I get very weirdly emotional when i see the cat using the new cat trees we got him. he loves them so much and it makes me happy bc the old one was a bit small (he still used it but not as much) but he loves the big one... he lays on the platform and sometimes even in the lil house, he sits like a fucking lunatic on the smaller one by the side window. He's got more animal enrichment and he fuckin' DESERVES IT!!!!!

Ben 10 lore that exists in my heart regardless of canon
- Ben’s personality in his mid-late teens is a mix of his Alien Force and Omniverse self. On the surface, he’s very cheerful and kind even if he is a bit of arrogant showoff. He makes jokes and plays around and acts as if he isn’t bothered by the things in his life. Those who know him best understand a good portion of his outward confidence and cockiness is just a facade to cover up his insecurities and to project the ideal, effortless hero. While sometimes seen as immature, most beings know Ben 10 means business as he takes his unofficial job and people’s safety very seriously. He’s clever, adaptable, charismatic and empathetic which makes him a formidable opponent and a loyal friend. Doesn’t open up easily but if you get to him, he become so dearly attached.
- Drinks smoothies so much for several reasons. Comfort food go brrr, reminds him of the good easy times with him Gwen and Kev. It’s also a light but generally nutritous food to give him energy for heroing. Anything too heavy and he’ll be puking (both from physical and emotional stress). Though he jokes about his mom’s health foods, his are a crazy concoction of add in proteins and vitamins/minerals bc he knows he’ll out and out collapse without it. (Still has on occasion bc boy still doesn’t eat right/enough)
- While Fame is exciting for him at first he soon begins to detest it. Not the fans, no, he can’t bring himself to hate the people who look up to him. But he hates the constant attention, that he can’t walk outside without being mobbed. the only place he feels safe is his hometown where most people are so used to him and his weirdness that they don’t react much anymore. Takes to wearing a cape and face shield when going out anywhere so he can actually get things done without being recognized and mobbed.
- Part of the reason Bellwood isn’t concerned with Ben is partially because ben’s been weird and alien for as long as they can remember but also many don’t realize how famous/powerful he is. Yeah that’s just Ben Tennyson over there, sometimes he turns into funny creatures- wait what do you MEAN he’s the savior of the universe?? He cried over a spilled smoothie the other day.
- Does mostly online schooling by the time he’s 15. At first he tries to do half day things to maintain something of a normal life but it quickly becomes overwhelming and dangerous him/the school. Finishes his GED early but the Plumbers and Azmuth make him take additional college level and alien courses to prepare him for his future role. Ben gripes but really does love learning all these things, especially on his terms (ADHD and stress + the public school system do not always go hand in hand). He’s a quick learner when he deems the information important and is made accessible to his learning needs.
- Ben definitely has ADHD speaking of which, it was nearly uncontrollable as a child bc his free-spirited parents didn’t believe in medicating. Ben convinced them he needed it and after some trial and error, found meds that worked. As he became more involved in heroics/growing up he had to change his medicine regimen (resulting in him being a bit more off the rails in OV) and needed antidepressants and therapy to manage it better. As an adult he has a whole litany of coping mechanisms (good and bad yes) and regularly checks in with his therapist and doctors to keep things under control.
- Has a complicated relationship with his necrofriggian children. Considers himself their mother and worries after them. They too feel a connection to their parent despite this being unusual for their species. A few visit (some more than others) while they grow while others maintain distance. Ben never breathes a word of them to the media for fear of them being targeted. Still he keeps an eye on them and ensures all 14 mature to adulthood (another rarity for the species). Checks in every now and again with the ones who don’t want to see him and those that do. Two join the Plumbers and Ben is both proud and worried. His youngest becomes partners with Rook Ben.
- Just in general loves kids, they’re his favorite fans and while he’ll grumble at pushy adult fans he always smiles and kneels down for the little ones. Not so secretly wanted to have children of his own but knew it was a risk overall and used a lot of that energy with mentoring and teaching. Eventually had Kenny later in life (late 30s-40s) and was over the moon, becoming such a loving and doing parent or as much as he could be with his hectic schedule.
- Omnitrix can’t come off, never has at any point since it first latched onto Ben’s arm. Azmuth tried and failed to get the device off, doesn’t let Ben know for many years as he feared the consequences. The watch loves and protects Ben even beyond it’s programming making him much more durable to damage and releasing energy charges when he’s threatened. Not even removing Ben’s arm would separate them. They’re stuck for life.
- Ben does have Anodite heritage but the Omnitrix actively suppresses it and uses the built up energy to power the transformations which is why ben is mostly unaffected by what should cause a massive energy drain on him. Theoretically if Ben learned to harness and safely use his Mana at an early age like Gwen he would have been fine but letting it build up without safe outlet meant activation would have killed him. Omnitrix Ben, however, went his whole life not knowing of his latent abilities and how the watch saved his life.
- Ben’s eyes get more green and glowy as time passes from the Omnitrix. At first they think its a trick of the light but by the time he’s an adult his eyes are pretty much glow in the dark. His veins light up too after long stretches of using the Omnitrix. Its vaguely unsettling to people who aren’t used to Ben.
- Max and the Earth Plumbers work so, so hard to keep teen Ben on Earth when half the universe is blowing up their comm lines asking for The Ben 10 to help with whatever problem of the day. Ben himself doesn’t quite understand when he’s younger the prestige and expectations on his shoulders. Max throws up a million and one roadblocks so Ben can live as normal a life as possible while he still can. Still, while doing that he Still overloads Ben with expectations and responsibilities on earth and beyond. He becomes a soldier again with Ben as their greatest weapon. He never forgave himself of losing sight of his grandson underneath the hero esp after Ben’s breakdown.
