Anne, I was checking out the Glassdoor reviews for Fusebox and someone posted a 4 star review that kinda sounds like management is trying to rehab their image, a quote, "The company is rebranding and changing course and that is upsetting some who want things to be as they used to be. I think they need to understand that game companies need to make money if they want a job. So…I wouldn’t listen to all this people complaining." like deffo trying to cover up, badly, but trying.
Yeah I've seen that one, and my take on it was v much 'this is either a new-er employee that wants to kiss up to management or an executive trying to rehab the reviews'.
The language of it sounded like the second option, because what employee would try to argue that the game is "old and people are bored". In my experience, employees don't try to defend the product in glass door reviews, they just talk about the working conditions/perks. Obviously I can't speculate, but like... sus for sure.
That 'old and boring' comment has been nagging at me, so let me put on a tin foil hat for a sec. Ever since they delayed S4, I've been wondering /why/. Like there's nothing for Fusebox to lose by releasing S4, because they already have the assets/most of the writing done. If anything, they might make a neat profit with the new Love Island show coming out and cross promotion with that.
But I think this review solved that question for me. Because the game isn't old/tired- it have a fanbase chomping at the bit for more content. It stands on its own merits to draw in new players. But if the narrative pushing Matchmaker is 'the old game doesn't work', then S4 making money is contrary to that.
This is all PURELY speculation, but what if Fusebox is tactically delaying S4 until after the hype for the new tv series has died down, so they can release it unceremoniously then argue 'well it didn't perform well so our business move was smart'. Kind of like what Disney did with Treasure Planet- shoot your own project in the foot so that you can justify a change of direction.
That would fit the narrative of the review that the old game doesn't work and everyone who got fired were just bitter about the new direction, instead of the truth that this was a corporate decision and that they mistreated their staff in the process.

ST: TNG S5 Watchthrough Episodes 18-21
Cause and Effect: Who’s ready for the ST equivalent of Groundhog Day? Yep, we have a time loop episode. This is actually my mom’s favorite episode so I’ve been waiting for this one XD.So the episode opens with the Enterprise blown up… and after the titles we have a poker game as though nothing happened. But Crusher begins to have deja vu and as the loops continue, so do the others. So... If you’ve seen time loop stories you more or less know how this goes. Though unlike most of the oens I’ve seen where just one person becomes aware of it, while Crusheris the first the others also begin to take notice. The don’t remember everything, but they start picking up on it and figuring out that something’s up. Again, I appreciate the cast being written as competent and not stupid cause it’s very easy to do with this kind of plot. Not sure I at all understand Data’s explanation on how he figured out how to end the loop... but hey, it ended. So it was good. Nothing mind-blowing but very much enjoyable. Any time that Crusher gets prominent screentime I’m happy, but again I just appreciate the cast being intelligent. Also the Kelsey Grammer cameo at the end, Hell yes~! 3.5/5.
The First Duty: Okay Wesley, second guest star appearance. Let’s see how it goes. Which, haha... it’s not a happy episode for him. There’s been an accident at the Academy and while thankfully Wesley is alright aside from an injured arm, one of his classmates has died. Well… that’s sad. That n and of itself could fuel a story all its own. But as a hearing is held, it becomes clear that something more is going on. As it turns out, Wesley’s teammate died because the entire squadron not only performed an illegal flight procedure… but lied about it. First that it was an accident, then that the accident and his own demise was his own fault. Why? To save their own skins. Now to be fair it’s clear that they’re scared, but it doesn’t change the fact that they’re essentially lying/disgracing a dead person to save themselves. Even the kid’s own father gets convinced of this, which only adds to Wesley’s guilt. I actually felt really bad for Wesley and I kinda feel like Picard, upon confronting him, was… pretty harsh. Wesley’s actions were wrong, but again he was clearly scared and felt guilty for it. Thankfully he does ultimately do the right thing, accepting the consequences. Hopefully, Wesley can push through it and grow from it if he shows up again. My mom doesn’t like this episode I guess because of how it portrayed Wesley, but honestly? I like it for that exact reason. Welsey isn’t portrayed necessarily as bad, he’s reacting like… well… a scared nineteen-year-old. He made a major mistake, and he paid the price for it, though it certainly wasn’t the worst punishment that he could have received. While Picard was rather harsh when confronting him, it was the push that Wesley needed to do the right thing. I think that this was the kind of episode that Wesley needed, where he commits a huge screw-up and unlike when he was a regular, pays the consequences for it… it’s just a shame that they did it after he stopped being a regular. I can see why some may dislike this one because of Wesley’s portrayal, but I think it was good and was long overdue for the character without villainizing him. He’s intelligent and capable of greatness, but he’s got a lot to learn, especially after this. Let’s hope that he does. 3.5/5.
Cost of Living: It’s another Lwaxana episode folks… yay. Okay despite my complaints about her episodes, the last one’s issues I had was more due to the subject matter than the character. If anything, she was the best part of it. So maybe this time things will be better. So this time, Worf is having parenting problems with Troi trying to help him and Alexander make it work. Lwaxana is on the Enterprise as she’s getting married, to Troi’s exasperation and Picard’s utter relief, and ends up butting in. Oh and the ship malfunctions because it’s Star Trek. So… it was okay I guess? The Holodeck scene was just utterly bizzare and I’m still trying to wrap my brain around WTF just happened. To be honest, Troi is the best part of this episode. She’s trying to reasonable help Worf with his parenting issues, Alexander with his lack of discepline/responsibility, her mother marrying a guy she never met and bending agains the Betazoid traditions that she usually follows, and she’s clearly just fed up with everyone especially her mother. It makes her such a joy to watch, haha! Lwaxana was… alrigh. On the one hand, it ws not at all her place to butt into the whole Alexander situation especially since Troi was handling it. On the other hand, the episode does go more into how lonely Lwaxana is and make her manhunting/desire tog et married more sympathetic. Te previous episodes always played it mainly as a joke/a condition of her species at her age, but it never allowed her to actually delve into why she’s so desperate. How she’s fears rowing older and being all alone without someone to love her… and gosh I’ve absoluteley seen this before and it’s just sad. Consideirng that this came out the same year that Gene Roddenberry, majel Barret’s husband and of course as we know the franchise creator, has passed… I can only imagine how rough this had to be for the poor woman. But if she wad channeling that into her performance, she did a fantastic job. Also Lwaxana’s fiance? He was played by freakin’ Tony Jay. The man is a freakin’ legend the voice acting world (probably best known as Frollo in Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame, by far his darkest performance yet probably his best) and it’s the first time I’ve seen him in a live aciton role. He plays a snobish asshole and obviousy the marriage falls through in the end, but he made the episode worth it! So yeah, I’m still not a big Lwaxana fan but they are trying to add more to her and overall it was fine. It’s not great, for example the Enterprise’s plot felt tacked on to fill in the runtime, the pacing was rouh, and the storylines were not at all balanced out well. But it was overall fine, though i think Half a Life did her better. Troi, some legit Lwaxana development, and getting an appearance by Tony Jay made it worth it XD 2/5.
The Perfect Mate: While preparing for a peace treaty, the Enterprise picks up two Ferengi, one of which messes with the cargo, and releases a young woman named Kamala, a mutant amongst her kind whose abilities let her become the perfect mate for any man, from suspended animation. She was meant to stay that way until the ceremony... and was meant to be a ‘gift’ to one of the sides. Yeah... that’s not at all messed up. Due to the Prime Directive, the crew can’t interfere... and we find out that there was a more complicated reason as to why Kamala was as she was. This is pretty much the TNG version of Elaan of Troyius from TOS. Kamala is completely different from Elaan, more composed and well-mannered while Elaan was more aggressive and upfront. Looking back I do feel I was too harsh in calling Elaan a brat considering the conditions she was under, but the episode certainly didn’t give he much sympathy from anyone (aside from Kirk) while they do better calling out the arrangement here. Then again it’s been months since I watched the episode so I may be remembering wrong. But it does ultimately end with Kamala entering an unhappy marriage, but she bonds with Picard and ends up acting as his perfect mate, so... hope that goes well. The whole empath/metamorph thing felt necessary as well, you didn’t need a reason to make men attracted to her for this episode to work. Which yes it only works on men, remember this is the 90’s folks. I’m kind of baffled as to why Troi wasn’t in this one considering we have another empath, that could have added a more interesting layer and justified that part. But I shall repeat what I said in Elaan when they put Kirk under that tear-induced love spell: you don’t need those elements to keep a plot spicy. The Ferengi we're also utterly pointless. While I feel that the subject is better done than in TOS and it felt more evenly paced... I’m still not a fan of it. It has more of the nuanced debate on the arranged marriage plot that I was annoyed that Elaan didn’t have... but I’m still pretty meh about it overall. it’s alright, but just that: alright. 2.5/5.
