Or Pearl trying to figure out why Grian has a little leather cord with blue gems suddenly and why does he smell like magic? So Pearl tries to follow Grian but he’s just CONVENIENTLY TOO GOOD AT DISAPPEARING WITHOUT A TRACE. All the while Scar and Grian just have a terrible habit of disappearing to spend time together bc it hurts to be apart and their hearts can only ache for so long AUAUUGHHJJJJ- They just hold each other and run their hands through hair and feathers and trace freckles and scars and pray for a time when they can do that without being afraid :’) AHHAHAHA and then. Once they’ve been found out and fought to find each other one last time in secret (although they know it’s only a matter of time before the ones hunting them draw near and begin fighting again) they swear their deaths will be by their own hands, if only to have the last bitter laugh (oh god the poetry, its coming out of my BRAIN). They’re found embraced together, looking sweet and peaceful but gone nonetheless, and WOOOO their sides have the sense to at least realize how much they’ve fucked up because GOD DO I LOVE SUFFERINF AND ANGST WOOOOOOOOOOOO- (ok whoopsie didn’t mean to go so awful and angsty there I had to cut it up with a little bit of humor lulz) - um I suppose 🦀 anon??? i believe that will be it for me this year digital art-wise considering my tablet cord has had enough of my nonsense and now it's basically dead (tablet itself seems okay though so that's good... but its pretty old...) and also i'm going out of town soon so there won't be much time to do any drawing for a good while i think. maybe i should take my sketchbook though... guess i'll put some thoughts under a readmore

well... what a year. i should write about it on my neocities before i have to fly out. remember neocities? i sure didn't for a solid six months. hey, html is hard, what can i say? that aside, i'd like to thank everyone for the support this year. my blog grew quite a lot because i was drawing quite a bit of subway boss stuff and apparently that was a good idea. like, dude... i've just been having a prolonged brainrot episode and it's still probably going to keep going for a good long while. even larry hasn't distracted me long enough to not draw ingo and emmet for one day. even without submas art i would probably still be drawing pokemon stuff, unless i decide to be real bold and re-experience my great ace attorney phase (yes i had one (no i didn't post about it. thank god)) or something like that. regardless of whether my interests shift of my activity rises or falls, and whether those who follow me now stick around or move on, i'd still like to express my gratitude for your support. and not just to people following me, but to the people liking and/or reblogging my content and to those who will follow me in the future. without the feedback, i figure i would not be posting so much. funny little notification on funny little computer make the smooth little brain become happier brain, which is a "i want to draw" brain. the amount of notes doesn't matter overall, but it's nice to be acknowledged. i still do a lot of drawing that isn't shared here because it's just stuff i do for me, but its still pretty nice to be able to make stuff that is suitable to post and to see it actually get attention.

as for the plan next year, there might be some big changes in store for me yet. and i would still like to continue to draw subway bosses. but maybe i'll start posting some original content too (like i mean i have a tag for it and i kinda haven't been using it sooooooooooooo) and more frequent posts would be nice. maybe not once a week but just here and there. perhaps i'll share more sketches. i would like to acquaint everyone with my ocs, and maybe get around to rewriting their toyhouse pages which i took down to work on and never did WHOOPSIE DOODLES

okay i think that's enough, i have to save some of this for my diary on neocities like i said... see y'all next year AYYYYYY (im so tired)

I think I will probably just pass out after a whole because this whole thing is hurting my head and I think I just need to distance myself from him. I really enjoy the time I spend with him and our chemistry but having this lingering in my head does not feel good. I feel so alone right now and I am! I don’t have anyone I can talk to about this and I’m scared to talk to him about this because he’s not my boyfriend and I can’t just tell him, “oh yeah I don’t like the fact you’re doing this and that” like I would sound like some crazy delusional bitch trying to assert myself like that knowing he’s not my man.

hey besties <3 So I promised I would give a sunday night update on how the rewrites are going, and while it's not quite night yet I have a pretty good idea of how much left I have to do and how long it’ll take so I figured I would just post now.

ch32 is 95% done and could maybe be finished in time, but I really want to post the last three all in a row and ch33 is not really there yet. I also realized I’m not going to be home monday night to post anyways and tuesday is a mess (no way im finishing 33 before wednesday if I’m not done tonight) so I think the best course of action is taking a week off. That way I have all of next weekend to finish and everything will be super polished and ready to go!

Sorry it’s taking so long (and right at the end too whoopsies) but the re-written versions are already so much better than the original ones I had and I’m really happy with how they’re turning out so hopefully it’ll be worth the wait!

i wrote this bc i needed to project feelings whoopsies

also i figured i didnt need a warning for it since it's so commonplace for me but theres swearing. lune literally says fuck in the second sentence

"Are you sure you're ok doing this?"

