was thinking abt the couch doodles from daydream hour and then i thought what abt toshiros party and so i drew it to show exactly why it wouldnt happen. also since these r supposed to be set in a modern au i think, and idrk how to translate the nakamotos' dynamic to a modern setting.

while drawing i realized how. he doesnt really belong anywhere, like theres a distance between him and his retainers, and even if they sat With him instead of stand it wouldnt be real. he cant sit w the touden party bc theres new additions hes not close with. hes buddies w namari but she has her own crowd now

also i got the 2024 daydream hour doodle book on digital (in japanese) hoping to see new toshiro things but i think the only new thing was a little comic about lettign laios try a type of jp bbq, which is still enough for me ill take any crumbs im handed

……………… so I went looking for Rin’s backstory for reasons again

And guess who was the one who kidnapped baby Rin after her parents were murdered in front of her?

Flamela

Flamela specifically grabbed baby Rin

Rin’s not keen on elves or Canaries in general and then it’s the weirdest and tensest week in the dungeon and Kabru’s missing and Her Personal Bogeyman is fucking back trying to kick them all out

And yeah it kinda makes sense that Rin specifically and Kabru’s party in general are basically missing from all the arguments on the first floor of the dungeon

And that Rin makes this face when Flamela bumps into her right before Hole O’Clock

And then she’s gotta hang out in the dungeon for 2 days with JUST Shuro and Flamela

But she can recover enough to be sassy! Well done Rin!

(Poor Shuro has just been Suffering the entire time he’s used to hanging out with just women but not to those women berating his ass)

Also honourable mention to Inutade and these two elves right here

Elves: this just in it turns out I am INCREDIBLY into large women 😳

Also Shuro just preparing himself for burial he’s so over this whole thing. He’s definitely coming back with the most interesting story out of his brothers

oh hey for anime onlys/ppl who havent read the adventurers bible, a bit of trivia for yall. this isnt super spoilers bc it doesnt really. come up at all? it doesnt appear in the main series At All (that i remember) but does inform a lot of the way they interact: Maizuru (the lady with the cool wing-sleeves who was cooking shuros meal/doting on him) is his governess, and also his dad's mistress. it was apparently an open secret in the household.

because of this, shuro kinda resents her, tho its pretty subtle in the series (kinda hard to tell from him just being world weary and upset at being babied)

so uh. yeah no its not just "ugh im an adult stop treating me like a kid", theres also. this. I would really reccomend reading the adventurers bible if you can, its got so many little things that add depth to the characters, even ones we barely get to see in the series. with this, im pretty sure it doesnt come up at all otherwise! warning tho that the bible DOES contain spoilers for some pretty late series stuff (like, literally up to 10 chapters before the end or some shit) so if youre anime only thus far, i would rec either reading the manga or WAITING for the bible.

also, gonna throw this in too: this part is SLIGHT spoilers just for izutsumi's backstory, but yep, the family literally bought her. and didnt treat her amazingly for that matter (mostly in terms of being super controlling and trying to "discipline" her). ill also include this bit on inutade bc it sheds a bit more light on the dynamics among the group (inutade also having been bought)

and, heres another comic from the section on ogres later that goes into her inutade a bit more
