No actually in all honesty I feel like last time I went to India at 12 I had a tiny bit of impostor syndrome but was mostly very comfortable there, whereas in the ensuing 10+ years, I've somehow gotten really bad impostor syndrome about being Indian at all and have managed to gaslight myself into thinking that I have no knowledge of anything to do with being Malayalee, which is....truly fascinating, to say the least. Anyways needless to say that the second I got off the plane is Trivandrum I was immediately cured of that notion :')

#like yeah okay i am not malayalee in the way that so-and-so is or i'm not indian like so-and-so else but that's irrelevant #my mom is american i am also american but that doesn't preclude me from also being malayalee #doesn't mean that i need to feel like a stranger in kerala and in fact i did not feel like a stranger at all #before this trip i was reading darius the great is not okay (which i just sort of picked up at the library by chance)#but i was reading it and was like hmm this is a good pre-going-to-parent's-home-country-mixed-race-kid-experience read #but also i wanted to bop him on the head and be like you fool you belong #and lo and behold what should happen in kerala was me getting bopped on the head and told you fool you belong #perce rambles #i'll post some pictures and stuff here and on my main once i get my life together a bit more

its so surprising what percent of people are scared by like. the silliest things. ive had people on the verge of tears because i jokingly told them the house we were in was haunted and the ghosts were gonna eat us. or ill be in the woods and be like oh shit... slendermans here... and people will act like i just invoked the devil or something. like i thought the movies were joking when they showed full grown adults getting terrified by campfire stories but it is so real.

:( why would you say this. i love the 1, but have such immense love for invisible string, and it does hurt that it had to be swapped out in the setlist. i'd have cherished that with the pretty golden thread visuals. still. we were something, don't you think so?

while we're at it, justice for 'tis the damn season too, that's one of my evermore favorites and i was SO excited that it was one she decided to play. no offense to NBNC, which i think i like a bit more than many (it's fun and entertaining to me, even with the dark theme, it feels like a bit of levity amongst a lot of the ache of evermore because it's clearly fiction and her playing around). ttds should be there! i lost two beloved faves!

but that does not put a damper on my thrill and excitement that the film is coming! i feel breathtakingly fortunate that we're going to get to have that experience <333

#and on the silly nitpicky route: as everyone knows i am forever heartbroken the red tour doesn't exist on film #and while i get why she plays the big pop hits in the set #wanegbt/ikywt/22 are like. the least representative tracks of what red as a whole IS.#so it makes me a little sad she wasn't more adventurous and didn't swap one of those for state of grace/holy ground or the title track #when they play from that box it feels like a cruel tease lol #i get she does upbeat songs because she also does ATW10 but holy ground/sog/red are all bangers in their own right!#this isn't real criticism btw. it's just me being a red girlie and a brat ❤#those songs are still fun and i love them and i will be bopping!#anonymous #letterbox #thrown out speeches
