btw i was talking about howl’s moving castle to my best friend who loves the movie but hasnt read the book and i was telling her how in the book the black option in howl’s door doesn’t go to the war but to our world and she said “well it makes sense that to hayao miyazaki going to the real world from a magical one would mean going to a placed filled with war” and you know what you might have a point
I’d never wish to change a thing in the Howl’s Moving Castle Ghibli film because it’s so sweet and beautiful, but I would LOVE a more loyal book->movie adaptation and think it would be so cool if it were in an 80s-90s 2D animation style like The Black Cauldron, Anastasia, or the Quest For Camelot
(or alternatively something with a really artistic flair like song of the sea or long way north, but I think it would be cool if the 80s style was brought back because of the time the book was written :))
Okay but what if Howl watched Labyrinth and decided he wanted to emanate the vibes of this otherworldly, hot magical man and that’s one of the reasons he became a wizard in Ingary and it turns out he’s a Jareth wannabe except more of a drama queen
