Some recent summer albums I’ve been listening to. Some forgotten classics that I discovered many summers ago… Definitely an odd eclectic mix of styles. But all of them definitely go great with being stoned on a hot murky summer day.
1. Faith No More - Angel Dust - I actually listened to this album for the first time a month ago! I only had The Real Thing when I was a young teenager, and I must have skipped over Angel Dust. For me it was lost in the sea of hundreds of other 90s grunge and alt-metal bands coming out at that time. However, The Real Thing was a perfect summer album for the hot suburban thriving concrete jungle of Dallas / Plano in the early 90s. And now finally discovering Angel Dust years later has been absolutely mind blowing like a 90s time capsule surprise that my high school self left my “Mid Life Crisis” much older self! It’s a perfect continuation of The Real Thing. Angel Dust is definitely a perfect 90s album ahead of it’s time!
2. Sausage - Riddles are Abound Tonight - I was a massive Primus fan growing up and this Les Claypool side project was a fun album that came out summer of 94. Just a cool chill album that is like Primus with a more stripped down garage sound. This album was a treat for me who had been listening to Pork Soda on repeat for a year. Happy times with my new girlfriend that summer riding in the blue Buick.
3. Laibach - M.B. Dec. 21 1984 - A somewhat obscure and bizarre live recording of Laibach in 1984. A very dark, raw, and brutal ambient sound from them on this recording, but very cool. It was the first Laibach album I ever bought and it was during the first summer I was dating my Slovenian girlfriend. It was a magical and wild summer with this odd and curious sexy new girl… The music sounds like some kind of Nazi Chainsaw Massacre ritual. It definitely seemed out of place for summertime love but somehow it fit my newfound curiosity and obsession with this unusual new girl. So it became a soundtrack album for that summer. For me the sounds bang into a mixture of hot concrete and metal, and sexual drive on late steamy summer nights.
4. Wasted Youth - Regan’s In - I recently heard Dave Lombardo recommend them saying that early Slayer would listen to this type of stuff. Interesting Pushead artwork too! Good ol west coast skater punk like Black Flag, Circle Jerks, ect. is perfect for hot summer days, stoned, bored, watching old movies, convenient store junk food, comic shops, skating and biking, being frustrated with the heat…
5. Wild Style - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack - I discovered this film and soundtrack many years ago. I have always been into east coast grindhouse theaters and NYC history, and basic east coast sleaze in general… and this album captures that grimy hazy street feeling. This album is fantastic early east coast hip hop. I love the instrumental drum and bass sample tracks the most and what I listen to the most. I only watched the movie a couple times extremely baked, so it’s blurry, but I’ve enjoyed the soundtrack much more. I go back to this album at least once or twice a year.

TØP Weekly Update #142: A Formidable Album (5/21/21)
Tumblr media
So... how 'bout that album release week?
There's so much to cover; the release of nine new songs, the hype that's building for the World's Best Band to return to the stage, and (if we're able to come up for air) the massive speculation of what the future brings for our band.
I'm gonna get right into it, laying out my thoughts regarding this bold new album and covering all the most notable news from the week. I'll be sharing my (mostly) positive opinions about Scaled and Icy under the Read More line; I hope they're the start of a fun conversation with all of y'all who have stuck around through this last year.
Scaled and Icy Review
Tumblr media
First, my general thoughts on the album: It's good! Really good. Do I think it's a no-skip like Vessel or a cohesive piece of art like Trench? Absolutely not! But it's also not the potential misfire that I worried that we might be getting when I first heard "Saturday" (more on that later); I think all of the songs are at least good, and some of them are downright great tracks that hold up with anything else that our band has ever released. It is also indisputably very different, but I think that generally works pretty well. Many of the songs evoke '60s rock or Britpop sounds and structures that you can tell Tyler is still trying to navigate, but I think he does a very solid job at adapting them to suit his strengths- namely his lyricism and knack for melody- rather than change to suit them. Unfortunately, this does result in a bit of square-peg-in-round-hole syndrome at times; most of the rap verses on the album feel like they're here just to fulfill an obligation to fans who would be mad if they weren't here, and most of the songs that use them are the weakest ones in the project.
"Good Day" plays a major role in getting the rest of the album to work as well as it does. Its gradual ramp-up, introducing the sound that will be used throughout the rest of the album. Its playfulness belies its message about how one can project a somewhat false optimism for oneself in the midst of tragedy: the type of dark stuff in a bright package that Tyler is so so good at. It's perhaps not an instant classic, but I am excited to see how it comes across when it's eventually used as a show-opener. 9/10
I've of course already discussed "Shy Away"; an anthemic, inimitably catchy track that I just wish had a bit more going on under the hood. Still going to be so good to hear thousands of voices scream "An 'I LOVE YOU' that isn't words!" someday. 9.5/10
"Choker" definitely took a little bit to grow on me. I think part of that was a bit of disappointment from over-inflated expectations and the environment I was in when I first heard it. With further listens, I fall more and more in love with the melody of the song... well, most of it. Like the rest of this album, the biggest weakness in the song is when Tyler tries to tick the box of having a rap verse; it just feels really out of place, unfinished, and almost amateurish, and it doesn't end the song on the note that it really should. Without it, it'd be one of my favorites on the album; with it, "Choker" is a solid 8.5/10.
Speaking of unfinished-sounding songs really hurt by their rap verse: "The Outside". There's a definite something to the vibe of the song, but that seemingly nonsensical verse is one of the two weakest parts of the entire project for me. The way the song meanders only adds to the feeling that there wasn't as much energy and attention paid to it compared to other parts of the project. It's pretty easily my least favorite track on Scaled and Icy, and the only one I might regularly skip. I've also seen plenty of people saying it's the best song on the album, so please tell me why I'm wrong! 6.5/10
"Saturday", as mentioned above, had me really nervous about this album. Like "Choker", it's grown on me a bit since I first heard it, in part because it fits better with the context of the rest of the album. However, this one really does feel undercooked lyrically and overreliant on the novelty of using a disco-inspired sound that seems to chase trends more than almost any other TØP track. The inclusion of that very sweet audio clip from Jenna boosts the song in some ways, but also adds to the disappointment in others; there are many other songs on this project that would be more worth surrendering time watching Friends. Thankfully, those come next. 7/10
"Never Take It" is fascinating. I never thought I'd hear a Rolling Stones-style song from Tyler Joseph featuring a gd guitar solo of all things, and it actually sounds pretty great. However, I also predict that this song will see some of the greatest critical scrutiny out of all the songs on the album. The lyrics seem to be Tyler's criticism of the media for playing up division in our society, but he's extremely vague when discussing which entities are spreading said division and ultimately recommends that people "educate yourself, but never too much". I'll be honest: maybe it's the fact that it sounds like something my dad would listen to, but it feels like this would get tons of play on Fox News. Since it makes specific reference to the events of last summer, it's hard not to feel like song is at least partially inspired by Tyler's brush with cancellation last year. Maybe I'm reading too deeply into it, but those reservations come from the song's lack of specificity, which is an issue of songwriting more than politics. They hold me back from truly loving a song that still manages to be one of the most exciting the band has ever put out. 8.5/10
"Mulberry Street" seems like the perfect realization of the entire album's intended tone. It is so pleasant, so lush while also simply produced, full of great lyrics, metaphors, and imagery. It really brings the whole project together, even if it's missing That One Line to really move this up to the top tier of the canon. 9.5/10
"Formidable" is the best song on the album and one of two songs I would truly rank in the top tier of the band's canon. Extremely pleasant and brimming with well-crafted lines to make your heart swoon. Jenna (and Rosie) is (are) a lucky gal(s). Or is it about Josh? Who's to say? 10/10
"Bounce Man" is just plain wild. I think Tyler's smuggling someone to Mexico to escape the feds? The playfulness of it all really covers up any frustration I might have with the clarity; it makes it clear that there's not really stakes here, just vibes. 8.5/10
"No Chances" sees the album take a turn that I'm sure the Reddit Clique is going to have an absolute field day with; it and "Redecorate" both sound quite different from the rest of the album and evoke enough elements of Trench to make me think that's it's actually possible that all this 'SAI is Propaganda' stuff might actually have something to it... until I actually pick apart the lyrics, then I'm even more confused. The song has some of the best rapping on the album, though that's not saying much (the feng shui line is a groaner right out the gate) and the gentle pre-chorus is really pleasant. I still haven't made up my mind on whether the chorus is effective or just plain goofy. This one might get worse or better on repeat listens, impossible to say for now. 7.5/10
"Redecorate" rounds out the album by opening with a Clancy quote (Tyler, you bastard), firmly setting this as a coda to Trench more than the album we just listened to. The rest of the song is really storytelling, with Tyler describing a bunch of people who are struggling deeply. The idea of "redecorating" here stands for how they are faced with the option to clean and resort their own spaces and lives or leave that to their loved ones to do after they're gone. By the time it gets to the album's name drop, you begin to wonder how much of this is potential autobiographical of the last year. It's moving stuff, a callback to some of the great strengths of the band's discography. 10/10
If I average those scores all up, this project ranks below almost every album among the Pilots discography on my rating scale, very narrowly edging out Self-Titled. That's still a very solid 8.6. Scaled and Icy is a very good album on first listen. We'll see how I feel about it after having a little more time to sit with it, but I've rambled enough: let's move through the rest of the week's news.
Other News
Tumblr media
Of course, there was a lot else going on this week! To accompany the release of "Saturday", Zane Lowe over at Apple Music dropped an interview with Tyler. As usual, Zane did a pretty solid job of getting to the heart of the craft and the creation process. However, Tyler also wound up skirting a lot of the questions to just talk more about how much he loves being a dad, which makes me happy; if the cost of getting a little less attention and mental energy devoted to the music is that little girl getting all of his attention, that's honestly preferable for me.
The album rollout is not even close to over. Later today, the concert will be streamed live. It's our first real performance that we've gotten from the band since 2019, but the previews that we've seen have completely exceeded any of my expectations, and really anything that we've seen from the band. It appears that they've transformed the entire arena (which I think is the ol' Schott at Ohio State) into a whole TØP world, with different sets laden with Easter eggs and a cast of backup dancers. If the website can hold up to the traffic (and I acknowledge that might be a big ask), this could really live up to Tyler's promise of this being the best livestreamed concert ever.
Oh, and this guy dyed his hair pink.
What a time to be a fan. Catch you all tomorrow.
Power to the local dreamer.

Top 11 Albums of 2020
Much like my top EPs of 2020, this consists of all the albums that came out in 2020 that I really enjoyed. I just did a small description of my favourite things about these albums, and for all of them, I highly recommend them.
11. Weird! by Yungblud
This one was a very big surprise for me because I generally don’t like the type of music Yungblud creates (a more punk/pop rock-ish sound), but many of the songs on this album made me fall in love with it. Yungblud knows how to use his voice to inflict raw emotion that gave me goosebumps particularly in his song “mars,” “teresa,” “love song,” “it’s quiet in beverly hills,” and “god save me, but don’t drown me out.” These are for sure my favourite songs on the album. He has such an interesting voice and even my least favourite songs, I can still listen to and enjoy because they evoke other types of emotions that really resonate with me.
10. Rare by Selena Gomez
Next we have Selena Gomez’s new album after a five year hiatus, which now feels like it came out a million years ago, but it was just last January (a little more than a year ago). I also had quite a few songs that I liked on this album and the whole theme of mental health and finding yourself I really enjoyed. Not all of the songs were my favourite which is why it’s lower on my list, but many of the songs also grew on me more as time went on. Almost all of them are also really catchy so I found myself singing them in my head at random times, which also made me realize the genius of some of these songs.
9. Leave It Beautiful by Astrid S
Like Selena Gomez’s album, this new one by Astrid S had a lot of good singles that I fell in love with even before the album came out. But when the album came out, I wasn’t as impressed with the rest of the songs, even though some have really grown on me with time. I think I was just wishing for some more ballads and stripped down songs like from her Down Low EP. But besides that, this is Astrid S’ debut full length album, which in itself is really exciting since I’d been waiting for this forever.
8. These Two Windows by Alec Benjamin
Next is Alec Benjamin’s new album, which definitely has some songs that make me pause and give me goosebumps. I really liked how on this new project, Alec Benjamin had some more interesting and different production styles in the songs, so they weren’t all the same, or very similar, styles like in his last album. By that I mean that he used his voice in different ways and there were cool sound effects in the background of the songs that added something extra to them. Although that being said, I think I have to say that the last album had superior storytelling skills than this one, and even though I really did like the lyrics in these songs, in the last album I felt like there was more of a variety of topics and stories that I missed in this album.
7. Wonder by Shawn Mendes
And finally Shawn Mendes came out with a new album this year too, which was really exciting. I overall thought that this album was really good because it was so different from his older stuff. I know that some fans didn’t like this album for that reason, but for me I thought it just made it better. Shawn Mendes is still growing as an artist and I liked seeing him try out different styles of songs that he wouldn’t normally do in his other albums. When “Wonder,” the single, first came out I was sold on this album, and I liked how he did have a theme of wonderland and love and wonders about life throughout the album. It made it feel like a very complete project. (I also loved how there was a song called “Dreams” on this album and Camila Cabello also had a song called “Dream of You” on hers!)
6. Loves Goes by Sam Smith
Sam Smith’s new album was also long awaited, especially when I thought it was coming out in the first half of 2020 instead of the last half. But I can’t say that the wait wasn’t worth it. I was worried that Sam Smith was going to do a whole pop album, but instead I was very happy when they came out with many songs that are still slower ballad heart-wrenching pieces. Most of the songs I really loved, and I also kind of wished that they had an album with none of the bonus tracks from their original album since I felt that just the new songs made it feel more complete, if that makes sense. But even with the old songs that aren’t really my favourites still there, the new songs definitely make up for it.
5. Confetti by Little Mix
Little Mix’s new album is absolutely stellar. I loved so many of the songs on this album and I thought it was all done really well. They were all really fun and make you want to dance and sing along, while still being original and different from their older projects (although some songs take inspiration from older ones which I also liked). They did release a lot of the songs before the album even came out, and I got a little nervous because when that happens, I usually like the singles more than the other songs on the album, but that didn’t happen here. I loved the non-singles probably more than the singles, which I didn’t think possible. They also played around with different production sounds in this project, which I also thought was a very smart idea, and this album just makes me love Little Mix more and more.
4. Only Child by Sasha Sloan
Also a very anticipated release, I was almost in tears when Sasha Sloan said she was finally releasing his debut album this year. I have been obsessed with her EPs for a long time and now having a full length project is such a treat and she definitely did not disappoint. All of these songs on the album are amazing and so many of them are so relatable it almost scares me. I really don’t think there is a song on this album that I truly dislike, and every time I re-listen to the songs, I find a new love and appreciation for them. These songs just feel so personal like a diary entry, which also makes them feel so powerful, and even though Sasha Sloan is known for being a sad girl, this album also has a lot of happy songs when talking about love that made me smile.
3. Heartbreak Weather by Niall Horan
I was very surprised with myself for putting this album in the top three, but I really have to say that I love it so much. I was not even expecting to have a Niall Horan album on this list, but this album took me by surprise in all of the best ways possible. This is the type of album you can just continuously listen to on repeat because all of the songs are different and so good that you just never get sick of them. I love singing along to all of them and I’m obsessed with almost every single song on the album (which usually doesn’t happen with long projects like this one).
2. Folklore & Evermore by Taylor Swift
I put these two together because they do feel like one project and I needed to talk about them as one. First off, I’m just obsessed with the lyrics, the production, Taylor Swift’s voice… you name it, I love it. These albums are just perfection in every way, I can’t find any bad things to say about them. Also the fact that we were gifted with TWO albums instead of one is amazing, and the fact that they have different stories in them with literal characters is also superb. I don’t think there is anything negative or something I don’t like about these and I feel like you can just look at anything a Swifty says to know what I like about these albums.
