#it's a sad day for female f1 fans

most of the drivers' reactions to the whole Horner situation is so disappointing tbh. what do you mean someone in the paddock, an employee gets harassed by one of the top figures in the sport and your reaction is either "it has nothing to do with me", or "no comment", "i just like cars and i want to drive", "it's noise and distraction", "i'm here to race", and "it's a good thing for the media", "it doesn't affect me", "i don't really have an interest".
why is it so hard to care about something other than your racing career? you gotta have some morals, dude. not caring about women's safety in your oh so beloved sport is some fucked up behaviour. in situations like this it really shows how fucking privileged they are and it's honestly repulsive.
this is precisely why Lewis is always the one being asked about any non-sport related topic. because he's the only one who cares and gives honest and nuanced answers. genuinely terrified of what this sport will become when he retires, cause no one will speak out on anything.
and then people wonder why we say that f1 is not a safe place for women and that misogyny is still very much a thing in the sport? men don't care, including the president of the fia and f1, the other team principals and most of the drivers as well. when the faces of the sport clearly don't give a shit about women, what kind of hope is there?
they can talk about equality and progressive values and promoting women in motorsports, when this is the reality of how they actually treat the women working in the sport. imagine how that poor woman is feeling, seeing how much the drivers care about what she's going through. utterly disrespectful, with no compassion or empathy.
f1 needs to do so much better.

FEMALE F1 DRIVER HEADCANONS
Tumblr media
pairing: f1!drivers x fem!driver, f1 grid x oc
warnings: i didn't specify which team, cause it's not really about that tbh. I imagine the oc being one of the younger ones on the grid (around mick's age). I based this one on the 2022 grid.
author's note: this is basically how things i imagine that would happen with the grid if you were their only female colleague.
▹ seb and lewis basically being your work parents: defending you from misogynistic reporters, praising you to heaven and back, claiming you are right even when you are obviously wrong in a situation. sewis supports women's rights, but mostly women's wrongs.
▹ the wags either absolutely adore you or they tolerate you, there's no in between. It's girls support girls until one of their boyfriends gives you a hug and then you're fucked.
▹ getting away with wrong answers in 'Grill the Grid' because the production team are totally in love with you and they hate your sad face when you give them an incorrect response.
▹ giving the grid nicknames that go from normal to borderline weird. for example, Mick becomes Mickie, Latifi becomes Nicky or Goatifi (depends on how the race went), Alex is Albono of course, George becomes Russy Bussy and Lando is Rumplestiltskin.
▹ at the driver's briefing: ''alright, boys-'' *scratches voice loudly* ''and lady.''
▹ valtteri and kevin letting you ramble to them about whatever drama you have going on in your life, cause they don't have much better things to do and they find it touching that you go to them for these kinds of things.
▹ you and zhou sending pictures of the outfits you're going to wear to the paddock during race week. sometimes even matching, cause yall are close like that.
▹ max teaching you his second language that is called 'swearing'. checo also likes to chime in. one time he convinced you the word 'cunt' was a compliment and he made you go up to max and call him that to congratulate him on his race win. let's say mad max made a brief appearance.
▹ jokingly flirting with other drivers just to rile toxic fans up for fun. the flirting consists honestly mostly of sarcastic comments about how they're good drivers, but better lovers, etc.
▹ fernando giving you random piggyback rides. for what reason? no one knows. It's nando, what do you expect. danny ric also does it sometimes, but he makes horse sounds and it freaks you out.
▹ you and esteban jokingly asking lance for pocket money, but you two sometimes hope he actually gives it one day.
▹ weekly gossip sessions with Pierre, because that man seems to know everything about everyone. occasional guest starring by charles and yuki.
▹ whenever carlos walks into the room, you start playing 'smooth operator'. at first he thought it was funny, but now he deliberately avoids you.
▹ overdramatic photoshoots with lando and daniel aka the papaya boys for their insta accounts. those jpg accounts are honestly just fan pages for you, because of the amount of times you've appeared on them.

word count: 2.0k
pairing: lewis hamilton x female reader, asshole!pierre gasly x female reader, platonic!f1 drivers x female reader, platonic!wags x female reader
requested: yes! here! highly recommend listening to all too well.
Tumblr media
It was horrible.
You had been sitting with the engineers during the Grand Prix, cheering your boyfriend Pierre on as you watched on. You felt as if the world stopped when him and Yuki spun off in unison. You could feel the world stop around you as you silently prayed they were okay.
Collective groans of disappointment and shouts of anger broke out around you as you quickly flicked on the switch in front of you, allowing you to speak to your Pierre. “Pierre! Honey please, say something!” But you didn’t, just Yuki’s outburst of anger.
“Here.” Pierre replied as you let go of the breath you didn’t know you were holding. You sunk into your seat as you held your head in your hands, shielding your face from the Netflix cameras which no doubt wanted your reaction for a dramatic made-up plot line for the next season of Drive to Survive.
