Okay, let’s try this again! I’ll be placing a bulk order of my fic, Write First Then Read, from the printer in early November. I won’t know final total cost until all orders are collected, since the printer offers volume discounts on printing, and adding more copies to an order doesn’t appreciably increase shipping costs from the printer to me. So the estimates on cost given here are likely on the high side for US residents, possibly a little on the low side for international residents. But! I will be providing a concrete final total to everyone based on exact shipping to them as the printing date draws closer.
I won’t ask for payment until after the interest survey window closes on November 2, 2022.

Printing a single copy costs $5.54 but the printer, again, offers a volume discount so this could drop depending on how many people want a copy.
Shipping from the printer to me depends on number of copies ordered, but a single copy cost me $5.59 to ship. Out of curiosity, I wondered how much it would cost to ship 50 copies, and it was only $25, so again, a substantial savings upfront to order multiple copies. This total will vary based on how many books I end up ordering, and I won’t have a concrete estimate based on that number until I have a number to estimate on. :’D
Shipping from me to you is the biggest variable. First is the cost of packing supplies (envelopes, labels, etc. that will vary a bit if I’m able to buy them in bulk. But I want to use a quality mailer to avoid damage to your book! I’m estimating about $1 per package right now, but again, this could be less.) I’ll be using USPS first class mail. Within the US, I can ship Media Mail, which is only $3.49.
Outside the US, postal rates will vary by your location. I’ll confirm that cost with you before you have to commit to ordering.
Handling things this way saves you money, since I don’t have to cover online store fees, etc. Hopefully this makes things easier for everyone.

