Corruption!Jing Yuan being obvious to everyone but you, because he's a master manipulator of his surroundings and he makes sure your opinion of him doesn't waver, but that poor bastard that tried to approach you during the meeting? One Look from Jing Yuan and he made a u-turn so fast he slammed his face against the door on the rush to get away. You were very confused. The people around you... not so much. His glare is scary.
Jing Yuan just wanting to nap and he's thinking of pestering you so you can nap together but the moment he sees you're sad or in a bad mood he switches instantly, because even if he wants to be spoiled he's not that much of a brat. Emphasis on "that much". So what does he do? He silently picks you up, because he's Tall and Strong and now your feet don't reach the floor. You know this game, so you give up instantly knowing flailing around won't do anything, in fact it will only attract attention and you're not up for that. You're tired and grumpy and now going to rest and You're Going To Like It. You get to be the spoon you prefer, too, so it's not so bad (it's heavenly, actually. His hair smells incredible, too. You wake up in a better mood. Fu Xuan's eyes narrow as you walk down the hall, skipping some steps with a big grin on your face. Then she spots Jing Yuan walking behind you, with also a dopey smile, and she fakes a gag. Eugh.)
Mer!Neuvillette leaving conches on the shore for you to spot and pick up, also via the little otters. The little furballs appear everywhere in Fontaine to give you stuff as messengers. Everyone knows you're the Hydro Dragon's favourite. Some are envious, some are curious and some cheer you on. The blue shell that marks you as the Hydro Dragon's shines beautifully over your chest, and while you might be getting more conches and shells as gifts, not one is a match for it.
Jing Yuan with shapeshifter reader who turns into a bird just to sneak inside his office and pull on his hair to bother him as revenge for his clinginess, because when you're the one working he drapes over you like a big cat wanting attention and "Yuan, I need to work." "You can finish that later. I only have fifteen minutes left before Yanqing comes looking for me. Please?" And you can't say no, damn him. Now you can tug on his ear as revenge. Get him.

Have you seen this childhood show: Octonauts (2010-Present), United Kingdom and Ireland (English, was dubbed in many other languages)
Commentary/Context/Memories:
First user commentary: I loved this show as a kid, both me and my best friends neurodiversity latched onto it as young kids and we aren’t as obsessed about it now, but is still one of the kid shows that we will gladly watch with our younger siblings. gotta love shows that are a bit more subtle educational shows. i still remember so many facts lmao
Second user commentary: Shout out to this show for getting me interested in vehicle design! I mean- LOOK at the OCTOPOD. That was the coolest thing I ever saw as a child and it’s still the coolest thing I’ve seen today.

[Mod A: According to the wikipedia, this show is like a kids version of Star Trek or the Thunderbirds (in terms of the exploration and educational factor), which is pretty cool! It was about an underwater crew made of eight members (all with their own special skill sets) who use fictional high tech machines to explore the ocean. While the machines and the Octopod (their home base) is fictional (so far), the actual environments they explore (like the Great Barrier Reef) and the animals they meet (like the whale shark) are very real! The cast comprises of Barnacles (Polar Bear, Captain), Kwazii (Cat, Lieutenant/Cryptozoologist), Peso (Penguin, Medic), Prof. Inkling (Dumbo Ocotpus, Founder/Oceanographer), Dr. Shellington (Sea Otter, Biologist), Tweak (Rabbit, Engineer), Dashi (Dachshund, Computer Programmer/Photographer) and Tunip (Vegimal, Chef). I was heavy into marine biology (as well as Astronomy) as a kid, so if this show came out earlier, I would’ve been really into it, particularly since it was quite educational and provided interesting facts about the ocean and the animals that live there. Dr. Shellington (the sea otter) probably would’ve been my favourite, bc that’s my favourite marine animal <3]

