Asagor never felt any love for the family on his father's side. It's about time they're joing their Ancestors.

Asagor is the child of an ashlander woman and a Redoran noble. He loved his mother a lot but she died early in his life and his father never cared for him. He always resented Asagor. And one day he strikes back.

They were a wonderful subject, and while there are still so many details and textures I would like to add to their portrait, I don't know how to yet XD Still learning!

So... why did you decide to kidnap that Redoran councilor's daughter? And how do the folks in Raven Rock feel about that these days? Is that still a tactic you like to employ?

House Redoran is an easily-exploitable House due to a very obvious, very recognizable weakness: their so-called honor. I’m sure many liked to imagine something salacious when they heard the phrase ‘kidnapped daughters’, but the young women were little more than pawns in a game much bigger than they could ever hope to be. Think of them less as people and more as bargaining chips, if you will. No harm befell them so long as their families agreed to the stipulations I set. It was all very simple, really. 

If the citizens of Raven Rock ‘feel’ a certain way about my past tactics, they haven’t made it known to me, nor do I care about their opinions. These events happened long before a good many of them were even born.

As for using the same tactic today on Solstheim—nearly impossible and functionally useless. House Redoran has shrunk to less than a quarter of the size it used to be. The Redoran Council has a choke-hold on Raven Rock, and I believe taking their daughters (or sons) as means for political negotiation would be the equivalent of… oh, what’s the turn of phrase? ‘Shitting where you eat.’ 

My connections to Raven Rock are tenuous and I do not care to stretch them any thinner than absolutely necessary. It is the only port on this damnable island, as well as a hub for trade and commerce. It would not be in my best interest to resort to extortion. My current steward, Verona, acts as my Mouth when traveling to Raven Rock for supplies. Fortunately for all involved, she is charismatic and agreeable. And thus our relationship to House Redoran remains peaceable. I do not bother them; they do not bother me.

I will be assigned to bug test Suran next. Fun!

Nothing really changed that much since the last time I've posted a finished project. I've got a new job and I'm really happy there but it is still very time consuming. I also have a bunch of unfinished art projects left. 🤭

its been awhile. hopefully i'll be uploading more often!

house redoran’s color are red and their symbol is the beetle. you know what other house had red as its signature color and a (scarab) beetle symbol? house dagoth

we know for a fact not every member of house dagoth defended the stronghold. many renounced voryn dagoth’s (alleged) betrayal. after they did so, they basically had to renounce all of house dagoth and were taken in by members of other houses.

theory cooked up is that many were taken in by house redoran and over time a lot of house dagoth customs were absorbed into the house. instead of their previous color (i like to imagine purble :) ) they adopted red as so many members still wore red from house dagoth. and it probably covered the blood more from fighting. they had their own beetle symbol after a while. the tribunal let this happen as it sort of helped remove house dagoth from the collective cultural memory. now when looking at beetles and the color red people thought of house redoran instead of house dagoth

and also house redoran’s patron saint is nerevar