So without further ado, here are some of my favorite mods:
- Lookup Anything: This is probably my favorite mod. It basically eliminates the need to have to keep consulting the Stardew Valley wiki while you play. The title says it all: this mod lets you look up anything. Need to know what’s a good present for Shane? You can pull up a list of all his loved and liked gifts, with items you have on hand highlighted for ease, plus his birthday, how many hearts he has with you and how many points you need to get to the next heart. Need to know if you should hoard that pine sap or sell it? You can pull up all the uses for it, items that can be crafted with it, anyone who might like it, community center bundles it’s used for, and how much you make by selling. How many days until your melons are ready to harvest? What items can drop from that stone in the mines? What are all the items you can make with the furnace? It’s such a fantastically handy mod and I refuse to play without it!
- NPC Map Locations: One of the most frustrating things in the game is trying to remember everyone’s schedule and then not being able to find someone to give them a birthday present or turn in a quest item. This mod shows exactly where everyone is on your map and solves that problem for good!
- Automate: This mod automatically pulls items from nearby chests into machines, so you don’t have to keep running back and forth to your furnace to pick up the finished metal bars and toss more ore in there...it just spits the finished item back into the nearby chest, pulls in whatever available items you’ve got in the chest and starts running again without you having to do a thing! Just be careful of where you place your chests and machines or you might end up processing items you didn’t want to. Luckily, you can set individual chests to not have items pulled from them.
- Fishing Made Easy Suite: I suck at fishing. I almost never bother with fishing if I don’t have a mod to make it bearable. I like this one because it has different levels of easy-ness, so you can make fishing just 25% easier, or 50%, or 75%, or 99%! And there are some other fun perks too. You want to catch all fish regardless of weather or season? Want to catch legendary fish multiple times? Want to catch prismatic shards? Go nuts.
- Stardew Valley Expanded: This mod is absurdly huge and adds SO MUCH CONTENT. New areas! New characters! New events! I was a little hesitant to start it just because I knew there was so much to the mod and was a little concerned of how well it would mesh with the rest of the game, but the characters and story and style fit in perfectly with the vanilla content. I could almost forget Andy and Sophia weren’t there all along! The purpose of the mod was to make the game feel fresh and new for people who had already played the game and that’s exactly what it does. I love it.
- Artisan Valley/Project Populate JsonAssets/Starbrew Valley: I’m lumping these together but this is a collection of mods that add a TON of new items, crops, trees, flowers, machines and recipes to the game. You don’t have to download them all! You can pick and choose the ones you want, or download the PPJA content pack to get the bulk of these mods all in one go! I personally really love Artisan Valley because it lets me make floral candles and soaps. And an espresso machine so I can make fancy coffee. And Starbrew Valley so there’s actually a fun variety of alcohol in the game.
I’m putting the rest under a cut because this is getting too long.
- Chests Anywhere: Lets you access all of your chests from the menu! You can add some limitations, like only being able to access chests in the same location you’re in, but I’m dumb and constantly forget that I was supposed to bring a present for a villager with me today, or that I wanted to upgrade one of my tools but left all my metal bars at home. So instead of having to run all the way back to my farm, I can just open my menu and switch through the chests until I find the item I need! Labeling the chests also makes this a lot easier for organization.
- Seasonal Villager Outfits: Finally, the villagers have more than one set of clothes! This mod gives them different outfits in different seasons, different weather and special outfits for holidays! It’s cute and really improves the immersion to see the villagers wearing tshirts in the summer and bundling up in the winter, and dressing up for special events! Some characters will change their hairstyle too, which I love.
- Canon-Friendly Dialogue Expansion: Gives all characters more stuff to say so they won’t just repeat the same lines over and over! Also gives them varied dialogue for festivals starting in year 2, so they don’t say the same thing every year at the Egg Festival or Spirit’s Eve.
- Immersive Elliott: Add more dialogue! Lots more dialogue! I downloaded the Elliott version of this mod because that’s who I plan to marry but I recommend looking up dialogue mods for whoever your favorite characters are (I think there’s one for almost all the marriageable candidates.) You’ll probably be chatting a lot with whoever you’re trying to woo and it’s nice to get lots of new lines!
- Stardew Foliage Redone: There are tons of mods that change the colors and style of trees and buildings and stuff but this one is my favorite. It’s very soft and earthy and pretty without being overkill.
- The Love of Cooking: Actually makes cooking fun in Stardew Valley! It adds a cooking skill, an upgradable cooking tool that lets you cook with more ingredients (at the start you can only make one ingredient dishes), a cooking community center bundle, star levels to cooked items, an animation when you cook...cooking was very bland in the base game, and this mod really spruces the whole system up.
- Medieval Buildings/Medieval craftables: Again, there are so many mods that change up the look of your farm buildings and stuff but these are really pretty and cool and absolutely my style. There’s a mod to make all the town buildings have this style too, but I kind of like keeping the town normal and just living on my mysterious and beautiful farm apart from the rest of the world. My sprinklers are magic moss covered rocks now!
- Elle’s Dog/Cat/Horse/Barn/Coop/etc animals: Super cute animal skins. They look so huggable and soft. Also one of the dog options looks like my real life dog and that’s very important to me.
- Adopt ‘n’ Skin: Pairs well with the mods above, this mod lets you have multiple dogs/cats/horses and lets you use as many different skins as you like. I’ve got four cows and they’ve all got different patterns and colors. I love it. Also Marnie starts taking in stray animals and you can adopt them from her, which is a really cute way of letting you have more pets.
- Seasonal Garden Farmhouse: Its a pinch overkill especially in the early game, but I really like this farmhouse layout. It gives you a small kitchen from the start, a bathroom you can use to restore stamina, big open windows that change with the seasons and time of day...it’s a luxury house and it’s very nice to live in!
- Industrial Kitchen and Interior/Industrial Furniture/Rustic Country Town Interiors: These mods give the interiors and furniture a more rustic style, and the last one changes the town interiors to match. There are many furniture/interior mods, so if this style doesn’t do it for you, check out some of the others! There are lots of very pretty mods!

Holy jesus i knew they did hd ps4 ports of the playstation games but they ALSO added all the final mix content that engkishspeaking fans never got during my childhood? And they ALSO remade chain of memories entireky in 3d with Very Animated Ice Dad?? And they ALSO remade BBS despite it not needing it nearly as much as the old games and thet ALSO remade friggin dream drop distance which came out on a goddamn current gen console?? Like they seriously just made a non portable version?? Now all the spinoffs are on the same console at last?? Why did you not just do this in the first place?? I mean the psp and 3ds games were basically ps2 equivelant graphics and disc space anyway...

Nothing else in the series deserves to be shoved in the Coded bin, even khux at least has better plot even if the backtracking and lootbox shit makes it harder to get to it...