Okay folks, we’re five episodes away from finishing S5. So far... it’s only been alright. There’s been a couple of strong episodes, but overall it’s remained firmly in the average range. Maybe S4 hyped me up too much, IDK. I’m still having fun, but maybe I’m just starting to get fatigued from TNG. But we don’t have much more to go, and there’s still plenty of time for S6 to change my mind, so we’ll see how things go from here.

Head empty, pre-TPN season 2 thoughts only.
Normally I don’t even bother with hiding spoilers but since the new season is so close I’ll put everything below a cut (if tumblr cooperates) because I do want anime-onlys to enjoy the season with as little knowledge to what madness is about to happen as possible. This is just a bunch of notes that filled my head over the past couple days.. weeks? A long time.. and if I didn’t write them all down somewhere I wouldn’t stop thinking about them.. so if you understand this whole mess, then kudos to you.
So, here’s your post-season 1/ch37+ spoiler warning.
Demon language:
With Mujika and Sonju making their grand first appearances, I hope actually implement the demon language this time?
The only word spoken in the language in season 1 was the demon god’s name, which was just changed to “Him” (sub) or “The One” (dub), so ignoring it there was fine.
Granted, our demon friends don’t say much in their language during the upcoming arc, aside from this moment in ch48, but I can see the anime passing it off as a mere whisper between the two of them just so they don’t have to worry about it.
Tumblr media
I don’t recall any of the GP poachers using the language though.. right? Pretty sure they don’t..
Anyways, all I’m saying is that they better figure something out by the Ayshe shows up way later in future seasons.
Episode count? 24?
Short answer: I don’t think so? Did once, but stuff happened. Anyways..
Season 1 ended in March 2019, which is also when we learned we were getting a second season and once we found later on that S2 was originally going to air in October 2020, I immediately thought we were getting about 24 eps.
I thought with all that time between seasons, 24 eps would be reasonable and that S2 would end at ch101. S1 managed to adapt 37 chapters, so 64 chapters in a season twice as long sound decent enough, right?
By the time we reach ch101, it would give us the demon forest, shelter B06-32, Goldy Pond and the short trip to Cuvitidala. (all of which would make this long wait for s2 sooo worth it btw.)
By this point we learn a bunch about the outside world, Norman being alive, what happened to Phil, and the demon bastard himself.
I bring up ch101 as a stopping point because it’s the last chapter before the two year time skip and.. I honestly can’t see them doing a time skip mid-season?
I mean, they could if they wanted to, I guess? Having everyone age up suddenly between episodes via a montage, a quick summary or even flashbacks of what we missed.. but maybe at the start of a season? Not in the middle.
Right now we know anime original scenes are going to be included into season 2 so I’m kinda hoping that once we do eventually reach the time skip we learn more about the search Emma’s group went on for T7W/golden water/temples.
I counted. If S2 does indeed get this many episodes, ep23 (or 22, if there’s a break in between somewhere or whatever) will land on my birthday and you can bet I’ll be beyond happy
HOWEVER! all the hope I once had about a 24ep season vanished due to the clusterfuck that was 2020. Thanks to the worldwide pandemic, many anime were put on hold and pushed back several months, with TPN airing this month rather than the original October date.
It was a bummer hearing about the delay at first but I never complained about it. I much rather have the studios prioritize their employee’s health over production.
Even if S2 did reach ch101, or even Goldy Pond, they would need to find a ton of new voice actors, and with how the world is working now.. eh, I have some doubts.
Cloverworks also has two other series airing this month aside from TPN so needless to say they’ll be a bit busy, especially if employees are still working from home, social distancing, or however they’re managing to produce these anime.
So, episode count.. 12?
The main reason I have a hard time grasping the idea of another 12ep season at all is because.. I don’t know where it’ll be a decent place for it to stop?
S1 ending at ch37 with the kids escaping? Perfect. You can’t question that decision. But now? When a whole bunch of craziness is about happen? How do you choose another perfect moment to end a season with?
No matter how many anime original scenes they have planned for the demon forest, I believe we’ll at least reach B06-32, which will get us to ch52.
Could they go farther? Sure. Perhaps ending at ch59-60? It would leave us off with Emma & Ray leaving the comfort of the shelter to follow Yuugo into yet another demon infested forest, much like how S1 left off, as the escapees left their once safe, comfortable life into the unknown world.
Tumblr media
Or end at ch64? After Emma gets snatched by the poachers? It could work. It would certainly leave everyone wanting more, especially us manga readers because goddamn the GP arc would be SO close!
Tumblr media
Perhaps ch74 after seeing Norman alive? Just so it’s not a big darn secret anymore to those who are going into this season blind? (how do people manage to stay anime only? i’m not trying to make anyone feel bad.. i’m just impressed? i caught up to the manga right after s1 because i didn’t have the self control to wait!)
Tumblr media
Ending on that chapter would be so bittersweet to me.. because you know what appears in ch75 and it’s literally one of the only things I care about.
Tumblr media
S2 preview trailers already teased some of the demon forest scenes I’m most excited about, so the only things left that will truly excite me are Yuugo and that darn outfit. (seriously, whenever we do get to see emma in her gp outfit for the first time, someone better scream at me so i can die from happiness.)
Okay, and all the GP kids too.. especially their trio!
Tumblr media
Could they fit the Goldy Pond arc into a 12 episode season along with every other event that came before it? I.. seriously hope not?
Compared to s1, which was very dialogue heavy, GP is about as action packed as we’re gonna get in the near future, and those scenes are going to fly by once they get put into motion.
Quick example (because it was recent and i can’t think of something else atm): the Overhaul arc from My Hero Academia. Off the top my head it was about 40 total ch? That arc took up half of the show’s S4, which was a total 25 eps.
So with the GP ending at ch96, it’ll give us about 20-30 chapters (depending on where you personally see the start of this arc I guess? once yuugo leads the duo through the forest, when emma gets snatched or when the battle actually starts)
If GP were to happen in s2 where there’s 12 episodes.. literally everything would be so fast paced and I don’t want them to rush anything or leave stuff out?
Other options?
It’s very wishful thinking and I would be getting my hopes up for nothing, because I know it won’t happen, but I could possibly see them fitting GP arc if S2 was made up of 18eps?
6 eps for the demon forest, 6 for Goldy pPond, the remaining 6 to accommodate B06-32, Cuvitidala and any other anime original scenes as they wish.
Although fitting about 64 chapters into 12-18 episodes sounds a bit much.. but not really? I seriously have no idea at this point how much story we’re going to cover this season.
Could I perhaps place all my hopes towards a second cour later this year? Like for the summer.. or would I be expecting too much?
This all could’ve been avoided if they just tell us! Seriously, I’ve been thinking about episode count since last year.. and now you have to deal with this mindless chatter of mine.
I’d honestly be okay with another 12ep season though. We waited this long that I’ll just be excited to see all the children again.
Anime-only scenes:
Those 3 days the children spent learning from our demon friends? Yes please! Did you know Emma not only learned how to use a bow and arrow but a freakin’ harpoon as well? Like.. hello?? I must see this!
Tumblr media
Perhaps they’ll even adopt some of the extra pages from some of the chapters, like they did in S1 with the flashback of Norman being sick in ep10.
I know this will be such a high hope, but I remember in ch177 how Emma claims that after they escaped, they all remembered how kind Isabella really was, so if they decide to adapt the extras from ch41-42 & ch45, I’ll cry.
