Summary: Patton gets too lose to seeing something he’s not supposed to see... and Remus and Logan work in the same bookshop!
Ship: Lomile, mentioned Sleepxiety, mentioned Roceit
Word Count: 1423
Warnings: Dark sides, Remus “Duke”, mentioned Deceit, swearing, blood, blood drinking, witches, vampires
Patton giggled at his phone screen. He was sprawled out on his bed, messaging Remus.
The Duke: Im not saying id fuck any werewolf I met
The Duke: Im just saying that its definitely rlly hot
Pancake: Werewolves tho?
Pancake: Not something cool, like a witch?
The Duke: UM RUDE!?!
The Duke: ARE YOU SAYING WEREWOLVES ARENT COOL?
Patton was smiling so much his cheeks were nearly aching. It was so easy with Remus, everything just felt so right and natural when they were talking.
The Duke: Actually id probably fuck a witch tbh
The Duke: As long as they had the hat
Pancake: Right, obvs they need the hat to be a witch
The Duke: Exactly!!
The Duke: Oh shit gtg
The Duke: Ttyl byeeeeee
Pancake: Byeeee
Patton tossed his phone down on the bed and flopped back onto his pillows with a happy sigh. He looked out the window at the tree and couldn’t help but feel like all those flowers hadn’t been there yesterday. Or this morning. Patton squeezed his eyes shut. He was definitely imagining it. He sat up again and jumped to his feet. Maybe Emile was making lunch.
When Patton got downstairs he could hear his dads in the kitchen.
“You can keep going, honey. I feel fine.” Emile said.
Patton could hear someone make a small inhaling sound, liking they’d been holding their breath before the tap started running.
“Lo?” Emile asked. “What are you do- shit.”
Patton reached the kitchen doorway and paused as he saw Logan hunched over the sink, coughing and spitting. Emile moved to block him from Patton’s view. “Hey, pumpkin!” he chirped. “Whatcha up to?”
Patton blinked. Emile’s cheeks were pink and he looked uncomfortable. “Um. Do you want some lunch?” he asked.
Patton looked at Logan. “Is Pa okay?”
Emile rubbed his husband’s shoulder. “Papa’s fine. He just, um, ate too fast.”
Patton furrowed his brows. That seemed like a blatant lie. “But-”
Logan coughed once more, louder, and wiped his face on his sleeve. “Dad’s right. I’m fine, Patton.” He rinsed the sink out and stood up straight again, he adjusted his glasses. “I could make us some omelets for lunch?”
Patton still seemed unsure but Logan pushed past it and opened the fridge. “Who wants to help?”
Emile grabbed a frying pan. “Pat, sweetpea, grab the glass bowl please?”
Patton hesitated before taking a deep breath. He was just being stupid. Papa’s fine. He reached up to get the glass bowl and handed it to Emile. They wouldn’t lie to him.
And there’s no way it was actually blood in the sink.
+++
“He almost saw you feeding!” Emile paced back and forth, chewing on his thumbnail. “Oh my goodness. What if he had walked in? He knows something’s wrong. He’s a smart kid, Lo. He’ll figure it out and he’ll be so hurt that we didn’t tell him!”
Logan sighed from the couch, his head in his hands. “Emi, please. Just calm down.”
“I can’t be calm! Patton trusts us now, and we’re keeping this from him. How is that fair?”
“Em, dear, we’re keeping this from him to protect him-”
“No, what does that even mean!? He’s not protected, he’s just a kid who doesn’t even know who his dads really are.”
“Emile.” Logan finally stood up and stepped in front of Emile’s pacing route, making Emile flinch at his vampire’s speed.
Logan took Emile’s hands and set them on his shoulders. He gently took Emile’s hips and tugged him closer. “It’s okay, kitten,” he whispered.
Emile shuddered as the tears that had been building finally spilled over. “I’m just so worried for him.” He buried his face in Logan’s neck.
The vampire rubbed his back. “I know you are.” He threaded his fingers through Emile’s hair and kept running his hand up and down his husband’s spine. “It’s okay.”
Emile cried. “I want to tell him.”
“Shhh, I know.” Logan kissed his head. “I know. We will. We can do it soon. We’ll do it soon, I promise.” He swooped down to pick Emile up, cradling him close to his chest. “Let’s get some sleep now, okay? It’s late.”
Emile sniffed and scrubbed his eyes. “Okay,” he whispered hoarsely.
