Read ~60 chapters of Chainsaw Man today, WHEWWWWW-
#dee p thoughts#overall review so far: pretty good. author's style is very distinct and potentially offputting/unhinged so I 1000% get someone not liking#this for that reason. theres a lot of food for thought to chew on among it so I enjoy it tho. but I do think the plot in terms of arcs and#how they tie into character development/progression can be very...fast and sudden? couldve used more time to make the progressions more#gradual and natural feeling imo which is where I think the anime expanding on scenes enhances this. ex: aki's care for power and denji is#very sweet but it also feels a bit sudden in terms of...well how to word this? like it ultimately MAKES SENSE but the turning point makes i#feel like his care stems from them almost dying reminding him of himeno as opposed to. caring about them afdadljbkndlkj- yes its establishe#that aki views denji kind of as a little brother but they couldve had the trio cook a little longer imo like at that point I dont really#feel aki has had much connection to power either tbh but...I get it I get why lol-#THO I WILL GIVE THAT THE SUDDENNESS FEELING MAY STEM FROM ME READING ~60 CHAPTERS YEAH. just like? denji's relationship with makima has mor#gradual progression than the trio's imo which makes sense but we should strengthen the trio bond for extra impacttt-#thinking deeper I do think aki has individual moments with denji and power has individual moments with denji so its probably the lack of ak#interacting with power that makes me feel the trio isnt fully baked lol. kind of just shown annoyance and then happiness at her not throwin#vegetables and now you dont want her to die I guess thats what makes me feel something is missinggg#which makes sense at the end of the day I guess? whats important is their relationship with denji not each other? but eh still I guess we'l#jot this down as a personal preference of mine

Alya:
Alya redesigns! tbh don’t know if they’re cohesive but 🤷♀️
S1: dresses for comfort & is geeky - think DrWho/Marvel/Tumblr. Obsessed w superheroes & has dedicated blog for each one, & that includes LB. Beginning of her & Maris friendship, starts to dates nino halfway s1.
S2: Mari influences her way of dress, still geeky but experimenting w clothes. Ladyblog becomes popular, interested in finding out her secret ID. Is also investigating akumas, HM, The Who/what/where/whys. Lowkey figures out who ladybug is but doesn’t say anything. Has been given fox miraculous at least a couple times.
S3: notices changes in Maris behavior & confronts her. Becomes fox miraculous holder full time, helps LB figure out who HM is & shares all the info she’s found. CN lowkey pushed to the side, causing friction, bc wrapped up w finding out who HM is ig. Constantly wears a Fanny pack now for trixx. Goes w comfortable but stylish clothes (ig lol idk) also at this point is BFF w Mari
Chloe:
S1: wears preppy designer brands to impress mom, despite living in diff countries. Basic mean girl, her only friends being Sabrina and Adrien - whose a childhood friend & lowkey helped him attend school. Both know how it feels to “lose” a parent & Adrien has seen a softer side of her. Probably has a crush on him ig. Maris bully, jealous of her talents at sewing & making friends easily, & prob her knit tight family.
S2: still preppy but w 60/70s inspo. Given bee miraculous a couple times, has resisted akumas - info she uses to help others later.
Helping ppl & being somewhat nice makes her feel good & likes the appreciation from others+LB. Maybe Mom moves back to Paris w half sister, Zoe - might be significantly younger than Chloe idk. Didn’t like her at first but warms up to her as season goes on. Sees lil sister copying her & their mom, has an epiphany ig. Connects dots on akumas & feelings & tries to be better.
Should Zoe exist tho??? idk
S3: preppy but more casual. She’s nicer but still sarcastic, has made a few new friends, treating Sabrina better. Still trying to get moms approval tho & follows her around, even to fashion things w the Agreste. Notices Gabriel is acting strange, more distant towards Adrien, doesn’t notice what he’s doing or where he’s going. pt queen bee ig, probably given towards the very end of the season tbh by Adrien/CN after being ignored by LB bc of RR involvement w finding out HM id. AND noticing Chloe change significantly in the past several months (?) does Adrien reveal to her IDK he is still loyal to LB but eH
Mari:
1st Mari is shy, her outfits are safe & she kind of disappears in a crowd. She just became 🐞 & isn’t 💯 with her role yet. She’s designed and made her own clothes but doesn’t wear them outside of the house bc Chloe, oof
2nd she’s now comfortable being 🐞 & that boosts her confidence as Mari, she’s wearing more bold colors & outfits that she may or may not have designed herself 👀
3rd 🐞 is now the guardian of the miraculous box, has bigger responsibilities & problems to deal with. Being 🐞 has creeped into her daily life. Doesn’t have time to design/make clothes so wears w/e, but tries to appear happy.
Kagami:
i like the idea of kagami being prim and proper looking all preppy at the beginning, but after making friends she starts to rebel by modifying her school clothes w accessories but eventually wears w/e she wants w a punkish vibe. lowkey worried about falling into a trope so idk