Tumblr media
And these pages? Cloverworks, please..
Tumblr media
I’m literally begging here..
Tumblr media
Especially these two! Even though I still doubt we’ll reach Goldy Pond if we get 12eps.. but in the future! Please!
Tumblr media
Other random nonsense:
I may or may not get emotional upon seeing Isabella at the very start when she goes to confront Grandma Sarah. If her hair is kept down as it was at the end of S1 then I’ll give the anime staff my sincere thanks.
We only heard 15 seconds of “Identity” and yet it has been living in my head rent free ever since that trailer dropped. I need to hear the full song sooo damn badly, y’all have no idea.
Here’s hoping they don’t cut out the inner monologues again. At this moment I don’t remember any specific ones from the demon forest I want to see but I’m sure they’re present.
I’m ready to die at every cute Chris moment they give us.. and this entire scene where the kids scold Ray.
Tumblr media
Literally every scene with Emma & Ray. They’re my top 2 favorites from this series okay? Of course I’m going to fangirl over them. (they already showed the hug in one of the trailers and i damn near cried)
Tumblr media
If we see him, (which i’m sure we will, but i still have tiny some doubts) I hope they give Yuugo a fantastic voice actor.
Also, his nicknames for everyone!! Literally everything about that man I’m hyped for.
Again, very doubtful we’ll get GP in a 12ep season, but whenever that arc decides to grace us with its presence, “63194” better play on full blast when ch92-93 gets animated.
Speaking of music, while I’m completely excited to hear the new OST that Obata has in store for us (thank god he’s doing this season again btw!), I hope we hear some of those unused tracks from the first season, specifically “Their Own Thoughts.”
Every time Emma mentions their future, their goals or how her family will always be together, I’ll cry. (thanks demon god and your stupid reward)
Yes I’ll be doing those reaction posts (if you follow me i’m sure you’ve seen them by now) after every new episode as I do with other series I watch.. once I survive the usual long day at work, avoiding anything TPN related so I can watch in peace and quiet when I finally get home.. damn it, im already so anxious, help.

Noor also checked Moyo a few times and it was effective enough to shut him up and make him recoil a little in embarrassment. (Yes, Moyo, reassess ur behavior). Even if Moyo and Noor didnt have a relationship, i think they could have had a cool friendship. Noor would check Moyo and bring out his better side, and Moyo would hype Noor up and give he an added dose of confidence (a more self assured Noor would have known robbe was half stepping)
I do think s3 was setting up the idea of Moyo and Noor but Noor literally became non-existent in s4 and since there is rumor that Marie takes on the eva role or lets say kato does there is no reason we should see much of Britt and in-turn much of Noor in s5. Unless..... what if Noor goes to Sander’s school now? We don’t know much about her so it could have happened. I think I am in the minority but I sorta of like how in s4 we didn't completely cure Moyo of all his bad traits because I feel like that is super unrealistic not everyone has a whole personality flip in a few months. I think we got to understand Moyo more but Moyo can still be a dick at times but I kinda of feel like thats just a bit of his personality the same way Aaron really is a bit clueless and dumb. Like yea sometimes he puts it on but for the most part he is kinda of ditzy. Will Moyo and Noor have a shot in s5? I doubt it even if Kato isn’t around. I will be more so shocked if we ever see Noor again outside of the free fest party scene sequence in s5. Also fun fact out of all the Isak’s who identify as gay I did think Robbe was the best at playing strait like he really laid it on thick on Noor. So I get her genuinely being pissed at him.

Aikatsu Stars! Episodes 85-92
Tumblr media
No, this isn’t on Parade just yet.
While in the hype for on Parade's anime and the stupid 24 hours livestream pokémon is doing, here I come with more Aikatsu Stars to distract myself. I'm not gonna lie, I'm extremely tired so my comments this time may not be the best and I apologize for it. Anyway, let's get this show on the road.
Tumblr media
Starting off with episode 85. This episode sets up the mood for the episode that comes after it with everyone getting worried about earning one of the top 4 spots in the ranking in order to make it into the final tournament. And while this episode was enjoyable, it had that big filler feel to it, despite not being one? I don't know to put it very well, but it didn't feel like an episode where a lot had happened. If there's one thing to say is that I was very confused with the Yume writing a song part because the song she wrote was MUSIC of DREAM, but the song she performed in front of the judges with the other girls wasn't that one. But honestly, I didn't care much for this episode to the point where I'd get annoyed by it or not.
Tumblr media
Following up we have a very beautiful episode about Rola, but that had a very weird and unexpected event on it that kinda stole the spotlight. Like, Elza getting her sun dress there felt SO SUDDEN, we didn't get any preparation or buildup for it, Elza started the episode doubting herself then all of sudden she was so confident and her dress evolved like that???? It makes no sense. Like yes, that performance gave me chills, I can't deny it, but there was no reason for it to happen at that moment other than to crush Rola and make it look obvious that she'd lose and that was a very cheap move. Yeah, in the end Rola came out of it with a very good lesson about not giving up, but at this point, with so many times they made her lose, it doesn't even feel as emotional or rewarding as before. Rola deserved more. Also, what the hell was that evil laugh at the end of the episode????
Tumblr media
The next three episodes come as a very weird break in the whole plot and mood of the show by giving us the holidays episodes.
87 was the Christmas one and I was okay with this episode till the moment M4 had to appear to help these weak helpless women because that's what strong men have to do. And then everything goes downhill with the lovey-dovey stuff with Ako and the glasses dude. Neither Koharu performing again or Rola setting on a new goal for the end of the series could save this episode for me. I'm sorry.
Episode 88 is the one dedicated to New Year, and it was pretty bland until the drama part came out. That drama was amazing, Lily was hilarious doing her role and, as weird it was seeing Koharu acting like a depraved nurse, I still enjoyed this episode quite a lot. One thing I didn't understand was why they've put Yume to perform when Lily or Yuzu would make more sense since the two of them were the ones driving the episode forward. But oh well.
And to finish the holidays is episode 89 which was basically a recap of the season so far and didn't give me anything interesting to talk about.
Tumblr media
Now I don't know if I wasn't invested after so many uninteresting episodes, or if it was the exhaustion catching up, but the other three episodes I watched from this point on didn't leave a big impression on me? I don't know, I think they crowded these episodes with events that were supposed to hold some importance and it felt rushed. I don't know if I'm explaining myself in the best way, but I'm sure if you've seen the episodes you can understand what I mean.
Episode 90 is probably the most interesting out of the three. Elza announcing that she's closing Venus Ark is an interesting conflict to some extent and seeing the character having to deal with it is pretty cool. Again, since they're cramping so many events one after the other it weakens a little the episode, but Rei and especially Kirara are great in this episode and I was very touched by that moment in the race where Rei stops and go back to help Kirara out.
Tumblr media
Sadly, I feel like the next two episodes lose this momentum and they kinda follow a different plot line that was less interesting to see. Given that Aria and Mahiru worked very well together in episode 91, and I had my moments of fun while watching it, but I definitely wasn't as invested since I wanted to know more about how things were going at Venus Ark.
And I have even less to talk about episode 92. I know it's the first time the new S4 performs together and technically we can't consider it filler, but like, this was completely just a waste of time before the tournament begins and as cute as the old S4 looked dressed like demons, it still wasn't enough to make me care about this episode in specific.
Tumblr media
And I guess that's it! On Parade is starting in a few minutes and I'm gonna try to find a working stream to watch it. I'll talk to you guys tomorrow.

I was tagged by @vildeliens thank you Queen (of clowns and headcanoons) ❤️
Pick 5 shows, then answer the following questions, don’t cheat. Tag 10 (or however many) people.
Oz
Skam France
The Walking Dead
Doctor Who
Torchwood
1. Who is your favourite character in 2? Well that one is easy as hell. Lucas Lallemant, without the shadow of a doubt. I just adore that boy... I really do believe that he’s the most developed character of the whole skam universe. Also, i relate to him so so much, being parisian and 17 and queer and just, globally similar. And that Acting (TM) sure helps (will i ever be over axel’s acting? I dont think so)... I am gonna stop before i write essays (you all think this is a joke but i actually write random stuff about Lucas when i get bored in class, thats how bad it is). I just really love this boy folks...
