#barely but lets not talk about that#some leveled up so im not exactly sure but i went in with:#lvl 11 togepi. 17 flaffy. 12 sandshrew. 15 abra (useless). 15 dratini. 19 quilava#well the abra bought time for a heal#before putting the game down i got the dratini and abra from the game corner and levelled the egg togepi ig#lol was having fun with sand attack defense curl sandshrew with one poison move#for the gym trainers. whitney killed that rat right away#the damn quilava wouldnt attack for like six turns straight bc of infatuation. was my last pokemon. other than red health togepi-#that wouldve died in one hit#got thunder wave on it then smokescreened and leered a ton. then wait for quick attacks to hit. luckily she only crit stomp once on full hp#sand attack and smokescreen saved me from that rollout wahoo#ive replayed this many times and always picked totodile and sometimes chikorita. first time going cyndaquil#apparently I started in 2017 lmao. slowest game ever#pkmn

i know they have a full-on makeout session in this episode bc it's their first time and everything, but i am genuinely in love with this specific moment. there is just something so... intimate? humane? real? about the way joke brings zo with him into the bedroom and then sets them both down like this. it brings back memories, and maybe that touch of real-life connection makes this kiss so important to me. they're sweet, they're in love, and this kiss is a testament to that.

AFter weeks of treating him like a boyfriend and finding out about his factory and what not. He let you have free access to the house when he left for work. what he didnt know... is that he was going to regret that..
You saw his car leave and when you did you bolted for the toilet. You began throwing up last nights dinner the dinner before that the one before that and.. the one before that.
You had gotten super skinny... what you didnt know was that the onceler was coming home early.
“oh god *cough cough*” y/n said hovered over the toilet.
“I’m home! Ho-”

ok one last post about the Project to truly exorcise it from my brain. just some process/design thoughts (also now that it's done if you want to read my liveblogged whinging for whatever reason here it is)
first off some stats because i kept stats like the nerd that i am:
time wise making this animatic took about 93.5 hours give or take (thanks procreate process replay) spread across exactly 2 months
anyway when i said i finished this project mostly through stubbornness and sunk cost fallacy this is what i meant lol like a lot of my thought process through this was just 'no way in hell am i letting some of these drawings disappear into my drafts forever'
on average each frame took about 2 hours 45 minutes but thats a bit of an overestimate since i forgot to count some of the animated bits from the first two lines (so id guess the actual number is more like.. 2 hours 20 minutes?)
btw that line with the starry apparition fading away? 12 hours total
the single longest and most painful frame to draw was the one of the crew walking through tu'narath (5 hours 30 minutes) because a. perspective b. architecture design c. for some reason i put a lot of detail into rendering the armour on all the githyanki i drew why on earth did i do that
(its especially painful bc that frame was one of the ones that didnt... feel like an important enough moment in the actual story of the show to be worth capturing the way the wish or even like, endellion is, i just needed to put that there for the storytelling flow or whatever of the animatic itself and it bothered me so much)
one other interesting little mishap was that i did all of these on canvas size 1080x720px (so that's why the youtube resolution isnt particularly high lmao) which is why procreate let me put an absolutely absurd amount of layers in one canvas (all 8 frames of with memories projected on the astral sea were done on one canvas. 159 layers) because the layer limit for that canvas size is 400 BUT. i accidentally started the starry apparition fade on an A4 canvas (my default canvas size for like all my normal fanart) and i only realised after finishing all the lineart and starting on colouring because i hit layer limit so i had to resize the canvas which did... interesting?? things to the lineart resolution
also if youre wondering how i drew K-LB that many times in something resembling timely fashion the answer is i sacrificed some... amount of sleep to 3d model and rig him in blender which. honestly? i consider it a roaring success
splitting the frames by bar was a Choice and certainly a choice ive.. had doubtsTM about but thats the kind of thing you cant really change without bringing the whole project crashing down so if the frames seem to move a bit too fast im so sorry there was really not much i could do there
idk if people actually noticed the very very tiny drawings of the crew moving around on the ship in the 4th line especially since they sometimes get obscured by the subtitles but the REASON for that is in my original drawings the subtitles went in the top left corner but they kept conflicting with other stuff so i just gave up and threw them to the bottom (also i originally included the chinese lyrics but then i got lazy lmao)
anyway that little detail like VR-LA angstily looking at the sea reminiscing about the JourneyTM and the crew sort of appearing along with the memories of their adventures together was one of those things that seemed SO COOL in my head but once i actually execute it its like. hmmmm not sure if that worked out the way you thought it would buddy. also the tiny crew was EXTREMELY hard to draw so put that down as another point in 'me subjecting myself to deeply painful and out there compositions for no good reason'
anyway i called this my magnum opus but i do actually have some thoughts about another one (a companion piece, if you will) for another song by the same band because now that i know what capcut can do im.. really itching to try something a little different because this like powerpoint presentation style? fully a product of me using iMovie as my only available video editing software for the past like 7 years of my life

