Of course, take your time, and I totally get that inspo comes and goes, you can’t rush a masterpiece (which Heartlines is shaping up to be). Ah, Heartlines, the bane of my existence (affectionate)... when I first took a break from it, I was confident I'd come back to it within a few weeks and now it's been over 2 years, and the problems I have with it have morphed into something totally different.
I would really like to finish it, and I actually found my full outline last week to review and try to restart it but my head canons have changed a lot in the past few years and I really, really don't think I'll be happy unless I go back and rewrite the Harry's birthday chapter, because I now interpret the DH kiss so much differently than I used to and my mind is a little bit stuck on the characterisation being wrong.
So, I'm still not ready to say Heartlines is abandoned (am I in denial? Who knows), but it's definitely in a prolonged work shopping phase, and I don't think I'd start posting again unless I had the whole thing written, because I really wouldn't want to start posting and let everyone down again (but I live and thrive off comments, so the paradox is I'd probably have an easier time writing if I just started posting).
You definitely didn't come off as entitled. This was a lovely ask to receive it makes me so happy that anyone likes my writing and cares enough to reread... and to reach out! It just makes my sappy heart very full, so thank you again, anon. Ily ❤️❤️

I've seen Emaziska before in the fandom, usually in this sexy exes dynamic, and, while that can be nice, my issue is that I don't know how they get together before they become exes?? HAHA Like, they could just have been sleeping together obviously, but. I'm a romantic 🥺. I want romance. And I don't know how to achieve that with them whshdsg
I feel like this is my problem with Franziska ships in general, because she just doesn't show much romantic interest in anyone. She's very driven and single-minded, and I think she views romantic relationships as distractions. Ema is also rather career-oriented so that's another setback for me, and I feel like her open adoration of Edgeworth mixed with Franziska's still highly competitive relationship with him would make their relationship a little odd at best and slightly explosive at worst. You could maybe say that Ema would idolise Franziska, too, because she fits in with her idea of what a prosecutor should be, but we've seen them interact in Investigations, and Ema doesn't seem to view Franziska like that.
I can't really see them getting together at the stages of their life that we've seen, but I do think that after they've grown up a bit more, past Ema's detective days and Franziska's judgement of her own self-worth based on whether she can best Edgeworth or not, they'd be really sweet! They're both very independent women with sharp minds, and they'd clearly respect each other very much. I think Ema's open exuberance for Franziska's skills as a prosecutor and Franziska's cool, matter-of-fact admiration for her skills as a forensics scientist would mesh really well! I've kind of sold myself on this version of their dynamic HAHAH Thank you so much for asking me about them, Anon! They were very fun to think about <3 💖💝💞💓♥️💝💗

hullo anon! i've been going thru some stuff that basically lowered my self-esteem in writing fics so im taking some time off writing for the fandom—which is also one of the decisions that pushed me into letting go of my socials for much longer than i expected bc i was so afraid that i wouldn't be able to finish the fics by the end of august (lo and behold, it's almost end of september djcjdkdj)—and when i did take some time away, i realized loads of stuff which didn't help and i... i just basically hated writing. i'm not saying this to incite massive guilt tripping to those who's asking for updates, but yeah that's what's been going on in my life for the past weeks but thank you thank you so much anon that you're looking out for my fics and that there's someone out there other than my wonderful friends who appreciates my stuff. ily anon you have my whole heart 🥹♥️
