“Teaching constitutional law today is an enterprise in teaching students what law isn’t,” Leah Litman, a professor at the University of Michigan law school, told me.
Rebecca Brown, at the University of Southern California, has been teaching constitutional law for 35 years. “While I was working on my syllabus for this course, I literally burst into tears,” she told me. “I couldn’t figure out how any of this makes sense. Why do we respect it? Why do we do any of it? I’m feeling very depleted by having to teach it.”
At least she’s still trying. Larry Kramer, a widely-respected legal scholar and historian who was my constitutional law professor at N.Y.U. 20 years ago, called it quits in 2008, on the heels of the Supreme Court’s divisive decision in District of Columbia v. Heller, which struck down decades of precedent to declare for the first time that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to bear arms. Many observers felt that Heller’s majority opinion, by Justice Antonin Scalia, intentionally warped history to reach a preordained result.
Professor Kramer was the dean of Stanford law school at the time, but after the Heller ruling, he told me recently, “I couldn’t stand up in front of the class and pretend the students should take the court seriously in terms of legal analysis.” First-year law students, he felt, “should be taught by someone who still believed in what the court did.”

➤Second time's the charm || Mordecai Heller ||
A/n: I'm doing that idea I was blabbing about!
Flashback's italicized.
Mordecai often went through day's of him wondering why anyone would ever want to marry. He knew he could be difficult, he wasn't sure he would even be fit to be a father. Part of him didn't think that he deserved you or his sweet little kits. He loved them of course, they were a part of you both but he couldn't help but wish they didn't ask so many questions.
Pushing up his glasses, Mordecai dropped his shoulders spotting his three kits staring at him, one of them clinging to his pant legs. "Shouldn't you three be with your mother?"
"Papa! How did you meet Mama?"
Tensing, Mordecai opened his mouth then quickly adverted his gaze. He was suddenly take back to the moment where he first met you.
You weren't like other woman he's meet, you were awfully shy. Peering at him, until you'd shyly look away. To be honest, he wasn't the one that even noticed you at first, it was Viktor that pointed you looking at him.
You were cute, there was something that he couldn't pinpoint about what he liked about you so much. Maybe it was those big doe eyes of yours, you had such an innocent look.
Smolder? What the hell does that even mean?
So he did what Viktor told him to do, he tried to smolder but the only thing that came of it was your terrified gaze as you turned away from him.
"Wonderful."
Shaking his head, he pulled his kits into his lap. As he forced at particular memory out of his head. "Why are you three wondering how your mother and I met? We are married and happy....shouldn't that be enough?"
"No!"
Well it's not like he can just tell them that his first meeting scared you off, maybe he could just tell him about him confessing his feelings for you.
He didn't quite remember drinking that much, nor did he remember being dropped off at your tiny little apartment. He should have known better, really, he should have recognized the scent of your perfume the moment he was shoved into your arms.
You were so warm, you were always so warm, so kind....so soft.
He knew he loved you, he wasn't quite sure when he fell in love with you, but he was.
He pressed his nose into your neck, clinging tightly to you. "So warm."
"M-Mordecai." You did your best to help the cat over to the couch. "You...you are very heavy Mordecai!"
You both fall back on the couch, a deep rumble leaving his chest as he nuzzled into your neck again, you were so soft. "I love."
You could smell the alcohol on his breath, his glasses slipping down the bridge of his nose. Though your eyes went wide as he whispered your name.
Mordecai loved you?
Sighing, a small smile formed as you did your best to make him comfortable you weren't about to let him live this down.
No...no that wasn't something he could just tell his children. How was that even romantic? Who drunkly confesses their feelings and not even remember doing it the next day.
Clearing out his throat, he turned his attention to them as they waited for an answer.
"I saved her....from some thugs that were harassing her, the rest is history." Mordecai muttered.
All of their eyes went wide, a smile formed on his daughter's face. "How romantic!"
Chuckling softly, he then caught you standing in the doorway of his office. "Why don't you three go clean up for diner, I know your mother worked hard on it."
"Okay daddy!" The three exclaimed in unison as they rushed out of the room.
Grinning, you titled your head to the side sitting on the edge of the desk. "You saved me....from a bunch of goons. Funny I can't remember that."
Mordecai huffed as he stepped close as he stepped between your legs. "Well I wasn't about to tell them the truth of me embarrassing myself twice."
Grinning, you cupped his cheeks as you shook your head. "Adorable."
"I'm not adorable."

Can I request Mordecai with a dead gn crush who can visit him in his dreams and can appear as a ghost if he's near/in a near death situation?
And let's say he's in a situation where he would have died but then the reader is like "You're not supposed to be here, I'm sending you back." And he wakes up alive. I think that'd be pretty cool
I wound up putting these two together. I hope neither of you mind.

