the funniest thing of running a pokemon fanart archive, and the beauty of pokemon as a franchise i think, is seeing how people fixate on THE most uncommon things. like yeah of course there's people drawing lucario and mewtwo over and over. but there's also that guy that REALLY loves xatu, and the one that thinks about yellow from pokespe every single day, and the one that's made an alternate (better btw) mythos around reshiram and zekrom. and this dude wants to see this random npc's titties so bad that he draws her over and over again!! has done so for the last 8 years!! do you remember pokemon dash for the nintendo ds? do you maybe wish every day to finally forget it ever existed? that's SO sad to guy-whose-favorite-game-ever-is-pokemon-dash. ANY guy that you could think of EVER exists in the pokemon fandom i swear

TÁNDEM VILLAGE

"The village where I was found by Shīdo in the outskirts. Tándem is a medium sized village surrounded by a mountain system and a river of sorts where Pokemon of various types and looks of all ways can be found either working, relaxing or even traveling there for trading with the shops and other smaller business that might be found there by tunnels that connect to the east and to the west. It seems like a busy place to visit. North of the place the adventurers guild can be located, resting in an immense wood catwalk, like if the village was split in two. It doesn't have any fences though, what if someone falls and hurts themselves or even die from the fall? That's a poor design choice in my opinion, so I'll have to send a suggestion to whoever built this catwalk to include them.

Before applying to the guild with Shīdo, I was able to spot at least some landmarks. I somehow even took the time to sketch the place from the outskirts before night... Ugh, it was SO difficult to draw the village only being able to grab a paintbrush with only a thumb, but I think it turned out pretty well. Some landmarks I was able to get via sounds or by observing the life in the village were:

- Bank Gholdengo

- Ironworks Tinkaton (I see that Pawniard, Kuro; entering there once or twice a day but I don't really care that much about it)

- Adventurer's Guild

- Xatu's Post office

For now... Well, me and Shīdo have our base there now, just by the east of the place. I have to sleep on a bunch of sticks and leaves, but it has to do as long as I'm trapped here. I already miss my home."

What gyms are in Indiana? Like I said in my last ask, I'm in south western Indiana, but I'd love to know what covers my state as far as gym challenges go. Thank you!

There's 25 gyms overall in Indiana, but the state Pokemon league consists of the eight largest and most important.

1. Lafayette flying-type gym

Run in part by Purdue University, this is the recommended gym for trainers beginning their journey in Indiana, and its gym leader utilizes a tough but friendly Minior.

2. Vincennes grass-type gym

While Vincennes is a smaller town, its long history makes it a perfect candidate for a grass-type gym that doubles as a museum. Once you reach the end, you can battle against the gym leader, an old academic who uses a Gogoat.

3. Bloomington psychic-type gym

Staffed primarily by college students, this psychic gym possesses a wide variety of global Pokemon species, from Xatu to Wobbuffet to Solrock. A new gym leader is decided every month by drawing potential candidates from a hat.

4. Evansville ground-type gym

In a nondescript building overlooking the Ohio River, this "boring" gym is one of the toughest in the state, knocking out the most challengers of any gym. Its gym leader uses a Donphan that can knock down a building with its Rollout.

5. Fort Wayne fighting-type gym

Fighting-type specialists from across the Midwest come here to train, because Fort Wayne's gym is the third-largest by area of any in the country. Its mazelike layout includes basketball courts, indoor football fields, and a dojo. At the end, you'll face the leader's Hariyama, who she's trained since a Makuhita.

6. South Bend steel-type gym

Though South Bend isn't much of an industrial town anymore, its gym - in a repurposed factory - serves as a reminder of the city's history. Klink and Magnemite fill the interior, but that leader waits deep inside with a powerful Metagross.

7. Hammond poison-type gym

Because of this gym's proximity to Chicago, it's always buzzing with activity. It relies on an unusual format, with challengers battling other challengers to see who comes out on top and can go on to face the leader's Nidoking.

8. Indianapolis dark-type gym

The crown jewel of the Indiana Pokemon League is the Indianapolis gym, located inside a replica Victorian mansion. Challengers navigate by flashlight, hoping to reach the basement in which the leader and his Honchkrow await.

Like I can not be normal about rts/db: ?????/resonatingradiance because Kris contacts Gold after they both thought they’d never see each other again but the rerelease of Crystal meant Kris could “live on” in some way when they both thought that wasn’t going to happen. They thought they wouldn’t be Gold and Kris anymore. And for Gold that was true because he tempted fate and had no choice but to stay and Kris she had no choice but to wait. But she could contact him with Xatu because it looks back into the past and the future. It does both.