2. Who is your least favourite character in 1? Well that’s an easy one too. Vernon Schillinger, because he is a neonazi, which is enough. And he is just plain BAD (rapist, murderer, coward, blackmailer... you name it)... And it’s not even a love hate situation, i despise the guy so  much, he makes me wanna crawl off my skin whenever he is on screen. Also i think he’s quite one dimensional which is very weird for that show but yeah. He is The Bad Guy.
3. What is your favourite episode of 4? Well that’s a harder one lmao, because you know, the show has been going on since 1963, which means i have many many favourites... Imma go only with reboot, cause thats the one i know better and i have to say it’s the one i enjoy the most. I think my all time fave is the two parts one, The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances, because those are just so perfect in every aspect imo. But i also love love love the library arc from season 4 (i think lmao) because KUDOS FOR MAKING US INSENSITIVE ABOUT A CHARACTER’S DEATH ONLY FOT IT TO KILL US LATER (and overall the episodes are so so good). Also, because i’m a hoe for big dramatic moments, the episodes with the Master (end of s3 and end of s4 mainly, i dont really like Missy) and the two parts The Stolen Earth/Journey’s end (i remember being so hyped by all of them squading up). Also, it’s not an episode but it deserves its place there: the entire season 6. Because Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Alex Kingston and Arthur Darvill are just so good. I didnt really enjoy seasons 8 to 10 (even tho i adore Peter Capaldi), but season 7 also has some that i loved (Angels in Manhattan and The Name of the Doctor killed me). And the 50th anniversary. I MEAN THIS IS COMPLICATE I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH IT HAS SO MANY GOOD EPISODES (and it’s the first show i got obsessed with so theres that)
4. What is your favourite season of 5? I think i’ll go with season 2 (?), because i love the og squad and they were all in it in s2, and i think the arcs were done really well (and the last episode, haha, me dead)... S3 and 4 i enjoyed less cause i think the teams didn’t really work without Tosh, Owen and Ianto... I couldn’t really find that magic again (and yes i’m still bitter).
5. Who is your favourite couple in 3? It’s hard to find ALIVE people to form couples with lmao so i’ll go with one that is in kinda stand-by... it’s complicate...  Rick and Michonne cause i loved how they were best friends first and how their whole story was built... It made a lot of sense to me. Also i love the show less nowadays but i think those are still strong characters (minus Rick now lol)
6. Who is your favourite couple in 2? I had to snort. I know, it’s going to surprise you all, but it’s Manon and Charles OF COURSE. Kidding (pls. break. them. up). It’s Eliott and Lucas (how many of you all are surprised) because. Do i need to explain. Just. Everything. I can’t even put it into words. they’re just a perfect match and so in tune and so in love and i should stop now but i won’t so i’m sorry. I love how they complete each other and understand each other, and i loved how Lucas made Eliott’s dream real (polaris), and i love how they arent perfect yet they learn with each other and they make each other better . I love how cute they look and how in love and how raw. I love the way Lucas’ voice softens when he talks to eliott, and the way eliott’s eyes are so full of wonder. Also the way they fight sometimes but always come back to each other and love stronger. And their ship names literally means “chosen one”, how could I not ship? LISTEN THEY JUST FIT OKAY AND I WONT TAKE ANY CRITICISM
7. What is your favourite episode of 1? oh god i don’t remember them all at all lmao but imma try to come up with one (not 22838 like i normally do). So i’d say 4x11 (revenge is sweet)?? but honestly the show is so continuous that its hard to choose one ep... id say s4 is my favourite hands down though
8. What is your favourite episode of 5? YES THAT I CAN!! it’s from season 1, even though i love s2 better overall, Countrycide. I loved everything about that ep, and it still sends shivers down my spine when i think about it. I particularly enjoyed how it depicted the team’s relationships and how it showed that monsters can be amongst mankind (which, we been knew, but still. it was very well done for a show that fights aliens to fight humans)
9. What is your favourite season of 2? Another easy one! Season 3, as my entire blog can attest. It’s just. A masterpiece. That’s it that’s the post.
10. How long have you watched 1? I bingewatched it in like two months (cause i had to take breaks because school) in 2016. It’s a show that ended around 2000 so it’s not like i HAD to wait, and the episodes aren’t really stand alone so i had to watch them in a row.
11. How did you become interested in 3? I started watching with my dad because he is a cinephile that shows me loads of movies and tv series, then showed it to my mom. And now my dad stopped watching so i watch it with my mom exclusively even though i dont enjoy as much as i used to (still love it though).
12. Who is your favourite actor in 4? Matt Smith (even though i adored Eccleston, and couldn’t appreciate Tennant’s AMAZINGNESS cause i was too sad to see 9 go aoimjdk). But Matt Smith is the funniest, most Doctor-ish one imo.
13. Which do you prefer, 1, 2, or 5? This is gonna sound like a betrayal to shows i’ve watched for so many years but Skam France, hands down. (i’m obsessed okay)
14. Which show have you seen more episodes of, 1 or 3? 3 because it has more eps and i’m caught up with both, so logically its 3.
15. If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be? Umh i think i’m kinda similar to Clara in some ways (?). Maybe. Like in the way we’re both hopeless romantic in search of an adventurous life. Plus, she is a lgbt+ icon and you can’t convince me otherwise so there’s that. i mean i think i globally identify with companions cause i wanna be them so bad lmao (imagine how cool it would be for my nerdy self ugh). But i look like a Sontaran so. Mayhaps i’d be one of those instead
16. Would a crossover between 3 and 4 work? umh that’d be funny as hell. The Doctor just jumping in a zombie apocalypse. Though i think they’d find a way to stop the apocalypse, so the second show would be annihilated by the first one. Mmh. Interesting still, up for it (i’m up for anything tbh)
17. Pair two characters in 1 who would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple? That’s the hardest one i had to answer GOD. I’d go with the crack ship, Ryan O’Reilly and Miguel Alvarez, tho they would both kill me and then burn my body if they ever saw this
18. Overall, which show has the better storyline, 3 or 5? Weeeelll i think The Walking Dead used to have an amazing storyline (the Governor’s arc was spectacular), but now i’d go with Torchwood cause sometimes (a lot of times), shows that don’t try to make it last for ages tie everything better. And Torchwood did tie things well enough imo (even tho i’m forever sad and bitter)
19. Which has the better theme music, 2 or 4? I don’ think Skam France has a theme music?? more like soundtracks (amazing ones)??? But i mean even if it did Doctor Who would still win cause the themes are fantastic (yes i went there)
This was so fun guys so imma tag @evnisak, @isak-valterssen, @jebentnietalleen, @demauryy, @srodvlv, @takaoparadise, @starcassstic, @thebananaslug, @sleepingthroughmyproblems, @akalousthings and anyone else i forgot, or anyone wanting to do this really

If what the nucleus tweet said is true and it could mean that we would get a lot more episodes without the time to "digest" the episodes that they air, do you thinks is really a bad thing? I think that we would be able to enjoy it more, like watching a movie since we are getting quickly, but that just me.
If that’s your personal preferred viewing experience, that’s fine, but for the fandom, the show’s popularity, and the potential for growth and hype, it’s definitely a bad thing. I think you may be underestimating how much content this season truly is - 21 episodes is going to be nearly 8 hours of content, which is like 4-5 movies. I might even agree with you in part: I don’t necessarily think that digestion time for analysis is the biggest issue, if for no other reason than that no amount of time seems to be enough for this fandom to understand things. Sophomore Slump was over a year ago and it seems people still can’t agree on what it actually meant, even though it was clear as fucking day.
On to the more important issues: the fandom thrives on fanart and fanfiction, and those take time. Even season 3A really didn’t have a massive abundance of art during the bomb, besides some highlight moments, whereas earlier seasons have fanart from every single episode here and there that was made as they were airing (weekly). And individual content creators may not even have time to draw that often anyway even if they wanted to - the benefit of a weekly episode is that a creator has about 7 days to pick and choose from to find inspiration or take the time to make something cool, but with daily episodes, maybe a creator isn’t free until the weekend and then they have to prioritize which episode from the last week to draw something from.