ykw. im not done. shogun steel furries pt. 2: dna boogaloo edition™
1. Yoshio is a moose!! big, strong guy with an intimidating aura who CAN fuck you up but is very protective and loyal to people he loves. wolves are also one of the few predators of moose, emphasizing how kira is one of the few people yoshio will follow. also imagining eight as a little otter pup going up against this huge moose guy is so funny yet scary. pray for him i dont think he's gonna make it 🥲
2. Genjuro is a snapping turtle!! dont have a specific species for him, so im just keeping him as a generic snapping turtle. i originally had turtle as a placeholder animal for him (since genbu is a turtle) cause i feel like there are animals that fit him better, but the more i thought on it the more i got attached to turtle genjuro 😌. in the metal furry universe i imagine he uses his toothpick thing as a way to hold back from biting the other dna bladers lmao
3. Captain Arrow is a bat!! i imagine him specifically as a ryukyu flying fox but it doesnt matter that much to me. i chose bats because they're very similar to wyverns, plus batman is a superhero and it just felt so perfect (also bat!arrow x turtle!genjuro........ batman x tmnt). arrow is just totally a dude who'd hang upside down for fun lol.
4. Spike is a red kangaroo!! he's shown boxing in multiple scenes so in metal furry he can be a kangaroo kickboxer 💪💪💪i also hc him as Australian so it worked out. spike doesnt have much to his character but i like to think he's a very nurturing guy in his own way, where he constantly reminds people to take care of themselves, albeit kinda aggressively but hey.
5. Baihu is a cat that has tiger stripes painted onto him!! idk how baihu's backstory would work in the metal furry universe maybe he got adopted by a tiger person who lived in solitude away from civilization 🤷. regardless, i feel like him just being a cat and not a tiger fits his backstory way more, though he still believes he is one.
6. Karura is a Brahminy kite!! Garudas is based on Garuda, a Hindu bird deity, which in turn has been linked to kites/eagles. plus with Karura's whole controlling the elements shtick it just makes sense yk. Brahminy kites also have very distinct plumage with a brown-colored body and a white head, it reminded me of Karura's design a lot. maybe he dyes his feathers blue to match the sky 👀

Okay THIS is the question I’ve been hung up on for an hour because damn.
I thought the answer was easy - wizarding world - because who doesn’t want to be a wizard?? But there’s like. So many good options here.
SO my official answer is actually Doctor Who. Which is kinda silly bc it takes place legit on earth?? But I’d just have the ability to be the companion and travel? Like the 11th Doctor IS my comfort character. He makes me feel safe. He makes me feel special and loved and that’s so silly to say out loud lmfao rip but he’s all I had when I was having a rough time like ages 13-17 and so yeah. That’s my final answer. Doctor Who reality.

Too many things. I collect certain coins - mostly diff variations of the quarters. I have a display book that has all of the 50 states series. Then I have a second display book with 49/50 state national parks ((looking for that last one god dammit)) and now I’m collecting the new series of historical women!! And it’s so cool bc the George Washington on the front is a different one than the other quarters! I also have like a silver penny and some other random rare ones from the past that were gifts.
I also collect Featherly Friends birds from Target ☠️ they have me in a chokehold, what can I say?

Chocolate candy bar? Twix. Hands down. But candy in general I actually go for strawberry or cherry sour punch straws. 🤤

