I had purple, pink, then blue hair for a while. I miss it, actually. I have a jaw too small for all my teeth so I had to wear braces (and a retainer, before and after). I got some form of metal contraption in my mouth between 12 and 16 (which uh, sounds terrible written down lol).

I met someone I was friend with online when I was 16, she was significantly older than I was and i ended up spending the day with her & two friends of hers in a flat somewhere in my city I didn't know... it was harmless, if a little boring, but looking back now that was NOT my wisest move 😅.

I am very lucky because I live on an island, so I get to enjoy the beach and the ocean (tho often a bit too cold to swim in ;_;), and it snows every winter so I also get to enjoy my favorite kind of weather.

As a child I was terribly car sick (can't be in a car more than 10 minutes without puking kind of sick), and the only way to avoid it was to sleep. So while I can now read in the car, I still automatically starts feeling a little sleepy in cars.

this is IT THIS IS ALL THERE IS. people this google doc started out as 3 pages long which is the longest i think a platinum checklist has ever been for me and now it is all but four things. my GOD. i can probably do this by tomorrow i'm ngl.

priscilla's dagger is a really tricky one to do i might have to ask someone for help or just get a lot more precise cos that tail is fucking tiny. but other than that we're golden. the titanite slabs are both easily acquirable, the red one is in lost izalith which i haven't been to yet but i'll get that up tomorrow, and the blue one is in the crystal cave which i've never explored that much cos the invisible floors always scared me but i'll just check a guide for that on and then that's all good. and then i gotta go into the next ng cycle and speedrun to sif and then to anor londo which hopefully shouldn't take too long.

cos the crest of artorias is super easily obtainable, and sif is really easy to get to so that's all fine, and then it's just ringing the two bells and making my way to the giant blacksmith. i think the only bosses i would have to kill would be uh. sif ofc, bell gargoyles, iron golem and quelaag. ye that should be it. four bosses. pick up two items, do some precise tail whacking, hop into ng+++ and kill four guys total and then that's PLATINUM.

after that the only two fromsoft games i'll have left are ds2 and bloodborne. and ds2 is on 88% rn i just need some dlc spells, but i'm not feeling ds2 so idk. bloodborne is on 35% rn which ik is abysmal but i'm thinking about taking that on next. i could not vibe with bloodborne the first two times i played it, i didn't even finish my first playthrough, but i'm hoping my completionist urge will force me into enjoying it much the same way it has for ds1. otherwise i'll just hit up the CUM dungeon and farm endless blood echoes until i'm so op i one shot everything. i mean dw i'll give it a more than fair chance before that, cos i'd hate for that to be the way i platinum a fromsoft game, when i've done the four i've already got with such dedication and care and thought, but if i just cannot wrap myself around it for whatever reason i'm gonna cheese.

problem i have with bloodborne is its level design and bosses. everything is painfully linear and the bosses are painfully bad. the only other one i've had doubts i'd be able to get into is ds1 and thankfully the level design is exceptional and there's still a good few bosses there, but idk what bloodborne's got. other than like just looking cool ig. which ye it does look cool but its a game not a painting yk. tho to be fair the main reason i continued through ds2 was cos it's whole style is so beautifully unique to all the other games, and visually it's a fucking buffet yk like wow. but then again it also had some interesting bosses. like the one that comes to mind immediately is the snake lady in the windmill, which i HATED, but come ng+ i heard there was a way to disable the poison pool she was in that also healed her, and it's by burning down the windmill. not even with a cutscene or a prompt iirc, u just waltz up to a ledge and hold up ur torch. and actually on the topic of torches ds2 did those brilliantly. everytime u found a torch u got 5 minutes torch time, and u could light it at a bonfire or a conch, and u could then go ahead and light conches later on if u found any. there's no torch item persay and that just adds so many beautiful layers to the games darker places. the questlines were also super unique, like for that one covenant that had u go into these dungeons to defeat a boss three times so u could max it out like that's just exceptional u don't see that in ds1 or ds3. or even elden ring tbh. i mean both ds1 and ds2 have their flaws, enemy ganking, not having and omnidirectional roll, etc etc but the parts where they're good are FLAWLESS. bloodborne idc just doesn't have that for me. and i really hope it proves me wrong when i get round to it yk. i forgot if i was making a point now or what it was but ye.

Arcana Echoes | Day 10: Cuisine 🥥🥘🌴

🌴 For this prompt, it was super hard for me to pin down which dish I wanted to use as the focus point for the fic. So I had to make a moodboard to really dive into what the trio ate during their childhood.🌴

🥥 Some OC flavor profile facts🥥

Kiping’s flavor profile typically includes foods that are salty, sweet, tangy, or a combination of the three. Between Ozy, Khleo and herself, it’s Kip that likes seafood the most. Some of her favorite dishes include tilapia, snapper, saltfish, and fried conch. She loves plantains all ways, all day. She’ll snack on the salty chips in the daytime and eat the softer, sweeter ones with her meals.

Ozy enjoys bold, savory, and meaty flavors, (like oxtail!) but only if he can pair it with something fresh, clean, and acidic (like conch salad). This preference most likely developed in his early years growing up in a wealthy family where it was routine to eat something cold and palate-cleansing before and after the main course.

Khleo tends to go for those uncomplicated, comforting flavors like cheese, bread, beans, and rice. They prefer fish and poultry over red meat. Most of the time, they don’t eat meat because they often find it too overseasoned or overwhelming in flavor. Their idea of indulging in meat is every now and then cooking up some chicken gizzards/hearts to add to their rice.

