the longer i work as a child educator the more i strongly feel like it's really just awful practice to post specific anecdotes about the children you work with to social media. not only out of respect for children's privacy but also because i think that it's just really not good to tie your mindset when observing your kids to a mindset of looking for content to post about. if that makes sense.

#this is one of the big reason i just really dont talk much about my job on here #one reason i get so pissed off abt self-avowed childcare workers doom posting horror stories about their kids on here #is that i dont care whether its true or not why would you just throw it out on ur personal social media #to an audience of ppl who largely will not understand or empathize with your kids and your struggles #like i think anyone who works with kids can probably understand that posting alarmistly about their behavior on tumblr #is not going to breed nuanced empathy or awareness for their situation. its just going to get op notes.
