and heres the rest of the bug fable oc gang!!!!! all on ms paint.. all made during my gl tests... hfdfshgchgdgh

left to right, up to down: Retani, Hyme, Citrus, Thulial, Fruss, Ochre

ramblings about the ocs here all under the cut bc for once im not hiding them in the tags fgdjhcghdfj- its.. pretty long tho.

ive talked a tiny bit about all of them except ochre here on the blog before but now.. you get in depth ramblings of them all!!!!! ahahaha >:)

Retani and Fruss are in a 'team' called Sharp-Eyes, except they're not actually official explorers yet. Fruss just decided "oh we're a team now! :)" and Ret didnt object to it. hfhjhdjfhgdf

Retani can glide! lore says only bees and wasps can fly? i do not see it /j. anyways the in-universe explanation ive cooked up is that shes from a family of moths who kept that flying ability, but it weakened overtime, so now she can only glide. shes got strong ass legs though so she can leap into the air a bit. she mainly uses this gliding ability to scare off other bugs in the lost sands, as she has eye patterns on the insides of her wings. when she leaps up, the eyes are illuminated and it usually turns on a bugs flight or fight mechanism. or stuns them for a few seconds. enough to either chase them off or get a head start in the battle.

she has a pet millipede which was a failed roach experiment. they were testing out how they could make powers, and ended up sticking some crystals into a lesser bug. it 'didnt work', so they released it back into the wild and Ret ended up finding it. i say didnt work in quotation marks bc the real reason they didnt manifest is bc the bug was terrified and didnt use the power. the only power the millipede really gained was flight, so they just kinda hover around. now they work together :)

her name is me mashing the word retina slightly, bc y'know. the eyespots. eyes. yeah.

Hyme is also a roach experiment, and was their most successful attempt at recreating a bug (orchid mantis) from before the awakening. was the reason that particular roach lab got trashed :) shes a bit sassy, and is kind hearted, but wont hesitate to beat the shit out of bugs who have hurt her or the bugs she cares about. she's sorta-friends with the cat-spider experiment oc i have since they were created in the same roach lab and helped each other escape, though they parted ways shortly after. yes i made a cat oc in a game where the whole population is bugs. yes i am going to get a cat oc into every fandom that i join, no matter how out of universe it is to have one in that setting.

her name is a shortening of the scientific name of the orchid mantis (Hymenopus coronatus).

Citrus is a bombus citrinus, and i got inspiration for him bc i wanted to make a bee oc, but didnt want it to be an exact copy of vi. so i googled bee species and one of the first species i saw was his. and apparently those types of bees go into different hives and take them over by force. so i got ~inspired~. djfchjggfdd. his backstory is that he came from a hive of bombus citrinus, and had made friends with a bee from a diff hive. they hung out for a while, but eventually, due to them being kind of close together, the citrinus hive ended up attacking and taking over the friends hive. the friend, thinking that citrus had something to do with this, was like "dude what the fuck????". citrus didnt have anything to do with it, but couldnt say it clearly. the two broke off, and citrus ended up running away from the merged hive shortly after.

his name is pretty self explanatory in origin dhcjhgd (bombus citrinus. citrus. y'know.)

Thulial is a rosy maple moth! i designed her before picking her species dhfdjchjdgsjcddgf. shes really, really fluffy. floof to the max. shes a kind soul who sews a lot. i love her. <3 i imagine that her wings drape over her like a cape...

her name is me mashing the words thulian and coral together hfdjhcfd

Fruss was a wasp scout under the wasp kings rule!! she at first was under whatever mind controlling thing hoaxe was doing but after she got attacked by a rather feral lesser bug (giving her a face scar and her broken leg) she was basically snapped out of it. shes pretty good at following orders, though, so she was undetected by hoaxe. after hearing about the bug rangers from jayde, fruss decided that she would escape and become an explorer. except she has a total of 5 and 1/2 braincells so Retani ended finding her in the lost sands dying of dehydration because she didnt prepare well enough for the journey fhdjsfhdcgf. she flies 99% of the time bc her leg broke from the lesser bug attack and it healed wrong.. so she cant put too much pressure on it (via walking). her wings are very strong bc of this and shes very experienced on fighting in the air. fast girl :)

fruss's name is me mashing the word fructose slightly. bc wasps apparently eat sugar to survive. i didnt actually know that before :eyes: also i chose fructose bc i think she would probably like fruit a lot as a snack <3

