I’m sure a few of you are flailing and a few are rushing to ao3 as we speak, so I’ll keep it brief:

Posting is open between today and September 4th. You must have one complete fic of 1000 words posted by September 4th. If you cannot complete your fic on time, please reach out to me ASAP so alternative arrangements can be made.
The Handy Dandy Posting Guide should answer most of your posting questions, but if you have any questions please drop us a Tumblr message or an email on [email protected]

Hello everyone, it's that time of year again. Halloween. Which means that I'm running my sweet or spicy exchange over on AO3.
When you sign up you sign up to provide someone with at least 500 words of fanfic and you get the same out of the exchange.

If this was a film, there’d be a montage of three very handsome men fighting off the bad guys, showing their athletic prowess, and charming everyone in their paths.
Since it isn’t, please imagine these very handsome men working as an elite crime fighting team and serving up flirty looks on the side. Slow-mo hair toss, shirtless volleyball on the beach, maybe a surprise dive out of an airplane while disarming a bomber. That kind of thing.

So, I wrote this one shot for Jaime x Brienne Fic Exchange 2023 for the lovely @the-lightless-star .
I have been away from the fandom for almost a year now. Thank you @jaime-brienne-fic-exchange for bringing me back into this all-consuming world of Asoiaf and of course the Jaime and Brienne fandom.
As I was feeling particularly brave that day, I picked up a photo prompt and decided to write a canon-based adventure fic. I don't usually write adventure stuff; I prefer romance, but somehow my brain's romantic library got flooded, so here we are. It was super fun though.
I made a cute little mood board too... hihihihi

The Isle of Tarth was a summer haven for the Westerosi elite. It was a place of sprawling estates and private beaches, drawing families like the Lannisters back to its shores every year with the promise of a few months filled with sun and relaxation. For locals like Brienne, the island was the only home she'd ever known, and working for one of those wealthy families was how her father earned a living. It was also how she first met Jaime Lannister.

Welp now that the authors have officially been revealed for the @jaime-brienne-fic-exchange I can now share my contribution! I really enjoyed my prompt from paintingcranes, “Jaime and Brienne meeting many times over the years and feeling drawn to each other even though they are not ready to be in a relationship with each other, until they finally get it right one day” and couldn’t resist rolling the whole thing up in a sort of Tarth-as-Martha’s-Vineyard modern AU setting.

Volume 1 because I'm not even halfway through the fics (chronologically) but I wanted to get a rec list posted before reveals! Another one coming in a few months probably, lol. Only fics that are completed as of 8/14 are included here.
Valiant - Post-Long Night Jaime and Brienne through a dog's eyes. Trust me, it's a delight!
longed for as the sunwarmed earth - After the war, Jaime is exiled to a deserted island. I couldn't stop thinking about this one.
Calling the blame, let me own it - Jaime is given a chance to go back and change one moment in his history. This was so inspired.
you who know what love is - Regency/Bridgerton-inspired slow burn with lots of delightful side plots and entanglements.
I'm Betting Everything I've Got On You - Brienne and Jaime as horse trainers/breeders in a marriage of convenience, with some delicious pining and a hint of jealousy.
Headlong - Another Regency/Bridgerton AU, but with a faster burn and a different twist.
Why Not? - Hot little vignette about that time Jaime and Brienne met street musician/silver fox Arthur Dayne on vacation in Essos.
Protector of the Realm - Angsty arranged marriage between Queen Brienne and prisoner Jaime.
There are so many more I'm very excited about reading and I will do another rec list after I get through them, but I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every fic I've read and urge you to try to read as many as you can!

At last I promote my own fic for the @jaime-brienne-fic-exchange 2022! Written for the lovely @dreams-oath-bear , who asked for Podrick (book age) matchmaking his oathparents. I had lots of fun writing this story, and I'm happy I managed to put most of my ideas in it!

Posting is only two weeks away!
Yes, you read that right. Posting for the Jaime x Brienne Fic Exchange is just around the corner! Consider this your very gentle, very friendly reminder to finish your stories and/or clear your calendars to read all the delights that are to come!
And now the writers amongst us are panicked, a few things to remember:
There is still time. I promise. Posting runs until September 4th, so really it's only 250 words a week. You've got this. We've got this.
If you know you cannot complete your fic, please let us know. The no fault deadline is next Monday, August 14th. If you drop out after that or fail to post by the September 4th deadline, you will be required to post a 1000 word minimum Lil Oathkeeper treat before participating in future exchanges.
When you have a complete draft of your fic, please drop us a line! Some of us are editing until the last moment, I know, but this is immensely helpful for planning knight writers to ensure everyone gets a gift before author reveals.
The collection will open for posting August 21st. A link with all posting details will be sent a few days before.
