i actually already answered this question here, so i will give an honorary mention for this ask, in addition: i am a big fan of the whole tgm-mav-lowkey-being-the-daggers'-friends'-cool-dad trope. like. the idea that they get to know him after the mission and he's obviously taken a genuine interest in all of them and their wellbeing so they all just...stay in touch. the idea that the call and check up on him when they know rooster is deployed, that they start to leave a few extra things at mav's place because he usually hosts their squad movie nights and it's just easier to crash there sometimes, that they realize he doesn't have many people to spend the holidays with now outside of obviously bradley, and they all come together and drag him to a surprise christmas party with them before they go on their own leave for their respective family christmases. that's their emotional support old navy captain and if u wanna mess w him u gotta get thru 11 daggers and 1 son first so good luck!!!

that being said, tho, it can go too far i think, if we're not careful. barring a couple specific circumstances (jake and whatever fucked up childhood/non-existent parental relationships he has had comes to mind) the daggers all have families of their own, and entire lives before meeting mav. i don't think he's like. their DAD per se. he's their friends' cooler than expected dad ('your dad is an ace? that's so cool! i wonder if he has any stories to tell us! he once flipped off a mig while inverted? THATS SO COOL') that they can become friends with and look out for too, and i KNOW he'll be looking out for them. if they need anything he's right there, because that is within his nature. but for the most part, they're all adults who have friendships, and not like. Extra Children. if you know what i mean. except for jake idk i think he needs a role model or something but i guess that makes mav a secret third thing to him idk

24. what other character from another fandom reminds you of them?

oof that is tough!! i think that on most levels, mav is very different from the characters in other fandoms that i have imprinted on the most, so i'm not going to be able to do a 1:1 comparison here. but believe it or not the very first character that came to mind for me is ezra standish from the magnificent seven tv series, and it's not an exact match but i'm just going to provide my presentation on the matter (i am specifically comparing tg86 mav with ezra bc i have no one to compare tgm mav with lol):

horrible quality images (yes i did make these gifs but theyre very old so lets not talk about it lol) bc this is an obscure 1990s b-budget tv show shot on vhs probably. but this guy right here is either the second or third youngest member of his found family group (the seven ~lawmen~ a local circuit judge hires to manage an old west territory because it's so dangerous the sheriff and deputy he'd previously appointed ran out on the job). he's very accomplished at what he does, for his age, and has had way too many shitty life experiences and is much too world-weary already. everyone who works with him comes into it with a preconceived notion of how he's going to be. and how could they not? it isn't that the other six guys are short-sighted in assuming, exactly. ezra is direct about who he is and what he stands for, downright in your face about it, actually. you expect him to be kind of an arrogant asshole, and he tells you he's gonna be one. and then, for a while anyway, he kind of is.

loner type, doesn't need anyone, he's going to do everything his way because he knows best, needlessly theatrical about it in the process. they expect him to run out on them during their battle, and he does.... kind of. but he also comes through for them in a critical moment when he's needed most and they least expect him to do it, single-handedly taking out multiple enemies to save their lives. immediately, he adopted into the group, essentially, but ezra doesn't know enough about really having friends to recognize that it's happening until much later. additionally, his entire life and livelihood is overshadowed by his mother (who can be seen sitting in the bg of the larger gif), who is still very much alive, in his case, but whose actions and words define him, whether he wants them to or not. he had a shitty childhood bouncing between a hundred strangers' and distant family members' homes alike and is just overflowing with abandonment issues, and he expects the other six to give up on him at the drop of a hat, but they never do.

