the medium really is Something because enstars, especially in !! era, does a lot of things for shock value. ritsu pulling out that giant automatic gun in setsubun festival, the outlandish settings of the SS tournaments. there are... a lot of things done just because. things done just to catch your eye

#at this point its just part of the charm but it raises some questions #at its worst it comes off as. oh you do not know how to make a story w these characters seem appealing #without putting them in an unbelievable scenario #like. black bunny #and aforementioned gun scenario was just comic relief ok #but setsubun is a great story on its own i dont think it did much good #it is well known for what it meant for 2wink thankfully but i wish it were famous for that and nothing else #because it distracts you from the actually important part of the story #it's of course a great way to sell it: 'haha look funny ritsu rei cards!'#but it adds nothing to the story itself #same goes to the ss settings #the dessert itself didn't add that much to sandstorms #but enstars and settings makes for another post #that im already typing on a diff tab #enstars #mar's midnight rambles
