So, I discovered your blog on twitter as I saw someone saying to block you and it made me curious to see what that was about and while I don’t really care about a lot of your opinions, I would like to give me 2 cents on certain topics you’ve touched previously bc you said that people can rant on your blog and it’s hard to find a place to give your honest opinion. So here goes: First of all, I wish people would stop hating on Jonny for his likes and comments. And I say that I someone who doesn’t care for that man. While I don’t buy into the theory that he and Simone hate each other, it’s pretty clear that he doesn’t have a soft spot for her like he does for Phoebe and CC, which is fine by me bc Simone also doesn’t have a soft spot for him like she does for Ncuti and Phoebe. And I absolutely don’t think she supports them only bc she’s friends with them cause I don’t think she’s that close to anyone she’s worked with and keeps her personal and professional life separate. I think she just supports people she really likes just like Jonny and that’s ok. They worked together and then went their separate ways and only engage with people they really like online. It’s mutual. Second of all, there are so many Simone fans who throw her under the bus in order to defend Jonny and it’s sad to watch. There really is no difference in the way they speak about her when defending him and how a hater would put her down if someone said something about their fave like NC or India. I remember the way some people were talking about her when they ss I guess your blog and then a fan pointed out to stop dragging Simone which lead to someone saying that they are defending Jonny from homophobia. Now nobody should tolerate homophobia, but there really was no need to say stuff like ‘they hate him bc he’s booked and she isn’t’ and ‘he’s not the one who told people to not ask questions about his job, she did’. Like hate on the person writing homophobic shit. Why are you dragging that person’s favourite celebrity like a hater would in order to get at them?! And they’re apparently fans of the person they’re dragging! I’m convinced that 97% of Simone/Jonny fans would absolutely choose him over her if they ever had to and it’s sad. I really want her to have her own fans one day. Anyways, rant over!

I don't think Simone and JB hate each other, let me tell you the whole campaign "block that person" that started on twitter against me took place because I went against some mean girls of the fandom who thought they held the universal truth in their hands....this being that JB and Simone are besties. I don't think they are, and as you said, they're probably just collegues who worked on a project together and that's it. I do think Simone had a bad experience on that set tho.

you're absolutely correct when you say some people only disguise themselves as Simone fans because the've proven so many times that they're ready to throw Simone under the bus to defend that man when I "attack" him on my blog. If they're so pissed with me is there a reason to joke about Simone state of employment? or to say "I'm a Simone stan but I have no choice but to say this about her..." these are things that happened not more than a month ago, it was said by people who even have Simone fan pages on twitter or instagram. Fucking yikes.

Also don't worry, Simone does have her fans, when her other projects come out it's only going to get better

Ways in which Emma is starting to act like Not Emma™

1. "improbably" and "scudding" feel like VERY old words. I looked up scudding and its peak usage was around 1850, but it recently has started to be used more so this reason could just be a strawman

2. "well it doesn't matter what I thought" as much as we all love Emma implying that she thought he was going to propose, this is so much Tatiana on so many levels. Tatiana has literally said in previous diary entries that her "only purpose in life...is meant to be to find a better last name to replace [Lightwood] with." Emma is a modern woman who, while I'm sure she would love to marry Julian more than anything, probably wouldn't be hanging onto that expectation any time he seems intent on asking her a question.

2b. the fact that Emma just let that thought linger and disappear is a trait that Tatiana might have as the youngest child and only daughter of a family that values sons more. Her language would display more attributes of "powerless language," which discounting her thoughts, especially ones that show she is a woman in love, seems like it would be akin to

3. "I was pretty freaked out he even mentioned BREAKING UP as a concept" I related to this line too much to realize that this wasn't Emma at first. I can't imagine her being this insecure, especially with loving, doting, logical Julian, who would obviously use this as a preemptive statement alone. Tatiana, on the other hand, is so understandably insecure about love because of the family she was raised in. this also points to my theory that she enchanted a "silver band" to give to Rupert to keep him loyal to her.

The list could very well go on, but this is what I have atm. Thanks to @starlight-in-my-eyes for bringing Emma's Not Emma™-ness to my attention because holy mother of all that is good in the world I am STRESSED about my queen okay?

[Emma just describing the sky at all] feels so... like the way Tatiana writes, she does it as if she's in a movie. She likes to portray herself as the Main Character and in such needs a bunch of outward images to set the scene and give reason for the choices she makes.