Logan kissed his forehead and carried him up the stairs, smiling at his husband’s halfhearted protests.
“I can walk!” He insisted, keeping his voice low enough to not wake Patton.
“I’m sure you could, kitten, but why walk when you could have your vampire husband carry you?”
Emile kissed him as he was set down on their bed. “I love you heaps.”
“I love you heaps too, Emi.” Logan assured him. “Go to sleep.”
“Okay.”
+++
Logan hurried into The Witch’s Corner, his arms full of pastry bags and coffee cups. He sped straight to the counter and set everything down. He took a sip from his own reusable takeout cup as he grabbed his boss’s one. He took a second to admire the hand painted designs that were splashed across the cup, Dee’s work. Logan zipped to the back of the shop where Roman was organising a shelf of herb-filled jars.
“Your tea,” he said.
Roman glanced up. “Oh, thank you.” He took the cup gratefully.
“There’s donuts and biscuits on the counter.”
Roman hummed. “And how’s my son? Still obsessing over his wedding binders?”
“Remy was working at the counter when I got there. Virgil was serving all the customers and they both seemed incredibly annoyed with a florist.”
Roman chuckled. “Sounds like them.”
Logan leaned against the shelves and noticed a painting on the wall. “That’s new. One of Dee’s, right?”
Roman glanced over at the canvas Logan was referring to. It was a painting of two black cats, running through a forest, being followed by a colourful, sparkly mist. The witch smiled. “Yes. Dee made it the other day.”
“It’s beautiful.”
“It is.” Roman sipped his tea and straightened a crystal cluster on a bookcase.
They were interrupted by the bookshop’s door opening with a dainty little bell chime. “Hi, Roman!”
Roman smiled and headed out to the front. “Hey, kid.”
Remus bounced over to the counter. “Can I do something cool today?”
Logan walked over to them and sat down behind the counter. “Cool?”
“I wanna do witchcraft!” declared Remus. “Like you, Roman!”
“Roman’s not a witch,” dismissed Logan instinctively, shooting the older witch a tired look. “Stop feeding him your crazy voodoo lies.” he smirked.
Remus lit up. “I want to learn crazy voodoo!”
Roman laughed. “Alright. Maybe later, kid.” He pulled a donut from the brown paper bag. “But for now, you can redo the window display into something cool.”
Remus grinned. That was his favourite task. “Any theme?”
“Well it’s currently centred around dreamcatchers… so I’d say to switch it up we should go with the whole ‘skulls and crystals’ vibe.” Roman teased, smiling at the kid’s enthusiasm.
Remus was wiggling with anticipation. “YES!” He scampered off to collect various bits and bobs from around the little shop, switching things around and taking all the feathery hoops down from the window.
Logan shook his head fondly and pulled his book out from under the counter, it was a dusty old thing full of detailed sketches and smudgy faded scrawlings about ancient lore and myths. It took up a solid half of the counter but Logan loved it too much to stop reading through the old beliefs and occasionally jotting quotes down in his journal to do further research later.
The witch took his donut back to the furthest corner of the shop to finish filing away some new books. Roman finished just in time for Remus to pop back and say goodbye.
Roman waved him off and flipped the door’s sign to read ‘closed’. Logan was packing away his books. “Anything else you want done before I take off?”
“No, everything’s perfect. Go home, Logan. Give Emile a hug for me.”
“Of course.” Logan smiled and turned the door handle. “And stop telling that kid you’re a witch. We don’t need anyone else to know our secrets.”
“Oh come on. Remus is a good kid. There’s nothing wrong with a little bit of magic.”
“Maybe in your case,” said Logan, his smile saddening slightly.
Roman rolled his eyes. “You’re not any form of bad or evil, Logan. You’re just as mystical as the rest of us and the sooner you figure that out, the better off you’ll be.”
Logan inhaled deeply and looked to Roman once more. “Goodnight, Roman.”
“Goodnight.”

The Loser
Imagine Daryl getting mad when Negan takes a liking to you.
Tumblr media
Title: The loser. Warnings: None. Pairing: Darylxreader. Word count: 2,844. Setting: Alexandria a few months after Negan get’s put into the cell.
You had been the one caring for Negan for a few months now and while you still hated the guy with everything in you for the most part the exchanges between you had been pleasant. Yes he was a horrible, heinous human being and he didn’t have a heart, but you did. And it made it hard to see a human being locked behind bars for forever. He wasn’t even allowed to walk around outside in the fresh air. Even the most evil of animals didn’t deserve to be locked up for forever. If a dog bit a human it was most commonly understood that the dog was just be shot. Wasn’t Negan just a human version of a rabid dog with rabies? Why didn’t the council just kill him like they would a rabid dog?