"MERDE!" Serafine slammed the driver's side door shut and threw the clutch into reverse, the screeching of tires making her pin her ears back against her skull."Merde, merde, MERDE!!"
A large paw gripped Mordecai's own when he tried to speak, to ask her to stay quiet. "Shhh, cher," Nico whispered. "You're gonna be alright."
The constant pain in his abdomen begged to differ. Against his better judgement, he looked down at his stomach—or what was left of it—and groaned as it churned when he was met with the bloody mess of his innards. Nico's paw tightened on his own and the tomcat had a rigid set to his jaw when Mordecai looked to him again, though he still managed an easygoing smile.
"Keep 'im talking!" Serafine snapped. "We all know it's what he likes to do. Ask 'im about 'is—ah...His—'is home life!"
"I'll keep 'im going." Nico's voice was surprisingly level. "You focus on getting us back home."
The car ran over a bump in the road. Mordecai ground his teeth and hissed in anger and pain. Nico steadied him with his free hand, let Mordecai let go of his paw and almost pulled him into his lap.
The car was either much more steady on this side or this cat had enough body mass to make up for the pitiful amount of shock absorbers in the vehicle. Mordecai raised his head and made it onto Nico's shoulder to look out the window. "Where 're we...?"
"Home, cher." Nico's bandaged paw stroked Mordecai's head like he was a frightened kitten. "We're takin' you home to patch you up some. Sit tight, okay?"
Another bump in the road. Mordecai's confused brain tried to grab on to his stomach, to literally hold it in. He moved his head off Nico's shoulder just to lean against it. Everything felt heavy. He was so tired.
"Don't close those green eyes!" Nico's harsh pinch made him flinch. "You stay awake! We're almost there!"
"Wake m' up when we arrive."
"Serafine, pull over! We're losing 'im faster than you can drive!"
Car tires screeched again, this time to a stop. The lights started going out as Nico gathered him into his arms and tried to open the door with his elbow.
Mordecai made it to the grass outside before the world around him disappeared.
He wasn't sure what he was expecting, but it wasn't to just suddenly exist in a white void. He could see his paws in front of him, he could feel his cufflinks when he adjusted them, but that was about it: this place was as empty as empty could get.
At least he wasn't in pain anymore. What a way to go; gored and confused. What an ending. Embarrassing.
"Fancy meeting you here."
He glanced around at the familiar voice, his eyes finally landing on a H/C cat standing with their arms crossed. "Y/N?"
"Hey, Heller. What're you doing here?"
Mordecai cleared his throat, then winced and rubbed it. Funny how that started hurting. "Yes, well...Ahem. I had—unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances arise-"
"You died."
"Yes. Like I said, unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances."
Y/N chuckled and walked closer to him, running their claws through their fur in playful exasperation. "Still talkin' like a dictionary, eh?"
"You can still "decode" what I say, it seems."
Y/N shook their head with a smile. For a moment they stood merely eyeing him, a mixture of nostalgia and sorrow in their expression. They looked much more lively from the last time he had seen them in person.
Probably because the last time, they weren't actually alive.
"You're not supposed to be here," they said with a shake of their head. "It's too early. Way, way too early."
"What are you going on about?"
"Your death, Morde." Y/N heaved an exasperated sigh and rubbed their temples. "Augh, I'm getting such a headache just talkin' to you. He's not gonna like this."
"What is—"
"I'm sending you back."
Back? Back to the bloodthirsty Savoy twins who would throw him under a train for a dollar? Back to walking on eggshells, trying to rein those two in with a roll of his eyes and sarcastic quip?
Back to his background mission. Y/N was right, he had to go back.
But first...
"Y/N. May I speak with you for another min—"
"Later." Y/N grabbed his upper arm and almost yanked him off his paws. "Come. Now."
Their no-nonsense tone told him this was not negotiable. The two walked in a hurry, Y/N sometimes glancing off to the side at something Mordecai couldn't see. What where they so afraid of?
They stopped suddenly, making the Tuxedo cat bump into them. They heaved a sigh and turned to him. "There's your way out. Go. Now!"
"I don't see anything."
"Of course you don't. Because why would he make this easy?"
Y/N shoved him ahead of them. His paw caught a doorframe and he braced against it. "Just one more moment! I need to ask you something."
"You're sister's not here, no. You're in Limbo, the in-between bit. Now please would you-"
"Before you passed on," Mordecai spoke over them. "Before the accident. You pulled me aside, you told me there was something urgent that needed my attention. What was it?"
Y/N hesitated. Their ears moved about like little radars before they sighed and folded them back.
"I love you, Mordecai." Their voice was low. "I had for a long time. At that point I finally worked up the nerve to tell you this, but, well...I died before I could. I spent a year waiting for us to meet again, even too early like now; but it's not there anymore, so don't worry about it. Now go home, I'll be watching over you."
They stepped forward and gave him a shove, making him stumble back through the invisible-to-him doorway and start falling.
Good lord, everything hurt. Everything from the abdomen up pounded, throbbed or crackled like electricity. His chest and stomach felt particularly weird, though considering he had died for an unknown amount of time there was small wonder as to why.
Mordecai carefully moved his left arm underneath him and pushed himself up, wincing and biting back a hiss at the discomfort rippling through his stomach when it squished. He rubbed his eyes to get read of the fog clouding his vision, finding himself in a familiar hotel room. A chicken clucked it's way past him, bones hanging from the ceiling glinted in the early-morning lighting and the smell of something he couldn't place was strong enough to make him sneeze.
The Savoys brought him to their apartment. The thought gave him a single drop of relief before he was gripped with fear. What the Hell had Serafine done to him while he was gone?
A fuzzy head suddenly poked into the room from the doorway. Nico gave him an easy smile and opened the door all the way. "Ah, cher, you're awake. How you feel?"
"Fine." Mordecai roughly cleared his throat. Talking was a chore all of a sudden. "Where are my things? I am heading home now."
"Oh no you are not, mon ami." Nico made his way further into the room, closing the door slowly and shoving the chicken away from it with his paw. "You die for twenty minutes, sleep for hours and think you can just leave?"
Mordecai felt his ears press against his head. Nico took a step back, so he either looked like he was going to bite him if he got closer or fearful for his life. The larger tomcat raised his paws in an "I'm innocent" gesture, so Mordecai pinned his hopes on the former.
"Settle down now, cher." Nico moved across from him to sit on the arm of the couch Mordecai was currently taking up residence in. "I am over de moon that you're feelin' fiery, but there is no need to try an' take my head off. My work is around your body, after all. Your filling is nice and snug now."
'My filling?'
Nico smiled wider. His smile faltered when Mordecai's eyes rolled back in his head and he hit the couch again.
Maybe it was a bit too soon to start teasing him about his brush with the maiden of death.

