Foolish: So- wait, what do we all need to do then? Do we just- do we just enjoy?
Roier: Uhh just um, just-
Maxo: Enjoy! Enjoy it!
Roier: Yes, enjoy, enjoy, because we are going to do, um-
Foolish: [looking at Vegetta] Oh, I'm gonna enjoy...
Vegetta: Foolish… *takes off his clothes* enjoy.

Can we talk again about post Purgatory effects. Because when Richas’ death message came up, Foolish didn’t just react - he panicked. He was at a loss for what to do, started tunneling into the snowman, frantically trying to create some sort of cover or safe space for the eggs and himself. But it’s Leo’s reaction to this that really gets me.
After Foolish’s panic, Leo starts acting out. Starts making light and fun of a situation where it’s definitely inappropriate. Getting Foolish’s attention, then placing chairs just for them. Starting their usual bit where they look at one another and eat the banana. Taking out popcorn and tossing it to her Pa. Making him laugh, distracting him - in exactly the way he does for her, for everyone else.
Leo left with the rest of the eggs to protect their parents. To keep her Pa safe. And now they’re both back, and he has matching cracks like hers, and is visibly still distressed from whatever happened in Purgatory, and is panicking - not sarcastically, or just doing it to add to the chaos, but honest to god panicking - so she helps in the way she knows. Protecting her dad the same way he protects, with laughter and distraction.

Let me tell you something. I dont want eloise or cressida to get lavender married to some man. This is not a tv show for compromises. I want them to fuck nasty in the house library, I want everyone to know that those two have something going on and gossip but never dare say it out loud, I want them to have royal immunity in society and stroll around arms linked and head high, I want them to make out in the park behind a tree, I want them to turn down men. It's time to start asking stupid tv shows to let lesbians have stupid moments

i’ve always kind of assumed that lo and li are azulon’s younger twin sisters and that’s why they were foisted off on azula, because she’s also a younger sister to the crown prince. but the fact that we never actually see them firebend is strange, because it implies either that nonbenders are instructing one of the greatest firebenders in the world, or that they are firebenders who simply do not firebend. and i think that the latter is more interesting, because it reflects how their position as elderly women devalues any firepower they might provide to the empire, passive and subdued even as they train ozai’s favorite weapon.
they are the ones to most overtly illustrate azula’s precarious relationship to femininity, after all. for example, noting the position of her hair after she successfully lightningbends in “the avatar state,” or emphasizing azula’s beauty when they introduce her in “the awakening.” and it’s clear that azula doesn’t really like them, dismisses and avoids them whenever she gets the chance. she can’t even tell them apart. their very existence is almost a humiliation. a reminder to azula that this is who she is destined to become once she lives past her usefulness. not the imperious azulon, her namesake, raised above on a fiery dais, but his sisters, insignificant and functionally powerless.
so of course “almost isn’t good enough,” of course “one hair out of place” is a failure. the only way azula can prove her worth to the empire she has devoted her entire self to in a way that matters is, perhaps, by being perfect, by being better and stronger than the discarded women who came before her. but that, too, is a delusion, that any amount of excellence will reward her in a way that compensates for the erosion of her very humanity. and yet, it’s all she has to cling to. so she gives it her all to excel within a system that will never really care about her because she has deliberately been made incapable of imagining an alternative. of simply recognizing the system for the failure that it is, conceptualizing a world beyond the bars of her gilded cage, and leaving.

Do you ever think about how the cultists at Moonrise mentioning Minthara's most damning weakness of all is longing for acceptance and affection from a mortal? And now after you kiss her, she goes, "You give me courage"??? In this essay I will-
*Come back after screaming outside for a min* Tav is her strength *back to sobbing*