"It's not like I have a fucking choice."

Lune's strained posture in front of her dressing room vanity said everything N needed to know.

"Sure you do, you-" N started to say, though his words were quickly cut off.

"No, I don't. Am I supposed to just walk onto a stage in front of a full stadium and say 'Sorry! Lulu's got a case of the feelies! Show's cancelled!'?" Lune replied, slowly sliding her head down until she was face down on the vanity. "This is my nightmare. I have to live with it."

N didn't say anything, he simply looked on from the couch with concern. He wanted to do something, but was aware how little she liked to be touched when frustrated. Suddenly, a noise caught N's attention - the door to the dressing room had been opened.

"Prep's good to go, we should be on in 10!" Colress said as he entered the room, clipboard in hand. He sat down on the couch next to N, giving him a light kiss and leaning into him as he made himself comfortable. "Is she still upset?" he whispered to his partner, looking on at Lune.

"Mmmmhmm." N muttered, leaning to take a look at the clipboard.

It detailed the concert's venue information, as well as the standard tour details.

Lune had always been a bit negative towards the idea of tours, but pressure from fans and media eventually cracked her stubborn attitude. It went well at first! But week after week in a new hotel, with prying fans and unfamiliar places, it all was starting to get to her. She'd done it before in her early idol days though, but this time it was different.

She'd been feeling like she was going to burn out for a while. Being fake and marketable was alright at first, Lune enjoyed it, even. Just like her highschool plays or Pokestar flicks. But then it started to bleed into her personal life - where she felt she'd become completely two-faced. She was either frustrated, angry, or exhausted most of the time she was off-camera from the stress of it all - but had to turn around and go back to her peppy persona at a moments notice. The game she started out of boredom had become a maze she couldn't escape.

She wanted the noise to stop. It reminded her too much of how she had to pretend she was a different person for two years. And then it spiraled, recalling... everything. It was too much noise. She wanted it to be quiet.

But in the lack of quiet...

"Shit." N said under his breath, as the sounds of Lune choking up filled the room.

It became evident to N and Colress that Lune was at her breaking point. She rarely cried, and only truly did so if things had boiled over past the point she could mask.

Colress got up from the couch, but N quickly grabbed his arm to stop him from approaching Lune. N figured that while she was crying, she was still pissed off - and would end up getting snappy at Colress's attempt to comfort her.

Even from her most beloveds, Lune had a history of attempting to deflect any and all attempts at comfort, not wanting to burden others or be perceived as weak. She'd attempt to assure her partners she was getting better, but... she really wasn't.

N and Colress were all too familiar with this, but their combined empathy still begged them to do something. It hurt so much seeing the woman they loved suffer, but all they could do for now was give her space.

Time ticked down.

10, 9, 8, 7 minutes...

Lune was still crying on and off, and her partners still felt helpless.

N was starting to get frustrated himself. He wasn't sure if it was too early to make the no-show call, and didn't want to make the announcement that Lune wouldn't be performing to a full stadium. But mostly, he was frustrated that he felt he couldn't do anything - that he hadn't done anything. What kind of boyfriend am I? - was the phrase that kept clogging his thoughts. N could easily stop a rampaging darmanitan with his compassion, but ever since 'he' repeatedly used Lune like a pawn, her emotions had become a puzzle not even N could solve. Or maybe he just had trouble understanding that some people need space when upset, and that he can't fix everything - either way, it hurt.

Colress felt similarly, but felt a bit more daring. Hesitantly, he spoke;

"Lulu,"

No response, aside from a pause in the crying noises, indicating acknowledgement. Even after boiling over, Lune's chaotic and noisy thoughts couldn't block out his voice.

"It's your show. If you're not comfortable with playing a facade anymore, by no means should you have to."

Slowly, Lune lifted herself up from her slump, and spun around in her chair. Her face was red, with strands of hair wet from tears stuck to it. She didn't look as angry as she did exasperated.

"And what?" she said, voice cracking. "Have the world find out I'm a bitch? That I'm not some kind of magical pop girl like they think I am?"

Colress didn't really think he'd get this far, and was at a loss for words. But as N flopped down over on his lap, Colress's train of thought was carried on by N.

"Well, yea." N said, stretching out his arms. "Who gives a shit? If they don't like the truth, they can fuck off."

"But..."

"But what? These people would follow you to the ends of the earth even if you were some kind of notorious criminal. They believe in your talent, I think they could care less for how you act." N paused, and fixed his posture a bit. He looked rather serious. "I think it's about time people knew the real you."