1. Manic by Halsey
And finally my favourite album of the year, and probably of all time, is Halsey’s Manic, which makes me smile just thinking about it. This was the exact project I dreamed of getting from Halsey and she delivered in every possible way. I loved all the different styles of music in here and every lyric that she wrote. Listening to the album all the way through on repeat makes me so happy that I can’t ever turn off the music until it’s run through all the way. And just having been on this journey with her for this long, makes it so much more special because you understand all of the little meanings in the lyrics and the story that she’s telling. This is definitely my favourite album from her and my favourite album ever!
And that concludes my top favourite albums of 2020, and I also have a top favourite list of EPs if anyone’s curious.
Until next time!

Choice Tag 🌵 🦋 🍀
Rules: Answer the questions (if you want to skip one, feel free to do that too of course!). Tag 3 people (or more or less, you choose really). Tag your post with #CHOICE_tag so we can find each others’ posts! Have fun!!
I got tagged by @slowlydiving thank you so so much I really wanted to take part in this one!!! <3
I'm tagging ... who? @morganasandhya ? are you a choice!??? I'm sorry I can't think of anybody WHO HASNT ALREADY BEEN TAGGED ADHVJLWDH if anybody following me considers themselves a Choice and has in fact NOT been tagged yet please absoloutely go ahead and say i tagged you.
1. Introduce yourself. You choose how much and how little!
Hello!~ I'm Alexander (or Alex. or Husbert as I use on tumblr) and I go by He/They pronouns.
2. How and when did you become a CHOICE?
Oof... so I actually already liked A.C.E predebut since I found their busking videos on YouTube. Back then I didnt know their names and just thought of them as 'guy with the cute smile' (donghun) or 'guy who's clearly just vibing' (Seyoon) or 'guy who knows he's hot shit' (jun) lmaoo.. so it must've been around 2016 that i discovered them? I only properly started stanning them when they actually had their debut though
3. What is your favourite part of being a CHOICE?
I'm actually not super deep in the fandom (so really thanks a lot for tagging me despite that!!!!) but I think overall we're a pretty civil fun little bunch of people who are generally nice to mope around and just simply stanning a wholesome group like a.c.e who continously put out great stuff is the best!
4. What is your favourite A.C.E song? Do you prefer their title tracks or b-sides more?
5. Who’s your bias? What do you like about them?
Oh god why would you ask me this... they don't have any bad songs nnnnnnghhh. I think recently I've been listening to Take Me Higher the most just simply because it fits the season so well? Underrated summer bop! <3 Also Stand by You. Aaaand the Butterfly Phantasy album is my favourite album of theirs generally that one was on repeat for like two weeks straight. bUT THEIR OLDER STUFF IS SO GOOD TOO LIKE SO SICK OR THE ENTIRE UNDER COVER ALBUM OR- cbwjefbhI SHOULDNT HAVE ATTEMPTED TO ANSWER THIS.
I like both their titles and their b-sides pretty equally.
6. What is your favourite thing about A.C.E?
uuuuhhh im a basic bitch so mr. junhee it is. He's 1. very very pretty (especially his smile bYE) 2. heavenly vocals 3. just the right amount of stoopid. 4. seriously what is he so handsome for.
Originally it was Donghun and I still regularily get wrecked by the rest of the groups so yeah they're just Like That
It's hard to pin point one favourite thing cause there's so many things.. It might sound funny but I like that they're only 5 guys and not 50 lmaoo. I also think they're one of the most well rounded groups out there. The full package of people who are genuinly skilled in vocals, rap and dance. Their concepts are always creative, their choreos are amazing and satisfying to watch and they all have great stage presence. And then they're ALSO funny and generally just. seem really nice and authentic? like they don't seem fake but they know to keep their private lives. well. private. good for them!!
7. Which concept has been your favourite? What kind of concept do you want them to try?
8. Which A.C.E friendship is your favourite? Which one do you want to see more of?
Another difficult one to answer. I like to call them concept kings cause they've really been putting out interesting stuff only from the beginning- Favourite boys definitely was super cool because I always love a traditional note like the hanbok or even in the sound (golden goose!!!) but I'll also never get over the Cactus hotpants. I want them back.
They can probably pull anything off really.... maybe something steam punky would be cool? its not a concept thats been done too often and they would definitely find a way to put an a.c.e spin on it.
I really like JunChan antics. Just a Fool trying to look after another slightly younger Fool. We love to see it. But besides that I can't really think of a dynamic I'm missing? Since they're only 5 they all seem really close :]
9. If you could tell A.C.E one thing what would you tell them?
Look after yourselfs and don't worry too much. Let's stay together for a long time! and Thank You!
10. Which A.C.E member would die first in a horror movie?
yeah uuuuuhhh r.i.p Junhee :/
11. Leave a small message for your fellow CHOICE!
Since I'm very multifandom i've seen my fare share of crazy so I really appreciate how chill and nice this small community is and I'd love to get to know more of you guys~ I hope we can keep this up even as the fandom grows, which for the boys sake I really wish to happen!

Tyler Ransom Finds Comfort in Endings
Tumblr media
Making your mark in music at a young age can cut both ways. Sure, being in your mid-teens and generating indie buzz in Los Angeles and beyond, releasing two albums & three singles in three years and getting the chance to have a feature length documentary is great. But it means a lot of eyes are on you when you're still in the important process of finding your voice. When you do inevitably make changes and evolve, it will get scrutinized.
Tyler Ransom has done all the above in only a few short years and has succeeded like never before with his latest album Ends Well. And although his time on the scene has been relatively short, with rapidly growing buzz and just moving to New York, it’s clear that we’ll be seeing a lot more from Tyler Ransom—and we can’t wait.
Tumblr media
Hey Tyler thanks for sitting down to speak to us. We’ve had Ends Well playing on repeat you did a remarkable job.
Wow thank you guys. This is such a trip because I remember when I first started making music I would always submit my finished projects to NPR to be on all songs considered so it’s all come in full circle really.
Can you tell us how you got into music?
I was fortunate to go to a middle school that had an arts program. I played saxophone for a bit and through that got super into jazz. When I was 13 or so I started growing out my hair and someone called me Jimi Hendrix which lead me to google him and that’s what lead to me picking up guitar. The rest is history.
It sounds like you grew up with a lot of music lovers. Did that help shape your sound?
California definitely has its own specific sound, and I grew up in The Valley, which had its own sound and vibe all to itself. Everyone was making music to a specific degree, and it showed me how accessible it was to pick up an instrument and write. To this day I am fortunate to have talented friends who inspire me. Not even with music but with all mediums. Super grateful for them.
You produced Ends Well bedroom correct?
Yeah it got pretty crazy in there at times. I would have my friend come over to play bass and I would have to reconfigure the whole room just to properly mic up his bass amp.
How was the process of making this record?
It was honestly really all over the place at times but looking back I can’t help but smile. It normally always started off with an idea and then working off that. I would mic my guitars, then when it would be time for vocals I would step in my closet and record. A lot of late nights in my room just trying to get what was in my head out into the music. It was all super D.I.Y but there’s definitely a beauty in that.
Tell us about the meaning of Ends Well.
I spent the first half of quarantine getting super into Shakespeare. The University I went to at the time had a really cool English professor who gifted me a number of Shakespeares’ plays. I found myself coming back to the play, “Alls Well that Ends Well” just because the message about relationships with the people around us and different types of perspectives. When looking back at the songs and the messages behind them, it truly felt that at the end of it all, it did in fact end well. Wow that was corny.
Tumblr media
Opting to take a subtler approach to music, how do you feel about the current musical climate?
It’s definitely oversaturated, but it’s not necessarily a bad thing. Just the output and opportunities and the value of everything is pretty insane right now. It’s not anything new, but it’s kind of refreshing to be able to find something entirely new anywhere you look. It keeps you on your toes and encourages you to make forward-thinking music because if you’re not paying attention you could miss a beat.
But do you ever feel like there’s too much to discover?
For sure yeah. I never really felt like that personally, just because I keep my scope relatively narrow, otherwise things can get blurry yeah. It’s easy to get lost in other people’s output and start making stuff based on visions of people around you. I catch myself doing it sometimes.
You just moved to the East Coast. So which do you prefer: East or West?
I just don’t really get much inspiration out of Los Angeles, but I don’t necessarily want to leave forever. I think what LA has to offer is just more space and the ability to breathe. But the East Coast has more energy—the buildings, visuals, opportunities and the representation of people is just different in a way that makes me just feel energetic. I think things fly under a radar—not in a way that they go unnoticed—but there’s more normalization of interesting things. Still, LA is interesting in its own way.
How so?
In LA, you can find places where things go on, but it’s not too community-based, which I kind of like, because I like doing it on my own. I’m drawn to a more domesticated lifestyle. In New York, you always have to be on your toes. I still need time to give a proper answer haha.
What are you working on next?
A lot. I’m still processing the kind words from Ends Well and am so grateful for everyone who is listening. I don’t want to say a lot but there is definitely a lot more music coming soon. I’m just trying not to bore myself so naturally there’s going to be growth, and with that comes time.

XCalibur: My Review
So, it’s been a couple of weeks since XCalibur came out and, while I’m trying to sort out my own thoughts about this, I decided to do what I do best: Force everyone to read an overly long, barely coherent post.
First off: Let’s get this off the ground. The fact that we got to see this at ALL was phenomenal. This is really, really fantastic, as a step for KMusicals getting a wider western audience, and it’s something that I DESPERATELY hope that they will continue to repeat in the future. I’d have supported it if it was anything, simply because that would give a clear message that there IS an audience for this.
However...
[warning for spoilers, brief discussions of rape]
Overall Impressions: Look....it’s WILDHORN. Wildhorn and me....we go way, way back. Like, to 12 Year Old Rachel listening to Jekyll and Hyde. And the Scarlet Pimpernel. And....quite a few musicals after that. I CAN’T hate it. It’s WILDHORN + ARTHURIANA. Two of my favorite things in the world. But, that being said....this might very well be my fault, but I did find myself a little disappointed, in the sense that, listening to the cast album, I was expecting a much, much better musical than what I really got. Which was a huge order to fill, given that I’ve always considered Artus: Excalibur to be one of Wildhorn’s more problematic musicals. But, in all fairness, they DID kind of promise me more, given that they retitled the musical and said that this was the “World Premiere”™. The set is fantastic, the music is stunning, but it just felt a little hollow to me.
Sets/Costuming: I LOVED the Dark Ages aesthetic to it. The costumes really were great, Morgana’s in particular stole the show, but Guinevere, Merlin, Arthur, and Lancelot gets some nice looks as well, and it all serves to give this idea of the Middle Ages (albeit HEAVILY preying on the old stereotype that it was The Dark Ages, with a very dark color palette generally being observable throughout). This also serves to make it visually very distinct from the Korean production of La Legende du Roi Arthur, given the two of them showed VERY close to one another. (2019 was just the year of the Arthurian musical.) As a Celticist....it isn’t REALLY historically accurate, it’s still fantasy, albeit more Guy Ritchie’s Arthur VS The Crystal Cave Trilogy in terms of how MUCH fantasy it utilizes. LRA (and Artus: Excalibur) took the approach of it being PURELY fantasy, there is....nothing. Historical. In there. One thing that irked me about Artus was that it, in particular, had a CHEAP feeling, like it had roughly as much thought put into it as a 80s comic book idea of Camelot that they were going to slap on the back of a cereal box or something. (LRA, to its credit, was GLORIOUSLY anachronistic, but it was high budget and sleek. I loved it for that.) XCalibur is TRYING for a more historical feel, and, for the most part, it does succeed. Whether the set is a forest, a deserted hall, or Camelot in its prime, they SELL the medievalism. It’s a bit of a pity there’s no WELSHNESS to it, but that is me being nitpicky about my field not being in there. For an Arthurian adaptation, I’m not really going to ask for anything more; it gives what it promises and it does it well. (Though I will say that, every once in a while, one of those costumes would flash in the stage lighting and I would question whether I’d seen that gold fabric at a Ren Faire etsy. BUT in all fairness, those costumes weren’t designed to be viewed in close up like that, and this is probably me being needlessly mean. OVERALL, the effect was good.)
Music: It’s a Frank Wildhorn musical, so of COURSE I’m going to like the music. This is DEFINITELY a stronger musical than Artus, with several new songs (including “The Tempest”, “Let the Sword Make the Man”, and “If he were standing here”, both of which are highlights to me) that really stand out. Since settling himself firmly in the Asian market, Wildhorn’s stuff has developed a polish that wasn’t really there in his Broadway stuff. It sounds much more modern, much more streamlined, with Death Note, the Man Who Laughs, Robespierre, and Mata Hari all having a distinct SOUND that I’ve started to call Wildhorn 2.0. There’s this distinct energy that runs through this production that wasn’t really there in Artus, and I found that it makes the cast album REALLY a treat to listen to. As with Artus, “Celtic” (which, in this case, of course, means “Riverdance”) musical motifs are present in the instrumentals, but I found it MUCH less heavy handed than before, and it’s evenly balanced out by more traditional tunes. I didn’t feel like it was AS overloaded as before, where I routinely found myself napping in between swelling instrumentals.
As with all of Wildhorn’s stuff, there are certain songs that sound very similar to other musicals of his, if you know what to look for. “Why am I here?” for example is nearly a carbon copy of “Who do you Trust?” from Tears of Heaven and “Wenn das Shicksal dich ereilt” from Rudolf, which themselves form part of a distinct genre of his songs that can be traced back to “The Riddle” from The Scarlet Pimpernel and “You and I” from Svengali. “The Mark of the Wolf”, a new song, sounds very similar at points to “How Many devils?” from The Civil War. Etc. etc. I don't really consider this a BAD part, at least in the case of the former, since the songs in that genre, to me, represent the best of Wildhorn’s music. And, after all, with over 30 years on stage....the man can only come up with new music for so long until he starts producing SOMETHING that sounds similar.
Overall verdict? Strong music. Not my FAVORITE of Wildhorn’s stuff,  but I’ve definitely spent a few hours listening to the cast album on its own merits, and definitely more energetic and polished than the German run to my ear.
Plot: So, a big draw for me was “Has the plot been fixed from the days of Artus: Excalibur?” and.....I have many mixed feelings. I DO feel like we got more of a solid musical, but I also feel like it had some really, really sour notes and, in some ways, the transition to a new musical feels only half-way done. Like, they HAD a new musical in mind, they went halfway through the process, and then they shrugged their shoulders, said “That’s good enough”, and left us with a Frankenstein’s Monster. (Oh, wait, wrong KMusical.)
One of the biggest casualties was Morgana. Morgan le Fay has been one of my favorite characters in anything, ever since I was 7 years old and developing one of my first crushes via The Magic Treehouse. Morgana is always the FIRST one I look to in an adaptation to see how they handle her, and her plotline in Artus always felt weak for me, ESPECIALLY her relationship with Merlin, which Wildhorn once described as something along the lines of a “bit of a romance” but that was painfully underdeveloped, especially on her end. We knew that he was weak for her, to his detriment, we knew that she wanted what he had, and that they do.....the do together, but there’s very little REAL development in there, and no sign, on my end, of that “little bit of romance” as opposed to just. Using one another. When I heard that that plotline had been revised, I was THRILLED. Now, I feel like it was a monkey’s paw situation.
(1) Morgana goes from more or less apathetic to Merlin’s situation to.......being totally obsessed with him, to the point where she says he’s the only man she ever loved? Like, she goes from someone HIGHLY motivated by what she believes is her rightful inheritance to being motivated by Merlin’s dick.
(2) The timeline. My God, the timeline. Making Morgana a child when she’s shipped off AND then doing the “Only man I ever loved” thing (and SEEMING to imply that Merlin did love her as well, but refused to say it) is.....it’s bad. No other way around it. They did NOT think that timeline through.
