TW!! DISCUSSION OF SUICIDE ||
SPOILERS! DUSKWOOD THEORY :)
:
:
:
:
:
So, I've seen a lot of people theorising about why Phil had Jennifer's bracelet and the simple answer which came to me in the shower is that,
Phil found the bracelet in the Aurora.
Okay, hold up, just think about it ┐( ˘_˘)┌
In our discussion with Jake, there was a choice in which we speculated that whoever brought the bracelet to the pawnshop must have had money problems,
A couple of shite goes down *cough Cleo and Thomas breaking into the Aurora cOUGH*, and we find out that Phil's been closing down the Aurora an hour earlier due to lack of customers after Hannah disappeared and the dead body in the forest turned up.
Now, I then rechecked the timeline and it didn't fit (´д`)
The bracelet had already been brought to the pawnshop prior to the corpse's discovery and Hannah's kidnapping.
So I thought it over again and went back a little earlier.
A decade earlier, when Michael Hanson lost his daughter and gave the bar to Phil.
Now, Mr. Hanson had given up at this point regarding Jennifer's case and as we would later learn, he walked into the forest and was never seen again.
And it clicked with me (sort of 🤔)
Michael already gave up the bar, gave up on finding his daughter's killer and, sadly, on his life (。•́︿•̀。)
Now, picture this,
Surely, he still had to work while he awaited news about his daughter's case,
But he couldn't stop thinking about it obviously.
And on the day Jennifer disappeared, which was the day of the Pine Glade Festival, she'd gone to see him in the Aurora,
Either for a quick hello, to see how he was doing or to tell him that she was heading to the festival,
Just, for whatever reason.
And she accidentally leaves her bracelet
ヾ(*’O’*)/
It falls off, she doesn't realise it, but when Michael cleans up the Aurora after work, he finds it,
And he realises later on that it's the last and latest thing he has of Jennifer before she's killed.
The last thing his daughter left behind for him, whether accidentally or otherwise.
Of course, he'd keep it close to him, wherever he goes,
And we get back to where Michael still has to work while waiting for news of Jennifer's case.
Nothing comes.
Not a word from the police.
Not a word from the killer.
The case reached a dead end and so has Michael's hope.
Then he walks into the forest.
And leaves behind the note,
Giving the Aurora to Phil (who Michael wished he'd hired earlier so he could've picked up Jennifer from the festival and possibly saved her)
And the bracelet.
Now, this is the part where you ask
"But J, if he'd treasured the bracelet so much, why didn't he take it with him?"
Well, my dear, I can only speculate ┐(´ー`)┌, so here are my thoughts.
Michael Hanson was done.
He's run out. He's tired. He's done.
He gives up.
Everything.
His bar, his life,
And, finding his daughter's killer.
But the bracelet,
He'd left it behind so someone else can do everything he couldn't in his place.
I mean, take a look at the bar,
Man gave it to Phil, a guy he hired a few weeks ago to help around because he couldn't work properly anymore.
Michael entrusted his work to Phil and,
In the case of the bracelet, he entrusted finding Jennifer's killer to whoever found it.
He left it behind to remind people that his daughter, Jennifer Hanson, was wrongly robbed of her life and too soon.
.
.
.
Or I'm over-speculating ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyways, TL;DR
Phil had Jennifer's bracelet because Michael Hanson left it in the Aurora
ヘ(。□°)ヘ
What do you think?
Oh! About why Phil took it to the pawnshop, I mean, he obviously didn't know it was Jennifer's and thought he could make a penny or two if the stones emeralds ;) were real ┐(´(エ)`)┌

Italian proverbs for every Duskwood character
Jake: Caution is never too much. - (You have to be careful to avoid trouble);
Richy: Who doesn't eat in company, is a thief or a spy; - (Anyone who doesn't enjoy the victory of the group has something to hide);
Jennifer: There is a remedy for everything except death. - (No matter how difficult a situation is, if you're alive there is always a solution);
Dan: Barking dog doesn't bite. - (Arrogant and grumpy people hardly carry out their threats);
MC: Think well for not to sin, think badly for not to make mistakes. - (It's better to think badly to avoid being hurt);
Hannah: Who is the cause of their pain, they'll have to cry themselves. - (You have to take responsibility for what you have done without blaming others);
Thomas: Who lasts it, wins it. - (Who resists, wins);
MWAF: Who sows the wind, collects storm. - (Who hurts will receive greater damage than what it has done);
Amy: Desperate times call for desperate measures. - (When the situation is serious, all possible solutions must be used);
Phil: Who praises himself, gets dirty - (Modesty is important. Anyone who brags, ends up easily making a bad impression);
Jessy: Who finds a friend, finds a treasure. - (Friendship is a very precious thing);
Cleo: With good manners you get everything. - (With kindness can achieve more than arrogance and imposition);
Alan: Trusting is good, not trusting is better. - (Trusting others is a good thing, but it's better not to trust too much so as not to be disappointed);
Lilly: The pits are full of hindsight. - (Prediction of the past is useless);
Michael: Children are pieces of the heart. - (Parents' love).
And you? There are some proverbs that you know and that can fit with Duskwood's character?

Hooked on Polkas: The Legacy of Weird Al
Part 1: Close Personal Friends Fade in on a lonely kid listening to another boy singing “Eat It.” Pan to a middle schooler obsessively hunting for new cassettes. Broken promises
Ch. 1 Lost and Found
Tumblr media
Pairing: M/c x Jake, Words: 1280 Summary: What if m/c went to the Grimrock mines to warn Jake of the police?
I had promised him I wouldn’t go but he tricked me, I would have gone to the mines just like Michael Hanson requested, however Jake has other plans.  I must admit it was really sweet that the group had asked of me not go. Well only Thomas encouraged me to do so. I am obviously not mad at him, I could understand how he was feeling, the devastation and the fear that was dominating him when it came to Hannah.
I was so scared, Jake kept talking to me, keeping me updated on what was going on in the tunnels, what he was seeing. He kept texting every motion he would make even though the signal was getting weaker and weaker until he said someone was coming and went offline. I felt my knees go weaker at the thought of the culprit getting to him, I haven’t even seen his face but in my head, my last call with Richy keeps repeating, this time though it is Jake who falls in blood. God! I don’t even know his face and yet I don’t want to lose him.
