Shonen, gorey, slice of life....(Gives Naven a Seductive Look on her Face) Maybe something more explicit to spice up the room if you know what I'm saying~ (Starts Moving her Eyebrows Up and Down)
Naven: (Smiles Sheepishly) H-How about we watch some more light-hearted this evening. Like that lovely Spy x Family show. I never had the chance to watch for myself as of late, but I have heard great things about from peers.
Yoomtah: Oh yeah, that show is a banger. And hella cute to boot, you'll love it!
Naven: I wouldn't deny that possibility. It'll be nice to take my mind off of things for once. Especially everything work related.

Naven: That's correct. Despite the name and villainous demeanor, he seems like a nice, passionate fello once you get to know him a little. Molly seems to hold him in high regards due to him being her boss in some capacity.

Naven: Given the care and support he gave her during that time, I'd say the possibility of that is above average. (Grabs his Chin While Thinking) Perhaps I could arrange a lunch date for the three of us sometime in the future....(Turns Back to Yoomtah) You're more than welcome to join us, dear.
Yoomtah: Hmm...Tempting, but I'm probably gonna have pass on that offer. I feel like I would get bored too easily in these kinds of meet ups, ya know?

Yoomtah's heart flutters like a sound of a roaring car engine being turned on for the first time in minutes, as she begins to kiss all over her boyfriend's face again in a cuddling position. As surprising as the sudden affection was, Naven was more than happy to welcome it given how stressful today truly was for him earlier.

Okay okay okay okay this is going to be a MESS of a post. I have SOOOOOOOOOO many thoughts.
First of all, Sylvie!! Holy crap I love him as a detective. AND the fact that he’s Percy’s adopted father??? Charming. Beautiful. I smiled at every interaction and mention of them. And Percy still being a lawful good wannabe cop, probably to try to copy her father?? Gosh she’s sweet.
Fave part of the Museum arc is still Mera and Indus. I KNEW the amulet would still be for Mera, but I was still all :shocked pikachu: when it was revealed. I like how Indus had a curse too of not being able to feel things; UNLESS it was for Mera, and he just wanted to be able to heal her???? I just, it’s so sweet, I love it. Dare I say I love it more than the original dynamic?? I just, they make me wanna cry 🥺
Then, the part I was REALLY excited for; the Western arc.
Hoo boy. Zora. I was so excited for her! And I did end up liking her! Really!! I liked seeing how she used her epithet in different ways to con people. Butttt her character was a bit underwhelming? I guess she really shines best as a bounty hunter. As a con artist, she didn’t have that same hypocrite lawful evil attitude that original Zora had. She was still goofy and kickass, but I still like original Zora best~
Zora and Sylvie’s relationship was also a bit of a downgrade compared to Ramsey and Percy. They worked well together, but it didn’t have the same unlikable buddies or anything. They were too…normal together? In fact, I think that’s the main issue I had with the arc, is that it lost a lot of its zaniness. Which sometimes can’t be helped, and I did appreciate the new jokes written for it! For some reason, I’m obsessed with the joke where Sylvie tossed the Canadian dollar into the well and was just absentmindedly like “Make a wish” and Zora goes “I wish not to die” and Sylvie’s like “Wait, what?” It’s literally the simplest, dryest joke—which is why I love it. I have such an appreciation for dry humor; wish there was more between the two of them. I think that could have worked well!
Yoomtah and Howie HOLY SHIT. I did NOT expect them to be the switch. But I freaking loved it! It worked soooooo well!! Instead of Yoomtah and Sylvie being friendly rivals, they just run into each other a lot in Sylvie’s work (much to Sylvie’s dismay). It’s great and I loved their relationship.
I also really appreciated how the epithets were repurposed for the new situation! I knew the sheriff’s (who is now the Vice President) epithet could be useful if practiced in creative ways. And I also didn’t think about how Zora could stop the process of moving itself for a person and just make them freeze. Badass bitch I love you.
But the BEST part I saved for last.
Yup. Ramsey.
Hoooooooly shiiiiiiit how did they make this goofy uncle dude into a goofy bad ass?? Unlike Zora, he still kinda felt like Ramsey! He just really worked well in the bounty hunter position. He was able to make his goofy jokes and smartass remarks while being kinda capable at his job! And, again, though I had predicted it, I was still all :surprised pikachu: when he used his power to turn his victims to gold. And the fact he can make it melt and essentially kill someone that way?? Hooooooo man, I need a minute…
But the BEST BEST part I saved for double last.
I cannot believe I am saying this. I cannot believe this was my fave part of the entire AU.
But I fricking loved Ramsey and Sylvie’s relationship.
Their dynamic worked SO well!! Sylvie just trying to do his job and Ramsey poking fun at him?? God dammit, Ramsey, why do you work so well with cops??
These are nowhere near all my thoughts, but my phone’s about to die ww all in all it was really good and well done and I applaud the writer 👏🏽

YAY!!!! Yoomtah and Marsh are soulmates that have gone through so MUCH for each other, they have a ton of cute moments i wanna write about but they have this moment when yoomtah (when she is wished human) is asleep and instead of kissing her, marsh softly bump's her forehead with her, which shows that marsh always ask's for consent unlike her abusive ex boyfriend. They also get matching colors!!! Yoomtah gets blueish tips and Marsh wears pink socks later on :) They love each other very much!!!

IT’S THE SWAP VERSION OF WHAT GIO DID TO SYLVIE IN THE MUSEUM
I’m not overly fond of the original bar fight but I wanted to go with the same goofy cartoon brawl aesthetic, so I spent quite a while throwing around ideas before settling on “Nightmare Fuel, but it’s Gorou so instead of being actually scary it’s giant talking donuts trying to eat the people”
I think that was a good idea :)
this was just my personal vendetta upon learning Gorou’s original powerset haijgklsdfhgbh
...but also a good excuse for a swap!version of the “nah, I’m just awesome” line XD
soooooo this was a BIT of a cheat, but I had to have someone drop Molly’s name and I knew it couldn’t be Molly herself because she wouldn’t be dumb enough to do what Gio did (no offense Gio) and every other way I tried to make it happen had other problems, so. one of the reasons I didn’t like Redwood Run as much as the Museum Arc was bc I felt that Percy and Ramsey didn’t have much time to actually develop their dynamic, so what they did have felt kinda forced and rushed. of course that’s not exactly Jello’s fault bc he only had THREE episodes to work with and a lot to set up, but I still did my best to give the swap duo as many little moments as possible.
I cared NOTHING for Yoomtah before writing this episode and by the time I was done I LOVED her
one of my fav artists drew this scene PERFECTLY and I now see it in their style whenever I read it
open/confirmed spoilers up ahead regarding Yoomtah:
so the whole “Yoomtah is a robot/cyborg who runs faster than anyone and has electric powers (?)” thing REALLY bothers me because Jello NEVER established that there was magic besides Epithets during the ENTIRE SHOW SO FAR (same with Phoenicia being a magical girl) and that’s just,,,, bbghdsjkg it took me a long time to go “okay, this was based on something else first, I get it, I can get used to the new rules” but gosh I just wish that had been set up better. then again I guess it’s nice that even the writers I admire the most make mistakes.
anyway, got off topic but I love how in the swap version, Yoomtah being a robot/cyborg/??? is just vaguely implied and never actually confirmed, it’s such a good running gag