(3) I HATED Guinevere getting Morgana in the back with an arrow, but you know? That was yet another monkey’s paw situation, given that at least it wasn’t “Morgana falling for a very obvious ploy that she SHOULD have seen coming from a mile away if she wasn’t, as has been established, obsessed with Merlin’s dick.”
I will say that, reworking the plot so that Morgana’s obsessed with Merlin’s dick DID work out better in the sense that at least the Madonna/Whore complex with her and Guinevere isn’t really there: We no longer see Evil, Sexy Morgana VS Sweet Forest Maiden Guinevere, and Guinevere in this version of the musical is allowed to be much gutsier than her German counterpart. They did give her quite a bit of character as opposed to “Naive Girl who believes Arthur is The Best but finds out Wrong”. Now, that gutsiness flies out the window once she marries Arthur and is mainly confined to singing sad songs and stepping in between Arthur and Lancelot, but see above for Frankenstein’s Monster.
I will say that I did appreciate that this adaptation was willing to really give us a DEEPLY flawed Arthur; it’s something I’ve seen relatively little of post-White in terms of Arthurian adaptations, and it’s something I’ve missed. (Once Upon A Time’s Evil Arthur notwithstanding.) Arthur is really rarely allowed to BE a character in his own right, he has to be an Ideal™ or, if he’s a flawed character, flawed in an acceptable, palatable way; here, he’s an angry young man who’s shoved into a position that he’s not really qualified for and has to grow into it. He shoves people away, he shouts, he trusts Morgana too blindly, and he basically causes the Guinevere/Lancelot situation on his lonesome. It’s actually a little great to see.
BUT. But. Monkey’s paw. I LIKED seeing Arthur being a little bitch on occasion, but, for better or worse, he is our main character. And, outside of his bonding scenes with Guinevere and Lancelot early on, we really....don’t get to see that many scenes where he’s LIKABLE. There are a few moments (the scene where he tries to get Morgana to dance at his coronation is ADORABLE), but the first time we’re really introduced to him, he’s in a fight, he (understandably) snaps at Merlin, decides that, hey, being king might not be so bad, is fun for a little while, and then he spends a solid chunk of the second act being a dick because his father died. I don’t really know. I feel like this is going to be one of those things that I keep rolling over in my mind, as far as whether I REALLY like HIM as a main character, or whether I like those individual moments where he’s likable.
A part of me liked that we had, instead of the two siblings fighting during “Was Will Ich Hier”, we have Morgana and Arthur bonding. That sibling bond was, in my opinion, one of the more interesting possible dynamics in the show. But, unfortunately, the resulting conflict with Merlin felt very “been there, done that.” It’s more PLAUSIBLE than in cases where, say, the Enemy of the Week poses as a little girl and suddenly the main cast, who have known one another for twenty years, are suddenly slinging accusations against one another, but it STILL felt rather forced and predictable.
I was actually really grateful that we didn’t have the Morgana/Lot relationship in this particular production--Making Morgana an actual domestic abuse victim and then killing her off NEVER sat well with me, but as a result of that, now we have this situation where we have two more or less unconnected villains: Morgana and Wulfstan, and the plot only really needed one. Wulfstan, as a character, just....isn’t interesting. He’s a more or less generic “Barbarian Warlord” type who’s pissed Arthur killed his son and creeps on Morgana. I can’t REALLY say anything more there. Their plotlines intersect in the very beginning, when they capture Morgana and she guides them to Uther’s old castle, but other than that, there’s a general disconnect between them, and there’s no real PAYOFF to that. Instead, it just feels like it makes the plot needlessly busy.
One thing I’ve noticed, with both La Legende du Roi Arthur and XCalibur, is this pressure to fit as MUCH Arthurian in as possible, and as a result, the final musicals become rather crowded, so there’s no real time for DEVELOPMENT or substance.
“Okay, we have to have the pulling from the sword here!” “Right!” “Hm, Morgana le Fay is one of the most iconic antagonists, we probably need her there.” “Saxons?” “Sure!” “Everyone’s expecting Lancelot and Guinevere, we can’t not have them in there.”
I FEEL like XCalibur is LESS bogged down than LRA with regards to that factor, since the latter also threw in Maleagant as a secondary antagonist to Morgana and the Grail quest, but I still feel like XCalibur bit off more than it could really chew. Which is a pity, because there are Arthurian plot lines that have gotten comparatively little attention in recent days that you could include instead of going the “Paint By Numbers” route.
This also really shows in how it deals with certain plot lines, which are either dropped (Wulfstan V. Morgana), or come out of nowhere. This is REALLY obvious with Lancelot/Guinevere, which is a pity because I found myself, against my own will, rooting for them more than any other pairing in the show. Lancelot goes from a cocky lady’s man to...suddenly being smitten with Guinevere.....and then suddenly, after Guinevere is sad about Arthur being a dick, the two of them are fucking. Now, it would be NATURAL, as far as “Guinevere goes to Lancelot when she feels like Arthur’s being cold to her”, but we don’t SEE that. We literally cut from her in the forest, singing a sad song, and the next time we see them, they’re postcoital. It feels like it comes out of NOWHERE. My investment in them, as a couple, is more due to the strength of the two actors involved than the actual WRITING, which thinks that because the BEDROCK for something is there (”Oh, Guinevere beat Lancelot in combat! Oh, she feels neglected!”) that that means the house is there as well (”Oh, Guinevere beat Lancelot in common....so NOW he’s totally in love with her and is never going to flirt with another woman again. Oh, Guinevere is feeling abandoned by Arthur.......so we don’t NEED to see her going to Lancelot.”) They jump from Point A to point D and the audience is left with a sense of whiplash.
Some things, like Merlin’s actions re: Igraine and Uther, as well as Morgana, are just not explored to a depth that I would really find is satisfactory. “Oh, I did all these terrible things....because of Fate!” is something that we’re REALLY supposed to pull behind, but, given the pain to everyone involved, ESPECIALLY the women (Igraine, Morgana, and Guinevere ALL suffer from Destiny™), you have to REALLY wonder if there was literally anyone else who could have done it.
...so, really. BBC Merlin. BBC Merlin.
MOVING ON FROM MY SALT...as a medievalist, I was actually relatively happy that for ONCE in an Arthurian adaptation, the conflict between Christianity and paganism (WHICH HONESTLY WASN’T EVEN THAT MUCH OF A CONFLICT IN TERMS OF THE CELTIC WORLD, BUT MOVING ON) was presented as being pro-Christian. I’ve dealt with WAY too much media, in my time, that treats, say, 8th century Catholicism in Ireland the same as 16th century Catholicism in Spain, and NO. They were VERY distinct. I am saying this as a confirmed, happy atheist. They were distinct. I do not need or want The Mists of Avalon 10.0 on my screen, no thank you.
That being said...Monkey’s Paw. Monkey’s Paw. I was NOT happy to see the conflict presented as “Christianity taking over is Destined and Good, the Old Ways™ have had their time.” There’s this rather ugly fatalism that runs through it, along with the idea that followers of the pagan tradition HAD to die for Christianity to take its place. It’s...not my favorite thing in the world. Perhaps I’m simply unpleasable in this aspect, but there has GOT to be some medium between the two. Maybe this is my Medieval Irish Bias seeping through here, given that, with what I’m used to, the druids were mentioned in law books through the 8th century. I own this. (”But Rachel,” you might say, reasonably, “This isn’t 8th century Ireland”, to which I would of course say, “BUT IT SURE AS HELL ISN’T 6TH CENTURY WALES OR CORNWALL EITHER.”) Medieval people, historically, while they didn’t REALLY have religious tolerance as we know it, didn’t always see it in stark terms of “PAGANISM IN ONE CORNER, CHRISTIANITY IN ANOTHER”: They were, as a whole, FAIRLY good at integrating aspects of both in, even when they didn’t really mean to. The entire thing is just mangled horribly.
Anyway. Celtic Studies Salt Over.
Actors/Actresses: I’ll be honest, I was expecting, primarily, Morgana, Arthur, and Lancelot to pull the plot along, mainly because they get, together, most of the primary numbers, and because, in the German, Sabrina Weckerlin essentially carried the show on her back. As it was, Kim So Hyang’s Guinevere was the one who REALLY, in my opinion, ended up carrying the show. She had a wonderful voice, strong voice, and her Guinevere was able to make a full, smooth journey between a young, bold girl to the troubled wife of a troubled king to a woman wracked with regret. I’ve seen her in a lot of things, but I don’t think I really NOTICED her until now. She did some truly phenomenal work here, I was really glad, actually, that I got to see and appreciate her Guinevere. (Though, as a Min Kyung Ah fan....I would have LOVED to have seen her Guinevere.) She had great chemistry with both of her leads, lending credibility to both relationships, more than the script itself might really give.
Kai isn’t really an actor I ever really LOOK for in a musical, I wouldn’t say that I’m a MASSIVE fan, but that’s only because I don’t actively search for his stuff. Every time I’ve seen him in something, he’s been solid, and I did very much like him in the press calls. It does seem a little unfair that he got both the press calls AND the pro-shot, but c’est la vie. I did like his Arthur, he had a steady voice to back up the role, his acting was solid. Arthur, as a character, doesn’t REALLY stick out for me, but that isn’t HIS fault so much as the script’s, really, and my pre-built in bias towards Morgana. I didn’t find him to be REALLY likable in the role, very angry and sullen, but.....well. See above for my take on Arthur’s general likability here. I do think the man did the best with what he had, though I also feel like he’s more natural in Arthur’s dorkier, more relatable moments, especially with, say, Guinevere, Morgana, and Lancelot. (Though I’m not sure if that’s because I like Arthur as a CHARACTER more there or if I’m reacting to his ACTING in the role. This is one of those times where I’d have really liked to see Do Kyum or Junsu’s take on the role, since that would help me iron out what parts are the WRITING and what are the actor, but, lacking that, I’m going to err on the side of generosity.)
Shin Young Sook....I WANTED to like her Morgana. I did. But, I’ll be blunt, even as far back as the press call, I was feeling Jang Eun Ah’s Morgana more, I was, definitely, feeling a little disappointed when the proshot cast list was announced. So, in some ways, the poor woman would have had to have done miracles to get me to REALLY warm up to her. And I didn’t really see miracles on the stage. Her voice remains reliable, she is a belter like few others on the Korean stage. I give her that. But her acting basically totally ruined the character for me. My issues with the role, as detailed in the “Plot” section, aside, I believe that the overall character COULD be salvaged, from an audience perspective, with a nuanced enough portrayal. But, when I saw this particular take on Morgana...I didn’t see MORGANA. I saw Shin Young Sook, Having Fun, instead of Morgana, as portrayed by Shin Young Sook. An actress having fun in a role can definitely be GREAT (Park Hye Na as Eva in Frankenstein is one role of hers I will cherish forever), but in this case, which required a lot of nuance to pull it off and make the villain sympathetic....it does clash when you can tell that she’s one step away from evilly cackling and releasing a final belt before running off the stage. There is a time to ham and there is a time to not, and this was one of the “not” roles. There came some point, perhaps during the song “Desire”, perhaps before it, that I actively started DREADING Morgana appearing on stage. I don’t KNOW that Jang Eun Ah would have done it better. She could have done it worse. But it is a tragedy of only having a single cast available that I will always wonder. I was disappointed here. I was really, really disappointed.
Kim Jun Hyun as Merlin was solid. It’s well known at this point that I have a soft spot for him, but for what it’s worth, on a comparative level, I feel like this role suited him much better than, say, Orléans in Marie Antoinette (where, personally, though still liking him, I found him a little too cold for my taste). He is appropriately distant and otherworldly, showing a human side and conflict as the musical continues. Is he enough to make me LIKE Merlin, as a character? Not really, given how many people suffer because of him and how little the narrative actually QUESTIONS it, but damned if he doesn’t try, and he does lend a subdued charisma to the character, to the point where I know that at least some people noticed him more than they did Arthur or Lancelot. I did think he had -40 chemistry with Shin Young Sook, but that could be because I was ALREADY attached to him and Jang Eun Ah’s chemistry in the press call, and that is not so much a failing on one actor’s side or the other’s (I want to emphasize this, because I do NOT have anything against Shin Young Sook SPECIFICALLY on this point), rather it’s something that can’t really be qualified. (And is entirely subjective, I’m sure that plenty of viewers saw NOTHING wrong.) For me, it did cause me to actively cringe at certain scenes, such as the “This is where your Arthur came from”......”seduction”.....scene.
Tumblr media
“Lord....I actually have fewer problems saying no to this than you might think, nvmind.”
It COULD be that that’s the look of conflicting desire, but to me, personally, watching it, it rather looks like Merlin just realized that he forgot to turn the stove off at home. Which is a pity, because I was REALLY going in here expecting to like Merlin/Morgana more than the love triangle and instead found it to be very awkwardly handled. I haven’t ENTIRELY given up on it as a ship, in some abstract way that would involve another rewrite of the entire musical, but I can’t REALLY say that there’s. Anything I like about it either. And I think that if I was less stubbornly determined to find SOMETHING in it to like, I’m fairly certain I would be even more uncomfortable with it.
My final verdict: Watching this, despite some impressive visuals (though not QUITE to the same level as fellow Wildhorn musicals The Man Who Laughs, Dracula, and Mata Hari) and performances, I found myself continually wanting to go back to the cast album rather than actually WATCH the musical. Changes have been made since the German production, but I found that, while some of the changes definitely served to make a stronger musical, some of them actively weakened the show, and it's still a little too busy for its own good. I’m also not REALLY sure that the changes made really justified it being given the label World Premiere™, given the hype around it. If it was available for streaming again, would I do it? Yes, because it IS worth at least one watch and the industry NEEDS to do this more. If it was available to buy, even, for $20 or so, I would probably get it. But I’m not sure that, if it was for the~ $100 price that Toho musicals tend to sell for, I would seriously be able to say “Yes, get this”, and I’m not sure that, if an American/European tour of it was miraculously announced, I would REALLY bend over backwards to get tickets.

x Masterlist x
Tumblr media
(i love this gif so much! Thought the lights were little hearts above Roger’s head at first x))
You took a sharp breath as Roger bang one last time his drums, sweat dripping from his bare chest, hairs sticking in every direction, this view was certainly doing something to you.
He was hot. Undeniably hot. And this hottie was your boyfriend.
The thought made you smile stupidly. You watched him grabbed a towel and quickly wiped the sweat from his forehead, his eyes sparkling with excitement as the crowd literally roared with enthusiasm. The gig had been a total success.
Your heart fluttered heavily when you saw him searching through the crowd for someone. He grinned when he locked his gaze with yours, sending you a cheeky wink. His tongue wetting his lips as he eyed you up and down as he didn’t see you before the start of the gig. The way he swallowed thickly, his Adam’s apple bobbling roughly, you decided that your outfit of the night was pretty good.
**
“Come here you” Roger grabbed your waist and quickly pushed you flush against his chest, his mouth crushing on yours immediately.
You barely could understand what was going on as his tongue met yours, hands roaming on your generous hips, little sighs of satisfaction leaving both of your mouths.
“Hello to you too” You panted when he finally let go of your lips, your lipstick all around Roger’s mouth.
“You look beautiful, baby. Absolutely gorgeous” The drummer whispered before playfully biting your one of your finger. “Look at this little dress of yours. God, you’re clearly testing my self-control tonight” You shivered when he let go of your pad before he kissed you again, softer this time.
You giggled stupidly at his comment, warmth bubbling through your body. The way he looked at you, tongue poking out as he let his eyes wandering everywhere. His hand, rubbing your waist, slightly going down your round bum. Roger Taylor was turning you on so ridiculously quickly, it was almost embarrassing.
