What’s the craziest allergy I’ve ever diagnosed. I had a girl who came in and everytime she would have intercouse shw would develop anaphylaxis (hives, problems breathing, vomiting, passing out) and I thought she was having latex allergy but she never use any condoms or type of latex products. It was actually quite interesting when we figured out what exactly was causing her to have allergic reactions. Turns out she was actually allergic to the sem*n itself. There’s actually a cross reactive protein and we can treat it with giving the patient little bits of that allergen all the time. “So they had to have sem*n everyday? Yes and it’s actually done intrav*ginally too”.

#TheAutoThugOgraphyOfTurk 📚Dropping Soon Who Ready To Pre-Order??? Here Go A Few Excerpts ... The doctor had come to make sure my infection was properly being treated and I was absolutely not interested in what he was saying to me. I had another kind of sickness!! What I did find interesting, was the 'heparin lock' that was inserted into my vein on my hand, and neatly taped down. Dr. Alewyne changed my IV-line, and when he detached it from the heparin lock and turnt to retrieve a fresh one I noticed the convenience of the 'heparin lock' still in my vein to receive more 'Intraveous Fluids'. This gave my 'Monkey' who was always a genius, A MARVELOUS IDEA! Dr. Alewyne did his thang while I laid there faKing the perfect-patient. But in my head I'm cursing Rat-ass out for taking so fuckin' long. I even blew his phone up a few more times but now he wasn’t answering!! I'm up and on my feet with the IV-still rolling besides me as I stood at the window searching to see if I could see Rat, I had my cell-phone still inside my hand trying to call Rat --- when he peeks his head into my hospital room. " Turk, what's Thuggin? "---" Nigga bring your slow-ass in here. "---" I said almost tripping over the IV-stand, as my 'Monkey' became excited at the thought of having his sickness removed. Rat Turnt back towards the door making sure it was secure, while simultaneously extending to me my kit. " Here nigga, you need me to catch you or what?" --- Rat said in a whispering-like voice, as if not to let the hospital traffic in the hallway hear. " Knawl, just, catch that door---and don't even open it up for God." My 'good ole' doctor done taught me how to get 'loaded' like 'A Professional'."---" I mumbled sarcastically while removing my IV-line from the 'heparin lock'.

Higuchi's age is unknown, right? So is her ability, backstory, etc., and. And a lot of information (side character type beat).
I'd guess that she's somewhere in her young 20s at oldest. Given how young the main cast is, I'd be more surprised if she was older.
She seems very. Normal? Compared to the rest of the cast, I mean. Just a girl and her gigantic guns. Decently well put together as a functioning member of society if you ignore all her quirks regarding Akutagawa.
Kunikida was a math teacher/tutor, alongside part time work at the ADA before he officially began full time employment at the Agency.
You follow me?
I'm just saying. Kunikida could've taught Higuchi math. It's possible. You gotta believe me here. It could go something like this ->
A younger Kunikida, to a younger Higuchi (and whoever else was in the classroom): -given this diagram, now derive the double angle formula for sin, cos, and tan. This will be important for tomorrow's test.
Younger Higuchi, who still doesn't understand how to calculate percentages: Do what for what.

When are we getting... a Higuchi arc... It has to happen. I'd be more shocked if it didn't.
Bungou Stray Dogs is a monthly series, yes? The author and editorial team can't afford to waste chapters on events that don't help progress the story (it's not a luxury that weekly or biweekly manga necessarily have either, but its a bigger deal in monthly series since they have to take longer to release chapters; and it's arguably more difficult to maintain consistent, dedicated readership when people may have forgotten the events from previous chapters released months ago). Even the chapters that feel like breaks from the action, or the ones that focus on side characters more, help push characters around, advance the narrative a little, and show readers another perspective. Take chapter 44 as an example, which puts Fitzgerald and Louisa in center stage.
So the fact that the first chapter which doesn't feature the main characters focuses on Higuchi is particularly eye-catching. It helps characterize and humanize the mafia characters as well, but the focus is primarily on Higuchi. Because Higuchi is set up as the first antagonist, and chapter 14 gives us a peek into her life. Again, this is a monthly series - chapter 14 was super early in the manga run. The implication is that Asagiri has bigger plans for Higuchi, which have yet to be revealed.
Watching her get sidelined is inevitable. The cast is huge. Asagiri has to cater to readers - Higuchi isn't popular, and she won't make money the same way Chuuya does. But I hope she gets her own arc like Tachihara did.
Hopefully whatever plans Asagiri had for Higuchi will continue to be implemented in the manga - chapter 14 was a long time ago, and plans can change over the years. I want to see an exploration of her life leading into Port Mafia and more about her little sister. Ability reveal... when...