Okay, I actually really love a mountain lion for Cyllene?? Bc you're absolutely right on all accounts. Which would make her friendship with Laventon if he was a bunny even more hilarious since mountain lions eat rabbits far more regularly than lions or tigers do. And speaking of hilarious, if we make Laventon a rabbit, that makes two of the tallest characters in the game, both with a similarly hunched posture and often frowning, lagomorphs. Jumbo size rabbits. Wait, would he be a wild rabbit like a cottontail or would he be a domestic one? Asking because lop ears would make his hat easier to wear. And also because I can't decide if it'd be better for him and Ingo to look similar from a distance only to get a "wait, no, what?" reaction from Galaxy folks once they get close enough to see that Ingo is Not a rabbit, or not.
And the worst part is that Ingo doesn't even know why he feels that way. The lack of memories means that he doesn't know why he always feels like something is wrong and he's unsafe or what he could do to make it better. It probably actually gets worse once he becomes a warden and the only safe people around for miles are Melli, Electrode, Sneasler, and maybe some of the Galaxy Team. It might have him sticking very close to Sneasler, at least until he becomes a bit more acclimated to being even more isolated, because he's just so used to using the Buddy System he tries to do it automatically. Does he like his job? Yes. It's it hell on his instincts? Also yes.
Ohhh, okay, that does make sense. So like in this case he'd just be on edge pretty much always, but he doesn't quite compute it so he doesn't really react accordingly until seemingly randomly he'll Panic? His body is going through the stress of being constantly afraid because his brain is throwing out danger signals, but at the same time it's not really registering until it reaches a breaking point he didn't see coming.
The issue there is that his ears are so damn big. Even if he lays them back they just stick out behind him rather than being able to be stuffed down his coat or something. He'd have to like, constantly be wearing the hood on his tunic whenever he's in the Icelands, and it'd probably have to be modified to be extra insulating. Maybe that's part of why they made him a warden. Like they didn't want to just get rid of him, they adopted him and he's theirs now, but like with the reptiles he's just really not suited to the cold and keeping him there is dangerous. Added to him being great with pokemon and Sneasler needing a warden, Irida made it a win-win situation. Not that the highlands are always great in terms of that because of the altitude, but it's leagues better than the Icelands. He looks really dumb with his hood up and hat on and he doesn't like how it folds his ears, but if he loses even more of his ears to frostbite Irida might have to hunt him for sport.
Lmao, okay I can dig Adaman as a frilled lizard. I feel like he'd try really hard not to ever use his frills, and normally he's chill enough never to even want to, but I do like imagining him and Melli being introduced and at some point something prompts him to flare them to which Melli is like, "ah, you're a man of culture, I see. I have decided that we're friends now. Be grateful."
(It's a good thing that the Pearl Clan is all about the worship of the space/land their god has given them so that even if members can't often come back for safety reasons it probably wouldn't feel like as much of a punishment as it might to the Diamond Clan or Galaxy Team. And I know canon doesn't really support it, but I feel like they'd be the ones most likely to travel around so anyone effectively exiled would still be part of their community to some extent when people met up with them.)
How about a goat? You can still shear them like a sheep, but they're a bit more aggressive and independent, and Cabala is rather ornery lol. For Palina I was thinking a sea or northern river otter. With her noble living on an island, I feel like she should be something that can swim as well as live in the cold, and iirc she's supposed to be reminiscent of those drivers who collect pearls in Japan, which sounds ottery to me. Gaeric could be like, a moose or Polar bear or something. For Sabi I was toying with her possibly being a snowy owl, but it'd also be pretty cute if she was a flightless bird that got to fly on her noble (not that any of the other bird anthros can fly I think, unless they want to flap around looking like archeops in more than just their hands, but still.)
i was thinking domestic lop too, actually! for a bonus, the english lop is thought to be one of the oldest domestic rabbit breeds which fits with laventon being from galar. they also have ears long enough to rival a jackrabbit's lol they just go the complete other direction. and cyllene is just so confused but for some reason continues going along with it. dammit he duped her into being friends, how dare he. (would laventon, being a rabbit himself, be one of the most weirded out by ingo's I Guess That Looks Like A Rabbit But What The Fuck-ness? like sort of an uncanny valley? or would he just be like "hello fellow lagomorph!" and think nothing more of it. and it's more the rest of the survey corps that looks between the two of them with increasing confusion)
and the unfortunate thing is, i bet ingo actually outpaces sneasler (who is not really that fast) on flat ground, so if he abruptly decides to take off in a panic she literally can't keep up with him. usually it's not so bad that he isn't still able to make decisions even if he is panicking, and instinct will usually prioritize buddy system, but sometimes something else spooks him or all it registers is that she's a big predator and decides to make him fucking book it away from her. and then her warden's just like, Gone, and also he's clearly not thinking straight and needs help but she can't help him if he runs off and disappears into the hills, ingo get back here dammit-
and obviously that kind of constant stress, on the verge of physical panic even if he isn't actively, is. rrreally not good for you. the uncanniness of seeing a jackrabbit when you're used to arctic/snowshoe hares and rabbits is probably not helped by the fact that even for a jackrabbit he legitimately is way too thin and wide-eyed and constantly tense and breathes too hard and too fast. again that's maybe not something he notices consciously, because he's so checked-out, but it is something other people might pick up on if they see him often enough.
and then, if his clothes are so focused on insulation and he's lost a lot of his heat-dish ears, he's probably pretty prone to overheating when that comes up. if he goes towards the mirelands/coastlands he just like, Can't thermoregulate that well. irida was right, the highlands really are the best place for him. love the thought that the pearl clan worships space so members living far away isn't necessarily viewed as a punishment, i think that's really cute and makes sense.
lol, i feel like adaman will probably flare them a little bit at irida when they're sniping at each other, but that's basically just their version of exchanging pleasantries so it's not really more than a little lift, the only time the protagonist ever sees him full-on display is when melli breaks into his meeting with kamado and he's like WE'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF A CONVERSATION YOU INTERRUPTING CHICKEN. melli, naturally, does not care. (would there be some communication confusion over the fact that frilled lizards use their frills for threat displays but peacocks use their feathers for courtship? or is that just a running joke in their friend group. or does melli actually have the entirely learned habit of doing angry displays that he picked up from adaman, lol)
oh yeah calaba as a goat could work! and gaeric as a polar bear for sure. palina as an otter would also make sense... and then that adds layers to her losing her lord to the ocean, ouch. but then i feel like iscan would also work really well as an otter, hmm... maybe one of them is a river otter and the other one is a sea otter? not sure. or maybe one of them's some kind of seal hmmm.

