I am begging you to tell me about mnmoms Morgan 🙏

i feel like ive talked a LOT about morgan specifically for this au, she is my main blorbo and punching bag forever <3 and as much as i love to beat a dead horse, theres only so many times i can talk about her fridged wife montages about glenn. so, i figured id specifically talk about an aspect of morgan ive been thinking about lately - her relationship with samantha! the besties of all time :]

morgan and samantha are the only moms who are friends pre-forgotten realms, and they are in fact, best friends! samantha has had a long history of latching onto morgan because she is meta levels of aware of their parallel backstories and she desperately wants morgan to get therapy about it. morgan is not having it in the slightest, but she does really love samantha so she lets her get away with it. samantha is actually why morgan is on the soccer carpool at all, since samantha goaded her into it "so it wont just be me and a bunch of random guys!" (yes i have specific reasons why each of the moms are here instead of the dads LOL). morgan usually just drives nick, she takes all of his soccer trips off, but is a little entranced by the idea of hanging out with samantha for a few hours and also the vodka coolers sammy promised her at the game, so she agrees. and then everything goes wrong and morgan tries really hard and fails to not blame samantha for it :')

as stated, they're best friends, but they do tend to argue, a trait that mostly starts to crop up in the realms (the added stress kind of kills morgan's already short temper haha). morgan is prone to arguing with Literally Everyone, and samantha isnt an exception. however, she is also prone to bursting into tears after every argument LOL morgan is a very emotional character and she really doesnt like fighting with samantha in particular, sammy is a soft spot for her. so morgan and samantha spend a good amount of time with samantha riling morgan up, morgan snapping in response, and both of them crying. carol is absolutely sick of them and mercedes finds it really sweet LMAO

in more general notes: they first met because nick and terry went to the same preschool, but only became friends after glenn passed, and only became best friends after terry senior also passed. samantha and morgan are the type of middle-aged woman friends to call each other pet names, mostly "sweetheart", "babe", etc <333 samantha does call morgan her girlfriend and then gets confused why people dont understand that theyre platonic friends. morgan is more socially aware but still calls samantha her girlfriend because it annoys nick beyond all belief. the close family spends a lot of time at the stamplers' house in general pre-realms, post-realms as well really. morgan is the only person samantha really lets herself get upset around (besides ron!) and is a rare person for samantha to go to for comfort rather than the other way around :')

watched the first two episodes of oshi no ko a while back (REALLY FUCKING GOOD, ive been a manga reader for a while but i stopped reading the recent chapters and basically forgot everything except for the major points and god it’s so satisfying to have the adaptation remind me of what i’ve forgotten in the most beautiful way possible)

but this post isnt about onk, it’s about izaya!! izaya orihara!! lets fucking goooooooooo izaya idol au!!!! i cant get this flea out of my BRAIN

i was about to open a new canvas to draw some more shizaya stuff for my animatic that im never gonna finish and i was like huh. maybe i should draw onk fanart. and then i remembered this art of venti genshin impact with ai’s eyes and i remembered thinking man i hope this becomes an artist trend for people to do with their art blorbos! and then i was like OH. guess i could contribute to the trend by drawing izaya with ai’s eyes

and then i started thinking and i was like huh. Ai’s never experienced love from her parents, doesn’t think she knows how to love or how to express it, doesn’t get attached to others easily, is a perpetual liar, became an idol because she hoped she would learn how to love - oh hey doesnt. that. sound like izaya. just a little bit. not exactly, her character goes into more learning how to love/that she can love while izaya’s character is i can love but only impersonally because i’m afraid of getting hurt and his arc would be learning to let his walls down for his own good