These questions have been bothering me since I saw your Heller Family posts. I wasn't sure if I should ask since I don't want to make you uncomfortable, but I have to know--
Did Halina and Mordecai ever talked about having kids? Mentioning having a family? Or was it just a coincidence?
What was Mordecai's reaction when Halina was pregnant with Edgar? And Rosemarie after?
What was Halina's experience with pregnancy with her Edgar and/or Rosemarie?
Like I am so curious.
Oh no I understand completely, it’s a hard subject to honestly ask, many just straight up avoid it which I don’t think is ok.
But for me I understand if some feel uncomfortable about the thought when it comes to Mordecai in a family and being well.. NOT himself! I try my best to keep him in character cuz I love him for well. HIM! I love his character, it’s what makes his character funny and honestly perfect.
To answer the first question, cuz I’ve had this questioned before but haven’t had the time to answer yet.
Halina did tell Mordecai about her past somewhat, knowing she wants a family of her own. However whenever they ended up marrying they hadn’t really talked about having children of their own, adopting maybe? But when Halina met his family, it was rather clear that a married couple like them were not really allowed to say “No we don’t really want kids.”
Mordecai still was a bit hesitant of even thinking such a thought, but after talking with his sisters, he wasn’t as negative to the idea, until Halina surprised him.. on a car ride… in the middle of the night…
And the second question~
Well, any first fathers would be shocked I would say, on Mordecai’s end he freaked out silently to himself after the shock ran down. He had no idea how to be a father, however, he knew what Halina truly wanted before her life turned to crime. Edgar was, how should we say?.. Edgar was his “test” so to speak before Rosemarie.
Rosemarie wasn’t too much of a shock I would say, but the fact they got another one made Mordecai take it more seriously. Rosemarie loved her father from the moment she saw him, Mordecai may have a bit more of a soft spot towards his daughter with bow similar she is to her aunt.
Though, both children clearly are something Mordecai keeps close to him. Edgar’s second name is from his grandfather, while Rosemarie is named after her aunt.
And for the final question.
Edgar was surprisingly going smoothly, but Halina had such an odd craving for things that when carrying him, often for peanuts for whatever reason. Mordecai was often woken up in the middle of the night to go buy her peanuts, Rosemarie probably was the more harder one to carry I would say. She was VERY energetic, nothing changed I would say.

The thing is, while I think the majority of wider fandom attention Castiel's death scene garnered was simply mocking how meme-worthy bad it was? And hellers claiming that's support for their ship are as clueless as the creators of Morbius taking similar ridiculous memes as a reason to hope a re-release of the movie would be more successful?
I do think there was an extent to which hellers did cultivate some genuine sympathy from shippers in other fandoms. For people in fandom spaces who never watched an episode of Supernatural, just heard hellers caterwauling about how they were totes queerbaited and saw a highly edited gifset or two, then saw that scene and heard it was the last time Castiel appeared? They might have sympathized and considered how they'd feel if that's how their canon ended in regards to their ship.
Of course, that was doomed to only last as long as those other fans didn't have to deal with hellers being hellers. We spent so many years in SPN fandom seeing over and over how they cared only about getting their ship (regardless of any and everything else, including the actual characters) and how they tried to turn literally everything into being about their ship (no matter how absurd of a stretch it was). When other shippers heard abstractly about them not getting what they wanted from their own canon, that was one thing. But as they've moved out into wider fandom spaces and still continue to loudly try to turn developments in other shippers' canons into being all about their ship, obviously not caring about anything else? First with Good Omens and now with 911? Well.

