I am embarking on yet another bicycle adventure as I continue celebrating my “major milestone” birthday year. Hey, I figure that I’m only young once and might as well do these things while I’m able to. My ever-suffering spouse tolerates these adventures with a smile. The plan is to cycle from Livingstone, Zambia (north side of Victoria Falls) thru Zambia, Botswana, and Namibia to Cape Town, South Africa. The total distance is approximately 2000 miles with 53,000 ft of elevation gain. There are 25 days of riding with 5 rest days. I’m going with a Toronto-based commercial bike tour company called TDA Global Cycling. They specialize in epic adventure rides and are the company that lead my rides across India a few years ago and South America in October 2022. I’m riding only the last third of the tour but many others in the group started in January in Cairo and have already pedaled 4000 miles. This tour is classified as a “fully supported” ride which means they plan the routes, carry all my luggage, prepare 3 meals a day, and provide support on the roads. We will be camping the entire time. I hope those lions are not hungry. I’ve brought along my heavy steel Surly gravel bike- it’s basic and easy to fix when the nearest bike shop could be hundreds of miles away. Approximately 25% of the route will not be paved- I’m hoping that it’s gravel and not sand but the pictures I’ve seen of Namibia show endless sand dunes 😬.

As of my last update in January 2022, I am unable to provide real-time information. However, if you're curious about the iOS 18 beta, it's most likely the next major update of Apple's operating system for the iPhone and iPad. Apple often makes beta versions of their software available to developers and, on occasion, the general public in order to test new features and provide feedback prior to the official release.
Beta versions frequently contain new features, enhancements to existing ones, and bug fixes. However, it is important to know that beta software might be unstable and contain problems, thus it is normally recommended that you install it on non-critical devices or back up your data before installation.
If the iOS 18 beta is available, you can usually find out on Apple's website or through the Apple Developer program. Keep a watch out for Apple announcements on beta releases and how to participate if you want to test out the new features and provide feedback.

Srinivasa mangapuram temple history
Srinivasa mangapuram temple history
Tumblr media
Srinivasa Mangapuram is a small village located near Tirupati in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, India. The village is renowned for its temple dedicated to Lord Kalyana Venkateswara, another form of Lord Venkateswara, the presiding deity of the famous Tirumala Venkateswara Temple.
history of the Srinivasa Mangapuram Temple:
Legend and Origin:
The temple has a rich legend associated with it. According to popular belief, Lord Venkateswara stayed here for some time after his marriage to Goddess Padmavathi. Hence, the deity is known as Kalyana Venkateswara, symbolizing the divine marriage.
Construction:
Tumblr media
The temple is believed to have been constructed during the 12th century by a Chola king. Over the centuries, various dynasties and rulers have made contributions to the temple's architecture and maintenance.
Significance:
Srinivasa Mangapuram Temple is considered highly significant for newlyweds and married couples seeking the blessings of Lord Kalyana Venkateswara for a happy and prosperous marital life. Devotees visit this temple to perform special pujas and seek the divine couple's blessings.
Architecture:
The temple features Dravidian style of architecture, common in South Indian temples. It has a main sanctum sanctorum (garbhagriha), a central hall (mandapa), and a tower (shikhara) above the main deity's shrine.
Tumblr media
Festivals:
The annual Brahmotsavam festival celebrated here is a major attraction. During this festival, various rituals and ceremonies are conducted, drawing devotees from different parts of the region.
Pilgrimage:
Pilgrims visiting Tirumala often include a visit to the Srinivasa Mangapuram Temple as part of their religious itinerary.
Temple Administration:
Like the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, the administration of the Srinivasa Mangapuram Temple also falls under the purview of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), an autonomous trust that oversees the management and operations of various temples in and around Tirupati.
It's important to note that the information provided here is based on general historical and cultural knowledge, and specific details may vary. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it is advisable to consult official temple records or local authorities.
Sri Kalyana Venkateswaraswami Temple Timings
As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, temple timings can change, and it's always best to verify the current schedule from official sources or local authorities. Typically, the temple timings for Sri Kalyana Venkateswaraswami Temple in Srinivasa Mangapuram are as follows:
Morning Timings:
The temple usually opens early in the morning, around 5:00 AM or 6:00 AM.
Morning rituals and poojas are performed during the early hours.
Afternoon Timings:
After the morning rituals, the temple may close for a few hours during the afternoon.
Evening Timings:
The temple reopens in the evening, around 4:00 PM or 5:00 PM.
Evening rituals, darshan, and poojas continue.
Closing Time:
The temple generally closes for the day by 8:00 PM or 9:00 PM.
Special Poojas and Festivals:
During special occasions, festivals, or Brahmotsavam, the temple may have extended hours, and specific events or poojas may take place at different times.
Keep in mind that these timings are indicative, and variations may occur. It's advisable to check with the temple administration or the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) for the most accurate and current information. Additionally, if you are planning a visit, it's a good idea to confirm the timings closer to your intended date, as changes may occur due to special events, festivals, or administrative decisions.