side order (what could have been) is kinda mid but side order (what we ultimately got) is an undeniably fun, addicting, and fresh new take on the splatoon formula that i can only hope is expanded upon more
real shit tho if there's anything in splatoon that would benefit from updates the most it'd be side order
this gamemode's approach to storytelling is dogwater but everyone already knows that by now
the music is some of the best in the entire series only rivaled by like octo expansion i guess...the new 8ball/infinity ball music is just heavenly and the boss music is all top NOTCH
pearl drone is broken in a way that makes the game less fun but thankfully its optional

achievements? for like dumb shit. like "no vending machines" or "only zones floors" and stuff like that
why is the hub world so barren there's nothing to do except talking to 2 npcs which are just shops. put some other stuff in there
please give us a way to influence what chips we get in a run without having it tied to the weapon we use...

okie dokie back to tfbw posting! i just finished my first playthrough (it took me 19.5 hours lawl) i absolutely missed a shit ton of side quests and stuff in the game, but my first playthrough of games i always do blind with no walkthrough so i can experience it raw
im definitely gonna do a second run through of the game, this time with a guide to fill in any gaps i missed on my first playthough! i probably wont be getting 100 percent cuz thats wayyy too much effort but whatever
overall i really, really enjoyed it! i think i prefer tsot just a little bit more, since i like the gameplay and story flow a little more (i got lost way more often with what exactly i had to do/what i could do in tfbw) but i LOVED the combat system like way more than i was expecting in the first place. i think tsot has a beat out a little bit in that regard too, but thats just because i prefer slightly more casual gameplay over high-strategy gameplay.
i did about 80% of the battles with scott malkinson LMFAO as soon as i got him as a playable chr he never left my roster unless it was a fight that forced him out of my party lmfao. hes just too good i loved him. near the end my party was almost always stan scott and alternating jimmy and cartman. i was really excited about clyde because i love health drain moves/chrs but he kept fucking dying no matter what i did so he got booted LMFAO
but seriously i LOVE the combat system. its really fun and it really made me think super hard on some fights. spoilers for some of the fights up ahead i just wanna talk about them..
the towlie fight was really fun, i just kept cartman on fire the entire battle and made him run around. i felt kinda bad but it worked really well since he’s kind of a tank
all the battles with that stupid timer stressed me the fuck out since im not super good at split second decisions (so like some of the battles in maphestos lab and the eldrich god fight) but it was still fun to do.
the story was pretty good! i was never bored playing, confused sometimes yes but never bored. near the end i got a little fucked up with all the time jumping and i kinda lost the plot but once i got my bearings back i thought it was a pretty well done segment.
i wish there were more fast travel flags. the map is way bigger than in tsot so idk why they didnt add MORE fast travel flags. (there are 12 fast travel locations in tsot and 11 in tfbw if i recall correctly) i thought i was going insane. i think 3 hours of my total gameplay time was just like walking around.
TLDR i really enjoyed it! i think there are definitely some improvements that could be made but overall 8/10 i will be replaying to get my 45 dollars worth of gameplay out of it. what ive learned is that i love scott malkinson more than life itself and he’s awesome