Once I realized Bloomgate was on his way there I picked up my stuff and took my bike on the mines as well. I was most likely going to be late, nonetheless I was unable to sit down and just wait for Jake’s reply. I was staying at the motel. No one was aware of that not even the man without a face apparently or perhaps he realized only now.
I was riding as fast as I could, my eyes fixed on the road, taking small breaks only to stare at the navigator of Duskwood made sure I had on my device. Suddenly my phone rang… I was Alan Bloomgate.
“Hello, Nellie… I have gotten to the tunnels of the mines” He sounded older than it felt on the text messages.
“Owo, good job chief. How did you find this information all by yourself?” I asked making sure the mock and sarcasm in my voice was distinctively highlighted.
“You did a good job.” He spoke up and then gasped, there was a pause in his voice “There is a room full of files, archives. And there are pictures of all your friends…” He told me.
“Really Sherlock? Maybe there’s an envelope with my name a big sign saying revenge and plethora of raven graffiti?” I wondered and panted lightly, the freezing breeze of December was hitting my skin like many small stab wounds. It was Christmas and I was probably riding my bike to my death. I hoped that Alan wouldn’t notice the back ground noise of my bike and my dragged breathing.
“How do you know?” he asked me, his tone surprised. I was rather satisfied that he didn’t see many of these facts coming.
“That’s what we wanted you to see at the Hanson old residence.” I explained and braked abruptly.
“Are you outside?” He asked me and I didn’t reply. “If you are thinking of coming here, change mindset, it is too dangerous.” He started off.
“Too late for that chief.” I spoke and parked my bike. I was wearing heavy clothes that wouldn’t allow me to move freely, I kept my beanie and scarf. “the culprit threatens me quiet sometime now and today he told me that he would let the two go if I came at Grimmrock waterfall…” I unriddled my ponders leaving Jake out of my speech, he was already in there somewhere. I was in danger running towards a trap and all I could think of is how close we are to each other for the first time.
I strolled over the area, it was a really impressive and beautiful place, I was to the place I was supposed to meet with Micheal Hanson but he seemed nowhere around, I had started shivering without really realizing it.
“There’s someone there.” Alan said and his voice got quieter.
“Be careful, do not shoot…Can you hear me?” I asked as I saw the screen glitching. The damn reception of that place… I forgot where I was standing, I was only scared that he would fall face to face with Jake.  I raised my gaze to see the culprit 50 meters away from just staring blankly and I gulped.
“Mrs. Donford.” Alan exclaimed and I looked at the screen. He had found Hannah.
“Find Richy” said she immediately before the call was over.
“Notifying the police wasn’t part of the plan.” The man without a face said, his voice still altered.
“Many things were not in the plan and yet, here we are, aren’t we?” I asked and hoped to stall him as long as I could so the rest would come out of the mines and find me.
‘Bloomgate found Hannah, she is safe...’
‘And I am standing face to face with our cute little legend.’  I texted the groupchat and I saw everyone coming online immediately.
‘What do you mean?’ Lilly asked.
‘Awe some one ran out of braincells, Nellie, WHAT THE HECK?’ Dan texted.
‘Get out of there’ Cleo was next.
‘Please, please, please, Nellie, you can still leave… There’s Jake and now the police too.’ Jessy tried convincing me and I sighed.
‘Nellie where are you?’ Lilly asked as I couldn’t reply at that point, the legend was laughing but thankfully not walking, he kept the distance between us and this offered me some sense of security that I couldn’t really explain.
‘Answer, please don’t scare us like that’ Jessy added.
‘Guys give her time.’ Thomas tried to be the common sense .
“What do you want from me?” I yelled loudly as this staring contest was unnerving me, I made sure to press voice record and sent it to the groupchat. “Why did you involve me?” I yelled even louder. However, he seemed unphased. “You are scared of me, but I do not know why… I only came here for two months and suddenly I am tangled in this mess because of you… You just stand there… You want to scare me? Well congratulations you’ve made it…”
“You see, this mine stopped operating after a great explosion, many innocent people died back in the day, therefore the cause of the explosion isn’t still known… This is how it works, explosion usually has causalties.” He spoke and I inhaled deeply.
“You didn’t…” I breathed out in disbelief.
“Or maybe I did.” He said and I felt wings on my legs as I sprinted down the entrance and I saw him chase after me when Alan’s voice was heard and maybe a few shots. I don’t know if he was still after me. I soon found myself on the ladder Jake showed me and started climbing down, if he was after me he would have made it to the entrance cut down the ladder and I would already be dead… Right?
“Jake!” I exclaimed and my voice echoed all through the tunnels. I started running and running I was lost by now. My phone bombardised with concerned messages while I was looking everywhere for him or the explosives. Not that I would know what to do with them.
I was out of breath, I have no idea how long I have been running around those tunnels, it must have been twenty minutes and I was in denial. I was lost. I paused in a fork path and took a deep breath when I heard a crack from the floor and I felt a pair of hands pulling me on a narrow tunnel. I was out of breath I felt a pair of hands pulling me on a narrow tunnel. It was over my mouth and pressed over my neck. I couldn’t escape or scream… I froze.
A/N: Hey, I replayed the whole game and I feel pretty confident into staritng a small fic again. There will potentially be more chapters on the way. I accept requests of duskwood characters and I would also appreciate your opinion.
Have a great day:)
Yours, silvermist

Her name Oneshot
He stared at the computer screen, clenching his teeth. He felt useless for not being able to help her. It could be that her photo was not there, but her name was. A name now tainted by a murderer and the kidnapper of his sister.
It only reassured him that she was away from Duskwood, but even then he couldn't calm his rage-filled thoughts. He had stopped talking to her a moment ago and he still hadn't calmed down no matter how much he was making preparations for Hannah's phone.
