of it hit the top of your chair, before rolling it to the side, looking back at the pair of shoes you'd been working on. "So what's the plan then?
Your father stood up, putting his hands in his pockets before he approached you. "Before we go over the plan, I have something that might cheer you up, kid." You looked up at him, a little surprised. A present of some sort? Unlikely. Why would he bring it up after dropping something so heavy on you?
You stood up and followed him out, arriving in the living room where a medium-sized box sat on the couch. He leaned down and gently lifted it before handing it over to you. "Open it." he said with a nod.
You scrutinized his expression, trying to guess what might be in the box before you opened it. "What's this, then?"
"Just open it, (reader's name)."
You chuckled softly before removing the top of the box, peering inside curiously. A soft gasp escaped your lips, eyes watering at the sight of the present. Removing the top layer of tissue, you pulled out a mask.
The Prowler mask.
"He-he-did he-?"
"He left a voice message saying it was for you." Your father forced a smile at your expression. He was trying to support you, but he was obviously frightened at the idea of his daughter growing up so fast. Of his little girl turning into him.
"Thank you." you whispered, blinking back your tears. This gesture was almost too much. Your idol wanted you to carry on his legacy. It was almost poetic in a sense.
Your father nodded, putting his hand on your shoulder in a comforting way. "Lets talk about this plan, shall we?"

7:50 A.M. - Monday Two days after the funeral - Miles POV
____________________________________________________________
"Mami, I'm gonna be late for school!" Miles said quickly, dodging another one of his mom's sloppy kisses before walking out the door. "Hey, un momento más! Dame un kiss first!" Miles groaned as his mom grabbed his face and placed another kiss on his cheek, but he couldn't help but smile at the gesture. She handed him his bag before walking back inside.
Miles was already late to school. He had 5 minutes until class started and it took 10 minutes for him to walk there. There was no way he'd be able to make it in time, unless...
ten minutes later
Miles arrived on top of the school building, panting slightly as he struggled to pull his school uniform over his head after three minutes of intense web-swinging. Swinging was almost as tiring as running, but Miles would never complain about how it felt to swing through the city as Spider-man. The adrenaline pumping through his veins, the exhilarating feeling of the cold wind slamming against the skin of his suit, speeding past cars and trucks, threading the needle between buildings and alleyways.
He was still going to be late, he realized as he tried to fix his tie while he ran through the hallways. He skid past the door he was supposed to enter and tripped, falling onto his face before he recovered and swung the door open, right as the bell rang.
The entirety of the class turned to look at him, the silence so loud you could hear it as he walked inside, beads of sweat still wetting his eyebrows. "Nice of you to join us, Mr. Morales." His physics teacher said with an eye roll, her voice barely drowning out the sound of his bright red Jordans squeaking across the floor while he attempted to sit down. "Nice of you to wait for me" he replied with a sheepish grin, setting his backpack down.
His teacher gave him a fake smile before gesturing for him to stand up. "Actually, I'm going to have you sit next to someone else for a little while." she said, eyeing the boy Miles had sat down next to. Ganke Lee shot her a sly grin back before subtly giving Miles a high-five under the seat.
"Back corner of the room. Quick, don't keep us waiting." Miles looked back at the area she was pointing at and shuffled toward the empty seat. He barely gave his new partner a glance before he sat down. He looked over at the person he'd have to share a table with and he let out an audible gasp.
Those eyes...
____________________________________________________________
Your POV
____________________________________________________________
You glanced over at him, eyes narrowing as you began to recognize him, scanning over his figure. An amused grin spread across your face as you watched him shut his mouth and turn away, obviously embarrassed at how loud he'd just been. You shook your head gently, a soft chuckle escaping your lips.
"Everyone pull out your textbooks and turn to page 76. Today we'll be learning about-"
Despite the teacher's ongoing lecture, you could feel his eyes on you, unmoving from your face. You bit the inside of your cheek, debating with yourself on whether or not you should ignore him. You decided to confront him, but before you could say anything-
"Hey. What's your name?"
You looked over at him, tucking a strand/lock of hair behind your ear as you did so.
"Y/N. You?" You tried your best to seem dry. You weren't here to make friends, but you couldn't help but shoot a smile at the sweet-looking boy next to you. He returned it, resting his face in his palm and leaning against the table as he watched you.
"I'm Mil-" his voice cracked slightly and he ducked his head in embarrassment, looking away. You stifled a laugh, covering your mouth with the back of your hand as you nodded at him. His face was a little flushed when he looked back at you. "Miles. Miles Morales."

