"Say pal, you don't look so good..."
Happy 10th anniversary Don't Starve! And happy birthday to Wilson!
I remember getting hooked on this game back in 2013, when I was in animation school. It's the only game I've regularly played ever since then.
Here's to 10 more years!

No but people acting like bloodweave has been popular from the get go and is just about shipping two random men together when in actuality this ship barely fuckin existed until a week ago and a lot of the shippers I've come across like the ship from the perspective of being SA/abuse survivors but like go off I guess

i'm fairly certain this theory is wrong, so this is more of a headcanon/alternate story (that i think makes more sense thematically and fits into botw canon better lol) buuut wouldn't it be a cool twist if the depths are actually the original hyrule? because rauru can't stop ganondorf he seals him away with his arm and then creates a new world on top, which everyone evacuates to. a handful of locations from the old hyrule get saved as sky islands and the new castle has a passage built down to where ganondorf is in hopes that someone can one day actually defeat him (but that knowledge is soon lost to time). meanwhile beneath the new hyrule, ganondorf's malice/gloom corrupts the old land and begins to seep out to the surface, sometimes manifesting in a form that comes to be known as the calamity ganon.
so now we can reconcile this game with botw. the loss of the old hyrule predates the war impa tells us about in botw against the calamity 10,000 years ago. the sheikah study and expand on surviving zonai tech to create their tech, including the divine beasts (modeling them after the sages' headpieces). also this explains why there are so many zonai mines down there but absolutely none on the surface. the depths are the old zonai kingdom, destroyed in war with ganondorf!
thematically it fits better too! rauru gets actual flaws (pride) and we see some real consequences for his actions (pressuring ganondorf to swear fealty -> the fall of his kingdom). zelda gets to actually learn something from the past, instead of just standing there in the background.
and best of all this creates an extremely sexy gameplay/story/setting resonance: there is something dark at the foundations of this land (literally, the depths) and we've been paying the price for generations. but the only way to heal is to light up (literally, with lightroots) our past and learn from it (specifically, learn to make allies and friends, literally with the sage powers), so we can build (literally, with ultrahand) a better future.

OKAY..... finally made enough progress on R♡R for another round of playtests....! we're reaching the end (of writing. which would mean time to start on editing. and then a mountain of art)
still v much chewing on, like, "win state"... i have a fluffy/nebulous option that's like, narratively+emotionally v satisfying but in practice potentially impossible/frustrating, or a point-based option thats much more functional/more of a sure thing but might be kind of a betrayal of some of the stuff im trying to evoke...
okay maybe "betrayal" is a strong word. not gelling, more like. trying to hit that sweet spot in the middle where something is emotional and evocative and freeform (enough) but also like, actually mechanically replicable lmao

okay so we got bloodborne kart, we got dark souls pro skater, now we need the demon's souls party game, the sekiro rhythm game, and the elden ring dating sim.
(at first i thought about elden ring being the party game but nah man, there's like so many characters in that game that people have the hots for. and so much variety! you got big wolf dude, pretty multi-armed witch lady, cute girl who is actually a cute snake, cute snake's dad who is a guy fused with a giant snake, pretty knight lady who will kill you (unless you're the 'let me solo her' guy), a big clay jar full of corpses, a literal fucking dragon, patches... there's something for everybody!)

i feel like a lot of lgbt disc horse would be solved if ppl simply stopped trying to fit others in boxes, like you know how you'd tell this to cis ppl about us trans folk? same about gay or lesbian or bi, theres infinite ways of fitting in these labels, you can't take these from someone else for whatever reason, like idk a lot of those issues feel like situations easily solved with an agree to disagree

i hope singularity 6 update the romance and friendship routes further in palia, some of them end in a kind of unsatisfying way? not really reaching much of a conclusion?
also i love reth to bits but having him go from "smug flirt" to "awkward genuine affection" would be a lot cuter if he went to "awed and dumbstruck in love" after you gave the reciprocity pin instead of staying awkward and unsure

yakuza dead souls had so much swag for having a funny install screen on the ps3 and no one ever mentions it
the gameplay in dead souls kinda made it suffer iirc n it's been a bit forgotten among non rgg fans but every rgg fan i know who knows abt it thinks it's pretty fun/great