So, I've been thinking of how hellers celebrate November 5th for the past three years. Seeing that's the date of castiel's death(finally, should have been gone long before this episode), you would think they would crawl back into their holes and bawl over his death. Yet they make new memes, celebrate and annoy the other 99% of the fandom.
His death is like the major thing that happened in that episode of Supernatural that aired on that date.
Sure, castiel had his big PLATONIC declaration of love for Dean. Yeah, he loved Dean as a brother. He loved how he taught him so much about humans. How to love and have emotions. Dean taught him so much about be free to make his own decisions and free will. Heck, Dean even helped castiel when he was nothing more than a human working at a Gas-N-Sip and had a crush on his FEMALE boss. He asked Dean for advice when he thought she was asking him to out on a date.
Even as a genderless angel, castiel always liked WOMEN. There was so much obvious sexual tension between him and the demon Meg. Megstiel even went cannon. They shared a passionate kiss. Meg even gave up her demon ways to pretend to be a nurse in order to stay with castiel in the mental hospital after he took on Sam's mental health issues from him purposely opening the wall in Sam's mind that was stopping him from feeling what his soul went through in hell locked in the cage with Lucifer.
Their delusional ship crashed and burned for good on November 5th. It never was and will be cannon.
They badly need to deal with the fact that Dean was/is 100% cannon straight and always will be. Jensen has said time and time again Dean is straight and that's how he played him. Eric Kripke himself and show writers have said Dean is straight.
It doesn't help that misha collins will not stand up and make them stop. Instead, he eggs them on with their delusions and panders to their sick, twisted delusional ship. He should be ashamed of how his actions has affected his co worker that he claims is his friend. Jensen looks like he would rather be anywhere else them is a photo op with misha, especially if hellers are trying to push destiel in the op.
I say we start making memes commemorating castiels death and post them all over social media on November 5th next year. Nothing mean just posts/memes in his memory.

Asking a „sense of life“ kind of question - So, why do we ship cockles? There is so much more „physical“ footage of misha and the other spn cast like kissing and intense hugging, let’s take Rob… why is it not Robisha (well, not in this extent)? Why is it Jensen and Misha, bc of destiel? What is it what cockles makes a difference to other relationships with the cast? Just me having another cockles-crisis, need. new. fluffy. cockles. content! Maybe we can have an analysis here 😅
This is a great question actually and I think it's due to two things:
1) we never got closure over destiel. I mean don't get me wrong, I know we aren't toddlers and very much understand object permanence and know that actors =/= their characters but I as a heller, have a primal need to see Dean & Cas together and happy and at this point Cockles is the only place I'm getting a knock off version of that.
Plus, to return to the topic of object permanence here, Supernatural is unlike any other show in regard that it is so closely intertwined with real world events - from the writer's strike causing Dean to go to hell and have a need for an angel to raise him to Destiel trending over US elections. And don't forget 'French Mistake' !
Frankly the topic of the later seasons - God being evil and trying to control Dean & Cas, Becky telling Chuck his ending sucks etc is impossible not to parallel with CW and the SPN fandom. So all these further blur lines between real world and tv show and make the Destiel - Cockles pipeline easier to race thru.
2) You pointed out correctly there is plenty of footage of Misha being flirty and vice versa with other cast members and yet, Cockles is the heaviest of hitters. Again, partly because they are the in-universe version of Destiel but also a big part of it is because their flirting feels different to when they are flirting with others.
For example I do like Rob & Misha, they are super cute together, I think they would make a cute couple and frankly I think if propositioned by Misha, Rob would go 100% with it (or would have gone before Ruthie). They have done silly grabs and shared plenty of kisses but none of it could turn my stomach the way one yearning look from Jensen towards Misha can.
Jensen & Misha's dynamic, as playful as it is most of the time, always feels incredibly high stakes. You put them next to their costars/friends and you can instantly tell there is something different going on between those two. I am really curious to experience them together in a room live this Purcon because I can just feel that different vibe from them in videos and keep wondering if it is real or even worse in person. For the lack of a better word, it feels like they are drawn to each other and unable to do much about it really. There is a degree of possessiveness they have for each other that is very subtle but also very akin to how lovers are about/with each other.
I think what perhaps makes us scratch our heads every now and then when it comes to these men is the sincerity with which they joke/fake kiss/etc. With others, it might be camp and might be queer but it's just until the punchline, until the audience laughs. But with Jensen and Misha it feels like their little flirty interactions are never for show or to make the audience laugh. If anything they are always extra silly to make each other laugh. It feels like in a way their silly and sweet onstage moments never end. After all, as Jensen said, he is living it.
So in conclusion I think that yes, a part of it is due to us kinda expanding Destiel into this world but also I think that we humans are pretty good at picking up signals and queues in other people's behaviour and a lot of people watching Jensen & Misha together feel like there is something there that they might be unable to name (*points at this rambly answer*) but that doesn't necessary mean they are wrong.