Hmmm, how about an Hiei x S/O or his crush headcannons? Which the S/O who's a goober, like a sweet and adorable and a very romantic one (overdramatic one...) And like thinking that the S/O is like tall (like I guess 5'10 or smth idk 😅) and he's a smol angry demon man like he doesn't know why he dated/developed feelings for a human that's like this but secretly loves them (I just love the opposite attract and tall and small dynamics xD)
oooooh i love this idea!! i decided to do both (starts off as a crush then he becomes a lover) and ngl i kind of took the enemies to lovers route with this one since i feel like it fits his character more. i also decided to go with the "goofy but very strong character" trope with the s/o because honestly? why not lol.
i surprisingly had a lot of fun writing this and it got longer than expected, he's a little ooc in some parts but eh it's not that big of a deal tbh.
tw: injuries, reader almost dies at one point, brief mention of reader having trauma,
lets be real, hiei found you annoying at first, not as annoying as kuwabara but damn near close.
when you were going to fight he didn't have much hope in you, you would probably die in under a second knowing your nature, but as soon as you put in work it almost made his jaw drop.
how he developed feelings for you was at that very moment, he doesn't realize it until much later.
the way his stomach gets this thing called "butterflies" when he's near you, he doesn't move away or threaten you when you get near or touch him (he did at first threatening to rip your arm off) but then he can't help but grow hot... uncomfortably hot.
he's thinking you put him under some type of spell, why does he feel this way? especially over a human? sure, you show courage, sure, you fight well, but guaranteed that there are others who do as well...
but then he comes to the realization, he's never met a demon that has ever made him feel this way.
and a certain red head can see right through it.
kurama eventually asks hiei if something is wrong, but hiei states that he's fine, it takes a bit of time to convince the fire demon to come clean, that something is wrong with him, whilst he was ranting, kurama was listening.. and then he came to the realization.. hiei had a crush on you.
when kurama tells him, he denies it, saying that you were just some annoying human, and that he doesn't have crushes or has the time for a relationship, but kurama knows all of that is a lie, he likes you, and him denying everything just makes things worse.
it was made very clear that this information was kept between the two demons, and eventually, hiei would have to tell you.
some time passes by and you manage to get into a scuffle, you end up injured and hiei comes to the rescue, but tells you not to think of it too deeply.
you don't say anything, but hiei has been acting strange, it's gotten to the point where yusuke and kazuma notice, but don't say a word, it's even weirder when it's just the two of you, he's a lot more.. quiet, and noticeably kinder to you, he doesn't insult you as much anymore, other than that, things remain the same.
while your tidying up your wounds you still managed to keep a smile on your face and a sense of humor, going as far as to make fun of your loss.
hiei would've called you an idiot and told you to shut up, but he can't bring himself to do it somehow, the way you talk, your laugh, your smile, the butterflies get stronger and the blush on his cheeks start to grow darker.
damn... what's with this woman?? why is she so... so....?
it would take so much of his ego and pride to just man up and admit that he likes you, he's not good with words unless it's telling people off (he gets better with this, i promise).
eventually, you got into another fight, and your opponent was tough, so tough in fact you almost die fighting, and you ended up passing out for hours upon hours, the team thought you would die.
hiei put on his cold front as usual, but on the inside he's panicking, he can't lose you, not right now at least.
when it's just him in the infirmary, he looks down at your unconscious body feeling the urge to shed a tear, your happiness is... gone, staring down at nothing but a blank face.
he hoped that you didn't die, he made sure that when you wake up, he'll tell you that he likes you... though it's easier said than done, it'll still take a lot out of him.
eventually he gets in a vulnerable state, kurama yet again see's him, noticing that he's shaking, sitting in the grass at the edge of a cliff, staring into the sunset.
they talk for a while, kurama eventually convinces him that if he can't just flat out tell her, he could just write her a note, and even better, give her a gift.
but what would she even like?
he heard in passing with your talk with his sister, yukina, that you really liked cupcakes (im sorry if you don't like cupcakes just try to imagine it's like some other desert), so, he gets some cupcakes.. from somewhere... somehow... and writes you a letter about how he wants you to be his mate.
and when you say yes.. you're locked in.. forever.
eventually you do wake up, find the cupcake next to the table and eat it, noticing the note and reading over it, it comes to you almost as a shock... hiei? likes you? no way, this has to be some type of elaborate prank.
you do end up seeing hiei, who can't even look at your face, i mean you have to admit.. he's cute, a cute little short guy, while you're taller than him by some inches, he doesn't seem to mind this, he knows he's stronger than you, height doesn't mean jack shit to him.
and so, you accept his request, and now, the two of you are officially dating! or at least that's what you think and he wants.
at first, nothing changes, he's still a tad bit nervous around you, he ordered that there should be no pda in front of the team, he's not ready to tell everyone yet.
when you two are alone, he still had barriers up, not feeling the most comfortable with you yet, the two of you talk and get to know each other, realizing that the reason you were the way you were was because of your trauma, so you masked it with humor.
it takes a while for the two of you to be more intimate (not sexual), holding hangs, hugging, kissing, of course when there wasn't anyone around.
the only person he trusts in regards of knowing about the relationship is kurama and mukuro, no one else.
it takes him a bit to admit that he definitely loves his s/o, and you might've been one of the best things that has happened to him.