“You look good too, Rog” You trailed a finger on his naked torso, loving how his breath quickened at this simpler gesture. “And you played so great” You shook your head and grabbed his necklace, tugging him closer to you until you could kissed him.
He made a little groan of contentment. Hands falling right under your arse, pressing your cheeks shamelessly.
“Rog…we—” You let out a weak moan when his mouth fell on your neck, sucking on your thin skin with a devilish grin. “We are in the middle of a hallway” You hissed and finally pushed him away, feeling your cheeks heated up as few peoples passed by.
“Follow me then” His callous hand gripped yours and he eagerly tugged you inside the small changing room for the band who played at the pub, locking it quickly behind you. “I need to get this dress out of the way” He grunted but patiently waited until you nodded to taking off your cloth, mouth immediately finding your collarbones.
“Oh” You whimpered as his fingers expertly unhooked your bra, his lips travelling down your nipples immediately. “Keep going, Rog” You breathed out loudly, his hand busy with your knickers, pad rubbing against your clothed clit until you were a whining mess.
You gasped when he pushed you against the sofa before kissing you again, clumsily trying to get rid of his pants. You giggled at his eagerness before helping him open his zip, revealing his cute blue boxers.
“You first” Roger murmured when you tried to grab his cock, you didn’t fight him and laid back, watching him get rid of your panties. “Come here, baby” He grabbed your thick thighs and dragged your closer to his face, his hot breath tickling your core deliciously.
“Please, Rog” You murmured, one hand teasing your nipple and the other clenching around the sofa.
“Right on it, gorgeous” His husky voice said before he dropped few kisses on your core before diving his tongue right in, earning a long and desperate cry from you.
**
You woke up hot and bothered the next morning around eleven, the other half of your bed empty. Usually Roger stayed over during the weekend but you knew he was at the studio for their new album with the boys.
You wiped the sweat from your forehead, feeling pins and needles down your thighs and your core throbbing with need. You remembered last night after you fooled around in the changing room, you had a drink with the band then went back to you place, both of you could barely keep your hands to yourself.
The memory of Roger’s pretty moans as you were rubbing your clit on his clothed thigh made you shiver. His hand holding your waist until his fingerprint were inked in your skin. Your mouth dry from the incessant erotic little sounds leaving you throat. His mouth, wet and hot, leaving a trail a burning kissed from the pulsing point of your throat to the junction of your neck and shoulder. His croaky voice, deliciously lustful as he encouraged you to let it go. Your fingers firmly clenched in his hairs as you kept rocking yourself on him, crying loudly as you finally hit your high.
The thought made you blush profusely. But you were already horribly turned on. You laid back on the bed and let your fingers wandered on your clit, rubbing it just the way you liked it.
It was good but not enough. You tried few tricks but nothing was working. You were unbelievably horny with no way to get ride of it. Even your fingers pumping in and out weren’t enough, you wanted — needed more. You smiled to yourself as the reality hit you suddenly.
You were ready to lose your virginity.
**
You and Roger always had been sexually active. The man was the definition of lust, no one could deny him that. He had this charming aura which brought girls so ridiculously easily to hi feet and you weren’t an exception.
So yeah, you did fool around a lot. But you never went all the way down. You weren’t sure why but you wanted to be absolutely sure.
Every time it almost happened you were too stressed and not relaxed at all. So Roger simply showed you other stuffs until you felt ready. It took three whole months but finally, you were more than eager to actually having sex with your hot boyfriend.
Your giggled at yourself, how suddenly you were feeling eager to lose your virginity, to feel Roger inside you for real. Not just his fingers or his tongue, even if you did love them but you wanted the real deal. And you also wanted to please Roger, you knew his sex drive was pretty high and he had been an angel with you, never pushing you or cheating on you.
You felt beyond excited and decided to call Roger right away. You were worried that you might just combusted if you didn’t get your hands on him really soon.
“Hi Gorgeous” The drummer greeted you, knowing that you probably just woke up as you loved sleep in on Saturday.
“Hey Rog” You breathed out, a knot of anxiety and excitement growing up in your belly. God you needed him. Just the sound of his delicious yet still sleepy voice wasn’t helping your state at all. “Are you busy right now ?” You murmured with a barely hidden excitement.
“Just working on some songs but yeah kinda. What’s up baby ?” You cleared your throat and let out a little nervous giggle, feeling all giddy and eager. “Now you’re definitively having my attention. I now this giggle, it’s the ‘i have something to tell you and I'm super excited about it’. One of my favourite one honestly” He chuckled, his fingers playing with one his drumstick and purposely ignoring Brian’s angry gaze.
“Well I woke up this morning in a really good mood” You beamed. “And I…I think I’m ready” You whispered the end of your sentence, excitement bubbling in your belly.
“Ready for…?” The drummer repeated a bit lost.
“I want to have sex with you Rog” You said bluntly, savouring the way your boyfriend’s breathing stopped for few seconds, taking in the new.
“Right now ?” That was the only thing he managed to choke out once the shock passed.
“Well the soonest the better” You giggled. “But if you’re busy…I guess I will wait for you tonight” You sighed a bit dramatically, biting your lips as you pictured Roger’s flustered face.
“You know what ? I just remember I have a very important medical appointment this morning” You grinned as you could hear the faint conversation of him and the boys. “I will be here in thirty minutes, baby” He quickly hanged up, his voice raspier than usual and it only added eagerness through your body.
**
After jumping in the shower, scrubbing every inch of your body, you had put on this beautiful new set of pink lingerie you were keeping for a special event like this one, you sprayed perfume behind your neck and on your wrists before giving your face a light but pretty makeup. You opted for a bold idea going on in your mind for few weeks now as you slid a short black skirt and a red lacy top, You were perfect and right on time as you heard Roger knocking on the door.
“When I open the door, I need you to close your eyes, okay ?” You murmured as you barely opened the door for the blond to hear you correctly.
“Oh I see” The drummer smirked but did as you said. You grabbed his hands and closed the door with your foot before walking him to the sofa. “You smell nice. God, why closing eyes is so exciting ?” He rumbled a bit as you giggled, pressing a single kiss on his parted lips.
“Here and don’t cheat !” You warned him after tying a blindfold behind his head as he laid against the couch, his hand absent-mindedly rubbing his chest slightly exposed by his unbuttoned shirt.
You quickly walked to the kitchen and grabbed your half-full bottle of tequila and drank a good sip of it, grimacing at the bitter taste. But it would help for what you were about to do. You walked back to the living-room and slid the record needle on the vinyl, the first beats on the sensual song echoing through the quiet room.
Yes, I’m ready by Barbara Mason.
You thought it would match the special occasion. And by the way Roger was smirking, he thought that too.
“Baby, I’m dying there. Can I open my eyes now ?” He pleaded but you said no, instead sliding your high heels on before walking to him, hips following the rhythm of the song. “Oh, alright” He shakily replied as you walked right between his parted legs, slightly rubbing your bum against his crotch.
“I don’t even know how to love you…Just the way you want me to…" You sang sensually into his ear, putting his hands on your plump waist as you started slowly dancing. You absolutely loved the way his lips parted as his palms went down your cheeks, feeling your body like it was the first time. "But I’m ready to learn…Yes I’m ready to learn…" You grabbed Roger’s hairs to crash your lips against his, giving a deep, hot kiss, his hands deliciously pressing against your arse.
"Babe, please. Let me see” The drummer murmured with a croaky voice, bottom lip crushed between his teeth. You simply giggled and kept dancing, linking yours and Roger’s hands together as you trailed your hands all over your body. “I’m so hard” He breathed out quietly, groaned softly as you brought his palms on your covered breasts, hips swinging in perfect synchronisation with the song.
“I don’t even know how to hold your hand…Just to make you understand…” You stood up and ignored his grunting as you walked few steps back, eyes closed as you followed the sensual beat, feeling absolutely powerful. “You can take off your blindfold, Rog” You whispered and you could guess the second he did as he let out an appreciative moan at your little dance. “But I’m ready to learn…Yes I’m ready to learn…” You opened your eyes and cockily winked at Roger, his gaze following every of your moves.
You sensually raised your top above your head but it get stuck and you could hear the drummer faintly chuckled.
“Need a hand, babe ?”
“Don’t” You warned him and finally threw the top away, messing your hairs a bit to give them that wild touch. "Stay right where you are”
“Bossy” He murmured with his tongue running on his pink lips. “I like that”
You ignored the small wave of embarrassment that had rush over you after the top accident and kept slowly moving in rhythm, digits teasing the zip of your skirt. You slowly pushed it down and this time everything went smoothly, the clothe pooling at the feet of your high heels.
“Wow” Roger swallowed thickly, his eyes wide as he took in your new and quite risqué lingerie set, his fingers drumming impatiently on his thigh. “You look…fuck, you look like a goddess, babe” He practically whined as you smiled cockily, pride bubbling in your belly.
“I don’t even know how to kiss your lips…” You murmured in perfect synchronisation as you straddled Roger’s lap, earning a little grunt from his throat. Hot. You teased him a bit, palms around his neck and lips wandering everywhere on his face except his mouth.
“Since when did you become such a tease ?” He whispered, eyes glistening with lust and evident need. Just for you.
“At a moment like this…” You ignored his rhetorical question and gently rolled your hips at the beat of the song, you and Roger eyes-fucking each other, his hands clenching roughly around your waist, palming shamelessly your generous hips. “But I’m going to learn how to do…” You grabbed his lower lip between your teeth, tugging on it dirtily. “All the things you want me to…” The sexual tension between the two of you was practically unbearable. The air was charged with electricity, a cloud of lust making your head dizzy and your knickers soaking wet. The feeling of the drummer hard cock between your thighs made you moaned lowly.
“Dear god…how long is this song ?” He cried as you kept circling your hips against him, slow and sensual. A light giggle leaving your mouth at his distress and eager state.
“Yes, I’m ready…” You caught one of his hand from your waist and slid it between your two body, a gasp escaping him at the wetness of your panties. He kept his hand here, rubbing his middle finger against your clit. The roughness of the cloth against your core was absolutely delicious. “Yes, I’m ready…I’m ready Roger” You murmured as the song ended, a deep silence falling in the room.
Your heavy breathing and the little panting of Roger were the only sounds breaking the quietness. And suddenly, like if someone had pop the lustful bubble where you and the drummer had been for the past minutes, you both crashed greedily your mouths against each other. Tongue and teeth knocking roughly for a dirty, desperate and urgent kiss.
“Jesus fucking Christ, baby” Roger let go of your swollen mouth, his chest panting heavily after the short but intense make-out session. “Where all of this is coming from ?” He murmured slightly out of breath, his gaze falling in your wide neckline.
“Don’t know. Wanted to please you” You purred against his ear and watched his fingers almost timidly grazed at the delicate fabric of your bra. “It’s a bit too small but I found it cute” You shrugged as Roger’s pads followed the different lacy patterns adorning your lingerie.
It was quite a challenge to find a bra fitting perfectly your chest. Most people with large breasts had this issue. Either too small or too large. You usually bought bralettes, it was easier to fit your boobs and way more comfy but when you saw that light pink set of lingerie, you couldn’t help yourself. You needed it, even if you meant that some part of your breasts were slightly squishing out of the cup. But by the way Roger was drooling at the sight, mouth trailing lazy kisses on the roundness of your chest, he didn’t mind for a second.
“Don’t worry, baby. It’s not the only thing too small right now” He groaned and shifted under you, barely hiding the reference to his dick restricted by his pants. “God, did I ever tell how much I love your breasts ? So beautiful and big” He moaned, hands fully kneading them through the bra before he decided he had enough and took it off eagerly.
“Yeah, like once or twice” You giggled. “The first time I saw you at this shitty pub you barely looked at me in the eyes” You gently teased him as his warm tongue started playing with your right nipple. The smarty comment you wanted to add dying in your throat.
“That was totally your fault !” He gasped, pretending to be shock as his hands fell down your bum, fingers toying around the string of your thong. “Did you remember how wide was the cleavage of your red dress ? Huge. And with boobs like yours…killing match, darling” He grinned. “I remember pretty well how shitty the pub was, could barely keep my eyes of you and yours…nice assets. I played like shit because I wasn’t even watching my drums kit, missy”
“Maybe that was my ultimate purpose” You wiggled your brows, digits busy with a hard task : unbuttoning the rest of his shirt. It was a lot of struggle with the excitement running through your veins.
“Cheeky” Roger smirked before pressing a strangely delicate kiss on your mouth which quickly turned into a messy, hot one. “Should we move that to the bedroom ?” He breathed lowly against your lips, chuckling as you only replied with a pathetic whine.
He helped you stand up and both walked to the bedroom, Roger almost tripping over your abandoned skirt. He slammed the door louder than he attempted to but only shrugged before pushing you on the bed, kissing you again with a new hunger. You struggled to kick your high heels as your hands were secured in the drummer hairs and your brain was switched off.
“Rog…I need you” You gave a strong roll of hips against his crotch, earning a deep and, really sexy, groan from your hot boyfriend. “Now”
“Alright smart mouth, I’m gonna fuck you here and now…until you can’t walk anymore” He threw away his shirt quickly followed by your knickers, chuckling about how soaked you were. “How does it sound for you, baby ?” He grunted against your jaw, the sound of his belt being unbuckled making you squirmed under him.
“Very good” You moaned breathlessly. Roger let go of you few seconds as he kicked off his boxer, his hard rock cock immediately slapping against his stomach. You felt your core throbbed at the sight. “Rog” You whimpered, feeling cold, lonely and pretty desperate without him.
“I’m right here, love” The drummer gave your thick thigh a firm squeeze as he rolled a condom on his erected dick before positioning himself between your legs. “Fuck, I can’t bother with foreplay, just need to be inside you” His raspy voice murmured as he pushed your thighs wider. “Unless you want to ?” He glanced at you with fucked eyes, his forehead already sweating from the activities of earlier and you weren’t sure if there were prettier view that this one.
“Fuck no” You giggled. “We’ve been doing foreplay for the past three months” You gently stroked his cheek as he softly nuzzled into your hand, his way to making sure you were still in. “Fuck me Roger, please”
That was all he needed. The few first thrusts had been a bit painful until your walls were more stretched and ready to welcoming Roger’s cock, his lips kissing you tenderly at each little whines of yours. Quickly enough it was gone and you were begin to be use to the strange feeling of being full, legs crossed behind the drummer’s back. But you were still waiting for the fireworks promised. It was nice but nothing…much.
“How are you feeling ?” The blond murmured as he kept ramming into you, his biceps popping out the same way they did when he drummed.
“Good” You replied, trying to hide your growing deception, hand falling on your tits to tease yourself.
“You’re lying” Roger stated as he stopped moving, tilting his head on the side to look at you. “If you’re not having pleasure (Y/N) you can tell me, okay ? I’m a big boy, I can handle a little comment”
You hid your face behind your hands and scoffed : “I never meet anyone with an ego like yours, Rog. I don’t even know how you still pass through the door”
He chuckled gently and slid off you, moving your hands away from your face.
“Can’t denied that” He kissed the inside of your palms softly. “But I know I’m good in bed, baby. Always had good reviews from the previous girls” He cockily said, his fingers slowly rubbing your large thighs, a thing he absolute adored about you.
“Yeah keep talking about your previous flings, it’s definitively turning me on” You ironically replied, rolling your eyes as he snorted.
“Someone need to fuck this feisty attitude out of you” He commented, amusement dancing in his pupils. “And yes, The someone is me” He added before you could make a smarty comment. “Now turn around, on your knees” He ordered you, giving your arse a firm slap.
You surprisly liked it.
“We just need to find the right way to scratch this little sweet spot of yours” He murmured against your ear, his hands moving your arms to make you rested your upper body on your elbows. Then his palm went flat on your back, applying a small amount of pressure until you were perfectly arching, your bum in the air. “You look absolutely delicious like this, baby. Full-course meal” The drummer growled, fingers kneading at your generous cheeks bum.