my suspension of disbelief is suspended like mykola's (nikolai's) body in the new DoA color spread. he has such insane core strength! it's impressive enough being able to support all your body weight with a one handed bar hang, but he somehow manages to do that and position himself in a way that looks like he's casually sitting on air...? there's no visible tension in his body, he looks very relaxed... this guy is strong far beyond average, what the fuck. he has to be ripped underneath that outfit. think about the (delusional) implications here!
Tumblr media
what is his workout routine. seriously. I want him to drop it.
for references:
this is how harukawa explains how he's holding himself up (image attached below for those who can't open the link):
Tumblr media
and this is a video with a guy recording himself doing the bar hang with one hand for over 2 minutes. skip to around 7 minutes into the video, and you can see him try to adjust the rest of his body to a posture about halfway to the one in the color spread (albeit more realistic and nowhere as casual; this guy's grip slips and he falls shortly after).

In light of Link Click season 2 coming out (first episode is supposed to drop later today) alongside Bungou Stray Dogs season 5 from earlier this week, a crossover between them could be intriguing. They're both about supernatural abilities, and their settings are supposed to be similar in how people with such abilities aren't common enough to be public knowledge.
...Or at least that's how Dazai puts it back in chapter 1. The story is pretty inconsistent on this detail, so maybe Asagiri forgot. Not sure how that's going to impact worldbuilding given recent events in the manga. From the official translation:
Tumblr media
For Link Click, you can find the setting and synopsis translated here. (Funimation also translated the synopsis, though not the context behind the setting.)
It might just be a difference in how we see abilities being handled, though. In Link Click, it does feels more like a secret, because Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang don't talk about their abilities openly with other people and we don't meet many characters with abilities. In Bungou Stray Dogs, nearly every character seems to have an ability.
Link Click is set in China (though we will get to explore more going abroad with the characters in season 2), and Bungou Stray Dogs is set primarily in Yokohama, Japan. If they were to take place in the same universe, then characters would likely meet while Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang (the main characters of Link Click) were abroad.
It'd be pretty cool. Both Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang would do well together in the ADA. Not sure how they would mesh with the Bungou Stray Dogs characters. It's worth exploring further.

Watched the last episode of season 5 with a friend! Overall, it's a good season finale. There's a lot of stuff going on simultaneously, but there's a lot that needs to be wrapped up to move on anyways.
Aya jumps off, yeah, we know... Fukuzawa and Fukuchi have their old man yaoi fight, more reminiscing of the past... Fukuzawa used One Order to save the world, Fukuchi dies, Fyodor is questionable, Sigma is on the floor... you can watch the episode.
Thoughts and questions I had throughout the episode:
Fyodor's lack of trust is, well, in character. Thought it really helps highlight the differences between him and Dazai, in how he refuses to put trust in Nikolai too.
Who is "that man", Fyodor mentions? In Japanese, he says 「太宰くんはあの男以来の敵」 which conveys the same information as the English subtitle. So like... whomst. What guy. Chuuya? Eh. I don't think so.
Chuuya's acting is really good! Maybe he got that from Lippmann. It also recontextualizes the whole thing with Dazai as this dramatic bitch moment.
Did they just leave Sigma behind? Bro???
What's going to happen to Nikolai then...? It'd be funny if he joins the ADA, but I don't see that happening.
Bram being Aya's knight is. Huh. This is the only Vampire Knight I will accept.
A lot of good quotes and references in the conversation between Fukuzawa and Fukuchi. One Order is the last thing Fukuchi left to Fukuzawa, so of course he can't get rid of it.
Who SENT the code 36 years ago? Natsume? Someone else?
Akutagawa's costume upgrade looks cool, but that's out of left field.
The last enemy wears a mask that reminds me of Fukuchi's mask from the Decay of the Angels colorspread. Food for thought. I don't think it's Fukuchi, but it could be his body being manipulated like a puppet.
Love Teruko. Her scene this episode was moving. Tecchou is alive too! The Agency is fine for the most part, nobody there seems to be dead or in a questionable state of not living, though we don't get to see Yosano this episode.
Um... is Jouno dead??? Did I miss that?

