Imagine if the police stormed into southern Los Angeles in militaristic tanks. Bystanders watch in horror and shock as the police blast buildings and throw grenades into them.
"We are liberating this neighborhood from evil gang members," the police explain as children scream and cry. "They are using innocent people as human shields."
A man runs into the street with a bloodied child in his arms and without missing a beat a policeman shoots him.
"I knew he was a gang member because he's a man, and a non-white one to boot." The officer does not pay any mind to the child lying in a pool of blood. "We will keep shooting everything that moves until the gang members march to the police station and turn themselves in. At which point we will kill them. Given that knowledge, I'm sure their surrender is imminent. And if not, it will be their fault when I continue to shoot people. Not mine!"
"The gang members embedded themselves in the civilian population," he continues, "living in civilian houses and selling drugs and guns out of residential buildings, so what option do I have but to destroy everyone and everything here. I am but a helpless pawn. Do not deny it, lest I tell you about all the policemen killed by gang members, which I'm super sad about. We, the police, are the victims. We, and no one else."
Behind him a policewoman rams an apartment building with a bulldozer; it crumples. More screams--some from inside, from from outside as more fleeing people are shot down.
"Ah, how peaceful it will be when all the gang members are dead and no one feels rage or aggression towards our squadron." The police officer turns away as a woman weeps over her husband's body. "Now if you'll excuse me, I must set the corner store alight, shut off the utilities to the neighborhood, and raze the hospital. I have it on good authority that the Crips go there to tend their booboos."
(Free Gaza now.)

You should not reblog aid that includes UNRWA some of its members have been confirmed to have taken part in the 7th October massacre and terror attack. The money does not go to civilians but to Hamas directly which only leads to further suffering for palestinians especially UNRWA child soldiers and queer people
Please don't put misinformation in my inbox. Thanks.

With all the reblogs I’ve been doing for donations for families to leave Gaza, families to get supplies in Gaza, giving doctors medical supplies to help civilians in gaza, and so, so, so many more, you cannot tell me the system isn’t fucked.
The fact that we, many of whom are barely making it through the shit fest that is the American economy, are the ones funding and donating in order to keep these people alive when billionaires, celebrities with millions, pro athletes with millions, and every single rich motherfucker on this planet that could single handedly pay for every donation I have reblogged and every donation I have not reblogged and still afford to love comfortably are not fucking donating a fucking cent is proof that the system is fucked
That’s not even going into the fact that this shouldn’t be fucking happening in the first place and that the us and every other coward country that supports the genocide in Gaza are the ones who are ruining the lives of hundreds of thousands and watching from their little glass boxes as Gaza is glassed and Palestinians run for food or shelter only to get shot in face.
It’s so frustrating not being able to donate to everything I reblog. It’s frustrating that there are people who could meet the goal to these donations without a single repercussion to their quality of life but they won’t . It’s frustrating that so many countries could stop the genocide but they won’t.
So fuck them. They aren’t getting a single cent from me. It’s all going to Palestine. It’s all going to the Congo. It’s all Sudan. It’s going to every person you were too much of a fucking coward not to help. I don’t give a shit about your music or your big game, not when you don’t give a shit about all the people dying in Gaza.
Fuck you and Free Palestine.

So Israel spent the last month lying and making up fake self-victimising stories and expect us to believe that they didn't kill their own hostage, showed tunnels in Sweden and said they were under Al Shifa, put their own laptops with labels and passed them off as belonging to Hamas somehow fully charged with no passwords, showing us the days of the week poster and saying it was a list of Hamas people, lining up weapons neatly against a wall and ughhh I can keep listing the kindergarten level setups they've done to convince impressionable people but please use your brains.