And even further than that is the more general problem with reception - the show’s fandom had been building up for a while, 3B was the most popular its ever been by the raw numbers, and they’ve been trying to keep people interested during the hiatus. Especially given that Season 4 is primed to feature content people have been hyping up for a long time now, there’s so much potential to grow it even further that would just be wasted. Treating the whole season as just a last hurrah does a major disservice to the love and care that has undoubtedly gone into the show, for one thing - again, I can’t stress this enough, Season 4 is eight hours. This is nearly 30% of the show that is coming up, it’s not as though it’s just the finishing touches to what has come before it, there are going to be entirely new arcs started, developed, and finished during this, and it’s just one of the many reasons I kinda hate the notion that the whole thing would be lumped together as just “come see the last leg of SVTFOE before it’s gone forever!” I’m especially sensitive to this, of course, since Season 4 is set up to be the holy grail of the content I’ve been waiting for and ready to bask in for a while. Not something I just want to see and be done with - I’ve been hoping to ride the high for as long as I can, and I’m sure many fans feel the same, especially since a lot of people just learned Season 4 was the last one in the first place!
Everything else is just insult to injury. The major hiatus with almost no communication from anyone feels so much shittier knowing it’s not even going to lead to a golden age of hype. All the buildup to the last set of character arcs has taken such a long time and required so much patience from the fans that having the thing they’ve been waiting for start and end in a month just feels like trash, too. If the show had always aired in a Netflix style, OK maybe we’d be used to it. But the prospect of sitting through the suffering and tension of Star and Marco’s relationship being strained by confused, hurt feelings for nearly 2.5 years to just get the peak of their relationship rushed out to us in its entirety in a month honestly just disgusts me. And it sucks even MORE because I know Daron and the crew are gonna get all kinds of flak for this when they’re as much a victim as anyone else! Showrunners don’t really have much say in this normally: the creator of the upcoming Disney series Amphibia tweeted out a poll recently (which at the time I thought was for Amphibia itself but now makes me reconsider whether it was foreshadowing our current situation) and the responses were overwhelmingly in support of weekly (the tweet has since been deleted, I hope you can trust me on this).
Tumblr media
Alex Hirsch himself responded and was vocal that he was sickened by some of the decisions made airing Gravity Falls.
Tumblr media
I know this has been long-winded but it pisses me off so much, and Alex’s comments summarize it nicely. We’ve already suffered a huge momentum loss from this hiatus, and Season 4 airing weekly would be a chance to get that all back and then some. Sure, in the long run it would’ve been way better to start airing S4 in late 2018 just to keep people more interested, but even with this giant hiatus, there’s still an incredible value to building up that rapport with the fandom again. Instead, if they do opt for a bomb, it basically means they’re tossing all of that potential into a trash can and just saying “well whoever still gives a shit can have the last 30% of the show shoveled into their face before it fucks off forever.” Disney Channel is absolutely godawful with reruns and overall support for their animated shows, so trust me once again when I claim that a Disney Channel bombing all of S4 wouldn’t be a gateway to attempts at spreading it further - it would be the death knell.  Sure, maybe there could be some additional merchandise afterwards, and the bomb would attract some attention and get some media outlets and articles talking about it after the fact, but there’s a catch. Disney’s streaming service won’t be completely public until near end of the year, so there might not even be a way for interested fans to easily and legally watch it after the fact even if there IS some kind of interest generated! Even if we don’t have the details yet, if the speculation turns out to be true, I think it would objectively kill the vast majority of the show’s remaining potential for additional widespread success and for fans who may have been turned off by either the content of prior seasons or the lengthy hiatus to get back into it.

Spoilers for Victoria 3.4 (which has not aired yet in the UK); long rant underneath the cut/read more/keep reading:
Disclaimers: I have to forewarn that Nancy’s my favorite on the show so I’m still grieving, I’ve only watched the episode once and some of the stuff toward the end was a blur, and also I only skimmed Nell’s podcast transcript (I also haven’t stepped into the Vic tags since Monday).
It’s been a week and I am. still. ANGRY.
I made a quip earlier that ITV was shielding us from this, but really, had this been on ITV first we'd might have more warning, thanks to press releases and the British TV magazines. The only thing that had me slightly worried was that I figured out that Nell’s BTS pics in Instagram seemed to stop with this episode, given that I had manage to kinda match the rest to an episode, and the remaining pics all being her in the one purple dress.
I’m gonna try not to compare in this post to other period drama TV shows, but the most infamous similar incidents involve the actors wanting off. Again, I skimmed Nell’s podcast’s transcript versus a carefully reading or listening to it, but regardless if Nell was or wasn’t going to sign for S4... I think this is the last we see of Charles. This wasn’t a situation of the spouse still being on the show and need to split up a couple without them breaking up. And I think given where they were story-wise, they could have been written out alive, again no matter Nell’s contract [side note: most British TV shows always start the main actors with a 3 year contract. So Nell saying she signed up 3 is the usual].
The whole thing just feels COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY. If Goodwin felt like she painted herself into a corner having two characters no longer in the palace, she just... could have not shown them after they left service. Ernest and Harriet are still alive somewhere, and we don't even know where Wilhelmina is. Nancy could have, and should have, just ridden off into the sunset with her husband. Their exit, alive, was right there for them, set up. This seems to me to a change of direction from what Goodwin was going for when she wrote 2.9.
As for historical accuracy, okay I understand what she did with Drummond because of the true historical figure but hey, the person who was really named “Skerrett” lived to be 90 something. Sure, Nancy was really far removed from her but... it makes it way less understandable.
I think also... Goodwin seems to hate love. But given what we know about Albert, why can’t she have one happy couple? Or is that the reason why? But no, we’ve lost Lord M, Drummond, and now Nancy.
Dr Snow asks a patient's mother early on in the episode, "Do you want his death to mean something?" With Nancy... it was just a plot device. Kill the sweet one for maximum impact. Shock value. Get Victoria to be upset and reconcile with Albert. Yes, yes, many people have said the show is called Victoria. But Goodwin did not have to be so damn extra extra cruel. Not only was Nancy pregnant, but the whole reason she contracted it was because she was taking a tonic for morning sickness that happened to contain infected water.  Like Goodwin, that’s fucking fucked up.
And it really pulled the rug out from underneath those of us who ship Skerrettelli. Masterpiece super hyped up their wedding and then of course, Goodwin herself kept building up the good things but then as this episode progressed... you knew something the wrong.
And on (another) sad note, Nancy still was referred to as “Skerrett” in her final credit. Because again, that’s what Victoria knows her as, and that’s who’ll she’ll remain. A lot of period dramas take a tonal shift around this point (in terms of number of episodes) with shock value, so maybe I shouldn’t be surprised, but Victoria seems to have been so much more severe with the swerve. That said though, this isn’t gonna have the emotional fall out that other period dramas have had. Perhaps Brodie and Abigail might mention Nancy in passing, but I don’t foresee Victoria mourning her in the next episode. Ultimately, the only true impact that remains is the one on the audience, as I don’t think we’ll see heartbroken Charles again.
If Goodwin didn’t want to write a true ensemble, then fine, but she needed to figure out a better way to write multiple characters. But really, what we learned was that Nancy was just to serve Victoria, whether as a servant, or a plot device.
Which is so sad because for me, she was so much more.

Some people commonly seem to miss this for some reason in favor of settling for ‘gross man’ parallels but like okay, instead of concluding Martin and Manny are the same person, Pardo just desires his life to be a movie, whereas Martin’s just was one??. Like it can still be a parallel, but arguably Manny parallels several other characters too, though that's not what this is about.
Pardo quite literally says movie-esque one-liners. (In)Famously, the 'I was born with thick skin’ line was actually used in an episode of Miami Vice (S4 finale ep 22). Several of his other lines are more general but they hold that [snarky movie protagonist quip] vibe: 'sometimes I hate this city’/ 'you got the good genes’/ 'I’m sorry but you’ll have to take me by force’/ they’re all those movie lines that just exasperate the audience because they’re said right before/after he does something somewhat significant that gets downplayed by the line’s lameness.
