28 songs for the HSMTMTS S4 soundtrack and by the composers names it seems like all of the songs from HSM3 will be featured in the season + originals. Some of them composed by Josh. I am legit expecting the episodes to be at least 45 minutes each to cover all of this content.

HSMTMTS musical geekery

I've been obsessively listening (and singing along with) the 3 same-sex duets in HSMTMTS s4 and I was curious as to the ranges of the songs so I had to pound them out. Joe & Frankie are the big winners, each singing just shy of 2 octaves (and it's lower than I can sing!!) And while the timbre of Matt's voice sounds lower, his lowest note on Speak Out is only an F3 whereas Joe sings a Bflat2, which is 7 half-notes lower!! And while both Julia and Saylor sing higher than the boys (up to E5), Saylor sings down to Aflat3 whereas Josh only goes a half step lower. Crazy!!!

So total ranges: Call It What You Want: Aflat3 - E5 Speak Out: F3 to Bflat4 Over Again: Bflat2 to B4

anyways some of my fav hsmtmts songs (in no particular order) are: the climb, in a heartbeat, over again, wondering, rising, maybe this time, born to be brave (esp the s4 version) & dreams don’t die!

and i’d say the best soundtrack is the season 4 one! out of all the soundtracks i have the most s4 songs in my playlists and i think overall it’s the strongest one. literally all the original songs in s4 are incredible, the covers are so good too & i think it’s definitely also the best vocally (which is expected considering it’s the most recent soundtrack)

Can HSMTMTS PLEASE stop making covers that are both quite bad and incredibly catchy because there’s only so much that my brain and Spotify Wrapped can take actually.