He couldn't help but look at that photo, with her name on it. He didn't want that man to have written it, he didn't have the right to make such a beautiful name, was filled with the hatred that Michael Hanson felt for the rest of the group. She had nothing to do with that matter. She was innocent. Pure. Or at least was how Jake saw her.      He ran his finger gently over the name, tracing it carefully. He frowned with a grimace of disgust. She shouldn't be there.
He took out his notebook and pen from his backpack and slowly began to write her name. As he did so, he smiled, remembering the smile she had in her profile picture. He knew she had changed it the day he returned. She looked full of life and he liked that.      He finished writing her name and let the ink dry, then traced it with his finger. The sensation was different, much more pleasant and calm. Thousands of positive sensations came to him. She always made him smile when he thought of her.
He opened his mouth and whispered some tender words dedicated only to her, even though she couldn't hear him.     “No matter what happens, I will always protect you.”

End of game spoilers below...
Wow Richy is fast. I mean cause he wasn't at his garage, he was at the old Hanson house presumably tying up Hannah. Or are we to assume it took Jake a fair amount of time to gather all the user IDs worth contacting? Even then, let's say Richy was more occupied with having a kidnapped victim. After making sure Jessy had the day off, he thought he had all the time to set Hannah up in her new accommodation and make sure she couldn’t escape. He was not expecting Jake. So he drove like crazy to get to Hannah’s before Thomas? Or is this one of things we just conveniently look over. 🤭

we'll make it through
Pairing: Jake x Fem!MC (focus on the main story a bit more though)
Genre: Post-Episode 10
Words: 2,928
Summary: Following Episode 10, MC thinks she should probably be happy. Hannah has been found, the Man Without A Face is no longer a threat, and as far as she knows, Jake is safe. But when she is whisked out of her bed in the middle of the night and taken to Duskwood to be interrogated by none other than Alan Bloomgate, she realizes that maybe some secrets were better off kept that way.
[ A/N: Hello!
Thank you all so much for the love on my last story. I wrote this in one sitting and did not proofread it whatsoever, so I apologize for any mistakes that may be made. Also, I will make a Masterlist where you can read all my fics if you choose to. :)
Enjoy! ]
“You don’t believe me.”
Alan Bloomgate blinked tiredly at me from across the table. I didn’t blame him. It had been quite a long couple of days. After Richy’s reveal as the MWAF and the fiasco in the mine, the town of Duskwood seemed to be slowly returning to its former state. Still—there were questions that had to be answered. Hence, why three men had shown up at my door in the middle of the night to tell me I would be seeing Duskwood a little sooner than planned.
He sighed. “I never said that.”
“Then somebody else doesn’t believe me.”
“You know how this sounds, [MC].” He reasoned. “You tell me that your friend—Richy—chose to kidnap Hannah. Yet—neither you nor any of your other friends seemed to know. According to your chat history, you and Richy talked quite a lot.”
“Sometimes.” I admitted. “We were friends. I thought we were friends. Why would I lead you to Hannah if I had been an accomplice in Richy’s plan?”
“I’m not suggesting that you were,” He attempted to reassure me. “Just trying to understand what happened in that mine, that’s all. I’m trying to understand how you fit into all of this. You had no knowledge of this group before Thomas texted you, is that true?”
I nodded. “Yeah. I received a message from Thomas and everything kind of snowballed. Hannah sent him my number, apparently. I’m still not sure why. They asked me how I knew Hannah, but I told them the truth—that I didn’t.”
“And how does the hacker fit into all of this?”
I swallowed. “He doesn’t.”
“We have already gained access to your phone, [MC]. Truthfully, I know what I have to. But I’m hoping that you can shed some light on the situation at hand. You know, I had always known this town to be a safe place. Then suddenly, ten years ago, Jennifer Hanson’s body is found inside the forests of Duskwood. Then, recently, Amy Bell Lewis’ body is found. Both cases unsolved. Both holding a connection to the forest. Except—I don’t know what it is. But you do. I don’t think you are as suspect here, but I do think you know something you aren’t willing to share.”
I narrowed my eyes. “Jake has nothing to do with them.”
“Maybe not.” He hummed. “But the topic of him does get a rise out of you. So—take me through this one more time. You received a call from the kidnapper, asking you to come and meet him by the Grimrock Waterfall.”
“Yeah. That was after he’d been shot by Dan. His plan had gone wrong, so he needed to come up with something new, I presume. Except—I never went, so I don’t know what his intentions could have been if I did show up.”
“So, you decided not to show on your own?”
I hesitated. “No. Thomas really wanted me to go. I thought about it. But—the others were certain it was nothing more than a way to lure me there and trap me.”
“And you thought it was Michael Hanson.”
“He fit the bill,” I admitted quietly. “We were mistaken.”
“I told you he was dead.”
“Richy was supposed to be dead and he wasn’t.” I reminded him. “I thought you could’ve helped him leave. Listen. I’m not proud of it. I just believed it over the possibility of one of them having kidnapped their own friend and lied to us all this time.”
He paused. “But you did send someone into the mine.” I tensed. “[MC], please. Believe me—I’m on your side. If I wanted to arrest him myself—I would have already done so by now.”
I averted my gaze. “So, you know where he is.”
“The general vicinity, yes.” Alan paused. “What would you have done if I would have found him down in the mine?”
“I was really hoping you wouldn’t.” I admitted. “I almost told you—I was afraid that you’d shoot him so I almost told you that he was down there with you. It’s better to have him arrested than to have him wind up dead. He would’ve probably never forgiven me.” I blinked back tears. “I know what you think about him. I know they’re after him. I also know you warned me—that they were there.”
“Maybe your story’s not that crazy.”
“I didn’t want him to go,” I whispered. “He knew the risks. We both did. But—we started this all to find Hannah. We had to finish it. I know it sounds ridiculous. Please, Alan. The only person in on all of this was Richy. I was there when he told Jessy—on the phone call. I imagine it went the same for everyone else when she told them. We trusted him and we were wrong to.”
“Then Richy killed Amy?”
“No,” I ran a hand through my hair. “Amy killed herself. I suppose Richy caused her to do it, but there was a letter she wrote and he found it. Richy didn’t kill anyone.”
“And how is Jennifer Hanson tied to all of this?”