Emma, on the other hand, literally would not give a shit about any of that, because, as she herself said, she isn't a writer. Her writing is completely stream of conscious and often goes completely off the rails. She wouldn't set a scene, give reasons, and then follow it up with a logical story arc, as the first paragraph of this diary entry does.

Yay, well let's try this. Been a minute since I've done one but let's go.

1) Birthday- April 27th

2) Zodiac Sign- Taurus

3) Height- I'm short, like 5'3 if I remember correctly. Something close to that at least. I've stopped hoping I'll grow

4) Last song I listened to: Oh gods, uhhh, "Who am I" by RIELL & Besomorph or "Lemon Boy" by Cavetown. Not sure which one bc I use both Youtube and Pandora for music.

5) Hobbies: Oh boy, I don't have many and I never really do anything but Writing, Painting objects, reading, and maybe you can put social media here. To go further indepth I've been writing for a REALLY long time now but after those initial 2ish years I've been in almost constant writers block due to A) no encouragement or intrest shown unless by my parents B) Friends who normally tell me to stop ["Why are you always writing so much, why not go out and do something" "Oh, I'll read it later." *never brings it up nor asks to read anything* "Why would we care about this?" and so on. Only have one non-family member and he is a fucking angel] and C) I hate everything promptly 3 seconds after I 'finish' it and have no one to convince me otherwise before I delete it :) As for painting it's more of a "I'm stressed" hobby in which I'll buy something from hobby lobby or dollar tree and jaut paint it with random colors. Reading is self explanatory, I have 40+ tabs of fanfic and collections along with like 3 book series I'm working though. Needless to say it's my main hobby.

6) Favorite Color: Hard decision, I fluctuate between those rich deep purples and blues and a wine color. Constanrly I always love black though so pick one of the four.

7) Last Movie I watched: Gods, I watched "Remeber the Titians" a frw weeks ago with Aya, her sister, a Jon so probably that. Hardly watch movies at all.

8) Favorite book: Hard to say, I really have a hard time picking favorites like that. The "Shades of Magic" series by V. E. Schwab was really good so far (haven't finished the last half of the last book) but st the same time I've loved the Artemis Fowl books by Eoin Colfer for years now. There's also "19 souls" by J. D. Allen which kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. So one of those I guess.

9) Dream Job: I have no clue. When I was small I always said Geologist, from the time I was able to remember until about 10. From there I said Author to appease everyone but that's a hard career choice and with how I am impossible. Ever since I stopped wanted to eb a geologist though it's been up in the air. Psychology and Philosophy always interested me but with no one to encourge me into starting it it's just lurked in the back of my mind. So yeah, guess this can be answered as N/A

10) Meaning behind me URL: Okay this one is pretty simple. So for reasons I can't remember my first oc (outside of Kitsume, which was a one off cosplay) was named Nekonome Lilyith. Found out later that Nekonome came from an anime and no clue where Lilyith came from, but 97% sure I heard it somewhere and it stuck. Spelt it wrong, supposed to be "Lillith" or something like that but I love it and name most of my accounts that. Either "Nekonome Lilyith", "Quin Marly" or, if I share it with Aya, "Aya Dream". Name just holds a close place in my heart since I've meant so many fantastic people using it and, hell, even made myself under it. A lot of my personality has come from the internet in a good way so, yeah.

I'm a multishipper, and I'm not sold on Tuffstrid yet. I've been asking around, and I've yet to find a shipper. then i stumbled upon you. so tell me, why should i ship Tuffstrid? or, why do YOU ship it?

BUT. u r asking me about my favourite topic so 

i think maybe the first important thing to say is. i don’t like h*ccstrid. i don’t like it’s narrative, i don’t like the way astrid’s used as a plot device and this meta outside of the ships is important. fact: astrid was written as a love interest. fact: this is integral to how she’s treated and her change of characterisation. i don’t know what your thoughts of that is, but if you’re with like 97% of this fandom on it, then. maybe that’s what you’re having trouble with? i have many many many issues with the way astrid is treated in this franchise and foremost with any ship i have with her, she needs to stand up as a character on her own. 

