do you think kuraneon is gonna be canon in the official hxh universe and what must have happened?

Whether or not they would be canon is up to Sir Togashi himself. While he does have romantic elements in his previous works like Yu Yu Hakusho and Ten de Showaru Cupid, it's not as explicit in HxH (e.g. Meruem/Komugi).

If you asked me this before knowing about the KuraNeon Marriage Theory (will give a link in the reblog later on) and KuraNeon paired up in mobile games, I would have said "0% chance" because we do not see them interact on-screen (even if I had shipped them since I first laid my eyes on Neon).

However, it is kinda sus that Kurapika became a Nostrade Family Young Boss; with Light and Neon nowhere shown. The more "accepted" theory is that Light is unable to continue and Neon is dead (although I do have rebuttals about Neon being dead - that's another conversation). I do wonder why he had to keep their mafia family name - there is no reason to if he truly let them wither. But from Light's last appearance in a manga panel, Kurapika did reassure him that he'll handle everything and you see the Nostrade mafia family organisation doing well under Kurapika. Which is also why my friend went to bring up that plausible KuraNeon Marriage Theory.

I know that a lot of people think they don’t interact, but that is on-screen. After York New City arc, we don’t see Kurapika until way later, however him being in charge as the Nostrade Boss indicates that he stayed with the Nostrades. God knows what they did while living under one roof.

Another thing that is major sus is the mobile games. Even non-shippers are baffled why KuraNeon is a thing. Kurapika and Neon are seen dressed as Hikoboshi and Orihime in two sets of the mobage cards; a romantic couple that is known in a Japanese legend and celebrated on 7 July (Tanabata Festival). They are even shown writing on coloured papers in one of the cards + Kurapika holding a bamboo - these coloured papers are used during the Tanabata festival where wishes are written on them and hung on bamboo. It is believed that the reunion between the two lovers Hikoboshi and Orihime are so joyous that they grant the wishes of the people. As far as I know, the only pairing that gets to have a Orihime/Hikoboshi theme in their cards is Machi/Hisoka; and we do see Hisoka/Machi having a soft spot for one another in canon (in the current arc, Machi does patch him up after his defeat and Hisoka spared her).

Hmmm.. I should make a post about this whole Tanabata thing actually. Asides from that, they are also the v-day banner in 2019 for the games and she gave him a cake during the valentine’s day event, to which showed a scene of him thinking about what to give her back (and low and behold, Kurapika’s White’s Day card featured him with a gift and him wearing the same outfit of the scene where he thought about what to give her).

In a separate mobile game, they have a special attack together. Their mobage cards have identical backgrounds and themes. Therefore, it isn’t just one mobile game that does this. It makes me wonder why the official team devs do that when this pairing shipping sub-fandom is really small and many even dislike it.

Even as a shipper, it also baffles me why devs do that when they have little screentime together (gotta be more objective here). If you do consider the KuraNeon Marriage Theory or consider that they might end up together in the manga, it makes sense why the official hxh game devs pair them together. And I am unsure about the source - but I think for Japanese manga production of non-manga material, you need approval from the writer? All the more to be suspicious of the mobile games that contains KuraNeon above every single pairing out there.

Hence, if you ask me, there is a chance of Kurapika/Neon being canon. How that might happen is a little tricky and depending on the type of portrayal they will be (I have four interpretations of this ship on my pinned post lol).

I’m not sure if you only define canon as the vanilla/romantic type, or it also includes one that is a little twisted. I've noticed that hxh has friendship and family dynamics that are already complicated and not as wholesome as one would think. I do believe that if KuraNeon were to be canon, it would be the latter interpretation.

There are actually a few things that are needed to be considered for it to happen: 1) Neon’s fate - she needs to be alive (or maybe not) Now, a lot of people believe she died because Chrollo’s book speculates that she does. However, we don’t see her dead body. It’s literally just Chrollo’s interpretation. This is contrasted by Kurapika that states that the previous Scarlet Eye owners did not need to be killed (and the “daughter of a mafia leader” is one of them). If the daughter of a mafia leader is truly Neon, then it brings a question of who should you believe more: Chrollo or Kurapika? (Imo it’s super interesting how these two guys who are enemies have different narratives on the same girl).