So you hated going down to that dim dirty basement and seeing the down-in-the-dumps man three times a day. You hated that you pitied him. “Hi.” You chimed as you walked in with a paper plate containing a sandwich and a bottle of water.
“Ah, y/n, my favorite person. What’s for lunch today? Please tell me it’s not another grilled eggplant. That shit sucked ass.” He said with a slight lean back where he had moved to stand at the bars next to the tray slot.
“Egg, avocado and lettuce sandwich.” You said as you handed him the plate through the slot.
You could tell he was about to complain, but when his eyes caught yours he smiled and took the plate out of your hand. “Thanks.”
“You’re allowed to complain you know. Lord knows I would be if I were in there.” You said as you sat down in the chair that sat against the stone wall in the room.
“If you were in here with me? Na I don’t think you’d be doin’ much complainin’.” When you looked up from the sketch pad in your hands he winked at you. You felt a blush warm your cheeks as you moved your eyes back down to the sketch pad. It was also your job to sketch views of the towns for documentation and proof that there were settlements in this crazy world. You planned on scattering them out over the settlements just incase something happened they all wouldn’t get ruined if a building or two ended up getting set on fire. You wanted your art to be left behind for future generations to see when you were long gone.
Negan laughed, apparently able to see the pink tint that his comment brought to your face. “What are you doin’ over there?” he asked with a nod to the pad as he chewed on a bite of his sandwich.
“Michonne has given me the task of sketching different parts of Alexandria.” you said as you sketched one of the bars of the cell, not yet working on Negan himself.
“And I’m part of Alexandria?” he asked with a hint of surprise in his voice.
“Well right now it’s just your cell, but be nice to me and maybe I’ll put you in the drawing.”
“Oh, I’ll be nice.” Once again his tone made you blush, but you bit your lips closed and focused on your work. He chuckled quietly to himself. It was quiet for a while, the whole time his eyes were on you, but you only looked up to take in the details of the room and not the man in it. “Tell me, you got a guy up there on the surface?” he motioned to the window where you could see peoples feet as they walked around outside.
“No.” you answered not looking at him.
“So you and Daryl…?” he asked waiting for you to finish his sentence.
“You know it’s really hard to concentrate with you talking.” You said looking up from the paper to finally look at him.
“You said be nice.” He pointed out making you scowl.
“Fine then be quiet and I’ll consider drawing you in.” You snapped and he just smiled.
“So you do like Daryl?” he said through his smile and you bit your lip as you got back to work. It was once again quiet for a few minutes as you finished up the outline of the cell behind the bars that you had drawn. It was time to decide if you were going to sketch Negan into the cell. “Daryl’s an idiot you know. If we were back at the sanctuary I would’ve already asked you to marry me.”
You had been looking down at your pad, but when he said that you couldn’t help glaring up at him through your lashes. “What?” you had no clue why this was the word that you chose to let past your lips but it made Negan flash a big smile and in that moment you found yourself understanding why the women who agreed to be his wife had done so.
“Come on, you’re hot and you know it.” You had never thought of yourself as hot even once in your life. “If we were back at the sanctuary and you were alone, no Daryl, none of your people there to take care of you, no knowledge of the events that landed me here, what would you say to my proposal?”
You closed the book and hugged it to your chest as you glared at him and thought about your answer. If the circumstances were what he just described to you…? You started actually considering it. He wasn’t unattractive. Actually he was pretty damn hot. From what you had heard none of his brides went without and he wasn’t mean to them. The only down side was that you would have to share him. That in and of it’s self was a deal breaker.
“No.” you answered.
“Seriously?” he asked with his signature lean back. You didn’t answer and just watched as he grabbed the paper plate and held it out for you through the slot.
You set the pad on the floor and got up to take the plate from him. “Yeah, seriously.” You answered as you grabbed the plate.
“Why not?” he asked as he grabbed your hand through the slot and flipped it over in his. You dropped the plate on the outside of his cell. You could have taken your hand back. It was just sitting in his, but his sudden action had stunned you. Your eyes moved to his hazels stunning you even more. You saw his body move as he lifted his other hand and started drawing on the palm of your hand with the tip of his pointer finger. “You know I would take care of you.”