It wasn’t long after before Pierre angrily walked through the Garage, frustration radiating from him as he weighed himself before stomping off. You followed him to his drivers room before shutting the door. Before you could turn around he stuffed his face into your neck as he broke out in sobs.
“Shh, I know. Pierre baby I know, it's okay.” You spoke as your hands combed through his tangled hair. “Y/n. Always me? All the bad things, me. What did I do to deserve it?” The French-man cried as you felt yourself begin to cry too. “It’s not you love. You know it was Yuki’s fault. He’ll own up to it, I know he will. You’re amazing okay don’t beat yourself up over this. It was absolutely out of your hands. You know that. You did your best.”
“It is! But that doesn’t make up for my shitty season! I don’t deserve this.” He shouted. “Pierre, not here. Don’t get angry here. The media will eat it up, let’s go home. Fuck the interviews. I’ll make you feel better okay? Whatever you want, we’ll do it mon chéri.”
“Fuck the media! Fuck you! Fucking isn’t going to make up for me missing out this race okay? You can’t make me feel better with food or cuddling Y/n.”
“That’s not what I’m saying Pierre! Please let’s get out of here, please, please.”
“This is my fucking job. I can’t just leave because I’m mad. I’m not a model who sells photos of my self for money okay? My job isn’t easy like yours.”
You scoffed, “Easy? Easy? My job isn’t just sitting around looking pretty. Shit goes on behind the scenes that you have no idea about. Bitchy models, photographers judging you all day, every day, tabloids and media making up  the most absurd rumours up and everyone eating them up, shitty mental health, body image issues, starving yourself to fit in a dress! Just because you sit in a car, racing at 200 kilometres an hour and have a dangerous job doesn’t make my job any less than yours!”
“Mon amour-”
“No! I’m sick of this! You taking your shitty results out on me when I have nothing to do with it! You are driving the car, not me. Your fans attacking and picking apart our relationship and you letting them. You never defend me when interviewers ask the most foul questions about me. ‘Is she good in bed?’ are you kidding me?! ‘Oh you have no idea.’ And then laughing it off. Travelling the world and never getting out, constantly on the move. It’s so draining. Cancelling fucking Paris Fashion Week when I have never missed a year because you convinced me too. You. All you. I’ve missed out on huge movie and TV show deals, Bullet Train, Euphoria, No Way Home, Don’t fucking Worry Darling. Harry fucking Styles!” You shouted in his face as he sighed.
(Bare with me I know Paris FW is a few weeks before Bahrain)
“Then fucking go! God if I hold you back so much leave! I don’t fucking need you here, anywhere matter of fact. I don’t need you Y/n. I can get anyone I fucking want. Go to Harry Styles. Go to whoever you fucking want. Whine to them. They’ll never love you like I do. Fuck you like I do. You need me. But then again you. You need me, I don’t need you so fuck off. Get your shit and leave bitch.”
(foul, im so sorry 😭😭)
“Mate what are you doing!” Charles shouted as he burst through the door, followed by Charlotte, Isabel and Carlos. “Oh baby I’m so sorry.” Charlotte said softly as she and Isa wrapped you in a hug. You didn’t react. You didn’t even know what was happening. What pulled you out of your trance was the groaning of your boyfriend, well, ex now.
“What the fuck Charles?” Pierre yelled as Charles retracted his fist from his face.
Lewis ran in at the sound of yelling, Angela hot in his tail. “What the hell is going-” Lewis stopped dead in his tracks at the scene, Pierre soothing his right cheek, Charles with balled fists, Carlos pulling Charles away while Isa and Charlotte hugged you. You.
You with your mascara stained face. You with your sobs and sniffles.
It broke him.
“My beautiful, beautiful Y/n.” He whispered as Isa and Charlotte slowly handed you off to him. You wrapped your arms around his neck as he kissed your forehead. As you stood in the hallway with him you felt, safe, loved. Which meant a lot since you hadn’t felt comfortable in a long time.
You could feel the pain. The anger. The late nights worrying whether Pierre would come home or not. Trying to soothe him after bad races only to be met with a empty hotel room the second you took your eyes off of him. The rumours and the side eyes that floated around the grid when you walked hand in hand with him even after videos of him getting too handsy with some rando at a club surfaced and spiralled. Even your friends and family contacted you, your best friends Maddi and Sayda had reached out to see if you were okay.
‘Poor girl probably doesn’t even know.’
‘Why is she still with him? Oh god is she pregnant?’
‘She probably cheats too, you know how models are.’
But none of that mattered, as long as you were with Lewis. “Come on let’s get you cleaned up.” Charlotte said as she linked her arm with yours, “Don’t waste your tears on him sweetheart.” Isa whispered as she moved your hair out of your face.
“What the fuck is he doing with my girlfriend?” Pierre yelled at Carlos as he pointed at Lewis.