SO for izaya idol au, izaya would become an idol because he wants to experience love, or something along the lines of “there’s no greater demonstration of parasocial love and foolish decision making than in the idol industry! ahaha~” and probably “idols are perfect liars and i need to put myself into their shoes so i can become an even better liar and close myself off to any possibility of falling in love that could ever exist”

there’s a lot of reasons he might want to become an idol, really. there’s so much corruption and behind-the-scenes dealing and lies and facades and shit in the entertainment industry that i think izaya would eat for breakfast. he would LOVE witnessing that shit and making his own shady deals and stuff and occasionally ruining lives and watching people rise and fall down the rankings and tear each other down. plus the people who are in it for passion rather than money are fascinating as well. psychology student’s dream really- i mean what this is definitely about izaya and not me projecting

plus he definitely has the looks for it (narita would hard agree given how many times he’s indirectly called izaya attractive through other characters. we love a canonically hot king)

now i need to make everything shizaya because i’m not okay but i have no idea who shizuo would be lmao

like you could make him some up and coming manager (no age difference stuff here sorry lmao) or a fellow idol (doubtful. shizuo can act cute but i dont think he could dance) or an actor like akane/kana or a streamer??? like memcho (my favorite character)

a mangaka/screenplay writer/writer in general could also work but i feel like you’d have less reason to interact with idols that way

idk how japanese idol groups work for men in particular or if there’s even like a market for that :sob: id have to look into that if i actually started making stuff for this au

alternatively izaya crossdresses as a female idol and somehow no one realizes. except for shizuo. that would be hilarious actually. he refuses to do swimsuit modeling or other provocative stuff and his fans are like “oh?? the brazen kanra-chan is unexpectedly shy?? how cute” and he plays into it but inwardly he’s like. god i know exactly how im gonna go out with a bang when i retire. and shizuo watches him playing at being shy on tv knowing that that motherfucker is planning to strip on his last days as an idol

anyway this is just me spitballing ideas but ill definitely write at least a concept/intro fanfic of this at some point so stay tuned lmAo im just about to run out of writing juices on ABAON so i gotta transfer my energy somewhere else and where better than the idol!izaya au

brooo do you have a laz lore master post i wanna see more about this guy . blorbo from my person i follow on tumblr

waaa im so glad u like him!!!!!! his lore is kinda.....scattered all over unfortunately hdsjnkfdjkfn im very unorganized. the main big posts that ive made about him in recent memory that i havent accidentally retconned are here (eternalism bullshit and how the his drifter and operator selves tie into the version we know and love) here (answering a bunch of questions about him) aaaaaaaaaand here (explaining a little bit about how his oculus and void echolocation works)

his tag is kinda sparsely populated cuz a lot of his character building has been happening behind the scenes and i havent shared much due to being forgetful as hell and for the longest time sorta just assuming nobody cared about him but me lmao BUT i can give you a rundown of everything ive got so far: (it's gonna be long, sorry in advance)

on the zariman, he was separated from the other kids and ended up hiding in a ventilation shaft to avoid the adults. he hid so well, in fact, that the orokin actually almost missed him entirely and nearly left him there when they were collecting the tenno after the void jump. he was so paralyzed by fear and pain that at first, they had assumed he was a corpse, and only realized otherwise when he freaked the hell out and blew a massive hole through the poor bastard they sent to go drag him out of the vents.

in the aftermath of the zariman and for most of the old war, he was sort of just... squirreled away and treated more like a feral animal than a kid. he was jumpy and uncooperative, his connection to the void was strong enough that he could do some serious damage when startled, and he didn't remember most of his life before the zariman incident at all, so he was difficult to reason with and in their eyes a waste of time. he didn't even remember his own name, so they called him 'Lazarus' as a reference to the fact that he was assumed to be dead when first recovered, and seemed to be pretty good at surviving against the odds. eventually he just accepted this as his name.

im not entirely sure if margulis knew about him or not... i feel as though she would want to help him, but he probably wouldn't trust her one bit. ive been tempted to go all in and say he couldve been the tenno who accidentally blinded her, which would lend credence to why the orokin felt the need to isolate him so thoroughly from everyone else, but i dont know if im gonna commit to that. as far as being a 'weaponized' tenno, he was treated as sort of a last resort.