Of course, there was this potential discrepancy I found while re-watching this arc. The Scarlet Eyes that Kurapika bidded for 2.9 billion was a fake. They thought it was stolen when Squala took it with him and died - but it was actually that Kortopi’s Gallery Fake copy disappears after 24hour. So technically, the Eyes is with the Troupe. Now, assuming that Togashi has not forgotten this detail (I believe he still remembers), I do think that it is possible that since Chrollo is the type to get bored of the stuff he steals, he will just sell it and it will be obtained by the later owners. As for “the daughter of a mafia leader”, I’m sure it’s Neon that Kurapika is referring to - be it him mentioning her as merely a previous owner despite the set of Scarlet Eyes being “stolen” or she bought another set. (There is a chance that is not Neon, but another daughter of a random mafia leader, but what are the chances of another daughter being like that?)

I guess I just wanted to point this detail out because many people readily believed Chrollo’s book (it was not even himself). He stated that he did not know when it disappeared.

As for that “Hisoka killed Neon” theory, while it is believable and interesting, the only thing that is doubtful for that is that a) Hisoka could not have gone off to kill Neon in such a short period of time, b) that would be an insult to Kurapika’s capabilities if she was under his care, c) the fortune-telling ability doesn’t bother Hisoka. Pakunoda and Hisoka had a short conversation about the fortune and both of them acknowledged that the future changed. Hisoka wrote over his fortune despite having a good one to manipulate the events in hopes of fighting Chrollo - that is an indication of his belief that he writes his own future, and therefore which is why I argue that the fortune-telling ability never bothered him.

As for the “Kurapika killed Neon” theory, I think... they all need to get one thing straight about Kurapika: as much as possible, except for the spiders, he doesn’t kill (or at least dislikes to kill). He stated that none of the owners had to die even if two preferred to die. If there’s a way, he will not shed blood. Besides, Kurapika doesn’t actually hate Neon - contrary to popular belief. There wasn’t a single manga panel that indicates his hatred for her; or even annoyance. It was only the time where Mellody mentioned that he will kill her if she stands in the way, but Kurapika, as much as mentioned before, doesn’t kill if there is an alternative way.

I have yet to fully explore possible reasons why Neon’s ability disappears from Chrollo’s book if she’s still alive (my friend thinks it’s related to Kurapika’s dolphin ability). However, there are many rebuttals to the theories on how she died.

But yeah, I think for it to be canon, Neon has to be alive. Unless... they were already canon and he sailed to the Dark Continent and she died slightly before that event (tbh I rather not have this).

2) Kurapika’s fate - he needs to live

Number 2 is a condition is if they aren’t canon yet before he sails to the Dark Continent.

One thing that confuses people is that they think that just because Kurapika is under the Kakin Employment, it means that he is no longer affiliated with the Nostrades. The Kakin Employment contract is temporary - he is still affiliated with the Nostrades (and their business is bodyguarding, take note). As for him being in the Zodiac, he is still the Nostrade Family Young Boss - being part of the Zodiacs is like some political committee.

I know there are rumours (I say rumours cause I don’t see the interview script by my own eyes) that Togashi once indicated that the Phantom Troupe and Kurapika will all die. I do think that Togashi can kill one of his main characters, but there’s one thing that makes me question whether he changed his mind: Nitro Rice from the Dark Continent.

The Nitro Rice is a thing in the Dark Continent that prolongs one’s life - a direct solution to Kurapika’s Emperor Time problem. I think if he does last until they reach the Dark Continent, he has a chance to prolong his lifespan that he has lost while using Emperor Time.