I shook my head. “That’s not my story to tell you, Alan. Please. I’ve done my part. We found the culprit. Hannah’s alive and on the road to recovery. Richy is dead. For the first time in what feels like it’s probably been years, the people of Duskwood can finally rest. Can’t you let them have it for a while?”
“And what about Richy’s family?”
“What about them?”
“What do you suggest I tell them?”
I paused. Richy’s family. Well—that was tough. Do you tell them your son kidnapped somebody and drove another to their death and in the end—all they had was knowledge that something had happened to their son and they didn’t even really know what. Do you tell them you’re sorry, that you wish you could have stopped him? Tell them about all the good moments you had—like the ridiculously bad jokes he used to tell that always made you laugh? Could you tell them anything that wouldn’t have them break down?
“You tell them—” I suggested. “That you’re sorry. He thought he was doing the right thing. You can’t fault him for that. He just—went about it the wrong way. I think, somehow, his heart might have been in the right place. Maybe it wasn’t. But you don’t let them know that the thought even crossed your mind. Tell them how much he meant to his friends. Before. I mean. Like how when Jessy was attacked by the MWAF, he went over to comfort her after. Or how he rented a place to get his friends out of Duskwood when he thought they were all in danger. Make sure to leave out the gruesome details.”
He closed the binder in front of him. “Can you think of anything more to tell me?”
“About the case?”
He shrugged. “Or in general.”
“We’re so young,” I told him. “Practically kids. We’re not, but—the decisions we make won’t be the right ones all the time. I’m including myself in this—so you know. Maybe we could have left it to the police. For the record—I’m glad we didn’t.”
“Are you saying this to make yourself feel better about all of this?”
“It’s the truth.” I told him. “Richy would have never given Hannah up willingly. The only reason she escaped is because he was injured. Because you found her. Because of my friends. So, please take it easy on them.” I paused. “And Alan? I know it’s a lot to ask for. But…can I please ask for a favor from you?”
“Depends on what you’re asking me.”
“You warned me,” I reminded him knowingly. “About the FBI. I told you everything I can when it comes to Hannah. If you could—the things you know about Jake, if you could maybe keep it to yourself. I mean—don’t poke the bear, you know? They’re already after him and—look, I’ve had bad judgement all my life, when it comes to people. Clearly, Richy is a prime example. But, Jake is the first person I’ve met that I’m sure of. He’s good. So if you could—”
“I’m not sure what you’re talking about, [MC].” He responded, and then, he stood from his chair and winked at me. “I will be back with your belongings.”
I listened to the click of the door and sighed, burying my head in my hands. The whole thing was a mess. An absolute shitshow. Richy was dead. Hannah was safe, sure, but at what cost—she had killed someone. Even if it was ten years ago, people still wanted answers. She still needed to face her mistakes. It didn’t matter that it was an accident. They’d covered it up and kept it a secret for years. All of them. And Hannah was the only one left alive to take the fall.
Somehow, it didn’t feel right.
And Jake—God, where even was he? He had texted me once outside of the mine, only once, sent a simple I’m fine followed by a smiley face. He had gone offline before I could even respond and hadn’t been back on for days. I don’t know what that meant. Maybe he had been arrested. Maybe I would never know.
The door clicked open again but I didn’t raise my head. Truthfully, I didn’t want to move. Didn’t think I could. I had been here, under Alan’s watch, for what felt like it had been days, though I’m sure it had only been a few hours. Really, I hadn’t even had time to process what happened. All I knew was that I had been brought to Duskwood for an interrogation. Alan told me he didn’t see a suspect in me, but he also told me not to leave town until they cleared me. Whatever the hell that meant.
“Do you have my phone?” I asked tiredly.
The device slid across the table and landed in front of me. I swiped up on the screen and frowned when I saw no missed messages from Jake. Then again, I suppose I wasn’t really expecting there to be. Maybe just hoping he would have gotten enough time to text me that he was okay. That he didn’t drop off the face of the earth after telling me he loved me. Well. That’s my fault for falling in love with a wanted criminal.
The chair across from my scraped against the floor. Ugh. Wonderful. Time for more questions to be interrogated with. I groaned and threw my head back to connect with the wall behind me. “I’d love to give you more—but I don’t have anything else to say.”
“Hm.” He mumbled. “I assumed you would be happier to see me.”
I cracked one eye open and tilted my head down to meet the stranger’s eyes. My mouth went dry and my head spun. The person in front of me—I hadn’t seen them before, but I knew. The smirk dancing across his face and the way he looked at me and—oh fuck.
“Jake?” I pinched the inside of my elbow. Nope. Still awake. “How are you here?”
“It’s a—” He glanced back toward the door. “Long story, actually. Surprisingly, Alan helped me out quite a bit. However, I am afraid we do not have much time. Maybe five minutes. It is a very high risk being here for me. But. I had to see you.”
I swallowed my tears. “You’re alive.”
“I am.”
My chair scraped against the ground and clattered to the floor with a loud bang. I barely had time to react to Jake’s wide eyes before I threw myself into his embrace, folding both arms around his neck. Maybe it was a bit cliché, but he smelled like home. Like—like everything I had ever been missing and didn’t know. If we only had five minutes, I wanted to spend them wrapped up in his embrace. But—I knew there were things that needed to be said.
Starting with—
“You absolute fucking asshole!”
His eyes widened comically as I pulled away to slap him across the chest. “What—?”
“You had me worried!” I screeched. “How dare you tell me that and then you disappear for days with nothing but an ‘I’m fine’? I’m glad you were fine, Jake, but I sure as hell wasn’t fine when I had to constantly worry about you.”
“I am so sorry, [MC].”
“I don’t care.” I shook my head and collapsed back into him. “I don’t care. You said we could be together after all of this was over.”
He frowned. “It isn’t over.”
“Yes, it is!” I demanded, despite knowing he was right. “It is. You said it would be over once we found Hannah. We found her, Jake.”
“That only means we are one step closer.” He tried to reason with me. His hands rubbed my arms softly. “These new turn of events have caused a slight wrench in my plans. My pursuers are close to me—closer than they have ever been. I cannot risk putting you in danger like that.”