“I feel ridiculous” You mumbled, feeling a bit anxious to expose your bare ass like that.
“Absolutely not” A sharp slap on your butt made your moaned lowly. Yeah, you definitively into the spanking thing. “I love your ass, you already know that. Probably my favourite part of yours” He kept massaging your bottom, his cock teasing your pussy, chuckling every time you wiggled against him. “Your delicious fat ass” He spanked you again, clearly noticing how much you liked it.
“Hey ! That’s not very nice !” You humphed at this last comment, giving him a glance from behind your shoulder.
“Sorry baby. Let me rephrase it. I love your beautiful curvy ass” He gave your butt a good bite. “Couldn’t resist that cute bottom of yours” Roger explained when you gasped at the sudden light pain. He shamelessly palmed it a bit more before sliding inside you easily. “Oh god” He hissed in a mixture of pleasure and pain.
“Shit” You cursed at the slight burning sensation quickly replaced with a new one, much better one.
“Your cunt is— fuck, so tight, baby” He stayed still few seconds, his heavy breathing falling on your bare shoulders, making you shivered slightly. “I’m not gonna last long, you’re feeling way too good, love” The blond warned you as he wrapped his hands around you voluptuous hips, gently massaging the skin.
You roughly bit your bottom lip as he started slamming into you, imposing you a steady rhythm and you could feel his smug grin as you started moaning loudly.
The new angle of your body was so much better. His cock could reach this perfect little spot on your wall, making it difficult for you to keep your eyes open. Your fingers were tightly clenching around the bedsheets, letting every whimpers and cries falling freely from your mouth.
“That’s it baby, moan my name, come on. Wanna hear you” Another sharp slap again your arse almost made your elbows give up but you kept steady, eyes rolling in the back of your head. “You’re so hot, Jesus, look at this perfect bum cheeks. So round and big, fuck" He quickened the pace and you were reduced to a moaning mess, holding at the bed frame for your dear life.
His name was the only coherent word of your vocabulary that you could manage to get out. You almost jolted out of his reach when his thumb found your clit but his arms kept you in place, mouth dropping few kisses on your back.
“Roger…Oh Rog!” You sobbed as the pressure inside you was almost unbearable, the urge to cum burning your belly. “I’m—"
You let out a ridiculously loud and pornographic sound as your orgasm rolled over you, easily the strongest you ever experienced.
“Shit, I can feel you clenching around me” The drummer hissed, his thrust becoming sloppier. “’m gonna cum on this pretty ass of yours, yeah ?” His breathless and raspy voice was an absolute delight to your ear, your arms gave up and you buried your head onto the mattress.
“Yeah” You managed to choke out, endless moans leaving your mouth as he gave few more deep thrust before sliding off you.
You whimpered at the sudden feeling of emptiness.
"God, you wear the colour red absolutely divinely my love” Roger murmured, one hand around his bare cock but his eyes ogling your burning butt cheeks. “Holy sh— shit” You felt the drummer cum slightly rolled on your bottom and down your cheeks, another strange turn on.
Night full of discoveries.
You laid down lazily as Roger threw the condom in the bin and cleaned your arse with few tissues. Then he flopped next to you, looking probably as fucked as you.
You didn’t speak for several minutes, both of you trying to catch your breath. His fingers were softly running up and down your back, eyes locked with each other. It felt even more intimate that the act of sex itself. You let out a little yawn and moved Roger’s hand to your hairs, his nails immediately grazing against your scalp just the way you loved it.
“Don’t even think of falling asleep on me, baby” The drummer whispered as your drooping eyelids. You let out a little ‘hum ?’, wordlessly asking him the reason. “I have few more positions in mind that I’ve been dreaming of testing with you for months now” He smiled cheekily at you and boy, you knew this was going to be a long night.

Taekook/Vkook: From things I gathered so far
First of all, it’s just my thinking, I could be wrong. So if im wrong, then just think of this post as a fanfic. So, I started listening/watching BTS just this week. Yeah i know, very late for the party. but i dont usually listen to K-pop, so I came across them simply because they’re everywhere recently.
They amazed me like most of the world right now, i started to watch their interview or v-live vids just to know them better.
Then i saw a old news about they almost break the group in 2018, i was really shocked, so i watched the 2018 festa, heard that V talked about Suga write a long massage to him and end with I love you. then Suga said he also sent to another person.
Tumblr media
then Jungkook raised his hand.
Tumblr media
i found it a bit weird why he didn’t say it earlier, wait till Suga pointed out another person? But i didn’t think into it. the news commented that Suga cared for the two youngest members, and said the almost disbanded reason was pressure from the fame.
Then i came across those Taekook vids, lots of them with detail analyse, those were too many i can’t repeat. i grow up with Japan’s boy groups, those were K-pop’s beginning, so im no new to those fan service behavior. But I really feel this wasn’t the case.
The first one really bring up suspicious, is when Jimin asked if JK was happy, then JK said yes and thank fans.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was really shocked to see that, because Jimin actually lower his voice, it doesn’t sound like a joke.
And also JK’s answer... i have to say hes not the best improviser on cover up. He stop for a sec then said something in a weak tone....
Tumblr media
He didn’t ask why Jimin say that or anything, like a normal person been wrongfully accused. Just really nervous laughing.
Tumblr media
Cute, but boi.
Then theres that famous sleeping together on a boat:
Tumblr media
And also those v-live busted:
Jungkook wasn’t wearing clothes when V came, but they exchanged some shady text before. So theory was probably V told him hes coming but didn’t say he would bring the cam, so... poor JK.
Tumblr media
Anyway there are lots of them, so im not gonna go threw everything. Just my theory: I would guess they probably started just good friends, they both has the same weirdness, and similar age. And JK said he think V really good looking a lot from the beginning. V would pet JK like a puppy and hug him every chance he got.
Tumblr media
Though other’s like the little bro too, but clearly they were the closest.
And most of all, V likes(or needs) to hug something to sleep, and little JK didn’t like sleep alone. So they just naturally sleep together all the time. And other hyungs were used to it. they know each other more than any other members too.
at first I guess they started to make out around 2017, but now i think probably 14-15. I have to keep changing the timeline earlier because more i dig, more i think it happened very early. 2013 When the group started, Jungkook looked so shy and everyone teased him. V’s teasing a bit different, more intimate or inappropriate even. Like the pic above, JK often looks shy and tries to get away. There’re also a vid (I forgot where i saw it) everyone sit down talking, V held JK under his arm and grabbing his nipple, JK looked so uncomfortable and low key tried to get away.  But that dynamic soon changed, JK suddenly more confident, can tease back, and possessive of V. i think they started to make out during that time. explain why JK used to so awkward when V teased him, because he got aroused by those joking behavior and embarrassed. But after confirmed that the feeling was mature. He’s all exciting and totally in love. But I don’t think they really consider the other one as lover till 2016, could be when V left the group for the movie shooting, the separation made them realized their own feeling. if i can be a bit pervert, i would say before that could just jerking, making out, normal stuff. but 16 or 17 are the time they really doing it and become lovers.
this vid was form 03.24.2017, i saw it from other people’s great vid. pls go watch it, so informational. In this vid you can hear some kissing sound. I used to think this time was they first build up the real sexual relationship so they couldn’t control themselves. But now i think maybe because company were(are) pressing them, so its their way to get back. So as those sneaky tease, it’s their way to express their feeling under the company rules.
Tumblr media
Maybe at first was boys fooling around, but it turn to real general love very quick. It’s not just some dazed and confused, they supported each other in a high pressure industry full with adults. Train together, work together, live together. That would definitely create a strong bond. And I believe them made each other grow a better person. V becomes more thoughtful, discovered his ability on dancing, singing, and song writing. And the very capable JK becomes more caring, confident, and found his mental support he can always rest his head when he really tired.
The another shock for me was the behind scene of Winter Bear.
Tumblr media
first of all, JK isn’t in the credit so why was he there lol? Second, that phone lol. JK’s symbol is rabbit. so no matter who that phone is all quite suspicious.  Although there’re some camera sound, but it doesn’t looks like another person was shooting, the sound and camera shift could edit in. or just ask the camera person leave the camera after couple shoots. Anyway, i think the camera was on the bed was the tiny movement matched their move so it could be just mattress bouncing. But the important thing i want to talk about was this:
Tumblr media
That damn boi was freaking jerking off right?! His top all opened up, his left hand was under the cover, and there were some tiny panting and chest movement... i watched like at least 20 times, its gotta be. And there’s a cut couple sec later, changed to JK singing winter bear with a smirk face.
Tumblr media
cus he freaking knew the song is about him.  yeah. I think V made that song cuz JK. He said before that JK really hates people waking him up. so i guess kinda like a bear?
Then there’s the walking with JK’s dog scene. Before the behind scene came out, people argued about whether JK was involved. But now, yeah, i would say he probably the person filming since he already filming V a lot on his personal account “golden closet film“... do i even need to say anything about the name?
Back on the bear.
Tumblr media
V only held one bear, and the finishing had two bears.
Tumblr media
Two bears, how could that be any more obvious?? Two bears, two boys likes to sleep together. do the math.
Tumblr media
do you even wanna talk how close he and the person filming? don’t think a professional would film like this. and the look in V’s eyes, the tiny smile on his lips... im tired to go over this, why do i even need to point out? use your eyes.
So, conclusion, I think they were in love since 2017. And the other members all know about it. There are so many slips i wouldn’t gonna talk about it. it’s already a super long post.
Next, it’s the interfering phase. 2018.
Anyway, Korea is not a gay-friendly country. And they have mandatory military service, which V and JK haven’t done. if you’re gay in Korea military, you could face jail time. And not to mention coming out in anywhere would be hard. The company started to separate V and JK, they won’t be in the same vid, even arrange different schedule for them. If it’s a group activity, then they couldn’t stand next to each other without others cut in-between.
I imagine its not a great job for the hyngs, probably why they talked about disband. Yeah, I went back to the first question i got and finished my quest. i think i found the real reason. and it explains why-->
Tumblr media
See when Jin said it, V was looking at another person on his right side with that intense look, tell me that's not a look you look at someone you love but couldn’t be with.
Tumblr media
And V all broke down, finally JK couldn’t watch it anymore.
Tumblr media
I can’t find a close up, but i remember seeing in some other vids. JK was holding his tear and put on a calm face but you can see how hard he gritted.
it’s hard to find because they all got ban by the company. maybe my post would too... i heard there was a vid on YouTube point out the same thing and got ban by bighit. so... anyway. if you think im right, you can make a copy of my post and re-post it. don’t worry about copy my words, i don’t mind. if a lot of people did the same thing, then there would be no point to ban.
IM NOT DOWN HERE!!
That’s talk about this v live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfHecRN_dLk
Tumblr media
if you didnt watch it, go find it on youtu. This vid are so... all over the place. I didn’t understand till some great analysis (see the link above). i couldn’t go throw all the details why how or what... if you don’t believe, why you even read till here?
Simply says, company wanna hide that JK and V was staying in the same room, so they probably ask V to leave the room, but V came back in the middle, everyone was super awkward, so Jin and Jimin left. V looked sad and pissed. He wouldn’t leave, so company sent someone to ring the bell, and told JK to ask V to leave.
Tumblr media
see how uncomfortable that JK had to ask V to leave. i feel so bad for them both, had to follow those company stupid rules and pretend their relationship. How would that feel when you have the love one so close to you, but you can’t touch, can’t hold each other, can’t even say how important that person meant to you.
They’re in their 20s! they should be having fun with each other, posting those sweet pics and showing off their boyfriends, having the best. Instead, they can’t even stand together in public photo shooting.
People even thought they have issue with each other, can you imagine how insult that would be? have to see your fans pairing you and your lover with other people, but couldn’t say anything.
Then, that’s talk about the new album. because i think they’re not gonna be quite for long. remember RM made a speech in UN about not just love yourself, also need to speak yourself? I think they are gonna speak, that’s why RM hinted in this interview:
Tumblr media
yes form the same youtuber, go find the vid.  He say something big could be coming, i do think definitely could be JK and V coming out. see how serious JK’s face? this kid got frown lines in just a year! People were shock that he looks much grown up in “ON”, i just feel sorry for him. hes only 22, he shouldn’t have to grow up so much. But love would do this to you, the things you do for love age you. V seems much older too, i couldn’t imagine how much pressure hes under.
And we have to talk about the songs.
First, Jungkook’s My time. He said the same thing about have to grow up fast. Of course industry would do that to you, but he was always quite happy till couple years ago. love do make us weak and hurt, some love just harder than the other. In his song, he said don’t know what’s his time, I think maybe he was thinking about when to come out? But eventually he definitely will, because his song was for V, the lyric mostly was easy to understand, but
Even if it's opposite of sun One time for the present (one time) Two time for the past (two time) these three lines i think sun means V’s name? probably means even against what V wants? but the one or two im not sure, how many times he disagree with V?
And time, my time, does that mean sexuality? or just simply means he couldn’t have time with V? so many possibility...
But i really wanna talk about V’s inner child. That’s the reason why i spent 4hrs writing this long ass post with my broken english. Not even sure would any one even bother to read... Because after everything i know and believe about V and JK, when i read the lyric i see a totally different song. a heart break love song for someone he knows for so long, when they both young. (im tearing up again) OK, call me imagine things all you want, if there’s a small chance they really are lovers and this song was for JK... just pretend that and read+listen the song again.
At that time, we had it tough While looking up at those stars in the sky, too far out of reach You at that time, didn't believe in galaxies But I saw it, a silver galaxy It must have hurt, it must have been so difficult I ran towards the endless light
The first part is the beginning of their story, they wanna be like those stars, but JK wasn’t sure about himself. V believes they can make it. so they went for it, even have to go through all those lies and suffering.
and the chorus...
It tingles, that summer day's air The cold sounds of the grey-lit streets I draw in a breath and knock at your door We gon' change
maybe how things happened? Not sure the summer is a  metaphor or a real time though. this change means they fell in love.
Now I wish we would smile more It will be okay, because today's me is doing fine Yesterday's you, now it's all clear I want to hug the many thorns in the budding rose The smiling kid, the child who was always laughing brightly When I see you like that, I can't help smiling
The second part is breaking my heart. I think hes telling JK not to worry about him. He doesn’t mind those thorns(all the obstacles they have to face), he want  the rose(JK or their love relationship). And the smiling kid part just makes me cry every time. The line “Yesterday’s you”, Im not sure means he can sees JK’s grown up, or... When i sense that their relationship might be the almost disband reason, i think probably one of them wanted to go against the company, open their relationship. But the other one refused. That’s why they end up still the same. I thought was V wanted to open, because he’s more don’t care about what people think kinda person.  but now i think might be JK. That’s why V was crying so hard on the stage, because hes the one hiding. He felt sorry for JK, and JK held him showed he support his decision. And if that’s true, then the whole “yesterday you” could means that V understand why JK want to go public now. Another thing why i suddenly think JK is the one wanted to come out, is the “Golden Closet Film” name. And It’s started at 2017.11.08... probably the time they talked about coming out, but decided not to, he was frustrated and felt been pressed by the company into this glamorous closet.
the chorus this time means another change, maybe they broke up, or put a hold on their relationship. but i would think... maybe when V made the song, he didn’t know what would happen. this song was what he wanted to say to JK, so he could bring this song to JK and play or sing to him. See what would he choose.
Therefore comes the next part which is dancing in my tears:
Tonight, if I reach my hand to yours Can you hold that hand? I'll become you You just have to look at my galaxies Be showered with all those stars I'll give you my world The lights illuminating your eyes, they're the me of now You’re my boy, my boy My boy, my boy, my boy
Is V asking JK to come out with him? i couldn’t figure out every single words mean but i don’t have to, that’s something V said to JK, the meaning belongs to them, we can just shared a bit of his emotion. there are just so many love and begging, calling for the boy he deeply in love with. every single word hurt me deeply because they are so real and pure.