I don’t mind going more in-depth with my thoughts on Virche!! I’ll give my general opinion and also try to break it down by category and individual characters while trying to keep it as spoiler free as possible, with some vague allusions to events in each character’s route. Under the cut for length ^_^
As a caveat, Yves is locked until you finish Mathis, Lucas and Scien (can be done in any order), and La Salut (Ankou/Adolphe) is locked until you finish Yves.
Recommended route order (in terms of plot progression): Mathis -> Lucas -> Scien -> Yves -> La Salut (Ankou/Adolphe)
My personal favorite characters (ranked from favorite to least): Mathis, Lucas, Yves, Ankou, Scien, Adolphe
Overall: I actually really enjoyed my play through of Virche and I would recommend it to people if they enjoy angst/having to play bad endings first. It’s the first otome game in a while that I had so much fun with that I ended up playing it for 12 hours straight!!! I would rank it up there with games like code:realize, cxm and cafe enchante (in fact, the main scenario writer for CE is the same one for Virche… and you can really tell lmao). I had some minor complaints in regard to writing and character choices, but overall, I would rank it 8/10!
Music: The music was very gorgeous! The OP in general was so good I would listen to it every time I opened up the game, letting the opening video play in full, haha. I found myself going to the soundtrack list so I could replay some of the songs.
UI: I feel like otomate has gotten a lot better with UI. I love the “skip to unread section” feature, the flow chart, and the scene list! It made it easier to keep track of what I had to finish (bc I am a completionist), and the flow chart even tells you if a section has an unread piece of dialogue. The design of virche in general was pretty and neat, and never felt overwhelming or distracting. I wish there were afterstories, or bonus content, but that’s just a personal preference. I wanted something to soothe the angst, haha.
Voice acting: Listen. I’m one of those people who love to skip voice acting before they finish speaking because I read faster than the characters talk. However, the VAs (ignoring the fact some of my favorite actors were on there) really knocked it out of the park. I would replay some of the emotionally charged scenes just to hear the actors scream their lines!! The acting really helped to bring the characters to life!
Art: I’ll be real. I don’t think I would have liked virche quite as much if Yomi wasn’t the artist for it. Her art is gorgeous, hands down. I honestly open the game again just to stare at the CGs for Lucas and Mathis!! I was also pleasantly surprised to see that the characters blinked and their mouths moved in time to the voice acting. My only complaint is that outside of a few CGs, a lot of the ones for individual routes felt… very similar, at least in terms of the fact they always seemed to be static waist-up poses for the LIs, haha.
Plot: The mystery and suspense were extremely gripping, and I was impressed by how most things fit together. I also noticed all of the routes tended to have the fluffier and sweeter moments in the beginning of the chapter before it transitioned to angst and horror and started throwing issues at the characters as fast as it could. My only issues here were the way some of the science logic didn’t quite make sense and made me go “I don’t think it works like that…” though I was willing to suspend my disbelief because the writing was strong enough. Additionally, the good endings sometimes felt more like after thoughts, the way bad endings in most otome tend to feel, and some of them just didn’t provide enough cope for me.
Ceres: Ceres felt like her own character, with her own motivations and personality! I don’t like self-inserting into otome protagonists, so I always appreciate it when they can stand on their own. I think her motivations and development made a lot of sense considering her circumstances!
Mathis: My absolute favorite character because I adore the shy bookworm trope and he was so cute and sweet. I admit the romance felt a bit rushed, but his dynamic with Ceres was adorable. I also felt like aspects of his plot could have been changed to make it run a bit more smoothly for me. I feel like the writers didn’t like Mathis, or knew what to do with him sometimes, and his particular skill set could definitely have been more relevant/they could have made him a bit more involved in the other routes. Additionally, there was a character in his route I simply despised and I hated how the writers tried to redeem them. Some thematic elements of his route could have been elaborated on/carried through some more.
Lucas: Lucas is my other favorite, though I feel like he’s a bit more of a controversial choice in that regards due to certain… reasons. His route definitely felt the most horrific and tragic, but similar to Mathis, I felt like the romance was rushed, or at least needed more development. I didn’t get why Lucas liked Ceres, though I could see why she liked him. His route definitely could have benefitted from more time or even an extra chapter, and some scenes should have been extended instead of being left in summary. Certain thematic elements didn’t quite carry through either.
Scien: Scien is THAT bitch and he’s the most popular character for a reason. His writing was definitely the most solid out of the initial routes, with the plot and romance progressing smoothly without feeling too rushed or like it was dragging. I loved his development and his endings really tied up the thematic elements introduced in his route in a satisfying way. He’s really fun, even if he’s not my favorite!
Yves: Yves is super sweet! He has a bit of a longer route than the others, but I loved his character a lot. He’s definitely the one I think suits Ceres the most, and I loved his development and his motivations. The endings were satisfying, and the way he subverts typical tropes had me SCREAMING. It was so delightful and cunty of him, and I think when the plot kicked up, it kicked UP and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!
La Salut (Ankou/Adolphe): The beginning of the route felt liked it dragged a bit especially because it was rehashing the common route, and I admit, I wasn’t quite sold on Adolphe as a romantic interest and character until much later in the route. I did love Ankou a lot, and I cried several times when I was playing this route. It’s the final route so it ties together all of the plot points in previous routes and introduces answers to overarching mysteries in a really satisfying way, I believe. There are several tropes here that I particularly adore (and can’t mention for spoiler reasons), and I think it was a fitting end to virche!

i think about scenarios a lot in my head so idk if this is a good answer for this, but I think a lot about hopefully getting to make money to be independant and get gender affirmative care in the future. Ive wanted it for years and it feels impossible, but i hope it can happen sometime soon because i really need it.