robo’s rebellion moment made me chuckle, it’s also so sweet that his mom helped familiarize him with the guitar!
i still don’t know what questions to ask so ig this is like another ‘ today i want to talk about [ insert thing here]’ (heck, it can be another 5 of those, however many you need/want)
i guess a question is how did roope find robo and otter? what made them realize that they fit/work together in that way?

i had to marinate and think a Lot on how robo, jake, and roope all meet bc obviously coming from 3 different places there has to be an element of chance but also. i dont wanna go completely batshit lmao. here's an Attempt at explaining my thoughts!!:
otter still goes to college but instead of bu. bc he's not pursuing hockey. he ends up going to ut austin (its a good communications school and he actually has a communications degree like. real life)
he doesnt rlly Love school but he’s figuring out what he wants in life and his parents wanted him to go. so.
robo and him meet at some random ass show in texas, where robo only is bc his family drove over in the rv for a Different show
they dont immediately run off together and play music lol but they do keep in contact via text and calls for a few months, rlly Bond and become super close
robo comes through texas with his family again eventually but theyre not performing in austin this time, just dallas. so jake goes out there to see them
they've kind of vaguely been talking abt forming their own band at this point but obviously there's the distance that both of them are kind of. scared to close on a whim for smthn that might not work. and also they want to get someone who can consistently do lead vocals and play bass etc
anyways. they have a couple free days so they go to random house shows and smaller venues around dallas
roope is in the area bc at this time he's playing in the NAHL but heavily considering dropping hockey for music (he Actually played for bismarck and for like 2 games but. for the au ive decided he played longer for the lone star brahmas lol) and is basically just trying to find out what he's heading for, what he Wants
they see roope performing with a band that is like. Not His but just kind of a random assortment of his friends in the scene fucking around having fun (the house show is at one of his friend's places)
and roope is not. a great singer. he's not professionally trained and amazing. but he has a really fucking unique and cool voice (they will later find out this is bc of his accent and aversion to having a clear throat) so theyre like. heavily heavily intrigued bc they think it could make for a sick sound . in their band. what a coincidence!!
robo. looking like the most average dude ever. walks up to him after like hey ... we saw u from across the punk house and rlly dig ur vibe. and otter is kind of mortified but also is like ^^ play music with us please just to see ^^
roope is in an . emotionally difficult time in his life trying to decide if he wants to take a leap and leave all he's ever known his entire life. so obviously he jumps at the first chance and is like. Fuck It let's do it
obviously there's more logistics - roope finishes out his season before fully committing to the band, robo has to have this whole discussion with his family and have this emotional ass move to dallas, otter doesnt drop out completely but does have to explain to his family that his band is going to be his first priority at some point and starts taking only online classes etc - but thats how those three kind of. Meet and Click
theyre also still having bassist woes and thats when roope calls miro etc but. this isnt abt him rn for once
its a weird mix of a lot of Right Place Right Time scenarios, but how else do two americans who have no reason to ever meet end up with two finns who have little reason to be in america in the first place!!
i also think at first there's not really. Issues necessarily. but it takes a while for otter and robo, who are both super friendly open people, to kind of figure out roope's whole thing so they can finally click. which he's not Unfriendly per se but also he's not going out of his way to make conversation. but once they figure out oh he doesnt hate us and he's not even like one of those mean snappy punks he's just. european.. it's all relatively smooth sailing from there lol . it also helps when miro finally arrives and is both much friendlier at face value and also has roope being overly affectionate and up his ass 24/7 (which eventually bleeds over into his interactions with the other two)

