It took like, 2 months. I came back from holiday, started this and couldn't finish until nowadays.

baptism of fire, chapter 2: in the ribbon, outside of brokilon
baptism of fire, chapter 7: streams north of the jaruga

"Dandelion knew all the kings, princes, lords and feudal lords from Jaruga to the Dragon Mountains."
See, this is why him later being hired as a spy makes sense, even though he won't obey orders and has never heard of descretion. Dandelion makes it his business to know everyone's business even when he's not being paid, so imagine what he'll find out if he is.

Ardal aep Dahy had at his disposal a huge group of the “East” army, even if don't take into count the countless number of spies who constantly, in one way or another, tried to interfere with the Lyrians and Rivians on the way to liberating their lands from the blacks. Even with such an army, the general was doomed to defeat at the hands of the golden-haired queen, whose name struck fear into all Nilfgaardians for many years, and her small army.
The Battle of the Jaruga Bridge gave Geralt his famous nickname. Geralt of Rivia. Having shown valor, the motivation of which was actually Ciri, Gwynbleidd also received the title of knight. But neither fame nor honor forced him to hesitate, sending him on a further search for his daughter along with his gang in the person of Dandelion, Regis, Milva and Cahir.

Omg omg omg Ada!! 1) Happy Beltane! 2) I got super intrigued by that thing you said in your post where Calanthe sat on a random man's lap. Mind elaborating?
Hiii!! Thank you! Happy Beltane to you too haha!
Oh that was an au where Calanthe rather than jump to her death jumped into Jaruga and the river carried her to Temeria. She survived, but lost her memories (I know I know amnesia aus are not very creative haha).
Pavetta and Ciri ran away to Temeria from the Nilfgaardians and met her there. And it turned out that without all of her experiences and wisdom, Calanthe, personality wise was very much like Corbett, her grandfather who nearly drove Cintra to ruin.
She was a wild party animal, a socialite, slowly draining Foltest's treasury, and remembering neither Pavetta, nor Ciri. And that was how Pavetta found her. Wine drunk on a random temerian noble's lap! Haha
