Something I love about Genshin is that it has this subtle post-apocalyptic type world healing from disaster. There's just something beautiful about how even when the world has ended, again and again, in the end there will always be...mint

I'd lower the world in a flood / Or better yet I'd cause a drought.

Is it just me who just cannot understand the theory that all of the ghosts will be sucked off at the end of the show?

The only ghost that has moved on in the show has been Mary, with the six saying that this was largely because Katy wanted to leave the show to do other things. They've also said that the rules behind moving are is that 1) it could happen at any time 2) beyond some unspecified healing of unsettled trauma there is little to no know reason as to why moving on happens.

This means that the idea of "sucking off" furthers the show's credibility as an allegory for life; no one knows how much time they have left.

So why would it make sense for all of the ghosts to move on when its seemingly a very random occurrence? Especially within the realms of the show where the whole concept has always been about a group of people stuck in the in-between forever. So why undo that in the final act?

The show begins with Mike and Alison moving into the house bringing excitement and new possibilities for the ghosts, but they will eventually leave and the ghosts will be left alone, again. Think of things in regards to Robin's timescale. He has been in purgatory for millions of years. Mike and Alison are nothing but a blip for him, a passing obsession. They arrive and then they leave, and the ghosts remain stuck where they are.

re:hbomberguy, on the topic of citing sources, i want to say:

it is insane how many people on here don't even click the sources op links on their own post to learn more and just hit reblog saying "oh my i didn't know about this thank you for teaching me!". like guys CLICK THE LINK!! CHECK THE NOTES!!! CHECK THE SOURCE!.... i swear half the time the link is dead or takes you to a nonsense page (i see this a lot with art specifically???? and excerpts from magazines??) and some times the linked source disproves a claim the very post that linked it made and people just. don't bother to check, no one bothers to even reblog saying "hey that link is dead! here's a new, working link!" or "hey that link doesn't work, can you link the source again?" and when it comes to misinformation people just share without checking or looking at the notes where numerous people will (in the best case scenario) already be pointing out the misinformation

"OH BUT I CAN'T CHECK EVERYTHING I SEE ON THE INTERNET" there is a surefire way to prevent spreading this kind of stuff even if you don't have the time to fact check immediately. just accept it's fine to save a post for later if you can't look deeper into it right now!!!!! literally just reblog it in private or save the post as a draft so you can come back to it later and check. it won't kill you and in fact it will actually make your life a lot better lol

i definitely agree that everyone is fixating on the more comfortable for white people version of the historical narrative where scotland is a helpless victim and did not do anything wrong. i think painting any place in one color is doing it and everyone it touched a disservice: especially in a context as huge as the colonization of the world by europe, which itself was colonized so thoroughly over and over and by and to itself that many places have no remnants of the cultures that predated such colonization. there should be more awareness and talk about scotland's active role in the colonization of the british empire. scots were the ahead troops sent to colonize america after their colonization of ireland. scots participated in slave trade, scots participated in the colonization of india, scots made lots of money off of human suffering. but i also do not think it is particularly useful to just flip the binary and say "they are not victims, they are perpetrators!" because they, like most perpetrators, are both.

colonialism is cyclical abuse. colonialism perpetuates itself by obliterating culture and creating a void that eats whatever it can reach. colonizers colonize and then the colonized often do what was done to them to everyone else. it is abused children becoming abusive parents and it is victim-perpetrator singularity. i dont think collapsing anything to either or is useful.

i think ideological nuance and understanding of the twofold truth here is essential to seeking ways to provide practical retribution, to create real healing, and to accomplish any decolonization at all.