Little did you know that Daryl had walked by and heard Negan talking to someone in a flirtatious tone. So he leaned down and peered through the window.
You inhaled a deep breath and let it out, hating how good Negan’s touch felt. “I don’t share.” You said as you took your hand from his. As soon as the warmth was gone you felt yourself sobering up from the daze hisintimacy had put you in.
“Well, good news, I’m single.” He said and you shook your head and turned your back on him to bend down and pick up your drawing pad. “Damn.” He sighed shaking his head as he took in your ass that you had pointed right at him without thinking about it. You stood up and spun around quickly. “You have the keys, why don’t you come inside and let me show you how much I appreciate that fine ass of yours?”
After he asked that you heard the basement door open and Daryl came charging in. “Daryl?” you asked in confusion as he came rushing in looking pissed. “I thought you were out on a run, what are you doin’ here?” you asked in confusion as he stomped over and grabbed you by your upper arm.
“Yeah, Daryl, what are you doin’ here?” Negan echoed your question sarcastically.
“Come on, you’re done here.” Daryl started pulling you from the cell and you willingly followed. He didn’t let go of you until you were outside and then it was like he practically threw you away from him.
“What the hell is your problem Daryl?” you asked looking up at him with creased brows.
“What’s my problem?” he asked back at you. “What the hell is wrong with you, letting him touch you like that?” he growled, practically yelling at you.
You felt yourself deflate and crossed your arms over your chest, covering it with your drawing pad. You felt a tear run down your face from how he treated you and you turned away from him and started toward your house. You weren’t going to argue with him about this in the middle of the street. As you passed one of the windows of the cell you saw Negan looking up at you. You rolled your eyes and kept walking.
You weren’t aware that Daryl was following you untill you went inside and tried to shut the door behind you only for it to hit him. You turned around, stunned that he was there. “Are you gonna answer me?” he asked slamming the door behind him.
“No.” your quick answer only seemed to make him madder. “I don’t think I have to explain myself to you.”
“You seriously think he likes you? He’s playing head games with you.” Daryl glared down at you and tapped your temple with his middle finger.
You slapped him away. “You don’t think I know that?!” you yelled up at him “Regardless of what you think I’m not stupid.” You walked into the kitchen to get yourself a drink.
“I know you’re not.” Daryl almost yelled as he followed you to the kitchen. “You’re the smartest fuckin’ woman I know! That’s why I’m pissed that you let ‘im lay his grubby hand on ya! It looked like you were enjoying it!” you just pored yourself a glassed of water and took a sip as he yelled at you. “He’s a fuckin’ monster and you looked like you were ready to fuck ‘im. I’d expect it from another woman, but you?” his yelling was starting to get under your skin and make your blood boil. “Why-”
Finally you couldn’t take it anymore and placed your palms on the bar as you leaned across it at him “Because it felt good to be wanted!” your yelled words finally shut him up. He just stared at you and the tears that had started slipping down your cheeks. “No man has even given me a second look since the world fell, so excuse the fuck out of me for having a moment of weakness.” You grabbed your cup of water and walked out of the kitchen and to your room where you slammed the door behind you.
You sat down at your desk and took a few deep breaths to calm yourself. After you calmed down you decided that the future generations needed to know that even after the era of civilization fell putting people in prison was still something that worked. So you started sketching Negan by memory. You had just finished what you could when you heard a knock on your bedroom door.
As soon as you opened the door Daryl took a step toward you, grabbed your face in his hands and pressed his lips to yours. You stumbled back from the force but your lips remained together and he kicked the door shut behind him. Daryl didn’t know how to say that he had not only given you a second look, but about a thousand since he’d first met you at hilltop. So he decided to show you.
The two of you walked backwards stumbling around the room like a couple of idiots until you felt Daryl hit something and he fell down to sit on your bed breaking the kiss. He placed his hands on your hips and looked at you. It was weird that all he had to do was squint up at you for you to see that it hurt him when he saw you letting Negan touch you. Even if it was just your hand. You reached out and ran your hand through his soft hair, pushing it out of his face. He let his head fall forward to rest on your stomach. You just rested your hands on the back of his neck and played with his long hair. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know that you…” What, liked you? Wanted you? What exactly was it that was going on right now?
He picked his head up and looked up at you. “I didn’t either. Not until I saw…” he didn’t finish his sentence and when his eyes grew dark he didn’t have to.