Lune just huffed and stood up from her seat weakly, and shambled over to the couch - where she promptly collapsed on top of N and Colress. Colress was quick to embrace her as she landed, as N nuzzled up to her side.

"Goddamnit." she groaned. "Who let you learn to speak..."

Colress chuckled a little, and was quickly jabbed in response by Lune before apologizing.

N just had a smile on, and kissed Lune on the forehead.

"We believe in you, Lulu." Colress whispered, ruffling Lune's hair a bit. "It's going to be alright. Just act how you want..." he continued, pausing briefly before he perked up a little. "Oh! Or, as an old friend would advise... you could use your frustration? I really enjoy when you let your more powerful voice come through - even just shouting into the mic works,"

"I always loved how you growl sometimes when you sing." N purred, moving to sandwich Lune more in a cuddle puddle between himself and Colress.

"Mmmmmmmmmshutup..." Lune mumbled as she dug her face into Colress's chest, partially using his shirt to dry off her tears. She let out a deep sigh, before leaning back on the couch. "...Alright. I think... I can try. If I just let go and don't think much."

"Do you remember some of the lyrics to that more serious collection you wrote? I feel like they may work better." Colress asked.

"Yea... and if I don't I can just make shit up and nobody will notice - I did improv, I think I can just do what I want."

"That's the spirit!" N said with a smile. "Do what you want."

The three cuddled a bit more before the 1 minute buzzer went off. Lune sighed once, and untangled herself from her partners. She got up from the couch and did a big stretch, and promptly noticed she hadn't actually gotten into her initial outfit.

"Ah, shit." She mumbled, wiping down her black tank top.

"Uh, quick, illusion it?" Colress suggested as his eyes quickly moved between the clock and his girlfriend.

Lune thought for a second.

"Mm... nah. I think I'll do what I want."

Lune ruffled her own hair a bit while turned to the vanity mirror, gave Colress and N a kiss, and headed out of the dressing room.

The lights on stage were almost blinding, and the crowd erupted upon seeing Lune. The pressure was on, but she took a deep breath and grabbed the microphone.

This was her game, after all - it was about time she changed the rules.

Diakko!Odyssey AU

Most recent update: 8/28/2020 I added the comic of them meeting and also wrote a little snippet under the Diakko section

Welcome all. This post will officially be my master post of the Odyssey AU which will be updated as time moves forward so that I can link all of my related art to it. Yes I will not be posting multiple separate Updates in text posts how it’s traditionally done, but instead there will be information with each art and then a link back to this post. This is to avoid clutter since I hardly post on this blog anyway so it wouldn’t be fun having to scroll through all of my “OH ALSO THIS HAPPENS!” to get to art. Also I keep changing my mind on a lot of things in the AU so disregard information under the arts anyway as I will be posting here what is actually relevant.

Another key thing: I will be avoiding spoilers as much as possible until they are either shown in art or stated explicitly like I do in posts because I am the absolute worst at surprises. But anyway fear not for spoilers. Things said here are things that should be hinted at/known already. (and also I hardly know anything but maybe I will in due time)

Without further ado..

Introduction

What is the Odyssey AU?

The odyssey au is an alternative universe combining both Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey and Little Witch Academia into this (very random) adventuring story that takes place in ancient Greece. I guess I can’t say that it’s random since one of my favorite things about both ACO and LWA is the ties/references to mythology with the former obviously more rooted in the mythology and the latter just fun easter egg references.

The general premise is that Diana is a misthios(mercenary) who travels with Akko, a shapeshifter, across Greece to find the answers pertaining to her origin.

The first art post: Diana and Akkoros

While living her life as a misthios, Diana searches for the answers pertaining to her origin and superhuman (described as “magical”) abilities along with Shapeshifter Atsuko, who commonly uses her powers for flight, but is not shy to switch to animals more suited for combat.

But I don’t know what Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey is?

That’s fair and understandable. Honestly my AU diverges a lot from the game so I don’t think knowledge of ACO is exactly necessary it’s just fun to understand the connections if you know them. Basically the key things you need to know from ACO as of now is:

Kassandra (the protag) is known as the Eagle Bearer because she has an eagle that is known as the “eagle of Zeus” throughout the game. And they adventure together and Ikaros (the eagle) can hunt n kill things and See things and tbh he’s rly just a cool eagle but not a shapeshifter or anything lol

Kassandra is a Mercenary (misthios) which is basically a for Hire fighter/person who will p much do anything for money (if they want to do it)

Kassandra is usually referred to a demi-god because of her powerful fighting abilities in which I mean yea she literally has powers and can blast people like a billion miles away (im jk but-)

Kassandra can tame animals (which ones depending on your skill level). You can tame uhh wolves, lynx, leopards, lions, bears. This is where my ‘shapeshifter’ idea began and it pretty much fit perfectly since Akko’s favorite spell is the shapeshifting one.