“She is not and will never be your girlfriend again. You’re disgusting. It’s one thing to be angry and accidentally yell. But calling one of the most gorgeous, intelligent women on this Earth a bitch? Fucking despicable. She’s always been there for you, patient. When literal video proof came out of you cheating she didn’t blow up on you, start posting about you, start attacking you. No. Because she’s too kind for that and you took advantage of it and her. Y/n came straight to you for an explanation. And she told me your explanation, it was quite literally the worst fucking lie I’ve ever heard. ‘She thought I was her boyfriend.’ and ‘I thought it was you.’ Are you fucking kidding me man? You knew she wasn’t even in the country, she was on a plane, flying to your race after cutting a photoshoot with fucking Victoria’s Secret to come support you. You ruined her. You took away her opportunities because of your own selfishness. You will never find someone like her again. You fucked up. And I hope you kick yourself when you realize what you lost. Who you lost. Y/n is a thousand times more deserving of a man. Not a boy, someone who can’t even respect his own girlfriends career.”
Pierre stood there as Lewis walked away. If he stayed there any longer, looking at his idiotic face, god he would’ve swung.
But that was all in the past.
Months ago. Seven to be exact.
And now?
Now you were making your way down the runway, in a stunning Donatella Versace dress in front of thousands. The crowd was roaring, cheering the models on as you all displayed the clothing. Your face dead straight.
That was one of the things you praised yourself on. So did the media. You were known to never ever break face when on the runway. Always professional and well handled. But it was bound to happen. Your four year streak broken.
As you made your way to the end of the runway your eye caught on to a certain braided hair man, who was hard to miss with his bright pink outfit. And god did he look amazing. As you looked at him he smiled, blowing a kiss.
Your eyes crinkled as your lips turned upwards. Blowing a kiss back.
The media ate it up.
‘Y/n Y/l/n finally broke face on the runway, the reason? Seven time world champion Lewis Hamilton! Seems the model has moved on from her breakup with Lewis’ colleague and fellow racer Pierre Gasly.’
‘Lewis Hamilton culprit of the wide smile plastered on Y/n Y/l/n’s face during the Versace launch.’
‘Lewis Hamilton and Y/n Y/l/n share their relationship to the public!’
And Lewis could not be more proud of himself when he walked into the paddock, his hand entangled with yours. He was happy to show you off, respectfully of course. But Lewis wasn’t always kind, sometimes mischievous.
So when he saw the idiot that was Pierre Gasly, jaw dropped and eyes threatening to hop out of his head at the sight in front of him while seated at the Alpha Tauri hospitality whilst having lunch with Yuki he decided to have some fun.
Taking your hand and spinning you in towards him, shortly before kissing you.
“That little fucker.” Pierre swore as he ogled you. “That’s what you get when you fuck up, badly.” Daniel snickered as he walked past, towards the two of you. “Danny!” You smiled as you engulfed him in a warm hug.
“Missed me a bit too much Y/n/n.” Daniel smirked, “Lewis you better hold on to her tight, might just sweep her off her feet.” The McLaren driver joked as your boyfriend shook his head. “Seven months too late, I’ve been swept for as long as I can remember.” You grinned as you looked up at Lewis.
“You’re in love I get it.” Daniel laughed, “I’ll see you on the panel Lewis. See you tonight, my hotel room.” He joked towards you as he walked towards the conference hall, but not before winking your way.
“Shit I have to go. If he comes anywhere near-”
“I’ll be fine Lew, I promise. I have a guard dog in the form of Charles Leclerc ready to bite.” You smiled as you kissed him again. “Hey I do not bite!” Charles frowned as him and Carlos waited for you.
“Sure thing Charles. Remember when you lost in uno to Lando-” Carlos smirked as Charles yelled, “Hey!”
Lewis kissed your head, “Why would we ever think of having kids when we have those two assholes in red?”  “Rude.” Carlos stated as he and Charles crossed their arms in defense. “I’ll see you later my love.” He spoke before walking away.
“Stop rustling his hair Carlos.” You scolded, “It’s not my fault he’s so short.” Charles scoffed, “Actually I am 180 cm, 5′9 thank you.” He spoke proudly as Sainz let out a laugh, “Mate, I’m 179.” The two of you chuckled and made your way to the Ferrari hospitality as the Monegasque tried to defend his height.
As you passed Alpha Tauri your eyes wandered and saw him.
And you smiled as did he. But it didn’t mean you were over everything.
You remembered it.
All Too Well.