the very first time i ever saw top gun was before tgm was ever a thing. i remember my favorite character being goose (isnt he always tho <3) and thinking mav was kind of a bland action hero guy with a story arc i did not understand at all or care about. i was like fifteen, tho, and hadn't seen hardly any movies or tv shows at the time because i had a kind of weird sheltered from media sort of childhood, so i don't think i had rly learned HOW to watch and interpret media and characters yet, tbh. when the sequel was coming out i rewatched top gun with my partner in preparation bc my parents were making me watch the new one, and they had never seen it. i was like oh !!! he's smol and traumatized. i bet there's fic about him and that blonde guy. i should look that up later. and then we watched tgm and that was it for me. i was like never mind him and that blonde guy i need to know if hIS RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS SON TURNS OUT OK......MY HEART..... and that was that lol. my dna has not been the same since <3

Using new crafter announced in minecraft life 2023. Largely doing this because I can because it has like 0 use. This however was a fun excuse to experiment with block. Hopefully this inspires some actually useful stuff. If you want a different farm, feel free to ask. Anyway, here are the details on this atrocity

first element is the bamboo farm

This one observes each shoot, cutting it down (as well as one to left and right) as soon as gets 4 blocks tall. Below that hopper minecart collection system with.

You can replace with nay other bamboo farm, in fact, if you want to speed this farm up, bamboo farm is the first thing you should upgrade

Now, the stick crafter

From the barrel output get pull to stick crafter first. The stick crafter pushes them to a hopper. The hopper is hooked up to a comparator, then the signal is inverted and allied to crafter.

In practice, this means when hopper has no item, the crafter on and when it has an item, the crafter is off. Meaning, as soon as the stick leaves, a new one is crafted and put back in the hopper. Stick have priority from bamboo form, so we don't have to worry about the crafter running dry. (unless you add plans manually)

However, the plank crafting setup does not have priority, so it has a different set-up

Here, the comparator is hooked up to a comparator directly. Each slot in crafter comparator results on 1 redstone signal sleight. The slightly longer loop. Up to 6, this signal just climbs thought the wire, doing nothing. At 7, it loops back to comparator turning into a clock, this nothing plugged to any out, at 8 power the first crafter, however 8 bamboo doesn't craft into anything to it's still non-functioning. Only at 9, when the crafter is full, it fires both crafters, crafting 9 bamboo to a block and the block into 2 plans

Both plans and stick are transported to final crafter

This one is checked with input hopper for plans. Every time the hopper build enough surplice produce signal straight of 2,an ace is crafter. Because we get 2 plans a time and axe uses 3 plans, we don't have to worry about hopper over flowing and breaking the cycle.

Finally, we can add a bit of lava to get rid of unless axes

Hey when you were designing your Neo how did you make your design choices? Why the style choices in her clothes. The suspenders? Why the top hat instead of a bowler? Any detail of her design no one has pointed out that you really adore?

Oh! Not long ago I actually gave a brief explanation of what was going through my head when I designed it!

The design of the clothes is specifically like a mix of elements from her first outfit and the second one.

From her waist down, we get the pants and shoes from her V6 design, alongside the ice cream charm AND the suspenders, even if this time around, they are longer and connect to the pants, rather than her top! (and of course, I love suspenders to increase the classic 'mafioso' vibes)

While her upper side consists of her grey scarf (that was also inspired by V6's design as well, even if my Neo has had a matching scarf with her Roman from the start) and a top inspired by V2-3's design but with inverted colors (where it was white before, it's now pink, and vice versa), plus, the return of the corset.

Small differences are that she rolled up her sleeves even if non-rolled sleeves are still similar to the V2-3 design, and her gloves are of a darker color as of V2-3's BUT with small decorative (and metallic) pins with her symbol.

When it comes to the hat, there's a whole story behind it- my Neo actually spent time in the Ever After once she ascended to help the Afterans. What Alyx couldn't do, she did. She needed to heal further before going back to Remnant despite having a reason to, and long story short, after development and shenanigans she ends up befriending Somewhat and Juniper.

In a symbolic way, her last wish and effort to heal from Roman's thing, was to gift Somewhat with Roman's hat. Like she didn't need to cling onto the hat forever to remember or honor him- the fact she had her memories with him or that she will always remember him or what he meant to her, were enough.