I'll love you like a dog (you'll betray me like a man)
A/N: Not proofread. Rushed this before the gym tbh. Hope y'all guys enjoy. AO3 link
"Why do you need to punish yourself this much?"
Most houses and apartments on Earth-42 rest in darkness, so you glance down the street, eyes straining at the neon of rooftops. It's pouring. Miguel didn't had the chance to put up a fight when you are being this cruel.
The pressure is unbearable, his shoulders tense. You watched him send Gwen back her universe despite the probability of her having to confront homelessness there. You watched Miguel try to hurt a kid, and now you're watching as he sets teams to hunt Miles.
"I need to fix this," he tells you, staring and fists clenched. His voice's flat. It's the same answer everytime. You're used to it.
And you know why, of course. It's the reason why every Spider-Man must suffer.
It's the tenderness of grief. Tender like a bruise.
Miguel suffers and weeps. It's sickening to watch how much pain can make you aggressive.
You're more than aware you're a bad person. Never a hero, never sure why you were accepted among them.
(The truth about the multiverse is that they don't know it enough. The canon theory could be right. It could be wrong. They will never know in their lifetime.
It's cruel and merciless and they will never understand it fully.
You're never fast enough to save a person. You are fast enough to watch them die.
Grief comes in waves. Miguel will never see his daughter grow up.)
"Years dedicated to this job," you lament, voice clear through rain, "It all comes down to letting people die."
In another life, we bump on each other at the grocery store. There, we are meant to a happy ending.
Never this one. Here, Miguel looks at you with dread despite all else.
He stiffens further. And you're on his side, he knows it, because you will always be, loyalty outweighting what you know is wrong.
"I don't need your approval," he says. Miguel looks at you strange, eyes fiery red as if glowing with contained rage.
You inch closer to him. Miguel keeps dooming himself. It always going to end up like this.
"I'm just saying," you start, and there's something horrible inside you, "there's no coming back after this."
It's the awareness that you will let Miguel ruin you. Besides that, you would dissect him to know what's happening in his brain, gut him like a fish.
Grief comes in waves. It outweights reason, born from love. Gabriella's laughter is so loud in his head, right now. Not one day passed that he didn't want to take the his heart out of the chest.
You enable the worst in each other. It's true, you had watched him bite off the neck of a person, blood dripping from his fangs. He had watched you punch someone until your own knuckles scratched open.
"I know," Miguel snarls. Life brimming with sorrow. "But you will be on my side."
Jeff Davis has been dead since the beginning. This can go only one way.
Yet, what were Miles supposed to do? Stay still and watch his father die?
And what were you supposed to do? You'd chose Miguel over anybody else. You were never a good person.
Miguel is, though. Despite everything else, he is trying to do what he finds right. Despite the bitterness, the grief.
Somewhere else, I try harder to stop you. Here, I don't try at all. Here, I will meet you halfway.
It rains. It had been raining. The truth is that you are better a weapon than a person. Never letting go of violence like a mother's hand.
"Always," you say.
"And you understand why," he croaks out, solemnly. Taking a shuddering breath.
You purse your lips. "I do."
Loving Miguel had made you worse. "You will regret this," he waves, leaning closer.
You cannot save. You can only try. In another universe, we grew up together. The grief doesn't end but so does the love.
"Maybe." You smile to him, it's not a happy sight. He doesn't falter. "But you can do anything and I won't leave you."
Miguel is making the wrong decision. It's okay, good people also make bad things.
You stand in front of Miguel, and he loves you too. That's why he allows you to be here. "Just don't go where I can't follow."
Everything's sacrificial– you'll make Miguel's massacre holy until there's nothing else to sacrifice.