A tear fell from my eyelash. “I don’t care about that.”
“Please, [MC].”
I took a deep breath. “How long?”
“I don’t know.” He admitted unsurely. “Until I know for sure. Please, I do not want you to worry about that, though. I promised you I would not let them separate us indefinitely. I hold every one of my intentions to keep that promise.”
“You could take me with you.”
“[MC].”
“Fine. It was a bad suggestion.” I agreed. “Just—now that you’re here, it’s going to be hard to let you go again.”
“I will find you.” He stroked a hand through my hair. “In every lifetime.”
“Do you know how sappy you sounded then?”
He grinned slyly. “I have picked up quite a few things on my years hiding out. I may have stolen that one from an elderly couple I came across once. However—it still holds true. I won’t ever let you be on your own for too much time.”
“Will we ever be together?”
“I’d like to think so.” He hummed knowingly. “We already are in some ways.”
A knock on the door made me flinch. Jake smiled knowingly. A bit of a grimace, but still enough to reassure me. Or at least try and attempt to. He pressed a long kiss to my forehead and breathed me in. I was sure I smelled like police stations and sweat and my sheets I had clambered out of at three in the morning to answer the door. Still, he didn’t seem to care.
“[MC].”
I shook my head. “No.”
“No?”
“You’re not allowed to say it again. Not until we’re allowed to be together.” I pressed my face to his chest. “Think of is as your reason to come back to me.”
“I already have multiple.”
“You know—this’ll make me miss you more.”
“You found Hannah,” He explained, though it didn’t really explain anything at all. “Changed my life in more ways than one. I needed the chance to tell you that in person. I did not care about the risks.”
“You’ll text me when you’re able to?”
He nodded. “It might be a while before then.”
“As long as you do it.”
“I will.” He promised softly. A tear escaped his eye but he wiped it before it could leave a trail of evidence down his face. “You have to let go of me now.”
I released my hold on him and gave him a watery, shaky smile. My heart clenched deep inside of my chest painfully and yet—I wasn’t sad. Well. I was. I wanted him to stay with me. But I knew we would be together again. We would both make sure of it.
“See you soon?”
“As soon as I am able.”
The door clicked shut behind him. My lip quivered slowly as I slid down the wall behind me and buried my face in my hands. There were so many things I was unsure about. So many things that had me on the edge of my seat. That had me unable to truly sleep at night. Jake’s safety had been one of them since the moment I found out he was wanted by the government. Hannah’s fate. The identity of the Man Without A Face. The well-being of my friends.
Hannah had been found. The Man Without A Face had been revealed. And yet—none of it felt as though it was truly settled. Jake was still on the run. The group had lost a friend—maybe in more ways than one. Hannah’s fate still truly wasn’t sealed. The Man Without A Face—well, maybe it was possible that sometimes, I wish I still didn’t know. Things were supposed to be better after it ended. We were supposed to be relieved. I was supposed to be with Jake. And now—
Maybe it would never truly be over.
Maybe—I realized—as I sat alone in an interrogation room in the middle of Duskwood—where I had lost one friend and where two women would never truly get justice without the cold and hard bitter truth coming out—that this was the way it was always supposed to be. No justice. No sense of relief. No back to normal. No hope. Just—
—emptiness.

Phil gave Jennifer's bracelet to the pawn shop. We know that Phil was employed by Michael Hanson after Jennifer's accident. So whether Phil knew Jennifer before?  Or did he found the bracelet at pine glade? Or at the site of accident? Also he seems to be coming back in moonvale. We spent lot of time with Jessy in duskwood. So it is possible that Phil is coming back. Do you remember which place Jessy told us she was from?? Coz her mother took her to duskwood.
Jake. Did Jake escape? Was there other route that he knew?  What if the redlog pines are also connected to the ironsplinter mine. Did he get caught by fbi due to Hannah's reaction in the end scene? Also the options at the end. The confession. It seemed like Jake knew je would get caught so he confessed. But there is also option where he says the he will tell us after he gets out or like one on one.
all our contact disappears. Everyone's numbers are gone. So did Jake did that?
the case of duskwood is known by people out of duskwood now. Redlog pines. That means the details of the case is published. So we will be getting info about what had happened. To Richy. To Jake. To all of them.

Lost without You (Part 1)
The young hacker had managed to evade his pursuers once more, escaping the mine unnoticed and mostly unharmed except for the smoke in his lungs. Apparently there was an exit that not even the FBI had known of, allowing him to escape undetected and swiftly. Fleeing on foot past the outskirts of Duskwood, he was able to slow his pace, being careful to avoid any busy and populated roads. After finding refuge in another city and booking a hotel room under a secret identity, he was then able to focus on setting up his computer. It had been over five days since the incident at the mine, meaning the news of the explosion was everywhere.
Four days ago Alan Bloomgate, chief police of Duskwood, recovered the missing Hannah Donfort from the Grimstone Mine. Although malnourished, weak, and frightened; the young woman was in overall better condition than expected. She showed no signs of injuries beside slight cuts on her body, and chafing on her wrists and ankles from rope. Before anyone could reenter the mine and look for the perpetrator or the missing person of Richy Rogers, the Grimstone exploded. Officers have confirmed that it was clearly an inside job, the person behind everything had set fire to the mine in order to hide the evidence and avoid capture by the police.
Hannah Donfort was brought to the Duskwood hospital and checked over for any more injuries, luckily there were none major. Her family and friends are overjoyed by her safe return; however, the same can not be said for the Rogers family. Police are still searching the burnt remains for any evidence or trace of the young mechanic, another victim of the cruel actions of a maniac. The identity of the perpetrator has not yet been confirmed, officers are still looking for the body or possible bodies in the mine.
Jake bit his lip as he read the article, it was all lining up just as he had suspected. Michael was undoubtedly the one who had started the fire, opting to commit suicide instead of being imprisoned for Hannah’s kidnapping and Amy’s murder. His electric blue eyes then caught the headline of another column, immediately clicking onto the website.
Hannah Donfort has just confessed to being involved in a mysterious and tragic incident that took place nearly ten years ago, the cause of Jennifer Hanson’s death.