Other than this, the most important things to know for this AU is just,, general mythology,, I guess? Or history? General history of mythology and how people worshipped/acted in accordance to the gods. And I’m not saying im going to be historically accurate obviously, nor even mythologically accurate (if that’s even a thing lol), I’m just here to have a good time and enjoy my gay mercenaries while talking about gods/goddesses as if I even know (thankfully I have my gf who is way more interested in mythology than me to help me)

I’ve only played like half of the Atlantis DLC after beating the game so whoopsie. I honestly really wanna replay everything now that I have this AU just so I can focus more on details and what I can yoink.

Her goal is to find out why she has certain powers (which I have officially decided, finally...) that aren’t exactly human. Since being a misthios was an easy way for her to travel and make drachmae, she chooses to do it while on their journey. Dammit I came up with her lore but as per the rules of this masterpost I can’t write about it until it’s out smh.. Ah I forgot that I already spilled that she is a goddess/demi-goddess (haven’t decided which yet) so yea that’s the Tea.

Described as very beautiful, there are rumors of her that state she is a pathway to Elysium (despite many people not deserving to go to Elysium). She is also known for her stoic face and a red bird that follows her around.

Diana is only found smiling with Akko and keeps buying Akko clothes despite her outer grievances each time Akko destroys something.

Diana was there with her mother at Chariot’s speech/performance.

Akko is a shapeshifter who travels with Diana across Greece in search for her idolized Chariot. Trusting both Diana’s skills and powers, Akko decides that Diana is the best choice to help achieve her goal as they adventure together.

Orphaned at a young age, Akko is, at first, very unfamiliar with how exactly to use her powers because there was no one around to teach her. She uses a bird most often because it is her first and most skilled transformation, but eventually learns to use stronger animals over time. Also eagle-vision is much more useful to Diana when they’re scoping the grounds anyway.

Like all shapeshifters, Akko has a symbol on her neck that signifies what she is. Due to the high prejudice against shapeshifters, Akko stays an animal to avoid being known, and also does not transform in front of others unless to kill them. If she has to be a human, Akko commonly wears a hood to hide her neck.

Akko is one of the last shapeshifters to exist, and, despite Chariot being rumored to have finally been murdered, she still believes Chariot is alive.

Akko was with her parents when they all attended Chariot’s final speech/show and here began her dream.

Akko can use a dagger if she needs to.

Side-characters

Akko’s Parents: Shapeshifters who were murdered when Akko was a young age.

Chariot: A shapeshifter who somehow had a voice and power that even normal people listened to. Akko idolizes Chariot because, despite the hate against shapeshifters, Chariot was well known and was an activist for shapeshifters despite the danger upon her head. Chariot mysteriously disappears one day for reasons unknown, and everyone but Akko assumes she was finally murdered.

Shapeshifters

Shapeshifters are defined as humans who possess the ability to transform to any animal at will. Unfortunately, because animals were seen as less than human, shapeshifters were defined as “punished by the gods” and so many decided shapeshifters needed to be removed from the world for sin. This causes a massacre of shapeshifters to the point that they are instead a rarity.

Shapeshifters do not transform with their clothes, and so either destroy them or lose them depending on their transformation.

All shapeshifters have a symbol on their neck which is what is used to find them. They can also be found by their human personalities/characteristics when they are an animal.

If weakened, shapeshifters return to their human form and cannot transform until they are stronger.

Diana and Akko adventure together and do all of their quests together as a rag-tag chaotic duo. God I’m so excited for this section I wish I could make art FASTER but anyway:

They meet at about 17 years old but the main story takes place when they are 18+

The two get off to a wrong start when Diana saves Akko’s life. Because Akko is a shapeshifter, she’s high in value to kill probably by some cult idk but there is always a bounty on her head. When Diana saves her, Akko assumes Diana only did so to steal the drachmae from the original perpetrators, but Diana really just leaves her alone afterwards. Confused, Akko legit just starts tagging along LMAO she finds Diana interesting and so follows her and Diana’s just like what the fuck but eventually she gets over it. They become powerful assets to each other as Diana can now scope the skies with Akko and Akko is pretty much protected under Diana. Then when Akko gets much stronger Diana gets extra manpower and protection too.

Akko enjoys staying in her human form to spend time with Diana.