and the last one is Ochre!!! a beetle. i dont quite have much for him personality wise rn but i imagine that he came from the same kingdom as kabbu, as a very skilled fighter. they ended up wanting to move to bugaria so they could settle down for a bit. on the journey, he ended up finding a (rather intact) cat corpse. they dont know what a cat is, of course, so they cut off a bit of its fur as a sort of 'trophy', and also because he wanted to figure out what the hell this huge thing was. they could probably ask what it was when they got to bugaria. when he was going around the corpse, he ended up looking at the face of the cat and seeing it was directly looking at him. this, of course, was terrifying for him. because he thought this thing was dead. he quickly got out of there afterwards and the rest of the trip to bugaria went without a hitch. though, the experience still haunts them. they wear the fur they collected around their neck as a sort of 'fur collar' (like a moth). technically, the cat was actually dead, and the eyes looking directly at him were a (un)lucky coincidence, but he doesnt know that! shhh :)

his name comes from the color of the same name.. and also bc his colorpallet in my head is much like a sunset with warm oranges and yellows.

that is all! i do have some more stuff to add onto some of the chars but this is already way too long so!!!!!!!! fhcdgjdchggfd

prince of egypt: oh my gfucking god . bro the music. the ANIMATION. the story too like obviously its based on a religious tale but i mean the way its portrayed and interpreted and how it all comes across was so on point. and did i mention THE FUCKGIN MUSIC dude i would try to sing every song when i was a kid and i think attempting that literally improved my range growing up

shrek: ok when ur a kid literally all u want is to feel mature and cool. shrek was that in an hour and 30 minutes. all the adult humor. and even the shit that would fly over your head somehow still always registered as so funny. every line is burned into my brain bc i watched it so much it was so fuckgin funny and entertaining and the storyline was so depthful and important. shrek for president

sinbad: oh yeah he makes me wanna sin. Bad

rise of the guardians: oooohhg the plot was so cool and intriguing,,, the designs were so unique,,,, also i actually used to. cosplay jack frost when i was a teen osfkjskjfhksdjf i might have like One picture around here somewhere,

over the hedge: every character is perfectly designed and perfectly voiced and the humor was so good. me at like 8 years old watching hammy the squirrel drink coffee and frolic around in a slowed down world was the peak of comedy

madagascar: its just such a classic. another movie where every line is burned into my cerebellum bc i had it on dvd. id say out of this whole list this close to number one. idk where to even begin with how stupidly hilarious it was to me

httyd: lbr who didnt just do a full [lisa simpson face] when you got to the end and hiccup had lost part of a leg. the whole movie had this aura that it was like not tethered down somehow while still being great family friendly media. also im ace sexual and UHH big dragon

antz: unironically i think it deserves so much more than it gets. the anti war messages are great the designs are cool and it goes back into the shrek maturity territory where they get to say CUSS WORDS. p much my only qualm is that woody allen had to be there 😔😔😔

shark tale: ok dont cancel me but i really love the plot actually. i mostly love the mafia shark boy that dresses as a dolphin but even the will smith fish crash-and-burn fame hubris thing while annoying at times was rly intriguing. and the designs are the kind of thing that as a kid i loved but as an adult i do. struggle , w ith, a bit, but overall funny and entertaining story

el dorado: the music slaps so fuckgin hard thats another example of me tryna sing cartoon music to an embarrassing degree. also the Colorse . the designs . and the humor osjfsjdf the only downside is just a personal vibe bc the best friend conflict storylines make me anxious sometimes lol

flushed away: oh my god dont at me. some of the characters are so fuckgin annoying and some of the humor is just so much but i rly did like the worldbuilding and storyline. stupid posh ass rat was rly cool actually. also yet another mafia/gang violence plot in childrens media why is that so funny when ur a kid god

spirit: GREAT MUSIC GREAT STORY! i think the way the story goes like, its Better to be told with regular horses and narration rather than talking horses,,,, but my dumb whimsical child ass just didnt latch onto that style as much as the talking animal movies

shrek 2: rly good tbh all the new characters introduced are interesting and entertaining to watch, but i mostly remember it for i need a hero and human shrek. didnt rly hit the same mark as the first :/

httyd 2: another great movie with another great twist but it almost felt like too much at once for my little brain to handle. overloaded me with gay emotion

megamind: i love everything it stands for i just never saw it until like a year ago so its not that dear to my heart

kung fu panda: not my style of humor, i saw it once and can hardly remember it but i feel like the plot was wholesome and cute