- Rook partnership with Ben ends not long after Omniverse with his promotion to Magister. Ben tries to play it cool but the thought of another loved one/teammate leaving his tears him apart. Max revealing that Ben most likely wouldn’t get a new Plumber assigned partner since he’s almost an adult and won’t need it and Rook accidentally missing their last smoothie run due to a scheduling mishap causes Ben to snap and have the nervous breakdown that had been building for almost a decade. He completely loses it for a little while and needs to take an extended leave of absence from school and heroics that lasts about a year. Spends time recovering both on Earth and Galvan Prime, does some diplomatic training, learns about aliens, actually confronts the stress and loneliness of his life. He comes out the other side stronger but still fragile and exhausted.
- Ben’s above mentioned breakdown brings him closer to all his friends who didn’t quite realize the extent of Ben’s burden. Rook had been under the impression Ben didn’t like him all that much so the knowledge that his departure was the final straw for friend/hero’s collapse was shocking. Ben and Azmuth also become closer, the Galvan becoming fiercely protective of the boy seeing as his Earth family didn’t do well to keep him safe. It takes years for him to get over his anger at Max for putting so much on his grandchild. Ben makes more friends, in and out of the hero business, finally gets a therapist and gets some of his burdens eased a bit. It’s not a sure fire fix and Ben has several smaller breakdowns the rest of his life but its something.
- Azmuth was straight up suicidal before he met Ben for the first time. Ben gave him back hope for the universe and his ability to create items for peace not weapons. The boy infuriates him, frightens him, frustrates him but Azmuth cannot deny in his heart of hearts that he loves Ben dearly. He’s very upset at Ben’s breakdown and doesn’t know how to handle the worst of the initail outbursts. Azmuth talks Ben down from a suicide attempt. He reaches out to Ben that he Too felt overwhelmed by pressure, thought himself only good for war. Ben’s arrival in his life saved him and now he will do the same for Ben. It’s the first positive step forward in Ben’s recovery.
- For no other reason than I like it, Azmuth primarily refers to Ben as Benjamin (mostly to annoy the kid but he likes the way it sounds too) and Ben in softer, more serious moments.
- Professor Paradox continues to flit in and out of Ben’s life. He says its because Ben is the most equipped to handle universal peril (true) but he’s also just very fond of the boy. Ben, existing in so many forms and having such importance also exists a beat outside of normal reality which Paradox identifies with. Ben is naturally attuned to time related problems because of this (instantly IDing Spanner as from the future before being told later deducing him to be his unborn son). Plus Ben named him, way back when. He’s just drawn to Ben.
- Adult Ben, while being seen as an impressively skilled fighter and champion, really has his strength as a universal diplomat of sorts. Based out of Earth, he helps mediate and defuse conflicts, advocate against tyranny and overall preserve peace and balance. He’s not perfect, he makes mistakes and sometimes is forced to become violent (and yes kill) but overall is regarded as a peacekeeper, something younger ben simply couldn’t understand.
- Gwen gets her degree and primarily does work with advocacy and teaching about magic/alien culture. While she and Ben are still close, there’s a bit of a frustrated divide in that she isn’t helping him share the burden of the universe. Gwen never wanted to be a hero and has enough worth to not shackle herself to a job that’ll burn her out. Ben loves heroing but gives too much of himself away trying to fix everything. They get into screaming arguments that it wouldn’t be so bad out there if she just helped him but she refuses to budge and says he shouldn’t make himself do so much. They always make up and thy still are each other’s closest relationships.
- Ben marries Kai in a political move, Kai is Asexual and Ben Aromantic. They didn’t love each other but they got on well enough and Ben was really feeling the stress of carrying the hero burden so Kai also being involved made him feel like he wasn’t alone. Both were also so tired of the universe constantly asking about their love life and said ‘fuck it we’re married leave us alone’. Gwen was always mad about it feeling Ben deserved better but the two of them were happy with it. They had separate rooms, mostly separate lives but they became strong friends and supports with their strictly platonic marriage. They had Ken via Invitro in an incubator and were loving if extremely busy parents.
- Also from the moment he appeared, Ben knew that Spanner was his future son, Kenny. He played ignorant and then was kind of deliberately teasing him in future encounters. He knew the rules of time and didn’t want to disrupt things further even if he was angry and worried as heck about why Ken felt the need to time travel. When future Ben catches up in the timeline, Kenny gets SUCH a lecture.
- Ben isn’t quite immortal but he’s also not entirely human anymore either. The Omnitrix not only keeps him safe from most harm but it lightens the effect of aging. Ben 10 is active many, many years when most humans would have been forced to retire. He’s not sure how long the watch will keep him alive and it terrifies him. Gwen too is functionally immortal however she ages like a normal human, then when her natural death came, shed her skin and became a fulltime Anodite. So in the end, it was her and Ben together wondering which of them will die first. Gwen has trouble retaining her humanity as pure energy and swears she’ll let herself fizzle out when Ben goes. When that’ll be however...