“Negan made you jealous?” you asked. He nodded and pulled your hips toward him, silently asking you to come closer. So you moved to straddle his lap. He slid his hands up your back making you sigh before your lips met again. The two of you made out like a couple of teenagers for ten minutes before you broke apart for a breather. “This is nice.” You said from where you lay with your head on Daryl’s shoulder while your hands traced the lines of his abs. He picked your hand up and placed his palm against yours, comparing the sizes of your hands. “I don’t want to ruin the moment or anything, but I have to know…what does this mean for us?” you felt his head turn to look at you so you looked up at him.
“What do ya mean?” he asked and you shrugged.
“I mean, are we still just friends, friends with benefits or…are we something more?” you asked sliding your hand that was still pressed against his to the side to lace your fingers together. “I guess I’m asking you to put a label on us.”
Daryl hummed and turned his eyes back to your hands. You did to and you watched as he grabbed your right hand and pulled a ring off that you always wore on your right ring finger. You wanted to ask what he was doing, but you just watched. He picked up your left hand and placed it on your left ring finger. Butterflies started soaring in your stomach and flew up to your chest. “Not askin’ ya to marry me. It’s just there to hold the place if we ever decide to tie the knot one day.” He said and you turned your eyes to his and smiled broadly. He smiled back before another makeout session ensued.
“Wow, I’m surprised Daryl let you come back down here after the way he pulled you out of here yesterday.” Negan said when you walked in with his breakfast of fresh cow’s milk and stale cereal. You ignored him and handed him the styrofoam bowl and plastic spoon. “You are aware that you put your ring on the wrong hand this morning aren’t you?”
“It’s not on the wrong hand.” You humored him with a reply as you sat down and started putting the finishing touches on the drawing of Neagan that you couldn’t get from memory.
“Whoa, wait a minute, did you and crossbow get engaged?” he asked around his bite of food and you could hear the smile in his voice without even looking up.
But you had to look up to make sure you had his eye shape right. “It’s a promise ring.” You looked back down and started drawing his eyebrows.
“He gave you your ring as a promise ring?” he asked in confusion.
“It’s not like Alexandria has a jewelry store.” You said flatly not looking up from your work.
He was quiet while he finished eating and you finished drawing. When you were done you flipped the pad over and walked over to the bars to show Negan. “Nice. Looks just like me.”
“Yep, you’ll forever be known as the guy who managed to get life in prison in the middle of an apocalypse.” You popped off and he looked a little hurt. “Sorry, that was a little bitchy.” You said as you flipped the pad closed and moved to the food slot and held out your hand for his empty bowl and spoon. He handed it to you, but didn’t let it go. You looked up at him a little annoyed. “You don’t like sharing, does Daryl?”
“You wish.” You scoffed and jerked the stuff out of his hand.
“You like me and you know it.” He said with a smile.
“You’re full of yourself and you know it.” You said back to him as you left him behind and locked the door to the basement on your way out.
Daryl stood talking to Michonne and a few other people across from the cell that Negan was in and you were aware of Negan’s eyes on you as you walked over to the group. Negan gritted his teeth when he saw Daryl’s arm slide around your waist. He lost again.

JUST A NIGHT IN ✐LYON
TAGGING → Ethan Hudson & Roxanne Lynn
TIME FRAME → August 3rd, 2017
LOCATION → Roxanne’s Apartment
GENERAL NOTES → Roxanne asks Ethan’s opinion. There are cookies & milk. Confessions. Marriage Pact. ‘nuff said.
Roxanne grinned to herself as she read Ethan's text, shaking her head and making her way from the kitchen to rinse off the flour that had gotten all over her arms. He never seemed to have a hard time making her laugh and that was one of the main reasons she enjoyed hanging out with him. She debated changing for a moment as she looked into the mirror, running her now clean fingers through her hair and pulling it up into a messy bun before finally deciding that throwing on a hoodie over her leggings would be more than enough. She made sure to put on a little make up before heading back into the living room and sending him a text to let him know that her front door was unlocked for him.
Ethan pulled up to Roxanne's place and turned off his bike after he pulled up next to her car. He placed the key into his pocket, slid off his helmet and ran a hand through his hair. He felt his phone vibrate, pulled it out and saw the text from Roxy before he let himself in. "Honey, Im home." He called out, closed the door behind him and placed his helmet on the floor before he shrugged off his jacket. He placed it on top of it before he headed into her living room.
