I was planning to build new desktop this fall, but seeing that the winter half year practically chains me to bed making me incapable of sitting up I took some of my savings to get a laptop so I can have it in bed for drawing, writing etc at least. And so I'll save back up the coming months and build it once spring arrives instead (hopefully component prices has gone down then too)

All that to say I can only eat my hands as I catch glimpses of dawntrail news after having been ffxiv-less since july last year. my abstinence is out the roof

4th yr review thing (3rd yr here once again i feel like im pretty contrary to popular opinions lol)

-popularity event: once again disappointed but not surprised. fans of this series love to be told/feel like theyre the “underdogs” when theyre actually the most majority prevalent. im glad i can actually grab marth this year tho, bc it was hard when the least bad character last yr was the person saying mass murder is ok (eirika im happy for too, even tho i dont like some parts of her character/game, namely the romance/childhood friend story between the main characters and antagonist)

-valday: honestly if last years was a big skip this is like. skip times infinity. its even worse than last years one if thats possible, bc i literally dislike strongly every single featured character (tho to be fair i do think this yrs free character is the least bad character...tho not rlly bc theyre all bad this year. that is if it was other characters id be skipping tempest trials)

-of course free 5 star is a big skip, to be expected bc this years seasonals were trash shit (i wouldnt mind plumie but im not risking getting tons of awful people for a chance to get her, and i still havent forgiven them for screwing idunn over). the peoples choice one maybe if its good like altina last yr, but otherwise maybe no.

-custom player: ew no. like... i guess its cool? is what would be my attitude towards like...kids or ppl who want more their appearance represented sorta thing, but i know its just there so assholes can have a person to insert with their control freak baby boy or privacy invading asshole or whoever other awful character. or op power level assholes. so overall no. but then again it seems optional so i just wont touch it (if i can)

-barracks still not updating is trash shit but tbh i bet they just expect ppl to pay orbs for it now lol (rubbish). hero merit increase is good (my eir is maxed), new skills are neat (wonder if my boi hrid will get some!) but not super exciting. really nothing worth noting gameplay wise lol.

overall i dont think it was good. like... not the worst but def not good imo. i think the best news for me was that marth is getting a thing and cyl5 wont just be 16 fanservice of boring husbandowaifus. but overall boring as usual for anni