Teen Wolf and Lack of Character Development - Scott McCall
Incoming Rant: Re-watching the first season of TW I have realised why I never felt that Scott was The Hero of the story even if the writers did not stop hammering the idea that he was pure and perfect and always right. He never sacrifices himself. This is a classic of fiction, the hero will always be the one who makes the greatest sacrifices for the common good and for those they love, renouncing happiness, normality and even their own life.
But Scott never does that. Even in the first season this is very clear. The first few episodes emphasise that playing lacrosse and dating Allison are things he wants, but are dangerous to himself and those around him. The narratively logical thing would be that, after a period of selfish refusal, he would realise that the right thing to do is to give up what he loves until he has better control of himself and his new powers, sacrificing his temporary happiness for the good of others.
Instead, the narrative rewards Scott with control gained through Deux Ex Machina and not hard work, he gets to date Allison and becomes a Lacrosse star without sacrifices and therefore doesn't grow or evolve at all. This keeps up for all 6 seasons. Meanwhile, everyone else around him is constantly sacrificing their safety, sanity and even life for the common good.  And ten years later in the movie nothing has changed. Scott’s still not the one performing the sacrifice, he's still not the hero yet. He gives nothing, but the narrative rewards him with true love. Meanwhile Derek gives his own life to save those he loves he is The Hero.
So. Yes. To all of this.
I have made a countless number of posts about Scott’s development. Specifically, his lack of development. The writers had every opportunity to make him a decent character -- and Posey could have performed it and done everything at least moderately well -- but instead, they caved into Jeff Davis’ whims.
There were other writers in the room who should have held Jeff accountable and written Scott as a proper hero: a hero who sacrifices his own selfish wants for the greater good.
They do not have the right to tell us not to like characters such as Stiles or Derek more because they were the ones who wrote those characters using the hero’s journey narrative that they very easily could have written for Scott...but they didn’t. When the creator of Teen Wolf speaks up against those fans, he has no one to blame but himself and the other writers, and to say anything to the contrary just makes him look like a hypocrite.
You cannot expect your audience to believe your main character is a hero when you do not give them faults to overcome and make them a better person.
They wrote Scott as never taking consequences for his own actions -- instead, they had everyone else suffer the consequences of his actions and had them clean up his mess and deal with the repercussions. (not going into detail here because I have already done so on many other posts)
But when you show characters such as Stiles and Derek dealing with complex emotional and physical traumas and then doing things to try and improve themselves, while also dealing with their own mistakes and growing from them...but then don’t hold your main character to the same standard, how can you be surprised when no one relates to them? The accountability for Scott’s lack of accountability can be traced right back to the writers’ room.
I genuinely could have liked Scott. In fact, when he was being sweet and helping his mom, I loved him! He had the potential to be a fantastic main character...but the writer’s neglected their responsibility as writers.
To put it simply: the writers suck.
The only reason the show lasted was because they had good cinematography, and they brought on some experienced older actors into the cast, and they had two natural talents on screen: Dylan O’Brien and Tyler Hoechlin.
That’s it.

I don’t want to spoil anything so I’m just going to say that the actors are kings and even kissed on a stage at an event irl yuuup

3, 12, 18, and 19 for teen wolf (no worries if you want to pass on any of them)?
3. screenshot or description of the worst take you’ve seen on tumblr
oh see now this question is impossible because teen wolf fandom is capable of producing bad takes that other fandoms can only dream of. "scott helping align a dog's broken leg in his capacity as an assistant vet tech is animal abuse." "stalia is problematic because malia is 45 in coyote years." "scott violated/raped derek" (re: a scene in which scott is forced under duress to make derek bite gerard, which derek only objected to because he did not know about scott's secret plan). "stiles is the only one who ever respected derek." "scott has been narrating the entire show to make himself look better." "deaton is shady and evil." "scott abused jackson" (a real thing someone sent to my inbox). even jeff davis got in on it with "kira's story didn't have anything left to explore." however despite stiff competition i do think we have to give this award to "scott is a werewolf colonizer" because there is something so special about accusing a mexican boy of colonizing the culture of white people who are living in california. and also because it is so so funny to say.
12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them
hm. i don't know if i like any characters who are unpopular within the fandom circles i travel in. like certainly scott is unpopular with the fandom at large, we know this, but i don't travel in those circles so. idk. i guess i think victoria argent is interesting? imo after allison she's the most compelling argent. i think killing yourself rather than becoming a werewolf shows a kind of commitment to one's ideology that automatically makes a character interesting. i don't know what the popular opinion on victoria argent is but that's my take.
18. it’s absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on…
see again i could point to fandom at large for this but frankly fandom at large sleeps on anything that isn't sterek or steter so i could say anything and it would be true. so my actual answer is that i think more people should ship theo/mason. i get why sceo is popular but i don't know why thiam is so big when...thason? meo? (personally i am voting for meo as a ship name because it looks like meow. however i am willing to be overruled.)...is right there. one of my actual most unpopular opinions is idgaf about morey because i couldn't care less about corey. i don't even know that boy's last name. he's nothing to me. but theo/mason??? both of them experimented on by the dread doctors, one of them 'evil' and the other 'good' (too 'good' to be traumatized, if you ask jeff davis, which is why you should never ask jeff davis), one of them so compassionate and caring, the other callous and lacking empathy, on opposite sides of the fight, yet both bound by the same trauma, and both deep inside wanting to help? look i'm not a big m/m shipper so i'm not gonna write the fic but SOMEONE should write the fic. is what i'm saying.
19. you’re mad/ashamed/horrified you actually kind of like…
disclaimer i am not ashamed of liking anything because, to paraphrase the great cordelia chase, shame is not something to be proud of. however i am a little mad that stiles and derek genuinely have such a fun relationship. i do actually wish they had more scenes together and i would happily watch an entire episode that was just the two of them on a buddy cop roadtrip and if people wrote more platonic fic of them with their canon personalities being forced into Situations together then i Would read it. i don't ship them because it's not my cup of tea shipping-wise and i think fanon sterek is nothing like canon sterek and is deeply uninteresting but in the year 2024 i must confess that canon stiles & derek did make some points.