🥘 Moodboard breakdown🥘

Coconut Tart (Bahamian Style): This is the highlight for today’s fic and Kipling’s absolute favorite dessert. She doesn’t get to eat it that often because it’s kind of a pain to make. Kip enjoys the texture more than anything. The bread around the grated coconut is crumbly and dry, while the center is softer and a lot sweeter.

Black Beans and Rice: All three of them like this as it’s one of the most common side dishes. Khleo definitely eats it the most. They like to switch up the seasonings and vegetables incorporated in the beans.

Ackee and Saltfish (Jamaican Style): Kipling’s favorite dish according to her bio. Fun fact about the ackee fruit is that it’s poisonous if you pick it directly from the tree. It has to fall from the branch on its own before it’s safe to eat!

Curry Goat (Jamaican Style): This is one of Ozy’s favorite dishes. It takes a while to make, but for Ozy, it’s always worth the wait! Kipling is not a fan of goat and Khleo does not care for how deep the flavors go on this dish.

Guava Duff (Bahamian Style): Another heartwarming dessert from Kipling’s childhood. All three children enjoyed indulging in the duff!

Powder Bun (Belizean Style): One of Khleo’s favorite things to eat for breakfast. In fact, if there was enough powder bun left over, Khleo would take as many as they could and eat them over the course of the day.

Boiled Green Banana: Ozy won’t eat it. Even with salt added, there’s a level of blandness there that he can’t get past. Kipling only eats it with her ackee and saltfish. Khleo, however, will happily eat boiled bananas plain, sometimes cut up and mixed in with rice and beans. 

Conch Fritters: All the kids enjoyed this common staple entree. You can pair it with a variety of sides or just eat it as a side or an appetizer!

so I have a question. what exactly is your Sonic Lost world rewriting idea? it dose sound interesting and a breath of air to the other rewriting ideas of the sonic media?

Ohoho, I’m glad you asked :3

A lot of rewrites I saw involve taking just the core parts of the game/story and then the writer going hog wild with their own ideas. Which is fun, but not what I want to do with Lost World.

You see, I think Sonic Lost World had a lot of good ideas for its story... but it was terribly undercooked. I don't remember where I read it, but apparently because of complaints about the long cutscenes in previous Sonic games (let's admit it, Unleashed is a sure offender of that) SEGA decided to cut back on them and you can really feel it in the recent games. I don't think outside of the intro Lost World even have cutscenes longer than a minute. And that's a detriment to the story. I have mentioned it once, but the scene that's after Eggman's "death" where Sonic tries to contact Amy and Knuckles to no avail could have been so powerful, if it lasted for longer than 10 seconds. So this is what I'm aiming for: expand on the story that the points that were supposed to be emotional actually have an impact.

I haven't figured everything out yet (I honestly don't know what to do with the zeti yet) but so far these are the things I want to expand on:

Giving a little lore behind the Lost Hex and the zeti. Not going full Tolkien on them of course, I just would like to sprinkle in some explanation of what is the place and why it's like the way it is etc. This is also something where I would put a little tension between Sonic and Tails throughout the story. Tails, fascinated by stumbling upon a place of legend, is constantly trying to look up info about the Lost Hex, but Sonic is focused on saving the animals and stopping Eggman and is not listening/asking Tails to save the loredump for later. This isn't the main tension between the two, it's more of just comedic element, although it will lead to some problems later (see next point).

I would like to also expand the moment when Sonic yeets the conch and the zeti break free from Eggman. So it's established for Sonic that he hates oppression, right? So what if when he and Tails stumble upon Eggman using force on the zeti, Sonic's first thought is that maybe the zeti aren't on Eggman's side (he's right on that one). This takes place after Colors, so it's not the first time Eggman enslaved an alien species. So Sonic acts on the basis of "the enemy of my enemy" and hopes that he can work with the zeti against the doc (he was wrong on that one). Tails of course, already reading up on the inhabitants of the place and sensing in that moment that something isn't right with the electronics, tries to warn Sonic, but it's a moment too late. Don't know if I will actually keep this, but I think it would be a nice in-character moment and not just Sonic acting too quick.

The conflict between Sonic and Tails. Everyone's favourite (not). Yeah, I decided to keep this because I want the challenge of making a believable buildup for it. It's been a while since I've watched the game's story, but there is a scene where Tails tries to fix Cubot by putting his head on an Eggpawn(?) but the other robot's aggressive programming almost gets Tails hurt. I'd put that scene somewhere early to show that while yes, Tails is capable of working with Eggman's machines, however the doc is the one who knows exactly what makes them tick and turning off the unfinished world-lifeforce-sucking machine ASAP is a top priority, whether they like it or not. I'm still working on the details for this.

The two scenes that are supposed to be emotional: the one where Tails gets captured and the one mentioned earlier where it seems that Sonic had lost everyone. They need to be impactful. I'm actually working on a comic for my rendition of one of the scenes, I may actually get around finishing it someday.

Actually showing that Tails wasn't turned into a cyborg. Like they couldn't even put a single line to explain that smh. He turned off the machine's programming an made a convincing costume with it. There, fixed.

One thing that I'm keeping is the personalities of the zeti. I don't want to make them overly serious, I think they were one of the stronger comedic elements in SLW (I know it's not a high bar, but still).

This would be all so far. I'm not sure if I'm ever going to go for a full rewrite or just making smaller concepts, but I think it's a fun thing to experiment with :)