Also, I don’t think Manny would enjoy MidnightAnima/ even if I imply him to be the 'movie fan’ of the cast. Think about what his profession is, then think what the movie is about. It’d be impossible to separate the movie events from the fact that just 2 years ago an actual police station slaughter happened right where he lives, and now here it is, exaggerated and glorified in movie form. At most he’d watch it out of obligation or spite. TBH this personal viewpoint he holds over it likely bleeds out when the masked killings come back again if he didn’t already dislike them for killing 'his people’(other cops). His sacred media, now tainted by a film based on real events that happened in less than a decade ago and now this.
The Pardo we witness in the events of HM2 is late into a mental decline. This is evident at Evan’s remark to him saying 'when did you become such a douchebag?’ The 'when’ surely implies there was some point in time that he wasn’t one. His actions weren’t the result of attention or jealousy, when he killed Tony, think about what he said, 'you just want your 15 minutes of fame’. Nowhere did he let on that he felt like his attention was stolen from him, it’s not that at all. Remember what he said to Evan about the masked murders, that they’re 'unsophisticated’; he considers being a masked vigilante too easy, that it’s boring, overdone, overhyped. He’s completely deluded himself into thinking his life is a movie, he’s the protagonist, that it’s all hype and raw action all the time.
DEAD AHEAD was real 2k4ever, (he was a ruthless bastardo, as you all have claimed, and yet you won’t let him have his dirtiest act on his record @wikia power trip fantasy garbage) even thinking he’s going out with a bang, some final showdown shit at his apartment. And it’s kinda fucked, nobody shows up and nobody found out in the end; to me, none of that sounds like a completely stable, sane person thinking. It’s super reckless if anything else. And if he’s in with the Russians, that just tops off he obviously isn’t thinking clearly at all.
Manny simply wishes his life were a movie, to counter where his work life is routine, mundane, not what he expected, whatever you want to call it; he even has these dumb gun tricks that he probably never gets to use on his job; a camera crew appears briefly as he delivers the 'born with thick skin’ line, and he dreams a rather vivid film set with cameras and a director; dreams in media are always symbolically used to visually glimpse into a character’s mind, ALWAYS; there’s no point to doing it if not to develop on certain things without chronically moving the plot in real time (same goes for flashbacks but that’s hard to do in hotline’s format besides the timestamps)
Applying what we know of what I kindly listed above, is it so far-fetched to consider the serial killer thing was just an added 'oh shit, my life is an action movie’? I’m not excusing it, or justifying it here, but looking through the eyes of the character for a second, he wants his life to be interesting and instead of waiting for it he decides to make it happen. Is it a bad way to do so? Absolutely yes. But understand the environment he’s in. Obviously society in the hotline universe thinks the masked people are heroes for fighting Russian tyranny and the cops are shit for defending the Russians. Crime is rampant in the city as both the Fans and Pardo can clean house guilt-free. Hypothetically, being a cop, how would you react to that?
Partly his actions were about feeling order and control again, which he was clearly losing, I mean, look back at what his job is. He lost faith in his work, and what the law can do and that’s where he died.
The Pardo we play, is dead, inside; just a propped up puppet corpse; when he created the Mutilator murdersona, he died. His serial murders had no creativity, or feeling, aside from a growing frustration gradually over the game’s events. The mutilations were all done post-mortem. The bloody messages are probably the most boring thing you can do, it lacked any sort of motivation.
And that’s just it, Pardo feels like his life lacks direction, or purpose and at this point of his life, it’s all or nothing. He hallucinates a movie setting, something about action, inner workings with the mobs, and catching a serial killer, he doesn’t care about the details, just jumps into the excitement of it. To him it was easier that way. And then it becomes too much, you can’t be the hero and villain of your own story and expect things to turn out. In his dream sequence, he subconsciously made his choice, he faced his monster and the realization gave him a reality check.
Humanity lost, he’s now just a 'character’ with a role to play, to be directed and controlled, like a puppet. He made his own hell and as an observer, Richard can’t understand it, even when he’s watched it play out probably several times. Pardo hallucinated his life as a film because to him that makes everything easier to comprehend.
Tl;dr I sound like Pardo's defense lawyer begging the jury to allow a plead of insanity; no but really, I HATE being that guy, I really do, but Pardo is not a case of someone being a bad egg from the start, it's a degrade over time. Just also note that I'm not a police apologist, the ones I like are only fictional cops, and fictional ones are just that, not real. I should not be shamed for making thorough analysis like this nor should I even have to give out a 5 page handout every time I'm asked on reasons why I like him. I only do it because nobody else wants to try even thinking critically about Manny Pardo.

I don’t really have a question, more like I want your opinion on one of my meta/headcannons? So, Jack gloms onto Cas pretty fast. Unless Jack can determine good from evil from inside Kelly (another topic entirely), what attracts him to Cas? Even if Dagon wasn't nice to Kelly, at least she kept her safe (ish). So, my headcanon is that there is residual grace from lucifer in all of the vessels he inhabited, namely Cas and Sam. Like, he recognizes it as something of his father's. (1/2)
(2/2) I also choose to believe that Jack isn’t evil just because Lucifer is; Lucifer wasn’t born evil anyway. So, maybe Jack will be attracted to Sam, feel safe in his presence, in the same way, using his father’s chosen vessel as a placeholder for his actual father. What do you think attracted Jack to Cas? (I love your meta, keep up the awesome work! :D)
Wow, all the questions :D Well, here’s my opinion based on my understanding and reading of the whole show and Jack’s story so far.
1. Jack zoning in on Cas - it could be that it’s due to Lucifer’s grace but that kind of takes away from the point of it…because imo it’s to do with CAS.
Jack is a catalyst, an exposition for TFW.
He’s not going to suddenly be the focus of the show, he is there to tell us things about the guys we care about already. So imo he zones in on Cas because Cas is good and has good intentions. I mean even within these 2 episodes, the last and first scene we see of Cas with Dean is him caring and healing him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So yeah, Cas is trying to do the right thing (even if he is stupid for the right reasons, right? because that is Cas’ go - to, it’s what he’s always done, making some pretty crappy decisions based on doing the right thing, ultimately it all works out thanks to TFW in the end most of the time in the best way it can in SPN, leading to the next problem, but THIS time or at least, at the end…. Cas needs his OWN WIN based on doing things for the right reasons,  he needs his hero arc and personally I feel it’s likely to happen through Jack, especially if s14 or pushing it s15 is the last, but that’s just speculation, but really it doesn’t make sense otherwise, if they’re going to keep going Jack kinda has to end up bad or making something worse to keep the story going, but as it stands he is the perfect metaphor/catalyst to tie up all of TFW’s arcs and I love it, I’m so ready).
People had different pov’s on this at the time and as hiatus goes on and we learn more from where season 13 is going it seems many are coming around to the idea that Jack is a blank slate, that he showed Cas and Kelly a vision but that he did he isn’t doing it maliciously but is reaching out, that he probably doesn’t know right from wrong that well at this point, potentially he is like the good Angels were in s4 (epitomised by Cas) and thinks paradise is a good thing, that he’s helping, he doesn’t understand free will (he needs someone to teach him about free will, humanity, love… coincidence?).
( This is why we have this wild wild speculation that perhaps he could bring Cas back at first without his memories (so the “most important parts” are back, ofc, as we know thanks to the themes of this in 12x11, 12x20 and who are you as foreshadowing perhaps for this) because he wants to help Cas and doesn’t know this is wrong at this point, because he is still in this ‘paradise and peace is good’ mentality . He just wants to take away the pain, the regret, the self loathing due to his past mistakes that runs through him and has led him down this depressive arc. Then we can see who Cas really is, fun loving, sweet, confident and caring (much like Crazy!Cas imo) and he chooses to have his memories restored and we get a glorious “Dean!” revelation. Who the fuck knows, but I love this idea now @super-sootica laid it in my head and I built this freaking whole of s13 wild fanfic in my head :p )
Either way he’s brand new and acting on instinct and based on his surroundings (which is why I said that imo Jack would probably be ‘bad’ or make mistakes in the first part of s13, to mirror Sam’s arc but also because Dean would probably drive him off or make him turn angry/dark/whatever because while Sam is starting to get through to Jack Dean is so upset and angry he probably bursts into the room and starts yelling at Jack like “WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST DO? YOU SON OF A BITCH YOU KILLED MY HUSBAND AND MY MOM!” and what did we get from SDCC? Exactly this *smugly and annoyingly pats self on the back and hopes this is actually true but has to wait and see*.