Now, if he indeed gets to survive, manages to complete his mission, there’s another problem he will face: a will to live. Because currently, all he has ever lived for is bringing justice to his clan. Beyond that, what can he live for? Which kind of makes the ending for him to happily live with someone (be it his friends or having a family) a suitable one.

3) Neon’s development

Neon is seriously misunderstood among the fandom - even her personality. I’ve seen a lot of Kurapika x (other character) ships where Neon is the 3rd party in fanfics; and it is a one-sided love.

However, Neon is actually an emotionally detached person while Kurapika is the one that gets attached to people, even if he initially avoids them. Neon has what psychologists will call “Avoidant-Dismissive Attachment Style” while Kurapika has “Avoidant-Fearful Attachment Style”. This is rightfully so due to their different backgrounds. I actually believe that between the two of them, Kurapika will be the one who falls first or if this is one-sided, Kurapika is the one that likes her because of their attachment styles.

Neon has zero friends, is materialistic and lacks sympathy for dead people (the complete opposite of Kurapika). She believes in focusing on the present and the living (it’s actually a pretty good principle to live for). She needs to learn how to be more attached to people and learn compassion - which she actually is seen as being capable of. She was surprised that Eliza broke down and cried, and even forgo bidding physically. I think this is an indication of her starting to feel sympathy for people and perhaps being more mature - cemented by the fact that she lost her powers.

Therefore, I do think she needs to learn how to warm her heart up to people (which she might have already started to after the York New incident) if she were to feel something for Kurapika.

4) Kurapika’s view of her

Okay, this is one factor that is either you take it the vanilla way or the kinky way lmao. I actually wrote a Cognitive Dissonance Theory for Kurapika on my Tumblr post for this one (will try to link it in the reblog).

Kurapika’s initial belief is that flesh collectors are scums who should be arrested, yet he is surprised to see that his flesh-collecting employer is a girl of his age. I think there is already dissonance in his mind there once he met her.

Contrary to popular belief, Kurapika doesn’t hate Neon (there’s no single manga panel that ever once showed he detest her or feel annoyed with her; as compared to other employees of hers). In fact, he does quickly understand that Neon is being exploited by her father - to which he corrects Basho about the situation. In the manga, when he woke up after the fever, he says her name (in the 2011 anime, it was “Boss” but in the manga, it’s “Neon”) and immediately asks about her; which indicates that he is concerned for her. Of course, she is his employer but in that situation where he is bedridden and not working, him asking about her won’t be just due to him working as a bodyguard.

However, this doesn’t show that he has feelings for her. It only proves that a) he doesn’t hate her, b) he does care about her. He needs to see Neon as more than just a flesh collector for him to like her; on top of spending time with one another. He needs to see (if he hasn’t already) that she is a girl his age that has a different predicament than him.

This is the vanilla way I guess.

The darker and more saucy interesting interpretation would be him thinking it’s okay to objectify her just as much as she objectifies his clan’s eyes (that’s another post I gotta do for another day - but hey, this interpretation is paralleled to Tserreidnich/Theta).

5) Spending Time with one another

I think as mentioned, it is already a given that Kurapika and Neon had spent time together under one roof off-screen while we see Gon and Killua on-screen during the 3 arcs. However, I think Neon cannot suddenly become less detached and Kurapika cannot want something more than his mission at the moment; so I do think that even if they had spent time before Dark Continent Exploration arc, Neon and Kurapika needs to spend time together after he comes back (that’s if they haven’t banged before he sailed to the Dark Continent like they did in my fic lmao).

So yeah, I think these are generally the five things that I think should happen if they were to be canon.

I don’t know why I was compelled to do a long-ass post of this, but I hope this answers your question. I can go on and write a report about this but Imma stop here for now.

What’s not helping is Leona being very controlling of him, partially because he’s projecting his ideas and dreams onto the poor kid and partially because he’s not ready to be a parent by any account.

He will not be able to attend Night Raven Collage properly, for some reason. Apparently it has something to do with the Mirror.