Why This Doesn’t Mean Destiel: Part 2 - Dean Wrapping up Castiel's Corpse
Part 1 - Zepline Traxx - here
Okay, so I saw this take floating around Twitter and Tumblr again in the last week or so: if Destiel isn’t canon then why did they have Dean wrap up Castiel's body in 13x01? This obviously means they’re married became because this is a ritual for widows in …. You get it. Well, allow me to offer my rebuttals to this totally unbiased idea. Now, I know hellers will never listen or care because they have their heads buried too far in the Destiel quicksand to ever see the light, but honestly, I just like to argue against takes that show a lack of media literacy, or takes that deliberately ignore the rest if the text, especially when it’s easy to do.
Arguments and screen shots under the cut due to length.
First: Let’s go with the Wincest reasons, just for funsies, and because I know it would piss hellers off. Dean can’t be married to Cass because, in Season 8, he already married Sam in a hand-fasting ritual. In a church. In front of a witness (Crowley). And despite some rough times in Seasons 9 abd 10, they never did get a divorce.
And:
So, if we need to put romantic significance on a moment like Dean wrapping Cass' body up for burning, then we also need to put romantic significance on Sam and Dean exchanging promises of devotion in a church (wedding), especially when the later is a very popular Western tradition and Suoernatural does, in fact, take place in the Western world. "But they’re brothers!" I might hear you cry is disdain. Well, Sam and Dean are weird, so there is that. But, it’s true, they are brothers, so they aren’t technically married in a romantic sense. But, neither are Cass and Dean. Dean considers Cass like a brother, too (which he has said more than once). He has also never referred to Cass and himself like a couple, even in passing or as a joke. In fact, he’s taken exception to the very suggestion (10x05). Thus, it’s not a romantic gesture on his part, but a familial gesture, a brothers in arms gesture.
Second: if Dean wrapping Castiel’s body can only be read as romantic in nature then how do we explain all of these moments:
1) Is it Sam or Dean who are in love with their dad? Or did they prepare John for burning together? Or did they get someone else to wrap him up before they burned him, so as to avoid the primarily spousal burial ritual from another culture that would have implied incest?
2) I guess nodoby could have had any romantic feelings for Ellen or Jo because, seeing as they got blown up, and didn’t have bodies to lovingly prepare before the ritual hunters cremation. Sucks to be them, I guess.
3) I guess Dean had to be in love with Charlie, even though that idea is not allowed because she’s a lesbian, since someone had to prepare Charlie’s body. Or was it Sam? It certainly looks like both of them where dealing with her body. No wait! Maybe Castiel did it, because he’s an angel so it doesn’t count. But, then it does count, but only if Dean is doing it for him... ?
4) What about Asa Fox and the other hunters who died in 12x06? Who was in love with them?!! Asa's body was wrapped up before Jody got to the wake, and she was the closest to being in a romantic relationship with him.
5) Oh no, who's in love with Mary? Which of her deviant sons prepped her before cremation? Or did Castiel do it? But, again, that would mean he’s in love with her. If only preparing somoncy's body before cremation didn’t only mean a character was in love with them. But, it does, I guess … So many plot-holes about who prepares the bodies in this show. If only there were an easier explanation. Also, it doesn’t look like Dean is feeling too romantic towards Castiel at this hunter's funeral, and this came after his preparing Cass to be burned.
6) Finally, who prepared Dean's body? Surly, it couldn’t have been Sam, even though he were the only one present when Dean died and he was the person who loved him most, because that would mean … Wincest. Gasp! Once again, if Destiel is canon because of one particular detail, so is Wincest (only Wincest has more "proof"). It certainly looks like Dean was wrapped with a lot of care, but who could have done it since no one on earth was in love with him at the time?
I guess for the preparation for cremation argument to be valid, it only counts if we see the preparation on screen? Because that is the only time it matters. So, Castiel's death and preparation for burial mattered more than John's, or Dean's? That seems really unlikely.
Finally: Let’s take a look at the scene in context.
Dean is upset, no one is arguing against that, but he’s not only upset about Castiel (despite what certain fans like to claim). Castiel, however, is the only corpse available to prepare and burn. Sam is off supporting a new-born Jack while he pays his respects to his mother's body, something Dean certainly wasn’t going to get involved in when he hates Jack at this point. So, while Sam is supporting his new angel (a clueless child in the new world) because someone has to, Dean is saying a last private goodbye to his angel, a fallen ally. There is a clear parallel here, as well as a sunrise-sunset thing going on here, and unless Jack is in love with his mother, it’s more about saying goodbye to family than to a lover. Also, this is Dean, he needs to take action rather than sit around and watch, especially when he’s upset, so him wrapping up Cass makes sense, but it’s in no way is inherently romantic.
But, those arguing that the scene set up in this way just to show Dean is in love with Cass, or that he loves him more than anyone, ask yourselves what Dean would do if it was Sam who died. Would he be sharing preparation duties with Castiel? But, then, we don’t have to wonder. The answer is No. He didn’t even want Bobby around when Sam died. When Sam died, Dean was so distraught that he couldn’t even prepare Sam's body, but sat with his corpse, mourning him for days (2x22). Then when the guilt and grief got too much, he went and sold his soul to bring his baby brother back. He didn’t even do the same for either of his parents, Castiel, Bobby or anyone else. Or, Dean literally Romeo-Ed himself on the spot when he thought Sam died in Season 11, and it doesn’t get a lot more "romantic coded" than Romeo and Juliet. So, even if someone had to read the scene with Dean wrapping Castiel as romantic (you really really don’t), it still wouldn’t mean destiel is canon because there always has and always will only be one great love is Dean's life. And it’s not Cass. With Sam and Dean (canon Gencest or fanon Wincest), there is no room for anyone else.

