I am so so nervous for the adaption of evelyn hugo. at least it won't be made by freeform anymore (thank god, seriously i was so sad when i thought it was going to be made by freeform). fingers crossed for hbo!!! netflix, prime or hulu would be fine i guess but i don't fully trust netflix. what do you hope to see in the adaption? are you also nervous they won't do the book justice?

ok yes so glad that it isn't going to be freeform any longer as well haha.

what i hope to see honestly is that they do a good job capturing intimacy and vulnerability. i know that there are l word people attached to it (is that still true?) which made people excited for potential sexually-charged scenes. which is great because i'm all about highlighting women being liberal with sexuality and art—but i want the adaptation to capture the essence of evelyn and celia's story; to capture them as individual characters.

i am always nervous about adaptations as most people are, but since TJR is working on it as well, i think we can breathe a little easier. this project doesn't seem to have moved since its initial announcement though, other than freeform being dropped supposedly. so hopefully another network or platform picks it up.