I just got to reading a translation of "The wooing of Emer" online. Why is no-one (especially the online encyclopedias) talking about the fact Emer is fomorian?
why aren't the online encyclopaedias talking about it: bc they are not that useful for medieval irish literature most of the time, tbh, being heavily simplified and reliant on secondary sources that are often themselves not particularly reliable (although there have been efforts to improve some pages inc. wikipedia pages). loads of fun details missing from them, always
why isn't anyone else talking about it: eh. probably two main reasons
there's a lot of it around. cú chulainn's got a fomorian grandma (on lug's side) and no one ever really talks about that either. it's not that big a deal. i'm sure he's not the only one; can't throw a rock around here without hitting someone with a fomorian uncle or something. there's a lot more overlap / interaction between them and the tuatha dé danann than a simple oppositional binary would suggest, and family trees get fucky in general. being related to the fomoire doesn't automatically = being fomorian yourself bc belonging and kin-groups and stuff are a bit more complicated than that
i'm pretty sure it's only mentioned in tochmarc emire and only in passing and not directly in relation to emer herself, so it's easily overlooked even if you're dealing with that text and a lot of people will be dealing with other texts. it's also only in the later, longer redaction of the text and not in the earliest one, although so are a lot of things. if the authors thought it was important as part of her heritage -- whether they saw it as a good or a bad thing -- they would bring it up more often, but TE seems to be the only one that bothers to give background information about forgall's family tree, so mostly it looks like they think it's not that relevant. (although as it is not a particular focus of mine, it's entirely possible it comes up somewhere else and i just haven't noticed)
e.g. you might expect it to come up in fled bricrenn but it doesn't
sidenote: why the fuck henderson translations "ben ind fir as dech" as "wife of the best wight" i have no idea. it's just "fer"! it's just man! why are you trying to make cú chulainn sound even weirder than usual! it's a mystery to me. other than the fact it's from 1899 and people did whatever they wanted at that point tbh
(the parenthetical explaining the meaning of "Manach" is also editorial and not in the Irish; the meaning "tricky" may be more suitable bc it might have something to do with clessa, but that's getting into my friend emmet's in-progress research so i won't delve deeper there)
also, tethra, who is supposedly forgall's uncle in TE and who is described in the text as a "king of the fomoire" is a bit of a weird one iirc and there's potentially more going on with him than that phrasing suggests, although i can't remember the details and that's getting into cath maige tuired territory, at which point you're better off asking @margridarnauds bc it's not a topic i know a huge amount about
finally i'll be honest another factor is probably that there hasn't been a huge amount written about emer as a character. there's been a lot written about texts that she's in and her function there, but less on her just like, as a person (bc medieval celtic studies is a very small field, there are a lot of texts and characters, and there hasn't been that much written about anyone really). so lots of things don't get talked about. doesn't mean they're not worth talking about. just means nobody's got around to it yet.