i rly liked what you had to say in that long post and i agree with it, but something that i wanted to expand on a little bit more. what u talked about in dissonance vs acknowledgement but i think another key point in that discussion is the steps that people take when they're in the in group vs the out group. like when people are in the in group, they are more likely to be sympathetic to others struggling and are processing their own emotions. versus those in the out group who have little emotional investment and are usually a little bit more callous. people in the in group are offended by the callousness that people in the out group treat them with, which causes more tension despite the groups agreeing on things in general. for a non recent drama example: mick getting fired last year. the in group (mick stans) were very sad about this and very emotional. people in the out group (non mick stans) were like dude what did you expect he wasn't preforming and this writing was on the wall are u delusional and don't have eyes? meanwhile, micks stans knew that he wasn't doing well but they're processing their own emotions but the out group's behavior makes it so that bridge of agreement can't happen.
hello, thank you! okay so i do see your point and i think that the mick example is both a good and a not so good example in this case, and i'll try and explain why.
firstly i do agree about the "in" and "out" group, though that also very much depends on where you stand and you own pov. but to go off your definitions here, if i take myself for an example, i was in the "out" group (non-stan of either mick or daniel) and therefore my responses to both were coloured by either my apathy towards mick or my antipathy towards daniel; let's suppose there was no positive emotion there. however; these two situations are fundamentally not the same.
mick got fired because of his lack of performance. this is a thing that happens often and it can happen to every one of our blorbos at some point. this was a matter of racing, aka their job. so no matter if people like mick, dislike mick, like haas, dislike haas, or anything else, it doesn't matter - it was, at the end of the day, another racer losing his job. the only consequences were there for him and his immediate family, and for his fans, who were/are understandably upset over it.
what daniel did had nothing to do with racing.
daniel, of his own free will, went to be a guest on a podcast he already said he enjoyed (i think, don't quote me on that) which is known to be full of misogynistic trash takes. once there, he proceeded to laugh at misogynistic jokes and make that "subjectively good drivers" joke himself, therefore affirming once again the prejudice against women drivers. this all comes right after f1 academy has fought to be broadcasted; after w-series lost funding and had to stop; after the question of disadvantages of women in motorsports and overcoming the blatant sexism has been in our (motorsports' fans and public) minds and in the discourse for a while. he did that after he already went on another podcast and laughed at the hosts' questions about "which eastern european female fans' pussy is the best" (a misquote, but the gist is the prejudice that all eastern european women are obviously whores; also, i do remember him saying "budapest" real quiet, but not quiet enough not to be caught by the mic, so take from that what you will).
this wasn't about racing. this wasn't about his job, like it was with mick. this was about a man who is followed by millions once again giving his fanbase affirmation that women are shit. shit drivers, shit pussy, shit whatever. this is blatant, outright sexism, and this has bigger impact than mick's contract termination. this is affirmation of patriarchal structures that feminism fights against, only it's presented with a wide smile and an aesthetically pleasing face, so "it's not that big of a deal"?
it is a big deal to me. i am a woman. why should i be okay with someone saying i'm shit just because of my gender at any moment in this life? why should any woman be okay with that? because someone you (general) like said it? because he's a man and we can't expect better? because that's just the way world is?
that's the fucking point. we fight so the world isnt like that. so that it isnt acceptable for women to be trash-talked callously on stupid podcasts. so that male celebrities need to think about what the fuck they say. so that people reassess and question their own biases. so that little girls can see someone who looks like them in an f1 racecar one day and maybe get inspired the same way all these boys do.
and this is where the "in" and "out" group thing doesn't work in my opinion, see. because while i will understand if mick fans block me for being callous about their boy's situation since i have no horse in that race and its just my mild annoyance with him that caused me to be unberable and potentially gleeful about him losing the seat, daniel fans that are rallying up to defend him can go fuck themselves tbh. because the fact that you would rather harass people over their completely valid outrage about his sexism than think on the aforementioned sexism yourself means that i dont want to interact with you. you have no moral high ground here, despite trying to take it by any means, when instead of reflecting on the actual harm those remarks, like any other sexist remarks, bring into the world, you'd rather hide behind deflection and attack people who are, again, rightfully upset over the sexism. there is also the matter of some takes i've seen which are basically just an attempt to dictate to those not in the "in" group how they should feel about it, using exactly the fact that they are in the "in" group of his fans as justification of why everybody else in the "out" group is just a big meanie.
fucking cry about it, i don't care. for me, sexism will never be okay, and i sure as fuck won't hold back in expressing my opinion about it, especially on the opinion website. and especially not for someone i don't even fucking like.
i hope this made sense! i:) thank you for the ask!

I was reading your posts about people hating wags and (apologies if you've covered this and I missed it!) I feel like the rabid idolisation of these girls is equally as unhealthy and parasocial and it often gets overlooked. A driver won't date you if you obsessively hate on their partner, they're also not going to appreciate you more if you obsess lovingly over them as well?
They're largely a group of young, wealthy, privileged women, who we never hear speak or give much in the way of opinion or personality, I don't understand how you can form a deep seated hatred from what little we know, but equally I don't understand how you can form a deep seated passion for them either? It feels largely based on looks rather than anything substantial, which feels problematic in a different way?