Nu säger jag det här bara för att visa att det finns skandinaver som har liknande syn som den som skickade den tidigare asken, dock så följer vi kanske sig och tycker att din syn på saker kan vara intressant. Dessutom verkar du vara duktig på att leta reda på saker som kanske inte är så vidspridda här heller, även om du kanske ibland feltolkar delar av vår kultur.
Så detta är inget hatbrev, det är ett "jag förstår varför den tidigare personen skrev som den gjorde, och jag vill ge en snällare förklaring". Typ. Om det makes sense.

To a certain extent, I understand the person who sent the hate. It's very odd to see Americans… I don't know how to put it, but like, take a part of our culture and spread it? Now I'm not just talking about Ásatrú, that boat has sailed, but our folk beliefs, our history, legends, etc. Things that feel more secret, more "ours". And sure, culture is meant to be shared, but… It just feels a bit odd. Even if the Americans who "steal" have some random old relative who is from around here. A little "great grandmother was a Native American princess" vibes haha 😂
Now I say this just to show that there are Scandinavians who have similar views as the one who sent the previous box, however, we may follow you and find your view of things interesting. Also, you seem to be good at finding out things that may not be so widespread here either, although you may sometimes misinterpret parts of our culture.
So this isn't a hate mail, it's a "I understand why the previous person wrote the way they did, and I want to give a kinder explanation". Sort of. If that makes sense.

Nah, I understand completely. And I know the image you're seeing of American Heathenry looks batshit. It looks batshit for me too—but that's because I understand it's a fairy-tale and it's always looked like one to me.
I think that's something important to keep in mind here, though. The Heathenry you see in America is manufactured for us, mostly by American companies, orgs, and snake-oil salesmen for the purpose of their own agendas. Whatever these actors can snag from the Nordic countries that makes their fairy tale look more real, they do.
One of the things this fairy-tale tells us is that "Heathenry died off with the vikings a long time ago, so it's up to us to return to our ancient roots to restore it." Often when I bring up your culture, it's to illustrate that this is bullshit, and that your current culture matters when it comes to how we Americans understand Heathenry. (I'm also trying to compare cultural senses to illustrate the differences.)
But if I'm blatantly getting something wrong or being insensitive about something in this process, you are more than free to tell me.
What I don't appreciate is when people are just angry that I exist and want me to take responsibility for the fact they feel angry about my existence. The fact the other person didn't return to explain what the actual problem I was causing was, tells me they just wanted a punching bag.
I understand getting angry about Americans taking what's "yours" without a care—and I agree it's a problem—but getting angry at Americans doesn't solve this problem. It's certainly won't get the tens of thousands of American Heathens to stop being Heathen. A better approach would be to just help us get better educated about it.