Also ive been thinking about lotr / middle earth lore a lot recently cause i started listening to the audio book and ive been watching youtube videos on it, and ive been thinking of how id explain that stuff to people if i talked about it, also thinking of how i might run a game of dnd in the future and how to do that and how crazy tolkeins worldbuilding is and imagining if my worldbuilding could be anywhere near as good as what he did in his lifetime and if i could ever accomplish even a fraction of what he did

i BIG TIME associate BotW/TotK Zelda with the entire of F+tM Ceremonials (Deluxe uber super edition) , ive been saying this for a couple of years ..
partly because i just feel it in my soul, partly because all F+tM music makes me think of LoZ in some form, partly because i quote "rediscovered" my love for the album when i replayed BotW a couple years back, and partly because just listen to the songs and tell me im wrong lol
and i really wanna string along like almost a ?? tracklist art to all of them ?? ill get there
but in regards to that moment it confirmed 100% that zelda really the light dragon in the last tear ?? i had been guessing for a while but fuck that hit me hard, and i DO need to make art for that moment but as much as i like ... feel that Landscape (the demo track) would fit with it, i feel there are other things i COULD do with it, because that song especially right now for me just IS HER ??
now, the same also applies to a fair few London Grammar songs and especially now at least to Lose Your Head

i know ive whined about this before but since people are talking about vault start values for GB and brazil and italy and how important they are for the team score now that TF is wide open, its on my mind again:
its fucking ridiculous that vault is scored the way it is, both in terms of d score and the e score
D score issues:
the original open-ended code in 2006 had 10 skills counting for the other 3 events' difficulty scores, and when they brought it down to 8 for 2009-12 the vault SV were never adjusted
they were reduced by 0.4-0.5 after they god rid of the dismount CR on the other events after 2016
but the original ratings relative to expected/average difficulty of entire routines on the other 3 events was never addressed
its an INJUSTICE ! knock them all down by 2 or 3 tenths AGAIN.
E score issues:
it is plainly ridiculous that the same general execution faults on the other 3 events apply at the same value to vault
why is falling on a beam dismount, after an entire 80-90 second routine of 7+ skills, the same deduction as falling on your ass on a vault? or even a low chest or big step on landing, for that matter?
vault is more than just landings, yes i agree, but the landing is literally half of it at least lmao. im too lazy to do the exact breakdown of maximum possible pre-flight and block deductions vs max possible post flight and landing deductions, but i can guarantee that the latter carries much much more weight. especially getting into how pre-flight deductions are very rarely taken at the level they deserve to be for people doing very difficult vaults. (thats not even necessarily the fault of the code i think its mostly just human psychology tbh and the fact that judges arent allowed slo-mo replay video in real time while theyre judging. because if you see a shitty paseka starfish entry in real time and then the post flight is even worse then ur brain is going to hone in on all the faults of the latter and not hammer the former) (especially bad considering that the pre-flight being egregiously bad and the post-flight being super clean, or vice versa, is crazy unlikely)
and my last point, related to the one above, i have to consult the CoP for this [i wont bc this is just a tumblr post im making off the cuff lol] but isnt there a maximum E score deduction you can take on vaults with no major pre-flight deductions (such as a 1 hand block à la skinner) ? if there is then that needs to go away because for all the reasons above that is mathematically fucking stupid
i rest my off-the-cuff case but my bottom line is:
WHYYYY, in a TF that is shaping up to be SO closely contested (in a battle of mediocrity), is this a battle of vault start values? this isnt NCAA where a FTY is a 9.950 and its a question of quarter tenths. and this isnt the former 10.0 elite code where every event was capped at 10 for some semblance of parity.
why, at the end of the day, is vault difficulty STILLLL the difference maker? why has it been literally 16 years since we switched to the open ended system, and 13 years since it went from 10 skills to 8, and we haven't fixed this yet?
and we dont even have stupidly high bars scores to match it like there were in 2007 and 2008 lmao