I think I just find it sad how much interest is funnelled into these women who, at the end of the day, aren't as relevant to proceedings as the online attention would have you believe. F1 has a 'women' problem and I think it's a shame that who drivers are dating ends up pulling focus from women who are genuinely trying to do something to redress the balance. It'd be great if there were less 'wag fanpages' or 'what wags wear' pages (which are a whole different discussion in reductiveness), and more fan pages and support for the female drivers. Them getting visible public interest is afterall one of the hurdles they need to jump to secure themselves viable funding to progress.
I think there's a lot of nuance to the Wag discussion that often gets overlooked, I don't think it's as black and white as 'liking wags is good and disliking them is bad' (not suggesting you said that btw but I feel sometimes that's the way it gets portrayed in fandom spaces?)
Yeah -- there are definitely two extremes at play with WAGs that are harmful and I think you made a good point about how we could use the energy and attention for WAGs to something more useful and productive.
Forgive me for my lackluster post, I spent the day traveling and getting a tattoo! but I didn't want you post to collect dust in my inbox <3333

Supportive
Tumblr media
* English is not my first language I apologise
* Gif is not mine
* Triggers: swearing, little bit 18+ content
- Summary: your a f1 driver and Nick is being a supportive Boyfriend
Y/N POV
“I know your going to be great.” I looked at nick through my phone, he was in Stockton I was in Monza.
“Thanks, i really hate to say this Nick, but I have to go.” He looked at bit sad.
“I know, just be careful, don’t do anything reckless out there.”
“I’ll try not to crash.” I said with a smile on my face.
“Okay, I love you.”
“I love you too Nick.”
We both ended the phone call. I looked outside my hotel window, looking at the view. Today is race day, an important day for me and for the fans, as a first female driver to compete for the championship and as a Ferrari driver, I need to finish second or first place to win the championship here in Italy. I really want to win here for the fans, the chances are really high I will be champion, because we still have a few races left but this is the place for the team and the fans.
“Y/N, are you ready?” My trainer said while walking in my room.
“Yes I’m ready.”
“Good, than let’s go, you have a long day ahead of you today.”
We both walked through the hotel to our car, to drive to the circuit.
“Did you already called Nick?” He asked.
“Yes, talked about and wishing me a safe drive.” He nods at my response.
“You know, its gonna be alright, just don’t crash and you win.”
“ I wish it was that simple.”
I walked through the paddock. I just had a team meeting, talking about our race plans, strategy and about the car developments. Me and Charles are in a good position, both starting in the front, him as second place me as third place, but Charles is a tough to beat. I need to finish second or first place to win this, but he doesn’t want to give a podium place for free. “Hey, feeling good today?” Lando walked up to me. “Hey Lando, yes I do, how about you, feeling better?” We both walked through the paddock as a camera team followed us. “Yes I am.” We both joked around till we both went different directions to our own garage. I greeted the team and went to my trainer. “There you are, already changed in your race suit I see.” “Yes I changed right after the meetings.” He nodded as he gave me a some headphones. “We are looking at some data.” He pointed at the screen.
—— start of the race——
“Okay, radio check.” My engineer said.
“Check.” I said back, trying to focus.
“Formation lap is starting now.”
I drove off following the cars in front of me, trying to warm up the tyres. “Data looks good, I will talk to you after the first couple of corners.” He said. “Thanks, let’s go get it.” I placed the car on the third place on the grid. Lights were red as the rest of the group joined their positions.
As everyone stood on their place the lights started to go out, the green lights went off and we all drove off. I was faster than Charles but got to the first corner, he almost drove me of but i overtook Charles as max was right in front of me. “He pushed me off.” I said while trying to get closer to max. “I know, just drive.” Charles was following me close behind, trying to overtake me. “Why is he pushing me?” “You guys can race each other, just don’t crash.” I started to get angry, this is not what we agreed on this morning. I pushed the car harder.
—— half of the race——
“ box box.” I drove into the pit lane and switch tyres. “We are faster than Verstappen, overtake if you can.” “He already pitted right?” “Yes.” I was close to him and got DRS. I tried to overtake him but failed and had to back off a bit. “The gap behind you is Charles 1.0, gap to Verstappen is 0,6.” I saw in my mirrors that Charles was pushing to get closer. “I’m not letting him past me.” “He’s not going to, just overtake Verstappen.” I felt getting angry, the whole race they are favouring Charles, do they want this championship or not?! “ two rounds left, overtake if you can.” I saw Charles driving behind me, I got DRS on max and tried to overtake him. I drove next to him on the straight and both drove side to side in the corner, almost touching each other, i past him in the exit of the corner. I heard the crowd going crazy. I pushed harder in the next corners as max had to defend his place because Charles was trying to overtake him as well. I saw the finish line, the team waiting by the gates and the check and flag waving around and fireworks went of. “You did it, your are champion of 2023.” My engineers yelled, while the team was celebrating on the back ground. “Yesss! Let’s go!…, wow… amazing guys, thank you.” I felt I started to cry. “No thank you for this solid season.” I drove the car to the pit lane and parked at the right place. The whole team was waiting, cameras were pointing on me, waiting for me as I sat in the car. I got out of the car and pointed at the sky, thinking about the people who are not here anymore to celebrate this with me. Then I jumped of the car and sprinted to the team, the all hugging me, padding me on the helmet, shouting in Italian.