Every coherent though is a chain of smaller thoughts Every (thought) is a combination of (feelings that you sense) Every (feeling that you sense) is an (amount of heat in a neuron) every (amount of heat in a neuron (degrees)) is a total sum of energy every total sum of energy is a neuron firing or not firing every neuron firing or not firing is the signal cells being released from the last neuron or not etc etc
Its all either off or on, one or zero, and the derivatives of them. It goes into the FOURTH dimension, the x axis is length (or time, the units) the y axis is x width (2d space) the z axis is x, height (3d space) and the other axis is derivative of x (4d space)
Every thing is a spectrum of itself underneath the 1
Each (x derivative) is an (x), each (x) is an (intergral/anti-derivative) of (x double intiderivative) and so on
Many peoples third eyes open within their lifetime, but only a fewer amount of people actually have the means tools etc to communicative what they understand effectively with the world and possibly harness it for productivity, which is what makes the difference between one of the greatest humans in history and a weird junkie
Kinda impressed by the fact that even despite having no language like this whatsoever to communicate with junkies can find a way to express these things in a way that other people whove gone through it can somehow recognize it
Or maybe they dont recognize what im recognizing at all, they are just communicating other more sensory aspects of “it” (act of third eye being open) and the people whose third eyes actually opened recognize these aspects
I can do anything now if only i remember what this was/is like. I can succeed in any field because I understand how all of them work in principal. Or at least if i remember what i recognize now well enough and can decipher it with enough focus to find a coherent way to use it
Being smart is the ability to recall them more quickly or the ability to understand their connections with each other better or understand them on a “lower” level ( the integral of x, x being thought). Maybe there is no “third eye opening” but its just that you get down on a level few people ever do. But there is no bottom it is an infinity of x into itself, also known as x derivative of x over x intergral of x
Hang on im starting to think of aspects of this i dont understand. Like what are coderivatives or whatever you call them. I cant understand where they fit into this because i dont remember exactly what they are. And time and space being two different dimensions (x and y) or space (y) being the derivative of time (x) oh wait that is exactly what im trying to say, i feel like it could be easier if writing by hand bc i could draw actual derivative symbols instead of counting on words u can type to express what im trying to say
(Wrote this last but put it here bc of organization) Remember this to help you understand: it isnt a chain bc its not just a line its in multiple dimensions. I.E. space. But it is because neurons fire in a chain I.E. time. We can only measure one direction in time but three in space.
Ok this is gonna make me sound even crazier as if I wasnt sounding crazy already. But time travel is not “movement” (one point to another) in the fourth x dimension aka 4th derivative of x (which would be to us like a wormhole), it’s movement in derivative of y? I think y, maybe i have this wrong. Neurons are oriented in space time. The amount of energy they have in them, their location in space (x,y,z coordinates), their location in time (along the x dimension) are all ways to describe the “point” they occupy in all dimensions. (Is the space time continuum represented by the x times xyz space section of all dimensions?)
Time travel is not just derivative of x, which is moving forward aka to the future, but integral of x which is moving “backward” in time aka the past
So not only can you move “outside” i e 4th derivative of x aka the fourth dimension of space (i didnt finish this thought. earlier and am trying to remember deeply enough what it said. It looked like it was a summary of the main idea that not only “” , but also you can move y derivates .” So you actually have an infinite number of dimensions being the derivative of one another in an infinite number of directions)
When they said everythings a fractal that was real
Things go in every direction all at once. And all those things go in every direction of their direction, which is infinitely more times greater than the first “every direction all at once” (which was infinity). Do you understand?
Good god. How did they figure this out. Like when you see media depictions of being high like tool album covers and stuff they have all that fractal stuff and when a sci fi movie wants to convey something deep the zoom in on the molecules until it looks like the universe zoomed out. They understand at least some aspect of this idea.
If i actually wanted my realization to be a groundbreaking thing i would probably need to spend a lot of years trying to convince people i wasnt crazy and only if i eventually effectively communicate my ideas across and spend a lot of time and energy to would it actually later seem like i were a tragic genius rather than a crazy person. also id need to try to hold on how i felt like when i was high for so long it would have a chance of disrupting my mental health/ability to function in society (same thing obvs) and driving me toward like hard drugs and that would not be good
Its so hard to explain the fourth dimension like i really dont think i could try to draw a representation of it like some people do (those cube things, i cant remember what theyre called), my conception of it is a lot more mathematical and verbal. But i still am pretty certain I understand it whether un-high me believes me or not
When youre trying to think about this stuff and you look away at your environment and think about memories and do other complex things that require much deeper chains of neurological communications in order to process them, it becomes a lot harder to focus in on these ideas because the complex things require a much higher/broader/vaguer level of though (higher broader vaguer being words we can use to try to understand what it means to be on a “higher level” as in OUTSIDE OF, DERIVATIVE OF X, IN THE FOURTH DIMENSION etc, just as like (above) and (below) describe location along the z axis if you think of the xy plane aka z equals zero as the “ground” and above means positive z and below means negative z.)
Its going to be harder than i thought to communicate this when sober lol but its still nice i was able to experience it lol
Other things to mention 1. Up until this point (but not after), some pieces of text are out of order than they were written, usually the paragraphs were all written together though not always 2. I wasn’t hallucinating per se but I understand how they work now bc some of the things in the corners of my vision, where my eyes are giving less attention to their light receptors, I’m seeing things off from how they actually are: I turn toward them and perceive them normally but when I turn away and theyre in the corner of my vision i see the distortion again. Its not like scary hallucinations or anything like for example I perceived a giant black slab like in space odyssey in place of the dark doorway, or a wall where there wasnt one. Its because my brain was focusing/thinking in different ways than its used to and so its less sensitive to the type of information it usually takes in from its environment and its interpretations of it are less precise and thus not entirely “correct”. Its a really interesting way of thinking about what it is that you actually notice and perceive. Like the experiment where they switch out the person asking for directions and the majority of people dont actually notice its a difference person
Yeah ok i cant really write much more bc im significantly less high rn, I could sit here the whole rest of the time and try to make sure I understand all this well enough each time I get less high but I really don’t feel like doing that its like, drifting farther and farther away and taking more effort to really grasp it with each drift towards sobriety and while thinking about how I might not understand all this stuff soon I’m tired lol and I appreciate the experience. Anyway yeah
More things I was thinking in the shower: Everything is a direction? And so everything is a dimension? Not just in space or time, thats only one section of it which can be described by a “shape” with three dimensions in the space orientation and one in the time orientation. All categories are their own dimension. In any given moment you are at an intersection of a certain (point) on [the shape representing the space time continuum] and all the other infinities
Question. Does the idea of god fit into all of this. “Who is doing the moving”—that would be god? “What is “moving””, etc. ? If “everything” is all infinities of infinities and this goes on infinitely, there is no possible way to be “outside” that infinity. Therefore you cant possibly “move” it all bc movement requires a force, and that force cant come from “outside” of it so therefore it all “moves” itself? How accurate is the term “movement” to describe what i am referring to? Which is our existence. Aka where the space time continuum is oriented within the “everything”. And by extent, where we ourselves are oriented within the space time continuum. I feel like i could represent this well with a 3d image. We are each our own space time continuum? With all this being understood i believe there is no possible way for us as humans to answer the question of whether there is a god, or what god is. I could be wrong about this but I dont think I personally would be able to. Same with the question of free will. The two are definitely interrelated. I feel like the ideas ive been saying can provide a different framework for talking about questions like this about god and free will and stuff, but the new framework would have to be engaged with/understood more fully in order to get any answers significantly more substantial than what we as humans have already.