I promised myself I’d do this so here it is. The Ninja ranked by how well I would think of them if was an employee working at a ninjago city supermarket:
Cole - the kindest customer. The favorite customer. Caught me purchasing a cake for myself and now we’ve started sharing recipes/bakeries we like every time he comes in. Once caught the boss yelling at one of the teens and started throwing hands. Motm convinced me Cole would absolutely be pro-unions and workers rights, okay? I can’t explain it but you gotta trust me. 10/10 would help me unionize.
Lloyd - The only reason he’s in second place instead of Zane is that I feel like he’d have the vibe of a kid whose not used to shopping on their own and wants to make a good impression. Like he’d put his items on the conveyor belt, all of which being candy, and when I tell him his total he would spend like a minute or two thumbing through his wallet because he wanted to give exact change. And if he takes longer than like 10 seconds he starts apologizing profusely and the only reason it isn’t annoying is because you can feel the 12-year-old-energy coming off him in waves.
Zane - Yes, he would be the most well behaved ninja to check out. But I think he’d be too well behaved. A completely average customer ignoring the nindroid part. I’d recognize him as a regular, but our interactions would be so minuscule that I’d never think any more of him than just ‘customer’. I probably don’t even realize who he is sometimes, until one of the other ninja show up with him and I go ‘oh shit it’s the white ninja.’
Nya - I think 9 times out of 10 when we interact, it’s just a very normal transaction tbh. Like maybe sometimes she’ll mention being a ninja, or she’ll come in fresh from a fight, but most of the time it’s just eh. She’s okay. BUT. but. There’s going to be one time she comes in, one time she goes shopping, where she just goes ape shit. Maybe one of other customers said something, or maybe it was a bad day, I couldn’t tell you. But there’s going to be a time where she gets so pissed off that she knocks over an entire shelf, and she gets suspended from the store for a month.
Jay - I couldn’t tell you what it is, but jay feels like The Annoying Customer. Like the kind of guy who keeps telling you about his political opinions despite you not asking for them, and since you’re not legally allowed to get into politics on the clock you just have to sit and fume whenever he says some bullshit. He also seems like the kind of guy to hold up the line because he noticed you had Prime Empire merch and really wants to let you know he was Super Star Rocking Jay, and saved everyone from the game that one time.
Kai - Kai Jiang-Smith is my favorite ninjago character, I swear he is, but I would hunt him for sport if I ever had to deal with him in a work setting. As far as I’m aware he’s the only character we’ve ever seen in a convenience store, and the one I can say for certain I would have a violent hatred for. I cannot express to you how much cashiers do not, in fact, like being flirted with on the clock. It does not change when a celebrity does it. We are tired and hungry and immune to your advances. If Kai fucking Smith, with his verified blue checkmark looking ass, came into my store during my 9-5, and started hitting on me, I would become the next seasons villain. Not to mention he’d do the same thing Jay would, where he’d want to make you very aware that he is the red ninja and he’s saved the city so so so many times. Not to get like a discount, he just loves to gloat.

hi idk if you're a huge kalos fan but how are you feeling about the direct
I haven't watched it yet, but ngl Kalos wasn't my favorite OR my least favorite pokemon game, I was pretty neutral on it overall. My main complaint was how annoying the map was to traverse before you got fly, but aside from that it was fine, introduced some cool pokemon and had a decent plot. Tbh for the next Legends game I would have preferred Jhoto, but eh. It's not a huge deal to me.
My real issue is that it's a little hard to get excited about it when I know how bad crunch is at Game Freak and that despite saying they were reevaluating their tight release cycle bcs like, ScarVi was borderline unplayable at launch and Arceus got abandoned the second they were done with it despite being the most popular game in years....I just have no faith that this game will be good, or at least it won't be anywhere near as good as it has the potential to be :/
I hope I'm proven wrong tho, and I don't think it's wrong to be excited about the game, something something no ethical consumption and I'd be a major hypocrite if I told people to drop any game company that has bad practices bcs almost all of them do, I just can't get hype. I was really, really hoping Game Freak would slow the hell down and stop making new games for a couple of years, put all of their focus on gen 10 and release that maybe in 2026 or 2027, but nope gotta make that money even if the games we release are falling apart at the seams and our devs are working on two or three projects at once.
And like, given the current trend in decreasing quality I'm genuinely unsure if the game is even going to be functional enough to be worth playing, especially since I figure to hit a 2025 release they probably started working on this right after Arceus came out, and there has simply not been enough time to make this game good. Plus there were a lot of points in ScarVi where I legit just wanted to put the game down and stop playing entirely bcs the graphics and glitches and framerate drops started to make me annoyed and dizzy, and once I was done with the main story I lost like all motivation to keep playing(I like finishing my dex, I did it in Sw/Sh and Let's Go and have almost done it in BDSP and Arceus, but I don't care about ScarVi's dex at all), and I haven't even bought the DLC yet. Tbh I'm probably not even gonna pre-order this, I'm waiting till it's out to decide if I want to buy it or not.
Anyway sorry to be a buzzkill, I don't fault anyone for being excited, I've loved Pokemon for more than half my life, it helped me meet my fiancé, it really means so SO much to me, so I get it, but like....I think I love the series too much to get excited for this. Seeing what Pokemon is turning into is just...painful and sad. I hope y'all enjoy it tho, and who knows, I could be wrong, maybe it will be fantastic and super polished and we can all breathe a sigh of relief bcs they got their shit together! That would be nice.
Edit: I do want to say I'm glad it has been 3 years instead of the usual 2, and I'm VERY glad they didn't announce gen 10, but unless the scope of this game is narrow as fuck and they also don't release until like November-December 2025 AND this team was NOT the same team who worked on ScarVi's DLC that is still not enough time to make a game with the scope they've been establishing as their new baseline. TOTK took SIX years to finish. Elden Ring's DLC was built on top of an existing game and it still took TWO whole years just to make it. Most open-world games take a really, really long time. Adding an extra year is great, but they need to be taking a lot longer than that between games. This is a step in the right direction, but it's not enough to inspire confidence.