In 2013 a young woman by the name of Jennifer Hanson went missing. She was last seen at the Bar Aurora, where her father Michael Hanson was the current owner of. Michael made a statement saying she had left the Aurora for her father’s house, but she had never made it there. The case was thought to be foul play, until a few weeks later her body was found buried deep in the Duskwood forest, the onslaught of rain had washed away the dirt surrounding the grave. The autopsy produced evidence that Jennifer’s death wasn’t necessarily murder, but instead she had been hit by a car. Slivers of paint from an AMC Gremlin were found on her, leading the police to the owner of the matching car: Ted Madruga. Madruga was arrested and imprisoned despite his claims that he was not involved in her death. For ten years he has lived behind bars and been accused of Jennifer’s hit and run, until now.
Hannah Donfort remembers the incident perfectly as one that will never leave her mind. It is forever embedded in her brain, one that will haunt her the rest of her life. She claims it was an accident, afterall she had been only 14 when it had occurred. She also has named Amy Bell Lewis, now deceased, and Richy Rogers, currently missing and assumed to be dead, as being involved in the incident. According to Hannah, Amy had lost an important necklace during the carriage tour around the Grimstone Waterfall and had asked Hannah to go back and help find it. Since both girls were underage and couldn’t legally drive, they had asked Richy to drive them back to the mine. Hannah states that Richy had been drinking and refused, but after the girls’ incessant begging, he gave them the keys to an old AMC Gremlin. The same AMC Gremlin that Ted Madruga was the current owner of, he had apparently left his vehicle at Roger’s Garage in order to have the car scrapped. The file had been lost, which is why there was no proof that the vehicle had ever been on the shop’s property, leading to Madruga’s arrest. Hannah says she had been driving around the Rogers’ lot for about a year, so she didn’t think anything could go wrong, after all they would be driving on a mostly deserted highway.
Hannah claims that after the accident, she and Amy had returned back to Richy’s house, where the three of them then drove back to the site and buried the body. She was able to lead the officers to the exact spot where Jennifer’s body had been found ten years ago, and her description and obvious remorse and guilt left no doubt in the officers’ minds that she was indeed telling the truth. She is currently being held on trial for her involvement in the death of Jennifer Hanson, the charges will more than likely be lessened due to her confession. Ted Madruga has rejoined society after ten years of unjust and wrongful imprisonment. This is a tragic day for the community of Duskwood, old memories resurfacing as the village’s dark side has once more regained the spotlight.
Jake sighed as he read the article, he knew Hannah had done the right thing, but still he prayed that her sentencing wouldn’t be so bad. He hoped that since she had been a minor when the incident occurred and because of her confession, she’d get off with just a few years of jail time. He had known about Hannah and Amy’s involvement in Jennifer’s death since gaining access to the chat between the two girls; however, the news about Richy was quite unexpected. All this time Richy had held the answers, meaning they might have been able to trace the leads back to Michael Hanson much sooner. No, that was the wrong mindset. Richy was still missing, more than likely deceased, he was still in the mine when the fire broke out. He couldn’t be angry at the mechanic, not now, there had to have been a reason Richy had kept it secret, as did Hannah and Amy. God, this secret had killed Amy and ultimately Richy too, Hannah had barely escaped the hands of a maniac. The thought made his adrenaline skyrocket, fingers running through his black, wavy hair. His eyes landed on a public record that had aired just 48hrs ago, clicking on his mouse as the newspaper clipping flooded his screen.
A new statement has been released concerning the case of Hannah Donfort’s kidnapping, Amy Bell Lewis’ death, and the fire in the mine. Jessica Hawkins, a resident of Duskwood since moving here when she was six, and MC, the mysterious source that led Alan to the Grimstone Mine, have given the  police crucial information that connects all three cases. Two recorded video calls have finally disclosed the identity of the kidnapper as Richy Rogers. The link to these two videos can be found here.
Jake watched quietly as he viewed both videos, one of his worst fears coming true. He felt the betrayal, he felt the anger, the pain, but he also felt the sorrow. It wasn’t that he was grieving for himself, but for the others. He couldn’t imagine the pain that the group was experiencing, especially Hannah, Jessy, and MC. Richy was their friend, how could he do this to them? How could he make the last few weeks a living nightmare for Hannah? How could he attack Jessy? How could he allow MC and the others to believe he was dead? How could he strike fear into the group by trying to attack the cabin in the woods? How could he ask MC to come to the Grimstone Mine? The devil had been right before their very eyes, and they had failed to see it. Jake’s breath stuck in his throat as he clicked on the latest article, emotions battling within him as he read the words.
The officers have given up on finding the burnt remains of Richy Rogers, however it is undeniably known that he is dead. The tragedy from ten years ago has finally been solved, but another one has just begun. So many questions arise, so much betrayal and sorrow weighing on the shoulders of the Duskwood community. There are no answers, no explanations for this, some might say this is what the mechanic’s actions warranted him. In just a matter of weeks the people of Duskwood have lost two of their members, Amy Bell Lewis and Richy Rogers. The town offers condolences to the friends and families of the deceased, and desperately hopes for a brighter horizon in the near future.
Hey lovelies! Thank you all for your kind words and support! Please leave reviews and comments in the box below, I love to hear from all of you. I will try to get part two and three out in the next couple of days. ;) Love you all.

"Favorite crime"
pairing : MWAF!JakexMC
summary : When MC went to meet Michael Hanson at Ironsplinter Mine, she was expecting everything. Everything except that behind the killer mask was hidden someone she loved.
His ocean eyes was the abyss. And even though it was a huge bottomless abyss, I wanted to sink into it forever.
warnings❗: stockholm syndrome, absolutely unhealthy, toxic relationship, blood, slightly dominant Jake, some hot and spicy stuff
autor's note: i hope you will like it! i do not support or romanticize these types of relationships❗ english is not my first language:)
MC : Jake
MC : I love you
Jake : I love you too, MC.
These messages followed me all the way to the iron mine by car. After quite long argument, Jake finally relented and agreed to my meeting with Michael. Was I stressed? A bit. I didn't know whether to call myself brave or stupid. What was the probability that the kidnapper and killer would keep his promise? I think very slight. But the vision of free Hannah and the end of this whole nightmare was too tempting. Even though I was afraid that when this was all over Jake would find me unnecessary and leave me.