he only had the one frame during the old war - he was paired off with a particularly uncooperative umbral ash that they weren't sure would even be able to be 'controlled', but despite most of the handlers assuming theyd tear eachother to shreds, they ended up sharing a really close bond. This ash is his primary frame, Styx! styx is like a father to him, really. they only ever had eachother for a very very long time.

he only ever saw combat once before the war ended. the orokin were getting desperate, and threw pretty much everyone they had at a particular area-- including laz. he had no idea what to do with himself, but he was suddenly outside of his 'room' (more of a holding cell, to be frank) for the first time in years, so he did what any sensible scared kid would do-- he ran for his fucking life. before his handlers realized where he'd gone and tried to interrupt his transference to his frame, he transferred out of his chair completely and essentially escaped for good. they assumed he wouldnt survive on his own and marked it down as a loss, but he was ultimately forgotten. one less little void demon to deal with, really.

he ran for a long time, just sorta trying to get as far away from anything and everything orokin as he possibly could, but too afraid of being recaptured to dare trust anyone he met along the way. at some point before the end of the war, he had a run-in with a lone sentient that cornered him, and he had no choice but to try and defend himself.

he lost this fight. the sentient very much killed him, but in his final moments, all of the void energy trapped inside his body was released like a bomb going off, which killed the sentient pretty much instantly. the implosion also created a weird little pocket void of sorts that pulled in his body and the bits and pieces of the sentient that were left behind. slowly, over the years, the void pieced him back together, replacing whatever was destroyed with pieces of sentient technology, essentially creating the first amalgam.

the entire time laz was in his void coma, styx was helpless to retrieve him. he knew he wasn't gone - he could still feel his presence - but he couldn't get through to him.... so he waited. and waited. and waited some more. eventually, the ruined old building they'd been in all but collapsed, plants began to grow through the foundation, his joints began to rust and his blades tarnished. grineer and corpus and infested alike discovered the place over the years and all were promptly slaughtered in fits of protective rage. by the time another tenno stumbled across his resting place, the old war was ancient history, and the lotus had already located and awakened most of her children-- but laz had never had a chance to form that connection with her. he barely knew margulis, let alone natah.

the tenno who eventually found him and woke him up was none other than @helmofhades' specialest boy Rigel! they have a very special relationship. i love them both deeply. by the time rigel had found him, he'd been mostly put back together-- but the somatic scars on his face had progressed to the point where his eyes were damaged beyond repair. rigel and the other tenno who eventually made up their little clan helped him get back on his feet and adjust to this strange new world he found himself in.

laz and rigel are basically married if it wasnt obvious already. they are boy best friends <3

he went through the main story quest more or less the same as happens in the game, although he never really had a very close connection with the lotus and was more wary of her and confused by her for than anything for a very long time-- at least until the new war, anyway

the drifter and the operator are two separate entities - but there's also a third, completely separate laz who is basically a conglomerate of all of his alternate selves. i call this special third guy 'laz prime' to make life easier for myself, but neither of them are any more 'real' than the others.

operator laz is him but in babymode. nothing much else to that. hes just a little guy, and its his birthday, hes a little birthday boy!!!

drifter laz i uh... kinda havent touched on much. im waiting for duviri to drop so i can really get into the nitty gritty of all the time loop bullshit. hes kinda a bitter asshole though. not that i blame him.

laz prime is the funny guy i post about so much!!!! after the cutscene in the new war where the drifter and operator meet, neither of those two actually LEAVE that dormizone, at least not in the version of reality we see-- their meeting causes laz prime to just sorta... start existing! he remembers being both of them, although only vaguely. it's him who finishes the quest, and it's him who eventually returns to the zariman for the angels update and all that fun stuff. im sure driftlaz and oplaz are still out there, doing their own thing, but i havent the slightest clue what that may be.