“Third eye opening” is what i refer to this experience as but thats just an expression. The eye opening metaphor doesnt hold up super well when i actually think about what i mean by it. What i mean is the moment that you started to understand existence {in a certain way}, more “deeply”/“outside of just perceiving the space time continuum. But i dont think it actually necessarily refers to a specific threshold thats being passed, i just feel like ive reached a level today that is noteworthy because of how much i am able to understand. {In a certain way} is purposefully vague because again im not really sure if there is a threshold for what that certain way actually is, or how you might determine it. Its more that i reached a significant level of understanding existence today. But when people talk about the “third eye being open”, and they actually mean it, this is definitely in the realm of what they mean. Out of all the people in the world who make claims about having their “third eye open”, probably not very many of them mean something similar as i do when I talk about my experience of the third eye being open.
I was thinking about some other stuff as i was lying in bed i didnt write it down unfortunately as i was thinking it but i think it was pretty much repetitions of earlier ideas but elaborated in slightly different ways. overall the final thought was that in sum here are was that i not only can finally conceive of the idea of the fourth (spatial) dimension properly, but i also finally understand that the spatial dimensions are only one tiny “branch” of the many infinities of dimensions that branch into infinitely more infinities of dimensions. I understand now what is meant by “space time continuum” in relation to “everything else”. Oh one other thought i do remember having is that human “religion” (we talked in one my classes how difficult that word is to define) has very little to do with the actual god questions, i.e. what god is and what movement is and how god “works”, but not absolutely nothing to do with them. It’s our (humans’) very very very imprecise way of trying to address these questions.
And one other final thing. My first instinct was to spend hours thinking about how to best and most precisely communicate my understanding so that other people (and sober me) can understand it. I don’t understand why thats what I immediately jumped to doing and still feel the urge to do, when I could much more easily have decided that I was content with just understanding it myself and spending the rest of life knowing that I now have this special knowledge. I always thought i saw knowledge for the sake of knowledge as the ultimate pursuit but I guess I also have the drive to apply it somehow. I wonder if this is true for everyone on some level or not. Oh yes I also had been thinking about how difficult human language is to express what I’m trying to say because its not really equipped for it. like i just want to put quotations around every single word because words are just approximations for the ideas they are trying to express even when talking about ideas that our language is actually designed to describe, not even to mention trying to talk about stuff that it isnt. math concepts (even the few that I actually know anything about) are super super helpful to me in trying to think about and communicate these ideas and now I completely understand what people mean when they say that math is our best bet for being able to communicate with extraterrestrial intelligent life seeing as we have no way of knowing how other beings might perceive information. Wait a minute. Whos even to say that even if our definition of “life” didnt ever evolve anywhere else in the universe, there couldn’t be something else that wasn’t “alive” by this strict definition but not exactly “not alive” either. Like it didnt have “cells” exactly like earth organisms but it was somehow distinct from “not alive” things just like earth organisms are. Like the same way that viruses are neither alive nor not alive.
That article i had to read in cog sci about the “levels of understanding” (i.e. sociology is an abstraction of psychology is an abstraction of biology is an abstraction of chemistry is an abstraction of physics) is something that can fit into this understanding and probably led me to it too, seeing as I have thought about it a good deal since when i read it a few years ago. “...Is an abstraction of” is kinda like saying “is the derivate of”. Or is it like saying “is the integral of”, sorry I’m getting really tired.
Is “How” the integral of “what”, or the derivative?
Ok NOW i am going to actually sleep and instead of trying to think about this more i am going to be content with the fact that i now have all this knowledge.
Your neurons take a snapshot
Even if i am right about all this there isnt actually a point in conveying it and making it understood by other people. Even if it is an extraordinary feat to be able to understand all this it wont be seen as extraordinary (whatever that means) unless enough other people can understand it well enough to understand its significance, or someone who does understand it can make it relevant in some way to the rest of humanity and the functioning of society. I can wake up tomorrow and choose to say “lol i was so high and just rambling nonsense” and choose never to engage with these ideas again and go about my life like normal, or i can take on the burden of choosing to believe they are real, and then deciding whether i need to make them and their significance known (I dont even know if i know what their “significance” is, or if they have one). I dont know which one would overall be the better thing to do.