Diana keeps buying Akko clothes just because it makes Akko happy (and also, despite Akko uncaring because her transformations are so frequent anyway, Diana doesn’t want her to be naked??)

Diana is easily persuaded by Akko and puts Akko’s interests first (feeds her first, considers what Akko would want, etc.)

okay i promised id do it and im doing it: Explaining The Plot Of That AU I’m Vague About: The Post

(as i was preparing to write this i actually got my 250th follower, which slapped)

so i’m just gonna start with the simple version, which is this: it’s a rebel AU which primarily centers around the tallest, who are both defective. they give up on trying to make any meaningful changes as figureheads, and instead direct their attention to being involved with the “neo defect revolution,” or NDR. they do manage to make one change as tallest- there is a garbage dump planet turned into a sanctuary for defectives (who in this au are executed once discovered,) and eventually enough of the populace finds out about it that the tallest have to deal with it. they finesse their way into kicking it out of the empire, so now it’s its own planet with its own rules, governments, and most importantly, immigration policies and protections

a lot of stuff happens and it’s gonna be structured using arcs, and each arc has a separate protagonist/deuteragonist/tritagonist lineup (but that doesnt mean the same lineup won’t be used multiple times!) and yes the insane list of OCs are for this au alone: some arcs are very OC-centric, some have OCs as supporting characters, and a couple are all-OC or mostly-OC.

its going to be very longform and it’ll span from the tallest’s elite training days to twenty years after zim arrives on earth. (the 20 year gap btwn zim arriving on earth and the story proper isnt as tightly plotted as later tho.) the point is to see how a revolution on the scale of the NDR works, who was fucked over by defact laws, who was fucked over by other laws, etc. theres a lot of lore and a lot of headcanons i made for this AU and even a conlang. i am a being of hubris. itll be a series of fics, some multichapter and some oneshots.

the series as a whole is gonna be called Invader Zim: Annexed or just Annexed for short. its a pun on an irken word that sounds similar but means the exact opposite. i am not explaining more bc itll be explained in the fic itself. but thats why the tag for it is #anx lmao

i didnt mean for this to be as long as it got but under the cut im gonna breakdown some of the early arcs:

so it all starts with a fanfic called Love Is The H-Word (no the “h-word” isn’t “hell.) it centers around red and purple as elites-in-training, who do a little whoopsie and have an egg. purple doesnt wanna smuggle it into a smeetery, bc then he’ll never see it again, so they go to the defect sanctuary (still a part of the empire at this point.) purple knows he’s defective while red has a hard time accepting that he is as well, due to events from his past. but being around all these other defects are starting to wear down his denial, and the fic is all about that. it also sets up some plot stuff, like how defects adopted a self-identifier in the word “heretic,” hence the sanctuary being named, “heretirk.” (hey look my url!) (no, the “h-word” is not heretic, either.)

i dont wanna say what happens in that fic bc spoilers, but stuff Happens. its also when we meet some ocs that end up being important, and the existence of others are foreshadowed. this is also where we meet the tallests’ future advisor, rarl kove, for the first time, as a local who decides to keep them company. purple bonds with kove due to their shared interest in politics, while red reluctantly bonds with titch, a young irken (a smeet in heretirken standards, an adult in imperial standards- did i mention he and red are roughly the same age? lol) who is interested in military stuff and thrill-seeking and general destruction. titch is pissed because he claims his father is stealthing on devastis as a military commander, but won’t let titch sneak in as a soldier, as titch is deaf.

(fun facts: in the au, “titch” is regional slang for “a little bit.” ironically, titch the character is above-average in height.)

due to titch’s deafness, he developed “gesturespeak,” irken sign language, so he can communicate. this existing becomes important later

a oneshot called invade the system is right after h-word in publishing order. it details zim’s exploits in leaving foodcourtia, where he was assigned and infiltrating the invading academy he eventually graduates from (in this au, zim is too short to be an invader, which sucks because the hight minimums for the military are really short to begin with lmao)

the fic chronoligically after H-Word focuses on red and purple being back in their platoon on devastis, specifically red navigating his training and his relationships with two defective platoonmates, pon and zi (who are in h-word a little,) after the realization that he too is defective. it also focuses on how the irken military works, and how they train their soldiers.

the first arc overall focuses on red and purple going thru training and such, and ends after they graduate and are on the field, working to get commander rank. (they planned to gain commander rank then leave and go back to heretirk to train an army there, as heretirk has.... no army.) in the middle of this, they’re pulled out and told they are to become the next tallest. they debate over staying and taking the job or just running to heretirk, and they ultimately decide to stay.

