Isla was happy that she could raise her children so that this war will not shape them and they can be who they want to be.

And yet here we are. Both of them shaped by wars and fights. AB vs OB, against the warden and Perix and now again against each other. The war of the Realms again.

Thinking about how badass it would have been if at some point before running away with her kids, Isla had had an Alicent Hightower moment.

You know the one - the Green Dress Moment where everyone at court could see the queen publicly declare her solidarity with her own house and her not standing with the Targaryens without ever speaking a single word.

Thinking about Queen Isla Morningstar, who'd never fully sworn off the blue colour of her own kingdom's flags but had never been seen not clad in copious amount of goldwork embroidery and gold jewellery since her wedding to Kimg Fable, appearing in front of the court in a flowing blue gown, orchids woven into her hair, no gold to be seen but instead silver beading in the shape of stars and moons, blue sapphire jewellery and just - a speck of Blue in the middle of a court of Black and Gold. Like a piece of the ocean or the sky shaped into a person.

Do I think she actually would have done this, especially heavily pregnant, with an about five year old child already in the world and with plans to flee the god she married for the good of her people? Not really, I feel like from context clues we got in lore thus far she wouldn't have been so reckless to be so openly performatively supportive of Morningstar over Gilded since it'd effectively be a declaration of independence and rebellion against Fable whom she feared and she had other people's safety to think of as well, namely her children. However -

It's a very satisfying thought.