But right after the suicune arc as I’ll put it shortly bc I forgot what I called it lmao is when Gold figures out he’s a system and that with losing his best friend for the second time even temporarily it was enough stress to split Jodi and Jodi barely knows how to function yet. But she was just triggered to front into thinking maybe I could get a name (because her name isn’t jodi yet I’m just doing ooc stuff) but am I safe enough yet because I don’t want to suffer anymore pain like what caused me to form even though I only subconsciously know it. You want to know what triggered her you want to know

so, more about the flying type gym.

so, i'm going to start by talking about the flying type gym!

theme color wise, i'm going to say blue, maybe? or honestly maybe even the fukurodani colors? i haven't thought much about theme colors for any of them (except for alisa) so whatever you think would look the best would be fine by me!

in my mind, i feel like tenma dresses pretty much the same way he did when we saw him in canon though. like, doesn't necessarily dress the way you would expect a gym leader to, lol.

akaashi and akiteru both do though!!

i know this isn't necessarily what you were asking about but i decided to take this moment to complete their teams as well! disclaimer that i'm not really an expert by any means on team building stats-wise but i did my best hehe.

tenma: braviary, gliscor, skarmory, oricorio (baile style), sigilyph

akaashi: noctowl, xatu, dartrix, swoobat, ducklett

akiteru: staravia, kilowattrel, archeops, tropius, mantine

as for design elements for other characters... i'll just make a bulleted list of some of my other ideas :3

i like the idea of alisa being a normal-type gym leader who dresses in pinks and purples. people often think she's a fairy-type gym leader when they first meet her. (the aesthetic of the actual gym is a little different because she's recently taken over after nekomata retired)

the theme color for saeko's gym is the karasuno colors! and i imagine her outfit is similar to what she wore at nationals?

i like the idea of suga having earrings inspired by his starmie! but that's really about it, i don't have any other ideas for what he wears.

ushijima (the champion) wears a cape inspired by his garchomp!! there's a notch in it similar to the notch in garchomp's fin (thank u ash who had this idea). color-wise, blues and purples i think?

and that's about it... really though the design aspects don't have to completely match what i'm envisioning, i'm just happy that you're thinking about drawing something for my au in general!!

Oh, Arceus, here he goes again—

The groan is inevitable, as loud as he can be, not even needing to know where, exactly, this poor excuse of a joke is going— he just knows it’s going to be bad, Roark just loves those, doesn’t he? Does his repertoire never end?

“Don’t.”

And yet, there it is. Of course. Of course he was going there. Of all the punchlines.

Least Lux gets to it faster than Volkner himself does, the poor feline having to hear one too many things for his own liking, it seems, if the refusal to evel let him finish speaking is anything to go by. Volkner trained him well, didn’t he? Not that that’s enough punishment for him, choosing instead to assault his idiot with the nearest pillow within reach and pelting him with it. That’s what he’s earned, right?

“Was it worth it??” As if Roark would ever say no. This is really what he picked as the love of his life— and unfortunately, being subjected to this is still not anywhere near enough to make Volkner think otherwise.

Well, another thing... I wonder what do you think of Pokémon... I suddenly got onto Pokémon mode again... but I don't know...

Two random old guys??

I did draw a Pokémon picture a while back, but I don't really like that one anymore. So here's another go at matching the Sword and Shield artstyle.

I still think Stan should have a gengar (ghostly trixter) and Ford should have a clefable (fairy rumoured to have come from space), due to the very old fan theory that gengar is the shadow of clefable - Stan being Ford's "shadow".

I think Stan also has a meowth due to their connection with money (maybe it's like an alley cat he found during his drifter years) and maybe a ditto (shapeshifter) and abra/cadabra/alakazam (teleporter) due to the heist and/or scamming potential of both. For added sadness, maybe the last two on his team could be a banette (a pokemon that grows from the resentment and sadness of a doll abandoned by it's owner) and a mimikyu (a pokemon who wears a pikachu disguise at all times because nobody wants it in it's actual form).

Ford has a grimer that appeared in his lab one day and started eating toxic waste, so he decided it could stay for cleanup purpouses. He has a pikachu to run electronics in an emergency, a xatu (inspiration from native American and mesoamerican legends + supposedly able to tell the future), and a metagross (robotic supercomputer that hits like a semitruck). After his ordeal with Bill, he went out and caught a munna - a pokemon known for it's ability to rid people of nightmares by eating bad dreams.