the next arc i call the “bridge,” tbh. its less tightly plotted than the other arcs; fics are spread apart from each other chronologically and all that. it spans the time after the tallest being appointed to a little after zim arrives on earth. it also has a couple of anthologies focusing on imperial defects- each chapter is a new character. these guys are all important and the easiest way for me to introduce their backstories without cluttering everything up is anthology style, lmao. other things that happen are a look into how the tallest work, eventually culminating with the resolution of the tallest having to Deal With Heretirk, tenn’s rescue from meekrob, and zim on earth obtaining a half-irken smeet named pip due to stealing an Unethical Science Experiment from dib (which is pip.) the bridge is basically just. “heres some stuff that happens between point A and point B so when we get to point B you’re not confused as all hell.”

the next arc focuses on zim. in the first fic, pip is sick and zim is trying to get into his neighbor’s pants, to cope. this basically sets up that zim in this au has no idea how to find personal fulfillment in living- he’s only OK if he focuses on pleasing someone else, be it taking care of pip or doting on the neighbor, some rando human named piqu (pronounced, “peek.”) this is mainly a cute romance story with the underlying veneer of “a child is slowly and painfully dying” in the background. fun!

without spoiling the circumstances, zim and pip end up on heretirk, which at this point is its own independent planet. pip is in the hospital for most of it so zim has to do his own thing. computer fans rejoice bc hes basically zims dad at this point, who tells him to go outside and get some fresh air and talk to the locals instead of schmooping or screaming in anxiety. im sneakily introducing more characters like ini, the “next-gen zim;” a short bio-engineer (she works on PAKs) who was constantly passed over by everyone because they dont trust someone that short or they dont trust someone that spazzy, even though shes actually brilliant. also her brother mo, who’s a pilot that NOBODY will teach military-class ships to (at this point, HTK has a population of ex-military that had their old ships, but still no formal army) because he doesnt talk and they think hes “slow” as a result. for the curious, he is physically able to talk most times, he just doesnt like it. zim ends up teaching him how to fly military-class which ends up being important laterrr

(haha ini and mo. wheres meenie and minie? ILL GET TO THEM)

no really, theyre quadruplets. named ini, myni, minie, and mo. these are real characters.

minie isnt introduced till later. shes too cool to be the side character in someone elses arc. she is feel uncomfortable when we are not about her.

myni is busy palling around with pip and pip’s friend “elly” (real name elevenn, with two N’s.) elly is a half-meekrob War Crime Baby and tenn’s smeet. he has vision problems (he can “see” energy signatures of things, as opposed to conventional sight. everything is monochrome and he has to really focus to see like, words on a paper. also fuck tablets) but the trade-up is telekinetic powers (that he cant use too much or his brain will melt. fun!) this isnt relevant until the arc AFTER zim’s, where they end up poking around a historical site due to myni’s interest in that kind of thing, and they find logs of an old revolution (that was actually pretty successful in their goal, before they were caught and executed,) that lead them to a man named lefy. he helps with revolutions and helped these guys, and the trio go to seek him out; myni because he wants to impress his parents with helping them, pip because after they’ve recovered enough to walk around and do stuff, feel like they need to justify the choice to save their life and make their dad proud and all that, elly because he doesnt want pip to get hurt and die. And thats where the stuff REALLY starts happening and i cant tell u more sorry

this seemed kind of disjointed but thats bc i cant really be too detailed otherwise id like.... spoil it lmfao. but thats the summary of the first few arcs.

picked a whole bouquet of whoopsie-daisies the other day reading some Very badfeel content so to cheer myself up here’s some super self-indulgent ramblings about romeo recovery post-s2

“YOU CAN DANCE IF YOU WANT TO YOU CAN LEAVE YOUR INTERNALIZED MISOGYNY BEHIND” or how romeo learned to stop worrying and indulge in the ““feminine”“ shit in life

when romeo transitioned he scrubbed everything that could be potentially viewed as feminine from his appearance and behaviour. while he did everything he could about the former (hairstyle, clothing, body language, voice), it didn’t feel like enough bc he couldn’t change some things that ppl used to be jerks- his frame (short and lithe), his family, his being trans- so he made up for it by trying to “act” like a “real man”. this unfortunately meant he was super vulnerable to manipulative alt-right indoctrination tactics (”we will validate you as a man as long as you endorse our assholery and share our shitty beliefs about what it means to be a man”) and he was on the verge of getting sucked into gamergate ideology when [THIS LORE IS ANOTHER POST] and hey, now the world is minecraft. u dont gotta perform gender roles for villagers they dont care. xara will not only actually eat ur liver for pulling The Bullshit but when you are kind she smiles, so bright and warm, and it is very very nice so maybe you should keep on doing that. n fred? fred is chill with their Everything in a way uve only ever Dreamed of. romeo marinates in this sauce for a couple centuries and comes the closest to being comfortable in his own skin he’s ever been.