I really just DONT KNOW! ive been out of the fandom for so long and my last experience was really hatting BBS and feeling horribly out of place as everyone else raved about it being the best thing ever. And i know NOTHING about what kh3 is gonna be or whether its even possible for me to get back into the fandom and like.. Care about it at all again. I just got fuckin fatigued with it and my teenage years were like me clinging on to the edge of a cliff by my fingernails begging everyone to believe me that Its Still Good, Honestly, Its Worth It while square enix is up there all LONG LIVE THE KING and they push me off. Into a stampede of PSPs. Somehow.
And then aaargh i know i literally only came back to the fandom because organization xiii fuckin eternally holds my heart in their lil grabby hands. It was indeed a good nostalgic moment remembering how i loved them! And getting a new appreciation for Vexen and being blown away by how much he should have been my favourite but i just never got to play COM as a kid and then when i played it as an adult all the way after bbs i ended up quitting before even getting to meet half the org cos this one stupid 'defeat 99 shadows jn 99 seconds' mission kicked my ass. I'M JUST NOT GOOD AT ACTION RPGS OKAY!
Aaaagh thats another Big Worry, yknow? Like asa kid i was Bad, as an adult i'm Barely Better , and as a both i never enjoyed beat em up thingies of any kind at all. And on top of that i was never big into disney, i never saw them as any sort of 'childhood magic' but just some naff cliche shit retelling public domain fairy tales in the safest way possible with a bunch of obnoxious celebrity cameos. Also lion king and snow white terrified me as a kid. Also i associated robin hood with my dead grandma. Also as a kid i couldnt appreciate good artistic ability or voiceacting, i was all about the story, yknow? And most of kh's adaptations are really rushed and barebones versions of an already shoddy story, without any of the visual splendor. ALSO i never saw any of the darker or more emotionally focused stuff like Hunchback and Beauty and the Beast until way after i quit playing kingdom hearts, oddly enough. Wtf beauty and thebeast is actually real good and looks so far beyond its time!! Wtf hunchback has my goddamn evil dad in it!! Why did i miss the only good didneys!! Why did snow white traumatize me and those didnt!!
ANYWAY the point im getting at is that im not inherantly predisposed to like.. Any of kingdom hearts's appeal at all. I didnt know half the disneys and i didnt have any hype for the others. None of my fave final fantasy games made it into it until the sequel and then never again after that. CMON I CANT JUST DEAL WITH ONE VIVI CAMEO Y'ALL! And i haaaate the genre and its an uphill struggle to play a game like that with my stupid inelegant sausage hands. So i just came for the story and then everything after the first game has been conspiring to ruin it for me, sheesh! I felt so much for that short concise self contained first episode and then i fall more and more out of love as they establish this status quo of everything being retconnable so dont bother get attatched to it. Blablabla the entire worldbuilding is different now and everyone was secretly someone else and please memorize a bunch of shit from fifty fuckin spinoffs and also time travel and cloning suddenly exist and ALSO Grandpa Onlyblackmanintheworld is generic motiveless evil and everything was him even of it looked like it was actually a sympathetic villain. *insert dio meme face*
So yeah now im just.. In it for the characters?? And the cute art style and monsters and lovely animations and big fanfic oc potentials stuff. But man even tho i had Big Feel for those things i was able to completely drop it all and forget about the series for years, that was just HOW BAD the kh3 drought was. Steven universe hiatus eat your heart out...
So ffff i dont even KNOW if i'll be able to get feels'd for these characters again or if they actually hold up to modern bunni standards of huggable. And i know all the ones i want to hug the most got like zero sympathy and all died horribly and were also retroactively revealed to be clone oldmanvirus somethingy and aaaaaagh. Cuddly rolling robot Lovot returns to CES as a real product
Lovot stole our hearts at last year's CES. Coming from Japanese company Groove X, Lovot is a pint-sized rolling robot that's designed to bring cheer into people's lives, acting as a kind of mechanical pet. It has big eyes, a button nose and two flipper-like arms that wave around when Lovot wants to dance, be picked up, or otherwise interact with its owners (or other Lovots). It also coos. It's the most adorable thing.
However, last year, Lovot was only a prototype. At CES 2020, Groove X is showing off the retail version of its cuddlebot, which is available now in Japan. The final Lovot connects to an app, which allows owners to customize its eyes and interactions, and track its behavior. Once Lovot has rolled around enough, the app also shows a rough outline of the Lovot's living space -- AKA, your home. With this, users can remotely direct Lovot to snap a picture of any accessible room, acting as the world's cutest security guard.
Lovot has a solid base and head, and a soft, huggable body. It's warm -- all of the electronics powering its insides heat up, and internal fans cool everything to a temperature that's best described as "sun-warmed puppy belly."
The robot comes in a few different colors, and Groove X even sells a handful of outfits for it. Speaking of consumerism: Lovot is only available in Japan, where it sells for $2,776 (299,800 yen), including a base station. There's also a monthly fee to use Lovot, since Groove X updates the robot every month. The lowest-priced subscription tier is $83 per month, while the highest is $185. The basic tier grants users access to all of Lovot's features and software updates, while the top option adds data backup and no-cost upgrades in the future.
The price and subscription fee make Lovot a luxury item, for now. Groove X wants to sell Lovot outside of Japan, but it'll need investors to make that happen, a spokesperson said. That's why the company is at CES, after all.