I took a deep breath, pushing away the intrusive thoughts, and parked my car. As I stepped out of the car, I felt the August air and the summer evening wind brush my bare shoulders. I pulled my phone out of the back pocket of my jeans and punched in a message saying I'm in place, which I sent to the group.
I sighed softly and started walking because there was still a long way to go. I tried to chase away any dark scenarios that tried to control my mind. My fear increased even more as I saw the silhouette of a man in the distance. My heart began to beat an unnaturally fast pace and my palms began to sweat. I held my breath, try to make as little noise as possible with my steps. When we were really close, and the man still had his back to me, I took out my phone and decided to text Jake.
MC: I'm already here. Michael has his back to me, I don't know what I should do now.
I jumped when after clicking 'send' something vibrated in the pocket of the man standing a few steps in front of me.I opened my eyes slightly, not understanding what was happening. My lungs burned with living fire from uneven breathing.
Man slowly took the phone out of his pocket, then clicked something a few times.
Jake is online
What the actual fuck? I didn't understand what was happening. Why did Michael access Jake's application? Unless it's Jak- .. No. I had pushed that possibility out of my brain for once.
— If I were you, I'd run away. — He said in a deep, low tone that sent shivers down my spine
The mystery man turned, and I saw the face of a young boy with raven hair and sparkling ocean eyes. I swallowed hard and shook my head. My brain couldn't digest this information. Jake couldn't be the kidnapper.
— It's a joke? — I asked, and my voice almost broke. — Great, but Jake we have no time for such jokes. Actually, when do you get this humor? You were always the serious one of the two of us.
I put my arms around myself, waited for his answer. I met his eyes as he gently tilted his head and bit his lower lip. What is he playing?
— The problem is, I'm not kidding. — he replied, and I felt my heart change into a ten-ton boulder that pulls me to the very bottom
— Jake, stop. I do not want to listen to this. — I said while my hand tangled in my hair, tugging hard on it. My thoughts were like one big chaos. A thousand thoughts rushed through my head at once, and all I wanted at that moment was a silence to soothe the growing wound that was starting to bleed. — Tell me it's a lie. Say it!
I did not register that the boy came closer to me. Now he could easily grab me and drag me into the mine. I found the courage to look up and transfer it to his face. An icy stare cast lightning at me. But despite his sinister gaze, I felt no fear. The depth of his gaze engulfed me completely, and at that moment I felt myself drowning in his blue shade. I was so naive. So stupid. How could I believe anything for a person like Jake?
— I kidnapped her, MC. I kidnapped Hannah.
— And Amy? Richy? Why did you kill them?! — I yelled right in his face and immediately regretted it
Jake clenched his jaw and quickly grabbed my wrists while his other hand poked the syringe into my neck. I twisted my face slightly, then felt unmerciful exhaustion. I slowly started sliding to the ground, but Jake wouldn't let me fall. He picked me up and the last thing I remembered was his fingers on my cheek, tucking my hair behind my ear.
— I guess this is a lesson in not trusting people, right? — he whispered straight into my ear
* * *
A loud bang woke me up. My head throbbed painfully. I couldn't hear my thoughts from the squeaking in my ears. I also felt immediately how numb my wrists were (which of course was due to the fact that they were tied with a rope). I barely looked up to meet the figure of Jake, who was pinching the bridge of his nose with two fingers. He looked like he was fighting himself. I swallowed hard, praying that his fight wasn't about torturing me or not.
— Are you want to kill me? — I asked, wincing at my scratching throat
The boy gave me a look. I felt the strength and power of his blue eyes shrink as he literally devoured me with his eyes. How fucked up am I if now instead of fear I felt a growing pressure from the bottom of my stomach?
I'm disgusting.
And that made me even more angry.
— I thought I could trust you! — I yelled hoarsely. I started to struggle with the rope that was preventing me from moving. — I hate you so much!
— How cute. Struggle all you want, you won't be leaving this place. — He growled at me, picking me up off the ground. I looked around, realizing we were probably in the middle of a mine. — Be good for me and I will untie you.
I narrowed my eyes, staring at his face. This is not how I imagined him. His chiseled face resembled a Greek god. He was so perfect. Deep blue eyes absorbed anyone who looked at them, and the lines of the jaw could cut through the paper. Black, messy hair begged to be pulled in certain situations.
A beautiful boy with such an ugly interior.
— They warned me about you. I should have listened. — I said with growing disgust to myself. Before that, I said I hate him. So why can't I believe it?
Hacker snorted contemptuously, and I felt something cold touch my forehead. I looked at the boy and then at the gun pointed at my head. We stood so close to each other that I could smell his perfume mixed with mint gum. I could feel his hot breath and was sure he could feel mine too. Jake ran the barrel of the pistol from my forehead, over my cheek and down to my neck. I was completely stunned by his presence. The tension between us grew steadily and I wondered how much longer I could hold on. How long will I hold back from pouncing on his lips.
Disgusting.
I felt his pressure on the gun increasing. As if he wanted to pierce my neck right through. Is it the end?
— If you want to kill me, do it. — I whispered looking at his eyes. I was a mess anyway. His eyes were still terribly cool. — Come on, do it!
— Are you a masochist, MC?
He didn't even know how much.
— I'm done saving myself. I'm sick of being there for everyone, when no one is with me, when I need someone. And now it turned out that the only person I fucking cared about is a fucking psycho. So if you kill me, you'll only do me a favor. — I admitted having had enough of his games
— Do you think I like hurting you? — He said, his hoarse voice making goose bumps all over my body
At that point, I wasn't sure about it, but I was sure I liked it more than it should have been.
— I do not know. I have no idea who you are, Jake. You lied to me all this time. Tell me, did you laugh when I confessed my feelings to you? Is it fun to find an idiot who can be manipulated like this? — I raised my voice again, feeling so angry. Angry with myself.
