Now a very biased marketing of Aventurine ... (2/2) because I just gotta , sorry
AVENTURINE
pros : As a shielder , he can block incoming damage and help the team survive by not losing any HP in the first place. Preservation characters are so few imo because of how inherently OP their sustain mechanic is. Similarly to Fu Xuan, Aventurine doesn't need to use skill that much either, only when his shields' turn are almost up or when an ally has lost their shield. Because his shield Can Stack, it means that u can essentially keep gaining an even bigger shield everytime you skill or Aventurine does a follow up attack. He also provides effect res up to 50% for ALL ALLIES which decreases the chances of getting crowd controlled or debuffed with DoTs (which from my experience are super annoying, especially wind shear). Like I mentioned before Aventurine does a follow up attack every time his stacks reach 7 , which he can gain stacks from allies FuA and from all allies getting hit by the enemy (allies getting hit grants 1 stack while he himself getting hiy gets 2 stacks) (This follow up can also stack his shield up after unlocking a trace)
In addition to effect res, he also has in built CC protection like Fu Xuan does (except it only applies to him) and this isnt a Chance to resist like Luocha but a 100% will not get crowd controlled every two turns as long as he has his shield up.
Lastly, his ulti can debuff the enemy with 15% crit dmg received which buffs the team because now the enemy takes more crit damage damage ^u^
cons : no cleanse like Luocha, so if u do get debuffed u just gotta wait it out. Again though 50% effect res although won't prevent debuffs completely, it does reduce the chance to get debuffed so u don't need any cleanse in the first place. His other con is that he doesnt heal / restore lost HP like Fu xuan does but considering how his shields can stack and basically have infinite uptime its pretty dang okay and hes definitely worth it as a sustain. wait this js supposed to be cons. um.
his other con is that although he gets free crit rate u dont actually do high damage on him unless u build him to do high damage but like hes mostly a sustain so just build as much def% as possible so his shields r Beefy. Idk if its a Con Con per say but his technique to get the highest out of it is quite a gamble and his ult is only single target instead of Luochas aoe attack ult BUT it will usually do higher damage than Luochas while also debuffing the enemy and can reduce more tougness than luocha (90 instead of 60)
OVERALL : great solo sustain option, In my opinion more valuable than Luocha but then again the next limited 5* sustain tht comes out could definitely overtake him. In terms of Utility (aka buffs provided for allies to increase their damage output) as well as Great Sustainability id say hes on par with Fu Xuan, then Huohuo is slightly less powerful but still Very Great because energy regen and atk% is crazy and her cleanse is also OP, then lastly Luocha. Also I think his animations are fun and his sound effects especially his finger snaps sound so crisp and satisfying. I recommend going for Aventurine if you use follow up attackers like Clara, Jing Yuan, Topaz, Ratio, Yanqing and also characters who could be very squishy like Arlan who does better damage at Low HP. Aventurine can also work for damage over time teams if you use the light cone that lets him apply burn on enemies aka the Trend of Universal Market cone with Topaz and his face on it. Also if you're going for Acheron, Aventurine is probably her best sustain option atm because of how he can contribute her Ult stacks with his Ult debuff and help her damage output too although its already crazy asf.
YEAH thts it mwah mwah sorry for this long ass ask but i am going to be this guys marketer for a while i think
OHHHHH U MAY HAVE CONVINCED ME ... the lack of cleanse might b annoying but I rlly enjoy shield characters.... The lack of healing may be okay if I use his shields well and that fact that they dont gotta be replaced every turn is helpful.
Do u know if his shields go to the entire team or just one selected character? I gotta assume its the whole team but sometimes hyv suprises u
Luochas AOE seems rlly helpful but the question is if Aventurine's shields outweigh his lack of aoe.. Not to mention u said the ult usually does more damage than Luocha's which does help. It would rlly depend on who im facing, but I feel like even in boss fights a weaker aoe outranks a stronger singke target. Much to think about....

F2P Yanfei Build Tips
Tumblr media
I mentioned in a previous post that I really think pulling on the upcoming Zhongli banner is a great idea for newer players and especially f2p players that have been saving their primos/are nearing pity. This is in large part because the new character Yanfei is looking like a very good character to add to your roster if you lack a main carry or Pyro DPS character.
Pyro is by no means required in this game, but Mihoyo definitely favors it over the other elements. It has access to the two best reactions in the game, melt and vaporise, and can be used with electro for overload to break shields with ease. Dendro when Mihoyo?
Yanfei seems like a f2p player鈥檚 dream character, she鈥檚 basically a budget Klee. Plus, she鈥檚 adorable and has a unique back story akin to Ganyu鈥檚! Unless you just don鈥檛 like her design for whatever reason, I highly recommend trying your luck to get her!