Isn’t a particularly subtle person to begin with, but as Richard, he goes FULL HAM!

Doesn’t really get pop culture. Whenever a student calls him out on it, he claims it’s “beneath him.”

Jamil hates him, due to perceiving him as attempting to replace him Vice Dormhead. Barry, for his part, didn’t intend to come off like that, but decided that it was in-character and went with it.

Has had more than his fair share of near-death encounters. As a result, nothing phases him. Nothing. Not even the Chaos Trio on Karaoke Night.

Is often seen sneaking sips of coffee on-duty. He’s typically looks so tired that everyone let’s him get away with it.

Takes time out of his vigilante schedule to fulfill some of the requests he overhears at the Mostro Lounge. Azul suspects he might be doing this, but doesn’t know how and can’t be bothered to look into it.

Know about Barry is looking for him, but since he hasn’t figured out the constantly tired fox who tends to go missing at night is probably Neo Robin Hood yet, he’s not too concerned.

Can you please do some headcanons Ultimate Bodyguard Nekomaru, Police Officer Mahiru, Guitarist Gundam and ???/Forensic Investigator Peko?

I have lots of Talent-Swap Requests in my Inbox, and some of which seem like they may be from the same person (although I might be wrong, it’s fine if it is, though!) so I’m going to split them up into parts and post them on different days. So, this is technically PART 1!

Talent-Swap AU: Ultimate Bodyguard Nekomaru Nidai, Ultimate Police Officer Mahiru Koizumi, Ultimate Guitarist Gundham Tanaka and Ultimate ???/Forensic Investigator Peko Pekoyama!

Ultimate Bodyguard Nekomaru Nidai

Nekomaru’s personality makes him aperfect match for a bodyguard. He is boisterous and selfless, more than willing to put others before himself.

When he was young, he was told he wouldn’t make it very far in life. Nekomaru isn’tthe most intelligent student but he has a fiery personality, driven by passion. Hewould often get mistaken for an upperclassman, or even an adult, when he wasstill young and many people didn’t take him as seriously because of this.People also assumed that he was held back due to his appearance, which simply wasn’t true.

Giving into the pressure, Nekomaru dropped out of school and began working at several odd-jobs – Coaching, Construction, things like that.

He got offered aposition as a Bodyguard even though he didn’t meet the age requirement, based on hisolder appearance. Since he was desperate for the money, he kept his trueage a secret and took the offer.

Of course, Nekomaru couldn’t hide this secret forever and ended up getting caught.Once he was discovered, instead of getting fired he was transferred into Hope’sPeak Academy as the Ultimate Bodyguard.

You see, the man he was hired to protect was the Headmaster of Hope’s Peak, whomNekomaru had grown close to. He wasn’t even sure who the man was since specificdetails about their clients is kept a secret, but he was such a successful Bodyguardand cared enough about his job that he was considered to be the best of thebest and in high-demand, plus his age only influenced this decision. To be such a successful Bodyguard at such a young age was unheard of!

He may seem intimidating and aggressive, but he was actually kind at heart.Nekomaru had a secret soft-spot that many people didn’t get to see, and he suppressedthat side of him from his clients since he didn’t want to be a ‘soft’Bodyguard. For once in his life, people took him seriously and his age worked in his favor.

When the Killing Game started, Nekomaru was one of the first skeptics. It didn’tfeel real until the first murder occurred, and ever since then he vowed to protectthe others.

He was especially drawn towards protecting the females – not in a weird way, butbecause that’s what he felt like he needed to do; it’s what felt right. Nekomaru’s personal life-motto was to protect those who cannot protect themselves, and that’s an ideal he would take to his grave.

He would be the type to give up his life to protect someone. His true emotions were uncovered and his softer, more compassionate side shined through when he vowed to keep the others safe.

Nekomaru wanted nothing more than to end this unforgivable situation, although he wasn’t very helpful during the Trials or Investigations. He contributed as much as possible, but regardless the other Ultimates continued to look up to him for his selfless personality and life-goals.