Dagon was AWFUL to Kelly, she was threatening Kelly all the time and wanted to CONTROL Jack, while also absolutely being a threat at the sandbox to them all, while Cas had smiled when touching Kelly’s stomach and Jack noticed this, making Kelly’s eyes flash in the motel - so for me Jack had noted Cas’ goodness before this point, in contrast to Dagon. The whole thing was set up for us to see Dagon as the dark parental figure mirror while Cas was the light mirror in all their interactions with Kelly being heavily mirrored. Eg. Cas getting Kelly the water, being hugely consensual and treating Kelly like her own person. Dagon is Lucifer’s stand in and Cas is Lucifer’s light mirror - so absolutely the two are supposed to be seen by Jack and by the audience more importantly, exposition ally through Jack and Kelly, as good v evil.
2. I am a huge believer in that we have no CONFIRMATION that Lucifer was ever originally evil, there’s a hint at it with the jealousy of humanity but then there’s Chuck literally saying he’s not the villain so… yeah. Jealousy does not make a person evil. Then we find out that it’s all because he just wanted his father’s love? Mirroring him to all of TFW? OK they did the story badly imo, making him whiney etc but that was the point of late s11-early s12 for Lucifer.
Then there’s the mark that corrupted our loved and up on a fandom pedestal righteous man Dean within a year and Lucifer had it for Millenia. I mean Lucifer can be evil in the end and be killed (and it’s easer, narratively) but I think we need confirmation either way as my personal view as of right now is that Lucifer should be redeemed and/or reset as the mark did twist him beyond redemption as it stands now OR we need confirmation that he was always evil. But imo a story of redemption for Lucifer through Jack (ironically as he was his tool for evil, should be the one to redeem him and TFW through teaching Jack himself the righteous path, as our heroes) and someone else coming out of the woodwork as the actual big bad due to their own selfish, not forced upon them reasons, makes more sense. Again… SDCC hints at Michael? I’m super interested cos this fits my end of s12 theory exactly, but I didn’t think they’d necessarily do as it’s a bit convoluted but given that Dabb seems to be living in my brain… I’m intrigued.
Anyway, the idea that Jack is inherently evil is just so WRONG I can’t even…. there are 2 points, that Lucifer probably wasn’t even evil to start with and the WHOLE POINT OF THE SHOW which is that each individual can decide what they want to be and be their own person NOT based on their lineage and specifically fathers and blood.
FAMILY DON’T END IN BLOOD AND IT DOESN’T START THERE EITHER.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If Jack decides to be evil, if he turns evil for his own reasons then FINE. It makes no sense to me unless they are going to keep going with the show for a good while longer (like s15+) or don’t know what to do with s14 (imo humans as the big bad makes most sense to finish up on to really subvert the start of the show and emphasis all the social and psychological themes of the show), but I can go along with it if that’s what is necessary production wise even if it doesn’t make a ton of sense narratively, because that’s the nature of shows like this that sometimes are never ending and sometimes get randomly cancelled like Angel halfway through telling a story so it just doesn’t make sense (e.g. Fred). But him being inherently evil is just so bleurgh and against the whole principles of the show, just, no.
3. I think absolutely Jack will be attracted to Sam in that they are mirrors of each other and they will have loads of interactions that will be all about Sam forgiving himself in what he sees in Jack, understanding that he sometimes had no control, no choice over what happened but also then when he did, helping Jack make good decisions instead of the bad ones he made (demon blood, Ruby etc) and thus in his own mind ‘making up’ for them and redeeming himself.
I keep banging on about it but “see one, do one, teach one” is my mantra with Jack. Through this all of TFW will get towards their endgames imo, through teaching Jack lessons that are particular to them (Cas humanity, belonging and self worth, Sam to defy Lucifer and self forgiveness, Dean to defy your father/heritage and self acceptance).
Sorry… I am passionate about Jack and kind of flail but all the stuff we have so far about s13 confirms my wild speculation so far so I’m trying to be calm and collected whilst also being super hyped and waving my arms in the air going “SEE?!!!”. I’m excited to see what we are right and wrong about, I’m sure there will be a ton of twists and turns and a few “wow, didn’t see that coming!” moments, but as for now I’m just super excited to see how they take this and relate it to TFW’s (imo) positive endgames :D

Do u know how many panels there are? it's just to know what are the odds of dying lmao. They probably don't know anything about s5 but still it would be nice not to feel dead inside and be killed by blecho endgame and blarke are bros. We're so used to get bad things but now that BC is coming at some point, maybe eliza can be nice again (cause she usually talks about canon things). Tasya probably will hype blecho because is good promo for her tho. The only one who makes me feel secure is Bob lol
I know, I feel the same. And no I don’t know how many panels there are. Tbh since I’m so far away geographically from everything, I’m not looking too much into these things because I can’t attend. So I’m not frustrated and that’s it. I reblog what comes on my dash, and the pics mostly, but I know that I would die if I ever meet Bob so that’s out of the question, I’d be effing ridiculous if I ever meet him. As for ET I’m just… cautious. Like I try not to think about it for the whole week end and that’s it. RN it seems pretty okay, and Idk if Tasya ever said something about Blecho as romantic, I always saw her say things that got me like “mehhh” (like when she said that Echo was DEVASTATED to have hurt Bellamy by “killing” Octagon, I was like “…….. sure……” but I didn’t care). We shouldn’t take very much of what they say that can BE spoilery of next season; again, casual viewers don’t see/don’t care about all these conventions and all. SDCC is still the most important, and the “risky” one. Last year was a mess, after everything that happened I was really looking forward to see Bob there, but he didn’t make it, and I mean, I’m not surprised and I understand. But still the whole ambiance was… weird. Fake, kinda. I hope this year will be better, we’ll see according to who goes there. The fact, tho, that they ARE actively planning on us having a Beliza con is a good thing for us tho (they haven’t had that since the epic 216, they could have settled for Bob cancelling Polaris and that’s it, but no all the sudden he’s avaible for anotheeer one just with ET hmhmm). Anyway, you just don’t look for too much, you just wait and see what happens. That’s what I do tbh, nothing they say will bend what happens on script, and even if Tasya talks about Blecho as canon or whatever, let’s remember none of them have a script yet, so *shrugs* it’s just spec/blabla on s4 and who cares, I don’t see anything Blecho with s4.

Final Thoughts on The Final Problem (& S4)
There is no secret fourth episode. This is it.
Someone on Reddit had a name for it: final episode syndrome. And I agree. The writers wanted to go off big time, and they kinda just went off track. If you loved this episode, that's great! For a lot of us who didn't, the general feeling is that it wasn't a Sherlock episode as much as it was just an episode from a show and they decided to make the main protagonist Sherlock this time. It was too tonally different from the rest of the series.
This entire series, we seem to have followed the journey of Sherlock Holmes from a great man to a good man, and the journey of John Watson from a reasonably good man to a considerably less good one. Which is a bit of a let down.
The over-hyping of the final episode was an issue. I mean, anything hyped-up is going to disappoint, just by virtue of expectation vs. reality. They said 'groundbreaking' and 'history-making' and what we got was neither of those things. I'm sure the 'groundbreaking' was supposed to be in regards to Euros. Honestly, the whole series is groundbreaking television in terms of visual style, but that last episode was nothing special.
The final 'villain' was built up to be almost god-like, far beyond the powers of Moriarty, whose ability to get what he want came down to threats of death, connections and money. Euros was played to be unhinged, with apparently no understanding of emotions but the ability to control them in others. Her convoluted ‘game’ came to an abrupt end when Sherlock solved the puzzle she set up as a child, and the answer turned out to basically be ‘I am lonely in my room come and tell me you love me’. Therefore, rather than the usual thrill of solving the puzzle it was more of an ‘oh, that’s it I guess?’. It was anticlimactic.
