okay, but putting aside the comedic aspect of this, it is concerning the amount of people who are prompted to vote for candidates just because it's funny. I'm not the biggest fan of how his policy about the boarder sounds [Site], but I do implore anyone who is able to vote in the 2024 US election to please research other candidates.

The media is only going to continue pushing the idea it's inevitably going to be Trump vs Biden 2.0 and we have no other options, that we have to vote for Biden again because of Project 2025. Is that whole thing terrifying?

Yeah, fucking absolutely.

But voting for Biden will not solidify our safety from that. Biden is exactly like the rest of them. He always has been. You can't make the lesser of two evils argument when they're both just plain evil.

You cannot say that Biden is even mildly a better choice than Trump when he is currently directly involved in a genocide. That is not some little fucking thing. That in and of itself disqualifies him as a lesser evil. Biden is just as bad as him and he will not save us because he doesn't fucking care.

It can be misinterpreted but honestly, it’s still weird to say stuff like that as a minor to another one. The user has threatened to doxx Razzy’s friend for reasons that are still unclear to me and as of right now, there is no new post but please report them.

It’s so off putting in a way I can’t even describe it just makes me feel sick and worried for Raz and Ko. If this happens to anyone else, please alert me, so I can help spread the word on it and to get the person/or people taken down. There's something extremely satisfying about a person posting on AO3 asking people to write a particular ship and offering commissions for it, said person being told in a comment that the post is against TOS and they should delete it in case someone reported it (and you having already reported it), said person literally saying they will delete it and then not actually deleting it... and then AO3 sending you an email, thanking you for reporting it, confirming it was against TOS, and letting you know it's been removed.

It's just so...

I give blanket permission for anyone to create and post any type of transformative variations on my fanfic: translations, art, podfic, mixes, remixes, sequels, prequels, side stories, etc. I've had that statement in my AO3 profile for years and I stand by it! I love it when people spring board off of my fic: it makes me feel like part of a greater community of creation, and it's wonderful.

But I'm currently contemplating the fact that someone did a podfic of one of my fic, but changed the title, gave no attribution, and is apparently trying to sell it on various podcast channels that allow for that.

And just: huh. Why change the title and drop attribution? Podfics are their own transformative art form. I've given permission. I've had several other people make podfics of my fics, and they're awesome and deserve all the kudos for their creations which built off of my creations which in turn built off of so many other creations.

As I thought about it, I realized that the attempt at monetization is reassuring to me. It's the difference between a random asshole parasite and someone desperately trying and failing to make a connection.

In a capitalist society, there's a pattern of one person taking credit and earning income from other people's work. But in fandom, where the currency is community and connection, plagiarism is the worst kind of self-sabotage, where any community and connection the poster receives is poisoned from the start.

Trying to sell fanfic is always going to be risky, and I want nothing to do with it. But also, I'm glad that the person who plagiarized me was trying to get money rather than being some kid trying to find a community and going about it in the worst way.