—— podium ceremony——
“ the winner of the Italian race and the world champion of 2023, Y/N Y/L/N!” I walked up and jumped on the first place at the podium. People went nuts, the tifosi was there, waving their flags, shouting. My national anthem played and I got a bit emotional. After that the Italian National anthem played and the fans went crazy. I was looking into the crowd, looking for my team and there he was, Nick standing next to my trainer and engineer. I smiled wildly at him, he gave me a thumbs up.
—— after the ceremony——
I walked through the building to the Ferrari pit box. The team was waiting for me. I walked up holding the trophy up in the sky. They all staring to sing a song. They all congratulated me and we went to take a team picture. “Come.” My trainer yelled at Nick, pointing next to me for the photo. “I’m not part of the team.” “Yes you are, come come.” Nick walked over and sat next to me. The guy who’s taking the photo yelled “Grazi Tutti Y/N!” And we all yelled something back. Then they started to spray some champagne at me, Nick run away laughing while I was to slow and got sprayed from top to the bottom.
—— at the hotel later that night——
Nick walked with me to my room. “I need a shower.” I said while opening the door. “Yeah me too. Bit sticking.” I laughed at him. “You are not sticking, look at me.” I walked immediately to the bathroom. “Can I join the champ?” “Let me think….yes only if you give me a massage. My back hurts from all those people jumping at me.” “Deal.” We both jumped in the shower as he started to massage my back. Warm water warm dripping down on us. “I’m so happy your here, I thought you needed to train for your fight next week?” He placed some kisses on my shoulder while massaging my lower back. “Yes, but I couldn’t miss this, I wanted to surprise you.” “You did surprise me.” He moved his hands to the front, tracing my belly. I leaned back against his chest. “Two champ’s, our children will be epic.” “Yes they would be, but in fighting or in racing.” “Both, one in fighting one in racing.” “So you want two children?” He carefully asked. “Yes maybe more, depends what you want.” “Baby I don’t care as long I have you.” He kissed my neck and his hands went slowly down. “Let me take care of you, showing my support.” I giggled as I looked up at him. “Show me then.”

Could the Brazilian nonnies please let us non Portuguese speakers know how Brazil (social) media is treating Max these coming days. I need all the smut information. We are all Lewis fans this weekend. Fuck Max Piquet and his fascist family. /// So far the brazilian media has ignored Max's presence in the country, only a journalist who works in airports talked about his arrival. Lewis is all over the medias, and then comes Charles (Ferrari is the most popular F1 team in Brazil and even fans of other teams like Charles here in Brazil). Journalists, celebrities and even politicians have mocked the Piquet family's obsession with Lewis, but focusing more on Nelson (and his crimes) and Jr than on Max. I think if the brazilian media that doesn't work with F1 shows up at the press conference tomorrow they could ask Max something about Nelson (and Lewis), but in general there has been a lack of interest about him in the brazilian media. On the social media (twitter), Max has been criticized by brazilian F1 fans (except for the bolsominion boomer part of the fandom) for his association with the Piquets, and there were memes saying that Nelson was going to take him to a Bolsonaro rally, haha. His brazilian fans were trying to distance him from this drama, but while they avoided talking about the Piquets, some of them drew unnecessary hate to Max for trying to mock Lewis' honorary citizenship. There were also some comments from people wondering if Max doesn't get sad that his girlfriend's family talks more about his rival than about him (I wonder that too). There were also several slander names for Kelly: "Fungus Pussy", "Bolsonara" (female Bolsonaro), "Nelsinha" (female Nelson), "Tax Evasion Princess", "Fascist Barbie", "Fake Brazilian", "Miss Covid Chic", "Cloroquet", "Michele Bolsonaro from Monaco" (Michele is the name of Bolsonaro's wife)
Cloroquet is so funny

I mean at the end of the day it means nothing because just like red bull are making it about a power move, people online are making it into a morality olympics between drivers. None of them care. It’s the honest truth. They care about the "my driver did this so he's "good" yours didn't so he's a piece of shit" like this is some sort of morale olympics or some competition where they can shit on fans of a person who's said some wrong shit. but do they actually care about the situation? no. There’s a woman whose reported this behaviour and it’s been used by people in the sport and fans for nefarious actions instead of caring about what that woman is going through. It’s fucked up and it makes me sick that it’s mostly women who are fans doing things like that. As a fan and a woman I want the people in the sport to do something. If that means we decide to boycott for a weekend than so be it. That’s actually doing something. But there won’t be because as I said no one really cares.
you’re so right. thank you for this. I think as a fan, you watch through your tv, you follow your favourite drivers on social media etc, and you build this image of them in your head, whether you mean to or not. and then the image is shattered, and people who rely on it are suddenly very confused and upset.
the thing they care about the most is always going to be themselves (and their paycheck). they’re millionaires, and one accusation from a woman in the paddock doesn’t effect them in the slightest. should it? yes. but it doesn’t.
it’s really upsetting to know that this is the way this situation has been handled. you just know that there’s many other women who work in f1 who’ve most likely got similar stories, and who are now never going to be able to say anything.
whether this entire thing is true or not (because we still don’t know, I am aware of that), it has definitely given a clear message to all female fans and also the women who work in the paddock and the sport. and that’s just so sad.