Cat’s Out of the Bag
Minecraft Streamer AU
Okay so I’ve had this thought brewing for a bit, but it’s about irl Serennedy vs their SMP characters. It’s about their relationship in and out of the Minecraft roleplay. It’s a lot so I’ll put it under the cut.
If they’re following the plot of the RE4 remake (with plenty of changes to make it fit Minecraft), then they’re clearly not together as a couple. But, for all the same reasons that we ship them, they’ve got those little moments interspersed in the roleplay and their fans pick up on them, too. It’s subtle enough not to out them, but it’s also subtle enough for it to be dismissed as being close friends (which they are; they’re dating but they’re also each other’s best friends).
So that kind of brought me to their shipping boundaries that I’ve posted elsewhere. Luis is chill with being shipped with other characters as long as the CC is also fine with it, but there’s kind of an exception with Leon. Luis is the captain of the Serennedy fanbase even though Leon has never outright stated his shipping boundaries. He never addresses it. Naturally there’s a divide in the fandom over whether or not it’s okay to ship Serennedy because, on the one hand, Luis is incredibly supportive of it, but on the other hand, Leon hasn’t ever said anything about it. It’s unclear what his thoughts are about it, but Luis is his best friend and encourages it, so it’s probably fine, right? There’s a lot of discourse over this.
It’s not like Luis and Leon are hiding their relationship on purpose though. It’s just nobody’s business. If they come out, they come out, but it’s not a huge deal. Besides, focusing on them as strangers developing a sort of friendship is ideal for the story they’re trying to tell. They reason it would make for a more compelling narrative if they’re not sure where they stand with each other because of their pasts instead of having them be together from the start. It makes for great storytelling getting to establish this sense of unease and distrust that develops into total trust after they open up to each other.
Then there’s also the fact that nobody knows they’re living together. They were roommates before they were together, so they each have their own rooms. They stream in their own spaces and don’t interrupt each other when they’re doing their own things, so nobody knows that they’re living together– which brings me to what I’ve been thinking about for a couple days now.
The news that Serennedy is, in fact, canon between the two actual streamers and that they live together doesn’t come out until well into the RE SMP’s story. It doesn’t happen until Luis’s character is killed off.
Luis is upset about his character dying, even if he did propose the idea himself. He wrote his way out of the SMP because he’s in grad school and his workload has started to pick up tremendously. He loved his time on the RE SMP, but he knew he couldn’t devote as much time as he wanted into it with his classwork piling up, so he made the decision to kill off his character. He didn’t realise how bummed out he would be about it until the day of. He finishes his stream, but he’s so sad over the end of his character, so he goes into Leon’s room while he’s still streaming. The chat goes wild. They realise Luis and Leon live together.
Luis walks over to him and asks to be comforted, so he sits on his lap and hugs him while Leon finishes up his stream. Again, the chat is going crazy. Serennedy is trending on Twitter. But that’s just a hug! It’s still totally friendly! Totally platonic! Leon pecks Luis on the lips because he knows he’s sad. That’s the end of the shipping discourse. People who thought they were queerbaiting are losing their shit. It’s like Nov 5th, 2020 for the Hellers except it’s actually clearly reciprocated. Leon ends stream like nothing’s happening. Ashley calls him to ask if everything’s okay because outing themselves like that was an insane move, but she’s happy for them and feels relieved that she doesn’t have to worry about slipping up and accidentally outing them herself.
The craze goes on for like a week and then everyone accepts it as the new normal. For a while nobody can get the Serennedy shippers to shut up about being right about them. Of course there are haters that drop the RE SMP, but they’re a minority and it’s not really noticeable when they leave.
This is subject to change as I continue to develop the AU, but I like this as the reveal. Sorry for rambling. I’m just really into this AU rn

Someone was trying to lecture me in my inbox about the AKF spirit and how Jared will be so disappointed wrt to this poll.
This is my response.....
Well kindness doesn't always work and I don't have Jared's endless patience. Also, I am sure Jared gives it back to toxic people as well in his own way. So I am going with tough love (if you want to call it that).
This is a nice little message to hellers that their toxicity against Jared is not going down without a fight anymore. Whether we manage to overtake him or not the difference isn't as huge as it was before and we did try. So in a way it does embody the AKF spirit of fighting against bullies.
If this was an attempt to show me the mirror or something, it doesn't work. I am not going to feel guilty about fighting fire with water.
To add, I especially don't have any grace towards a man who joked about Never Keep Fighting when Jared was in an accident.

Every time they claim dean is gay/bi because his siren was a male all they’re saying is that he’s gay/bi for HIS BROTHER because that’s who the siren represented. So if they want to claim the siren as “proof” it’s only proof of how he feels about SAM… so they may not want to argue so hard how that affects his sexuality because they’re basically supporting wincest lol

It's LackaCrazy!! (The Lackadaisy Phenomenon Of 2 Million Dollars)
Last night, the Lackadaisy Backerkit for funding for Season 1 hit it's final goal of 2 MILLION DOLLARS, and ended up even surpassing it! With the help of 16,000+ backers, and everyone's support, we've done it. Thank you so much to everyone who backed it, and to everyone who gave the project their support.
Lackadaisy gives me faith in humanity, honestly. To see a heartfelt project get this much support that allows for it to be the best it can be makes me so happy. To see people worldwide get together to see something as silly as "Prohibition Era Gangsters But They're Cats" makes me smile so much.
Lackadaisy is a series that has made so many people happy, and it's been here since 2006. Long time fans that are not adults have seen the progress of the series as the years have gone by. Newer fans who joined because of the pilot tagging along for the ride. Friends and family of fans who have heard about it because of them. Everyone who has heard about and/or been a part of the Lackadaisy journey in some way, all of us make up a community of people coming together for something immaculate.
I hold Lackadaisy quite close to my heart. It's brought me great joy! I've met so many friends through Lackadaisy (I'm looking at yall- Star, Ari, Oddie, Roo, Sam, other Star, Wilma, everyone else there is so many of yall <3), and I've strengthened bonds with my current friends by telling them about Lackadaisy (Looking at yall- Remy, Leah, even some of my teacherz aha-)! It's a warm thing that brings people together, that's what Lackadaisy is.
There's so much passion that comes from Lackadaisy. Passion from Tracy, Fable, Newt, the whole team in their work. Passion from the fans with our fanart, fanfics, fan-ocs, words, and works of art in general. I've seen things and sides of humanity in Lackadaisy that I have never seen with many other things.
I am so proud to be a part of the Lackadaisy Fandom/Community/Family. It's a lifetime experience that has allowed me to have hope and see things that I never would have seen if I was not a part of this. There are a lot of little things that make Lackadaisy feel heartfelt. From the LackaLivestreams Tracy and the cast do, to how the Lackadaisy team keep up with the tag on multiple platforms, all these little efforts made make this fandom feel so seen.
The Lackadaisy Phenomenon of how 16,000+ people worldwide got together and raised 2 Million dollars for silly boozecat show is history, and we made it! This right here is the future of Indie Animation.