The Mage is the passive Cryptic class. It says Cryptic, not cryptid. Joking about Mages and Witches being like bigfoot got really old. It was even worse when they snuck into my Dwelling Spire and took my food and pretended like I wasn’t there, and I had to plot their death to calm down. Then again, they left clues in the cereal boxes they ate out of (I later fed them the clues).
I got wrapped up in my thoughts, sorry. The Cryptic classes are meant to bewilder you to help the session in the weirdest possible way. The difference is how they go about it. Witches are active. They flip levers and ask questions that lead you to do something, but they don’t explain zip. Mages mark down buttons and ask puzzles that you get later. They’re weird. In fact, they reason they’re Mages and Witches is because they’re afraid of being perceived as weird. So the game decides, “oh, don’t wanna be weird? fuck you”.
V id is a weird title that almo t nobody knows about because of it’s very nature. Mist is the opposite of V̸́͜o̧͠í̡͘͢d̀̕. Mist is all about things existing. Therefore, you know a lot about Mist. Void is about N̢̯̼̭̯͔̘̞͜O҉͘҉̥̗̲̲̳̜͙͍̮̪͓T̢̞̫̥̮͇͚͙̜̗̱̱̘̝͔͖̦̤̕H҉̤̩̳̖͚̫͉̞͖͚̰̣̕I̪̫̥̟̫̤͔̤͈̱̹͞Ņ̶̨̮̳̘̼͙̣͉̠̦̣̫̰̬̱̣̗̦̼G̶̢͍̗̖̰͓͜͡͞ͅ , so nobody knows it. So a Mage of Void puzzles people with Nothing. That’s exciting. But only if you take it literally. The thing is with Void, you have to think laterally. Double-Negatives will be your friend here. One of the things I find makes Void incredibly easy to understand is the simple potential of potential. If you have nothing, you can only go up from there. So think of ways to lead people to a goal out of nothing, obfuscate it, and leave it lying there.
As for the personal funk of being weird and being waylaid into obscurity, I’m pretty sure you can challenge your title by doing anything how you feel it should be, and people will grow to accept that you’re weird, and now they have an annoying trickster friend.
SAMPLE PUZZLES
Anything involving abstract scribbles
innocuous objects that are significant to the situation you’re hinting at (like spare chess pieces to indicate carapacians, a gag snake to indicate the Denizen, etc)
Shove someone’s dreamself into a Dream Bubble. A ghost is bound to help them, and you get points.
WEIRD SONGS. Void loves that shit. Blast some White Noise, Vaporwave, or anything like that, and you can influence the weirdness that comes from it.
HOW TO PLAY A MAGE OF VOID

Dabble in the ways of nothing
It’s a horrible idea, but Void players get along with HorrorTerrors

Give the ans er and miss the point of everything you stand for

Make something like a stupid puzzle like the Fox Chicken Grain puzzle, and the reward is where they’re supposed to go.
MAGE OF VOID ABILITIES
[Brofessor Layton]: This is available to all Cryptic classes. If you ever get bent thinking up a Puzzle (or solving one given by someone else, including your future/past self), put this on blast and open your mind to the myriad of abstract thoughts you experience. This is a little bugged, however. Depending on your Universe, it blasts the theme song to GameBro (Pre-Scratch Earth. May be 1980′s or 2000′s version, depending on the year), GameGrl (Post-Scratch Earth), or GameGrub (Beforus/Alternia). This makes it a bit harder to think, however. Still worth a try.
[Subtle Implication]: This is a very niche move. If you blast music or splatter paint or anything where there’s too many of one thing to comprehend all at once, you can leave subliminal messages inside.
[Holotelegraphic Vision]: That’s readable if you slow down. This effectively let’s you place down visions that can play audiovisual content, and even interactive ones. For puzzles requiring moving things around. You can also play Squiddles on it.

