do you really think janestripe would have been endgame?

The showrunner ( Wendy Straker Hauser) said yesterday during interviews for the finale that she was a Janestripe fan and had the show had more time, she would’ve found a way to bring them back together

A few excerpts I could find: “ I'm a Pinstripe fan. I firmly believe that he met the love of his life when he was probably not expecting or ready to meet the love of his life, when he was a 20-something, Manhattan bachelor who had a lot of girls at his beck and call. And then there was Jane Sloan and he hadn't caught up yet to how lucky he was and how in love he was. By the time he did, it was too late. He had screwed up, and she needed to go off and rebuild herself.”

Are Jane and Pinstripe endgame somewhere in the future? I guess there's a world where I could. Certainly, if they never got together, I could see him thinking about her for the rest of his life, which breaks my heart. But I think he would be an excellent father and husband. And I don't think he would ever, ever cheat on her again. He stupidly covered up a lie. That was a mistake that he made, but I think he's a good guy. So I did want them to see each other again. And I also think we all wanted, when they did see each other again, for Jane to be in a really good place and to feel solid and stable and not broken-hearted and crushed, and to see him from a place of respect and love, but not of pain

I can’t find the exact excerpt where she said they’d get back together with more episodes but I think this makes it clear enough

Still my favorite on screen first kiss.

Bonus:

Honestly I kinda like the way the bold type is heading with suttard’s divorce and jane/ryan break up in the earlier season. This all makes it so much more realistic and although my heart aches for both of the ships it is a great way to address the fact that even though people love each other their relationship is just not meant to be

However if suttard is endgame I still would be head over heels about them but I don’t see how they could pull it off in the right way with only 4 episodes left

I really loved that episode. Sutton and Richard having conversations and making good choices cause they love each other. Jacquline and Richard’s friendship and cute little moments where they encourage each other making a reappearance. Jane wanting to be with Ryan, being unsure if she can trust him and Janestripe breaking up. While I hope it isnt permanent because I like Ryan and really hate the cheating storyline they gave him, it was a good move for Jane and her speech had me feeling all the emotions. Lastly something illegal and rash the girls do actually catching up to them. This time it was on Kat but I’m kinda glad she got fired, and, like Jaqueline, I’m excited to see what she does next.I hope she doesn’t get her job back. I though Jaqueline got hers back too soon this season and it makes cliffhangers seem pointless when they get resolved super quickly. This show has done it more than once and I really hope they dont this time.  Adena was super cute this episode taking pics for Sutton/Richard and dancing with Kat :). I’m also kinda excited to see Rj’s daughter being a female antagonist for the girls... they haven’t really had one before and its refreshing.

Y'all can keep roasting Ryan aka Pinstripe for what happened but I'm pissed at the writers. I hated Ryan in the first season, I thought he was an asshole, and then these motherfuckers made me like him and find him charming. They made me ship Jane and Ryan and root for him for so long just to have it end this way? Fuck that shit. I'm not about to just accept defeat.

I rather have had Jane and Ryan than Sutton and Richard if this was a matter of only one happy romance. I’m so pissed off at television and movie writers who keep making shitty plot decisions.