laz prime is more severely amalgamated than either of his counterparts-- while theyve got the horns, hooves, and claws, laz prime takes it up a notch with an extra set of arms and a tail! he's also absurdly huge.

he has a cane to help with the mobility issues caused by having to balance on those teeny tiny itty bitty stick legs-- it's actually a little sentient! he calls it a mobilyst. it's his little buddy. i really like it

laz prime can't really use amps in the traditional way, considering his sentient parts react very poorly to large concentrations of void energy. he pieces together makeshift weapons with cores and fragments he scavenges from other sentients or amalgams that he kills to make up for it. he can also breathe void-fire, but he doesn't do that very often because it singes his scruffy little beard :( love loses

his lack of ability to effectively channel amps makes him VERRRY very interested in traditional weaponry. he's especially fond of incarnons-- JUST because theyre cool weapons. no other reason. none at all. unrelated, but do you think cavalero likes men? asking for a friend.

but YES my darling addison... addison is actually one of my oldest ocs that i still use today!!! i created them in like.... 2016... wrow.....

anyway addison wasn't originally made for any wip specifically, but then one day i had a brain blast and decided to make a specific wip for them.

so uhhh addison! yes! i need to brush up a little on my research but one thing that i think is kinda neat with addison is that they are... incredibly casual about their witchcraft. what exactly do i mean by that? WELL!!!

essentially they just. they don't take it super seriously. a lot of the other witches they know are really uptight and insist everything has to be done Very Properly, meanwhile addison's like "fuck it lol if it works it works lol this isn't rocket science."

also addison very much does unethical and dangerous magic just for fun and to see if they can do it. their honestly really blase approach to magic might come off as laziness, but really it's a matter of the fact that addison is just. so fucking confident in their own abilities that they know they can do it without following the rules exactly.

plus, addison's more casual approach to magic actually gives them a lot of freedom in how they use it--unlike other witches they know, for example, addison can actually use magic in combat if they have enough prep time. it also has,,, some downsides, unfortunately,,,,,,,, addison's magic use has an effect on them that they're not completely aware of yet at the time of the story :3c

maybe at some point i'll explain more how magic n' such works for this 'verse but sadjfkl; yeah <3

ok so. you might remember the evil ski team the grandma had to fight but. do you remember keith? bc I DO. hes forced to change his name to boris in the middle of the movie bc boingo thinks keith is not scary enough as a name ok pls imagine the name keith in the thickest german accent bc thats what made it so unbelievably funny to my brother and me the rabbit is like "Keeefs you need to change your name" and the fact that his new name is boris only adds to it all since boris was probably the second funniest name to my brother and me right after rüdiger (started w ice age 3 and holds up to today thanks to several german memes w that name involved) basically my brother and me reference this name changing ritual to eachother to this day keith gone but not forgotten but also we would never deadname him boris is also very funny to us also he was yellow and hand the tiktok eboy haircut but in the early 2000s way

the lumberjack ofc!!! idk if he had a name and idc in the german dub hes the lumberjack ONLY so. ofc this character is supposed to be german and likely had a german accent in the original. so now the german dub faced the age old problem of how to make this funny in german too and they made the biggest brain decision ever and made im north german. so let me explain the "stereotypical" german character they used here looks very south german to germans (read bavarian) like lederhosen those funny little hat thats all from the south so their decision to have him dressed like that but only as part for his method to get into character for the nose drops add he wanted to be in does so much MORE than the original joke of him being german (im guessing ive never seen this movie in english) the english equivalent of this would be having a cowboy but he has a new york accent or smth

everything that happened to him in this movie qualifies him as a poor little meow meow im sorry but i make the rules

the schnitzel song was very funny to german kids even tho we regularly ate schnitzel its simply a funny word and the way his song just starts w him scream schniiiiittzeeeelll was ofc very funny to imitate at the dinner table

boingo i like his character design and all but the way his big plan is to built a monopoly and blow up the forest:/ do you guys remember when capitalists were still allowed to be villians in childrens movies good times good times so yea im sending him down the plinko but i do like him as a villian if only his motivations was to deprivatize the baking sector instead he might have gotten into superhell but well....

also bonus but his german va is in a bit of a pickle rn bc hes part of a big datamining scandal on germany so id say spot on casting!