Being Alone, Andrew Bogut, and Bad: A friendly, playful, incredibly affectionate boy dreams of a new family to love him. QUIGGLph Id 51057, 4 Yrs., 65 lbs. Waiting w/hope, at the Brooklyn ACC **** THE SHELTER MADE ME A PRIORITY PLACEMENT THIS WEEK **** If I don't find a home this weekend, I will be in the front of the line on the TBK list !!! Intake Date – 12/22/2018 “I was abandoned because my dad had holiday travel plans!” Poor QUIGGLE is no stranger to a home of bars. His parent admitted that Quiggle spent 16 hours of every day crated, both at night when he slept and during the day when he was at work, for 3 long years. Before that, Quiggles had been at the ACC, in June of 2016, when his name was King George. He was a baby then, super friendly, social, affectionate and active, and he was also AVERAGE RATED! Little King George didn’t expect to have a life spent in cages, or a life spent under-socialized and with barely any contact with the outside world. After all 3 years spent with his dad, his dad decided to arrange some holiday travel this Christmas and dumped Quiggle at the shelter stating "I can't take him with me" and "he has behavior issues." We'd say his parent has behavior issues! How does an average rated puppy end up being a NH only puppy, protective of his parent who was his only world. It’s no surprise to any of us at MLD. Quiggle needed friends. He needed to continue to meet people and play with other dogs (in a former distant life he loved a small dog) but instead he had only his parent who seemed occupied with his life and spent little time with Quiggle. Now this highly affectionate, friendly, social and playful young man is short listed for the kill list, despite all these sterling qualities. Quiggle is STILL playful and bouncy with the girl dogs in playgroup, so a female companion may be lovely for him! So please, look at that adorable face – with his one Groucho Marx eyebrow and give this boy the life he always dreamed of when he was a puppy, the life he never had. He will need to go to an experienced adult only family (no kids under Age 13). Hurry and MESSAGE our page or email us at [email protected] for assistance fostering or adopting Quiggle. VIDEO FROM 2016 STAY AT THE ACC, WHEN QUIGGLES WAS NAMED KING GEORGE: https://youtu.be/tkc-uRLgpCk QUIGGLE (aka King George, id A1074117), ID# 51057, @ 4 Yrs. Old, 65 lbs. Brooklyn ACC, Large Mixed Breed (Bull Terrier) Gray / White, Neutered Male Owner Surrender Reason: Owner going away for holidays / behavior Shelter Assessment Rating: New Hope Rescue Only Medical Behavior Rating: OWNER SURRENDER NOTES – BASIC INFORMATION: Quiggle was surrendered into BACC due to his behavioral issues and also the owner was going away for the holidays and was unable to take Quiggle with them. Quiggles has previously lived with his 1 parent. Quiggle is aggressive towards strangers. He will bark, try to snap and lunge at strangers. It is unknown how he would behave around children. Owner stated he takes Quiggles to the dog park to play with the dogs but it depends on the type of dog and how Quiggle is feeling. Owner stated he tries not to have any bad accidents with another dog. Owner stated he has to be the dog in control when he plays. Quiggles has not been around cats so his behavior is unknown. Owner stated Quiggle do not resource his food or toys. They stated if you try to take his toy he will want to play tug of war with you. Quiggles is housetrained and has a high energy level. He has never had any medical issues. Bite history: Owner stated Quiggle has a behavioral issue. He tired two dog trainers and took him to the vet. He snapped at the owner's friend two months ago but did not break skin or scratch. Owner thinks this was due to Quiggles not knowing what was going on, and there were too many people in the house. He stated Quiggle also bit a dog while walking with the dog walker and broke skin but no stitches were required. The owner doesn't know much of the details surrounding what happen. He stated from what the dog walker told him, Quiggles got into an argument with another dog, and when they turned a corner he took it out on a different dog. For a New Family to Know: Quiggle is friendly, affectionate, playful dog with his owner. He loves affection and he likes to play tug of war. He also like to play fetch and chase with tennis balls. He likes to a guard his owner. He sleeps in a kennel about 16 hours a day, when the owner goes to work and to go to sleep at night. He eats dry food 3x a day. He is house trained. He does not like grooming. He goes to the bathroom on cement and dirt. He loves to brisk walk and run/jog for exercise. He pulls very hard on leashes. INTAKE BEHAVIOR – DATE OF INTAKE, 12/22/2018: Upon intake no handle was done with counselor. Owner put on a muzzle on Quiggle to avoid the dog trying to bite anyone. After the muzzle was put on, Quiggle began growling, barking and trying to lunge at anyone in the room who tried to come close to the owner. SHELTER ASSESSMENT - Date of assessment: 26-Dec-2018 Summary: Unable to SAFER due to behavior concerns: Quiggle has allowed minimal handling from his caretakers. Out of concern for his stress levels and his response to restraint, we feel Quiggle is not a great candidate for a handling assessment at this time. Please see his owner surrender profile for a full summary of his behavior in his previous home. PLAYGROUP NOTES – DOG TO DOG SUMMARIES: According to Quiggle's previous owner, Quiggle has spent time with one small dog that he was relaxed and playful with. His most recent owner reported that when Quiggle is at a dog park playing with dogs, he is selective with who he plays roughly with. When Quiggle was at the Care Center in 2016, he greets appropriately and wanders in the pen, occasionally sniffing the greeter dog. He is able to engage in bouncy, high energy play with males and females, but does attempt to mount them. He maintains loose and bouncy body language. The Behavior Department recommends that a thorough dog-dog interaction is done with any potential adopter's dogs to make sure the adopter's dog is tolerant of his high energy and mounting behavior. Playgroup 1 - 12/23: Quiggle briefly greets a novel female dog then anxiously paces the yard and paws at the gate ignoring her completely. Playgroup 2 - 12/26: Quiggle briefly greeted a novel female, but continued to display anxious behaviors. As the session progressed, his body did loosen and he offered the female a quick bounce. Quiggle remained neutral and explored the pens for the remainder of the session. INTAKE BEHAVIOR - Date of intake: 22-Dec-2018. Summary: growling, barking, lunging, no handling done. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR - Date of initial: 23-Dec-2018. Summary: tense, but allowed handling. ENERGY LEVEL: Quiggle has a high energy level and will need daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct his/her energy and enthusiasm. BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: NEW HOPE ONLY Recommendations: No children (under 13), Recommend no dog parks, Place with a New Hope partner. Recommendations comments: Due to all noted concerns displayed in a home environment, the behavior department recommends Quiggle be placed with a New Hope placement partner who is able to provide an experienced adult-only foster home. A period of decompression is recommended to allow Quiggle to acclimate comfortably to his new environment; force-free, reward based training only is advised when introducing Quiggle to new and unfamiliar situations. Consultation with a professional trainer/behaviorist is highly recommended for guidance to safely manage/modify any behavior Quiggle presents with outside of the care centers. No Dog Parks: Due to Quiggle's pickiness towards dog's we recommend no dog parks. Potential challenges: Multiple-bite history/risk of future aggression, On-leash reactivity/barrier frustration. Low threshold for arousal. Potential challenges comments: Social Hyper Arousal. Quiggle has displayed low threshold for arousal, rapidly escalating and quickly tipping over to aggression (owner reported dog biting friend when overwhelmed in house full of people & dog biting another dog after being upset with separate dog.) Immediate intervention and consultation with a qualified veterinary behaviorist/professional trainer is strongly recommended to aid in addressing this issue to prevent further behavioral concerns that may appear in the future if not treated right away. We recommend only force-free, reward based training when introducing or exposing Quiggle to new and unfamiliar situations. On Leash Reactivity/Barrier Frustration: At the care center Quiggle has been observed to react to other dogs and human passerby on leash, lunging towards them, barking and growling (reported by owner and seen at intake). Quiggle may need positive reinforcement, reward based training to teach him to look at you rather than other dogs and novel stimuli that may startle him. We recommend a front clip harness or head halter to help manage this behavior. Multiple-bite history: Quiggle reportedly bit owner's friend on hand but did not break skin and also bit another dog while on a walk with dog walker and broke skin. Please see owner profile. The owner was not in the room during the incident so she did not witness how it started but she ran into the room when she heard the growling; he immediately let go once she yelled his name. He had bitten and broke skin on Rex's left ear and above the eye. Housetrained:: Yes Energy level/descriptors:: Friendly, affectionate and playful with a medium activity level. Date of assessment:: 2/27/2018 Look:: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. Allows head to be held loosely in Assessor's cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity:: 1. Date of intake:: 2/18/2018 Date of initial:: 2/18/2018 Summary:: Fearful ENERGY LEVEL:: Max is reported to display a medium energy level in his previous home environment, in line with what has been observed in the care center. BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:: NEW HOPE ONLY Behavior Asilomar: TM – Treatable-Manageable Recommendations:: Recommend no dog parks,Place with a New Hope partner Recommendations comments:: New Hope Only: Based on Max's bite history in his previous home environment, the behavior department believes he would best be set up to succeed if placed with a rescue group who can further assess this behavior in a stable home environment. Potential challenges: : Multiple-bite history/risk of future aggression,On-leash reactivity/barrier frustration Potential challenges comments:: On leash reactivity/barrier frustration: At the care center Max has been observed to react to other dogs on leash, lunging towards them and barking. We cannot be sure if this reaction is due to excitement and frustration, though we recommend a front clip harness or head halter to help manage this behavior. He will need positive reinforcement, reward based training to teach him to look at you rather than other dogs. Multiple bite history/risk of future aggression: Max has a multiple-bite history solely with the other resident dog in his previous home. He appears to have escalated quickly to snapping and biting, so this is an established behavior that he offers when he feels threatened. Max needs careful behavior modification and management to prevent future bites. We recommend only force-free, reward-based training methods for Max as more aversive techniques are likely to increase fear and increase the risk of aggression MAX IS RESCUE ONLY…..TO SAVE THIS PUP YOU MUST FILL OUT APPLICATIONS WITH AT LEAST 3 NEW HOPE RESCUES. Andrew Bogut, Bad, and Children: Bullet SUPER SWEET, SOCIAL, PLAYFUL & WIGGLY. LOVES PEOPLE, KNOWS MANY COMMANDS, ADORES PLAYING FETCH. A GOOD, SWEET, BOY ld 46654,e 3 Yrs. 53 lbs., Brooklyn ACC TO BE KILLED - 11/27/2018 We don’t often go all out in bashing an owner, but in Bullet’s case we simply have too. This friendly, active, sweet boy who was so well mannered on intake, and who simply ACED his SAFER at the shelter, was dumped at the because of his owner’s complete ignorance of what triggers fear in canines. Bullet had to face down his owner’s friend came racing into his home, unannounced and screaming, while wildly swinging her arms at Bullet’s face over and over for no reason whatsoever. He didn't know what to make of it, or her, but she so completely overwhelmed and freaked him out that he nipped her. This is NOT aggression people, it’s called self-preservation. Bullet is now facing his death because of a crazy person and their ridiculous stupidity. We think the shelter thinks so too, because they went out of their way to post a set of “observations” on Bullet while he has been their guest, and this is what they wrote: “While in the care center, Bullet has allowed all handling, he exhibits a high energy level, he knows cues "Sit, paw, drop it", and enjoys playing fetch with balls. Bullet has been very social during his stay.” 😊 <3 Bullet has been given a bad rap. He has lived in a crazy house, where it seems things were chaotic and frenetic. What Bullet finally deserves is a calm, quiet, structured home with people who are kind and measured and who will provide him a nice routine he can count on – complete with a soft bed, toys, and all the love his heart can hold. Please don’t let their ignorance result in his death. Hurry and PRIVATE MESSAGE our page or email us at [email protected] for assistance fostering or adopting him. He is rescue only and must go to an experienced adult only home (no kids under age 13). You need to fill out applications with rescues to save his life . BULLET, ID 46654, @ 3 YRS. Old, 53.6 lbs. Brooklyn ACC, Medium Mixed Breed, Tan / White, Unaltered Male I came to the shelter as a Stray, 11/07/2018 Shelter Assessment Rating: New Hope Rescue Only Intake Behavior Rating: 3. AT RISK MEMO: Bullet has displayed a high level of energy, a low threshold Arousal, and other concerning behavior while in the care center. Bullet has a bite history as well and due to all of this factors, we are recommending placement with a rescue partner who is able to provide an experienced adult-only foster home. Bullet was also diagnosed with Canine Infection Respiratory Disease Complex and will likely require home rest and a series of antibiotics for up to 14 days. This is a contagious illness to other dogs. INTAKE NOTES – DATE OF INTAKE, 11/07/2018: Upon intake, Bullet was quiet but walked on the leash just fine. SURRENDER NOTES – BASIC INFORMATION: Bullet is an approx. 