Here is a little f2p friendly guide to help you build her should you pull her ! :)
Talents and Ascension
Prioritize Yanfei鈥檚 normal attacks when building her talents. Most of her damage will come from Charged Attacks, so her damage will scale better by leveling up her autos first.
Her burst should be second priority since it has a higher damage multiplier. Her skill can be saved for last.
She will require a boss drop from Azhdaha, Bloodjade Branch. Azhdaha is the new weekly boss being introduced in 1.5. Be sure to challenge him once a week!
Other items you will need to ascend her as a character are Agnius Agate, Primordial Jade, Noctilucous Jade, and Treasure Hoarder Insignias!
Weapon
If Yanfei is as much like Klee as she sounds, then the Widsith will likely be her BiS 4 star weapon. Obviously, if you have a 5 star catalyst then use that! If you don鈥檛 have either of these, don鈥檛 fret! The Mappa Mare is a craftable weapon and is a great choice!
Mappa Mare scales with Elemental Mastery, which is fantastic for a character that relies on reactions to do damage. It鈥檚 passive is also useful, granting a 10% elemental damage bonus when an elemental reaction is triggered. This effect can stack twice and scales higher with refinement.
Other great weapons if you have them on hand are the Blackcliff Agate and Solar Pearl. These weapons are great because they provide additional crit dmg and crit rate respectively. Blackcliff can be purchased in the shop with star glitter while the Solar Pearl is a BP exclusive weapon.
Artifacts
*If you are not AR45+* I do not recommend wasting your resin on artifacts. Wait until you鈥檙e world level 7 and challenge Lv 90 domains to get guaranteed 5 star artifact drops.*
I鈥檒l also use Klee again for inspiration here. The ideal artifact set for Yanfei would likely be Wanderers Troupe 4pc set. WT is very hard to farm though so Crimson Witch or Lava Walker sets would be good alternatives. In terms of priority I鈥檇 say it鈥檚 WT > WT/CW > CW > LW but it really just depends on the quality of the artifacts.
For main stats your timepiece should be Atk% unless you have very low Elemental Mastery. If you鈥檙e using Mappa Mare and have at least a 2pc Wanderers Troupe set then I鈥檇 go with Atk% as a main stat. I鈥檇 also use Atk% if you plan on pairing her with Sucrose, since she provides free EM to her teammates. If you are not using Mappa Mare or you don鈥檛 have good rolls for EM on your artifacts than shoot for EM as the main stat. So, Atk > EM unless your EM is <100ish.
The cup should 100% be Pyro Dmg Bonus. If you don鈥檛 have a single Pyro cup you can run atk% until you do get a Pyro cup.
The circlet should be Crit rate or Crit Dmg, depending which one gets you closer to the ideal 1:2 crit ratio. If your crit rate is <50% I鈥檇 say go with Crit Rate over Crit Dmg for more consistency. If you have >50% crit rate then prioritize Crit Dmg.
Sub stats should be prioritized as: Crit rate = Crit Dmg > atk% > elemental mastery > energy recharge > flat Atk and pray you don鈥檛 get too many Def or HP rolls.
Team Comp
Yanfei will preform best in a quick swap reaction based team. She will have the best synergy with Hydro, Cryo, Anemo and other Pyro characters. And wouldn鈥檛 you know it? Diona will be given away for free in 1.5!
Diona is a fantastic support character, and especially to Yanfei for several reasons:
Cryo application for Melt procs. Diona can apply Cryo with her skill as well as her Burst.
Diona has one of the better shields in the game. As a charged attacker, Yanfei will benefit from the interruption resistance that a shield provides. Diona鈥檚 shield scales with HP, so it鈥檚 relatively easy to build. It also provides a movement speed increase which is pretty cool and can cleanse other elements off of you to remove unwanted debuffs.
Her burst heals while dealing Cryo damage. This synergizes great with Yanfei. If you happen to have her at max constellation, Diona provides a hefty elemental mastery buff to her teammates inside the AoE of her burst too!
Diona can make use of multiple artifact sets. The new Millieth set looks fantastic for her on paper. She can also utilize the 4pc Maiden Beloved set or pair it with Scholar/Exile. If you lack a Energy Recharge weapon such as Sacrificial Bow or Favonius Warbow, then a simple 2pc Scholar/2pc Exile will work exceptionally well on her. Stack HP% on her timepiece, cup, and circlet to get the most out of her healing and shield.
There are several other characters you could pair with Yanfei and Diona to get a solid team comp. It ultimately comes down to which characters you have in your roster, but for the sake of this build we鈥檒l rely on free characters that everyone has access to.