He also developed a hatred for the Mastermind, or whoever was responsible for this Killing Game.

Ultimate Police Officer MahiruKoizumi

Mahiru has always been a sensibleand determined young woman. When she was a child, she never envisioned thatcrime-fighting would ever be the route she took in life. She more-so wanted to be a public speaker or an activist of some kind.

Her father worked in law-enforcement, though, and encouraged her to give it a shot. Within his experience and stories, Mahiru found inspiration. She had seen how he was able to help so many families recover from tragedies and gain some peace of mind, and realized that that was all she wanted to do in life.

Mahiru passed the Police Academy entrance exam when she was much, much younger than the other cadets. Due to her age and the fact that she was female, which was the vast minority among the cadets, as well as her father getting her into the Academy by sheer luck, many of the others doubted her. This, of course, only fueled her intense desire to succeed and prove to them that she would be able to become an amazing Police Officer as well.

Mahiru loved proving others wrong and was used to others doubting her abilities as a child; there has never been a more successful moment in her life than when she graduated at the top of her class, despite everything everyone said.

She was able to easily coax her suspects into handcuffs without having to try, and had an alluring personality that made them listen to her and turn themselves in.

She used her position as a Police Officer to protect civilians, since that’s why Mahiru got into the profession in the first place. However, she also found herself working with young kids and juveniles, doing her best to act as a counselor and guide them into the right path. Mahiru has a perfect track-record of helping young kids clean their lives up.

But most of all, she is outspoken, courageous, and definitely not a pushover. Mahiru has all of the qualities necessary for a good Police Officer, and her entire community adored her. She seemed like their local hero, and that’s why she gained her Ultimate title.

In the Killing Game, she was much more hesitant to reveal her status as a member of law-enforcement. She didn’t want one of the others to paint a target on her back and be viewed as a threat. Mahiru was in top-physical shape but that may not be enough to stop a determined killer.

She simply assisted with the Investigations as much as possible, working alongside her foster sister, Peko Pekoyama. The two girls were an unmatched team and due to their backgrounds, were able to crack each of the murders with ease.

It pained Mahiru to see her friends fall victim to the senseless Blackened. Her willpower and strong sense of justice was clear during the Trials and she wouldn’t stop until the proper killer got what they deserved. Her experience with Court Room settings seemed to play into her advantage and Mahiru felt extremely comfortable, even when trying to uncover the Blackened. The Executions never bothered her either, and at times she wished she could be the one serving them justice.

But those dark thoughts are exactly what started to get under Mahiru’s skin. Was this Killing Game really turning her into a monster?

Ultimate Guitarist Gundham Tanaka

Gundham grew up with a lonesome childhood. Ever since he was very young, music was his outlet for whenever he was feeling societal pressures. It provided him a place where he felt like he belonged, without fear of judgement.

He had a sickly mother and didn’t bring people over to his house or tell them about her condition because of this. He was also perceived to be a loner-type when he would rush home after school everyday to go to her; due to their perceptions, Gundham eventually adapted the lonesome personality that other’s seemed to bestow onto him.

He always had music to rely on, though, and his favorite instrument had always been the Guitar. He would often play music for his mother, since that was one of the only things she could truly enjoy anymore.

Unfortunately, Gundham got kicked out of his school’s Band for being too eccentric and having asuperiority complex over the other students - which was partially due to his many years of being a reject and having to do everything on his own. With that said, he isn’t a badkid. He may be a bit delusional but a lot of that is an act, because he truly does want to form close bonds and friendships with others.

Due to his independence, Gundham had a lot of free-time to practice the Guitar. His superiority complex flared up again when he became determined to show everyone that he was a phenomenal Guitarist, and shouldn’t have lost his place in Band.

Gundham soon became the youngest student to ever get accepted into an All-County Band, which was supposed to be reserved for adults. His audition was far too impressive to pass up, though, which is what really put him in the spotlight and gained the attention of Hope’s Peak Academy.