the croods: so funny and good, ive seen it many times actually. but some of the humor just isnt my thing (its, well, crude, which also took me like 5 yrs to get that joke,)

bee movie: was pleasantly surprised the first time i watched it??? it was pretty good and it did kinda make fun of itself so idk why its so cringe to ppl. barry b benson entertained me unironically

chicken run: i saw it once when i was very young and it just didnt resonate with me also claymation most of my childhood terrified me

wallace and gromit: same as chicken run

entire never saw it tier: dotn hate me i just dont have a lot of time on my hands. i know i will be oppressed into watching peabody and sherman within the week and i accept the charges

monsters vs. aliens: someone got it for me on dvd and i hated it so much. its not even that bad its just a me thing like for some reason the part where the lady becomes a giant during her wedding or w/e was just like. the worst nightmare i could imagine i hated it and it made me scared to get married bc i thought that could happen to me. also none of the main cast is charming to me one of thems a bug and i have a bug phobia so i could never rly get thru it im sorry but i coudltn do it

madagascar 2: alex backstory was kinda good but the rest was forgettable for me

madagascar 3: visually kinda cool but. :/// felt really off compared to the previous movies, like an obvious cash grab. i mean who could forget the constant polka dot afro circus song advertisements

shrek 3: again mostly just remember it for the frog dad dying ,,,

shrek 4: i only saw it like 5 months ago for the first time. fiona being a warrior in an alternate timeline or w/e (if that was real and not a fever dream) was the only semi tolerable part for me

penguins of madagascar: the first few minutes with them as babies was cute the rest i physically could not keep my attention on. i dont remember anything else im sorry

afraid: what's something you are no longer scared of?

idk if it counts but im not as scared of small spiders as I used to be still terrified of every other spider though

bats: do you sleep with stuffed toys?

again im not sure if it counts but yes and no, I have a sock monkey and a little sloth stuffed animal on my bedframe so I dont technically sleep with them but they're very near to where I sleep

candles: whats your favorite scent?

right now its the oatmeal cookie candle i have in my room! just in general I think it would have to be something sweet like cupcakes or flowery like lavender

cobwebs: are you scared of insects?

100% do not want them near me just last night a spider so lovingly decended down right in front of my face and I nearly had a heart attack so thanks for that spider

also not a fun of really any bug except maybe snails and those chunky little fuzzy bees can stay

ghost: have you had a supernatural encounter?

oh im positive I have! When I was little my dad lived right next door to my grandma so I bounced back and forth from their houses and I knew growing up that one or both of those houses were haunted

one thing that still freaks me out to this day is every so often when I was staying in my room at my grandmas house, I would hear actual whispers in my bedroom while trying to fall asleep. Like real people were standing in my room whispering to each other, it was so loud. They always went away when I opened my eyes though and you know that sound when you drag something heavy across the floor? Once in a while I would hear that in my bedroom too and it thoroughly scared me

This is going on too long but also across the hall from my old bedroom is our atticy/computer room and I used to sleep with my door open and you could see right into the darkness of the attic room and I always imagined there were things watching me sleep from that room

I blame that one episode of suite life of Zack and Cody where they investigate the old haunted hotel room

Sioux falls hold good memories though, i would pick it in a toss up between Sioux Falls and Lawrence. But in this comparison, their new lives win.

22. Scariest episode?

I don’t really get scared of episodes BUT here are mine

Skin, it’s just lowkey NASTY (but so good)

Bugs (i have a huge phobia of bees, so after i learned it was real bees, i am terrified of that ep and won’t watch it (not even bc its cheesy))

Jump the Shark (4x19) because of all the blood sam lost

The s6 to 7 run where cas devolved into evil. I was so afraid he would be gone forever, i’m so glad they ended up deciding against that. it was also so hard seeing a character go from so good and true and loyal to so evil and power hungry.

The Future (s12 e 19) I THINK IT’S THIS EP but just that one scene in the very beginning where we see kelly *** herself is so graphic and genuinely one of the only scene i get squeamish about.

The s14 run where we discover that god was never on their side. Scary to think about in an existential way.

29. Be stuck in alternate!Kaia’s universe or Michael’s universe?

Michael’s. It’s an apocalypse world, considering I feel like im in one now, i’d prefer it. genuinely, I think the lighting in Kaia’s world would get to me and give me a headache lol. It’s a little TOO Jurrasic park for me, not enough human interaction.