WHAT A VOLUME
SO MUCH DRAMA?? so many twists and turns..... i literally love this season and im not afraid to say it anymore. literally there is so much to unpack this volume its actually crazy
MOST IMPORTANTLY. RAPH AND DAPH GOT DUMPED. an incredibly ballsy move from fusebox that i really respect. it really increases the stakes this season knowing people as relevant as them could get dumped. dont get me wrong im gonna miss raph so much... its just so unexpected that it works. the safe choice wouldve been for one of the useless/irrelevant couples to be dumped (ehem.. bonnie and joyo) but they dumped one of the strongest couples of the villa. super ballsy
Estelle (LIs ex) making up SHIT so that our LI would sleep on the day beds. funny crazy and a little immature? yes yes and yes. entertaining? HELL YES. i know some ppl on r3dd1t will complain about this, but who cares, its a game, its a funny and entertaining. besides, our life with out LI has been literally perfect since casa, and im so thirsty for any drama. i love it. plus we get to clear up the drama and ofc make up sex bc lets be real weve had like 10 opportunities to have sex in the villa
ALSO RAFAEL SNOGGED MC IN THE CHALLENGE. I didnt want to choose rafael because i wanted to be "respectful" but he ended up choosing MC anyway... omfg i screamed.
UMA BEING UMA AGAIN. okay im 100% on her side. she has done nothing wrong ever in her life. i know this and i love her. but its literally so crazy that they didnt really give any indication that raph was rejecting uma's advances. implying theres more to raph than we thought...... hes not as loyal as he says he is......
BONNIE AND JOYO literally acting like kids (theyre coupled up in my game). it makes so much sense considering they literally have ZERO connection in my game. i love that not everyone is mature and Right all the time and that some characters.... literally do the wrong thing all the time
JOYO BEING IN LOVEEEE WITH MC. i love ittttt. lots of LIs have had "crushes" on MC in the past but its never been this explicitly acknowledged. i really love how it opens up another slow burn route with joyo which i will probably play in the future ... nyehehe
okay lastly something I found weird.. the game says whoever we "marry" has significant impact in the future episodes. does this mean we cant graft and couple up with anyone else?? that would suck but also.. eh. its a weird thing that i wish didnt really have much impact because its literally just like a challenge
okay this was much longer than i thought but i think after all these years and seasons, ive never had a volume impact me THIS MUCH. there was so much info and so much drama. im so optimistic for the next volumes although tbh i dont expect them to top this one....