Okay storyline-wise the Teen Wolf movie wasn’t good. Too many characters, too much story to cover in two hours. Lots of details just slipped through the cracks and it was incredibly hard to follow.
But also, can we talk about the actual quality? Because it was TERRIBLE. Sound was horrible. Couldn’t hear half the dialogue. It kept getting loud and then quiet and then loud again. The cuts and transitions were awful. The editing was truly cringe-worthy. The music/sound effects were absolutely so weird and also cringe-worthy. I feel like I just watched one of those fan-made movies but with the actual cast of the show. I mean seriously, how low was the budget? Because the special effects and backgrounds were so incredibly fake they looked like an eighth grade YouTuber did them.
I’m not even gonna get started on dialogue, costumes, and plot holes… I’m choosing to pretend this movie never happened. Jeff Davis could have done so much better. And I would’ve preferred he never did this at all.

TEEN WOLF SPOILERS !
jeff davis truly has got to be the most spiteful person out there to make this movie. teen wolf was my absolute favorite show as a teen. i remember being obsessed with it for like three years, at least. i’m glad i’m seeing all the fans of the show hate on the movie because it’s what it deserves.
the fact that jeff davis refuses to acknowledge that scott mccall was never the star of the show is plain stupid. stiles was the star from the pilot to the final episode. he embodied the show, gave it life. to this day, he’s still one of my favorite fictional characters of all time. the show would have been nothing without stiles. void stiles was one of the biggest highlights of the show (as it should). dylan o’brien shined every second on the screen in his role.
what’s even more wild to me is that stiles and lydia, one of if not the most popular pairing from the show, got broken up over something so incredibly stupid and irrelevant that it makes me question if i was even watching the teen wolf movie. stiles and lydia who had a six-season slowburn and were the fan-favorite ship from the very first season (at least that’s how it felt to me) and it got ruined just like that. i just don’t get it. like it was so unnecessary that it’s just funny to me.
and then there’s the also very unnecessary death of derek hale. my beloved. derek who probably went through the most in the show (if i remember correctly anyway, i haven’t watched it in a couple years). like this man had to kill his first love, his family died in a fire, he was sa’d by kate, and now they let him burn to death in front of his son??? respectfully, what???? that is beyond fucked up. i only liked the moment where he spoke about stiles’s jeep. i’m not really a sterek shipper myself but i do get why fans like them.
also the weird thing is — for the longest time i was bummed that i didn’t get my scallison endgame, and now that i did get it, i just… i don’t know. it’s not the same? it certainly wasn’t necessary for me anymore. her death was sad as fuck but to be honest i didn’t need her back.
can’t believe i’m only realizing it now, but i’ve grown to prefer kira over allison. allison used to be my favorite girl on the show for some reason but she definitely isn’t anymore. and the fact that arden cho was offered half of what the white actresses would be receiving for the movie?? what the fuck??? that’s ridiculous. i’m glad she turned the offer down because she deserves better than to be involved in this shitshow anyways. can’t believe all the other actors went through with the film while being aware of that. most of them are jobless anyways sooo
i feel like the movie could have worked if everyone had returned with a solid storyline (honestly everything would have been better than this, the majority of fanfic writers could come up with a better script than this). and when i say everyone i mean everyone. stiles, kira, isaac, you name them. but in all honesty? we didn’t need a movie. even though i feel like the show didn’t end on a high note (season 6 was shit if you ask me) i thought the ending was fine.
the show itself wasn’t fantastic writing or acting (it definitely felt better at the time but i was younger so yk) but its storylines were enjoyable enough, i liked the script and most of the characters and their dynamics were fun. it was a different time with all the supernatural-ish shows and stuff and whatever but i did love it for a long time. it’s sad to know they went in this direction with the movie but my expectations were very low anyways so i kind of saw it coming. i’m gonna attempt a rewatch of the show soon to see whether it was as i remembered it.
these were my thoughts, might add more later!