With that, he was able to finally show his school what he was truly worth, his attitude worsening as he thought he was ‘too good’ for the others now. This is where Gundham’s Dark Lord or God complex stemmed from.

His music also attracted the attention of animals and almost put them in atrance. He loved sitting outside in nature and strumming along on his Guitar - gaining their friendship almost like a Disney Prince. Despite his personality, he did have a soft spot for animals.

At the start of the Killing Game, Gundham went into denial and didn’t trulybelieve that this was real. He tried playing music for the others to relax them, but that only worked for so long.

He wouldn’t be so easily swayed into committing a murder and was a productive member during the Class Trials. Although, his complex personality caused him to become distant, not wanting to get too close to anyone else and fearing showing vulnerability.

Gundham’s only real reason for wanting to make it out of here was to see his mother again, whom he became increasingly worried about as the Killing Game progressed.

Ultimate ???/Forensic InvestigatorPeko Pekoyama

Peko hasn’t had the easiest life,to say the least. When she was a child, she lost several family members to theJapanese Mafia, and when she was in her preteens she finally connected thedots and realized that her family was part of a shady business deal.

She became a very distant and cynical girl – especially when the Mafia murderedher parents and she was sent to an orphanage home. Her childhood caused Peko to develop a series of unstable mental disorders and she became convinced that no one would ever accept her into their lives.

But remarkably, and to her surprise, she was eventually fosteredby a family who’s father worked in law-enforcement and advised her to, “Use herpast and her hatred as fuel to bring these guys to justice.” Those words resonatedwith Peko and she promised to carry them with her for as long as she lived.

The family’s daughter, a redhead, ended up making it into the Police Academy at a youngage. Peko felt the pressure wanted to make her new foster-family proud of her as well, but knew that law-enforcement wasn’t her scene; that’show she was introduced to Forensics.

She gained the title as an Ultimate when she became the youngest person tobring a serial killer to justice using Forensics alone. She wanted to use hertalent to eventually track down the people who killed her family and do thesame to them.

She had a bit of a twisted mindset and knew it, but masked her true intentions and personality under the clever facade as a Forensic Investigator. Admittedly, she wasn’t the most sane person.

Peko viewed herself as nothing more than a tool for the Police Department. She developed a sense of competition with her foster sister and wanted to find a way to stand out, but often fell short.

That was her motivation for making it out of the Killing Game. Peko wouldn’tallow herself to fall victim in here and used her knowledge of Forensics tosolve the cases with ease. Of course, it would be just her luck to get stuck here with Mahiru as well, who always forced her way into the Investigations whether Peko liked it or not.

But she couldn’t let her thoughts get the best of her - Peko needed to make it out of here alive and not in a body-bag; otherwise, she would never discover the truth behind her parent’s untimely deaths.

However, Peko was intelligent and knew that if she revealed her talent then shewould become an immediate target. She faked having amnesia in front of theothers and kept her lips sealed, insisting that she didn’t remember her talent.

That was a boldface lie, but the only person who knew that was Mahiru, who was also hesitant to reveal her talent and for good reason.

If Peko wanted to, she could easily get away with a murder. Her knowledge of Forensics made it easy to set up the evidence and point towards someone else, and her credibility among her classmates drew suspicion away from her. She knew damn well that no one would suspect or accuse her of being the Blackened…

But she needed to stop thinking like that, otherwise she may end up doing something she regrets… and she can’t afford to put her life at risk.

so imma start it with this so it will be easier to understand the story and roles of each member.

also, this is how i see the members and how i fit them into the roles based on their mvs, and 127 from their regular irregular teasers yeah.

