He shaved!!!!
I've been waiting for this for 2 seasons! Literally I have no problems with this season because they did this.

EJ was so adorable and happy for the majority of the episode, he was having the time of his life and starting his perfect summer.
Now he's been burdened with directing the "first ever" community production of the Broadway version of Frozen and Ricky's gonna steal (back?) Gina from him.
Bless EJ's little heart, all he wanted was to be a kid and be sappy with his girlfriend.

Okay, not looking forward to EJ being made the villain again.
BUT, have to admit that I am very much enjoying the tension between him and Ricky rn

idk if were supposed to think ej is being an asshole or something for working on the script while his friends go out
but as someone who directs he is sO rightfully stressed
being thrown into directing 2 days before rehersals start sounds terrifying

Spoilers
Hsmtmts season 4 thoughts:
Ricky: I'm so happy they allowed him to be happy in his relationships! His relationship with Gina was very well executed, at first I thought he was going to be super jealous the whole time(classic ricky) but he actually spoke to Gina about what was bothering him. He also actively learned from his mistakes with nini and his parents. I love his broship with EJ aswell, finally they are allowed to be friends and they both did each other such good! He had also recovered from his parents divorce in a way which felt earned.
Gina: She was also allowed to be happy this season! I was expecting her to get caught up in the love triangle, but thankfully she knew she wanted to be with Ricky and behaved platonically with Mack, not trying to lead him on or tick him into fighting with Ricky. I was dreading her giving up the film to stay at school but, the twist at the end made it way more satisfying and realistic a decision. (even if I'm real life it couldn't really have gone down this way lol.)
Ashlyn: I was sad to see her and big red break up, but it was done so well and they had drifted apart a lot since season 2, it made a lot of sense. The situation between her and madoxx felt so earned by the end and I love that she didn't cheat! She waited and properly thought out how she felt before she went for it.
Ej: (my tallest child) Loved him this season! Sooo well handed! He behaved like a proper adult, talking to Ricky as a slightly older brother, giving miss jen advice, stepping in when he was needed most and dropping things when his friends needed his help! In his first scene with Ricky you really get the impression he has grown a lot, but is still young and readjusting to his college life, he hasn't got more sorted than Ricky just an extra years experience.
Courtney: Again loved her this season!!! It was really nice to see her anxiety plotline hadn't been dropped but she had made visible progress. Watching her fret over which colleges to go to was a really interesting arc for her this season and she really pulled it off! The only actor who didn't have other main characters to bounce off in their scenes and she nailed it! I also loved that she found her people through church. Religion can often play a bit part in these sorts of decisions and it's not really talked about without it being made someone's entire personality, I thought it added a lot of depth to her character without being overwhelming.
I could talk all night but
Overall:
Carlos and seb were underused but hilarious as always
I love all of the bleeped out swearing.
This whole season felt really special I have a feeling the creative team found their feet and really made the show they wanted.
I'm glad the love triangle was a misdirect and was dropped pretty soon.
All of the actors stepped UP THEIR GAME IT WAS SOOO GOOOD
The Halloween song was incredible
Ej finally shaved
Everyone's relationships feel natural and well executed.
Every character feels like they have grown so much as they should.
Miss jen not leaving should have felt like a chiche but actually felt like the right decision for her.
Miss Jen breaking up with Ricky's dad also felt well done.
I hate to say it, but I'm glad this was the final season. The timing is right and I'm so glad we got such a good send off.
Also Ricky telling miss Jen he loves her had me crying yall.