Roxanne chuckled, rolling her eyes and glancing over to the couch towards him. "If you're home, that means you owe me rent, mister." She teased, grinning at him and standing up to greet him. Rocky was always a tactile person unless someone told her they weren't and hugging was just another way she greeted people. "So now that you're here, you'll listen to my question and give me your opinion right? You said you would if you got to see me and here I am." She waved a hand to motion to her whole body before offering up a pout. "You practically promised."
Ethan let out a laugh as he shook his head and returned the hug. "You should probably get a roommate." He replied as he looked at her nodded as he followed her hand and checked her out. "You know when you do that, it seems like you're screaming, check out my breast." He looked at her pout an smiled. "I know I did, which is what we're gonna do. No matter how much you wanna jump me."
Roxanne shook her head, scrunching up her nose. "Nah. I mean the company would be nice but then it's like people would be invading my space and I don't know how I feel about strangers all up in my business." She shrugged her shoulders, laughing as she glanced down. "I mean, they're not too out there right now so I think I'm okay. You don't get the full affect because no cleavage." She pointed out, placing her hands on her hips before walking into the kitchen to grab a plate of the cookies she had made earlier and placing them on the table in front of the couch. She took a seat, patting the spot next to her and smirking. "Come take a seat. Don't worry, I won't jump you. Promise. I know how much you want you it but you'll just have to wait."
Ethan nodded, knowing what she was meaning and watched her glanced down. "Damn it, cockblocked by a shirt." He replied as he sat down next to her and raised an eyebrow when he noticed the cookies. "Look, Im not that great at telling whats a good cookie or not, Dom's your guy for that." He hung his head and glanced over at her. "I'll wait, for sure."
Roxanne could only laugh at his words then, shaking her head at how ridiculous he could be sometimes. "Too bad for poor Ethan. No boobs for you today." She leaned back in her spot, glancing at the cookies before raising her own eyebrows and scoffing. "I don't need an opinion on my cookies. I know they're good. Rude." She joked, nudging him with her shoulder. "I was going to ask you an opinion on something I plan on doing in the future. The cookies are just a snack, goof. What I really want your opinion on is my restaurant and/or bakery idea. It's a little of both."
Ethan sighed loudly as he relaxed against the couch. "You're going to be the death of me Roxanne." He replied as he glanced over at her and raised an eyebrow. "You sure about that?" He asked and let out a chuckle. He nodded as he listened to her, ran a hand through his hair and stretched with his hands behind his head and glanced back over at her. "Oh, well then Ima grab one and oh really? What's the idea?"
Roxanne giggled, nodding her head in agreement. "I mean I guess I will since you need the breasts to survive, don't you?" She teased, winking at him before grabbing a cookie herself and biting into it for emphasis. "Nice, soft, and chewy. I know my cookies are good, you big meany!" She remarked after chewing and swallowing before licking her lips and looking down at her lap. "I...was thinking of opening a restaurant/bakery when I'm done with school and everything. You know? But for the theme, I was leaning towards fairy tale. Alice in Wonderland to be specific. I just...wanna know I'm not being silly, you know? Everyone's been really encouraging but I know you'll be really honest with me."
Ethan let out a laugh and shook his head. "Nope, I don't. You guys tend to forget that Im bisexual and you guys call yourself my friends." He replied, knowing that she was teasing him and grabbed a cookie. He took a bite out of the cookie, shook his head once more. "Im not a big meany." He leaned against the couch before he got up and grabbed some milk. He poured it as she talked, placed the milk back into the fridge and headed into the living room once more. "I say go for it, its not silly or anything like that."
Roxanne looked up at him then, smiling. "Oh I know you are. I was being more specific about mine." She shook her chest to emphasis, a mischievous smile on her face as she did so. She hummed, thinking for a minute before biting her lip. "You really think so?" She had never really been one to second guess herself but the idea had her on edge and she had wanted to make sure she wasn't just dreaming with her head in the clouds about something that wouldn't work. "Thanks, Ethan. It means a lot to me. It's just something I've wanted for a while, you know?"
Ethan made an oh face. "Oh, okay." He replied as he caught her smile and nodded as he back down onto the couch. "I really think so." He replied as he placed his glass on a coaster and leaned back against the couch as he angled his body towards her. "You're welcome, Roxanne and I know and of course. Have you started looking at buildings?"
Roxanne shook her head at his question, playing with the sleeves of her sweater and looking up at him. "Didn't want to jump the gun, you know? With the idea and then still having to finish school. I don't want to pick out a building until I know I'm ready and I'm not quite there yet but it never hurts to think about a theme at least." She explained, licking her lips and clearing her throat. "So yeah, that's what I needed an opinion on. See, wasn't so hard. Had me pouting and everything, and it was just a yes or no question really."
