In Petrila, a Romanian mining town, an ex-miner uses art and absurdism in a struggle to keep history alive.
The efforts of Barbu are creative and often funny. And his cause to preserve at least part of the historical heritage of that area is worthy.
What is missing is some larger context why this is happening, especially why there is so little constructive dialogue between the parties.
There are some hints that maybe corruption is an issue. But the focus is mainly on Barbu. It's still a valuable historical document.
Side note, people who work in mines are often very proud of their jobs, often for generations. But as seen in the doc, the work and the dust in the mine looks just insane.
what it says on the tin! Funky robot dude who comes tangentially from my old DnD campaign. Audio sample was taken from Part 02 of the English Dub of Mr.Freeman. I just really had that episode stuck in my head at the time and I ended up loving how Paun’s design sort of churned out from this exercise.
I was broken but you stood by my side. Helped me up put me back together. You stood by me as I was out looking for my world but I was too blind to see that my world had been standing next to me the whole time.
