1. What’s your favorite part of official canon?

//...You mean besides the in-game dialogue? I just like any time I get to learn more about the history of Gensokyo or how Gensokyo works in general. Magic and touhou science is a topic I'm a big fan of.

//This one here is my absolute favorite. I can't quite put it into words but...I love it so much as a theme for Reimu. Its my ringtone, too.

7. Do you like any of the official literature? Which one(s)?

//To be honest, I've only really read Forbidden Scrollery...Which I ADORE as anyone can imagine. Enough to run through it several times for icons. I do plan to read others but I have a lot of manga on my plate lol

10. What’s one of your favorite song arrangements?

//This one is kinda tough to answer. I'm a bit of a boomer when it comes to touhou fan music. But I'll go with this one

A ship I have with said character:

MamiNue. It’s a good ship. I will not elaborate on why. You have my words on it: it’s a good ship... It’s good for the soul

A BROTP I have with said character:

MMMMMMMMMMMMMH................. I can’t think of any aside from MamiByak, MamiKourin, MamiMurasa, and legendary MamiReimu (which is more of a “OTPester”, where the goal is that Mami pesters reimu every time)

A NOTP I have with said character:

Aside from obviously MamiSuzu, i’d say MamiRan is up there. It’s a good crackship with nice aesthetics but im kinda upset it gets more traction than MamiNue somehow because Tanuki/Kitsune is easier i guess (which doesn’t make sense to me bc 1. Mamzo hates kitsune 2. Ran is barely a kitsune at this point). I don’t mind a few art here and there but as i say since MamiNue is the best otp for me it’s kinda upsetting me in a personal way but i have no offense at all lol

A random headcanon:

Since she is a tanookey, Mamizou has no restrictions on what kind of clothing she can wear. So she get very stylish! She bears a huge amount of attention to style and fashion, esp since it’s been a long way and the way humans dressed in the 1800s is completely different than the way they dress nowadays. She really thinks modern fashion is better but absolutely likes older styles too.

She holds a shop in some shady street corner of a city like Kyoto. All the products are renowned Grand Couturier Brands clothes but actually they’re just a bunch of counterfeits. They’re very well made though and not even an expert could make the difference. She sells them at a friendly yet kind of stingy price, and if you’re kind of rude to her she just makes sure to send one of her Dudes to turn the clothes back into leaves one week later.

Very elaborate headcanon for something i just made on the spot.

General Opinion over said character:

i’m too tired and dumb to say anything coherent, Mamizou is the first new extra boss i ever got to SEE in my life!!! The night before TD’s full release I literally predicted that there would be a tanuki among the newer characters and when i woke up a friend told me PLEASE GO CHECK OUT WHO THE EXTRA BOSS IS and i COULDNT FUCKING BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!!

Mamizou’s growing role in the grand scheme of gensokyos is truly a sight to behold. Seeing her having such a major presence in Forbidden Scrollery was THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO MY TOUHOU FAN LIFE. i LOVE HER I love how she has ties to the human world, to folklore, to people of gensokyo and outside, i love how she has a very slick design with a lot of outfits, i love all the fan content made around her, i love reading the cute doujins where she hangs around the outside world with sumireko, i love that one cosplayer on twitter who is basically Mamizou IRL i love mamizou i love her i love tanuki id gladly gift her a cheese pizza and pay 500000 dollars for her

Favorite character: the obvious answer is izutsumi, but I also really like chilchack, kabru, and misurn. just like,,, not as much as izutsumi lol

Least Favorite character: there aren’t really any characters I absolutely hate, but if I really had to pick, I’d probably say mr. tance. he’s just super crotchety and doesn’t really respect namari and the rest of his retainers much at all. also toshiro/sureau and most of his party come off as pretty unlikable.

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): izutsumi/marcille, farlyn/marcille, laius/kabru, I think there might be something in kabru/misurn and marcille/misurn too but I haven’t really thought about it further.

Character I find most attractive: basically all of the canaries are pretty hot. I think I unironically have marcille’s sense of taste lol. it’s not really the same thing, but izutsumi is another one of those characters that’s attractive in a way that I’d want to project onto them in a story or whatever

Character I would marry: marcille or farlyn probably, maybe kabru if he transitioned

Character I would be best friends with: honestly most of the cast. chilchack seems like he’d be fun to go drinking with, and the thorden siblings seem like people I’d run into in a d&d group or online game lobby and immediately get sucked into their social circle forever

a random thought: I put all the touhou shit in my fanfic kind of as a joke originally, but after reading forbidden scrollery I feel like there’s actually a good bit of thematic overlap about like, the border between the human and the monstrous and symbiotic relationships between the two and stuff. also reimu would make a great canary.