The discourse about Sarah J Maas being called a Zionist is giving witch hunt vibes at this point. Nothing I've seen has been conclusive at all. Just because she's a Jewish woman who went on birthright doesn't mean you should loudly denounce her as supporting genocide.
I am a Jewish woman who is pro-Palestine — so, not a Zionist — but who loves her Jewish diaspora culture. I have anti-zionist and non-zionist Jewish friends who went on Birthright because it's a free trip abroad. I know Jewish people who are staunch Israel supporters and I have Jewish friends going to pro-Palestine protests. Jews are not all one thing, and in fact it's ingrained in our culture that we have NEVER been one thing. There are Jews of all races, of all levels of religious belief, across the political and socioeconomic spectrum, scattered across the world.
If I were a semi-public figure (I say semi because Sarah has been clear that she is not the one posting on her public accounts and she doesn't have much interaction with fans outside of tours) people would probably have loud assumptions about me being a Zionist because I am publicly Jewish, I was a Jewish Studies minor in college, and I used to work at a synagogue. Guess what? I'm not a Zionist. I donate to UNWRA monthly, I do my clicks for Palestine, and I do my best to support with what I have. As a multi-disabled person that's all I can handle right now. If I were a semi-public figure I don't know if I would feel comfortable posting anything publicly either, because people are vicious and terrifying creatures. Sarah has a husband and child. She had gotten threats about fucking ship wars. This is so much more intense than ship wars.
Making these loud assumptions and calling for boycotting SJM, commenting on her social posts even though she isn't the one reading those comments — this is what antisemitism looks like. I know those of you who are angry at Sarah won't want to hear that, or will say that 'everything is antisemitic now' — which is a refrain that should raise red flags since it's the same argument other people use about transphobia, homophobia, racism, etc. You're the good guys, you support Palestine and you're anti-genocide and so on. But using stereotypes about an ethnic group to make assumptions and harass an individual of that ethnic group is not a good look even if you're convinced you're doing it for a good reason. Take that energy and put it toward spreading awareness, contacting politicians, attending protests, maybe even sharing messages from public figures who have posted publicly.
I understand that a lot of non-Jews (and a small number of Jews) are saying that it "has nothing to do" with Sarah being Jewish, it's just that she hasn't "used her platform." I implore you to consider why you are seeing and sharing such anger toward this one (fairly private) Jewish woman and not toward other prominent authors, especially those who are more active online, who have also not spoken out. Do some soul-searching and many of you may find that because Sarah is Jewish, you feel that she owes you a public stance more than other people. Because she is Jewish you feel confident enough to make an assumption about her views and post publicly about these assumptions. That is antisemitism at work. That is why this feels like a witch hunt to me, and why it is upsetting to watch.
As a reminder, I am pro-Palestine. I am not posting this to defend anyone. I am posting this to remind everyone that Jews are not all Zionists. Jews are not all one thing, ever. And deciding you get to hand down judgement on a Jewish person who has not shared their views publicly is antisemitism. It is deciding that you can assume negative things about Jewish people from afar. It is deciding that some antisemitism is actually okay — good, even, if you think it's warranted. I understand that people have other qualms with her writing, but those are not tied to her Jewishness, they're tied to her doing things like using the name Illyria and Illyrians for her ACOTAR series, etc, which is the kind of thing other fantasy authors have done over the years. Doesn't make it good or right but it certainly doesn't have anything to do with Palestine or Zionism.
If you disagree with me, please do not send hatred into my inbox. I am asking you to interact with this post thoughtfully. If your disagreement is going to be an explanation of how Jewish people owe the world every ounce of our energy, health, safety and lives, please step away and take a breath. I do not share your opinion. I have great admiration for those risking life and limb, risking jobs, risking arrest, to support Palestine. However, not everyone should be *required* to do all of those things, especially if you're disproportionately expecting those larger actions from Jews, thinking we "owe" it to the world.
Also, I want to be clear: This is not really about whether Sarah is a Zionist. It's about the fact that we don't know, and you cannot pretend to know. Most of the arguments I'm seeing are making a lot of assumptions, and that is the part that makes me uncomfortable.
If Sarah ends up being a Zionist, I still stand by this post, because it isn't about defending Sarah, it's about my hurt and disappointment in seeing people make assumptions rooted in antisemitism, assuming someone's views based on Jewishness and little else.