The Hard Words of Jesus
It has been said that Jesus came to comfort the afflicted and to afflict the comfortable. Many people look at Jesus (or their Bibles for that matter) with both a highlighter and an eraser--they sort of highlight the statements they really like Jesus making, and then attempt to erase the statements He made which they don't like.
Recently I came across the “Jesus Plush” doll. It's advertised as a "huggable, washable, and talking Jesus plush doll." The Jesus doll sells for $15.95 retail. Sporting both fuzzy dreadlocks as well as a satiny beard, Talking Jesus is said to recite "actual scripture verses to introduce children of all ages to the wisdom of the Bible." Commenting on the product, Sojourners Magazine reports: ‘When you squeeze his red heart his sayings include, "I love you, and I have an exciting plan for your life," and, "Your life matters so much to me." Which aren't actually phrases found in the Bible, or from Jesus' lips. In fact, only one of Jesus' messages is an actual Scripture quote (John 15:12 'This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.').’
Some of the actual reviews on Hallmark's website include these (these are real!):

I don’t think I can stomach to read any more...Is that what we’ve reduced Jesus to? Simply pull the string and He will tell you how wonderful you are?! (Is that what we’ve done to our modern worship songs?)
We will always be tempted to fashion God in our image—forgetting that we were created in the imago Dei. The truth is, Jesus didn’t only say trite kind words to people. What do we do with the difficult things Jesus said? No matter how you look at Jesus--one thing you cannot do is only take His loving statements and then edit out the more difficult statements that He made.
The Hard Words of Jesus
What do you do with the hard sayings of Jesus?
Do you ignore them? Dismiss them? Soften them?
Jesus made statements like this in Luke 14:26-27:
“If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. 27 Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.”
Later in that same discussion, Jesus says this:
“So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.” (Luke 14:33)
What about the time He said this to someone:
“Another of the disciples said to him, ‘Lord, let me first go and bury my father.’ 22 And Jesus said to him, ‘Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.’” (Matthew 8:21-22)
Wait, what? ‘Hate my father and mother and wife and children and brothers? Hate my own life? Take up my cross? Renounce all that I have? Let the dead bury their own dead?’ Who does this guy think He is?
I’d be willing to put $10 on the bet that the Jesus Plush doll isn't going to feature any of those verses in next year’s version!
What do you do with the hard sayings of Jesus? Do you dismiss them? Repackage them, or interpret them in a way that lets you off the hook?
Christianity is not inviting Jesus to follow us after we pray a little prayer--it is surrendering our entire lives and will to Him and coming to the end of ourselves! It is taking up our cross--a first century means of torture and execution--and saying I am now coming to an end. My dreams, my pursuits, my appetites, my desires, my affections are all being crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
Christianity is not about exchanging a gold necklace for a cross necklace, or changing your radio presets from 106.5 to 90.5. It isn't trading Alcohol for Publix Sweet Tea, or homeschooling your kids instead of sending them to public school. If that is all Christianity is to you, you've missed the entire purpose of the Gospel.
A.W. Tozer said:
“The new cross is not opposed to the human race; rather, it is a friendly pal and, if understood aright, it is the source of oceans of good clean fun and innocent enjoyment. It lets Adam live without interference. His life motivation is unchanged; he still lives for his own pleasure, only now he takes delight in singing choruses and watching religious movies instead of singing bawdy songs and drinking hard liquor. The accent is still on enjoyment, though the fun is now on a higher plane morally if not intellectually.”
Jesus wants me to feel good about myself and feel loved and feel accepted...
No, Jesus invites you to come enter into a relationship with Himself--but to enter into that relationship it requires that you must die.
How does that make you feel?
Offensive, yet Amazing
The truth is, the Gospel is offensive. The message of the cross (we learn in 1 Corinthians 1) is:
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (1 Corinthians 1:18)
The cross is offensive. It is foolishness. The gospel is offensive. In it, we learn that we are born as children of wrath (Ephesians 2:1); our status is that we are wretched sinners who go our own way (Romans 3:10); we will receive a just punishment for our rebellion, i.e. death (Romans 3:23); and that apart from the righteousness that Jesus imparts and imputes to us, we will die in our sins and suffer the judgment of the wrath of God for eternity (John 8:24, 1 Corinthians 15:3, 1 Peter 2:24, Romans 5:6-17).
That’s why we can trust when Jesus says, “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.” (John 5:24). He hasn’t minced words but only speaks what is true.
That may offend us, but when we understand who Jesus is and what He has spoken, His words should empower and encourage us. His words will never pass away (Luke 21:33), even when the current fads and fashions inevitably will.