If someone wrote something like this song to you, you need to grab that person tight. You might never meet another person could love you more than that.
I don’t know if JK hold V’s hand, like I said in the beginning, i could be all wrong and this is just a fanfic. But it’s the ending, if you still with me. let me make a wild guess...
If they come out on one of the coming concert, that would be epic.  I worry for them of course, I wish them nothing but happiness. I truly don’t want to see this great kids suffer anymore. So maybe its a good thing if im wrong, or the storm might swallow them all. No matter what, i will keep supporting them, hope most of the army too.

Here are some little like ‘reviews’ of all the Oingo Boingo albums... Under cut LOL... I just like to talk about Oingo Boingo I am so obsessed right now they have become tied for Mr. Bungle as favorite band... But anyways... Hope you enjoy ^_^
Only a Lad: Very fun sound as a whole. I enjoy how like poppy and synthy it is and stuff and that one weird electronic voice Mr. Elf man does in like every song. I remember like actually not liking most of the songs first time I heard it and I’m not sure why because I enjoy 9/10 out of them a lot now... But then again I like almost never really like an album the first time I hear it LOL I have a mean soul. A lot of the songs have pretty evil words in them but I have like slight respect for how much hatred Danny Elfman seems to have had for everyone on the entire planet at the time of writing. And for the majority of songs I cannot really complain about because I think it fits theme of like very happy sounding song but nasty words in it duality of man and such. Only one I really do not like is Capitalism because it has the whiniest lyrics of all and also it just does not sound good like as a song I think I am sorry. I must say it. Forgive me. I was so thrilled hearing Nasty Habits for the first time because I really like songs that sound like a homosexual cartoon villain would sing them to you. Well that’s all. Only a Lad itself was one of the first songs of theirs I heard except sped up and it had a picture of anime Bart Simpson on it. I like it. Good song. Recently I cannot stop getting it and Little Girls stuck in my head. That’s all
Nothing to Fear: Everything about this album is sooooo sooo good it is like so incredibly catered specifically to my tastes. One of the few albums I have loved immediately as soon as I heard I finished listening for the first time and was immediately like oh this is going in my favorites. I add some points also for absolutely incredible beautiful cover art it’s got weird colors weird animals logo made of worm things it’s so beautiful it makes me want to cry.  I think it gets SLIGHTLY weaker in its second half but that is hard not to do with albums. That said though a lot of songs that I felt were slightly worse at first have risen to being my favorites of the album like Why’d We Come and Reptiles and Samurai. Didn’t know what to think about Running on a Treadmill at first but I think it works very well in its simplicity and it is very catchy I can imagine people like singing it on actual treadmill and like jumping around abd being in zero gravity for some reason it is like that music video where they are in the plane but it is treadmills. Well, hi. The only ones that feel like slightly slightly worse to me are Whole Day Off and Islands but I think I am growing to like both of those a lot more too. My favorites though are Grey Matter and Insects and Wild Sex and also Nothing to Fear the titular song and Why’d We Come and Reptiles and Samurai which is over half of the songs so I think that’s good.  I remember listening to Private Life like 5 times before listening to the rest of the album but I always forgot how it went immediately after not sure why because I’d say it is a reasonably catchy song. Anyways INCREDIBLE album. Rude lyrics? Still a thing but tend to be much more agreeable like it is obvious who is being made fun of in like Grey Matter and Nothing to Fear and I say the fun making is well deserved! Even though I may be the target of Grey Matter I understand and I am sorry. The general sound is also amazing I LOVE all the weird noises and metal stuff and clanks and clonks and all the xylophone. Dude the xylophone is so good. Synth and xylophone and guitar they are all best friends and they sound so cool together and I think xylophones should be more widely used in like “pop” music as a whole whatever that defines. I keep wanting to start a band and just play xylophone. Like what’s anybody gonna do to stop me? I love xylophone. That’s all
Good for Your Soul: I wasn’t so impressed by this one the first time I heard it but it quickly wormed its way up to a very close #2 and possibly even tied with Nothing to Fear as my favorite album of theirs. The album art on this one is also really good I will say! I felt like slightly let down at first by it just because it’s so hard to live up to how beautiful of a cover Nothing to Fear has in my mind. But its art is so cool too. Muscle man in wobbly world. What’s more to love (Side note I enjoy the song Wobbly World it is not an Oingo Boingo song it is by Devo I should listen to more Devo.) The first time I listened the only songs that REALLY jumped out at me super hard were No Spill Blood and Fill the Void, and I think those 2 are still tied as my favorites. I LOVE the whole like rhythm No Spill Blood has going on and the weird animal noises and also the lyrics they are not about Animal Farm they are about The Island of Dr. Moreau he did those surgeries don’t you know he made the animals have to be men and they were like are we not men but they didn’t say they were Devo sorry I keep talking about Devo in this Oingo Boingo album review. And BTW Fill the Void also is really great and has possibly my favorite set of lyrics in any song ever to exist which is the part like “Every little thing is a piece of a larger thing / Every little fish is a tyrant of the sea / Every little atom is a master of his family / Every single piece calls my name / What do they want from me?” It is so good it makes me go so insane I love it. Another song that works really well in just being a simple thing.  It is so nice and cool it feels like being in space and you are in one of the levels of one of those Kirby spinoff games where he’s like a ball and you’re rolling him around NOT Canvas Curse the other ones like Dream Course I think. Anyways though while I wasn’t super big on all the other songs they ended up like slowly coming back into my head one by one until I was obsessed with all of them. First it was Pictures of You. Then it was Nothing Bad Ever Happens to Me (would put that in my top 3 as well) and then Dead or Alive and then Little Guns and then Cry of the Vatos and then Wake Up It’s 1984 and then Sweat and then the titular song AND Who Do You Want to Be it was like. Wow. What a world.  WDYWTB + Good for Your Soul + Sweat were the 3 that didn’t really do it for me as much for a while but now I’ve been really enjoying them too so I think I can say I love every single song on this album. It is becoming my best friend. It’s sooo good. It feels like living in one of those fake Utopian cities and there’s actually something sinister going on behind the scenes. Like I will start seeing colors and freaking about it any time soon. Random memory that unlocked in me is that I used to be incredibly obsessed with The Book Thief and its concept of death when I was in like 6th or 7th grade like uncannily so but I never talked about the book ever I just hid it away in my mind. My sad story. Sorry everyone. That’s all
So-Lo: This one is technically just Danny Elfman but you know it is an Oingo Boingo album man they got the whole band there they were just having licensing issues because new label and stuff is my understanding. And they were like. Well let’s take advantage of this and do some less standard Oingo Boingo songs. That is how I grasp this situation I don’t know how correct I am her I actually don’t know that much about O.B. outside of the songs at this point I still cannot name any non-Danny Elfman member and I am really sorry for this and must learn to atone for my ways. This is a good album though. Once again has really good cover art I will say.  It’s like well hello there Mr. Elf man you’ve got some eyes sliding off your face and some funny colors and are controlling some little puppet things maybe it’s like you do you man LOL am I right or am I right! I like this album. This was yet another one where I listened the first time and was like. Man I’m not really feeling it with any of these songs. However I do enjoy that they all sound kind of like they were recorded on a Sega Genesis. I mean it does have very Genesis-y noises I know this was the 80s and it would be more accurate to say the Sega Genesis soudns like this album but you know what I mean. Anyways nothing grabbed me at first but upon my second listen I became extremely obsessed with the song “Go Away” and then listened to it on repeat for 2 hours straight and it still hasn’t got old for me I still like it very good song. Definitely my favorite. Tied with Everybody Needs which is also a very fun song I became similarly enamored with like a day later but didn’t listen to quite as much LOL. But anyways I went through that oh-so-familiar process which I must warn you is also the process I go through for every single album after this! - Where all the other songs started worming their way into my head and I was like oh brother I am beginnign to like them all now! Good for Your Soul, I think, marked like more obvious change from songs tending to be like “This is what Danny Elfman thinks of the world phrased in a humorous way” to more like actual stories and stuff, although the former wasn’t rid of entirely and the latter hadn’t just popped up or anything. But I think this album continued that in a really nice way and while it can be vague, listening to it I always feel that there is like one solid story all the song narratives go throughout. Someone pointed out in like Youtube Comments that Go Away feels like the sadder side of Cool City and to me it feels like the whole album is kind of in that vein. Seems to me like all the songs are in the Cool City itself and you’re seeing like the various different horrible things that go on in that town and horrible people that live in it. Yknow? Like Tough as Nails and Everybody Needs make me think of like various awful weird a$$ holbs living there and then stuff like Sucker for Mystery and Lightning and It Only Makes Me Laugh. Well they are clearly from the perspectives of some guy. The same guy? Maybe maybe not I don’t feel like they are the same guy. But it feels like they are like experiencing weird horrible sh*t in this horrible town that is filled with racists but also gay people. I like this album I enjoy it
Dead Man’s Party: OK I am sorry to say. This is a good album but it hasn’t COMPLETELY grown on me yet. But I DO like it a lot. I enjoy it it’s good. I really really love Just Another Day and the titular song and Heard Somebody Cry and Nobody Lives Forever and Weird Science which is over half of them so not bad all things considered. And I do not DISLIKE any songs. But the other ones haven’t quite grown on me yet. This album does kind of shift into like the more commercial stuff it’s not like generic pop or nothing. But it is like slightly strange to get used to. That said. The songs I like I REALLY like thye are so good. No One Lives Forever is an incredible incredible song just like Nasty Habits it fulfills my love of songs that sound like they are being sung by evil guys in cartoons but are not they’re actually being sung by Danny Elfman who is an evil guy in real life. Sorry I didn’t mean it he probably is not that evil I’m sure he’s perfectly nice Mr. Elf man if you are reading this I apologize. Anyways though. I like the general sound of this album I will say! I think though it has thing going on where like, in my mind, some of the songs feel like way too happy and overly peppy almost like mocking. I have a weird mind and a weird way of processing things and I am also incredibly afraid of everything on this planet so keep that in mind BTW I am sorry. But like Stay and Fool’s Paradise and Help Me and Same Man I was Before all have that kind of feeling to me, it’s like these are so cheerful and cheesy sounding to me it kind of scares me a little bit. However... I am starting to feel this less with Help me and Stay, and also I felt this a little bit with Heard Somebody Cry at first as well and I no longer do. So maybe I’m still going through the motions of song-liking as I do.  As I said though the favorites on here are incredible. Weird Science may have been written for strange movie deal and they may be really saddened by its memory or maybe just the music video’s memory but it’s a very fun song nevertheless. Dead Man’s Party itself it really fun true classic. Very orange song to me. It’s orange and purple like I hear it and I am like ah yes I am experiencing orange and purple. Very nice shades of orange and purple though, and they are mixing together in pleasing ways and throwing a big party and everyone’s invited you might even say it’s a dead man’s party heh heh heh (grins devilishly). I think this like takes the kind of narratives in Good for Your Soul and So-Lo and like takes it to best form! In that it has a very clear yet not super specific narrative going on throughout the whole album, I really like whenever an album has songs set up so pleasingly and nice like that it makes me sad when they’re just like in random order. But of course this album is all about death and accepting it and stuff and like all the different feelings of sadness and happiness and stuff that all go into it! And I like its message a lot, like obviously you shouldn’t want to die but don’t fear it. It has a very nice depiction of the afterlife. I like all the stuff in Beetlejuice and Corpse Bride with their similar interpretations too although Beetlejuice isn’t quite as positive about it LOL. I want to watch Corpse Bride again. I want to see another singing Danny Elfman skeleton. I want to see the Peter Lorre worm. My one complaint with the album narrative is that Weird Science goes at the end it kinda ruins the whole story a little bit but I can’t fault them because like where COULD they put it?  I think it might work kind of well as the first song because like trying to make frankenstein guy before all the accepting death stuff makes sense. But also. It would be a weird opener. Also the album art is so incredible I love it I want to join their party it’s beautiful. I did not mean for this review to get as long as it did. They just keep getting longer each album I’m sorry the length does not show my opinion but I just keep getting more excited each album
Boi-Ngo: Will admit this one is my least favorite. And once again my bias shows because it has cover art I don’t like very much. It’s just real guys looking at you. Where’s the funny Oingo Boingo touch where’s the charm people!??!? it makes me sad. And also, as a whole, while I DO like most of the songs I feel like I don’t like them as much as I like any of the ones on other albums, and it also has my least favorite song I’ve heard other than Capitalism which is We Close Our Eyes sorry I’ve seen a lot of people who really like that one but it just scares me. It feels so insincere to me it makes me feel that thing once more where it’s like this song is waaayyy to happy and peppy to not feel like it’s kind of sinister deep down. I apologize. It is a fun album however! I think it kind of goes back more to “Danny Elfman’s humorous observations about life”, which is not always a bad thing, but it seems to revert a little bit too much back to like him just being kind of whiny and not making much of a point in like, say, New Generation. Although it is a nice song I think! It scares me when he goes like now he’s got you by the balls. I understand the point of that lyric. But it frightens me.  I think my favorites are Home Again, Elevator Man, Not My Slave (although lyrics feel like slightly concerning), Outrageous, and Pain. Which once again is more than half the album so shows what I know complaining about it this whole time.