Charlie is right.
Bolas Rojos won today. They got their revenge after yesterday’s beating. They’ve proven themselves as real competitors. They have literally won the battle today.
But they themselves have orchestrated the war.
Peace is no longer an option. All bridges have been burned for the red team. Any sympathy or pity from the other groups was gone as soon as they cemented first place. And even worse, there were many witnesses to their carnage. Primarily ElQuackity on green, who faced them head-on (so much for blaming the base raid on Bad), but Pol and Tina on blue saw those same chat messages. Like Charlie said, in situations like these, people will never forget. These are how grudges are formed, how small decisions lead to larger repercussions, and how consequences end up mattering after all is said and done.
The Bolas can’t go back now. They’ve made their bed of destruction and warfare, and now they have to lie in it. While the actions of the others may have led them down this path, do not get me wrong. They were not backed into a corner. There are many opportunities to do something different. For instance, the trader village or going full-on cult mode were genuinely viable options. Due to the lack of players on today and the players that were online’s motivation for the competition visibly waning, the red team could have easily isolated them each and indoctrinated them into the group.
To be honest, the Reds’ resistance to joining general vc only furthered their “us against the world” and “peace was never an option” mentality. Disregarding everything pre-purgatory, the only person who actually has positive relationships with the others is Foolish, who made an effort to interact outside of the team (1v1 with Étoiles, chatting with Tina and BBH, etc.). Unlike his teammates, Foolish really has set himself up well for the future, be it for trading, secret alliances, or if, for whatever reason, teams switch. And in games like these, that's how you gain credibility; that’s how you end up being pitied; that's how you survive.
And today, guess who won in that regard? The team in last place, SoulFire. Which thank god they did, because steamrolling the competition two days in a row is how you get majorly targeted. Their lack of progress (which was definitely unintentional lmao), the gen vc basically being BadBoyHalo’s “apology” tour for a bit (which again, very unintentionally focused the blame off of the six kills from their equally bloodthirsty leader), but most importantly, keeping Étoiles, the skilled and need I mention literal leader of the enemy team, company when his team was gone has more impact than even they might not realize. I mean, talk about damage control lol. Like going into Day 3, my bets on who’s group will form an alliance first are solely on green and blue.
Anyway, I am happy not only about the Reds getting the win they rightly deserve but also about the fact that they are aware of what they are doing. The moves they have and will make are purposeful, self-aware of their own “let’s all be peaceful” hypocrisy.
On Day 1, Blue and Green got to be the bad guys.
On Day 2, Charlie can’t help but question his own morality while doing the same terrible things that sent him down this spiral to ElQuackity tonight.
But I guess it's the burden that first place has to bear. I’m sure they’ll all get used to it eventually :)

I love landduo, Bad demanding payment from Foolish because Foolish bred his horse with Bad's earlier and now Foolish has a 14 speed horse from his own hours of breeding horses. Then, Bad breeds his horse with Foolish's later and Bad gets a horse that's like 14 speed on the first try then Foolish comes to Bad, demanding payment too.