Ethan nodded as he understood where she was coming from and relaxed against the couch. "Yeah I know and understand. True, have you thought about doing some drawings of the theme?" He asked and smiled softly as he shook his head. "It wasn't, no and Im sorry and true."
Roxanne shrugged a bit before running her fingers through her hair to tug out her bun and placing the ponytail holder on her wrist. "I'd have to ask someone who actually has drawing skills because I can barely draw stick figures but I guess getting some sketches done wouldn't be a bad idea." She murmured as she thought more about it. She smiled up at him then. "It's okay. It means I got to see you and I'm more than okay with that. Plus I got to see you be smooth and that was pretty awesome too."
Ethan hummed a bit. "Well, there are plenty of people who are talented and Im sure would love to help you out. Nah, it wouldn’t be." He repiled with a smile as he reassured her and squeezed her knee. He kept the smile on his face as she talked, nodded and shrugged a bit. "I try to be once in a while."
Roxanne nodded in agreement, knowing she could probably ask around and find someone who would be willing to help. "I'm thinking of asking Parker but she has a lot on her plate right now so I might wait." She shifted her body a little then, moving to rest her head on his shoulder. "I think it's when you don't try that it really works for you. I was definitely surprised by it though not in a bad way."
Ethan took a sip of his water and glanced over at Roxanne when she said that Parker had a lot on her plate. "Oh does she? That sucks." He replied as he felt her head on his shoulder and nodded as he agreed. "True and good."
Roxanne hummed in replied, glancing up at him though not moving from where she was laying on his shoulder. "She does. She's been through a lot and she's working through it but it's okay because she has us. I'll mention it to her though, just in case." She let them sit in a comfortable silence for a while before speaking up again. "How have you been though? We've been talking about me non-stop. What's going on in Ethan's world?"
Ethan chewed on his bottom lip. "Good and Im sure Dom's tearing himself apart if she's going through a lot. I should probably invite him to poker night. Im sure she'll love that." He let out a soft chuckle when he heard her question and shook his head as he ran a hand through his hair. "I've been okay, depsite of not fucking everyone and nothing really important. Doing gigs whenever I can, trying not to get a crush on Dom again."
Roxanne tilted her head, eyebrows furrowing up in confusion as she listened to him speak. "I'm sure a night out would be nice for him, yeah. What's the deal with you and Parker?" She remembered Parker mentioning that he didn't really like her but she had forgot to bring up until then. "I'm sure it's been a struggle with no hookups." She teased before blinking in surprise and sitting up fully to turn her body towards him, staring him down. "You had a crush on DJ before?"
Ethan "Oh nothing, we're peachy as fuck." Ethan said as he grabbed a cookie and shrugged a bit. "Everyone's the same, get to a certain point, what does this mean? Like I wanna hook up in peace." He swallowed his bite as he looked at her and saw her stare. He let out a sigh as he put a cookie back onto the table. "When Parker started hanging out more and then he would ditch me for her and it became clear that he was in love with her, I felt jealous. Like, I had no reason to be jealous then I realized that I had a crush on my best friend. That's when I found out that Im attracted to guys and didn't tell him that because I was afraid that I was gonna lose my friend. I also didn't tell him that I had a crush on him because I didn't want to ruin my friendship with him, as welll.
Roxanne merely shot him a blank look then, knowing there was more than than he had let on. "Then maybe you should try tinder because a lot of people out there are looking for more than just a hookup nerd. Sex is fun but sometimes it's nice to have more." Her body twisted to get comfortable when it seemed like he was going to answer her, resting her chin on her hands and nodding her head. "I can understand that. I mean, you could still be jealous because that's your best friend and he shouldn't have ditched you to begin with but I getcha. So are you starting to catch feelings for him again?"
Ethan raised an eyebrow as he looked at Roxanne. "Like cuddling?" He asked, knowing what she had meant and grabbed the cook he had put down, took a bite out of it. He nodded as she spoke, swallowed his bite and shook his head at her question. "No. That left the station when him and Skylar got together. Its I dont wanna see him or Parker hurt." He replied softly as he angled his body more towards her. "Like, they're finally happy because they finally acknowledge their feelings for each other but I don't know?"
