Hello hello! Mod Ki'to here, and I am the humble Mooncat behind @humblemooncat (Clever, isn't it? I'll see myself out-)

I'll be helping out with the festivities this year offering my services as an omnigatherer, tank, and my access to things such as skybuilders' and island goodies (For which I have a plethora of currency)!

So, if you need help getting certain things you might not yet have access to, collecting an abundance of resources, or a tank to help level or farm, I'm your man. o7

To introduce myself a bit more for those who've never seen me around before, I run the aforementioned blog as my main hub for all things FFXIV, but generally I just post about my main catboys and assorted ocs!

My mains in-game are my Warriors of Sunlight & Moonlight, U'lohi Tia ("Orange Sherbert" in-game) and Ki'to Vashai.

Though Lohi's home world is Halicarnassus, Dynamis, you can generally find them both on Zalera, Crystal! If I'm not on one, chances are I'm on the other. ;3c

I also run the sideblog @hikinghydaelyn, made for a challenge alt I play from time to time whose main goal is to rp walk the whole MSQ.

Other than the usual MSQ updates for Lohi, and my personal "Mooncat ramblings", I also pride myself on my gposes, my occasional writing (My Playlist drabbles and "A Journey of Remembrance" being my favorites), and my art!

I'm doing this for Hoshi since I already have a playlist for him aha.

Eyestrain and flashing lights warning for the last two songs/mvs.

Literally the Hoshi song ever. His whole life is an identity crisis for a plethora of reasons and he thinks himself very much as a villain (for similar reasons to the song and more)

「 Today, tomorrow too; it's always a great day! Laughing and crying, forever happy! Yeah, as if. 」 Yeah, as if - ナナヲアカリ (nanawoakari)

Also gigantic Hoshi vibes. He plays very fake-optimism, happy-go-lucky vibes but is actually a huge ass nihilist and very pessimistic. He has a very fake smile that is probably too much some of the time but is still pretty hard to see through.

Oh man, where do I start with this.

He is definitely not a psychopath lol, but Hoshi does very much enjoy causing problems and lying and turning people against each other just for fun. He looves being pampered and treated like a princess and can and will manipulate people into treating him well and then will literally rob them or worse.

He does lean towards doing these things to other criminals, but he has victimized random passersby more than once.

He did tone down a lot after some time of being in the Scions, but he very much still has some tendencies to be a manipulative little rat. The most gremlin of gremlins.

RPG Character Development Questions!

Oh, absolutely.

The one that claws, and claws, and claws at Nomin is the desire to have close connections and feel like she can keep them. After Endwalker, it's not that bad of an intrusive thought, but after leaving the Steppe, and all of the events through ARR all the way to ShB? There are so many harrowing things, losses, and near losses that center around her and her involvement as the WoL that it becomes this nagging feeling that she needs to keep a lot of people at arm's length.

More under cut because Endwalker spoilers.

She never talks about this -- not until she kind of has more deep connections and private conversations with Estinien after they start living their own life on the Island Sanctuary. But she does later express to him how it always stifled her and made her fearful to have close connections with anyone. And like...there's a point where she breaks down crying about it because that time in Ultima Thule really hammered that home for her.

Like...she had Thancred stolen away from her, after she was finally reconciling more with him (she was not a fan of his general attitude toward Ryne, but she was working on rebuilding their bridges). Not to mention that there was that moment she watched Estinien give his life for her and the others to press on, and like...that kind of fucked her up, because not even just a night ago, they finally confessed and shared a night of love and passion with one another because, 'fuck it, this might be the last night we have together.'

But you know...she had to stay strong, she had to hold herself together, she had to press on in order to see everyone's desire to save Etheirys through. I would think that those experiences in Ultima Thule actually contribute to some PTSD night terrors and insomnia -- the sense of not wanting to fall asleep because she doesn't want to relive those moments.

So yeah...it does kind of conflict with her main goals a lot of the time. Because she DOES like those moments of respite and camaraderie... But a lot of the time, she distances herself in order to just...keep them at arm's length. That maybe being distant would make it hurt less. Not just for her, but for them, too.

In Praise of Prose.

Just a quick appreciation post for all the talented prose writers in the FFXIV Tumblr Community.

Writing prose is hard work, like seriously hard work. Poetry is a walk in the park by comparison - just find a word that sounds vaguely like another couple of words and you're done (or if you're more serious-minded, write a few lines saying why things are a bit like other things, then go and put the kettle on).

I'm very grateful for the support and encouragement I've received from various Tumblr mutuals to try writing more prose, but blimey it's tough to do at all, let alone well.

So thank you to all the highly talented prose writers out there! I am in awe of your creativity and skill. Please keep on writing!

I attended Ki'to (@humblemooncat - for whatever reason it won't let me mention you)'s art party last night! I can't do much in the way of art, but I love seeing peoples' characters all dressed up, so I took the chance to practice taking some gpose portraits!