(i feel this way about ALL characters. they should stand up on their own without a relationship. ESPECIALLY for women. their characterisation SHOULDN’T be revolving around a man, and ba ba, h*ccstrid fails cause it’s all about hiccup. the hiccup show.)

astrid’s character is built around what hiccup needs in the plot and that’s that. i don’t like that. i don’t like ���oh also now she’s a supportive gf and jsut like. is incapable at all the stuff she was training for her whole life uwu” and ppl out here like. wow. that’s growth!! Nah man. that’s a manic pixie dream viking with the personality of soggy bread masquerading as my mean, steady, sure of herself gal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what i want: astrid to be a person outside of a relationship. i want flaws, and i want humanity and i want to start with something new and not fix something broken. 

the point IS and i am running out of steam bc i am exhausted and i have been for literal days and i need to go to bed!!!!!! but. in tuffstrid, these two get to be individual characters. themselves first, and then we get the relationship. 

I LVOE THIS CHARACTRERS SO MUCH AND I WANT THE M TO BE HAPPY AND LOOK.... THEY HAVE SO MUCH CHEMISTRY................................................................................ THEY ARE GOOD FITS OK 

astrid is steady, and sure of herself and kind of a major stick in the mud and tuff is a loveable goofball who slacks off, and astrid needs some of that crazy to let go and be fun and actually have that character growth and tuff needs rountine and structure. they balance each other out.

also i put that gif there bc there is literally nothing more romantic than the way astrid’s watching tuff balance that knife and her little breath, and fond expression. tuffstrid is little fond moments, all through the series!! they hang out really close once you look. i dont give a shit about forced down ur throat ships (NEVER spell out what i SHOULD ship if u want me to. develop the romance but NEVER tell me bc i hate that). i care about tiny moments, tiny things like the knife scene, and the fact they’re always standing together, and tuff looking at astrid to make dirty jokes, and them sharing tiny stuff! i care about astrid being so adamant that tufff is aware she doesn’t think he’s hideous in direct parallel to how that’s ALWAYS a romantic thing in movies with monsters. tuff calling her milady. tuff defending her. tuff knowing astrid so well he’s the one telling hiccup how to be deserving of astrid. they have so much chemistry it’s right there, and it’s so tantalising and exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the trans thing (just FYI bc I'm obnoxious) Pacat did say on twitter a while back that trans people did exist or were accepted in the captive prince universe. I don't know if that would be a country to country basis or in general but I remember reading that! Also I lowkey love the idea of nonbinary or trans Laurent? This is all I'm going to think about for the rest of the weekend.

That’s kind of a J K Rowling move tbh because there was no mention of it whatsoever in the series. I mean TYVM Pacat for at least that much, most of the time we just get radio silence on that kind of issue. But like, that’s such a simple response for such a complicated subject. There’s the usual gender norms in both kingdoms, if someone grows up DFAB but then discovers that they’re trans, or nonbinary, are there other people in their community they can talk to? Will their parents ever have heard of that kind of thing, is it more likely they’d know about if they lived near a place of learning like a university–(The phrase “Akielon Community College” just popped into my head and I snorted)– versus somewhere more rural like Acquitart? Are there people who aren’t supportive of trans people and if so where do they live, how are they treated? Are there laws protecting trans people or ensuring their equal rights in regards to traditionally male/female professions? What about trans pets? Are there people who prefer that sort of thing (as there are irl) or is there a taboo against it? Is there any kind of stigma against being trans at all? And we can’t just say “No, everything is normal for trans people and everybody’s safe and happy” because there’s evidence in the first two books that people in Vere, at least, do not like people who are different. Laurent doesn’t like having sex or being seen as a sexual person and people think that’s weird. Damen professes that he sleeps with women (as well as men) and the Veretians are like “EW, NASTY!” Since there is probably no reassignment surgery in Vere, what does a Veretian transman do if he wants to have sex with… anyone? Being masculine and presumed to be sleeping with a woman out of wedlock is practically illegal. He could sleep with a man (which is normal and accepted in society) but what is that man going to do when he discovers his partner has feminine parts? Do they both just keep it a secret? Does the law make exceptions for cases like his? What if he gets pregnant? Do you see how AUs get complicated very, VERY fast?I would love to see someone write a cap prince AU featuring a trans person where the author addresses all of these issues BUT AT THAT POINT if you’re going to spend so much time and effort on such a personal and important project why not just make it your own and put it out to be published so trans people can have some more cool, official representation in media? It’s not like Pacat is going to pay you to do her worldbuilding for her.(as a quick aside I was like 97% sure that the “secret” about Nicaise that Laurent was hinting at in the first book was that he was trans and was pretty disappointed when it wasn’t true ;_; )
