Now her own cheeks were growing red. Going that extra mile for Kaede like this, to give her gourmet chocolates. And now Maki was asking her if she'd like to spend time together: she jokingly wondered if the gods were making all here wishes come true? "I'd be happy to!!" She instantly answers all too eagerly, which made her smile grow a bit embarrassed. Don't make it sound that obvious you really was hoping to spend time with her today, Kaede, she was screaming to herself in her head. "I...If that's okay! Well, duh, I guess it is since you're the one asking, after all, a-ahaha!"
Oh how she wants to smack her head into a wall right now. She was so excited that even she was a bit nervous, but in a good way; though she didn't want to make Maki grow even more nervous, either. So mentally taking deep breaths, she softly adds, smile just as soft: "I mean... I'd be more than happy to. S-Since I....! Really was hoping I could spend today with you, too.... and enjoy these chocolates together!" She even picks up one of the pieces and plops it in her mouth, humming in delight. "Oh I love it~! Thank you so much again for the chocolates, Maki: I can't wait to have a great time with you, today!"

and finally, sat atop all of this was a small keychain shaped like piano keys, a little reminder of her that shuichi could carry around! not only that, but pressing down on the keys would cause them to play a small excerpt from some of kaede's favorite classical songs, one for each key.

And then the piano key keychain.... as he holds it up in his hands, giving a small twirl.. he was already thinking about the perfect spot on his bag to put it. But what he didn't expect, was that a small melody would play when actually pressing them. "-!!" He gasps, quietly listening to the excerpts each key plays. "O-Oh my god... that's amazing.... what lovely melodies. In fact, these are all your favorites, right? Now there's two things about this keychain that will remind me of you! I love it."
"As for my day...? Well, it just became so, so much better: thanks to a certain someone right in front of me." He laughs, his smile warming when she wishes him the best birthday. "Aww, Kaede-san..." Carefully placing the keychain back into the box, he immediately goes closer to pull her into a tight hug. "You really are the greatest friend a guy could ever ask for.... thank you so much! For the gifts, and for making me so happy... I promise to take absolute good care of all of them. I'm having the best birthday, indeed, thanks to you...! And if you're not busy, how about we have some cake together? I would love to share some with you, and to just... be able to spend more time with you today in general..!"