(otterverse recap, 2/3)
now it's time for my personal favorite season of the otterverse, season 2! if season 1 is where the joke became a bit, then season 2 is where the bit became a roleplay, and also the last season where the tumblr inbox itself is referenced as part of the plot/world they live in.
it starts, as many things do, in a wendy's. c!otter (she/they/rain/star/paw, played by @leonardoturtle) is vibing, until a bunch of eldritch fellas and other weirdos essentially show up to start bothering paw.
notable here are lung anon, blood anon, tin star anon, and raccoon anon (i believe they were all played by the one the only @donatelloturtle, all they/them since anons), who are. actually i dont remember much abt tin star and raccoon other than they were in gay love but blood and lung anons? yeah those guys were on some tma shit. also, there was pedant anon (played by me, they/them, kind of an asshole but had some funny moments), wendy's employees #1 and 2 (different anons, one played by me and the other by @wallace-marte), a few failed ARG anons that never quite got off the ground, and pink text anon (played by @wisp-exe). out of these, lung anon, pink text anon, and the wendy's employees are the most important, despite what pedant anon would have you think, with lung and blood especially aiming for the annihilation of the world and all of reality (the other anons all made fun of them for it).
for a while, it's just a lot of ominous muttering and vague joke-making, as we the rpers try to get something fun off the ground (we didn't really start properly communicating behind the scenes until mid-s3)- and then in rolls pink text anon, the bitch-ass motherfucker themself. they taunt and threaten every otterverse participant i know of- even me. (this was the birth of c!gumy, btw! she used she/xe and will be important later!)
c!otter gets attacked by an apocalyptic eldritch flesh creature (later retconned to be a tbh creature), and harbinger anon (played by @harbinger-anon, whose main i can't remember) saves star by destroying the messenger.
pink text anon! introduces themself to otter as rains "guide," and starts pushing star to do things and "follow their lead," ominously and vaguely talking about the end of days and whatnot. what really makes them different is that they go into other ppl's askboxes and pull them into their story- namely, me and felix (cc!felix, to be clear. we all are/were mcyt fans we use c! and cc! a lot bc all of our characters have/had the same names as us lmao). pink text told felix to "protect the sea" and me (c!gumy) to "trick the sea". c!gumy resented being manipulated, and vowed to hunt down and reveal pink text anon.
sadly, c!gumy never got the chance, because less than an hour later pink text tricked c!otter into pulling a lever that brought about the apocalypse that lung and blood anons were talking about. tbh creatures appeared Everywhere, and the RP part of this story really kicked into high gear. pink text also revealed themself to be c!wisp (y'know, that guy! you remember disc!), and gave a whole villain monologue abt being wronged and getting revenge and stuff.
c!gumy... did NOT take this well. she kinda did a triple cannonball backflip into the deep end and swore revenge against c!wisp. u know how it is.
however, after the initial moment of panic- c!wisp seemed repentant, at least somewhat, and guided c!otter to pull the lever again and possibly end the annihilation.
so, the group heads back towards the lever, all while being attacked by monstrous tbh beasts. several characters die at this point (pedant dies offscreen lmao what an L), most importantly c!gumy (tackled c!wisp to the ground and got them both mauled), c!wisp (who lasted long enough after that to fight off one more beast, and also got hit in the head by a pebble thrown by c!gumy in xir final moments), and c!otter, who sacrificed herself for c!felix, dying in front of xem.
the apocalypse was stopped, but the damage is done- the old world is gone, and while there aren't any more new monsters coming in, there's still thousands roaming the streets. even so, there's still hope, as the wendy's employees (who have at this point fallen in gay love) have survived the carnage and start working to build a new future for themselves. their names are daisy cabiosas (they/them, played by me), and carmin aloys (he/him, played by wali), and since they wanted to unionize back when capitalism was a problem, their new settlement is called Union.
and that's otterverse season 2!