Thursday’s news that the Williams family will depart Formula 1 has been met with understandable sadness from those lamenting the loss of a final tangible link back to the good old days.
The Williams F1 team is one of incredible heritage and it’s an intrinsic thread to the tapestry of motorsport history. For the last seven years, it has also been led by a woman – who has shouldered the responsibility of the fight to keep F1’s last true independent team alive.
And now Claire Williams’s departure from her role as deputy team principal at the end of this coming Italian Grand Prix weekend means that F1 has lost something it can’t afford to lose.
The legend of Williams Grand Prix Engineering has been committed to folklore, regardless of what happens next with Dorilton Capital at the helm – nothing will change the fact that it will live long in the memory of any F1 fan.
But when will an F1 team be led by a woman again?
Nine months into the tumult of 2020, there’s no need to talk again about the importance of representation and what it means to those that strive to achieve it, to see themselves reflected back from a place they admire and aspire to be.
Whether it was predestined by birthright or not: Claire Williams’s place at the top of one of F1’s most prestigious teams has demonstrated that, yes, women can run an F1 team too and can hold their own in a world that isn’t built with women in mind.
Williams’ exit comes just over three years after the departure of Sauber team boss Monisha Kaltenborn. And now, with Williams gone, so too has that little flicker of representation – and who knows when it might come back again.
The gravity of that might be inconsequential to some, but as a woman working in motorsport – which so often feels like some sort of contest to go above and beyond to prove your worth – it is Claire’s departure from the paddock that struck me as the saddest part of this ending to the Williams story.
Over the course of the last seven years, Claire Williams has led the Williams F1 team through its stormiest period. She has been the public face, been key to the major decisions taken by the team and most recently she has played a main role in negotiating the terms of the new Concorde Agreement.
Outside of F1, she has leaned her support to initiatives such as Susie Wolff’s Dare to be Different – as well as attending the inaugural W Series race at Hockenheim last year, before publicly admitting her initial misgivings about the validity of the series were unfounded.
In recent years – perhaps as a result of female leadership, perhaps not – the Williams F1 team has looked certain to be the team to finally give a long-awaited female driver an F1 chance. First, it could have been Wolff, and now reigning W Series champion Jamie Chadwick is signed as a development driver for the team.
It’s unfortunate that the team’s miserable fall from grace has coincided with Williams’s spearheading of the team, if only for the vindication that it gives to sexist corners of the internet that this could have all been avoided if only for a man’s stewardship. It’s unfortunate that as the team heads in a new direction – hopefully toward a secure and successful F1 future deserving of its heritage – that it will come only after Williams has gone.
That is not to say that the hard facts of Williams’s leadership should be above scrutiny – anything less would be tokenism, which achieves nothing for anybody. Williams’s role in the last seven years should be assessed through the same lens as any male counterpart.
But the uncomfortable truth remains that it seems unlikely (though I would be delighted to be proved wrong) that the next person to sit in the team principal slot on the Williams pitwall will be a woman.
And in the current moment, if you think across the expanse of top-level motorsport, you would be hard-pressed to find another woman in such a leadership position. There’s Wolff at Venturi in Formula E and Catherine Bond Muir at W Series… but that’s about it.
Like with the lack of female racing drivers, because of a fundamental shortage of young girls getting into go-karting, a similar drought of women in leadership positions is a product of the world F1 operates in. Seeing is believing, believing is breaking through a glass ceiling.
Put simply: there are six other Toto Wolffs, Mattia Binottos and Christian Horners, there is no other Claire Williams.