Hi! How are you doing?
I wanted to get your opinion on another drama in the fandom after The Winchesters finale. All I get from it is facepalm. I don't remember reading it here or elsewhere, but it was saying that after the spn finale, we're in for a deliberate campaign to break the bond between J2 in the public eye. And they clearly succeeded. It's like many fans have gone crazy and can't stop saying for years that J2 were never friends or about friendship breakdown and betrayal. And this is despite the fact that J2 are still close and dear to each other. They still want to work together and will definitely restart spn one day. Not to mention them as a strong couple who have been through a lot. And I think this kind of drama is even good for them. J2 tinhat not much left and not as much attention and emphasis on them anymore. Even just j2 fans are hard to find. There are only individual aggressive fans of each of the J2 and crazy Hellers. At times I think it's even better that way. They can be together without worrying so much about damage control.
I’ve started and restarted this answer so many times, because I feel like it’s such a delicate topic but also something that definitely does need to be addressed.
And I thank you for taking the time to write it out so eloquently!
I guess I’ll start by saying that I absolutely have noticed the number of people jumping onto the anti-‘J2-togetherness’ train, to the point where I’ve been trying to figure out for a while now what factors could be contributing to it.
Mainly because the actual reality of the Js on a day-to-day basis does not match up with what’s been said (with what’s being said), and yes, there definitely have always been those who have projected their own discomforts/disappointments/opposing views etc. onto the Js. Of course we all know that, but you’re certainly right about the fact that it’s become much more prevalent in recent months (I kind of feel like it’s been happening ever since the sequel debacle, really).
And on that note, I do think the issues surrounding the sequel undeniably planted seeds of resentment/negative feelings in probably a pretty big percentage of at least the individuals who were once pro-J2 and who are now anti-J2, and I’m not about to pass judgment on anyone or try to claim that anyone’s feelings/opinions are wrong or bad, because that’s never been what I’m about here.
What I have always said about the prequel drama is essentially this-
The strength of the 15+ year relationship between Jared and Jensen allowed them to heal from all of that, and even in the midst of it, I never doubted they would…and they absolutely, 100% have.
That’s honestly what genuinely matters, at least as it pertains to our discussion about the closeness/trust/love between the two of them, and I guess I would just say…or I would hope…that anyone holding onto their own disappointments might at least be able to distinguish between their own feelings and how the Js have stated and shown they feel.
But again, to each their own.
The other element to mention, I think, is the glaringly obvious one, and something I’ve touched on a few times since the wrapping up of SPN.
It was always going to be really difficult for us, on the outside looking in, to no longer (for now, anyway) get to experience that amazingly personal and constant view of Jared and Jensen’s relationship to the degree we’d all become so accustomed to throughout the decade and a half of SPN, and I think some people lost sight of the fact that just because we’re not able to witness as much of their time together/hear about as much of their relationship/etc. doesn’t mean it isn’t still happening.
And yes, it’s common sense. But I think for some, probably those who weren’t as heavily invested in the first place (although that’s just speculation), the shift was misinterpreted as being linked to a decline in the Js intimacy instead of simply a decline in the amount of that intimacy we get to see.
As for a more formal ‘set-up’ of these rumors and speculations, that’s not something I’ve been privy to or heard anything about, although I’ll absolutely agree with you on the fact that whether there was any staging or simply just the natural progressions one would expect, the dimmed spotlight on the nature of Jared and Jensen’s relationship has certainly allowed them some more freedom and peace, which of course is a good thing.
And it’s not anything we didn’t all realize would happen, those of us who’ve been around for this for as long as we have been. We’ve been talking it over since the start of SPN’s final season.
Digging into these anti-J2 posts, I can tell you that what I personally found is that the vast majority of them, as has always been the case, are originating from hellers, with a small (although, yes, increased) percentage of them seemingly coming from previously pro-J2 folks.
In the end, I guess I’d really love to hear from others and get any additional opinions on this, so please, if you have something to add, let me know!
Edit: as far as J2 tinhats disappearing, I don’t think that’s actually necessarily the case. I know that I tend to vanish for sometimes quite long periods of time, but that’s always been the case, and I see the same group of us (not entirely, but the bulk of us) still wearing our hats and enjoying the Js here on Tumblr. 😊 So definitely hang in there, my friend!