I went on another manga shopping trip.
Tumblr media
I got the art collection book! Another volume might release in the uncertain future with more updated art, as this one is from 2016... hopefully it'll have more museum collab works featured, and more character design sketches.
Since I was going to buy the one book for BSD anyways, I ended up ordering a bunch of other stuff to make the shipping more justifiable.
Tumblr media
I got manga special editions for Frieren volumes 7-11 (didn't get special edition volume 6 because I have no use for the 2022 calendar bonus), Blue Period volume 11 (special edition volume 8 was sold out by the time I was making the purchase) and Toilet Bound Hanako-kun volume 20. Picked up the novel adaptation for Twisted Wonderland Episode/Book 2 while I was at it. I've heard high praises about the novelization, so I'm really looking forward to reading it!
I like collecting special edition manga bonuses, if it wasn't already obvious.
The Frieren pins are pretty colorful! I'll try to fit them on my itabag if I have space.

Dazai can be so miserable. He reminds me of when shit gets worse before it can ever get better. Like a little void opened inside, and you can't shake the feeling that you feel nothing. You're numb to feeling, dissociated from reality, and there's not much you can do but wait for it to pass.
You're empty. How else can it be described? You feel isolated in a prison of your own mind. Dazai's like that, but on loop.
It's hard to put it in words, when it feels like that. Spiraling, maybe, the sort of existential angst at 5am while you watch the sun rise alone before you return to bed. Close to the kind of noiseless crying you do so that you don't bother anyone. Staying at a polite distance away from everyone.
The thing is, though - it can get better. I know it can, because it did for me. I think that's the big change in Dazai, that he has moments he can recognize as "good" for him, where life can be worth living beyond the meaningless absurdity of drifting by.

My friend posted a picture of a Dazai cutout he found at an animanga store. And. I have to go visit now. It's unlikely they'll have any merch I want there and I know they don't sell the light novels, but I'll be in the area in a few days, so. I might as well stop by to get a picture with Dazai at least. I think he's there to promote season 5, and will likely be gone within a week or two.
The last time I was there, me and my friend found a bunch of books with Bungou Stray Dogs anime character dust covers on them - part of a collab, I think, maybe to help spotlight the works written by the original authors.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cropped images of some of the books we found! Yeah, the books are in Japanese.
...I can not think of an explanation why they would have these books but not any of the light novels.

I was out with my friends and we went to an arcade. They had a bunch of crane games, and hey, it's like legal "gambling" with an element of "skill" (the legal advice is to not gamble).
Somehow I ended up winning this massive, white stuffed bunny. It's about 3 feet tall, wider than I am, holding onto faux stuffed ice cream. It's not heavy, per say, but it's really big.
Kyouka would like it for sure. I'll finish drawing her with the stuffed bunny, and as per course, Atsushi would be the one carrying it.

Do you ever think about. Like. Crime and Punishment in Japanese is 罪と罰, and 罪 can be used to mean crime or sin.
There's obviously a difference between a crime and a sin, where sin has more moral and religious connotations while crime refers to legal wrongdoings. To Fyodor, though, crime and sin might mean the same thing (as used in Japanese).
So. Food for thought. A sin is a crime against God, or something. I want to know what Fyodor thinks about that.

I'm binge reading Jigokuraku, and something about the way Gabimaru acts especially at the beginning of the story reminds me of Dazai.
Obviously, they're different characters in the end. Still, I can't help but wonder if Dazai could've been a little more like Gabimaru, invested in his living for some one or another purpose if he met someone else (unlike Odasaku) who he was interested in. Someone that genuinely believed in the goodness of other people the same way Yui does. Dazai would first have to be convinced of the weight of his own life, too, but. I think it could be possible, and whoever comes out could still be Dazai.

So. Kenji. Chapter 100.5? His best friend being buried alive by a flood. There are a number of thoughts I have on this.
It's likely a reference to the kids who died in the Toyosawa River, when IRL Kenji was a student in elementary school. One of his classmates was caught up in the river. (This was also featured in Night on The Galactic Railroad, where the protagonist's friend Campanella is lost to the river.)
We don't get a clear image of Kenji's best friend. For all we know, they could have been someone as old as Fukuzawa, or a cow. The chances of them being around Kenji's age are unlikely, I think, given what little we know about where Kenji's from.
Kunikida talks about the flood as "a long time ago". The flood likely occurred many months or even years before Kenji joined the ADA; at that time of speaking, Kenji would have only been in the agency for 2 months, and 2 months ago isn't exactly what I'd consider "a long time ago".
I want to see more details about him and his past, but I don't think we'll be hearing from Kenji in the manga for a long while now... perhaps in season 5?