Dark at the End of the Tunnel: I feel bad for this album because before listening to it I always forgot it existed, like I listened to Boi-Ngo and was like aw man I only have one album left! Oh wait nevermind I have 2. And now I keep fearing there’s another one I forgot not including like the live albums and singles stuff. Maybe there is.... haunting me But anyways... I already did like incomprehensible post talking about this one earlier LOL which inspired me to do more equally incomprehensible things on all the other albums hence this post. So I’ve already said a lot of what I have to say about this and hope not to repeat it too much... but... LOL I was so afraid wondering if I would actually like this one or not... I wanted to just because of how awesome the cover art is. And I was afraid because I wasn’t really a big fan of most of the songs at first. But I think with this album and the whole Boingo era they were moving towards like more orchestral stuff and changing their sound and all... So it was a bit strange to get used to at first but the more I listened the more I enjoyed everything I guess like taking in all the instruments and textures and what not. A lot of the songs in this one also feel like kind of creepily cheery but I think it works best for this album specifically, because as I’ve said before it feels very intentional - there is like whole dual thing of more dark mysterious sections and light-hearted happy sections in most of the songs. Although my top 3 are all songs that mostly just have the former going on... Right to Know, Long Breakdown, and Run Away.  I also really enjoy When the Lights Go Out, Skin, Out of Control (though it still feels like vaguely scary to me LOL), and Glory Be... But I keep finding myself getting all the others stuck in my head as well. So still growing on me LOL! I am beginning to appreciate all the other songs more for those cheerier parts as well yknow... I think this whole album has a very fantastical vibe to it LOL but definitely like, a very old fantasy. Like they discovered this album in a giant wizard’s tower like ten thousand years ago and now it’s been unearthed again. But it was created by a child wizard who was like 5 years old. But still had a wizard beard. That’s the guy on the cover I’ve decided. Little wizard from long ago.  However... It does feel like it’s kind of setting up something. Like all the songs do... whole album is good but feels like it’s kind of a preparation for the next one. Which doesn’t make it bad! Just like I feel like it’s kind of part of a set... Incomplete on its own yknow? I would probably rank it in my lower 4 of all the albums but I’ll still say I enjoyed it quite a bit, that is no insult. And I like wizards
Boingo: This album is SO good dude. I’m glad this is what they left off on. Really great finishing album... I have a weird timeline involving this one because it was actually the first album I listened to, my dad showed it to me, but I only ever listened up to Lost Like This before very recently and by recently I mean today and I am still listening to Changes for the first time as I write this which is probably a bad idea but I am doing it anyways. Anyways though... The first O.B. songs my dad showed to me ever were Insanity from this album and Dead Man’s Party the song, and despite how different their two sources are they both have extremely similar structure I think. And so I kind of painted this picture of like all Oingo Boingo songs being similarly structured around 6-7 minutes and mostly repeating the same different sections in slightly different ways. And I am pleased that this album kind of fulfills that - a lot of the songs are like 2-3x longer than they really need to be but I enjoy that because I love long songs.  As I mentioned earlier, DatEotT feels like it’s just the beginning of something, and this provides a very satisfying ‘second half’. I think it works well by itself too, though! Boingo marks such a big change musically from everything else before even DatEoT but it somehow stays very true to their old spirit anyways.. But everything feels so much grander and I really like it. Almost every song has a pretty wistful melancholy feel but at the same time ALSO almost every song but like a different set of almost every song is very big and bombastic. So it definitely has that “well this is our last album goodbye” feel to it. But it’s OK. It’s like a big grand finale. If there was a like an Oingo Boingo musical that had every single song for some reason and lasted like 10 hours I feel like the other albums could be switched around the whole thing regardless of their actual releases, but this one would HAVE to be last. Adding to that, I feel like it really like takes a lot of the earlier concepts I’ve liked a lot in previous albums and had them return. Like So-Lo, many of the songs have pretty different narratives, but all feel like they can be one loose intertwined thing. Pedestrian Wolves and Lost Like This definitely feel connected for one... and like Insanity and Changes provide like nice bookends where the first is like analyzing the world around us and then the second is analyzing the self. Side note. Danny Elfman is always referring to himself as stupid in Oingo Boingo songs. And sometimes it’s just like PoV character or something. But it ticks me off a little bit because he is like clearly not stupid he is like a crazy evil genius.  But ALSO I’m not really sure what exactly the whole story of Boingo is, but it just feels connected in some sort of mysterious way yknow? Maybe it will appear to me later... If Dark at the End of the Tunnel was created by a little five year old wizard ten thousand years ago, this was created by the same wizard when he was reaching the end of his life and was in the wizard’s nursing home in like the 1920s. It still feels like mildly aged, there is SOMETHING about it that feels like it’s meant to be played on like an extremely old awful record player, but it has a much more modern feeling. It almost feels like another interpretation of the afterlife... Maybe that more Beetlejuice kind where it’s just like real life at first but if you peek around the corner you’ll find all the weird sandworms and colorful ghosts and stuff. Anyways though. This album is so good. Not my favorite right now, but definitely in top 3, like at the moment of writing this I would say. #1 is Nothing to Fear. #2 is Good for Your Soul. #3 is Boingo. But I am loving it soooo much on my first actual full listen even though I’ve had time to like absorb half the songs already admittedly. So it might end up being my favorite after all! I think my 3 favorite tracks also on this are Insanity, Lost Like This, and Hey!. Random completely unrelated parallel to my other favorite band. I like that they have a song called Hey! and Mr. Bungle has a song called Hi! It all fits together. And they both have the exclamation point. But anyways ALSO since I’ve only finished listening for the first time Changes finished while I was writing this BTW. I am still figuring out my opinions on the rest of the songs. Don’t think the I am the Walrus cover QUITE does it for me, I like Spider and War Again but not sure if they’re favorites. I hated Can’t See/Useless the first time I listened but now I like it how about that! ONE MORE thing I like about this. Is its songs feel like continuations of stuff in other albums. Although that may just be because of similar themes! Like, War Again feels like a continuation of both Nothing to Fear and Little Guns but it’s about similar subjects to both. And Tender Lumplings, Little Girls, no real explanation needed there. Insanity and Nasty Habits match up pretty well, with both just being like about hating the world although Nasty Habits is more specific than that LOL. Mary is a girl who is unfairly ostracized, Johnny of Only a Lad is a boy who is unfairly praised, you know.  And also one more thing ONE more I know this one ALSO kinda has the classic Danny Elfman yells about things stuff going on but I feel like this is the album where it works best. But maybe I am just a hypocrite. OK that’s all. Hi

Superb Baby Shower Gift Report Ideas
Tumblr media
What is the most beneficial gift you can share with parents for their modest person whom they will regard as the most effective gift in the world? Definitely many parents build a gift list to help let their family and friends know what they should have. However , these data can be quite long, just in case you are the provider, you'll probably try to hone it to two to three choices. Below are baby shower celebration gift list creative ideas for both the dads and moms who want to create a checklist and for givers to consider as suitable gifts for the newborn baby.
baby list
The best baby shower merchandise are those things the little one really needs. Those must-haves can be identified under the categories of clothes, feeding, play items, and nursery requirements.
Under clothing, you'll be able to list undershirts, tie-sides, mittens, booties, together with frog suits. For the reason that babies grow a bit older, heavier knit tops, pants, and shoes and boots are added to their own clothing line.
To get feeding, babies have different sizes with feeding bottles along with soft nipples, bibs and wash linen, and dishwasher-safe guidance dishes.
Most give consideration to play things to get babies coo and additionally laugh, like harmless rattles, dolls, in addition to musical toys, for the reason that genuine needs.
To handle their most common gardening shop needs there are that disposable and washable diapers, towels, little one blankets, pillows, as well beddings, all of which generate ideal gifts.
It could be that less essential merchandise on the list can be keepsake items like shot albums, picture support frames, baby books, along with growth charts. It's also possible to go for bathing provides like baby cleaning, mild shampoo, hypoallergenic oils and smells, and grooming stuff like a baby brush, clean, toothbrush and fingernail clipper.
Undoubtedly this parent's gift directory will include more expensive elements, too. Examples that any particular one might consider getting are a baby crib, chest of drawers, stroller, car seat, babe swing, or even a rocking horse. Sometimes associates or family could join together to invest in a more expensive product or service, like a really attractive stroller, sharing the cost so it's not a stress on one individual. An additional idea is to give used, but effectively preserved, car seats, baby cribs, and strollers that have been outgrown by people's own children. Presume me, the families won't mind which it has been used.
A further great gift choice, whether on the product list or possibly not, would be to give important things which parents together with children can do alongside one another, such as picture and reading books. Little one experts agree this reading to and also going over picture catalogs with one's infant, not only results in superb parent child creating, but also produces your love for studying in the child, which supports them develop scholastically. They recommend looking through to babies before the child understands what. The baby will relate it with the parent's love, and thus build a fondness for guides.
Some would declare that the very best shower gift you could allow might be a basic savings account, thereby pressuring the young moms and dads to start saving because of their child's education. You simply won't likely find that relating to the parent's gift report, but you can be sure they may appreciate the treasure.
As givers, most people tend to look for different gifts, perhaps issues not included in the parent's gift catalog. That's OK, in particular when the gift is normally something useful, but usually we tend to forget the fact that the best items we can give infants are what ones own parents would like to impart them with but can't have the funds for. These are the things you will probably find on their baby gift list.
Which means then, before you pay for something for the baby shower celebration, find out if there is something special list, and if therefore , what is included in it. Once you know, ask your parents, family and additionally close friends to see just what others have specified or intend to provide so you don't repeat the gift. These kinds of communication may provide collaborating with a band of friends to buy corresponding outfits, or this can be the time when various decide to pitch set for one gift involving greater value. It might take a little more effort to help you communicate with others along these lines, but it will be a good idea the effort when you go to the newborn child shower and you enjoy how pleased a parents are of the fact that needs of their cutting edge bundle of joy has been which means well-provided for not having cost to them.

So it's kind of shameful that I haven't made a post about Snow White Blood's first EP, Once Upon a Fearytale, but if I say 2020 happened I hope you'll understand. The super short version is that I rather enjoy it (check out Lullaby for the Undead if you're impatient and just want one song), and I've been looking forward to a full album ever since I heard it. The good news is that it's finally coming out in about a month from when I'm writing this, and the first song from it was just released (which is what this post links to).
Quick thoughts before I get sidetracked: Snow White Blood does fairy tale-inspired symphonic metal, and they do it well. It doesn't quite manage to stick to the more traditional versions of the stories (ask your favorite folklorist all about it), but it's still fun what they do with them. The singer, Ulli Perhonen, is pretty great and why I know of the band in the first place, but I'm also a fan of what they do with the instrumental parts. This song, Shared Hearts, is based on Snow White and Rose Red (no, not that Snow White, the other one), which was an interesting choice because I suspect the reason most people heard about the band in the first place was that Ulli Perhonen did guest vocals on the Blackbriar song...wait for it...Snow White and Rose Red. The two songs take it in different directions though, and I like both. The singers feel better matched in this one though...Ulli really outshines Zora Cock in the Blackbriar one. Zora's pretty good and I like her on her own in some songs, but she doesn't really have the power to match Ulli. I feel like Lilly Seth's voice and singing in this one complements hers better.
Uh, anyway, Blackbriar is fine in general even if not usually my thing, and Snow White Blood is great, and Ulli Perhonen is a highlight of whatever she's involved in, and they both did songs about the sisters Snow White and Rose Red, and they're both pretty good. Go listen to them. And stuff.
Ok, now that that's out of the way...
I caught the premiere of Shared Hearts because I just kind of happened to be looking at the time, and it took a little adjusting at first because I'd just been listening to Fearytale again. Once I got into it though I ended up putting it on repeat for like half an hour and spent most of that time Having Feelings (including crying) about my own sister and our relationship.
[oops I got sidetracked for a few hours by being very tired, but now I'm back...hi!]
Where was I? Right, so...I've gotten the impression over the years that my relationship with my little sister when we were growing up was not typical. So many people have told me stories about how much they fought with their siblings or just were indifferent and didn't have much in common, but the two of us were pretty close in age and always got along really well. Not quite as intense as in this song, but there was a reason strangers sometimes thought we were twins. We weren't like best friends or anything, and we were definitely capable of driving each other nuts sometimes (especially me...sorry about that), but we were always close and got along with each other and each other's friends and spent a pretty decent amount of time together. I knew lots of people who couldn't survive ten minutes together in the car to go get ice cream or something, while we managed ten hours with no problems to go visit family.
We were remarkably well behaved and could keep each other entertained with silly games or songs or making up stories about the shark-infested forest or whatever. Back then I was more of the smart, nerdy one and I always thought she was the cool one, but as we've both gotten older it's pretty clear that she's a huge nerd too, just in a less stereotypical way, and I might be a bit cooler than I gave myself credit for. She's also super smart and has done a frankly intimidating number of different things, not just for her age but for anyone. And it's funny because back when we were both in school she was the more social one, while I was the one who was single until my mid-20s, and I was more known as the academic one. Now she's the one who went to grad school while I was too busy being disabled and never finished high school, but she's had more bad luck with relationships than anyone deserves and I'm very happily living my best queer, poly life with a bunch of wonderful people. Go figure.
And I say all this and could go on at length for a while longer, and people could tell you I bring her up in conversation fairly regularly and have plenty of nice things to say about her, but...
After she moved away for school we gradually drifted apart. Even though she lives a couple miles away again at this point now that she's done with it we still hardly ever talk. We get along fine when we do, but we're both such different people at this point that I never even feel sure how to talk to her, much less what to talk about. I'm so worn out all the time from just existing that I never get around to figuring out what to do about that. And I think this song may have just given me the push to do it anyway. Maybe I'll mention some of the stuff I said in here. Maybe I'll just send this to her. Who knows? It's about time to do something though. I only have one sister, and I lucked out and got a pretty great one, and she deserves better from me if I can manage...

a summary of the banana fish bits from the yoshida akimi + gackt interview in this malice mizer book (1998). i don’t think there’s a complete english t/l out there yet (please correct if i’m wrong) but there is a chinese one, so do check it out if you’re interested (thanks @vashak for the link!)
- Gackt once claimed to have read the series more than a hundred times and that he would love to meet the author. His wish finally came true and the meet-up took place at Yoshida’s home.
- Why was Gackt drawn to the series at first? Because of the art, especially the eyes.
- He has the tendency to go into different character POVs as he’s reading a story. For BF, he started out with Ash’s POV, then Eiji’s, and so on. He did it even for characters who die almost immediately, so once that happened he would go back to the beginning and start reading again from a different POV, repeating it until he’s done with all the charas.
- Yoshida says that she’s interested in how male readers view the story, because after all, it is a woman’s fantasy. She wonders if it’s hard for them to get into the story. Gackt says that he got really into it though. Yoshida concedes that there are men out there who like the series, but it is still a shoujo manga and the magazine it’s published in is also for girls, so she has never once thought about a male audience as she was drawing it. That’s why she’s curious about how it’s being read by them.
- Someone told Gackt about the manga, which is how he found out about it. He really liked the art style and the convos, and from then on, it felt like he got sucked into her world and couldn’t get out.
- For some reason, he also thinks that their collarbones are nice…? He talks about how the characters wear T-shirts and how the collarbones would just casually peek out and he thinks it’s nice. Yoshida’s like, huh, that’s a first. Lol. She also mentions that she’s not really the type to be particularly fussy about her art.
- Gackt asks what inspired her to want to draw BF. Yoshida says that during her college years, her generation was exposed to and was heavily influenced by drug culture, so everyone around her including herself was quite knowledgeable about the topic. And as she was reading all sorts of books on it, she came across something that mentioned that the CIA planned to use drugs for mind control and that apparently the Soviet Union had something similar in mind as well. She thought that was interesting. She also talks about how there are many weapons of war in this world, the main three being: nuclear weapons, food supply and oil... with drugs being said to be the fourth. Thinking about it now, that’s probably where the idea for the story was conceived.
- Editor(?) asks if she wasn’t just bringing in dramatic elements for the sake of creating more hurdles for Ash? Yoshida agrees that there was that too.
- Yoshida also talks about how she initially wanted to portray the main character as a more lively boy, since the ones she drew in the past were all kinda gloomy. She was aiming for something more positive or more shounen manga-esque, but it didn’t turn out that way in the end lol.
- Gackt says he was intrigued by certain words that came up in the series too. When he got to the word “Aslan,” a lot of stories started springing up inside him. At the same time, he got an inspiration for a song. That was when he came up with “Asrun Dream.” He didn’t know how to spell the word, so he had to do some research.
- Yoshida says that she doesn’t think the way he pronounced it is right… she thinks it’s supposed to sound more complicated? She talks about how she took French as a foreign language module in college, and she learned things like how the “h” is silent. For example, you’d pronounce hotel like “otel.” Anyway she thinks that there might be something like that as well when it comes to “Aslan.”
- Gackt asks about her readers’ reactions. Yoshida says that the most common one among girls is that they often identify with Eiji. They want to be Eiji, and they want to save Ash. And upon reaching the end, there was a lot of “Please don’t kill him.”
- Gackt asks if she’s thought of writing a whole story about Eiji and Sing after Ash’s death. Yoshida says that that story (GoL i guess) was supposed to be much longer... about how the two of them are going through life in present-day New York. But because of page restrictions and stuff when it came to compiling it into a volume, it had to be cut short. She says that the original story on its own was as long as an entire volume.
- Gackt says that he’s mentioned liking BF in a newsletter to his fanclub and that he’s drawn a portrait (of Ash? idk). Yoshida asks to see it and he’s like “sure” lol
- Editor says that BF feels very much like an American movie. Yoshida mentions that she had given the rights for a movie adaptation to Sakamoto Ryuichi, but for various reasons it ended up not happening. “Plus, River is no longer here too.” It was something like that.
- Gackt is asked if there’s any character he wants to play, and he says Shorter. Editor asks if that means he’s willing to cut his hair. Gackt says he would; he’d turn it into a mohawk, and then he’d shave it so that he can say this line in the movie: “I’m growing it out!”