The Tragedy of Dutch Van Dir Linde
Warning: spoilers ahead for both Red Dead games.
Dutch Van Dir Linde is one of the finest characters I've ever come across and that I think about a lot because in many ways, he is represents the dreams that people have and the awful reality of it too.
Heytham, what the hell do you mean that this manic, selfish, delusional piece of shit is like you or me?
Here is an example. When you were a kid, did your parents tell you that your dreams will come true if you worked hard? And did you believe it? I know I did. I studied often, got a great SAT score, joined many extracurriculars, did volunteer work regularly, got a part time job, had all high grades in advanced level courses and in AP/honor programs and I had one goal. To get into my dream college.
I made my resume. I did everything right. I listen to what people better than me told me to do and I waited for that acceptance letter- so confident that I would get into the university. Never once did I imagine that I'd get rejected, but I did. For a 17 year old kid, it felt like the world was ending. I remember sobbing myself to sleep, waking up, and then just laying on my bed disappointed in the world and the lies it fed me. In a perfect world, I'd have gotten accepted. Worst people than me got accepted, why couldn't I?
But I moved on. Life continued and I was fine. I was bitter, sure, but I managed to get over it and work towards better paths and a better future.
But what if I didn't? What if I got hung up on that forever? What if I fought the rejection? What would I have done? What would I have not done?
This little experience, one that many people have gone through, is kind of a microcosm of the much bigger human truth that the world will never be an ideal place due to the human nature.
If I was like Dutch, I would have fought the rejection- I would stick so diligently to the ideal that I believed in so hard, even though that failure was more than likely a guarantee. I wouldn't find an alternative to be better and do better things. I'll get hung up on a dream and never move past it.
That's his dilemma. He believes in the ideal, like we all do, but he will fight tooth and nail to make that ideal real while we will sigh and realize that life will never be the way we want it to be.
Dutch feels betrayed by the world, or at least by his vision of the world- especially America.
America was a country built on the promise of all men being born equal under God and under the law. All men.
That was the dream, the hope, and the promise.
What happened instead? The continuing of the institute of slavery, the massacre of natives, the monopoly of magnates, and the constant discrimination of those not considered 'white'.
It was disgusting and awful and it should've never happened- but it did and people tried to remedy it in ways that were gradual but real. They found different paths and different dreams and though there is still much work to be done, people are finding a way.
Dutch couldn't do that though. He refused to do that. He wanted the ideal and he wanted it immediately, even though it was impossible. He killed for his ideal, he robbed for his ideal, and he led people to hell for his ideal.
But it didn't matter. His ideal will never exist and he couldn't accept that- which leads to his end.
He won't be caught. And he didn't get caught by commiting suicide- a final fight. He wouldn't surrender to John or the Pinkertons, because that would mean admitting that his entire life was a struggle for nothing because his vision will never be realized if people like Cornwall or Favours or the professor continue to exist. Life was hell because of those people and the American dream did not exist because of those people.
"What a beautiful dream. So poorly rendered," - Dutch to Arthur.
And Dutch is right! From the very beginning that this country was created, it relied on an ideal that turned out to be a lie.
And Dutch couldn't handle that and wanted a perfect world that can never be realized and he tried to get that perfect world by lying and stealing and cheating and killing. What a depressing dichotomy.
Now, of course, when it comes to the personal motivations of Dutch, whether pride, hubris, narcissism, or any of that, they can all by factors to Dutch's pointless battle, but his motivation has always been clear and it never changed-
"Yeah, I know it's tough. You like Dutch. He's a charming fellow. He makes sense. He's like one of those nature writers from back East. Only he takes things a tiny little step too far. Rather than just loving the flowers and the animals and the harmony between man and beast, he shoots people in the head for money. And disagreeing with him. Now, I'm not a great intellect, but the metaphysical leap from admiring a flower to shooting a man in the head because he doesn't like a flower, is a leap too far." Edgar Ross to John Marston.
Dutch lived and died to create an ideal that would never be real because he could never accept reality and that is one of the saddest fates a man could have.

I'm like slightly insane about foolhalo. Like, ok, so they're immortals. They met multiple times throughout multiple lifetimes. They're some of the only people who know what it's like to love and lose so many people over and over again. After everything is all said and done, it's them at the end of the world.
How many civilizations did they witness the birth of? How many civilizations died during their lifetime? The world spins so fast nowadays and humanity is always in a rush towards the next big thing. But some things stay the same. Sometimes it's just Bad and Foolish.
They're each other's worst enemies. They're each other's closest confidants and bestest friends. They know what the other is thinking and have this weird mind link from knowing each other for literal centeries. They wouldn't hesitate to kill each other, and many people would think that's it, but sometimes you'll catch quick moments of soft tones and little glances that remind you how much they actually value each other's company.
It's not romance, but it isn't just purely platonic either. Foolhalo is hard to describe because it's neither platonic or romantic but it's also both at the same time.
The awesome aspect about shipping foolhalo is knowing they'll never be canon- not in the traditional sense- but simply vibing with the twisted way they show love for each other is enough for a wild time.

Foolish: You can still be Leonarda if you want! I mean, if you wanna be a Leonardo that's ok too, whatever makes you happy! Would you rather be Leonardo or Leonarda?
Whatever you wanna go by, just let me know. You can be Leonarda, Leonardo, Leoanoolish, Leonetta, Leonoolish, Leoniolish, it's whatever. Or it could also just be Leo, Leo for short.