3 year old dog that was brought into BACC due to biting the owner's friends. Bullet appears to have no medical issues or injuries. Bite history:: Person ran into owner's home to greet owner's friend. Victim was screaming and started to swing her arms towards Bullet because he was barking at her. She kept waving her arms at Bullet and that is when Bullet bit into her right forearm and let go. MLD NOTE regarding Bite History – STUPIDEST person in the world. She scared the crap out of poor Bullet and her actions towards him were “aggressive.” *** IN SHELTER OBSERVATIONS: *** While in the care center, Bullet has allowed all handling, he exhibits a high energy level, he knows cues "Sit, paw, drop it", and enjoys playing fetch with balls. Bullet has been very social during his stay. 😊 <3 SHELTER ASSESSMENT – DATE OF ASSESSMENT: 11/26/2018 Look:: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor's hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity:: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft or squinty, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag:: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft 'popping' of the body, etc. Dog might jump on Assessor once play begins. Paw squeeze 1:: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Eyes are averted and ears are relaxed or back. Paw squeeze 2:: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Eyes are averted and ears are relaxed or back. Toy:: 2. Dog takes toy away, keeps a firm hold. His/her body is between you and the toy, and is loose and wiggly. No growling or stiffness. Summary:: Bullet allowed all handling for assessment. He displayed a high level of energy tipping into hyper arousal and low impulse control, biting the leash and jumping. Bullet showed no signs of escalation to aggression during assessment. INTAKE BEHAVIOR - Date of intake:: 11/7/2018. Summary:: quiet but walked on the leash just fine. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR - Date of initial:: 11/8/2018. Summary:: hyperactive ENERGY LEVEL:: High energy level: - We have no history on Bullet so we cannot be certain of his behavior in a home environment. However, he is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm. BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:: NEW HOPE ONLY Behavior Asilomar: TM - Treatable-Manageable Recommendations:: No children (under 13),Place with a New Hope partner Recommendations comments:: NEW HOPE PARTNER: Due to all noted concerns displayed in a home environment, the behavior department recommends Bullet be placed with a New Hope placement partner who is able to provide an experienced adult-only foster home. A period of decompression is recommended to allow Bullet to acclimate comfortably to his new environment; force-free, reward based training only is advised when introducing Bullet to new and unfamiliar situations. Consultation with a professional trainer/behaviorist is highly recommended for guidance to safely manage/modify any behavior Bullet presents with outside of the care centers. Potential challenges: : Basic manners/poor impulse control,Social hyperarousal,Multiple-bite history/risk of future aggression,Leash-biting,Strength/leash pulling Potential challenges comments:: BASIC MANNERS/POOR IMPULSE CONTROL: It is recommended that default behaviors such as "Leave it", "Sit/Stay", "Down" are reinforced to substitute any frustration and teach him to control his impulses instead of simply reacting; proper management is also advised. Force-free, reward based training only is recommended. Social Hyper Arousal:Bullet has displayed low threshold for arousal. Immediate intervention and consultation with a qualified veterinary behaviorist/professional trainer is strongly recommended to aid in addressing this issue to prevent further behavioral concerns that may appear in the future if not treated right away. We recommend only force-free, reward based training when introducing or exposing Bullet to new and unfamiliar situations. STRENGTH/LEASH PULLING: Bullet is a very large, strong dog with the capability to pull over an average adopter. His adopter must be prepared and able to handle a dog of this size and strength. It is recommended that he be walked on a front clip harness or head halter, which help diminish his strength through leverage, and that he be trained using positive reinforcement, reward based training to not pull on leash. Bite history: Due to Bullet's bite history, we recommend a home without young children. He has shown restraint in the care center and has not demonstrated any warnings of aggression. Andrew Bogut, Children, and Click: Manhattan Animal Care Center Good boy looking for a good home and only few hours to find it... ID #45114 HUMPTY DUMPTY TO BE KILLED 10/27/18 Humpty Dumpty had a wiggly body and waggy tail when he entered the shelter. He constantly jumped up on counselor licking and receiving pets. He pulled hard on leash but sat for a treat. What poor Humpty Dumpty didn't like was his legs being touched. We are sure there must be a reason this friendly boy don't want his legs touched. Was he abused or does he have something medical going on? Please lets get this handsome boy safe so he don't have to worry anymore about people poking and prodding him!! Hello, my name is Humpty Dumpty. My animal id is #45114. I am a male brown dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years old. I came into the shelter as a stray on 21-Oct-2018. Behavior History: Upon intake, Humpty Dumpty had a wiggly body and waggy tail. He constantly jumped up on counselor licking and receiving pets. He pulled hard on leash but sat for a treat. Date of Intake: 10/21/2018 Behavior Assessment Date of intake:: 10/21/2018 Spay/Neuter status:: No Means of surrender (length of time in previous home):: Stray Date of assessment:: 10/23/2018 Summary:: Humpty Dumpty approached the assessor with a soft body. He quickly became aroused and began mouthing and attempting to mount the assessor. For these reasons, combined with him previously growling during handling, an assessment could not be safely conducted. Summary (1):: 10/22: When introduced off leash to the female greeter dog, Humpty Dumpty follows and only attempts to mount. Due to handling concern, Humpty Dumpty has had limited off leash introduction to other dogs. Future introductions to dogs should be conducted at a slow pace after allowing a period of decompression. Date of intake:: 10/21/2018 Summary:: Loose body, jumping up for attention Date of initial:: 10/21/2018 Summary:: Initially friendly but began growling when