I have a lot of thoughts about this.

Chilled! Alwin AU

So, I know this is random and I haven’t actually done much explaining on my own world of Pokémon, but I randomly drew this last night and wanted to share it.

This basically started as a small idea, until I drew it and became a practice on shading, but looked cool and made me think deeper into the story.

Also, I will have a post just for explaining what my characters or Champions are, so yeah. But right now, AU time.

TRIGGER WARNING (blood, death, gore, mental illness)

Just a basic brief on Alwin: Name: Alwin Walsh Gender: Male Age: 16 (became Champ at 15) Height: 5″5 Sexuality: Gay (is dating Hop) Team: - Ren (Inteleon) - Male - Veda (Xatu) - Female - North (Frosslass) - Female - Ryu (Flygon) - Male - Excalibur (Aegislash) - Male - Echo (Noivern) - Female

So basically, this takes place just over a year after Alwin became Champion, and meeting the other Champions of each region (it’s an event I have but is explained in a Wattpad Chatfic story that I am currently writing. Fight me.). The events are basically the same as the regular “timeline” but this AU is a possible branch off of the same event.

Main Timeline

Alwin has been suffering from depression for a while, present before the Gym Challenge, but only progressively got worse. Sure, Hop also has depression, but his is only mild, so Alwin didn’t feel like anyone understood, not even his own Pokémon.

A day when he’s alone, he feels compelled to be alone, to let his own thoughts roam, in an attempt to try and rid them for the better. In this state of though, he thought that it would be better to head to the Tundra without his Pokémon. Yes, he was smart enough to check the weather to make sure he didn’t freeze, but went on his way, without his phone, bag and Pokémon. What he didn’t anticipate however, was that Hop was supposed to be visiting 15 minutes later.

Arriving in Freezington, he made his way out to the Snowslide Slope. Pokémon avoided him throughout the Frostpoint Field and Giant’s Bed, any aggressive ones stopped by others, noticing the troubled boy. Upon reaching the Snowslide Slope, he headed up, passing Pokémon and keeping to himself.

But he still stops, stops to watch a battle between a Beartic and a Druddigon. He stood far enough away from the original starting ground of the battle. He watched mesmerised, stuck in place. He wasn’t aware of the Beartic being pushed back towards him, until it was too late to realise. When the Beartic was too close, it dodged a clawed attack from the Druddigon, which hit Alwin instead.

The wounds were deep and across his chest, but landing in the snow had his body temperature drop quicker than what it should have. The battle between the Beartic and Druddigon stopped, realising what they had done. Pokemon from around the area stopped, seeing what had been done.

Of course, since Alwin wasn’t where he was supposed to be, Hop goes out to the Tundra, having found Alwin’s phone still on the weather check. He does let the League know, so they set off to the Tundra as well to help.

This is where it splits off.

In the regular timeline, Alwin is found by Hop and Peony, close to death and freezing. Of course, when the others find them, they bring Alwin back to Galar, back to a hospital. Alwin is nursed back to health, but still remains on the road to recovery in the mental area. There isn’t much story after that, but I’m getting there.

Anyway! Onto the AU-

In this AU, they don’t find Alwin in time. Instead, Alwin dies in the Tundra, bleeding, cold, and surrounded by Pokémon. But, he doesn’t move on. His pain, his agony, is what forced him to come back as the creature that he is; some form of ghost. Neither human, a Pokemon, or alive, he becomes an embodiment of agony and regret, rising from his body, now buried in red snow and wandering the mountain.

But not for long.

Hop and Peony are quickly accompanied by Leon and the League to search, and so they start the search. Along the Snowslide Slope, they search, and with Alwin’s Pokémon in Hop’s care, Hop decides to send Echo (the Noivern) ahead to seek out anything odd. This however backfires, Echo rushing back and trying to get the search party away from the slope. As she tries to drag Hop away, she flees after seeing something else behind Hop. But when Hop turns and stumbles back to get away.

Alwin, too dead to be true.

They aren’t sure what to do, but they’re all terrified. It wasn’t what they wanted, and it wasn’t what they wanted to find. Of course, they flee, unable to find anything to do. They expected him to stay there, up on the Snowslide Slope, within the Tundra.

But they were wrong.

Alwin would appear to them, bringing a chill to the air. He’d speak, but he’d sound lost, asking why they were afraid. Hop was the only one that gave him a clear answer; the one that would treat Alwin as if he was still alive.