LEE TAEYONG - THE LEADER/BOSS

taeyong is one of the youngest leaders in the mafia world. his capability with handling a 21 member family, no one ever thought he could pull it off. ever since his father was framed and sent to prison when he was 18, taeyong was devastated and didn't stop from claiming his throne, reaching to the top of the food chain; building businesses, brutally killing and assassinating enemy criminal gangs, and even making alliances with most powerful mafias in the country.

he leads nct with an iron fist and makes sure everyone knew who the hell they were and what they are capable of doing. taeyong does not hesitate to put people below them into their place. taeyong's team work as normal business men by day, but a ruthless killing mafia by night. now they’re eliminating their enemies and traitors one by one, swearing by his grave that he will hunt the men who framed his father and crush them all into ashes.

JUNG JAEHYUN - THE UNDERBOSS

the boss' right hand man. jaehyun had known taeyong ever since they were kids, along too with doyoung. he's in-charge of the family in case taeyong goes out of country to handle their foreign deals and affairs. sometimes he also goes along with taeyong to his foreign business if the job is too big for the boss.

jaehyun is taeyong's most trusted among all the members, since he's in charge of receiving every single information there is to know. jaehyun is hard and stern when it comes to the family business, he ALWAYS and i mean ALWAYS fixes past issues and problems of the family to make sure taeyong focuses on the current ones.

jaehyun hates seeing his members either injured or defensless just because they're in positions where they don't do any physical damage to anyone; like the hackers and medics. this is where jaehyun loves to discipline the youngsters, they're kind of like his kids when he's training them. along with taeil and yuta, they train the young ones the art of handling guns and martial arts.

he makes sure everyone is prep and ready for anything that could happen.

MOON TAEIL - THE WEAPONS EXPERT/SUPPLIER

he may look like the soft type and the non violent type, but oh, do not underestimate him nor do not judge him by how he acts. his reaction time during duels is the most intense thing you'll ever see. guns, knives, or any weapon in the hands of this guy is known to be the most deadliest thing in the mafia world. taeil is the family's body guard, protecting them from any danger that comes. however, taeyong doesn't approve of this so he requests that he trains them along with yuta and jaehyun.

his hands are lighting fast. one moment your gun could be hidden in any place of your body, then next thing they're right onto the palm of his hands. taeil does not joke about his specialty, he handles them like they were diamonds and uses them with no hesitation. with taeyong or jaehyun's word, he kills. cold blooded.

“ your warmth keeps me at ease, touch me more. tell me more. you keep me from wanting to destroy you, to wreck you..”

KIM DOYOUNG - THE CONSIGLIERE

known to be nct's most intelligent member, and taeyong's right hand man. doyoung is always with him 24/7 in meetings and in private missions, it's like he's his royal adviser. doyoung is also the one who gives taeyong and the family information about who they are going to strike and what they're known for.

doyoung's additional responsibility is representing the boss and the underboss in important meetings both within the boss' crime family and with other crime families. doyoung is also the only one who can argue with taeyong and challenges him when needed to ensure subsequent plan is unbeatable.

JOHNNY SEO - THE STRATEGIST

his mind is filled up of blueprints of buildings and structures from missions, two-three glances of the layout; he memorizes and recognizes everything like the back of his hand. johnny would be able find blindspots, hideouts, and emergency exits easily during their missions.

along with doyoung, he is also only the one who can argue with the boss about the plans made to ensure that it flows smoothly and flawlessly. he also talks to taeil about what kind of weapons to use to have the advantage of the element of surprise or how brutal and violent the mission needs to get. johnny needs to be 3 steps ahead of their rivals. he needs to be more advanced in strategizing, so he works with jungwoo and haechan to look for weaknesses and more information about them.

NAKAMOTO YUTA - THE ASSASSIN (MARTIAL ARTS)

a deadly man with deadly intentions. japan's number one hitman joins one of new york city's deadliest mafia. yuta is a silent man. only speaking when spoken to. jaehyun says it’s the abuse that traumatized his personality to push himself to become better and to give positive and satisfied reactions from his bosses. yuta is ruthless and aggressive when it comes to doing business, even after, he goes to his room to shut himself and meditate.

however, thanks to the young ones, he’s become less uptight and less “anti-social” from the family.

yuta is also entrusted to run and handle their casinos, clubs, and oil companies in Japan, he handles the weaponry and investments within the businesses and transports them back to taeil and winwin. yuta recruits associates and trains mercenaries to give and transport them to other allied criminal gangs who are in need of protection. in addition to his jobs there, he’s still in the hitman business even if he’s join the mafia; taeyong says it helps yuta put himself back up, to help his people.

yuta may seem cold and stoic, but he’s not heartless.