Gribbob. Gribbly. Grabbab. My little Grimble. My dearest Gropper! The absolute unit that is mr. Grippip. My good time goblin boy and the queen of bitch fits! Give it up for: GRIZZOP DRIK ACHT AMSTERDAM. Ive even got a tattoo in his memory (and another booked in two weeks because his little goblin hands have just clamped onto my jugular and will not let go!)

Contestant number two is of course, you’ve guessed it; VESSEEK! nonbinary icon, throwing shapes and swords while still raising six kids and making that house a home, honestly stunning. No one does it better. But in all seriousness, them (and Cel 💜) being in my life has really helped me gain confidence in exploring my own gender and be a non-binary baddie.

3. scrimblo bimbo (underrated/ underappreciated fave)

I know we all love him but i feel he gets forgotten a lot (even happened in campaign when Alex just forgot he was there half the time) but Edward Keystone is a goddamn treasure and is a scrimblo bimbo HIMBO!! Too pure for this world and so fucking stupid. I just want to take him rockpooling at the beach and buy him a flake 99.

4. glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won't shut up about it for a week)

Well this technically should have been Vesseek because they only say like five things in the campaign but since ive screamed about them already, i shall scream about EINSTEIN. Absolute babe. I love him to death, hes so gentle and funny and i just want to wrap him in a blanket and keep him safe from the world. The part about him in epilogue three was the part to break me into literal sobs over the whole campaign. Im a tough bitch and dont cry easily (its the trauma;)) but Einstein working on those toys til the day he died just because it was a nice thing to do had me wailing! God he was the best.

Im going to get shit thrown at my head for this, but Bertie. Absolutely loved him, my little meow meow. The day i listened to his death i was on a bus home from attending my first Pride march and i dont know how Alex planned it but that was a specifically homophobic attack on me. My poor meow meow, he just wanted to be covered in honey and licked by handsome twinks!

Ummmm i think Tesla actually. What he did to Sumutnyerl was a very big fuck boy move and i dont think he really properly apologised to them for how he manipulated her feelings to gain access to holy land and violate it. I know he got fucking ripped to shreds but i still think he needs some reflection time in the plinko.

Please note I’m going off the books I’ve read (Lady of Rivers, White Queen, Red Queen, Kingmaker’s Daughter, Three Sisters Three Queens), and tv adaptations I’ve seen (White Queen, White Princess). This is not a reflection of my opinions of the real life historical figures. Also note that I read some of these books like 4 years ago so I have forgotten lots.

This one was so hard to decide, but I have to go with Richard III (TWQ tv). He’s my favourite WOTR hist-fig, and I guess that makes me biased. I know that’s kind of breaking my own rules, but I couldn’t think of anyone else.

I don’t know if this counts, but I wanted to talk about this for a week after I found it out from reading Three Sisters, Three Queens.

Margaret Tudor had James V with her first husband James IV of Scotland. He then had Mary Queen of Scots. With her second husband Archibald Douglas, she had Margaret Douglas, who in turn was mother of Henry, Lord Darnley. Darnley and Mary QoS had James VI & I. That makes Margaret Tudor the paternal and maternal great-grandmother of James VI.

It was very fun slowly piecing that together reading the book (one of the only enjoyable parts tbh)

Margaret Beaufort (Red Queen), specifically because of how un-self-aware she is. It made reading the book so infuriating. Also Richard III when he starts sleeping with his niece. Straight to superhell!