legs were touched. ENERGY LEVEL:: We have no history on Humpty Dumpty so we cannot be certain of his behavior in a home environment. However, he is a young, enthusiastic dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm. BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:: NEW HOPE ONLY Behavior Asilomar: TM - Treatable-Manageable Recommendations:: No children (under 13),Place with a New Hope partner Recommendations comments:: No children: Due to the potential over arousal issues Humpty Dumpty has displayed, as well as his discomfort with certain forms of handling, we recommend an adult only home. Place with a New Hope partner: Due to the potential over arousal issues Humpty Dumpty has displayed, as well as his discomfort with certain forms of handling, the behavior department recommends Humpty Dumpty be placed with a New Hope placement partner who is able to provide an experienced adult-only foster home. A period of decompression is recommended to allow Humpty Dumpty to acclimate comfortably to his new environment; force-free, reward based training only is advised when introducing Humpty Dumpty to new and unfamiliar situations. Consultation with a professional trainer/behaviorist is highly recommended for guidance to safely manage/modify any behavior Humoty Dumpty presents with outside of the care centers. Potential challenges: : Mouthiness/poor bite inhibition,Handling/touch sensitivity,Low threshold for arousal Potential challenges comments:: Handling/touch sensitivity: Humpty Dumpty has growled at people when his legs were touched, during medical handling as well as when a volunteer attempted to put a harness on him. It is important to avoid touching Humpty Dumpty's paws at this time and to be cautious when touching him in other areas as we do not know where he may have other sensitivities. Positive reinforcement, reward based training should be used to pair touch with good things such as food rewards in order to teach Humpty Dumpty to be more comfortable with this. Mouthiness/poor bite inhibition: Humoty Dumpty has shown some mouthiness in the care center. Little pressure is applied, but this is a behavior that should be extinguished through training alternate behaviors and lack of reward (ex. walking away whenever Humpty Dumpty's teeth make contact with skin). Low threshold for arousal: Humpty Dumoty has displayed a low threshold for arousal, mouthing and mounting people. Positive reinforcement, force-free training should be used to teach Humpty Dumpty to remain calm when people and other exciting things are around. He should be reward with treats when calm. If he escalates to mounting or mouthing, people should immediately walk away from and separate themselves from Humpty Dumpty. My medical notes are... Children, Click, and Dogs: Family-friendly girl, energy levels are just right, wonderful spirit, sits on command.got perfect scores on behavior assessment. won over staff and volunteers, this warmhearted soul needs a second chance. cukiouS # 35567-3 YRS OLD PREVIOUS HOME PLAYING GENTLY WITH SMALL CHILDREN WITH LOVE MANHATTAN ACC ****TO BE KILLED 8/6/18**** Gorgeous brindle girl, played gently with small children <3 A volunteer writes: Brindle-icious babe alert!!! Curious is as curious does, and with her petite frame and boundless enthusiasm for toys and exploration, this family-friendly gal could easily be mistaken for a puppy. She loves to run and leap around the yard but is always soft, never pushy, and we're told she spent time in her previous home playing gently with small children, too. Her energy levels are just right for a fun first date, not too high but wonderfully spirited, and she's happy to sit on command, play tug-o-war and share her toys with anyone who cares to join in the game. Curious has lived with another larger dog and enjoys play dates with same-size male peers, though we're told she prefers not to socialize with other females or smaller dogs, and she's easy to handle on leash or off, walking sedately and minding her business as well. After rocking her behavior assessment (perfect scores!) and winning over staff and volunteers alike, she's now looking to expand her social circle to include everyone else in the world. A warmhearted soul with so much to give to the lucky family who welcomes her into their life, Curious can't wait to discover what lies beyond the Care Center's front door. Could it be...a forever home? VIDEO: CURIOUS AND CRONUT https://youtu.be/oF7qORoqW7A Curious: ID #35567 MANHATTAN ACC Estimated to be 3 yrs old, 54 lbs. According to the previous owner, Curious "barks and growls at small dogs and female dogs" and was reported to be "friendly with large male dogs". Curious has displayed social, playful behavior toward as select male helper dog. When greeting a second male helper dog, Curious initially appeared playful, then escalated to snapping and biting with little to no provocation. Due to owner history in addition to shelter observation, it is strongly advised that Curious be the only resident dog in a future home, and be kept out of dog park settings. Summary (1):: 7/24: When introduced off lash to the male greeter dog, Curious is bouncy and playful. Summary (2):: 7/25: Curious engages in bouncy play with a large male dog. Summary (3):: 7/26: Curious initially displays soft body language when greeting the large male helper dog, and offers bows to solicit play. When the helper dog engages, Curious begins to vocalize and immediately escalates to snapping and biting at he other dog. Curious continues to follow and pursue the helper dog until removed by a handler. Date of intake:: 7/23/2018 Summary:: Loose body, allowed handling ENERGY LEVEL:: Curious is described as having a medium level of activity. IN SHELTER OBSERVATIONS:: Curious remains calm when in her kennel in the shelter environment and social with handlers outside of her kennel. She is playful and actively seeks/solicits attention; she has displayed no handling concerns. BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:: EXPERIENCE (suitable for an adopter with some previous dog experience, especially with the behaviors outlined below) Behavior Asilomar: TM - Treatable-Manageable Recommendations:: Single-pet home,Recommend no dog parks Recommendations comments:: Single pet home/no dog parks: Based on the concerning level of escalation toward dogs reported by the former owner and observed in-shelter, Curious would succeed best as the only resident dog. Potential challenges: : House soiling,On-leash reactivity/barrier frustration Potential challenges comments:: House soiling: Curious is noted to have accidents in the house, and will likely need guidance with house training. We recommend positive reinforcement, reward-based training only. On-leash reactivity/barrier frustration: Curious is reported to bark and growl at small dogs and at large female dogs. Curious may need positive reinforcement, reward based training to teach her to look at you rather than other dogs. We recommend a front clip harness or head halter to help manage this behavior.