Roxanne chuckled, biting her lip. "Cuddling is nice, I will say that. But I mean that sometimes sex without meaning can get...exhausting. And not in the good way." She explained, knowing she would speaking from experience but she was never going to tell anyone that. "Sometimes you want someone to come home to, to hang out with. Someone who just makes it feel like everything is easy as soon as you're around them." She watched him eat another cookie, smiling at him and nodding along as she listened. "I get it but you also can't protect them from everything no matter how much any of us wants to. It's something they have to work through as a couple together. It's all about balance."
Ethan "I guess you're right, it does get exhausting." Ethan agreed and took another bite of his cookie as she talked, glanced over at her. "So basically like someone who's your home?" He wasn't for sure if he was understanding correctly and took a drink of his milk. "I know, but I feel like they're my children because of how I watched them in failed relationships, heartbreaks, breakups and now they're together." He rubbed his head some. "Its weird that they're finally together, like we've been building up to this moment and now its here."
Roxanne "It really does. I mean yeah, it's fun but unless you plan on doing it for a career and something to major in, I think it gets boring like everything else after a while." Roxanne remarked, half joking about it all before getting serious. "Exactly! Someone who's your home. My mom always said that she would be okay as long as she had daddy because he was her home. It didn't matter where we were because her home was always with her." She grabbed herself another cookie then, taking a bite and chewing while he spoke before swallowing and licking her lips. "That's so cute though. And hey, I'm sure if the time came, you'd be able to help since you've been there from the jump and everything."
Ethan "True." Ethan said and looked at her as she talked, as he prepped his head up. "That's awesome, and great to hear actually." He watched her grabbed another cookie and scratched his scruff. He nodded as he silently agreed, knowing that she was right and gotten more comfortable. "That's true and its not like they won't work out their own problems or anything like that."
Roxanne shrugged a little, smiling softly. "It is pretty awesome. I'm just hoping I find that one day myself. I mean, I'd be okay without having someone because you don't always have to be in a relationship to be happy but I'd like to have that with someone." She sucked on her bottom lip, nodding in agreement. "Exactly, especially if they're so close. It's nice that you worry though, in a sense. You're a really good friend, Ethan."
Ethan nodded as she spoke and glanced over at her. "I agree, I don't wanna end up alone." He admitted and nodded once more. "Yeah, it is since Im protective over Dominic. Was like that when he dated Sky. Thanks, I feel like I could be better friend but as along Im keeping an eye out on them then. Im a good friend."
Roxanne tilted her head then, thinking for a moment. "Hey Ethan. If we're both not married by the time we're 30, we should do a marriage pact." She remarked, settling down again against the couch. "I think you're a great friend but everyone feels like they could do better every now and then. It'll be fine though. You'll see."
Ethan "You know, that's actually not a bad idea. I say we should do it." Ethan said as he looked at her as she settling down against the couch and scratched his scruff again. "Thank you and Im sure it will, those two are crazy about each other."
Roxanne perked up then, looking over at him. "Yeah? Really? If neither of us is married by the time we're 30 then we get married." She held out her pinky to him then, smiling though she was really surprised that he had agreed to such a deal. "You're welcome. And thank you for coming over tonight. I would have been really bored, not gonna lie."
Ethan nodded. "Really." He replied as she perked up and nodded once more. "Sounds like a soild plan to me." He wrapped his pinky around hers as they did a pinky promise, something that he never took lightly. "You're welcome and I can believe that, actually. Its not my fault that Im the life of the party."
Roxanne could have cheered, making sure their pinkies were linked and leaning down to kiss her hand to make sure he knew how serious she was being. "Okay. I'm holding you to this, Ethan. I take promises very seriously especially pinky promises." She nodded her head with serious look on her face though a smile threatened to break through. "Totally the life of the party. Wasn't because I just wanted someone to cuddle with. Not at all."
Ethan matched her movements and kissed his hand before he pulled back as he kept his eyes on her. "I do too. Pinky promises are the most serious things in the history of making promises." He said with a straight face as he looked at her. "Pfft, that was an added bonus."
Roxanne hummed, utterly pleased by the turn of events and moving again to rest her head on his shoulder now that things had gotten a little less serious and a little more relaxed. "Oh of course. Added bonus definitely. Are you staying over for the night or do you have others that are begging for your company? Just a reminder that I claimed you first."
Ethan smiled as he draped an arm around her shoulders once she rested her head back on his shoulders. "Im gonna stay over for the night and nah, I don't have others that are begging for my company. Oh, I know you did, that's why Im not gonna leave."