Uchiha Madara personality (Chapter 624 - 625) part 3
As mentioned in part 2, Madara goes to battle with Hashirama.
While this is headcanon territory, it would not surprise me if Madara was pretty much suicidal at that point in time. The loss of Izuna, his clan in shambles and his dreams meaningless, would make it a rather plausible option.
He is a resilient individual (growing up in war, losing three brothers) but Izuna “meant the world to him”.
*Note: the following scans are fan translated, not the official ones as I only own the german version in physical format.
I honestly love the translation here tbh, it really gets across just how important Izuna was to Madara.
Madara and Hashirama clash. Take note of Hashirama’s expression there to the left - it’s chilling.
Madara loses the battle after a whole day of fighting and seems to quietly accept Tobirama’s judgement, before Hashirama intervenes.
This indicates that Madara was held in high regard as leader for the clan (but whether it was before or after Izuna’s death is up for debate, and if that view persisted if it was after Izuna’s passing) Madara at least seems very sure on the fact that no one “views me with such regard”
While this is a fan translation, I actually prefer it to the official translation when it comes to Madara’s words at the bottom left corner. “You know…that’s no longer possible…” actually suggests quite a few things about Madara, namely how he has given up so entirely on the possibility of their “wishful thinking” ever becoming reality.
In the german version Madara says “Das geht nicht…wir sind…” (“that won’t work…we are…”) in the first speech bubble.
But is it truly too late for them to turn around? Madara’s thinking here is rigid, absolute and “black and white” in its certainty that, yes, it’s not possible for them to achieve their dreams. Not after so much war and death.
The tough guy act from Hashirama is another interesting comment tbh. It can be something that was just said in this moment, and is more of a throwaway line than holding any significance, but it could also suggest something about Madara’s character (if maybe skewed as this is from Hashirama’s eyes and they have been fighting for over a decade since the river confrontation).
Madara offers Hashirama his ultimatum in an attempt - spiteful and cruel as it is - to once more trust the Senju clan.
What is interesting here is Madara’s expression. He watches Hashirama with a calculating and cruel gaze (probably aware of the choice Hashirama will make) that translates easily into “so you are willing to go this far eh? Well then…show me”
While I would like to talk about Hashirama here, I won’t at this point in time (that is for a separate post about Hashirama’s character).
Although, “speech bubble wise” Hashirama is no longer the unsure child/teenager back at the river confrontation, gotta give credit where credit is due.
Judging from Madara’s expression he looks tired, his earlier gaze of contempt has softened slightly when seeing Hashirama so easily agree to his condition to trust…him (as in Hashirama, not the Senju themselves)
It is made clear that Madara said what he did out of pain and grief. He does not want Hashirama to kill himself (Tobirama might be another story, but at the same time…he does not want anyone to go through the pain he had to go through with his beloved brother dying)
I’m sorry but no, this is not noble…ultimatum or no. This is a post about Madara, but I just have to say that Hashirama is…naïve and selfish is what I want to say. (They all are selfish, but Hashirama is not thinking twice about the fact that he is endangering his clan in this moment). Honestly, would Madara and Tobirama not been at each other’s throats had Hashirama succeeded with this stunt? Tobirama killed what was most dear to Madara.
The anime version below really captures Tobirama’s horror at having to watch his elder brother kill himself in front of him!
As much as they disagree with one another, they are still brothers and they do obviously care for one another…
And Madara goes back on his ultimatum when seeing that yes, Hashirama is willing to go through with killing himself to spare himself the pain of killing Tobirama (while hurting Tobirama in the process…)
Madara’s words indicate clearly that his words were a test, spoken out of grief and hurt, in the end. This indicates that Madara, despite everything, is compassionate and (paradoxically) kind at heart.
Maybe its here that Madara contemplates a world without suffering?
Their dream is made a reality at long last!

also because zhongli kinda likes the idea of shielding him while he rest (he’s a shielder in-game and perfect for xiao)

but also because he’s not very straightforward when it comes to his desires but being held is very nice and he likes it - and thinks that he likes it a bit too much

xiao has exactly one set of clothes that still survives until today so no lending anyone anything
zhongli has clothes, a lot of them and he would love dressing xiao up and he does and takes great joy in dressing xiao in all the pretty clothes he would not let himself wear

zhongli has a list of pet names and he loves to use it and uses it very liberately and he especially likes it when xiao is flustered by them

xiao cannot cook and i subscribe to this hc
the only way for him to cook is to give him an extremely detailed instructions on how to cook but unless it’s really simple dishes, he would screw up
zhongli knows how to cook and takes pleasure from cooking and caring for xiao but his cooking is very long and tedious and xiao doesn’t like long waiting time and such but he never says a word because zhongli looks very happy when he cooks and when he tries to feed xiao

xiao isn’t a big fan of pda but zhongli is and he takes every chance to heap love on xiao

Hi Jenn, you've said that authors should wait about six months before querying the same agent with a new book. Boy oh boy that seems like an eternity for prolific picture book writers. If agents are inundated with manuscripts, do they really remember authors that have previously submitted and were rejected? Help me out here :-)
As for "do we remember" -- well, Query Manager shows in bright red at the top of your query if you've queried before, and if I click on that I can see the whole history -- when, with what, how often, how many other agents at the agency, what the outcome was, etc. So, yes.
People who don't use QM will probably remember the ones that had a lot of promise, or the ones who creep them out, but yes, random "just ok" ones not so much. However they will certainly notice if they see your name/bio over and over again. I used to keep all my old queries in an archive and if somebody sounded familiar, I'd just search them up in my email box and see all the old queries.
As for "length of time" -- Six months would be great. Four months, eh. Sometimes maybe it's a little less than that, but please, be judicious. If you are querying the same agents 5, 6, more times a year, that's... that's a lot.
You think it seems like an eternity, but from the agent perspective, agents who accept PB text submissions are *drowning* in them. It's a nightmare. That's why many agents CLOSE TO PB SUBMISSIONS, tbh, because it's an absolute flood. PLEASE. I am BEGGING YOU.
Give it some space between queries. As much space as you are able. Sit on your hands if you have to. Better yet, try writing something longer to both keep yourself busy and diversify your portfolio -- and bonus, that just might give you NEW people to query, too! :D