Alwin wasn’t a threat, and Hop could see that, and so he pushed the others to remind them that Alwin was their friend. And so speculation began.

They wandered if they could bring Alwin back; if they could free his soul. But could they?

Hop believed there could be a way to bring Alwin back, but he did this in secret, with Alwin as the only other that would know.

They travel to Kalos, seeking out their friend, Madelyn, Kalos’s detective and fellow Champion. Hop’s first thought was the legendary Xerneas, a member of the Aura Trio. He knew Madelyn had connections with them, so she was their first go-to. Despite this thought, the Pokémon of Life could not do anything. Madelyn then continued researching for the two, having her fair share of ghost encounters herself. She searched through books and asked any Ghost Gym Leaders on what they knew about people turning into ghost ( Allister was excluded from this of course), but nothing can out of it. She did everything in her power to find a way to either free Alwin or bring him back, but to also keep this secret.

Hop heads back, the spirit of his friend following. Alwin’s death is revealed to Galar, and the rest of the world, a month after the event. During this time, Hop, Leon and Raihan go back to the Snowslide Slope to find his body, only to find its resting place; where frozen flowers lay over red snow.

And that’s basically the AU.

Extras nows.

These here are the drawings. I am proud of the first. But the blood splaters on the second looks a bit off, but it still works.

So, Alwin died in the Tundra, where his body was buried in the snow by the Pokémon that witnessed his death. This happened shortly after his death, which was why his body wasn’t found by the search party. The Pokémon payed their respects, placing flowers over the grave, which froze over, preserving them.

Alwin’s presence is known through a cold chill that breezes through. This is what scared the League members, as they’d have their backs turned, before feeling the chill. They’d then go check if a window or door was open, only to turn around to see Alwin. These chills can be as weak as small breezes, but can become as strong as blizzards that only last for less than a minute.

Hop released any Pokémon that Alwin caught, only keeping his main 6, Eternatus and Zamazenta. However, North (the Frosslass) went off, going to the mountain where Alwin rested. She did this to watch over the ghost he continued on as.

In this state, Alwin is able to communicate with Pokémon, understanding them perfectly.

In order for Alwin to travel, he would need to attack himself to an object that was “Galarian”. This is why he was able to leave the Tundra, as he attached himself to an object, which allowed him to go to League members without notice. This is also how he traveled to Kalos with Hop, as he attached himself to a Galarica Cuff that Hop had around his wrist. He is also able to travel to see the other Champions this way, as they all received a Galarica Cuff as a send-off gift.

He rarely ever appears to others. He will only appear to those that he once knew, such as Hop, the League and international friends. Sometimes a child may catch a glimpse of him, which terrifies them, and sometimes an adult will too, but it’s always thought to be a trick of the wind.

It you were to capture him on camera or in a video, he’d only appear as a wisp of frozen cloud or mist.

I believe that is all. Feel free to critique or ask anything about this. This was a little AU I came up with in less than 2 days, but I so dearly love it.

Lycanroc (midnight)- pretty self explanatory, I picked Lycanroc for jack in the other Pokémon AU so it made sense for Jack to have a Lycanroc in this AU.

✨Special Ability✨- Vital Spirit: “The Pokémon is full of vitality, and that prevents it from falling asleep.”

(He’d definitely stay awake with Jack a lot)

Gengar- You can’t blame me for putting at LEAST one ghost type Pokémon on Jacks team. Gengar seemed like a good fit, astrong ghost type that’s big on playing pranks. Gengar would definitely contribute to some of the weirdness in the gas station, liking to prank customers.

✨Special Ability✨- Cursed Body: “May disable a move used on the Pokémon”

Grimer- Chose Grimer more based on the Gas Station environment. Jack definitely finds the grimer when trying to get rid of one of the many smells of the gas station. Grimer is a contributor to these smells but jack doesn’t notice anymore. Grimer will eat trash and other odd substances around the gas station and has probably eaten a raccoon or two. Jack doesn’t stop em.

✨Special Ability✨- Stench: “By releasing stench when attacking, this Pokémon may cause the target to flinch.”

Abra- Ironic choice because Abra is always asleep, but I felt it fit. Abra is constantly using its psychic powers, even while it’s asleep, which parallels what Jack at the end on volume 3 (no spoilers) Also Abra is known to teleport in its sleep. When Jack ended up outside digging, Abra was definitely there floating next to him.

✨Special Ability✨- Synchronize: “The attacker will receive the same status condition if it inflicts a burn, poison, or paralysis to the Pokémon.”