An unpopular opinion: I think my “every elf is genderqueer” headcanon post is unpopular with straight fans lol, but outside of that corner of the fandom I guess maybe “senshi and farlyn are both kinda boring as-is and need more development” would do as a more generally unpopular opinion

my canon OTP: again, idk what the threshold for canonicity is, but marcille/farlyn is basically a reading comprehension exercise so I’m gonna go with that

Non-canon OTP: desperately hoping izutsumi/marcille graduates to canon at some point

most badass character: hard to say, there’s so many characters that are just super cool. misurn telefragging people owns, kabru’s party kicks ass when they actually get to fight stuff and don’t get instantly tpk’d, marcille is pretty badass during the resurrection scene and when she kills the griffon basically single-handedly, izutsumi taking on all the succubi by herself was awesome... I could go on. basically every character has gotten a couple scenes where they really get to shine and I love it.

pairing I am not a fan of: laius/marcille. arguably laius’ succubus implies that he’s into her, but I really just don’t see anything deeper than that tbh. not that they aren’t friends obviously, it just feels really forced to interpret that as romantic.

character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): there hasn’t been anyone yet where like, their characterization just veers off in a stupid direction or anything, but like I mentioned already, I feel like senshi kinda ran out of stuff to do around when they got to the water level with the exception of the griffon arc, and farlyn still needs more characterization imo

favourite friendship: just generally laius’ party seem to get along really well and I love the dynamic they have

character I want to adopt or be adopted by: I think basically everyone except chilchack is about my age (or equivalent) give or take maybe 5 years so it’s hard to say. maybe the thorden siblings as kids? a lot of laius’ flashbacks about how they grew up seems pretty dismal, especially how farlyn was shunned and stuff

I just found this blog, anyway just some comments/questions from me. 1. Why no search box? 2. You seems to have difficulty with AOCF (especially since you mentioned easy mode). Do you know that you can destroy bullet by dashing/flying/jumping through them (aka. the "graze" mechanics, though unlike the main game here you are running AT the bullets)? This makes the game really easy even on Override difficulty. 3. Do you plan to write anymore Kosuzu's fic, with or without shipping?

1) The theme didn’t come with a search box, so there’s no search box! lol I’ve been meaning to change the theme for about 4 years now but I’m too lazy. I figured most people would just use the tags, but I suppose some of the tags have a lot of posts... a search box might dig up some embarrassing old posts from several years ago too. Hmm... I’ll think about it.

2) Yes, this is how I beat Shion in the end, actually! I grazed a ton, then spellcard, grazed some more, another spellcard etc. But thanks for the advice anyway! I’m not that great at the fighting games so I usually play on easy mode to read the story, then occasionally do VS mode and... that’s about it. The fighters can be great fun and I really enjoy seeing all the characters interacting, but I prefer playing the main games overall.

3) Definitely! Kosuzu is Not Safe. I have a nice list of Forbidden Scrollery bad ends tucked away somewhere and some of them are too sinful for me to write... for now *omnious music*

Mannnnnnn I don’t think i have any with her!!! She’s just a bad kappa who goes around yelling at people and making sure they buy her technologies. I think Marisa is the furthest i’m willing to go of a ship!

(I do remember you ship Nitori and Eirin, right? That’s such a STRETCH but i approve of it it’s so funny)

A BROTP I have with said character:

As i said: Momiji!! They’re fun together. THOUGH I DO LIKE Nitori & Mamizou. The forbidden scrollery chapter where Mamizou goes around in “kappa disguise” is so funny. I like to think of Nitori infodumping about Gensokyo Kappa culture and Mamizou just takes note and actually think Nitori is interesting. Though she’s ready to whoop her ass any time (as anyone is willing to)

A NOTP I have with said character:

Nitori/Hina feels very crack to me LOL it’s like “hey they’re stage 2/3.... maybe we can ship them” and i jus’t. i really can’t ship them.

A random headcanon:

Scales Nitori BEST Nitori.

I like to think of Nitori as being really good at infodumping. Like she doesn’t stray away from her subject and always make it coherent and cohesive for the listener and it’s always nice to listen to her infodumping about mechanics and stuff but in the end she’s still going to say something Not Good like “you owe me 300 dollars for listening to me” and you have to bonk her noggin...... sadly

General Opinion over said character:

I REMEMBER THE WEIRD CRISIS EVERYONE HAD WHEN SHE FIRST APPEARED IN HM/ULIL/AOCF AND IT WAS REVEALED SHE WAS A HUGE FUCKING ASSHOLE instead of the “Shy Timid Kappa Girl ;_;” image she had in MoF (which was caused by her basically FLEEING REIMU/MARISA, YOU KNOW, THE CRIMSON SLASHER/BLACK & WHITE LAZER BEAM”). It was so funny. Even though you could read between the lines she was an asshole, people refused.

But i saw and i ACCEPT my sweet little kappatalist gremlin. She’s so funny. I really like how ZUN made the Kappa technology oriented. They’re very good. Nitori has a good design and i always love seeing cosplays of her