I just finished the archon quest.. and.. UHUUUUUUUU WHYYYYYY 😭😭😭

Tbh, I wasn't that fond of Furina when I first met her in game. I guess she was an okay character for me? Though her personality was.. interesting to say XD Though I didn't like Fontaine's culture of making a trial look like a show because.. well, being in trial at a court is a serious thing.
Anyways, further along the story, a part of me did think Furina was possibly pretending, but I couldn't of a reason why. I also thought that maybe Neuvi was the real Hydro Archon? But then we find out the truth and... Gosh. 500 years of having to pretend. I feel that. I feel for Furina. Furina the human. And for Focalors the divine to sacrifice herself, and ohmygosh. Her message for Furina before she vanished. To live her life. UHUUUUU I CRY. THE PAIN. THE SORROW. UHUUUUU 😭😭
And after finishing the Finale, I don't know where she is. Like, is she okay? What will she do now? Will she return to Fontaine? I haven't started her companion mission yet. Will probably find out soon but it still makes me think. SHE NEEDS A HUG!! TT
Also, I thought the big fight would be.. well, bigger. I feel like the fight was too short for me XD And I need to know what happened to Childe while he was in there!! I want to see it with my own eyes!!! And why did he leave so soon after the battle TT (I missed Childe huhu)

Does it mean that Fontaine doesn't have an Archon anymore? Why does Sigewinne look more human than her fellow melusines? And that thing with the Gnosis being "remains of the Third Descender"?

But maybe we're getting closer to more stuff about Celestia and stuff 👁️👁️ I'm curious what was going on with Childe though. What did the guy do in there.
Focalors is dead + Furina is fully human now without a curse and she's not presenting herself as the archon, so I guess they don't have one? But Neuvillette has the archon's power so?? YEAH I'M JUST. I DON'T FEEL VERY SATISFIED. Maybe because I don't want to leave fontaine too but it felt so short 😭 And it actually IS shorter than Sumeru's. I'm hoping there's still a biiit more, I'm not ready for fontaine's stories to end :(

I ranked all of Invader Zim's episodes + movie (because why not?)
So recently I decided -- very spontaneously -- to binge all of Invader Zim. The show, that is, not the comics (although I do need to do that at some point). I hadn't seen Enter the Florpus since it released in 2019, and I hadn't watched the show in a longer time than that, and since I'm a stressed out little gremlin I just kinda went "Hey, why not?"
And it was a good time! I see more flaws with the show than I did as a kid/teen, but I still enjoyed it. I think this was the only show I saw as a kid in its entirety cause in every episode there was SOMETHING I remembered, and it was also a lot of fun to see Florpus right after seeing the show since it meant I could directly compare them.
Partway through this binge project I decided, "I wanna do a ranking of these episodes, that seems fun." I was originally going to do it on a tierlist, but then once I made this blog I decided it would be more fun for me to just dump it here instead in a list format and with some short thoughts of mine on each episode.
From worst to best:
Rise of Zitboy (Ep.9B)
The concept for this one wasn't really great to begin with, and the execution wasn't much greater. It's basically just an extended gross-out joke, and it wasn't a funny one imo.
Career Day (Ep.6A)
A great concept for an episode I feel wasn't executed the greatest. I laughed a couple times, but it was too gross-out focused for my liking.
Gaz: Taster of Pork (Ep.26)
Felt like a regular episode forcefully extended into a double-length special.
Voting of the Doomed (Ep.25B)
Like Career Day, this had a great concept but eh execution. I think this is considered the worst episode by fans? I don't agree with that entirely, but it is weak.
Door to Door (Ep.14A)
I remembered this episode being one of my favorites as a kid, and it's still alright, but not as good as I remembered.
The Sad, Sad Tale of Chickenfoot (Ep.16B)
I remembered this episode being not great as a kid, but it was better than I expected.
A Room With a Moose (Ep.7A)
Dib should've let those kids face the moose tbh.
Future Dib (Ep.13B)
Good concept, decent execution. If it was given another rewrite it could've been great.
Walk of Doom (Ep.2B)
AKA the favorite episode of everyone making Gir line compilations on YouTube in the early 2010s.
Lice (Episode 17B)
Dib seemed weirdly out of character in this one and Zim probably should've gotten more play, but it was still enjoyable.