however,

after the Incident he slam-dunked himself back into the hypermasculinity juice bc it was a mindset “safe” from feeling pain, whether his or others’. n since the worlds the admins created dont have the same ideas of gender as the world they came from, once he’s been dethroned romeo has a particularly hard time adjusting wrt That on top of all the other 2750347502730 issues he has to face

anyway flash forward a couple months of being incredibly volatile bc he now has to confront all the terrible things he did and how Dare u make him do that and maybe if hes nasty enough he can provoke someone into killing him and saving him from having to unpack All Of That- (note from @simple-mooshroom-herder: Xara and Jesse at least grasp that Romeo will probably burn himself out on this bullshit eventually and the best thing to do is interact with him with a certain level of healthy detachment. Eventually he'll see that theres no "getting out of this" and he'll start to do the Work but until then its very frustrating to see that tactic take him nowhere.)

- one day petra notices how he’s constantly staring at all the ppl wearing cute dresses in beacontown and at first she thinks he's being creepy but then realizes that he's not being creepy and actually she knows exactly how he feels bc she also used to look at ppl wearing clothes super not suited for combat like that, like she wished she could wear them too, like if she just didnt have to keep up this image of the Warrior who is Not Soft Ever-

n ok. listen. these worlds have been specifically engineered to be better and kinder than the one the admins came from, and when people mess up- even REALLY mess up- people are generally not only willing to forgive you but support you as you try and get better. it’s instinctual for communities to respond to misdeeds with rehabilitation and reconciliation, rather than retaliation and renunciation (tho its not an overnight thing and it generally takes 1-3 people to spearhead the process, esp if the actions have affected a large group of people). like. ivor created something that almost destroyed the entire world, not just beacontown, yet by the end of season one he’s grown to be a part of the team- n its not just jesse & co being forgiving here, bc when ivor made his s1 build with 3 lava source blocks people objected to it, but by s2 he not only has lava in his build but a giant lake of it. (im assuming the fences around said lake are coming eventually, bc safety is still important, but the implications im choosing to take from this are a) despite almost ending the world people let him into their lives anyway and b) the community not only grew to accept but encourage his self-expression.)

BUT ANYWAY before i go off on that even more one day petra and romeo basically put on an impromptu fashion show in jesse’s house (bc their house is huge and, kind of perfect for a fashion show, and also right next to the order hall’s armory whence they stole a bunch of fancy swords to match the outfits) n theyre having a blast until the hero in residence , returns to their residence (and with COMPANY) n romeo is absolutely Mortified- caught red-handed showing feelings of an almost human nature, oh my god, this will NOT do- n this whole grand soliluquy of shame and excuses and apologies grabs the steering wheel of his tongue but he cant even spit a single syllable out bc jesse and lukas almost immediately dip leaving romeo panicking for a second before they come back with their inventories FULL of cute outfits, including a billion skirts and dresses, some of them are even enchanted so theyre like. super shiny or constantly flowing or things like that.

this actually ends up spiralling into a town-wide... not quite fashion show bc there's no runway or anything, everyone just shows up in their cutest/coolest outfits .. fashion convention?? Anyway several people come up to him and compliment him on his outfit casually before continuing along, not recognizing him not only bc of how hes done his hair and makeup n what hes wearing but he just seems... so happy (he might be wearing something on his head? like a headpiece or hat or something? but also maybe not hmm)- whoever this is, he's not hunched over like he's got several centuries' worth of sins crawling on his back he’s not trying to shrink and make small a human-shaped apology for the simple fact of his existence not dragging his feet like hes ready for, dreading, a hundred mile trek through the desert repenting hes just. hes literally just Vibing

anyway he's mostly been silent or just providing very quiet "thank you"s but when it turns out that some people showed up ready to play music and there's a song that he knows he literally cant help but start jamming out its the GOod Stim everyones a-dancing and a-jiving and some people start to sing and so of course he does too (the healing power of dancing and singing in cute outfits.... unfathomable) but. ppl recognize his voice

and after a few seconds he notices how quiet it's gotten all of a sudden n everyones looking at him like "oh shit thats the admin" and honestly his heart breaks. visibly

but

then someone starts singing, so quiet it takes a moment for him to hear over the sound of an encroaching panic attack (oh god he has airpods in), but when he looks over theyre smiling - theyre smiling at hiM???? AND IT DOESNT EVEN LOOK MEAN??- and doing this very simple step, that he catches onto just as easily as he matches their singing (its a fairly common little tune n dance)

theyre like standing like a good few meters away but as they take turns with lines in the song they slowly inch closer

and he thinks hes starting to recognize the dance that the steps theyre doing is from but at the part in the song thats coming up ur supposed to allemande left and even tho theyre like, less than a meter away now literally no one has really wanted to get close to him, let alone actually touch him, so hes totally expecting them to be like 'psych' and humiliate him in front of the entire crowd-

BUT THEN THEY ACTUALLY GO FOR IT???

he completes the step without even thinking about it n continues onto the next in this state of dull bewilderment where there is but one braincell active in his head and it is just going, in a very tiny voice, "danser?"