Hi, so was just wondering your thoughts. I'm a female fan who got into F1 over the lockdown, and it really annoys me when I see all these comments about how women aren't going to get into F1 and can't go up against the guys, because that's a total lie, I think its been brought on by the intro of the W series, which is an amazing step and all the negative comments being made by mostly old white men. Just wondering your thoughts. Thanks
hey Anon!! I absolutely love this question and am really excited about you wanting my thoughts on this matter. it took me some time to answer this, as I did some reading before answering it properly. get comfortable, cause this is something I’m very passionate about so it’s gonna be a long one!! to answer this question, we have to ask these people; why exactly do you think women are not going to get into F1? why do you not want women to get into F1? so in order to answer that, I read through hundreds of reactions to the introduction of the W Series. one of the most common statements is “well, women aren’t strong enough, women will never be able to compete with men on the same level physically”, which is, when you think about it, inherently just not true. men are physically stronger on average, not individually. so while it’s true that a certain man can be stronger than a woman and that is more often the case than not, it doesn’t really say anything about an individual. it doesn’t mean a woman can’t be physically stronger than a man, which a lot of people believe, that’s just not what that means. another opinion that I saw around a lot is “they want equality, right? then why do they create a whole different series to compete in?” and the truth is, it doesn’t really work like that. the W Series were created to create exposure for women to get sponsors and then eventually work their way up into F3 or F2. cause as sad as it sounds, sponsors don’t want to sponsor a woman. basically the W Series gives them the racing experience, the exposure and eventually also, the money.  a lot of people argue “women should just drive faster, then.” but to me; that’s just not fair, is it? especially not in a day and age where we know an F1 team is considering hiring someone who is P6 in the F2 driver’s championship. it’s not all about talent and driving fast, for that matter. do we really think that in 70 years of F1 there’s never been a woman good enough to get there? at the end of the day when you don’t have the money and when you don’t have the sponsors, you’re just not going to get into F1. (also wanted to add to this that I saw someone say “women can’t compete in F1 because they are very emotional and irrational when they are on their periods” which is funny because, sexism aside, of course male F1 drivers would never do anything irrational or give an emotional reaction) I feel like it’s not all about giving women the opportunity though, it’s also about the stigma around men showing their emotions, which is often considered ‘girly’. we look at these F1 drivers as if they’re the pinnacle of toughness and strength. when one of them dares to show an emotion from time to time, they’re scrutinized for it, they’re called ‘cry baby’s’ and weak and everyone other negative word in the book. apart from the fact that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with feeling sad or feeling insecure, this just encourages the idea that in order to be in F1, you must be emotionally completely closed-off. if we do not break through this, this you-have-to-be-masculine issue will continue to resurface.
I want to close this off with the question; why do we care about diversity? why should it matter? cause the truth is, diversity is almost synonymous with success. when employees feel both included and that their employer supports diversity, they report experiencing trust and increased engagement at work. diversity is a key ingredient for better decision-making among teams and is associated with improved financial performance. these are all fact-based statements. diversity matters, cause it does. whether you like it or not, it always has and it always will.

you like star wars?? *clutches pearls* no seriously, I'm impressed how well you deal with all these stupid messages you get (I'm sure we don't even see the worst) and I'm saddened that you had to become used to this. Sending all my love to you, Hazel! I am a huge fan of you on tumblr and very appreciative that you give us an insight into the working of motorsports, I hope you are having a great day 💚
Aw, thank you anon - I try. I am not coping at all well with lockdown (things are personally and financially complicated, by which I mean bad but hey, these are the times we live in and I'm not by any means unique) so I am probably letting things bother me more than I normally would.
I don't post the really unpleasant or threatening ones. Or anything that's like "huuurr Formula E is gay" (HELL YEAH IT IS) or whatever.
The last one bothered me a bit because back in January someone found my tumblr and found a photo from years ago of me in my underwear in Monte Carlo. I don't care who sees it, if they're grubbing down the back of my tumblr (it's in my NSFW tag if you really want to) but this person thought they could threaten me by saying they'd send it to an F1 PR firm and Rob Smedley, both of whom were kind of my boss at the time.
Neither would have cared, it just would have been mildly embarrassing. You'll be shocked to know that people who work in motorsport have seen an average looking woman in a bra before.
But it did annoy me. In the end I just tweeted the photo myself to make it go away and suggested people donated to an environment fund if they had a fap over it. I'm not ashamed it exists and the motorsport people I know were all like cool, good job on handling that.
It sucks to realise people are that keen to try and find things, though. I'm not famous or successful, so I've obviously just pissed someone off somehow and they're digging for receipts on anything. I don't think there's anything you can dig out on me that would shock me or scare me because like - for god's sake I wrote an article about wanking in hotel rooms and tweeted it on main. People can't shame you if you don't have any in the first place.
But you shouldn't have to be a post-embarrassment weirdo to work in motorsport and be Not The Generic Archetype. I don't wanna be like... Oh, I don't know, Will Buxton or whatever. I am just out here vibing as myself and trying to find ways to make the content I want to and write the pieces I know the sport deserves, everyone can keep the honour of being the one writing the grand prix race report, I'm not a threat to that.
It makes me worry about other people though. There are plenty of younger people who haven't totally given up on an Internet-to-life filter who could just as easily get that crap. My brand absolutely encompasses tweeting a photo of me in my bra if I have to but most of my female colleagues would be both mortified and not willing to take that step because it's the act of a ferally online lunatic, even if it is effective. So the blackmail becomes much scarier then.
Ah, now I am anxious and sad. Maybe it is time to get off the ol Tunglr dot hell for the day.
Be nice to each other.