Ram Mandir Inauguration: Explore the Sacred Offerings to the Ram Mandir!
The date for the consecration of Lord Ram’s idol in Ayodhya has now drawn remarkably close. As the inauguration of the temple approaches, numerous items are being sent to Ayodhya from various places. So, lets explore ram mandir.
The date for the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya (January 22) has drawn very close.
Consequently, preparations are now being undertaken at a war-footing level, ensuring that all tasks are completed before the consecration of Lord Rama’s idol. This includes a shipment of 3,000 quintals of rice from Nanital and gifts from the in-laws’ side as well.
For the grand Ram Temple being constructed in Ayodhya, contributions are arriving not only from across the country but also from abroad. From Chhattisgarh, 3,000 quintals of rice are being sent as an offering for Lord Rama, while gifts including clothes, fruits, and dry fruits, along with 1100 decorated plates, are on their way from Janakpur in Nepal, symbolizing the in-laws’ side. Additionally, various states of India are also sending a plethora of items to Ayodhya. Let’s explore where these contributions are coming from and what is expected to arrive.
The consecration of the idol of Lord Rama will take place on January 22. Following this, a special offering will be presented to the deity, including rice from Chhattisgarh and dry fruits from Janakpur, symbolizing the offerings from the in-laws’ side.
A shipment of 3,000 quintals of rice from Chhattisgarh is set to arrive in Ayodhya. This will be the largest consignment of rice to reach Ayodhya and has been collected from various districts of Chhattisgarh.
From Janakpur in Nepal, Lord Rama’s in-laws will send clothes, fruits, and dry fruits to Ayodhya, arriving on January 5. Additionally, 1100 decorated plates will be part of the offerings.
From Nepal, along with jewelry, utensils, clothes, and sweets, a variety of items will also be arriving, including 51 types of sweets, yogurt, butter, and silver utensils.
A 21-kilogram bell made of eight metals will be transported to the court of Lord Rama from the Etah district of Uttar Pradesh. It is claimed to be the largest bell in the country, with a cost of 2.5 million rupees. Approximately 400 employees have collaborated in the crafting of this significant bell. A bell from Etah, Uttar Pradesh, en route to Ayodhya, has a width of 15 feet and an interior width of 5 feet. It weighs 2100 kilograms, and it took one year to craft.
A 108-foot-long incense stick from Vadodara, Gujarat, is being sent to Ayodhya for the consecration ceremony. It has been meticulously crafted, made from cow dung along with panchgavya and havan materials. The weight of this incense stick is 3500 kilograms.
The cost of this incense stick, making its way from Vadodara to Ayodhya, exceeds five lakh rupees. It took six months to prepare.
This incense stick, sent from Vadodara to Ayodhya, will be transported in a 110-foot-long chariot. Vihang Bharwad, the creator of the incense stick, mentioned that once ignited, it could burn continuously for about one and a half months.