For the third slot of this team comp, an Anemo character that can utilize Viridescent Venerer artifact set would be great for shredding Pyro resistance for Yanfei. Don鈥檛 have Venti, Sucrose, or Jean? Don鈥檛 worry, Anemo MC works great as a VV support thanks to their ability to reliably swirl! They also have a fair amount of crowd control and can reach c6 very easily.
For the last slot in this specific team I recommend Bennett if you have him, but if you don鈥檛 have him, Xiangling works great! Either way we will be using this slot as a burst support/nuke. I choose these two characters because they are Pyro, which gives the team Pyro resonance, increasing party Atk by 25%! I also chose them because they can both utilize 4pc Noblesse Oblige artifact set. The idea is to use their burst to increase the overall damage of the team. Again, Bennett is perfect for this role but I鈥檒l focus on Xiangling since she鈥檚 free to everyone.
Yanfei + Diona + Traveler + Xiangling is a team that will use quick swap play style. Quickswap is a form of play that relies on swapping characters in and out more frequently for higher combined damage, as opposed to Sustained play style where one character is dealing most of the damage. This team can be used in a 4 step rotation:
1.) Start with Xiangling and use her skill or burst to apply Pyro to enemies/activate the NO boost.
2.) Once Pyro is applied, swap to the Traveler and use their skill to swirl Pyro against enemies. This will activate VV 4pc boost, which shreds swirled enemy鈥檚 resistance to Pyro by 60%
3.) Swap to Diona and apply Cryo with her skill or Ult.
4.) Finally, Swap Yanfei in and use her charged attacks/burst to proc melts and do big pp damage.
Other 4 猸愶笍 characters that can be used with Yanfei include Bennett, Barbara, Chongyun, Sucrose, Xingqiu, Xinyan, Rosaria, and Kaeya. Shoot for Pyro resonance for that sweet Atk buff. Hydro or Cryo for vape and melt procs (Xingqiu is fantastic for this if you have him) and a VV user for resistance shredding (unless you have Zhongli as his shield will shred resistance for you!)
Yanfei can also be used with Electro characters like Fischl for niche shield breaking. Keep in mind that Overload does push enemies back and often requires you to sprint to keep up with them. Charged attackers like Yanfei do not like to sprint too much.
Geo resonance is also a solid choice for her if you have Zhongli, Albedo, or both. If you lack these 5 猸愶笍 characters I鈥檇 use her in the standard Pyro + Anemo + Hydro/Cryo comp because she doesn鈥檛 really have the greatest synergy with other geo characters.
TLDR:
Yanfei is a Pyro DPS character very similar to Klee. She can make use of the 4猸愶笍 craftable weapon, Mappa Mare; use Wanderer鈥檚 Troupe, Crimson Witch or Lavawalker artifact sets with Atk/EM timepiece, Pyro Bonus goblet, and Crit circlet. She ascends with Noctilucous Jade and Primordial Jade, and her talents level up with Bloodjade Branch from new weekly boss Azhdaha. She pairs well with quick swap teams that focus on vaporise and melt elemental reactions!
I hope some people find this helpful! Again, I think Yanfei has really good potential and would make a great addition to your team if you鈥檙e looking for another main carry. If you鈥檙e new or f2p she鈥檚 a great alternative to characters like Diluc and Klee for both overworld and Abyss. Zhongli is also a very good character to have so you really can鈥檛 go wrong pulling on this rate up.

Note
help a kazuha main out here pls.
my kazuha is lvl 90 and his talents are level 8, 7 and 5. his crit rate/crit dmg is 55%/102% and yet the highest i get is only 8k. also i copied the build from someone on tt who had similar crit rate/crit dmg but they were dealing 10-12k continuously?? this was with and without bennett's ult too.
pls can someone give me some insight. the only character ive ever had hit over 10k if my yanfei and that's bc i was (un)lucky enough to pull lost prayers to sacred wind.
thanks for any advice in advance<3
Ooh okok, I'll try to help out as much as I can babe 馃挒
Okay, so I'm assuming that the 8k you're referring to is the burst, right? Uhh,, I don't have a lot of info to work off on in your ask, but it's possible that the person who you were copying the build from a) had a higher EM stat, which, when you infuse Kazuha's ult with an element, will increase the swirl output. Note, swirl reactions do not crit. b) did the damage showcase against opponents with low elemental resistance, such as slimes or hilichurls. c) it could also be that this person's artifact sets are more optimized for damage dealing (but tbh artifact sets don't make, like, a huge difference usually, so it's unlikely that this is the sole reason.)
I don't know what twt vid you're referring to, nor do I know what build you're currently running, so I'm afraid this is the only insight that I can currently give :(( I hope it still manages to help you somewhat!! <33