An urgent international investigation must be opened into horrific crimes committed by the Israeli army during its land incursions into the Gaza Strip, including field executions, torture, and rape threats, said Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, citing testimonies collected from newly-released civilians.
Euro-Med Monitor said that Israeli army forces are reenacting the same crimes committed by Zionist gangs during the 1948 Nakba, which resulted in the collective displacement of Palestinians. These crimes include premeditated murder, setting fire to Palestinian homes and properties, torture, and insulting and humiliating detained civilians.
The human rights organisation highlighted the Israeli forces’ brutal storming of civilian homes in crowded residential neighbourhoods during the ongoing genocide. Members of Israel’s military terrorised and beat residents, plus arrested hundreds of them, including women, children, and sick people.
According to testimonies gathered by Euro-Med Monitor from several detainees who were newly released, the Israeli forces took the detainees from their homes, stripped them naked, and attacked them with machine guns, electric cables, and cold water.
Sixteen-year-old Muhammad Mahmoud Aslim told the Euro-Med team that the Israeli forces stormed his family’s home in Al-Shuja’iya neighbourhood, east of Gaza City, after they were trapped for an entire week without food and water. He stated that over the past few days, Israeli forces killed everyone in his neighbourhood who tried to leave their home, including Aslim’s brother.
Israeli forces later stormed his family’s house, said Aslim, and destroyed its contents with heavy gunfire. His family members were gathered naked and handcuffed before being violently assaulted and beaten. Aslim still does not know what happened to his mother and sisters, who were captured and kidnapped by the Israeli army.
The Euro-Med Monitor team has gathered statements and testimonies about Israeli special forces raiding refugee centres in Gaza City and its northern areas, which housed thousands of displaced Palestinians. These raids have involved the execution of young men who were shot with live ammunition at point-blank range.
Displaced people at the Cairo School, which houses hundreds of displaced people west of Gaza City, told Euro-Med Monitor’s team that several civilian cars carrying Israeli special forces stormed the school yard the day before yesterday (Friday), killing and wounding a number of unarmed young men. According to the testimonies, the Israeli special forces ordered all of the men in the school to quickly gather and line up opposite them. Four of the men were executed, and the others were arrested after a brief interrogation.
Muhammad Abu Mustafa said that three individuals—two from the Abdul Ghafour and Abu Zaid families and one from his own family—were shot and killed by Israeli snipers after they went to assist a neighbour in Al-Shuja’iya neighbourhood. The victims were left bleeding to death.
Similar violations were reported on Saturday by other internally displaced people at the UNRWA-run Khalifa Bin Zayed School, in the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahia. They reported that the Israeli forces arrested dozens of men and minors in the school. The detainees were stripped of their clothes, bound, and taken to another location, where they were interrogated and tortured. Some of them were released, while the rest were kept in custody.
One of the released men, who requested anonymity for fear of retaliation, said that they were ordered to take off their clothes after being handcuffed and blindfolded. They were then put in trucks and taken to the seashore, where they were kept shackled for about 19 hours. According to the young man, they were subjected to insults, severe beatings, threats of being shot in the head, and had numbers written on their hands. They were also deprived of drinking water for many hours.
Upon their release, they were transferred naked to Salah al-Din Street, south of Gaza City, where the soldiers ordered them to walk on foot towards the central areas of the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli random arrests also targeted a young disabled man who suffers from hemiplegia. The young man had been displaced from Al-Zaytoun neighbourhood in Gaza City to a relative’s apartment in the city centre before he and his brother were arrested; their fate remains unknown.
Ms. M.Z., a resident of Al-Zaytoun neighbourhood who was displaced to Shuhada Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir Al-Balah, in the southern part of the Strip, said that an Israeli soldier pointed his gun at her head and threatened to kill her even though she had told him she was five months pregnant. The soldier ordered her to take off her clothes and threatened to rape her.
As it continues to document testimonies from victims of the Israeli army’s crimes and random arrests, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor renewed its call for an urgent international investigation into Israel’s violations and crimes against civilians, and called on the United Nations to assume its responsibilities and provide a safe passage for the displaced to use to evacuate.
Israel is required by international humanitarian law to take all reasonable steps to prevent harm civilians and to guarantee their safe shelter. The Geneva-based rights organisation emphasised, however, that civilians who choose to stay in areas designated for evacuation do not forfeit their protection, and cannot be singled out or targeted for any reason.

good lord you talk about gender affirming care like an asshole
do I?? please elaborate. like I'm planning on getting top surgery, I'm seriously not sure what I've said that was mean.
I only said gender affirming surgery isn't considered necessarily most of the time, many trans people can live happily without it. it's important, and it can be lifesaving for some people, but it's still a(n expensive) cosmetic surgery. gender affirming care is way more than just surgery, social transitioning is in some ways more important than medical.
please tell me where and why I sounded like an asshole because that wasn't my intention, I'm serious, I try my best to use inclusive language and to not offend people even by mistake.