Throughout this entire series, there has been a pretty consistent tone: a puzzle being solved in a very clever, visually engaging fashion, and our characters and how they relate with each other being dissected and developed. This is true even for action-packed episodes; even The Abominable Bride fit this tone. The last episode was different in visual style, had a different set-up and different focus. In this last episode, despite all these powerful actors and well-developed characters, we got an action-driven narrative that sidelined characters in favour of forced drama with a new and all-powerful antagonist. And every moment of ‘character development’ was obvious and jarring. Each development had actually already been clearly communicated to us in the episodes leading up to this. (Lestrade telling us Sherlock was a good man was done in a very hand-holding, ‘let me explain it to you’ kind of way that just annoyed me. It could have been said in so many ways and I feel like that was just a really lazy decision. Personally, I found it cheesy yet condescending.)
Sex, or lack-thereof, is set up as this huge important thing for Sherlock. It’s a recurring theme, but it usually fits the narrative, to a point. In The Blind Banker, it’s the humour of Sherlock’s apparent obliviousness to John wanting to ‘get a leg over’ with Sarah. With Irene Adler, her entire life revolved around sex. It was her job, and she used it as a means of control, and it was a consistent theme in the episode. Jabs toward Sherlock’s apparent virginity have largely come from villains, and Euros does not break this mould. However, even with Sherlock playing some notes from Irene Adler’s theme, Euros’ ‘have you had sex?’ came out of nowhere. After which we learn that she raped someone, and apparently cut them up badly enough that you couldn’t tell their gender anymore. Then we just move on from that, and it’s never mentioned again.
We finish, as always, in Baker Street. The resolution to all cases and, well, everything, is Baker Street. The showrunners have always made sure we got that ‘back at home with Sherlock and John’ comfort. After Reichenbach, we got to be with John in 221B, alone, with an empty chair and silence. ‘We are at home, but it is empty now’. 221B is pretty much a character in this show, and is often used as a place for us to ground the characters amidst the chaos. It’s a domesticity that we are included in. But this ending was very different. They showed us our protagonists back in 221B but we weren’t a part of it. We didn’t get that ‘ah, back to normal’ comfort of just being there with them. Instead, we got a time-lapse peek that did a good job of separating us from the action. That entire last montage, by nature of being a montage, pushes the audience away to a very obvious place of ‘you are watching from a distance’. This is compounded by the choice to have it narrated - we are so not-involved we’re actually listening to a story, at this point. I have never once felt like I was watching this show from a distance, until that final sequence.
I could actually probably come up with more points until the proverbial cows come home, but I feel like these are the ones that most stand-out to me. I have purposefully ignored anything shippy, because there is a lot of contention going around about that being the only reason anyone complains, and honestly I never expected anything but ambiguity for any ships and that’s what I got. I’ve also ignored a lot of details in favour of just some overall points, and I feel it’s important to note that these points are made without going into the nitty-gritty. I do not watch a show to analyse it. These things stood out to me without me really looking to notice.
Please feel free to add commentary :)

One of the great things of the season 4 finale to me was that it retroactively made Discord's reform better. Let's face it, they really didn't handle him becoming Fluttershy's friend well in season 3, so seeing him turn on them at the drop of a hat....THEN realize that he really had lost something he actually had come to value...just makes it all fit better.
((YEAh that’s why I like it so much. That and Make New Friends But Keep Discord are… very high up in my list of favorite eps… just thought they were really good.
Besides Discord being back which I appreciated nonetheless I didn’t get the hype behind the s3 ep because I… thought it was done too fast? But with the time given it’s a good ep just.. still. I understand why it was rushed but yeah, I didn’t buy it 100% so it was great to see that - now I can believe it so much more looking back.
The s4 finale really gave me the most feels™ the entire show has ever given me and is what made me finally like really invested in Fluttershy and Discord’s friendship
I think they handled it great which is why I wish stuff like that wasn’t forgotten as soon as it happens but MLP has a habit of doing that which is kinda what I was talking about when I started talking about all of this))

I really like what you said in your answer " they helped wtfock create hype without really knowing what s4 was about and they were equally blindsided by the narratives" so I don't know exactly if you meant what I think you did and I don't want to put words in your mouth, but I do feel bad for the blogs that tried to stay on wtfock's side in the beginning, I speak for myself when I say no one was expecting Kato to end up being racist, I didn't expect at least. And I think it's valid to hold people accountable for defending it, but all I see was blogs that love wtfock waiting to see what the season was about and as soon as the clip with Kato saying "this people" aired, that's when I felt this "fan love" started to fade. But it is still unfair to blame people for engaging with the show until that certain point and I hate to see it, because tbh I feel like it wasn't just the show "fading away" but also the fandom with attacks coming from both sides: the fans that never liked the season since the revelation of Kato and the fans that blindly listened to wtfock and waited. It's kinda sad what this fandom has become and it sucks that it was right before Yasmina's season, if only her season came before this one, I wouldn't mind them doing whatever they wanted with the show, as long as Nora and Yasmina would get the right support, I do understand why fans are gonna feel bad for consuming s5, afraid of being called out for still engaging with a show that promoted racism. It's a very delicate topic, I hope the best for Nora but the producers really messed this up for her.
This anon speaks so many truths that are hard to swallow down but I think as a fandom specifically focusing on wtfock its incredibly sad the position big players in the fandom were put in. I don’t think its a secret amongst larger blogs that wtfock has ways of influencing or reaching out for support via differing networks and I couldn’t imagine how hard it would be to quell loyalty if you have meet or have any bonds with the interns, show runners, producers and or actors. Its only natural to want to believe in these loose connections and when they ask for more time and guaranteeing it to them. However I feel that the creation of Kato sorta of created a crisis of fandom faith because this wasn’t about some silly issue like a break up, or who cheated on who? or why is this boy mean to this girl? or why is this boy mean to this boy? Racism is an incredibly delicate topic plaguing society and societal racism is even more delicate because even the most “woke” member of a society will engage in societal racism as it is truly systemic. wtFOCK takes places in a predominately white country that is currently ongoing some serious issues concerning political ideology, hate crimes and hijab bans. I understand in wtFOCK’s mind why they wanted to depict a character that had all these predisposed notions on race and religion but they did not take into consideration that a lot of their fans are white young females and that in away creating Kato they in-turn did two things. They created a character that embodies some of the worse character traits in white society(that they are trying to correct) and gave that character a platform and even worse of all they didn’t even depict the characters struggles well. No one thinks racism isn’t alive and that young adults dont embody aspects of it but wtfock chose to represent it in the laziest way possible they made a white female reductive in every way possible.
Kato could have had texture I always said I would have love to see your typical hippie loving hyper woke progressive white instagramer who also happens to have micro racist tendencies that she wasnt even aware of but wtFOCK reduced kato to this insanely offensive portrayal in which this white protagonist gets off on purposefully hurting/profiling her black boyfriend and worse of all they tried to make their fans try justify it and change the tide and in-turn challenge their morality. That’s when they crossed the line and I think thats when a lot of fandom influencers stop supporting the show in any monetary way. So what I mean by that is larger blogs publicly denouncing the show stating they should avoid watching the show on their website to plummet the views, engaging in their instagram, or clips that were blatant sponsored content. Basically the notion of your gonna try to use us then we will use you because remember we knew early on that s5 is 100% promised because Nora like that tweet about her season being pushed back. I do wonder what wtFOCK will do for s5. Are they going to reach back out to these fandom movers and shakers to try to create hype? Or is wtFOCK themselves stepping back from being so entrenched with the fandom? I sorta of know the answer to this. I think wtFOCK recognizes the strain they put on fandom influencers(and the fandom because this season caused so much turmoil) and I think they are going to put a new face forward to mitigate fandom/production discourse particularly around how wtFOCK should listen and leverage the fandom social media request but I will say this I know for a fact that after s4 wtFOCK lost some big hitters in the fandom space and I don’t think those relationships can be mended anymore. I think those people washed their hands of their production associations and are merely just here to support the actors from afar now.