— That's right. I lied. I lied with so many things, but never lied about my feelings for you. — He whispered and finally lowered the gun. His hand went to my cheek. He ran his thumb across my bottom lip, causing something in my stomach to tip over. I clenched my jaw as I mentally fought the growing thirst.
I huffed mockingly.
— You think I'll believe it? You wrote to me that you care about me and five minutes later you called me and bully me! — I kicked, and he squeezed my arms tightly
I hate him, I hate him, I hate him.
— And you know what's the worst of it all? The worst part of all of this is that I still love you. And I hate myself for it. — I confessed looking at his eyes again. I let out a shuddering breath at his hungry eyes. —What have you done to me Jake?
The boy smiled indulgently. His cold hand slipped from my cheek and began to wander over my body. The heat between my legs kept increasing.
— I brought some adrenaline into your bore life, my angel. You were fascinated by darkness and mystery. — I felt his touch on my shoulder, the side of my breast — But don't worry, you have piqued my interest too. — his hand caressed my waist, and then my hips, which he gripped tightly — You were so.. fascinating.
— So naive. — He brought his face closer to mine and I tilted my neck back
— So devoted. — His nimble fingers unfastened the button on my jeans and my eyes rolled back
— So innocent. — He growled straight into my ear as his hand disappeared between my thighs and I groaned loudly
* *
I took a deep breath, leaning my head against the cold cave wall. The chill from this place cooled my warm body a little. The atmosphere between us was still hot and a bit tense. I tried to chase away thoughts about what had just happened, but I simply couldn't cope. How firm and dominant he was made my knees soften.
And let's not forget that he was also a government hacker who kidnaps and kills people in his spare time.
I felt dirty. So dirty.
I betrayed them. Jessy, Thomas, Dan, Cleo, Lilly.
Richy. And even Hannah.
So why didn't I feel bad about it at all?
— You are mine and I don't share. Don't ever fucking forget that.
A strong smell of tobacco reached my nostrils, which slightly quenched my raging thoughts. The boy across from me looked nothing like the person who tied me up with a rope and threatened me with a gun.I didn't see a sadist in him. Now he reminded me of a lost boy who needed to be looked after.
Or I was just telling myself to do so.
— Tell me. About everything. — I asked
Black-haired man took a drag on the cigarette and then let out the smoke with trembling lips.
— If you want to know if I enjoy killing people, I will disappoint your dark fantasy of being with a sociopathic murderer. When my life turned into a continuous escape and when I had no one with me, I felt no emotion. You know, I hated my father from an early age. He left my mom when she got pregnant, when she needed him the most. It was because of him that she fell ill and had to take medication. And ultimately it was because of him that she died. Her death was the height of my hatred for so many years. My mother was my whole world to me, which he took away from me. So I decided to take his world away from him as well, which of course was his older daughter. His suffering gave me satisfaction. I wanted him to lose his mind from pain. — He said, a dark smirk lurking on his lips — I didn't kill Amy. She committed suicide because she couldn't forgive herself for being involved in Jennifer's death. Richy showed himself to me on a plate. It was an impulse. Besides, it irritated me how close you were to each other. — He mumbled and lit another cigarette
I listened to it with bated breath. Jake was the definition of revenge. I felt my cheeks burn as he admitted he was jealous of me.In fact, I was no smaller monster than he was.
— So what have I done to you? — I whispered, inhaling the smell of nicotine. He was my private nicotine.
— You were so annoying from the start. I don't understand why you entered my mind, but when these feelings started to overwhelm me, I decide I had to stop this. — He sighed and ran his hand through his hair. — When I went to meet you, I was ready to choke you with my bare hands. But then you looked at me. With your huge, amber eyes in which I saw a palette of emotions that was so unknown to me. You made me feel. And this makes me want to vomit.
The image began to blur through the tears that had accumulated under my lids. My poor, confused boy now looked unemotional. I absorbed every lie from his divine mouth like ambrosia. I was completely drunk with his presence. If he was lying, he did it surprisingly well.
— You said you didn't know who I am. The truth is, even I don't know it. — His voice was trembling.
Even though I was still tied up, I no longer felt the bonds around my wrists and feet. I stared at the boy and I saw the same Jake with whom I had been writing for several months.
His ocean eyes was the abyss. And even though it was a huge bottomless abyss, I wanted to sink into it forever.
— If you just let me, I'll help you find yourself. I want you not to fight your feelings anymore, I want you to lose yourself in me as I lost myself in you. Become addicted to me. Let me be your drug. — I croaked and heard his bitter laugh
— You already are. I'm so addicted to you that I'm not sure I can live without you. — He replied and then shook his head — How long do you think I can be an egoist?
His question hung between us in a bitter-sweet halo. I fell back against the wall, closing my eyes. I was tired. It was enough just to wait for death. Why was I so weak and unable to fight my own feelings for him? Why was I willing to sacrifice my whole life to be able to call him my favorite crime?
Suddenly I felt a strong movement at my feet. I quickly opened my eyes to see Jake cut the ropes that held me to him. I could get away.I could save Hannah. I was able to save myself and my friend. But was this what I wanted?
— For the first time in my life, I choose someone over myself. He said, throwing back the ropes. I was free. — Go! Run away and tell everything in detail. Save your life.
I stared at him, not believing he was doing it for me. So, he really cared about me..I staggered to my feet and started walking. I could feel his burning gaze on my back. At the end of the corridor, I stopped.
How could I leave him alone? After all, I still believed I could fix him. And what would my life be without him?
— I already told you, I'm done saving myself. — the words echoed all over the cave — Now all I want to do is fuck everyone and run away from Duskwood with you.
I turned to face him and strode to him forcefully. He devoured every inch of my face with his sparkling eyes. They were so beautiful it hurt. I put my hands on his cheeks, his warm breath filling my face.
— The question is what do you want, Jake? — I whispered, brushing his lips.
The black-haired man smiled a little disturbingly.
— I want to be yours. And I want you to be mine. I want us to set a world on fire. Just to watch our enemies burn.
I bit my lip as I watched his eyes darken at my gesture.
— Then let's just do it.
Maybe I was in love with the demons that danced in his eyes when he looked at me.
Or maybe I was in love with the beauty of suffering.