- when they linked arms the person briefly seemed surprised that he didn't like, chew their arm off or anything (he had. kind of snapped at people a few times during the past few weeks), but then their shock turned into a wide smile and they sort of- nodded? at someone over his shoulder like 'come and join us, it doesn't look like he's going to kill me after all you guys can put the eulogy writing on hold'

what rly makes his heart do the confused and hopeful conga is that this isnt even anyone romeo knows, its a total stranger. or- like- he saw them while he was pretending to be jesse he just didnt care to get to know them beyond ‘name and gimmick’- its not even someone who has any reason to think he'd be cool to befriend its literally jsut someone taking a chance on him (tkae a chance take a chance take a chance take a cha)

afterwards hes like "i should thank jesse for putting you up to that, it was fun" and theyre like "what? jesse didn't "put me up to" anything, dude, you just looked super choked. * something something surfer lingo who would i be if i just left someone to feel bad when they could be having fun dancing you know?*"

Hi Mittens, I have a question. Maybe you've already touched on this in the past, so sorry 😬 But was spn actually "supposed" to end after season 5? I see a lot of people saying that (often using it as justification on why the show should have ended 10 years ago 😒), and I'm just curious if there's truth to it. The history of the early years of the show is pretty straightforward, but it’s been built up over the years to a weird degree by fandom. I’ll start by debunking Kripke’s “five year plan” as if it was something that existed from day 1 as a set-in-stone story arc. I wrote this in reply to another post a few days ago (or, compiled might be more accurate, since it’s a lot of links to Kripke quotes and interviews):

Kripke has talked a lot over the years about how the vision for the series evolved, from a simple little horror show about two brothers driving around and confronting urban legends and ghost stories that just happened to be real, to the vast cosmology of the Supernatural universe we know today. I mean, it’s incredibly simple to realize that the “five year plan” couldn’t possibly have existed from the start because Kripke had said for the first three years of the show that there would never be Angels on SPN... until he decided there would be.

In the first season, there was a one year plan. They were HIGHLY uncertain whether there’d be a second season at all. Same in the second season. They were writing season-long arcs that could technically stand alone, you know? Then s3, with the writer’s strike, they weren’t even sure they’d get a 16 episode season, or if they’d become yet another victim of the strike season (a LOT of shows didn’t survive that, and Supernatural was TRULY on the bubble). 3.12 was very nearly the SERIES finale.

Kripke has said in MANY interviews that 4.01, and the introduction of Castiel, was the first time he truly felt like the show had achieved security, and he could feel confident writing s4 to an ending that would set up another season. Then at the beginning of s5, he planned to bring the series to a close... except whoopsie! The CW wanted MORE! So Kripke passed the reins to Sera Gamble and moved on... Who the heck knew that Supernatural had legs to keep going for another whole DECADE after that?

I started watching Supernatural back during the era of “ooh, will THIS be the last season?” And that was... season 7... so... they were still going year to year through about s10 when the network issued them a blanket pass going into s11, essentially, and that’s when the story TRULY started to open up to its full potential.

So while Kripke may have written s5 as if it would be the last season, that’s how he wrote pretty much EVERY season of his era, because they never knew going in if it WOULD be the last...

LIFE IS STRANGE 2 EPISODE 3

okay, so throughout the recent life is strange games i have made posts such as this one; I would make a bullet-point list of my ideas and thoughts of the game, certain little lines or details and shit. i did this for the farewell episode, i think before the storm (at least one of the episodes), and captain spirit. i tried to do this for life is strange 2, but Tumblr fucking killed itself when i tried, like i even restarted the fucking episode to redo it. so i don't think ive done these for life is strange 2, but honestly they're a lot of fun to rant out my opinions of the game and the little details and shit so, without further ado, here's this -spoiler full- little list.

also, little sidenote: i had no clue this was supposed to come out, i heard jack shit about it so like, the day after it was released i saw an article, googled it, and fucking died and felt so stupid. so anyways. let's begin.