- He also mentions wanting to play Arthur. Yoshida says that role might suit him better… the sad young man from the gloomy villains’ side. (t/l note: /raises eyebrow at “sad young man”)
- Initially, Gackt thought that he could do Ash or Arthur. But he felt that Shorter would be the toughest to play, so that’s why he prefers Shorter. Especially his final scene where he says, “Kill me.” What kind of expression should he make for that? A smile would be the toughest, wouldn’t it? And Shorter smiles a lot. Just what kind of feelings would there be behind that smile?
- Yoshida says she feels honored as a mangaka to know that he reads that deeply. Usually, she disappoints people because she always ends up saying “I never thought that far.” Editor says, but that means you’re writing it subconsciously right? Yoshida says well, I guess so.
- Editor says that, with such passion for the series, Gackt would be able to come up with a soundtrack or an image album, wouldn’t he? Gackt says yes, and that he’s come up with so many songs as he was reading the series.
- He talks about how “Asrun Dream” has its own story behind it. Ash wakes up in the morning while Eiji is still asleep in bed, and he goes to lean against the window, looking out. That’s the scene inside him that evoked the song. Yoshida says that she would like to listen to it. Gackt says that it’s not released publicly and no one knows about it, but he still has it as an old song.
- Editor says that he should release it as a solo album, with the jacket art done by Yoshida. Yoshida’s like, wait what’s going on? lol. Gackt says of course, when the time comes he will request for it. If she refuses, he would do a dogeza all the way ‘til morning. Everyone laughs. He’s like, I’ll even quit my job. And she says that she feels the pressure mounting now lol.
- Gackt says that he’s always wanted to write down all the songs that come to him as he’s reading a story, and then compile them into an album bundled with a little book, like “please listen to this while you’re reading the book.” If there’s a chance, he’d definitely like to try it out. He says that he would always be waiting for that chance until the day he dies.

soooo where's that sunshine kitty review 😋😋😋
cvbghnjklòk love uuuu ♡
gritty pretty (intro): ghfjdklgnkfkgl WHAT IS THIS JFJKDLFFK i wish everyone was italian so they could get it (although it’s kinda weird sounding as an italian like maybe it’s an autotranslate or something??) but fhjfkgn. it’s iconic and i love how it fades into the next song. fave lyrics: [i don’t wanna spoil it for my italian speaking followers, sorry... the last thing he says]
10/10
glad he’s gone: at first i wasn’t the biggest fan, but it grows on you. it’s very catchy and i love the chorus, don’t adore the ‘glad he’s gone’ shrill part. cute but still not my fave from her, and in general i like her better on more bittersweet stuff, but this is empowering and like, a hymn to friendship so it’s pretty lovely. fave lyrics: you and me under each other’s wing
8/10
bad as the boys: i love alma, i love that it’s about a girl, i love the nostalgic feel… this is my fave kind of tove lo (think 9th of october or hey you got drugs… still don’t feel like this one can 100 per cent compare, but yeah). fave lyrics: i run my fingers through her hair, crushing my hope that this could go anywhere, i’m just a memory of good times, she’s not mine
8,5/10
sweettalk my heart: YES. see previous song, well now this one is 100 per cent what i meant, the way her voice delivers the lyrics, it just… idk, i feel it in my throat, it makes me so emotional. my preferred style from her. yes yes yes. fave lyrics: sweeter than love is the taste of all those promises
10/10
stay over: same effect as the previous one, here the beat kinda drops too, so it’s even catchier i think?? fave lyrics: you dip your toes back in, take it slow, well i’m nothing like what you’ve had before
9-/10
are u gonna tell her: ooooooohh i like the creepy / trippy base. very sexy and like… scary? and then the chorus comes and it’s like so melodic and dreamy, heavenly when the voices layer… chillsssssss. i also really like the rap. big fan of this one! fave lyrics: now sunday’s shining in, feel the same coming, you don’t belong to me, are you gonna tell her?
9,5/10
jacques: the beat is kinda heard, like similar to lots of stuff, reminds me of david guetta… not necessarily a bad thing and the song is a jam (bonus for when she speaks french), maybe not exceptional but it gets better the more i listen to it sooo. fave lyrics: je m’appelle tove, get the show on the road
7,5/10
mateo: oooooooooooooooooohhh this is one of the feely ones. love love love. love the way she says ‘mateo my love’, the way her voice breaks in the chorus, makes my heart break. the bridge is also a+. clearly adore this one. fave lyrics: i act so cool, but that’s not me still not the one you choose to see and also you always look for something new, i hope i get my turn with you
100/10
come undone: beautiful lyrics and melody, but i got kinda distracted while listening so maybe i found it boring? it might grow on me tho, but for now not mind-blowing. fave lyrics: why i gotta love you like that?
7,5/10
equally lost: nice, jammy! love the featuring verse (??? what does this mean gjgkgk basically doja cat’s verse). not something i’d play on repeat, but definitely one to bop your head to. fave lyrics: i see you looking at me so i turn my charm on
7,5/10
really don’t like u: kylie minogue is a legend and the beat just makes you want to move, the vocals are just so tove, like on brand idk how to say it… it reminds me of her previous works in the best ways. i also love that the title is kinda misleading and there’s some wlw undertone to the jealousy narrated. fave lyrics: really i just don’t like you looking prettier than i do tonight, you make it hard to have a good time
8,5/10
shifted: again a slightly creepy base, which i like… idk why compared to other songs in the album this one just doesn’t feel very memorable to me, like it doesn’t get stuck  in my head. probably my least fave for now! fave lyrics: he  said it's all ‘bout the balancewhen you’re talkin’ love and the drama, you just can’t let it control your life
7/10
mistaken: this is another one of those that have something that gets under your skin, or mine at least. i especially love her voice when it’s kind of desperate. overall tho idk, slightly boring maybe? fave lyrics: i hate to lose to my emotions
7,5/10
anywhere u go: first off……. hey you got drugs vibes. aka one of my favourite songs ever vibes. the chorus!!!!!!!! unexpected when it comes and just amazing. i already love this but i feel like it’s obsession material for me. it’s also hopeful and sweet but there’s something about it that makes my heart clench… such a cherished feeling when i listen to a song, ahhhh. couldn’t have imagined a better way to finish the album. the way she says ‘this isn’t home for me’...... i’m shivering my god. fave lyrics: [everything, but especially] this is us, this young love, i follow you anywhere you go
100/10
as usual, these could change w time, but overall this is my take... some songs could definitely grow on me even more, but still! i’ve listened twice more or less and this is what i came up with! thank you so much for asking, waiting for your opinion of course♡

R∃/MEMBER (Individual Song Thoughts) - SawanoHiroyuki[nZk] 3rd Album
I made a review on the 2nd album, 2V-ALK a while ago so here is the next installment. This is mostly for the Sawano Discord server but I’m posting it here for convenience and safekeeping purposes.
01. Glory -into the RM- (violin: SUGIZO from X Japan; vocal: Yosh)
I really love the instrumental parts of this track. It works well as an introduction piece and is up there with ~prologue~ for me. The vocal parts with Yosh are a bit weak and turn the track from a badass instrumental piece to a stadium football game chant. The track can do without it. However, there is that one section after the chorus where Yosh whispers like he’s singing in a 2000′s alternative rock band and the vocals do this cool panning effect. SUGIZO from X Japan is on the violin and his parts are really good and have a lot of synergy with the sampled bagpipes and piano. The guitar chugs are also pretty cool and remind me of TBFworld a bit. Overall, it’s a good track despite the vocal section being a bit unnecessary. Speaking of, them lyrics. “Honor of dying alone”? Was this made for Thunderbolt Fantasy or something?
02. EVERCHiLD (vocal: Akihito Okano from PornoGraffiti)
I admit the track has grown on me a bit and I definitely like it more than I did when the first preview video of it showed up. Still, as I’ve stated many times, I don’t really like happy and bright songs too much and prefer something with a stronger emotional impact. Still, the track is nice and again I’m glad Sawano did something different with the drums for once rather than layering electronic beats over an acoustic kit. My biggest problem with the track is the last chorus and the outro. “Tiny world is so stuffed all day, but nothing’s gonna change my story” is sung 6 times back to back and gets repetitive after the 2nd one. Should have just kept it as an instrumental. Other than that, I’m not the biggest fan of Akihito Okano’s voice. I like him more in the first Bnha OP for instance.
03. never gonna change (vocal: SukimaSwitch)
One of the tracks I’ve been most hyped for since the preview has dropped and boy does it not disappoint. I love the guitar and the drums and SukimaSwitch’s voice is really nice. It honestly reminds me some of the pop-ish music I used to listen when I was younger. The “2nd chorus” in the original PV was actually the bridge, to my surprise. The 2nd verse, which is new here, is really good. Love the guitar that comes in after the first few measures. Overall, the track is great.
Lastly, that instrumental outro section with the piano and guitar was completely unexpected but it’s amazing. It sounds like it would be a track rearrangement if never gonna change was an OST piece. Really good and honestly adds a whole new dimension at the end of an otherwise great track. My favorite so far.
04. narrative (vocal: LiSA)
Now we get to some of the tracks which have already been heard before in other releases. I’d be repeating myself if I go in detail like with the other tracks so the tl;dr version would be that I don’t think LiSA’s voice fits this type of Sawano music at all. Not that it’s a surprise considering the track wasn’t even composed with her vocals in mind. The instrumental is, for all it’s worth, actually not that bad. I don’t really mind the strings, or “casio pad strings” as dante calls them and it makes the song at least a bit more interesting.
05. i-mage (vocal: Aimer)
It’s been a long time since an Aimer and Sawano collab and unfortunately I don’t think the wait was that worth it. For the record, I really love Aimer’s voice but the song composition itself is what I dislike. Similarly to EVERCHiLD, the song just doesn’t have enough emotional impact, at least for me. I can see the appeal of it otherwise but personally it doesn’t do much on my end. The intro and verse are alright but the chorus is where it gets too playful for me to take it seriously and I found myself spacing out and losing focus on the actual track which hasn’t happened with the other songs so far. The 2nd verse has some cool bass going on but it sounds really noisy in the mix for some reason. Lastly, again, same problem with EVERCHiLD where the standout English portion of the lyrics, in this case “Light and dreams that children hold tight, now you have them in your right hand” repeats way too much in the last chorus and outro portions. Same formula.
Despite all of these complaints I think if I listen to the track enough it might grow on me. Might. But other than that, a bit underwhelming and personally my least favorite Sawano and Aimer collaboration for now.
06. NOISEofRAIN (vocal: swan with nishi Takanori Nishikawa from TM Revolution)
I’m gonna be honest here, it’s really hard for me to talk about this song without any irony and memes to go with it. This song just slaps. That’s it. I listen to it on an almost daily basis and have been doing so since it came out at the end of November. Can’t really say much other than it’s my favorite [nZk] song and Takanori Nishikawa is the OG.
One thing I have to point out though is that the mix in this album’s version is slightly different than the one in the narrative/NOISEofRAIN single, specifically the start of the first verse where there’s two synths that are either made really quiet or missing. Yeah, I’ve listened to this track way too much in order to notice the smallest things like that..
OUTRAGERS DRIVE ME NUTS
07. Binary Star (vocal: Uru)
This is the one older [nZk] song I can’t put my feelings into words for. I really like Uru’s voice and I hope Sawano collaborates with her again in the future, but the song itself is just... strange. Specifically the instrumental. It’s just really weird, having the strings and piano portion at first and then adding drums later on. I just don’t know what to think. I definitely don’t dislike it and I do enjoy it but that’s it. I actually really need to listen to it more often...
You know what, Binary Star is really nice.
08. ME & CREED <nZkv> (vocal: Sayuri)
Okay... so... uhm. I guess this is it. This is the track. I’ve made fun of this song a lot back when we only had PVs to go on. I called it a lot of things and overall shared the server’s opinion that it’s not that great. But you know what? I listened to it once today, in the full album. Just once, didn’t really need to listen anymore to open my eyes.
By the way, little fun fact: It’s actually spelled Me & Creed in the original Blue Exorcist OST, or I guess if you want the full name.. “Exorcist Concerto First Movement”... something like that, don’t !songtitle me... but yeah I’m just delaying the inevitable here.
So, I have finally been able to have a fresh, reformed opinion on ME & CREED <nZkv> and express my true feelings. Because, well, the truth is...
...
It still fucking sucks.
Honestly... just.. why? First of all, out of all of the “High Pitched Jpop Vocalists That Do Not Match Sawano’s Composition Style” category members, Sayuri is by far the worst. And, you know, that might just be be for not preferring this kind of voice that a lot of Japanese singers, but I’ve listened to some of Sayuri’s own stuff and it’s not bad because the SONG ACTUALLY FITS HER VOICE.
Now, despite all of this the verse is alright. The chorus is where the harmonies really get out of hand and only make the already bad vocals worse. And it wouldn’t have been as jarring if the instrumental was decent but it’s not. Me & Creed is not at all the type of song that would benefit from overly punchy kick drums and toms and it loses its entire flavor just with the drums alone. It sounds like a below-average pre-rec demo of the original track and doesn’t even respect what kind of song the original is.
Also, this is made for a mobile game. I don’t know about you but if this was in a game as its main theme that would not give me a good impression.
Fun fact, this is the only track on the entire album that is under 4 minutes long. I guess you can say it came short in multiple departments. I give it an Aldnoah Zero out of 10.
09. Unti-L (vocal: ASCA)
After the traumatizing experience that is the previous track, I come to something that is actually good. Unti-L and never gonna change are my favorite new tracks from this album. I’ve been looking forward to this one since the first 5 second PV and I’ve been listening to the short version a lot for the past week. The song is incredible. 6/8 time signature, ballad-y sound, strings and good sound design in general makes for a solid and near flawless track. ASCA’s voice is very enjoyable and I find that it works well with the song since it was probably made with her vocals in mind unlike narrative and... the other thing.
I can’t really say much else, really. Great intro, verse, vocals, melody and overall sound. The instrumental break/bridge is also very pleasant with the simple guitar. Probably the most emotionally impacting track on the album and I love it.
10. Cage (vocal: Tielle)
The original Cage is interesting but I have to say I find it inferior to the <NTv> version from the narrative/NOISEofRAIN single. I’m not the biggest fan of the synth in the intro and the electronic drums don’t quite do it for me in terms of the overall sound. The <NTv> version is still superior in every way and has fits more with the melody and Tielle’s voice. Overall though, the composition is great but you can’t really look at the instrumental alone in both cases since Tielle’s voice makes the track what it is.
11. REMEMBER (vocal: mizuki, Gemie, Tielle, naNami, Yosh)
Should have just credited it as [nZchoir].
On a serious note, this sounds like something you would hear in a Disney Channel movie, especially the chorus. The track is surprisingly pleasant to listen to and I find it really catchy and easy to jam and sing along to. Also like the parts where there’s just one vocalist singing and the choir effect in the chorus is really nice as well. Again.. Disney movie.
I actually want to say more about this track but I definitely need to listen to it a bit more to make other comments. Other than that, it’s nice.
Conclusion
As a whole, this seems like a much more fresh album than 2V-ALK. It still doesn’t compare to the diversity and variety in o1 or how solid UnChild is, but I still think it’s at least on par with 2V-ALK despite not having all that many songs. Still, the new original tracks here (well, almost all of them) are interesting and despite my comments on some of them I do think they do their thing and make the album.. work, I guess. I definitely have some tracks I want to go back and relisten to a few of them though, which is a good sign.
I don’t have individual ratings for the tracks but in terms of ranking, a few hours after my first impressions and a few listens I would order them in the following fashion. The best is at the top and the worst is at the bottom.
NOISEofRAIN
never gonna change
Unti-L
Glory -into the RM-
Binary Star
REMEMBER
EVERCHiLD
i-mage
Cage
narrative
you know what goes here.
And that would be it. Thanks for reading!