So she ended getting herself a new hat before going back to Remnant. It's meant to represent the Mad Hatter- my Neo DID become the Mad Hatter of the Ever After in a way, even if her possession 'scars' symbolize the Cheshire Cat too more as a reminder.

The J(oker)abberwalker card is the ace under her sleeve (in ref to how she can clone the Jabberwalker with her Semblance and it's been symbolic in V9 for her), but that's p much it.

If I actually had to point out a detail I really love from the outfit, it would be the ice cream charm. That idea is not even mine, it's from V6's outfit as I said, but it usually goes so unnoticed that I really wanted to make it more visible and obvious in a good bunch of my designs.

And as a side note, the whole decision of mixing both of her designs in a way, is also a symbolic way of her accepting both, her past and present.

5. You are not obligagated to put anything in your bio. pronouns? optional, sexuality? optional, nothing has to be there. I take the route that everyone is aro/ace and non-binary until proven otherwise. Do check their bio before you use any pronouns though, its just good manners.

6. the search feature is god awful, it doesn't even do a keyword search. Avoid it at all costs. I tag stuff with what media it relates to/what it's about if i think I'll want to find it later.

7. Tags are for your semi-private thoughts. if you want to put your thoughts in the world for people to see but not necassarily be dragged along when someone reblogs it from you or make a joke you might not want everyone to see.

8. It's a bit more text focused stuff here than Twitter and Reddit twitter has the character limit and Reddit is... Reddit. Don't be afraid to post a 8 paragraph essay or whatever. At least your mutuals will see it.

9. You might want to have a personal tag for when something is queued or for when you add something to a post. I inverted this rule with my catch-all tag of "#zt adds something" for me it just marks when something is NOT queued as a concidence whenever I don't add to the post (reaction image, character analysis, HCs, etc) that goes in the queue.

10. The queue! the magical place where I shove all my random reblogs so they get spread out over the day. It exists, idk what else to say. Use it, or don't I'm not the boss of you.

Modron, Tridrone

[In the original Monster Manual 2, the tridrone was illustrated point up. Nowadays, they’re usually illustrated point down. I decided to make this variety canonical. Of course, modrons are too hierarchical and cooperative to turn this into a star-belly Sneetch situation, but I could see rogue modrons fighting about it.]

Modron, Tridrone CR 3 LN Outsider (extraplanar) This bizarre creature is a trilateral pyramid, with each of its three lateral faces bearing a single eye and mouth. It has one clockwork arm and two clockwork legs growing from each of these surfaces, all tipped with nimble clawed digits. It carries a spear in each of its three hands, and rotates constantly to scrutinize its environment with different eyes.

Tridrones are modron drones that are skilled at thinking in three dimensions. They are capable of obeying three directives at once, a great enough sense of behavioral flexibility to seem almost normal to mortals. Tridrones are often scouts and porters, able to cover a wide array of terrains with ease while carrying a heavy load. Tridrones scuttle up and down the buildings of Regulus constantly, hauling building materials to be assembled by monodrones or relaying observations to quadrone or pentadrone superiors.

A tridrone is capable of climbing on practically any surface, and they usually fight from a ceiling or wall to stab down at their opponents. They are more likely to make hit and run attacks than lesser modron drones, and their whirling combat style has a strange grace to it. They can fight effortlessly with each of their three arms, preferring to carry a single piercing weapon in each hand. A tridrone can make combat plans and execute them with orders to its monodrone and duodrone subordinates, although they are somewhat limited in their scope and creativity.

Some tridrones appear as inverted pyramids, point facing down, whereas others appear with their point facing up. There are exactly even numbers of both of these varieties in existence. Primus is engaged in an experiment to determine which configuration is the more efficient one. Both types cooperate in order to best serve the goals of the modron collective, but minor friendly competition between point up and point down tridrones does occur.