MARK LEE - THE ASSASSIN (SNIPER)/HEIR TO THE MAFIA

his eyes are eagle like, he could spot and shoot his enemy from a mile away. mark is a silent man during missions, only leaves and talks once his job is done. focus is key when it comes to mark, he needs all of the focus he needs to make sure his assassination is flawless. he’s very aggressive but not as like yuta. mark collects a variety of snipers, thanks to taeil, below his bed- in a secret compartment. His personal favorite are long ranged, he feels like he has god’s eye stalking every move of everyone he can see in a far distant. mark uses that advantage to notify his members and warn them if they’re nearby.

mark lee is taeyong’s heir in their mafia business. his dear little brother. ever since their father was sent to prison, taeyong has been disciplining and also training his brother how to be mature enough to handle a vast family- half are even teenagers. mark is expected by the eldest to prove himself worthy of the family and to see true enough if mark can carry the family business and name into a dynasty.

LEE DONGHYUCK - THE EMISSARY/GAMBLER

his way with words could really trick you, very friendly with people. heachan likes to play with his victim for a little while before getting to his job. His technique is encouraging his victim to drink more of the strongest alcohol in the bar/club, then he’ll act as if he was as drunk as his victim is, after that he’ll become as friendly as possible- confusing their minds, playing a little bit of casino games with them, and once he has their full trust, he’ll start to suck up and get them to talk the information out of them. haechan loves it, after he’s done getting the information he needs, his rivals are starting realize what’s happened then he slits their throat.

now he hates it when his enemies start to figure him out, like they know what’s he’s about to do and they’re cautious about him. he’ll make a joke out of it then he’ll drag them into a janitor’s closet or a private room then call jaemin to help him. together they’ll force the information out of them; they’ll torture and make them beg their life until they give up.

“ darling i could keep going and going, but know that i am a very impatient man. so those pretty little lips should be able to spill words that i want to hear.... right now. “

DONG SI CHENG - THE FINANCIAL ADVISER

winwin will do anything to protect the mafia's money, his duty in this family is to ensure that they won’t go bankrupt, to make sure that they’re spending with a reasonable price. even if they’re a famous mafia, he believes that the money doesn’t just magically appear out of nowhere. winwin can’t handle the way they- specifically the youngsters, spend too much money on weapons they possibly don’t need and go to clubs, always reminding them that they’re not the ones making the money they have in their pockets. basically winwin is a parent towards them.

he also supervises the amount of money in the business, obviously head of the financial department. winwin makes sure all deposits and transported money are placed into their individual vaults and the company’s bank. winwin is also in charge of making money within dirty side of the mafia world; money laundering, selling illegal drugs, loan sharking, and extortion. along with the bosses of course.

KIM JUNGWOO - THE SPY/GAMBLER

the seducer in the team, he’s specialty of seducing women for information made him the best, haechan being second, man for the job. jungwoo heels them with his words and good looks- sure the others are good looking too, but they’re too obvious and stiff. jungwoo is an a-list actor, he’s flawless and leaves no information about himself to anyone; he has many covers and fake names for himself to truly hide who he really is.

unlike haechan, he doesn’t kill his victims. he hates harming women- all of them do. however, jungwoo just gives him to either taeil or yuta to do the job. he takes them to the mansion and drags them into their basement where the two executioners do their business, then jungwoo leaves.

“ baby i don’t wanna hurt you, i really don’t, but these two will. so start spilling your words or i’ll continue for them to torture you- and i can’t stop them when they start... “