Mysterious Mysteries (Ep.13A)
I find the implication that Zim actually accepted an invite to appear on a human TV show funnier than I should.
Hamstergeddon (Ep.7B)
The only reason Zim failed is because he tried this plan on a hamster. If he tried it on a DOG then he would've won, easily. Dogs listen to you, hamsters only seek to cause mayhem.
Battle Dib (Ep.6B)
Considering how little his dad was around at this point, it's amazing Dib knew as much about him as he did.
The Wettening (Ep.5B)
One of Zim's most effective plans, and it was just to get back at Dib for splashing him with a puddle. Incredible.
Bestest Friend (Ep.3A)
Keef scares me.
Parent Teacher Night (Ep.2A)
Has probably the single funniest Zim shriek in the whole show.
Bolognius Maximus (Ep.11A)
I've seen some weird stuff in cartoons, but I'm not sure anything can top "Turning my enemy into sentient bolognea to defeat them."
Battle of the Planets of Doom (Ep.15)
Pretty good episode, and it reminded me that the "Face on Mars" is a real thing.
The Girl Who Cried Gnome (Ep.24A)
Moofy's screaming can get to be a bit much, but otherwise this was a stupid episode in a fun way.
Mortos Der Soulstealer (Ep.23A)
Shoutouts to Dib who was so focused on stopping Zim he didn't even consider trying to show off Mortos to prove demons are real. Kid has a helluva one-track mind and I relate.
Vindicated! (Ep.25A)
More like Mr. Dicky. Got'em.
Invasion of the Idiot Dog Brain (Ep.8A)
All things considered, it's incredible that Zim had the patience to stand Gir piloting the house for a full year.
Bloaty’s Pizza Hog (Ep.10B)
It's a good thing Zim never targeted Bloaty's at all. Gaz would've ended the whole show in 10 minutes if he did.
Gir Goes Crazy and Stuff (Ep.19A)
I keep thinking this episode is called "Gir's Gone Crazy and Stuff" which lead to two of my friends misreading it as "Girls Gone Crazy." Oops.
Germs (Ep.4A)
Zim being a clean-freak is the funniest character trait he's ever been given. I will not be taking in outside input.
FBI Warning (Ep.14B)
This episode made me afraid of renting things as a kid.
Backseat Drivers from Beyond the Stars (Ep.22)
The scene between Zim and Dib when Zim realizes Dib is in Tak's ship is the funniest interaction in the whole show, both performance and animation-wise.
Dibship Rising (Ep.24B)
Dib faced less consequences for a robot him wreaking havoc than he did when he threw a cup of punch on the ground
Dib’s Wonderful Life of Doom (Ep.19B)
And the award for the Most Hilariously Petty Act goes to.....Zim!

I can't believe Skoodge was voiced by Ted Raimi.
The Frycook What Came From All That Space (Ep.27)
It's unfortunate that the show was cancelled, but this wasn't a terrible episode to end things on all things considered. Almost made things feel like they came full circle...almost.
Game Slave 2 (Ep.11B)
At the time, this probably came off as Gaz being unnecessarily cruel. Nowadays, Iggins would fit right alongside the other Gamers™ so I can say with certainty that he deserved it.
Dark Harvest (Ep.4B)

This episode is stupid. So, so stupid. It's also incredibly funny and is the first episode that comes to my mind when I think of Invader Zim.

The crew really hit the ground running with this show, huh?

Real talk, this was a great balance of humor and genuinely telling an interesting Zim story.

I love that Zim's final plan was just to let himself get the shit beaten out of him to distract the drivers from his ship. Zim may be dumb, but he's smart dumb.

Tak: The Hideous New Girl (Ep.18)
Easily the best episode of the original show imo. It's just really well-written, even if it does take a little longer than you'd expect to get to the real meat of the episode. Also, I probably quote "Your head smells like a puppy!" the most out of any Invader Zim line. No I will not elaborate.
Enter the Florpus
Everything that made the original show great but in HD and with some genuine heart to it. I do prefer the original designs from the show itself (sharp angles for LIFE) but the coloring here is just so pretty I hardly mind. If this is the last animated Zim thing we ever get, it's a great note to end things on.
